- 0:01Our routes had Shruva share number six.
- 0:05It's very special learning. Today it's the York site of
- 0:08Ralph Cook, so we're learning his Torah on his York site.
- 0:14But Cook had this incredibly optimistic vision.
- 0:18It's a vision because you don't see it.
- 0:19You have to visualize down the line of what the Jewish people
- 0:24could be capable of. Story is told that and Rosh
- 0:28Hashanah morning a group of Jews living in Israel who had drifted
- 0:31so far from their parents and grandparents way of life, were
- 0:36on a building site and have cook sent someone to to blow the
- 0:39chauffeur. At least they should hear the
- 0:41chauffeur even if they are engaged with the building.
- 0:45Apartment blocks, whatever it might have been in Israel at the
- 0:47time didn't give up on anybody. He saw the potential and have
- 0:52cooked rights this level of the sugar that we spoke about last
- 0:55in the last last learning session that it's going to
- 0:59transform those those moments where we fell into something
- 1:02glorious of Cook writes Zotti had to Shuvasha in a colony and
- 1:06So what this is the this is the teshuva which the eyes of all
- 1:10people are lifted. She, he Mukrahat, lava vicious
- 1:14of Fallava, which must arrive and will arrive in the end this
- 1:18ideal that we've reached the highest level, that we
- 1:22understand what we must do and therefore we understand the
- 1:24whole process of of life itself, is something that is our destiny
- 1:29as individuals and as a collective people, as a Jewish
- 1:32people. If Cook says that a person who
- 1:35thinks that he won't reach that goal, what do you mean?
- 1:37It's not for me. I'm just a simple person.
- 1:39It's not my level. I'm just happy.
- 1:40Being of such a person is mistaken.
- 1:46Even those Jews who who died not keeping Torah another Bay in the
- 1:49commandments, how can you say that they're going to reach that
- 1:52level? They'll be rectified ultimately
- 1:55throughout the long course of of the world we will get to that
- 1:59state, which is fascinating because we've we started off
- 2:03with natural to Shiva, our bodies, our impact on the world.
- 2:08And then we had faith-based to Shiva, which was based on on
- 2:11terror attacks on the Tanak, on the Rabbi's writings.
- 2:15But he's really saying here is that this level of to Shiva that
- 2:18that was religious to Shiva, we're saying here is that this
- 2:22is natural for the Jew to do this.
- 2:24It's natural to be on this highest level.
- 2:27It's who we are in our essence. Now sometimes we need great
- 2:31teachers to remind us of who we are.
- 2:34We forget along the journey we're telling us we can be this
- 2:37high, this better self. Therefore, we should not think
- 2:41of the Torro's laws and customers being foreign to us.
- 2:44Really. They all express and nurture
- 2:48that which is most natural. That's what sometimes scares us.
- 2:53I think we're scared of the natural, spiritual, connected to
- 2:57God people that we discover ourselves being at certain
- 3:01moments, yet it's hard to maintain that focus on that
- 3:03level. But that's who we are.
- 3:06And that obviously clashes with so much of the world around us
- 3:09that people try to, you know, fit in, but it's not about
- 3:12fitting in, It's about being true to yourself.
- 3:17We can get overwhelmed in all of our greats and our stories.
- 3:20When a person realizes that his good deeds reflect those of
- 3:24those heroic characters, we read about him.
- 3:27The Torah when he turns towards Hashem and pushes Once someone
- 3:31you push yourself to be better, you are doing what Avraham did
- 3:37and he turned away from idolatry, headed towards the
- 3:40land of Israel. And each step we take to better
- 3:44ourselves. We are doing what the greatest
- 3:46people in our history did with his every moment of self
- 3:50restraint, of giving up what his body urged him to do.
- 3:54Such a person is becoming like a Yitzhak who was prepared to
- 3:58sacrifice himself to serve Hashem so we can do it of course
- 4:04giving us that support, that self belief.
- 4:08So let's recap. Healthy eating and exercise
- 4:11restore a person to life, and all of its vitality to sure
- 4:15begins when a person seeks physical health in coordination
- 4:19with the spiritual for what the Tara permits and forbids.
- 4:23When we choose wrong, whether it's in the physical world or
- 4:26the spiritual world, that leads to sickness and suffering, and
- 4:32as long as the person hasn't broken down completely, he can
- 4:35fix it. The person has to learn the
- 4:37Tara's teachings, and through that we can come back to Hashem
- 4:43and the highest level and the Shriver of the intellect.
- 4:46Everything that a person sees brings about this journey, this
- 4:49process of returning back not just to Hashem but really to who
- 4:53we ought to be, who we really are, in essence, have a
- 4:56fantastic day.
