- 0:00Speaker 1: This particular week, another red heifer was born up in
- 0:04Speaker 1: the northern Galilee, and so that has created a lot
- 0:09Speaker 1: of stir.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's created some interesting discussions.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You have the Temple Institute developing basically a red heifer
- 0:19Speaker 1: institute underneath them, a national red heifer institute. I like
- 0:25Speaker 1: to play off L.A. Marzulli's phraseology that The red heifer is,
- 0:31Speaker 1: how does he phrase?
- 0:35Speaker 2: I lost it now. It basically is burgeoning and not
- 0:37Speaker 2: going away. I just had.
- 0:41Speaker 3: LA on last week. Oh, it's great.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I love it.
- 0:45Speaker 1: As it relates to UFOs, but the same phraseology is
- 0:48Speaker 1: true every time I see this stuff, that the fact
- 0:52Speaker 1: of the matter is this is not going away at all.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And the red heifers are real burgeoning and not going away.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So to me, that's that's powerful, because, again, there's been
- 1:06Speaker 1: a little bit of a lull since last July, you know,
- 1:08Speaker 1: about a year ago when there was the practice ceremony.
- 1:11Speaker 1: But so that is happening right now. And you see
- 1:14Speaker 1: right now as well. Not only do you have the
- 1:16Speaker 1: religious developments of. you know, again, the red heifers and
- 1:20Speaker 1: artificial insemination and different rules and rulings, and they're trying
- 1:23Speaker 1: to dial it in. And you see this consensus building
- 1:26Speaker 1: now towards figuring this out within the religious community. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: then politically, you have some major changes that have been
- 1:34Speaker 1: happening in the last six months. And again, just recently
- 1:37Speaker 1: last month, where you have Itamar Ben-Gavir, the national security minister,
- 1:41Speaker 1: an Orthodox Jew, going up on the Temple Mount. He's
- 1:44Speaker 1: got his Israeli flag. They're praying, they're singing, they're dancing.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That did not happen five years ago. No. It didn't
- 1:50Speaker 1: even happen three years ago, really. So a lot, a lot,
- 1:56Speaker 1: a lot, a lot is going on.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah. With that being said, what misconceptions do Christians commonly
- 2:04Speaker 3: have about the Third Temple and its role in biblical prophecy?
- 2:09Speaker 1: You know, that is a superb question because what you
- 2:13Speaker 1: see— In the Christian world, again, our brothers and sisters
- 2:17Speaker 1: who have a different eschatology than we do, maybe they're
- 2:21Speaker 1: post-millennial or amillennial in their viewpoints, so they don't really
- 2:25Speaker 1: see anything future-oriented with any future prophecies. So for them,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's hard for them to wrap their head around it
- 2:31Speaker 1: because for them, they focus on one thing.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Well, the church is the temple. And of course, 1
- 2:37Speaker 2: Corinthians 3, 1 Corinthians.
- 2:39Speaker 1: 6, Ephesians chapter 2, we have a lot of, 1
- 2:42Speaker 1: Peter 2, we have a lot of passages that make
- 2:43Speaker 1: reference to the church being this new temple, obviously not physical,
- 2:48Speaker 1: but a figurative language. And so they just think there
- 2:52Speaker 1: is no need for a temple. Well, I would agree
- 2:54Speaker 1: with you under New Testament theology, there is no need
- 2:58Speaker 1: for a temple.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And we're not saying that there is one.
- 3:01Speaker 1: We're simply saying that in the midst of what we
- 3:04Speaker 1: understand of New Testament theology, that the church is this
- 3:07Speaker 1: spiritual temple being built, the New Testament still teaches that
- 3:12Speaker 1: in the future, a new physical third temple is going
- 3:17Speaker 1: to be rebuilt by the Jewish people, the unbelieving Jewish people,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and that it's going to be there at the time
- 3:23Speaker 1: of the end. It's going to be there because the
- 3:26Speaker 1: Antichrist is going to come sit in it. He's not
- 3:28Speaker 1: going to sit in the church.
- 3:30Speaker 2: It comes.
- 3:30Speaker 1: He sits in the temple of God, declaring himself to
- 3:32Speaker 1: be God. In the original context, there's no way that
- 3:37Speaker 1: Paul meant that figuratively or spiritually or metaphorically.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I don't see how he could.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So that's the misconception, I think, for them is they
- 3:46Speaker 1: fail to discern or to distinguish between what the reality
- 3:50Speaker 1: is for the church under a New Testament theological framework
- 3:54Speaker 1: And what the reality is under a prophetic framework, again,
- 3:58Speaker 1: even though this temple is going to be built, I'm
- 4:01Speaker 1: not saying it's endorsed by God or endorsed by us
- 4:05Speaker 1: by any means.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of those things I try to explain
- 4:09Speaker 3: to people that, no, it's not for us either. It's
- 4:13Speaker 3: not a Christian thing. It's just not. Neither is the
- 4:16Speaker 3: red heifer. None of this is. This is just us
- 4:19Speaker 3: sitting back, watching with a popcorn can. Or whatever you
- 4:24Speaker 3: want to say and looking at the signs, right? And saying, ooh, well,
- 4:29Speaker 3: the Bible does talk about this. The Bible does talk
- 4:32Speaker 3: about that. It's almost like, you know, it's prophetic. So
- 4:38Speaker 3: at the end of the day, it doesn't. it's not
- 4:42Speaker 3: up to us whether that happens or not, because just
- 4:46Speaker 3: like it's not up to you, whether, you know, your
- 4:48Speaker 3: town builds a new school, it's just not up to you,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but it's still going to happen. So it's, it's one
- 4:57Speaker 3: of those things it's like, but do you see any
- 5:00Speaker 3: realistic pathways towards a future temple or are there, I mean,
- 5:05Speaker 3: like what major obstacles besides the, the Islamic problem upon
- 5:12Speaker 3: the temple, right? Is there any other major obstacles that
- 5:17Speaker 3: people underestimate, maybe?
- 5:20Speaker 2: You know, yes.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And I will say that you brought up the biggest one,
- 5:24Speaker 1: which is Islam, and of course, the status quo situation.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And in answering that, I'll just remind people that in
- 5:34Speaker 1: the early church, Not everybody. The early church was not
- 5:38Speaker 1: monolithic in most things. But in the early church, there
- 5:40Speaker 1: certainly were early church fathers that taught, primarily based on
- 5:45Speaker 1: 2 Thessalonians 2, that the Antichrist in the future would
- 5:48Speaker 1: come and sit in a real temple.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So this isn't just make-believe.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Oftentimes you say, well, this started in the 1830s with
- 5:54Speaker 1: Jonathan Darby or whatever.
- 5:55Speaker 2: No, it's not true at all.
- 5:56Speaker 1: In fact, on our website, prophecywatchers.com slash temple, I asked
- 6:01Speaker 1: the question, are we crazy to believe in a third temple,
- 6:03Speaker 1: a physical third temple? And I give all the reasons why.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And then I give all the church history there. I
- 6:08Speaker 1: just provide it all.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Boom. And it's not just one or two. There's many
- 6:12Speaker 2: examples of this idea.
- 6:14Speaker 1: So, but the other thing that what you mentioned is
- 6:17Speaker 1: Islam is the big thing, but the other, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 1: the other stumbling block, which is seems odd is the
- 6:22Speaker 1: Israelis themselves.
- 6:24Speaker 2: And what I'm talking about is the secular Israelis.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah. So you have this, um, most Christians don't quite,
- 6:31Speaker 1: understand it, that they think, oh, I was under this illusion. Oh,
- 6:35Speaker 1: when I go to Israel, the first time I went
- 6:37Speaker 1: to Israel, it's going to be awesome. I'm going to
- 6:38Speaker 1: go find a Jewish guy. We're going to sit around
- 6:40Speaker 1: and talk about the Bible. We're going to talk about
- 6:43Speaker 1: Jeremiah and Isaiah. Moses is going to be awesome. None
- 6:47Speaker 1: of that is true because- Not like that at all. No,
- 6:49Speaker 1: 70% of them are secular Israeli that don't know the Bible.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And most Orthodox Jews- they're not as familiar with the
- 6:59Speaker 1: old Testament.
- 7:00Speaker 2: They love rabbinic theology and they have those things.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But as it relates to the Bible itself, I remember
- 7:06Speaker 1: talking to several about the new covenant and they really
- 7:09Speaker 1: didn't have a theology of the new covenant. It's not,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm not saying they never heard of it, but they
- 7:12Speaker 1: didn't have a developed understanding of it. So the main
- 7:15Speaker 1: issue there is you have this 30% group of religious Jews.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And not even among them.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Is there a real, um, I mean, there is a
- 7:26Speaker 1: strong consensus about rebuilding, but some of them are nervous
- 7:30Speaker 1: about it or resistant to it because they expect the.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Messiah to do it.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And so if you put that in the context, most
- 7:38Speaker 1: Israelis are like, why do we need a temple?
- 7:40Speaker 2: I don't care about a temple. I'm not religious.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So they're not going to advocate for it, to fight
- 7:44Speaker 1: for it, defend it, because it would mean nothing to them.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And what do you mean we're going to start sacrificing animals? No, like, yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 2: They're like, what? Yep. Blows their mind.
- 7:54Speaker 1: They're very Americanized and I'm not, they're all Americans, but
- 7:57Speaker 1: they're very Westernized.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:59Speaker 1: And so the idea, I mean, it's okay for us.
- 8:03Speaker 1: It's okay for us to go have a steak and
- 8:05Speaker 1: to have, you know, butchers.
- 8:07Speaker 3: It's wholly different though.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But when you go put an animal just to death,
- 8:11Speaker 1: to bleed it out for your religious, even Americans would
- 8:15Speaker 1: be like, whoa, that's wrong. But yet it's okay to
- 8:18Speaker 1: bleed it out to eat it. But what we also
- 8:21Speaker 1: remember is that those animals aren't going to waste. Those
- 8:23Speaker 1: animals are being eaten by the priests.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Or, you know, the ashes are used for purification and
- 8:31Speaker 3: all kinds of other things. So yes.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Wow.
- 8:35Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean, that's a great point. Like people
- 8:38Speaker 3: just think that Israel is all Jewish all the time
- 8:43Speaker 3: and that this is how it is and everyone's religious
- 8:46Speaker 3: and it's just not that way.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Not the case.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I did a lot of cross training with the Israeli
- 8:51Speaker 3: Defense Force when I was in the army and no,
- 8:57Speaker 3: not most of them are not practicing.
