- 0:24Lisa Hopkins: Hey there, I have a little parable from our friend Pooh that I thought might help you get your week started.
- 0:31Lisa Hopkins: I'm just going to go ahead and read it here.
- 0:34Lisa Hopkins: Pooh climbed out of bed, which always helped him get his day going.
- 0:41Lisa Hopkins: He practiced being in the here and now every morning by tidying up as mindfully as he could, without thinking about anything else.
- 0:50Lisa Hopkins: When he made the bed, he just made the bed.
- 0:54Lisa Hopkins: When he got dressed, he just got dressed.
- 0:58Lisa Hopkins: When he opened the curtains, he just opened them.
- 1:02Lisa Hopkins: All of a sudden, some leaves whooshed in through the window.
- 1:07Lisa Hopkins: Pooh took out a broom and started to sweep.
- 1:10Lisa Hopkins: Although his sweeping began mindfully, his thoughts drifted back to the time that he and Piglet had jumped into the crunchy autumn leaves in Rabbit's garden.
- 1:21Lisa Hopkins: The leaves had flown everywhere.
- 1:24Lisa Hopkins: Rabbit got a bit cross, so Pooh and Piglet swept the leaves back into a pile.
- 1:31Lisa Hopkins: At that moment Pooh woke up from his daydream.
- 1:34Lisa Hopkins: He noticed that he had been sweeping the same spot over and over again.
- 1:39Lisa Hopkins: Oh, dear thought Pooh, my mind was in the past, in Rabbit's garden, while my sweeping was here and now.
- 1:46Lisa Hopkins: But it's okay, no need to fret, now my mind is back to here.
- 1:52Lisa Hopkins: You see, any time he noticed he had strayed from being in the present.
- 1:57Lisa Hopkins: He simply recited his reminding rhyme Come back from the future or past to what I was just doing last.
- 2:08Lisa Hopkins: That's the way I know how to be Pooh, here and now.
- 2:15Lisa Hopkins: And he went back to sweeping, hearing a little rumble from his tummy.
- 2:20Lisa Hopkins: Pooh thought that a smackerel of something would quiet things down.
- 2:25Lisa Hopkins: He dipped his paw into some sweet golden honey and licked it all off.
- 2:31Lisa Hopkins: Oh, mmm, so yummy when Pooh ate honey.
- 2:38Lisa Hopkins: He did not have to remind himself to just eat.
- 2:42Lisa Hopkins: Then Pooh was finished.
- 2:45Lisa Hopkins: He looked around and smiled.
- 2:47Lisa Hopkins: Everything was tidy and his rumbly tummy was quiet.
- 2:53Lisa Hopkins: He felt satisfied, knowing that he had done his best job of being here and now and being kind to himself.
- 3:01Lisa Hopkins: With a cheery little hum, pooh opened the door and stepped outside.
- 3:09Lisa Hopkins: I hope you all have a wonderful day.
- 3:14Lisa Hopkins: Remember to come back from the future or past to what you were doing just last.
- 3:18Lisa Hopkins: That's the way you know how to be here and now, like poo just doing.
- 3:27Lisa Hopkins: You got this, you guys.
- 3:30Lisa Hopkins: I'm Lisa Hopkins.
- 3:33Lisa Hopkins: Thanks so much for listening.
- 3:34Lisa Hopkins: Stay safe and healthy, everyone, and remember to live in the moment.
