- 0:23It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside the tree
- 0:29House. I'm Dan O'Malley, along with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Coming
- 0:36up on today's Pick Show, we have a special announcement about the Treehouse Pool
- 0:43party that is coming up at the end of the month. We're also going
- 0:48to be debuting a new game. I use the term game very loosely here.
- 0:55We'll be debuting Versus. It is the terrifying new game from the Treehouse.
- 1:00It was born in the previous episode and it comes into its own in
- 1:08this one. That'll be very interesting debuting Verses today in the Treehouse. But
- 1:14first I need to tell you about something that happened recently. It actually happened
- 1:25a few days ago. I need to tell you about the explosion that happened
- 1:29in our home. But do you yes? I shared just about everything with
- 1:38you guys, and I'm sure as hell not about to start stopping telling you
- 1:42guys major life events that happened to me. You guys, by the way,
- 1:47are welcome to share those same life events like Trey did in the previous
- 1:51episode where he told us about his most successful recent romantic relationship with the woman
- 1:56he had to remove from his bar walker three blocks to a different bar are
- 2:00uh And it was a thing of beauty and we appreciated that. And I
- 2:02want to make sure I mentioned that again, Trey. I appreciate you sharing
- 2:07with us. Have you started looking up real estate and by Sean, because
- 2:13you know there's more than just her. I'm just saying, if you want
- 2:17to be crazy adjacent, No, it's like, you know, we had
- 2:21a full we had a full romance in three blocks. I mean, love
- 2:23hate, you know, just crazy tears laughing. You're the greatest. You're
- 2:28an ass. Just you can't talk. Mean it just it completed me.
- 2:31It it satiated my need for a relationship for the rest of this year.
- 2:37You're like the Olympics. You're good for a few more years. Team wins
- 2:43again. I think that might be the first time. It's the first time
- 2:49they're taking home the gold. Yeah, Trey took home the flag bearer.
- 2:54Well, actually didn't take her home. He just took her from one bar
- 2:57to the next. Uh. No, So I need to tell you guys
- 3:00about the explosion that happened in our home recently. Here's what happened. Okay,
- 3:10I was actually recording commercials with Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing last week, right,
- 3:17and as i'm I record in the same fashion that we record here.
- 3:21It's virtual. You know. She's in you know, Garland and I'm here
- 3:24in the Islands. And so we're in the middle of recording one of one
- 3:29of the commercials for Brooks Plumbing, and off to my right, I hear
- 3:34a pop and not like bubble wrap pop, but not quite a you know,
- 3:40C four pipe bomb explosion, but a good healthy pop to wear back
- 3:46into the left. And I try to ignore it because I'm a professional.
- 3:55It's like, okay, I'm gonna power through, ignore it and just get
- 3:58the spot recorded with Jaqueline. And then about ten seconds later, one of
- 4:02the most horrific smells that has ever entered my nostrils assaulted me. And at
- 4:11that point I look over towards the kitchen where Tera is doing something, and
- 4:15she's looking back at me like white eyed, not quite in hysterics, but
- 4:21something bad has clearly happened. So at that point I wrap up the commercial
- 4:27with Jacqueline, and then i'd tell Jacqueline, give me five minutes and find
- 4:30out what's going on. I go over and there was a small egg explosion
- 4:35in the kitchen, a small, severely rotten egg explosion. And when I
- 4:46say severely rotten, I don't even think this qualifies as rotten. This is
- 4:49something worse. This is something that should only really pop up on a questionable
- 4:56sci fi movie on the sci Fi Channel at like three a before the vaginal
- 5:00mesh infomercials, you know. So the backstory. The backstory here is since
- 5:10we no longer have chickens because we're on Saint John not Saint Thomas, Tara's
- 5:13been feeding this little family of chickens. It's a mama hen and five chicks.
- 5:18The other day, in this yard outside of our building, I found
- 5:21an egg. And it's a yard we walked through every day. So hey,
- 5:27look, I'm assuming this is a fresh egg. I bring it inside,
- 5:30and a couple of days later is when Tara decides, all right,
- 5:33we're gonna cook this egg. I mean, you think about it, free
- 5:39range organic. I'm assuming you can't get any more free range chicken egg than
- 5:47dropped in the middle of a field next to your apartment building from a wild
- 5:51chicken. Okay, at this point, I would like to tell you,
- 5:57guys, if you ever come across a and the egg in a field.
- 6:00Leave it, don't touch it, don't pick it up, don't bring it
- 6:03inside. Definitely, do not have any intention of cooking said egg. Yeah,
- 6:09I don't think, as much as my curiosity sometimes gets the best of
- 6:15me, I would never think to pick up field egg. Yeah, especially
- 6:19the one that's been in the sunshine. And that's exactly right. Well,
- 6:24I had to learn that lesson the hard way. YouTube jerks. The sun
- 6:30cooked it before you did, and then we waited about three days to crack
- 6:34it open. So wait here here it gets better because yeah, well not
- 6:41for Terah, because she was the one that decided to try to cook it.
- 6:45She goes to crack the egg to then put it in the pan.
- 6:48So when it does the you know the click when she smashes it on the
- 6:56counter, she tries to break the egg on the counter, and on like
- 7:00the second or third tap, it explodes like it doesn't just like do like
- 7:08a tiny crack and splinter like a typical egg. No, it explodes.
- 7:13It's got a bunch of sulfur gas. A bunch of sulfur gas comes pouring
- 7:16out along with a mysterious green yogurt light consistency, liquidy, clumpy thing that
- 7:24is now oozing out of the egg at this point, I don't know that.
- 7:32When I'm recording the commercial with Jacqueline, I just smell the I heard
- 7:35the pop, and then I smelled the aftermath. And then when I saw
- 7:40Terra's face when I looked over, it was sheer horror. And we were
- 7:46picking up food yesterday and we were talking about it again because she's like,
- 7:50oh, don't forget. You need to tell the guys about the egg explosion.
- 7:55She looked up photos of what happened. She didn't take photo because she
- 8:00couldn't stand it, but she took She looked up photos on Google images of
- 8:03what it looks like. Right, I see both your hands up, hang
- 8:07on a second. Yes, And she was going to show it to me
- 8:11because she loves me and wants me to continue to be able to eat eggs.
- 8:16She said, you know what, I think it's better that you don't
- 8:18see this. Yes, is it an egg? That egg actually has had
- 8:22like a little chicken it and then it composed And yeah, uh maybe I
- 8:28don't. I don't know because you've ever raised chickens, you've you've got the
- 8:31egg that yeah, you all that I've seen. I've seen I've seen the
- 8:35egg where it has the you know, the partially formed you know, chickenside.
- 8:39But apparently what what popped out of this was just all green yogurt like
- 8:43ooze. So whatever was in there head turned. Yeah. It actually makes
- 8:46me think the zombie if the zombie apocalypse starts, it will have started it
- 8:50with that chicken egg. Yes, it was. Here's and this is just
- 8:56how my brain works. Like, you've been walking through this field. Do
- 9:01this is what Dan does? Uh? And for days and days and days
- 9:03feeding the hen and the baby never saw an egg. And then on like
- 9:09the fourth or fifth day're like, hey, let's turn that into an omelet.
- 9:13Uh, and the sun if it could talk, went Dan, I
- 9:18did that like four days ago. Uh, don't crack this egg and you
- 9:24got a decomposed fetus. Is what you smashed on your counter. I think
- 9:31what I think, what we opened up in the kitchen is something that will
- 9:35eventually have it's on Netflix documentary and will then be featured on our friends show
- 9:41Sinisterhood podcast. Yeah, so how was it? Did you smell? Huh?
- 9:54Smell no, God, No, we put that thing in the trash
- 9:56and took the trash out and then left the house. Did did you throw
- 10:01the pan out? No, we just cleaned them. I don't did it
- 10:05did the egg make it into the pan? Tara said it made it on
- 10:09the wall, the pan, the microwave. So you're moving now, actually
- 10:16yes, no, Lie, you're in the tree house. Visit us online

- 10:52cookdfw dot com. When it comes to looking for contractor what's more important,
- 10:58Daniel the quality of the work or the price that I'm going to pay?
- 11:03I guess it depends on how long you want your project to last. I
- 11:07mean, there's a lot of guys out there that are, you know,
- 11:11certified Google experts, and maybe they would love to do the job for a
- 11:18cheap, cheap price just to get a little bit of money in their pocket.
- 11:20But you know, it goes back to what we've been saying for years.
- 11:24You know who's going to warranty that project. If something goes wrong,
- 11:28who's going to ensure them while they're on your property? And if they fall
- 11:33off the roof and get hurt. You know, you're responsible for things like
- 11:37that as a homeowner, and I don't think a lot of people understand that.
- 11:39So if you take shortcuts in construction, in roofing, in remodeling,
- 11:46it's going to come back and probably get you one way or the other.
- 11:48So if you want quality, you need to go out and really do some
- 11:52research. And that's where we stand above a lot of majority of the competition.
- 11:56We're going to warranty our products and we're going to give you the very
- 12:00best experience that you could probably have. And that's why I've used Cookedfwroofing and
- 12:05Restoration, why I recommend them to you. Give them a call, get

- 12:54us to debut our new game, Versus. This was born out of the
- 13:01previous episode where I asked you guys about would you rather m in a death
- 13:13match? You have to choose your opponent, and I asked you would you
- 13:16want that opponent to be a meth field attack squirrel or Gary Busey, And
- 13:22I think you both went Gary Busey. No, I think we both know
- 13:28yeah, because the myth has a chance of eating the squirrel's teeth. That's
- 13:33never gonna Eaty's teeth, That's right, Okay, So you both went with
- 13:35the met field attack squirrel. So I started ruminating about that since then,
- 13:41and I decided, you know, that sounds like a fun game we can
- 13:43play on the show. So would you like to play version of the official
- 13:46new version of Versus with me? Now? Yeah? Absolutely famous? Last
- 13:50word nothing, Pucy. We shall see, gentlemen, it's time to play
- 14:07versus. A hot topic on the show recently has been eighties playground equipment that
- 14:13we all grew up on playing and building up scar tissue and character and grit
- 14:20and various viruses and things, built up a solid immunity over the years.
- 14:26Right, So here's my question for you, through all the playground stuff we've
- 14:33been talking about recently in the treehouse, in a death match, I need
- 14:39you to choose your opponent. Would you rather take on a single ISIS fighter
- 14:48or an entire class of fourth graders from the eighties. Now, if you're
- 14:58I'm going to give you a moment to think about this. If you're wondering,
- 15:01why would I choose these seemingly very different entities, Here's why. Remember
- 15:07back in the early mid two thousands or so, when like Taliban and ISIS
- 15:11and they would release their terrorist training videos and all it really was was guys
- 15:18in black masks on the monkey bars one after another. Yes, didn't really
- 15:22intimidate any of us, did it, because we all that stuff we all
- 15:26did in like elementary school, and honestly looked cooler doing it. And they
- 15:33had sand to fall on in their video we had actual limestone gravel with glass
- 15:37and things. So that is why I am putting these two together in our
- 15:45first edition of Verses. So I'm going to ask you again the question.
- 15:50In a death match, you must choose your opponent. Would you rather take
- 15:52on a single ISIS fighter or an entire class of fourth grade from the eighties
- 16:02not current fourth graders? Because playgrounds are made out of hugs. That's not
- 16:04That's it, Trey. I will start with you can the fourth graders ask
- 16:15questions? Mmm? Ironically, that's a great question, Trey. I think
- 16:22it's important that in a death match that the individuals involved get to use all
- 16:30the tools at their disposal. So I'm going to say yes. I said,
- 16:33I'm gonna go with the ISIS fighter because you're afraid if I die,
- 16:40at least be peaceful. Be more peaceful. Twenty five fourth graders asking a
- 16:48bunch of questions? Yeah, no, interesting? Do they ask the questions
- 16:55simultaneously? And do they have a number of questions that they can ask before
- 17:02they have to stop? It's a death match, rag, anything's possible,
- 17:04so they can all at the same time just start shouting out questions. Sure,
- 17:11I'm gonna take the fourth graders because the Isis guy will kill himself the
- 17:19one time the suicide vest is in your Yeah, is in Miss Wisdom's homeroom.
- 17:27Like that, that's the only building part he took out was just the
- 17:33teacher's lounge. Yeah, if you can have twenty five eight year olds simultaneously
- 17:42asking questions with no end and no response, like you don't even have to
- 17:48respond to their questions. They just keep asking questions, some of them over
- 17:52and over again, the same ones. Yeah, that guy is gonna that
- 17:56guy's gonna explode himself. I'm fascinated by by the fact that you both so
- 18:00Raj you chose the fourth graders, you chose the fourth graders, and Trey
- 18:04you went with the Isis fighter because you just have to assume, like he's
- 18:10just gonna he's just gonna, like the bomb has to go off and kill
- 18:12everybody. Look in my scenario, he just wants out. He didn't sign
- 18:18up for this kind of war. Well, congratulations, gentlemen, thank you
- 18:25for playing our very first official edition of Versus inside the Treehouse. Thank you
- 18:30very much. Yeah, and now we get to play the other new game.
- 18:45Will YouTube flag this portion of the show for copyright infringement. You're listening
- 18:55to the Treehouse visit goes online that treehouse on air. Let's get Jacqueline from
- 19:10Brooks Plumbing into the Treehouse now for Indy and all of your plumbing once and
- 19:12needs to give for a call to one fourth three six eight thirty eight thirty
- 19:15eight the website Brooks Plumbingtexas dot com. I was talking to Daniel Cook from
- 19:19cook Dfwroofing Restoration about this. I wanted to throw this at you as well.
- 19:23What's more important the best contractor or the best deal. If Daniel thinks
- 19:29at all like me, I'm gonna guess what his answer is, which would
- 19:32be identical to mine. And there's an old saying that you can get a
- 19:37contractor that's fast, cheap and good or a high quality, and you can
- 19:42typically get two out of three, but you can't get all three at the
- 19:45same time. So you may be able to get it fast and cheap,
- 19:47but it won't be good. And you might be able to get it fast
- 19:49and good, but it won't be cheap, et cetera, et cetera.
- 19:52And I think that's really true. What's cool, in my opinion is that
- 20:00if you're working with a good contractor. If you're clear enough about what your
- 20:04needs are, they can make themselves what you need. Two one four three
- 20:08six eight thirty eight thirty eight. And again the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot

- 20:48earlier in the show, I mentioned that we have a special announcement about
- 20:51the pool party coming up on Saturday, July twenty seventh at the Fraternal Order
- 20:56of Eagles on our Turo Drive in Dallas. That is Saturday the twenty seventh,
- 21:02from one to four pm, a live taping of the show. You
- 21:04can be present for that. In addition to the show and being able to
- 21:08jump in the pool. If you want three bars to order drinks, there's
- 21:11a grill to order, food, sand, volleyball pit, hang out in
- 21:15the shade, fans, all the fun stuff. We're going to have that
- 21:18afternoon with a special presentation of the Treehouse. Yes right, oh, I
- 21:22was just gonna say, I had someone message me And if you don't know
- 21:26where the Foe is, it is over in East Dallas White Rock Arboretum area.
- 21:33Yes, it is across the road from the Arboretum. You basically,
- 21:41if you're coming from thirty you would go was it Garland Road on the right
- 21:48time, the left side, Yeah, yeah, and Arboretum will be on
- 21:52your left. You turn right on you turn right and take it all the
- 21:55way down Google Maps. That's right there. Yeah, foie. So anyway,
- 22:00some additional things that we will have at the Treehouse pool party on Saturday,
- 22:06July twenty seven, from one to four pm. The Foe in Dallas
- 22:08is We're going to have some merch available, and this is special edition merch.
- 22:14This isn't just you know, Treehouse logo only type stuff. This is
- 22:18extremely special, limited edition, very kick ass merch, only available through the
- 22:26Treehouse. And the merch will include things like shirts. I believe cooozies have
- 22:33been ordered. We'll have some stickers and for the first time ever, some
- 22:40Treehouse hats, and again this is all going to be Oh see, this
- 22:45is why if you're not a subscriber on our Patreon channel patreon dot com slash
- 22:52Treehouse on air, you could see that Trey has the prototype of the Treehouse
- 22:57Pool party hat, and you would see it if you were a Patreon subscriber.
- 23:02Sharp look, yeah, lean in again, in a little bit more,
- 23:03Trey, it is a Yeah, that looks good. You did an
- 23:11outstanding job these are It's an excellent cap. It is a trucker cap summer
- 23:18colors. And the company that ordered these from is based in Florida and they
- 23:26wouldn't send the single prototype hat to me in the Virgin Island. So I
- 23:30had descended to Trey in Dallas to make sure that it was up up to
- 23:33par for us to sell at the Foe Pool party, and it got sent.
- 23:40Tray picked it up and yeah, it looks absolutely outstanding. So I'm
- 23:41excited. So if you're listening, you can't see it, but if you
- 23:45come to the event on Saturday, July twenty seventh, you'll be able to
- 23:48see and get your own Treehouse Pool Party hat, which is very awesome.
- 23:52The design, the logo, the artwork was actually designed by my wife based
- 23:59on a true story, based on a punchline. It really is that the
- 24:06hat is a combination of a few different things based on actual life experiences and
- 24:15a punchline that will not die and we don't want it to because it's a
- 24:18good one. So there you have it. There's your Treehouse merchantse for today
- 24:23inside the Treehouse So again, that's at the tree Housepital party at the Foe
- 24:27in Dallas, Saturday, July twenty seventh, the day after mister Trenholm's fiftieth
- 24:33birthday. Yeah, so I was going to wait to give you a present
- 24:37tray, but I figure, you know what, the hat will be your
- 24:42birthday present from from me in Terara. I appreciate it. I'm kidding.
- 24:48We'll figure something else out. But it really does look good. I'm actually
- 24:52very pleased with how that came out, you know, as I told you,
- 24:56like, I'm picky with caps. I don't wear them often because hey,
- 24:59I've got big seven and seven eighth melon head and Jesus. Yeah,
- 25:03so but these fit great. The Saint Tulsa logo is fantastic. You're given
- 25:10you're giving out all the secrets. Oh, I figured they could see it
- 25:12on the when I well, they can, but not the people listening.
- 25:15Okay, that's all right, we'll ignore that it actually works. It makes
- 25:23the tease even better. And honestly, like you, Trey, I'm I
- 25:27am extremely anal about a number of things, and my hats is near the
- 25:33top of the list. I am beyond picky when it comes to picking out
- 25:38a hat. So I'm very excited to uh get my own because I'll be
- 25:44wearing that as well, along with the shirts, the coozies, and the
- 25:49stickers, all available at the tree House Pool Party Saturday, July twenty seventh,
- 25:53one four pm at the Foe in Dallas. All Right, I feel
- 25:57good. Let's make this segment really worthwhile by doing something really stupid and right
- 26:08now, I don't know if I can think of anything more stupid than a
- 26:12man accused of breaking into a pet store and he was found by police sleeping
- 26:18with hamsters in his pants. Insert Richard Gear joke here, Yeah, that
- 26:27would be the obvious thing. An Ohio man is accused of breaking into several
- 26:33stores, which those of us in the Treehouse No means seven, including a
- 26:37pet store where he let various animals loose, but police said they found the
- 26:42man asleep in the store with the hamsters in his pants. Obviously not something
- 26:49that the police officers come across every day, but it certainly does make for
- 26:56an interesting sound bite when the news goes and speaks to, you know,
- 27:02the officers on the scene about what they found. You say it all the
- 27:07time, and we never know what to expect in our job. And one
- 27:11day you know you're you're running after a suspect. The next day you're running
- 27:15after affair or a bunny. Sometimes they're one of the same. I would
- 27:26think though, that the suspect with hamster and his with hamsters in his pants
- 27:30would be easier to catch. Do we know did he put the hamsters in
- 27:37his pants or did the hamsters? Did he pass out and the hamsters climbed
- 27:41in? Oh? That is a massively important question. Let me see if
- 27:48I can get you an answer on this. Hang with me one second.
- 27:53Uh. In Columbus, Ohio, police arrested a suspect who they believe broke
- 27:57into several businesses in the city West side, including a pet store where several
- 28:02animals were released. Officers responded. Just after three am, they were notified
- 28:08of a burglary alarm going off. Officers discovered that a restaurant was broken into.
- 28:14Detectives obtained video evidence showing a man with long hair wearing leopard print pajamas.
- 28:18It is unclear whether anything was taken from the restaurant. About one hundred
- 28:22yards away, officers found that the pet Land store was also broken into,
- 28:26and several animals were seen running around in the parking lot. Police recovered two
- 28:30dogs, multiple birds, a hamster, and at least two bunnies. Police
- 28:36Sergeant Joe Albert said officers were still searching for a couple of rabbits and birds
- 28:40and a ferret. While searching the area, police discovered the famous footwear store
- 28:45had been broken into. He said. Hiss believed the suspect is connected to
- 28:48the break ins at the three businesses. They said. The suspect, who
- 28:52was identified as Matthew Pancake, was found sleeping near the Big Lots on Roberts
- 29:02Road at four forty seven am. They arrested him and discovered there were four
- 29:04hamsters in his pants, so since he was no longer at the pet store,
- 29:10he was sleeping in front of the big lots. I'm going to assume
- 29:12that he stuffed the hamsters in his pants and then slept with them. That's
- 29:18yeah. When you said leopard print pajamas, I was gonna go with,
- 29:22yeah, you put him in there. He had a rough night at the
- 29:26bar, didn't get any action, went home. What can I do now?
- 29:36Yeah? But I bet in his mind he was thinking when he was
- 29:37going to retell the story to his buddies the next day, it was going
- 29:41to be like, yeah, so it was four girls when in reality hampster
- 29:47wheel on his taint. Yeah. Usually when guys are trying to turn,
- 29:57you know, trying to turn the mississ on, they tried the hell copter
- 30:00thing, not the hempster reel well holding up a little sign that says who
- 30:07wants to ride? You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse
- 30:22on air dot com. You're in the Treehouse, Visit us online at Treehouse
- 30:48on Air dot com. I wanted to also mention this, this is another
- 30:52fun announcement that we get to make inside the Treehouse on the heels of the
- 30:56fun and exciting merch that will be available at the Treehouse School Party at the
- 31:02Foe in Dallas Saturday, July July twenty seventh, from one to four pm.
- 31:07We've got a new rule inside the Treehouse and that is five percent of
- 31:15all gross revenues that come into the Treehouse Podcast Network, we'll go into the
- 31:22Listener's Foundation. One of the most common questions we receive, whether it's email,
- 31:26social media, in person, it is typically is the foundation still going,
- 31:33Which honestly is a flattering and positive question because we haven't had to write
- 31:41a check in almost two years. There's been a couple instances where it was
- 31:49very close that a check was written, but some of the couple of those
- 31:53debts were not exactly in the line of duty, and we are limited to
- 31:59in the line duty deaths only when it comes to police officers and firefighters in
- 32:02DFW. But when people ask that question, the reason why they ask it
- 32:07right now is because we haven't, like I said, haven't had to write
- 32:09a check in almost two years. So that's a good thing. But we
- 32:13still raise money for the foundation. The foundation still has a good chunk of
- 32:16money in it to be used when needed. Unfortunately, it is. It's
- 32:22reality. It's going to be a win, not an iff. But we're
- 32:25ready to roll when we need to and to that in we want to make
- 32:30sure that we keep contributing to it. And so that's why five percent of
- 32:32all gross revenues that come into the Treehouse Podcast network will be donated into the
- 32:38Listeners Foundation. So there you have it. That's some good information for everyone
- 32:43to have. And if you want to advertise inside the show speaking of revenues
- 32:46coming into the show, you can do that. Just contact us Treehouse on
- 32:49Air at gmail dot com. We would love to work together, right Trey,
- 32:52Yeah, absolutely, because the more advertising dollars we can bring in,
- 32:58the more we can donate by into the foundation, and then maybe the more
- 33:02I can afford to fly back to Texas and do more in person events and
- 33:07not have to fly Spirit Airlines where they trap me in Fort Lauderdale. As
- 33:10it is, we take a week and get Let's finish today on something extra
- 33:19stupid, and I'd like to thank you Trey for finding this especially stupid story.
- 33:29A Provo Utah woman has become the fastest mermaid in the world at the
- 33:32mur Olympics. I did not know until you sent me the story trade that
- 33:44the mur Olympics were a thing that's I did not know that either until I
- 33:49ran across the story, but on a lot of of all the success of
- 33:54the hobby horse competitions. Oh yes, that's where the stickhorse people. Uh
- 34:01huh have you seen videos of that? Oh? Yeah, yeah, yeah
- 34:09for our old school listeners. Insert Dan Lewis joke here. A lot of
- 34:16young girls pretend to be a mermaid while swimming in a pool or in the
- 34:21ocean, But one provo Utah woman has made that dream come true and competed
- 34:27in the Olympics. Mia sim Is twenty two. She became the fastest mermaid
- 34:31in the world in May when she competed at the Swiss Olympics in Geneva,
- 34:37Switzerland. The Olympics have been around since twenty fifteen and the competition is held
- 34:43every two years. She's also been mermaiding. I need to reread that sentence
- 34:47because I need to make sure you get every nuance of this story. Okay,
- 34:52you ready. She's officially been mermaiding for ten years, which then begs
- 34:59the question, what have you been doing in your unofficial capacity? And who
- 35:06is the governing body that awards you the designation of official mermaid? Will that
- 35:12be the IOM or the the IMC. Maybe the International mer Olympics Committee.
- 35:17Yeah, the IMC, the International Olympics Committee, uh IMP for short.
- 35:24H. So she's been officially mermaiding for ten years, and she said the
- 35:29my Olympics have really boomed in the past five years. She says, this
- 35:31is elite athleticism you can get out of mermaids. Many mermaids will do pageants
- 35:37or events, but the my Olympics are solely designed to prove athleticism. You
- 35:43want to know what the five events are at the my Olympics, trade yes,
- 35:45please. Number one speed, the athletes race along the top of the
- 35:52water for fifty meters. Number two rescue, the mermaid has to do a
- 35:57twenty five meter submerged swim and rest you a dummy. Number three underwater posing.
- 36:04Each person dives down and poses for a photo and then has to swim
- 36:07away for the next person to take their spot. Our champion said she thinks
- 36:10this one is the hardest. Also figures the competitor has to perform three of
- 36:15ten mermaid figures. And finally, ecology, the athlete dives down and retrieves
- 36:22as much trash as possible in ninety seconds. So it's not only an athletic
- 36:30event. It also would check off your community service box. It's fascinating though,
- 36:37that the winner of the mer Olympics is from a a landlocked state that
- 36:43doesn't have an ocean. You know what, Tray, Sometimes the Disney films
- 36:47just right themselves. You can't be a mermaid. What's the girl's name?
- 37:04Mia? You can't be a mermaid? Miya. You live on a mountain.
- 37:08I'll show you. There's a song and dance number right there. Oh
- 37:19man, can't wait to see who they cast that role with. All Right,
- 37:22there you go. That's the Treehouse episode for today, number one oh
- 37:25four. Thanks for hanging out with us inside the Treehouse. For all things
