- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven point fifty eight through seven
- 0:14Speaker 1: sixty The King of the Day Duke dog Storm appears,
- 0:20Speaker 1: the King of the Night Master Cat Viper emerges, and
- 0:26Speaker 1: the Exterminated Capital the Twirly Hat Crew arrive. In these chapters,
- 0:34Speaker 1: we get to find out a little bit more of
- 0:37Speaker 1: what was going on with this invasion thing that happened
- 0:40Speaker 1: that was really strange, and it turns out that Jack
- 0:45Speaker 1: the Mammoth is a dude, which I really should have
- 0:49Speaker 1: put together by the fact that that mammoth had pigtails.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:15Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:19Speaker 1: this episode. Yeah, so, you guys, you know me. You
- 1:28Speaker 1: know that I'm gonna try and keep it a book
- 1:32Speaker 1: all the time, as much as sometimes it isn't fun
- 1:38Speaker 1: for either of us. And I'm going to tell you
- 1:41Speaker 1: something right now, I don't like this arc. And I
- 1:47Speaker 1: know it's too early to say that, and I maybe
- 1:51Speaker 1: will take it back, and I hope I do, But
- 1:55Speaker 1: as of right now, this is this whole thing. It's
- 2:00Speaker 1: a combination of like really uncomfortable in certain spots, and
- 2:05Speaker 1: also very like by the book, by the one Piece book,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I should really specify in other spots. I think what's
- 2:17Speaker 1: bothering me is that because, like I know, I have
- 2:25Speaker 1: my issues with the dress rosa arc, but I did
- 2:29Speaker 1: really like it overall, and one of the things that
- 2:33Speaker 1: I liked so much about it was that it has
- 2:37Speaker 1: this incredibly bizarre premise off the top that is uh,
- 2:45Speaker 1: really slowly unraveled for you. You know, it's a you
- 2:53Speaker 1: don't even realize going into it that, Yeah, it does
- 2:57Speaker 1: seem super bizarre because it's a specifically a miss. It's
- 3:00Speaker 1: not just bizarre in the way that one piece will
- 3:04Speaker 1: sometimes inexplicably do wild shit. It's weird because something is
- 3:12Speaker 1: specifically being done to people and we are only very
- 3:17Speaker 1: gradually allowed to see what that is and have it
- 3:20Speaker 1: uncovered for us. And there's little hints along the way.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's a pretty neat setup. And you'll know, I love
- 3:28Speaker 1: a mystery, and the whole memory thing. While granted, the
- 3:34Speaker 1: power that allows this thing to happen is incredibly ope,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and I stand by that, it's still made it all
- 3:41Speaker 1: a very fun puzzle. And so I think that dress
- 3:48Speaker 1: ros Up being such a cracking little mystery has made
- 3:53Speaker 1: coming back to this type of arc extra painful because
- 3:58Speaker 1: when I say this type of art, what I mean
- 4:00Speaker 1: is we stumbled onto a town that was being like
- 4:06Speaker 1: plagued by particular pirates. The people have been driven into
- 4:12Speaker 1: the countryside or into hiding in despair, have been horribly mistreated.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Everything was great until they got here, and now we
- 4:23Speaker 1: need you to save us. And we've just seen this before.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And it's in general one of the more boring premises
- 4:34Speaker 1: to me, Even like the Minx, which I was excited
- 4:39Speaker 1: about initially, it turns out like, you know, they're just
- 4:43Speaker 1: a different like race of beings and they are otherwise
- 4:49Speaker 1: like they have their own type of power, YadA YadA.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But there's really no mystery there. You know. I find
- 4:55Speaker 1: it mysterious because I think it is still very weird,
- 4:59Speaker 1: but there's no unsolved part of this. It is what
- 5:03Speaker 1: it is, and that's sort of it. The biggest mystery
- 5:06Speaker 1: really is how there came to be a whole civilization
- 5:10Speaker 1: on the back of an elephant. And the civilization, by
- 5:15Speaker 1: the way, is like the elephant itself is a thousand
- 5:20Speaker 1: years old. I think they said so. The civilization is
- 5:27Speaker 1: older than that of the colonized United States. I never
- 5:32Speaker 1: like to say it's older than the history of the
- 5:34Speaker 1: United States because just implying that our history only begins
- 5:38Speaker 1: when we are settled by Europeans is really gross, but
- 5:42Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So anyway, I think that's
- 5:46Speaker 1: part of what's sort of falling flat for me is
- 5:49Speaker 1: that I was tickled initially with dress Rosa by the
- 5:55Speaker 1: bizarre quality of a lot of what was going on,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and the bizarre thing kind of wears off almost immediately,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and then it is just seems to be a sort
- 6:06Speaker 1: of rope situation. The one exception is these people aren't
- 6:12Speaker 1: just like being tormented by pirates who came in here
- 6:15Speaker 1: because they want to run the place and take all
- 6:16Speaker 1: their money. They are here looking for a specific person,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and we don't really know why they want that person,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and that we do not know where that person actually
- 6:27Speaker 1: is either, because they don't seem to know who this
- 6:31Speaker 1: samurai ninja guy is. And I don't know if it's
- 6:38Speaker 1: like that there is potentially somebody among them that is
- 6:44Speaker 1: this dude and they don't know that, and the guy
- 6:46Speaker 1: has sort of hidden himself. It does not seem in
- 6:50Speaker 1: any way like we've got a guy who is being
- 6:57Speaker 1: hidden by them. I don't get these sense from the
- 7:00Speaker 1: way that they are reacting to the questioning that they
- 7:04Speaker 1: actually have information that they're continuing to hide. It seems
- 7:08Speaker 1: like they genuinely do not know who they are talking
- 7:10Speaker 1: about or why, like anything about the situation. So that's
- 7:17Speaker 1: kind of the only ongoing mystery that we've got is
- 7:22Speaker 1: why they're after this one guy and where is that guy? Actually?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Why do they think he's even here, Because that's the
- 7:32Speaker 1: biggest question is these dudes seem very very sure, and
- 7:40Speaker 1: I cannot decide if that sure quality is coming from
- 7:46Speaker 1: this dude just being out of his mind, because as
- 7:49Speaker 1: we see later, there is a strong suspicion of like
- 7:54Speaker 1: I think he says later like if you haven't found
- 7:57Speaker 1: him yet, it's because you don't want to. He says
- 8:00Speaker 1: something that implies that they are like refusing to cooperate
- 8:05Speaker 1: in a purposeful way, and the dude that he is
- 8:08Speaker 1: talking to at the time is sort of like, oh, no, okay,
- 8:13Speaker 1: this guy is just like wildly unbalanced. So maybe that's it,
- 8:19Speaker 1: but I don't know. It's like I would find it
- 8:22Speaker 1: more interesting if they had a genuine reason to think
- 8:25Speaker 1: this dude is here. But I don't know, you, guys,
- 8:30Speaker 1: I cannot. I don't want these dudes to actually be
- 8:36Speaker 1: harboring anybody and lying for them, just because I don't
- 8:40Speaker 1: like to see anybody suffering on behalf of another person usually,
- 8:47Speaker 1: But I also don't want them to just give up
- 8:49Speaker 1: the guy. So I'm hoping that there is some other
- 8:53Speaker 1: explanation that the Samurai is here but not with them,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and that that gets revealed soon, because if the Samurai
- 9:02Speaker 1: is here and not with them and saw the way
- 9:05Speaker 1: that they are being tormented and didn't come forward, that
- 9:09Speaker 1: would be a real bummer. I don't I don't know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: you guys. I just sort of I've been thinking about
- 9:18Speaker 1: all of the potential possibilities, and it just seems like
- 9:22Speaker 1: the Samurai has got to actually be here, right like
- 9:27Speaker 1: he's He's got to Actually, there's just no way that
- 9:33Speaker 1: we're not going to have him here when there is
- 9:37Speaker 1: both a group of pirates looking for him, and Condrea
- 9:39Speaker 1: and guinimon A here potentially also looking for him. Dude's
- 9:44Speaker 1: gonna have to be here, right So why why? Though?
- 9:49Speaker 1: That's the question anyway, So in the chat, Saraphim says, oh,
- 9:57Speaker 1: this is going to be weird. Whether or not to
- 10:00Speaker 1: translate in in Urashi and Neko Mamushi literally translate to
- 10:08Speaker 1: dog storm and cat viper or not is one of
- 10:11Speaker 1: the biggest translation debates, and not used to hearing the
- 10:14Speaker 1: English versions. Florian says, well, and where is Sanji? I
- 10:19Speaker 1: keep completely forgetting about Sanji. Florian. That is a good point,
- 10:29Speaker 1: Florian said of Saraphim. Very certain or unhinged as fuck
- 10:32Speaker 1: could be both true. Florian says, but yeah, it is
- 10:35Speaker 1: more than one piece formula in a way. I like
- 10:38Speaker 1: it though. After two years of Dress Rosa, this is
- 10:41Speaker 1: the thing I really was afforded like, despite it taking
- 10:44Speaker 1: as long as it took for me to cover Dress Rosa.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Obviously I was able to speed through Dress Rosa in
- 10:50Speaker 1: a way that y'all weren't, so I can definitely see
- 10:54Speaker 1: how you would not at all be like, you know, well,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I am in an unfair position here, totally agree, understand. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I think it's just like I uh, that was the
- 11:14Speaker 1: part about Dress Rosa that I liked so much is
- 11:18Speaker 1: also the part that gets sort of subsumed by the
- 11:23Speaker 1: fight with the Flamingo. As well, so that's part of it.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Is like just this feeling of I want more of
- 11:30Speaker 1: the thing that I liked the best and less of
- 11:33Speaker 1: the fight that I found very repetitive. And I think that,
- 11:37Speaker 1: you guys, there are obviously exceptions, you know, obviously, so
- 11:46Speaker 1: I don't I hesitate to even say this, but I
- 11:50Speaker 1: think I kind of have to if I'm going to
- 11:52Speaker 1: be trying to be real. I think the least favorite
- 11:57Speaker 1: part for me of this show is the combat. I
- 12:01Speaker 1: just there are times when it's very fun, usually when
- 12:08Speaker 1: that combat is interspersed with some really comedic dialogue, which
- 12:15Speaker 1: is why the fights between like Frankie and Senor Pink
- 12:19Speaker 1: hit so bad. I just loved the two of them
- 12:23Speaker 1: so much, and their whole attitude while fighting is so
- 12:29Speaker 1: funny that when everything feels extremely serious, everybody is going
- 12:37Speaker 1: so hard jumping over to these two fucking weirdos fighting
- 12:42Speaker 1: each other and then pausing their fight because a cat
- 12:45Speaker 1: walked up, or you know, just like I adore that
- 12:51Speaker 1: sort of action. But I think that overall, combat is
- 12:58Speaker 1: just not really fun for me to watch in this show,
- 13:03Speaker 1: due to the fact that it is treated as such
- 13:07Speaker 1: a either a placeholder or a great spot to drag
- 13:13Speaker 1: things out really bad, or it can get very very repetitive.
- 13:21Speaker 1: It often is littered with the dialogue from like a
- 13:25Speaker 1: villain who I find either not that intimidating or I
- 13:31Speaker 1: just don't feel like the dialogue is doing anything for
- 13:34Speaker 1: the scene. Sometimes the dialogue it feels like, didn't we
- 13:39Speaker 1: already hear this? And you know in so many words? Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: they will say the same thing in different words over
- 13:45Speaker 1: and over, and so I think these three episodes, that's
- 13:50Speaker 1: part of what also missed for me. I just I
- 13:53Speaker 1: watched these episodes twice. I watched them first on Tuesday night,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and then I watched the again this afternoon before recording.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And I'll be honest, I had a hard time focusing
- 14:07Speaker 1: because I just kept losing interest and realizing that I
- 14:11Speaker 1: had been on my phone and missed something and going
- 14:13Speaker 1: back and rewinding. And I did that both times I watched.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I had to rewind several times each viewing session because
- 14:23Speaker 1: I kept spacing out, and it just felt like what
- 14:28Speaker 1: we were getting was just lots of the same sort
- 14:32Speaker 1: of fights and the introduction of new characters who look
- 14:38Speaker 1: very similar to other characters. So it's hard for me
- 14:40Speaker 1: to like even keep track of who is who or
- 14:46Speaker 1: care And due to this all being about a particular
- 14:50Speaker 1: person that they're searching for that we haven't met and
- 14:53Speaker 1: we don't know why they want them being invested in
- 14:56Speaker 1: all of it is just not really for me. It's
- 15:01Speaker 1: just not happening. So overall, I will say that I
- 15:08Speaker 1: am not actually like super into this plot enough to
- 15:15Speaker 1: like I feel like after having watched it, what I
- 15:18Speaker 1: would say after all the rewinds is the equivalent of
- 15:21Speaker 1: having watched it three times. I still feel like I
- 15:24Speaker 1: barely absorbed what was going on other than they're here
- 15:28Speaker 1: for this. Samurai Jack doesn't believe that they don't have
- 15:31Speaker 1: him or that he is insane, and he breaks down
- 15:36Speaker 1: the entire city and also tortures a bunch of people
- 15:40Speaker 1: to try and get them to tell him where they are,
- 15:42Speaker 1: even though it seems pretty clear they're not lying to him.
- 15:46Speaker 1: And eventually the straw Hats show up save the day,
- 15:51Speaker 1: and now we don't have to worry because they're gone.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They left like as soon as y'all got here. They
- 15:58Speaker 1: did take Sanjy suck, but at least they aren't bothering
- 16:02Speaker 1: us anymore. Now. I'm so sorry. I just looked over,
- 16:10Speaker 1: Florian says, the one time in One Piece, animals get
- 16:13Speaker 1: beaten up and Natasha doesn't care. You have a point, Florian.
- 16:22Speaker 1: He followed it up with JK, but like kind of
- 16:24Speaker 1: not JK, Like that's actually a solid point. I think
- 16:28Speaker 1: it is the fact that because they are like so
- 16:31Speaker 1: humanoid and can talk and are very like regular people,
- 16:37Speaker 1: it doesn't have that effect of helplessness that usually an
- 16:41Speaker 1: animal getting beaten up, because you know, like that's the thing.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Animals are helpless and they are trusting a lot of
- 16:48Speaker 1: the time, and that's what pulls my heart strings, is
- 16:51Speaker 1: that particular thing that we exploit when we hurt animals,
- 16:55Speaker 1: But when they have like person hood, it just feels like, you,
- 16:58Speaker 1: guys can electrocute him. I'm not worried about you, you
- 17:01Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like it just doesn't But like
- 17:03Speaker 1: that's a fair point, though, Saraphim says, also, this is
- 17:07Speaker 1: one Piece, one is anything ever, what you initially think
- 17:09Speaker 1: it is fair. That is a mixture of just being
- 17:12Speaker 1: a classic excuse me, sorry, I'm burping. Classics shown in
- 17:16Speaker 1: manga slash anime where the fights are the main feature
- 17:19Speaker 1: and the anime drawing out the fights for padding Saraphim says,
- 17:22Speaker 1: the beast Pirates left for the most part before the
- 17:25Speaker 1: straw Hats showed up. Jack left to go try and
- 17:27Speaker 1: rescue do Flamingo from the marines right right, right and
- 17:31Speaker 1: then and but what's his face was still there Sheep's head.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I cannot deal with the fact that this guy's name
- 17:36Speaker 1: is Sheep said. I know that you all have explained
- 17:38Speaker 1: that this is like a pun about a card game,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and that's like, I believe you and sure, but also
- 17:45Speaker 1: it's just all I can think is like it just
- 17:53Speaker 1: it's a literal, you know what I mean. It's just
- 17:55Speaker 1: like I know that it's about the card game, but
- 17:58Speaker 1: also it is sort of about what he can do
- 18:02Speaker 1: and looks like. And it makes me think of Mary
- 18:05Speaker 1: as well, and how Mary was like a Sheep said
- 18:09Speaker 1: as also, and it's just funny. So all right, I'm
- 18:15Speaker 1: going to go through this. But like, honestly, I feel
- 18:19Speaker 1: like I have talked about most of what these three
- 18:22Speaker 1: episodes are on, and even though there is there are
- 18:27Speaker 1: additional details and all of that. When you go through
- 18:30Speaker 1: these episodes beat by beat, I don't really find most
- 18:34Speaker 1: of these details that exciting or interesting or particularly changing
- 18:37Speaker 1: the plot in any direction. So let's see, I'm picking
- 18:44Speaker 1: back up where we So we pick up that's right,
- 18:47Speaker 1: with everybody beating the ship out of Loofy because he
- 18:50Speaker 1: said Ninja and Duma. I can't remember the name of
- 18:55Speaker 1: the town, but yeah, they're beating the hell out of
- 18:58Speaker 1: him and covering his face up while he's trying to
- 19:01Speaker 1: say it again, and Wana, that's what it is, and
- 19:06Speaker 1: Wanda is like, well, okay, so you're familiar with that term,
- 19:10Speaker 1: then you must know something. And I really loved Nanny
- 19:14Speaker 1: is looking over at her, smiling with that like sweat
- 19:18Speaker 1: drop thing as she punches Loofy, but like off in
- 19:24Speaker 1: such direction that it's almost like she's pretending that she's
- 19:26Speaker 1: not doing it. And she says, Oh, don't worry, we're
- 19:30Speaker 1: teaching him now about makeshift, and then she keeps punching him,
- 19:35Speaker 1: and later on Lufy when he stands up, his whole
- 19:38Speaker 1: face is busted and he says, I don't think I
- 19:41Speaker 1: like this makeship thing anymore, which I thought was honestly
- 19:45Speaker 1: really funny. Nanny smiling brightly as she continues to fuck
- 19:51Speaker 1: Loofy up is never not funny as far as I
- 19:55Speaker 1: am concerned. That's that's prime comedy in this show. I
- 19:58Speaker 1: love it. Rook tries to say, is like, oh, no, no,
- 20:03Speaker 1: he didn't say ninja, he said injured. I think you
- 20:06Speaker 1: just misheard him. He's worried about your injured duke, and
- 20:11Speaker 1: Wanda says not ninja. Oh of course, how foolish of me.
- 20:16Speaker 1: That is so kind of Utia. I just want to mention,
- 20:20Speaker 1: like the uta, the little extra couple of syllables after
- 20:25Speaker 1: saying you makes watching this so confusing. Sometimes it's like
- 20:32Speaker 1: it's not really a big deal. You wouldn't think, but
- 20:34Speaker 1: like unless I am watching it with the subtitles on,
- 20:38Speaker 1: or I should say, the captions, which make it very
- 20:43Speaker 1: clear that it's just like you dash and then whatever.
- 20:47Speaker 1: When you're just watching it without that, I keep being like,
- 20:50Speaker 1: what did he just say and then realizing like, oh,
- 20:52Speaker 1: it's another Yeah, okay, he's doing the thing again. But
- 20:58Speaker 1: when we eventually meet Dogstorm, it funny because they walk
- 21:01Speaker 1: in and I think it's Zorro who says something like
- 21:05Speaker 1: he's huge, and I couldn't help but laugh because like,
- 21:09Speaker 1: once we see him, he's a big dude. But like,
- 21:12Speaker 1: we have met so many huge people in this world,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and it just doesn't feel like he is particularly bigger
- 21:22Speaker 1: than anybody else that we have met who is also
- 21:25Speaker 1: like abnormally large in size. It just was the sort
- 21:28Speaker 1: of thing where I guess, maybe in comparison, but there's
- 21:31Speaker 1: still there's other minks that they've met that are quite
- 21:35Speaker 1: large too. Anyway, Dogstorm is a lot more like he's
- 21:45Speaker 1: a lot more chill than I was expecting him to be. It's, uh,
- 21:52Speaker 1: you know, kat Viper feels like somebody who is itching
- 21:59Speaker 1: for a fight, kind of champing at the bit a
- 22:01Speaker 1: little bit, you know, and Dogstorm seems like the guy
- 22:05Speaker 1: who's Okay, I'm trying for peace. I'm trying to calm
- 22:09Speaker 1: everybody down. Won't we all just chill out and get
- 22:12Speaker 1: along for a second, you know? So anyway, I uh,
- 22:22Speaker 1: also I should mention he is trying to eat Brook too.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I just need everybody to start protecting Brooke a little
- 22:31Speaker 1: bit more because I don't like the way we're so
- 22:33Speaker 1: casual about it. At one point, Frankie says to Brooke,
- 22:37Speaker 1: like he's a very important guy. You should just let
- 22:39Speaker 1: him bite you, And He's like, do you see the
- 22:41Speaker 1: size of him? He would crack crack my bones and
- 22:45Speaker 1: kill me. Like and agree. Don't let him eat brook please.
- 22:52Speaker 1: The seraphim says, well, he's bigger than any of the
- 22:54Speaker 1: other minks other than other than the Nami's new bed.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Oh write that big guy. Well, yeah, like that's what
- 23:02Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, I would expect this to be less
- 23:06Speaker 1: impressive after meeting that dude. You know that guy's a
- 23:11Speaker 1: he's quite large. And also we just met an elephant
- 23:15Speaker 1: literally big enough for a hole. But whatever, it doesn't matter,
- 23:20Speaker 1: all right. So before we actually reach dog Storm, we
- 23:27Speaker 1: meet what is the name of this guy, the guy
- 23:32Speaker 1: who is in charge of the what do they call
- 23:37Speaker 1: like the Three Musketeers, but I think they're called something else.
- 23:41Speaker 1: He's got the curly mustache and the hat with the
- 23:45Speaker 1: feather and you know, the whole He's got the whole
- 23:49Speaker 1: look going on here. I'm trying to find the spot
- 23:52Speaker 1: here here it is full power Shillian, a lion mink,
- 23:58Speaker 1: the captain of the dog Storm Musketeers. Oh okay, so
- 24:01Speaker 1: that's a much less exciting name than I was thinking. Shilion.
- 24:07Speaker 1: So he apparently is very disgusted with the men that
- 24:15Speaker 1: he is training. Oh, everybody is saying Sicilian in the chat.
- 24:21Speaker 1: This is saying shillion shi shi l I A N
- 24:27Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if that's like a translation thing or
- 24:30Speaker 1: because Sicilian has a particular connotation to it, and maybe
- 24:36Speaker 1: that's what we're going for, but I don't know that's interesting,
- 24:43Speaker 1: but anyway, so, yeah, he's training these dudes and is
- 24:47Speaker 1: very upset the way that the scene starts the same
- 24:49Speaker 1: yelling kindness, romance, love, babies, sugar and honey, and evidently
- 25:00Speaker 1: these guys have been too romantic in his presence. He says,
- 25:06Speaker 1: never say those sweet sugary words around me again, or
- 25:11Speaker 1: I'll tear your windpipes out, pull it together, and climb
- 25:15Speaker 1: back up. And one of the guys says, that's pretty harsh,
- 25:19Speaker 1: but cool, and then they all begin to think about
- 25:23Speaker 1: how like this is how he shows us his love.
- 25:27Speaker 1: We owe everything to him. We're so lucky he took
- 25:31Speaker 1: such soft hearted weaklings like us under his wing. That's
- 25:35Speaker 1: true kindness. And he is up there going did you
- 25:41Speaker 1: not fucking understand me? And he is standing there holding
- 25:46Speaker 1: an entire house over his head, looking down at them
- 25:51Speaker 1: and is like, I finished my sentence literally seconds before
- 25:56Speaker 1: you guys used the very words I told you to
- 25:59Speaker 1: keep out of your mouth and he chucks this at
- 26:03Speaker 1: them and they're just like, well, sorry about it, We'll
- 26:07Speaker 1: never say anything sweet again. And this is when he says,
- 26:12Speaker 1: see that, you, Gara, don't. This is a moment where
- 26:18Speaker 1: I had to take a second be like what oh oh,
- 26:21Speaker 1: he's saying a different thing at the end of his
- 26:24Speaker 1: you words, which you know. I know that there's like
- 26:30Speaker 1: some kind of convention that this is based on here,
- 26:33Speaker 1: but I just find it very confusing when it's everybody
- 26:37Speaker 1: doing it after just one word in particular, and that
- 26:40Speaker 1: it's a different thing for each of the people doing
- 26:43Speaker 1: it as well. So he begins to like when they
- 26:50Speaker 1: come up behind him, it almost looks like he's going
- 26:52Speaker 1: to attack the way that he leaps in the air,
- 26:55Speaker 1: but then he lands on all fours and has his
- 26:57Speaker 1: head pressed to the ground and just saying to Lufy,
- 27:01Speaker 1: thank you so much for all of your help. There
- 27:03Speaker 1: is nothing we can do to repay you. And I
- 27:08Speaker 1: think that it's Wanda who says he always goes one
- 27:13Speaker 1: hundred percent. He never holds anything back when it comes
- 27:16Speaker 1: to his work, and Lufy says, maybe you should hold
- 27:21Speaker 1: something back, which you guys, I don't know why that
- 27:28Speaker 1: got me so bad, but it was just so fun.
- 27:30Speaker 1: It was such a loofy thing to say, you know
- 27:32Speaker 1: what I mean of, just like hey, bud, chill, just
- 27:36Speaker 1: like a little Saraphim says, Tia is used by the women,
- 27:42Speaker 1: Gara by the men. Okay, okay, will you remind me
- 27:47Speaker 1: what this is? Is this the thing that's like done somewhere?
- 27:51Speaker 1: I don't know because I feel like I remember you
- 27:54Speaker 1: saying that this is based on something, but I don't
- 27:58Speaker 1: remember the details of it. But yeah, it's like, I
- 28:01Speaker 1: just it bugs me. Guys. I think that honestly, I'm
- 28:05Speaker 1: in this stage where and I know that I'm not
- 28:09Speaker 1: the only one to experience this. There has been like
- 28:15Speaker 1: a big change in the way that we have begun
- 28:20Speaker 1: mixing the sound on TV and movies versus the way
- 28:25Speaker 1: that we used to because things were done they was like,
- 28:30Speaker 1: you know, because of a lot of things being done digitally.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Now there's just a different approach to it, which has
- 28:38Speaker 1: made depending on what you're watching on certain things, it's
- 28:44Speaker 1: like more difficult to get the dialogue over the sounds
- 28:49Speaker 1: or the background music or whatever that's happening in the scene.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And I think that I have begun to find that
- 28:58Speaker 1: frustrating enough that adding anything into anything that makes understanding
- 29:04Speaker 1: without using captions like more difficult. I just instantly lose
- 29:10Speaker 1: my patience with it. And it's not necessarily even what's
- 29:14Speaker 1: happening in this show, because the show might have not
- 29:18Speaker 1: even been made after that mixing thing changed. I think
- 29:22Speaker 1: it's it's my overall attitude. But yeah, I kept on
- 29:28Speaker 1: just being like, like stop, it's like a mental stumble.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I guess as I'm listening to it and I'm processing it,
- 29:36Speaker 1: I always trip and have to catch myself whenever they
- 29:40Speaker 1: say anything with you. Saraphim says, it's just a verbal
- 29:43Speaker 1: tick he gave to the Minx. Okay, I thought that
- 29:45Speaker 1: maybe this was based on something, but yeah, So he
- 29:51Speaker 1: does his thing where he like rubs up against Loofy
- 29:54Speaker 1: quite a bit, who is starting to just be like
- 29:56Speaker 1: I don't know about all this, and they're allowed in
- 30:01Speaker 1: to see dog Storm. Wanda comes up and just hugs
- 30:05Speaker 1: his arm because he is so large. She can't even
- 30:09Speaker 1: fully like wrap our hands her arms around his arm
- 30:14Speaker 1: because it's that gigantic, and he thanks all of them
- 30:21Speaker 1: for their help. We Eventually he passes out and gets
- 30:24Speaker 1: back up again it's a weird thing where Lufy is saying, wow,
- 30:28Speaker 1: you must be really strong, and Wanda acts as if
- 30:34Speaker 1: Lufy's saying this is somehow insulting, even though I don't
- 30:39Speaker 1: get that, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be,
- 30:41Speaker 1: Like you saying that is almost as if you're trying
- 30:45Speaker 1: to provoke a fight or something. Dogstorm like when Wanda
- 30:50Speaker 1: tries to say he's the most powerful warrior we have,
- 30:53Speaker 1: is like, well, I still lost the fight, so praising
- 30:58Speaker 1: how strong I am is cruel right now. And she
- 31:02Speaker 1: says that wasn't your fault, the way that all of
- 31:06Speaker 1: that shook out. It's ah, you know that that is
- 31:10Speaker 1: not down to you being weak. This is when he
- 31:13Speaker 1: spots broke and starts drooling. Let's see, oh right, here's
- 31:20Speaker 1: the part where she starts explaining. He says something about
- 31:23Speaker 1: Shanks and that he used to sail with him, and
- 31:28Speaker 1: just as Lufi is saying this hat belongs to him,
- 31:31Speaker 1: he passes out. It's already six o'clock. What is he
- 31:36Speaker 1: a baby? I love us up saying that, and we
- 31:45Speaker 1: find out that yeah, it's Dogstorm during the day and
- 31:49Speaker 1: cat Viper at night, and the two of them used
- 31:55Speaker 1: to rule together, but they are They don't get a
- 32:00Speaker 1: long for some reason. And apparently kat viper his territory
- 32:06Speaker 1: is mostly in the is, like the whale forest specifically,
- 32:11Speaker 1: so that's where he tends to be. To say that
- 32:16Speaker 1: they hate each other, it would be an understatement. If
- 32:19Speaker 1: they met face to face, it's possible they would fight
- 32:22Speaker 1: to the death. We don't get much detail on why
- 32:28Speaker 1: that is the case. She just says one rules under
- 32:31Speaker 1: the sun. I'm trying to find the exact spot because
- 32:34Speaker 1: there's that break here. Yeah, here it is. Whatever happened
- 32:38Speaker 1: between them, they don't talk about it, but at any rate,
- 32:43Speaker 1: the two of them possess equal power both as kings
- 32:46Speaker 1: and as mighty mink warriors. They end up fighting. They
- 32:50Speaker 1: ended up fighting so often they decided to never see
- 32:52Speaker 1: each other again. So one rules from six am to
- 32:57Speaker 1: six pm and the other from six pm to six am,
- 33:03Speaker 1: which I was. It's just funny, guys, When how I
- 33:10Speaker 1: want to know how many places don't do daylight savings.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I'm just curious because like right now it is four
- 33:25Speaker 1: thirty nine pm here, sun is bright and shining. Sun
- 33:30Speaker 1: won't go down until a little after eight pm today
- 33:35Speaker 1: and It's weird because I went to a class yesterday
- 33:38Speaker 1: that normally, when I get to the class, I was
- 33:41Speaker 1: getting there when it was already dark out started at
- 33:43Speaker 1: seven pm. But this time I went and got out
- 33:47Speaker 1: and it was still light outside, so it felt strange.
- 33:51Speaker 1: And I was just looking at this and like, obviously,
- 33:53Speaker 1: I'm not faulting this for not taking into account different
- 33:56Speaker 1: like time changes and all that, but it did get
- 33:59Speaker 1: me thinking about how there's going to be a time
- 34:01Speaker 1: of year when six pm the sun's already set, depending
- 34:07Speaker 1: on where you're living, you know, And how insane it
- 34:11Speaker 1: is that we function this way. Why don't we just
- 34:14Speaker 1: leave time alone and let it be what it is.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I hate it so much anyway, not relevant, but yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 1: this is when uh Sicilian. I'll call him that if
- 34:30Speaker 1: both of you called him that, and it's easier for
- 34:33Speaker 1: me to remember. And it sounds less silly now that
- 34:37Speaker 1: you've called him Sicilian. If I were to call him Sshilion,
- 34:43Speaker 1: it literally just sounds like I'm trying to do an
- 34:47Speaker 1: impression of what's his name? Sorry, guys, that dog sparking
- 34:52Speaker 1: Sean Connery. So I just I don't think I can
- 34:56Speaker 1: say Shashilian now without making myself giggle, So I'm gonna
- 35:03Speaker 1: just keep that shit to myself and say Sicilian. But yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 1: he comes in and he explains that, like the people
- 35:11Speaker 1: that are nocturnal like me, he falls asleep at full power,
- 35:18Speaker 1: which I was sort of puzzled by this, and then
- 35:22Speaker 1: I realized, like, oh, yeah, because it's supposed to be, like, oh,
- 35:24Speaker 1: it just got dark. So I guess it's supposed to
- 35:27Speaker 1: be that you get all kind of muddled when you
- 35:32Speaker 1: are nocturnal, but you're like trying to function with the
- 35:36Speaker 1: people who are awake during the day, and just all
- 35:40Speaker 1: of this kind of screws people's rhythms up. And I
- 35:47Speaker 1: kind of felt that about this, like it just it's
- 35:50Speaker 1: something that I think it just sort of gets me
- 35:52Speaker 1: because I relate to it personally as somebody who has
- 35:55Speaker 1: often been I don't I wake up naturally at around
- 36:00Speaker 1: eight thirty or nine am. That's waking up at a
- 36:05Speaker 1: good time for me. I don't go to bed until
- 36:08Speaker 1: usually around midnight, and that's just naturally how my schedule
- 36:15Speaker 1: has fallen. And that isn't really great for a lot
- 36:21Speaker 1: of regular normal jobs out there. They just you know
- 36:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like it has felt difficult my whole
- 36:31Speaker 1: life that my body's rhythm is set up that way,
- 36:34Speaker 1: and there are other people who haven't even worse where
- 36:37Speaker 1: there are people who are naturally just awake throughout the
- 36:39Speaker 1: night and you've kind of got to find a job
- 36:42Speaker 1: that like you can work overnight, and those jobs are
- 36:45Speaker 1: out there, and you know, but it's just like the
- 36:48Speaker 1: world is built for people who work nine to five jobs,
- 36:51Speaker 1: have weekends off, and have daytime to go get things
- 36:55Speaker 1: like doctor's appointments and grocery shopping done, and if you
- 36:58Speaker 1: don't live in side of those, you don't naturally function
- 37:03Speaker 1: well in that kind of schedule. You've just got to
- 37:08Speaker 1: make yourself in order to get certain things done. And
- 37:13Speaker 1: it's not like a huge deal, but it's difficult. Sometimes
- 37:19Speaker 1: it just adds an extra level of frustration. When other
- 37:26Speaker 1: folks who do naturally wake up at six thirty am
- 37:31Speaker 1: and go to bed by ten thirty and have a
- 37:35Speaker 1: nine to five job, they don't ever run into that
- 37:38Speaker 1: kind of friction because that's expected. And that's the way
- 37:42Speaker 1: that we have got most functionality in our world. Rotating around,
- 37:49Speaker 1: you know, not rotating around, you know what I'm saying,
- 37:53Speaker 1: Revolving around that's the one. Seraphim says. It's one of
- 37:58Speaker 1: those things that made sense of the time conserve resources
- 38:02Speaker 1: during World War One and just was around long enough
- 38:05Speaker 1: no one wanted to change it despite it not making
- 38:07Speaker 1: sense anymore like most traditions and quotes. Yeah, I just
- 38:11Speaker 1: feel like I have not talked to a single person
- 38:15Speaker 1: in my life that thinks daylight savings is smart or helpful.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Scientific studies show so many increased problems around changes in time,
- 38:28Speaker 1: like you know, people being less alert due to sleep changes,
- 38:34Speaker 1: so there are more car accidents, there are more mistakes
- 38:38Speaker 1: in the workplace, there's just more moodiness, you know, and
- 38:42Speaker 1: everything about what they have studied regarding it points to
- 38:46Speaker 1: it being something that negatively affects us. And it's just
- 38:50Speaker 1: it's very distressing to me how much information we can
- 38:56Speaker 1: have about a subject and yet ignore it and just
- 39:01Speaker 1: keep doing the thing that obviously doesn't work. There's cases like,
- 39:06Speaker 1: obviously I am somebody who knows that it's better for
- 39:08Speaker 1: me to exercise more, to eat more fruits and vegetables
- 39:12Speaker 1: and increase my protein intake versus my COVERO hydrate. I
- 39:15Speaker 1: can know all that and not do it right, because
- 39:18Speaker 1: that all requires a type of willpower that is an
- 39:22Speaker 1: ongoing thing that can be difficult to sustain. But when
- 39:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about something like the changing of the jump
- 39:31Speaker 1: ahead fall back, that's a rule that we change once
- 39:35Speaker 1: and institute this new change and then it's done and over.
- 39:39Speaker 1: You know, it's not an ongoing thing that we have
- 39:41Speaker 1: to So anyway, I don't get knowing this is bad.
- 39:47Speaker 1: It makes everything from our personal lives to how the
- 39:51Speaker 1: economy functions worse, and yet we're just still like, yeah,
- 39:55Speaker 1: but we should keep doing it. Like ugh, anyway, I'm
- 39:58Speaker 1: so sorry, guys, I said I I wouldn't do that,
- 40:00Speaker 1: and then I went back and I got back on
- 40:02Speaker 1: it again. So this is when we go back into
- 40:07Speaker 1: the flashback of the attack and all of these guys.
- 40:14Speaker 1: We have the fun moment where Wanda jumps in and
- 40:18Speaker 1: starts to take a bunch of guys out. Here comes Carrot.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Carrot really is like particularly looking like a real Marvel
- 40:27Speaker 1: style superhero. There's just something about her that's like keeps
- 40:30Speaker 1: speaking to me on a level, and I'm not sure
- 40:33Speaker 1: what it is. If it's maybe just that she sort
- 40:34Speaker 1: of reminds me of Squirrel Girl. But there's also this
- 40:40Speaker 1: black cat with a sword, and he looked pretty dope,
- 40:45Speaker 1: and they're all doing their electricity thing. But then you
- 40:48Speaker 1: hear a scream and we look up and see a
- 40:53Speaker 1: there's a mink that I couldn't tell if he was
- 40:55Speaker 1: supposed to be like a fox or a dog, but
- 40:59Speaker 1: he has been gripped by a dude who has a
- 41:01Speaker 1: crab claw. And there's another guy that Wanda is fighting,
- 41:07Speaker 1: and he has got like bullshorns on his head. And
- 41:12Speaker 1: so this is something that like didn't even really register
- 41:18Speaker 1: for me much until I was really like paying attention
- 41:25Speaker 1: more this episode when this guy with the bullshorns, he says,
- 41:30Speaker 1: try my wolf grip, and he punches forward and his
- 41:37Speaker 1: hand literally turns into the head of a wolf, and
- 41:43Speaker 1: it's like got glowing yellow eyes and it's snarling and
- 41:49Speaker 1: ready to bite her. He only does it with one hand.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I'm not sure if he is able to do it
- 41:55Speaker 1: with three hands or if it's uh, you know, but
- 42:01Speaker 1: the fact that Jack can turn into a mammoth and
- 42:06Speaker 1: that all of the other dudes here seem to have
- 42:09Speaker 1: some sort of animal ability or quality to them obviously
- 42:15Speaker 1: has to be significant. I don't know how, but it's
- 42:20Speaker 1: a weird like, are these people part mink or It's
- 42:27Speaker 1: like if they were part mink, I wouldn't think that
- 42:32Speaker 1: it would manifest as something that can go and come
- 42:35Speaker 1: as they please. Like sheep said, he can turn his
- 42:39Speaker 1: fists into horns, right, that's not like you have horns
- 42:49Speaker 1: for fists. They can come and go. That is a
- 42:54Speaker 1: devil fruit thing. But are these guys all people who
- 43:04Speaker 1: have eaten smile fruits salad? It is because like it's
- 43:10Speaker 1: just these are weird, weird powers. And the dude who's
- 43:15Speaker 1: got like the wolffist has bulls horns on his head
- 43:20Speaker 1: like it's it's sort of all over the place. The
- 43:23Speaker 1: other dude just has like a crab claw, Like what
- 43:27Speaker 1: is that? We don't even have any crab beings amongst
- 43:33Speaker 1: the minx. They are furred mammalian animals, so we haven't
- 43:38Speaker 1: had a giant crab wandering around. I guess he could
- 43:41Speaker 1: be part fishman, and I don't remember if we had
- 43:45Speaker 1: that kind of fishman perhaps, But yeah, something's weird about
- 43:50Speaker 1: these guys, Seraphim says. And you said we had no
- 43:53Speaker 1: mystery here. That's fair, that's fair. Yeah, I guess this
- 43:58Speaker 1: is so here come the three dog storm musketeers, which
- 44:05Speaker 1: dogskatiers really feels like it would be better, and I
- 44:07Speaker 1: kind of want to say that, but they're not actual dogs,
- 44:10Speaker 1: so maybe that's why. But one of them is a
- 44:12Speaker 1: zebra and he's got like long, flowing blonde like hair
- 44:17Speaker 1: band kind of hair. And then we have Sicilian in
- 44:22Speaker 1: the middle with his flowing beard slash mane of hair.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And then we've got what looks like a little rat man.
- 44:30Speaker 1: He's got a very pointy face with you know, pointy teeth,
- 44:35Speaker 1: little rat nose and whiskers, and he has holes cutting
- 44:39Speaker 1: his hat to let his ears out. So these guys
- 44:42Speaker 1: turn up and basically are he says. All other musketeers
- 44:47Speaker 1: lead the citizens to the forest immediately, and we have
- 44:53Speaker 1: this weird effect where the camera begins to tremble, I think,
- 44:56Speaker 1: just in an effort to show us how everybody demobilizes
- 45:00Speaker 1: at the same time. So, yeah, the musketeers go in
- 45:08Speaker 1: and start to take these guys down, but it's, uh yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 1: like I said, it goes pretty left. There is a
- 45:24Speaker 1: series of like, oh, you have the upper hand. Wait, no,
- 45:29Speaker 1: we do, We're doing something now. They when they run in,
- 45:32Speaker 1: they get interrupted by the Duke who rolls in on
- 45:37Speaker 1: the crocodile that Wanted was riding earlier. I'm assuming, and
- 45:41Speaker 1: everybody is like, oh, the duke is here. Everything is
- 45:45Speaker 1: going to be fine now, And we get the rainstorm
- 45:52Speaker 1: that happens in the next episode, which, considering that they
- 45:59Speaker 1: all have electricity powers, is kind of fortuitous. So a
- 46:06Speaker 1: lot of these dudes wind up going down. But like
- 46:10Speaker 1: I said, it's a lot of back and forth where
- 46:12Speaker 1: it feels like, oh, we've managed to get the upper hand,
- 46:16Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden they managed to surge back.
- 46:20Speaker 1: One of the ways they are able to do this
- 46:23Speaker 1: is that Jack turns back into his human form, which
- 46:26Speaker 1: is apparently just like partially it's the unexpected factor, but
- 46:30Speaker 1: also being a human he is able to do a
- 46:33Speaker 1: different style of fighting that it is easier for him
- 46:35Speaker 1: to defend with evidently, and the main thing that is
- 46:45Speaker 1: like on their side that the rain eruption as they
- 46:48Speaker 1: call it, really does throw a wrench in things for
- 46:53Speaker 1: many concerned Throughout this, I'm trying to get because like
- 46:59Speaker 1: the fight that happened in the middle here, I'm almost
- 47:01Speaker 1: out of time, so I'm just like trying to make
- 47:04Speaker 1: sure that I don't miss anything. Specifically about the fight. Yeah,
- 47:10Speaker 1: we've just got a lot of the electricity field being
- 47:15Speaker 1: used here. And I love dog Storm. At one point
- 47:23Speaker 1: he's like yelling up and says something about how every
- 47:27Speaker 1: nation has its share of fools, and as he says that,
- 47:31Speaker 1: there's like a cloud that passes over him, and then
- 47:33Speaker 1: when it continues it, he's gone, And all of a sudden,
- 47:38Speaker 1: you hear when the moon goes up. This is my turf,
- 47:41Speaker 1: and here comes cat Viper. Now, cat Viper, it's a
- 47:47Speaker 1: sort of weird name to me due to dog Storm
- 47:51Speaker 1: is also a weird name. I'll say that, but at
- 47:54Speaker 1: least he is a dog, and Storm is clearly meant
- 47:56Speaker 1: to be a sort of badass, intimidating, you know, Like
- 47:59Speaker 1: I don't like it works, but I get what you're
- 48:01Speaker 1: going for. Cat Viper is just two animals put together.
- 48:05Speaker 1: So that's a weird one and I don't love it.
- 48:09Speaker 1: But it's also what they're called in the American dub.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So I'm just doing that because you know, it's what
- 48:16Speaker 1: I'm going to remember. And cat Viper, he isn't what
- 48:24Speaker 1: I was expecting. I guess I was sort of thinking
- 48:27Speaker 1: that cat Viper was going to look more like Sicilian,
- 48:32Speaker 1: be more lionlike. He has certainly got a mane of sorts,
- 48:40Speaker 1: but uh, in terms of his overall coloring, it's sort
- 48:46Speaker 1: of giving like Heathcliff, the cat from the comic strip.
- 48:53Speaker 1: He has a flattened face that reminds me sort of
- 48:57Speaker 1: of like a Persian cat, and he's smoking a pipe,
- 49:03Speaker 1: which is kind of great. I don't know why, but
- 49:07Speaker 1: it just made me think of how like, you know,
- 49:11Speaker 1: the dog Minx are all about wanting to chew on bones,
- 49:17Speaker 1: so thereafter Brooke, but when you think about what the
- 49:21Speaker 1: deal is with cats, catnip is in there, and I
- 49:26Speaker 1: could definitely see if cats were more human like, then
- 49:31Speaker 1: maybe they would be into smoking a pipe packed with
- 49:35Speaker 1: catnip instead of tobacco. Perhaps. You know. He's also got
- 49:41Speaker 1: like purple eyes like the Irises, and it is really
- 49:45Speaker 1: really cool. I liked his design in that sense. And yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 1: he's like not only the coloring, but his tail also
- 49:58Speaker 1: is sort of giving Heathcliff a little bit. Or I'm
- 50:02Speaker 1: trying to think, is it Heathcliff or Garfield that I'm
- 50:04Speaker 1: thinking of? But Garfield's a lot more orange. I feel
- 50:06Speaker 1: like Heathcliff is quite yellow and he says something about
- 50:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't let a samurai step foot on this island,
- 50:18Speaker 1: and even if one dared, I would chew through every
- 50:21Speaker 1: limb on his body. So that doesn't feel just like
- 50:28Speaker 1: I don't know where he is. He didn't come here.
- 50:32Speaker 1: It feels like this whole thing with you don't want
- 50:34Speaker 1: to talk about samurai or wanna anywhere near him or them.
- 50:42Speaker 1: It seems like this goes back even further than just
- 50:46Speaker 1: they were here looking for a samurai. It feels like
- 50:49Speaker 1: there's some sort of ongoing beef, so I'm curious about that.
- 50:54Speaker 1: But yeah, he's I just wanted to describe his outfit
- 50:57Speaker 1: really quick as well, because he's got a long scar
- 51:02Speaker 1: running down one side of his face, which I'm assuming
- 51:05Speaker 1: he got fighting dog storm at one point, and he
- 51:12Speaker 1: is wearing a pair of very high waisted I would
- 51:18Speaker 1: call them shorts, but I'm not sure if they're really
- 51:20Speaker 1: shorts or not. It's hard to say when somebody's built
- 51:23Speaker 1: to the scale this cat is because he's basically got
- 51:26Speaker 1: a spherical body, and so it's sort of like they're capris,
- 51:33Speaker 1: and that he has a pale pink what do they
- 51:38Speaker 1: call that that you wear with like a tuxedo cumber bund.
- 51:41Speaker 1: It kind of looks like a cummer bund that he's
- 51:43Speaker 1: got wrapped around plain white shirt. There's a tag around
- 51:47Speaker 1: his neck and then draped over his shoulders in the
- 51:51Speaker 1: way that ODIs seems to love. Is like a Paisley
- 51:55Speaker 1: patterned jacket of some kind. And I enjoy the look
- 52:01Speaker 1: of this guy, I'll be honest. So he is standing
- 52:05Speaker 1: there after having knocked Jack on his ass, and then
- 52:09Speaker 1: Jack opens his eyes and this is when he recovers
- 52:13Speaker 1: from having been laid out by as a regular dude
- 52:21Speaker 1: beginning to fight back. I love when the cat Viper
- 52:30Speaker 1: reacts and just says that don't impress me much. And
- 52:35Speaker 1: obviously that is not the reaction Jack was expecting, and
- 52:39Speaker 1: he says something like I will destroy everything, and cat
- 52:42Speaker 1: Viper just says, yeah, all right, go ahead and try it. Bitch.
- 52:46Speaker 1: He doesn't say bitch, but it's there. You could hear it.
- 52:50Speaker 1: So then the fight continues and we get into the
- 52:55Speaker 1: next episode with the two of them dueling it out
- 53:01Speaker 1: here and cat Viper, despite being quite large, maybe the
- 53:06Speaker 1: tenth of the size of Jack, he is even when
- 53:10Speaker 1: Jack is in human form, cat Viper is considerably smaller,
- 53:17Speaker 1: and Jack is fighting with despite being able to turn
- 53:20Speaker 1: into a mammoth, despite having like that particular weapon when
- 53:28Speaker 1: he turns completely when he is a human, he does
- 53:32Speaker 1: not fight with anything animal like coming out of his
- 53:36Speaker 1: body in the way that his friends do. It seems
- 53:40Speaker 1: like he, like his friends, we're humans and we can
- 53:47Speaker 1: turn parts of ourselves into animals for the fight. Whereas Jack,
- 53:52Speaker 1: it's either he is fully the animal or he is
- 53:54Speaker 1: fully human, and it doesn't seem like he can do
- 53:56Speaker 1: a sort of in between thing here. Oh my god,
- 54:03Speaker 1: fucking cat Viper is so is such drama. He's looking
- 54:11Speaker 1: at and says, let's see it kill me. Then to
- 54:14Speaker 1: cat Viper, who is at first just like enjoying his
- 54:18Speaker 1: little pipe there and smiling, And as soon as Jack
- 54:21Speaker 1: starts to laugh, he's like, you better not be mocking me.
- 54:26Speaker 1: But as he is about to turn and fight, he's like, oh,
- 54:30Speaker 1: the sun came up. We'll continue this tonight, but don't
- 54:33Speaker 1: get killed by the fucking dog, because I want to
- 54:36Speaker 1: fight you. And he turns around and he just grabs Beppo.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I don't know that Bepo necessarily is nocturnal. I think
- 54:45Speaker 1: that he's just like considered to be, and so you
- 54:49Speaker 1: know he's being dragged along on this as well. But
- 54:55Speaker 1: this is when dog Storm comes running back and it's
- 55:00Speaker 1: just like, all right, I got my rest, so it's
- 55:03Speaker 1: time and he heads back into the into the fight.
- 55:09Speaker 1: We jump back in time or forward in time. I
- 55:12Speaker 1: guess it would be to Wanda, who is telling the story,
- 55:18Speaker 1: and she says that man is truly a monster. She's
- 55:23Speaker 1: talking about Jack and just basically Lufy says, so even
- 55:29Speaker 1: this big dog duke couldn't take that take down that
- 55:32Speaker 1: guy from Kido's crew. That's crazy, and she says, but
- 55:36Speaker 1: the same applied to Jack as well. He started to
- 55:39Speaker 1: struggle and he wasn't able to keep up juggling both
- 55:42Speaker 1: of them. He started to get worn down and he
- 55:47Speaker 1: finally decided to unleash a weapon because he got desperate,
- 55:52Speaker 1: which was a gas. And eventually we find out that
- 55:57Speaker 1: this is a gas made by Caesar. He is responsible
- 56:02Speaker 1: for this somehow. And when Caesar turns up like he
- 56:07Speaker 1: seems to know what the minks are as well. So
- 56:12Speaker 1: I thought that was interesting because like when the straw
- 56:15Speaker 1: hats are like, who are these guys, He's like their
- 56:17Speaker 1: fucking mink tribe, don't you know anything? And I was like, huh, okay,
- 56:21Speaker 1: because I was willing to think that, like, yeah, Caesar
- 56:24Speaker 1: made something and then it got sold, and then it
- 56:26Speaker 1: got sold. You know. That's the way that like weapons
- 56:29Speaker 1: dealing works, is that you make a thing and you
- 56:32Speaker 1: can sell it to somebody. But that doesn't mean that
- 56:33Speaker 1: person's going to actually be the one who uses it.
- 56:37Speaker 1: They potentially are going to hold on to it, hand
- 56:39Speaker 1: it off to somebody, you know, who knows. So I
- 56:41Speaker 1: wasn't sure if Caesar had any real connection to any
- 56:43Speaker 1: of this at all. But at this point, Wanda explains
- 56:50Speaker 1: that because everybody got paralyzed with this gas, they were
- 56:55Speaker 1: able to torture them because they couldn't fight back. And
- 57:01Speaker 1: we're crucified, and she says crucified. Now they're chained up
- 57:09Speaker 1: to these ex'es, but they're not getting nailed through their
- 57:12Speaker 1: hands and feet or anything. And I honestly assumed crucification
- 57:19Speaker 1: in like required the nailing. And I realized as I
- 57:24Speaker 1: was watching this, like, I don't know if that's true.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Maybe it's just being hung on a cross and the
- 57:29Speaker 1: method of hanging doesn't matter. It's just like, you know,
- 57:34Speaker 1: the overall the intent of doing that and leaving them
- 57:39Speaker 1: there is really the thing. I don't know. But you know,
- 57:44Speaker 1: they're tortured and interrogated for god knows how long, and
- 57:49Speaker 1: they all of course are continuing to say, we don't
- 57:52Speaker 1: know who this guy is, and we don't have him here.
- 57:55Speaker 1: We can't tell you anything. And she says the slaughter
- 57:59Speaker 1: continent need for an entire day. And on the sixth day,
- 58:03Speaker 1: I guess he must have had his fill of destruction
- 58:05Speaker 1: or grown tired of hearing the same answer over and over.
- 58:08Speaker 1: He left behind a few dozen men and suddenly departed
- 58:11Speaker 1: from the island. And this is when Frankie says, it
- 58:16Speaker 1: sounds like you're lucky to be alive. Dog Storm, who
- 58:21Speaker 1: wakes up here for a second, says that he says
- 58:27Speaker 1: something about fate. The truth became apparent after reading Jack's
- 58:32Speaker 1: obituary in the newspaper, and he holds it out to
- 58:37Speaker 1: Loofy and once again, let's see trying to find the spot.
- 58:45Speaker 1: The day that Jack finally departed was the day you
- 58:48Speaker 1: trounced do Flamingo. I realized he left this land in
- 58:51Speaker 1: order to liberate dof Flamingo from captivity. They must have
- 58:55Speaker 1: been bound by some deep connection. In other words, the
- 58:59Speaker 1: ones who truly drove that ruthless creature from our home
- 59:02Speaker 1: was you Gara. And then he falls asleep again instantly,
- 59:07Speaker 1: which is funny. So, yeah, this is the guy that like,
- 59:12Speaker 1: there's an obituary, but it doesn't seem like anybody really
- 59:16Speaker 1: thinks this dude is dead. Wanda definitely doesn't. And despite
- 59:24Speaker 1: the fact that maybe he's not dead, at least he
- 59:27Speaker 1: left here. So they're counting their blessings and I think
- 59:29Speaker 1: they're hoping that they have seen the last of him.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Let's see. Oh my god, Trapper, I forgot his name,
- 59:39Speaker 1: you guys, Oh my god, that was awful. Chopper says.
- 59:42Speaker 1: The day after Do Flamingo was defeated was the same
- 59:45Speaker 1: day we arrived. And we get the moment of them
- 59:48Speaker 1: coming in and just finding this place all like fucked up.
- 59:53Speaker 1: They first are, of course, overwhelmed by the sight of
- 59:57Speaker 1: this fucking elephant, and they manage to use Caesar to
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: carry them up the side. I really enjoy every way
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: that they manage to utilize Caesar's weird, gaseous body to
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: accomplish things, and how undignified it is every time it's
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: very very funny. I always like it. And yeah, they
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: come in there and they just see all of this destruction.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: In some places there are still like bodies around. There
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: is a girl that I think I had thought was Carrot,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: but in seeing this, it's the one that has like
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: that squirrel tail that they are running and chasing and
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: just like what is going on. And when they reach
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: the town, that gas is still there. And yeah, there's
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: a bunch of bodies still laying around and they're like
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: not dead. Well I don't know if maybe some of
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: them are, but this particular guy who is a tiger
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: is still alive. And when Caesar notices like the gas
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: is like one of his, he seems he says, seems
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: like this batch didn't completely finish the job. So I
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: guess I was supposed to kill everybody, but it didn't.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: It just paralyzed them. So I don't know. But yeah,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: this guy says, my name is Pedro. Please tell me
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: you're not their allies. We need your help, please, I
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: beg of you. Duke dog Storm and Master Cat Viper
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: are in need of urgent medical assistance. And we go
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: further along with the camera and we get to see
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: how many other people are like fucked up from having
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: been tortured and crucified, and dog Storm it looks like
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: is missing a leg. I think he's just straight up
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: like gotten his whole leg cut off, which that is
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: a bummer. It depends I guess how much of a
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: bummer it is in comparison to like the way that
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: it was handled with Kiros and it didn't seem to
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: affect anything about him in any way. Maybe it's not
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: that big a deal, But if I'm looking at it
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: from the situation of like any rational regular person losing
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: a whole leg, seems like a big deal. I don't know.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: So yeah. So that is the end of the episode.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: So next episode, I'm hoping that we're gonna be moving
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: forward with things a little bit and not having to
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: go into too many more flashbacks. I would like for
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: us to start getting the show on the road and
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: figuring out how to get Sanjy back and all of
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: this fingers crossed. But we will have to see. But
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: thank you guys very much, Florian and Sarah I'm for
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: hanging out with me. I appreciate you both, and thank
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: you Florine for commissioning this one. Appreciate all of you
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: out there listening, and until next time to the Loo, motherfuckers.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled network podcast.
