- 0:00Speaker 1: This is kiss breakfast hey we want to take your
- 0:03Speaker 1: calls 13 1065 were you dumped before the wedding wedding's
- 0:09Speaker 1: all planned you're gonna get married but you get dumped
- 0:13Speaker 1: and the wedding doesn't go forward 13 1065 if you
- 0:17Speaker 1: got a story what do you got here about that nat.
- 0:19Speaker 2: All right i want to tell you about this girl
- 0:21Speaker 2: from the uk katherine jones so she was in love
- 0:24Speaker 2: set to get married earlier this month and it all
- 0:27Speaker 2: went horribly wrong because a week out from her wedding,
- 0:30Speaker 2: the guy who she'd been with for seven years just
- 0:33Speaker 2: decided he got cold feet and didn't want to take
- 0:35Speaker 2: part in the wedding anymore, didn't want to get married.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I know, it's awful. But Catherine was like, oh, well,
- 0:41Speaker 2: I've just spent all these months... planning a wedding in
- 0:44Speaker 2: Italy and all this money. So she decided the show
- 0:47Speaker 2: must go on. She got married anyway, but she went
- 0:49Speaker 2: through with the wedding. All her friends and family were
- 0:51Speaker 2: there and she had the best night of her life.
- 0:53Speaker 2: So I thought we would talk to her this morning
- 0:56Speaker 2: and find out why she made the decision to still
- 0:58Speaker 2: go ahead with it and how the night actually was.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Hello, Catherine.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Hello, morning.
- 1:03Speaker 4: So you married yourself then? Is that what you did
- 1:06Speaker 4: when you walked down the aisle?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Is that the deal? Not quite. I didn't have a
- 1:10Speaker 3: ceremony in the end, but everything else, it was a
- 1:12Speaker 3: three-day event. So it was in Italy. So it was
- 1:15Speaker 3: like the welcome dinner, the wedding day, and then the
- 1:20Speaker 3: pool party afterwards. So everything remained the same. The only
- 1:24Speaker 3: thing that we removed was the ceremony.
- 1:25Speaker 2: What was his reason for breaking up with you? Or
- 1:28Speaker 2: did you not really get a legitimate one?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Honestly, not really. It was all very... I think he's
- 1:35Speaker 3: just an avoidant. Like he couldn't even look me in
- 1:37Speaker 3: the eye. He was just like, I just don't think
- 1:39Speaker 3: we should get married. I just don't think we should
- 1:41Speaker 3: get married. There wasn't really a proper reason given.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Can I throw something at you? I've said it a
- 1:48Speaker 4: number of times and most people agree. Men won't usually
- 1:51Speaker 4: leave unless there's another woman. Was there another woman?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Not that I know of yet.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I love the yet.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Only time will tell.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah. And the thing is, you could sit there and
- 2:04Speaker 2: stew on it for days and weeks and years and
- 2:07Speaker 2: try and work out the reason. Or you can do
- 2:09Speaker 2: what you did and just go, you know what?
- 2:11Speaker 4: Who cares?
- 2:12Speaker 2: I'm going to move on with my life.
- 2:13Speaker 1: That's true. And what was the day like?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Was it sad? Like, were you crying or was it
- 2:18Speaker 2: a happy time? Like, how did it actually feel to
- 2:20Speaker 2: go ahead with the thing that was supposed to be
- 2:22Speaker 2: you and your new husband?
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I think the fact that we were creating funny content
- 2:27Speaker 3: that has now gone viral. Yeah. That, you know, made
- 2:30Speaker 3: us laugh throughout. Don't get me wrong, there was moments
- 2:33Speaker 3: of tears. On the wedding day, I didn't actually cry.
- 2:36Speaker 3: But on the day before, when everyone first arrived, I
- 2:39Speaker 3: did cry.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Because it's all your nearest and dearest arriving in this
- 2:42Speaker 2: beautiful location in Italy. That's, yeah, that would be emotional.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I've got a big question, though.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Didn't he pay for half of this?
- 2:50Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. He did pay for some of
- 2:52Speaker 3: it and he will eventually pay for more of it.
- 2:55Speaker 4: So he's still going to pay even though he called
- 2:57Speaker 4: the wedding off and wasn't part of the wedding.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You're like, no, you've still got to pay.
- 3:01Speaker 3: As he deserves.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got to say, I agree with Catherine here.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Have you had any conversation or communication with him since
- 3:10Speaker 2: the breakup chat?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's hard because obviously we've got a
- 3:15Speaker 3: full life together.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I was going to say, you would have been living
- 3:17Speaker 2: together and everything.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We have to sell the house. We've
- 3:21Speaker 3: got cats together.
- 3:22Speaker 4: You can cape them.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Of course. Absolutely. Cape the cats. But I mean, just
- 3:30Speaker 3: there's a lot of kind of actual things. logistics that
- 3:33Speaker 3: we need to go through together so we have communicated
- 3:36Speaker 3: but it's been solely around that it's not really.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Business only yeah and it's gone viral he's obviously seen
- 3:43Speaker 4: that it's gone.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Viral how does he feel about that he's not happy
- 3:46Speaker 3: he's he's shy and private anyway which is probably why
- 3:50Speaker 3: he got cold feet but you know i i If
- 3:53Speaker 3: you're going to do that to me, then you can
- 3:55Speaker 3: expect payback.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Absolutely. Hey, I want to know, are you going to
- 3:58Speaker 2: go on a honeymoon as well? Create yourself to a honeymoon?
- 4:01Speaker 3: I've been on a honeymoon with my mum. So we
- 4:04Speaker 3: called it mummy moon.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I actually love this for you. I mean, this thing
- 4:08Speaker 2: happens to people all the time, right? Like I actually
- 4:11Speaker 2: know people who have been left very close to their wedding.
- 4:13Speaker 2: So I really like the fact that instead of like
- 4:16Speaker 2: crying and feeling sorry for yourself, you just kind of
- 4:19Speaker 2: went about your life and celebrated you, really.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I'm not going to let any man
- 4:25Speaker 3: ruin my life.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Well, there we go.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Well, good on you and a good message for everyone.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Just marry yourself. Go through your own wedding. Catherine Jones,
- 4:34Speaker 4: thank you and enjoy all the attention you're going to get.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I hope you find out why he left you.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And I hope you find another guy who actually goes
- 4:42Speaker 2: through with a wedding and treats you better.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Fingers crossed. All right.
