- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31Look at him on the money with that one.
- 0:33So today we are talking about our addiction to chaos and I
- 0:39know this is going to be a hard conversation for some people to
- 0:42listen to and admit that they have this problem, but some
- 0:46people are addicted to chaos. So what does that look like?
- 0:49What do I mean when I say that? Well, if you know, let's say you
- 0:54have a household in that household is chaotic every
- 0:57single morning, you wake up and it's just He'll getting your
- 1:01kids out the door and you just can't find your keys and the
- 1:06dogs are annoying you. The kids can't get their stuff
- 1:10together. You know.
- 1:12This is this and this is a regular occurrence.
- 1:14No, this is not a one-off. This is a regular occurrence
- 1:16because we all have these one off chaotic days, right?
- 1:20But I'm talking about this being a regular occurrence for you.
- 1:25There is a great chance that this chaos has become part of a
- 1:31pattern, which is a pattern of addiction to having it happen.
- 1:35And we get something from it because if we hang on to things,
- 1:38we get something from them and that could be the story we get
- 1:42to tell about it. How terrible our mornings are?
- 1:45It could be the feeling that we get from it of being able to go
- 1:49to our partners and complain that oh my gosh, you're not
- 1:52doing enough. And you don't understand Crazy.
- 1:55It is and I can't do this all by myself.
- 1:57Blah, blah, blah. There is an addiction to that.
- 2:00And we need to stop the madness because the chaos is real and it
- 2:07is put out there all around us all the time.
- 2:09If you're taking a news, you know, how chaotic it is.
- 2:13I mean, if you've been a human being and been alive over the
- 2:16last three years, you understand the craziness that has been put
- 2:21upon us. Whether you know, you believe it
- 2:25politically you, don't believe it politically, whatever it is.
- 2:28The chaos that has been thrown our way through the pandemic,
- 2:32through just hearing about monkeypox, whatever it might be,
- 2:37everything has been so amped up, so high level.
- 2:41And so chaotic, that we have become desensitized to even
- 2:47recognize it in ourselves. And if we jump back to the
- 2:51example, I was using about your own house in the morning and the
- 2:54case, Boss that you experience. If that's happening for you, on
- 2:59some level, you have to look and say, wait, I'm in control, it's
- 3:03my house, it's your house, it's your morning and I'm letting
- 3:07this happen now, I can assure you, if there's one thing that I
- 3:11am rigid about, it's my non-chaotic mornings because it
- 3:16sets the tone for the day, if you can get a handle on the
- 3:19mornings, you have a better chance of managing the chaos
- 3:23throughout your day. It's just a benchmark.
- 3:26If you go into it in the right mindset you're going to be able
- 3:28to come through it with the right mindset, but you got to
- 3:32start at the beginning, you got to start and look at your
- 3:35morning and say, okay, Am I creating this chaos as a habit?
- 3:41Have I become addicted to it? Have I just been allowing it?
- 3:44Have I been ditching the information giving to me because
- 3:48I don't want to deal with it. So what's so important is for
- 3:52you to look at the whole morning as a Baseline and say, where is
- 3:57it coming from, what's Happening?
- 4:00Where are the downfalls? Where are the things that, that
- 4:03are my glitches? Where the things that give me
- 4:06issues and I do Here, if it's small, tiny things like in my
- 4:11world, if we don't have the, you know, dishwashers turned on the
- 4:16night before or at least set on so that it will wash overnight.
- 4:20Then you wake up in the morning, you do you have dirty dishes,
- 4:23you don't have enough of what you need.
- 4:24You don't have enough silverware.
- 4:26You don't have somebody's favorite cup that Causes Chaos.
- 4:30That's something that can start the downhill.
- 4:32Slide immediately so the prep work for a great.
- 4:37Morning does start the night before so you have to look and
- 4:41see. Okay, we're will wear my hiccups
- 4:44because if you don't look at where the problems are from a
- 4:47very neutral standpoint, and what do I mean by that?
- 4:52If You're In the Heat of the Moment, it's very hard to
- 4:55discern what has to happen because you'll just start
- 4:57blaming other people. But if you sit down today, when
- 5:00you are in a very non immediate emotional state about it, let's
- 5:06say you're outside your house and you're thinking about, okay
- 5:08let me go through a normal morning.
- 5:10Now you're not in the chaos right now so you can actually
- 5:12think about the chaos and come back with a pretty solid
- 5:17definitive line of how it works in your morning and you can lay
- 5:21it out and say, Without emotion being triggered.
- 5:25That's the way to look at it and then figure out where can I take
- 5:28these these hiccups and get rid of them?
- 5:31You know, I want I want them gone.
- 5:33I don't want to have this chaos be part of my life anymore, but
- 5:36it has to start somewhere and that Benchmark is you
- 5:39identifying it so, My suggestion would be that today when you
- 5:45were in a neutral place. When you are non-emotional,
- 5:47start thinking about your chaos start thinking about, and it
- 5:51might be that, you know, as you're going through this
- 5:53really, it's not really my mornings, it's my evenings, it's
- 5:55when I come home or it might be when I get to the office.
- 5:57That's when all hell breaks loose.
- 5:59Sure this is this can happen anywhere but typically it all
- 6:04starts in the morning waking up late, not having the clothes you
- 6:08wanted. Somebody can't find a shoe and
- 6:11it sets The tone of the entire day, sometimes it sets the tone
- 6:15for the entire week. So I challenge you today to take
- 6:20that on, look at it. See if you can figure out those
- 6:24pieces and then set yourself up to win, I will talk to you
- 6:29tomorrow. Bye.
