  Speaker 1: the listeners' ears and reach their hearts and minds and

  Speaker 1: be able to apply these verses to their lives. In

  Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray, amen. So there's

  Speaker 1: We're going to be in 2 Peter chapter 3 this evening,

  Speaker 1: or this morning or afternoon, depending on where you're tuning

  Speaker 1: hear along, but as I always say, it's okay if

  Speaker 1: you just want to listen. That's fine. Just don't have

  Speaker 1: any distractions and don't multitask because it's The moments that

  Speaker 1: we really read these verses and get into it and
• 1:05
  Speaker 1: allow the spirit to take over, we can be easily distracted.

  Speaker 1: And that's why I really like to tune in. And

  Speaker 1: I only make it 15 minutes. I used to make
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: podcasts 45 minutes to an hour. Now I can completely
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: understand the intention span of an average person that that's
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: not going to be an easy transition to life. go
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: from an hour to 15 minutes for me because there's
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: just so much to cover and I do a really
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: good job with 15 minutes so all I need is
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: 15 minutes of your time even if that's 15 minutes
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: a day even if that's even if that's only a
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: couple hours a week but as we make time for
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: things we love We have to also make time for
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: things that we don't necessarily love. Full heartedly. Over consistent time.

  Speaker 1: Of not only just reading the Bible. But praising Jesus.

  Speaker 1: Being able to be in prayer. Three essentials. So I've
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: given you enough time if you want to go ahead
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: and get on your Bibles. Or your Bible apps. And
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: read along as we hear along. Because I'm a listener too.

  Speaker 1: I want to make that clear. And I'm not perfect.

  Speaker 1: I never will be. That's why I serve Jesus. Amen.

  Speaker 1: So 2 Peter chapter 3 states. And it's titled first.

  Speaker 1: I'm sorry. The Lord Jesus will certainly return to this world.

  Speaker 1: My friends. This is the second letter that I have
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: written to you. I have written both these letters to
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: help you to understand some things. You already know these things.
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: Now I want you to think about them carefully. I
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: want you to remember the message from God that his
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: own prophets spoke a long time ago. Also, I want
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: you to remember what our Lord Jesus told you to do.
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: He is the one who saves us. He sent us,
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: his apostles, to teach you his message. What is the
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: purpose of What is the mission? The message is the mission.

  Speaker 1: The purpose of fulfilling God's kingdom. You can only enter
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: through having the relationship with Jesus. Because you are not perfect.
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: You are not an angel. You are of this world.
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: You and I both. And even though we were put
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: together by God, we were separated from God. to see
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: if he here's the thing I want to break this
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: down just a little bit more before I get into
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: verse 3 we were separated from God after being created
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: in the womb and that's what really dedicates our love
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: for God when we turn back to him our creator
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: God had us created to worship him Now that doesn't mean, oh,
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: I just go to church and I listen to the
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: worship songs and the sermon and that's it. You also
• 4:31
  Speaker 1: have to take what you've obtained through prayer, meditation, Bible study,
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: and apply it outside of the church service. Apply it
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: in your daily lives. It's a choice to put on
• 4:47
  Speaker 1: that consciousness. Let's read deeper. The first thing that you
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: should understand is this. In the last days of this world,
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: some people will laugh at you because you believe in God.
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: I've been through that, even as recently. These people will
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: do whatever bad things they want to do. 2 Peter 3,
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: verse 4 states, They will say Christ promised that he
• 5:10
  Speaker 1: would return to this world, but he has not returned.
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: I've heard that in a shelter. Our ancestors have already died,
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: but since God made the world in the beginning, nothing
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: has changed. God doesn't change. We do, though. We change
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: our behaviors. We change our jobs. We change our friends.
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: And we also change the way that we treat people.
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: We're not going to make time for people that we
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: don't like. And if you do, I feel really sorry
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: for you that you're that much of a people pleaser.
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: And I'm not here to judge you or condemn you.
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: But you should be pleasing God the same way you
• 5:54
  Speaker 1: please those people. There's so many people in your circle
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: that actually make fun of you. They actually laugh at you.

  Speaker 1: And you don't care. I've been there. I'm not just
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: saying you. I'm saying we. Verse 5 states, these people
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: choose to forget things they really know. A long time ago,
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: God spoke his word and he made the sky and
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: the earth. He caused land to come through water. He
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: made the land to be separate from the water. Also,
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: God used water to destroy the same world long ago.
• 6:32
  Speaker 1: He spoke his word, and he covered the land with water. Hmm.
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: Let that sink in. What God created, he can also
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: take it away. And he normally does. And we wonder why...
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: We are anxious and stressed and depressed. It's because God
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: has given us so much more time. And we still
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: choose this world. For 20 years I was a believer.
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: 20 years. Jumping in and jumping out. So I know
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: how the enemy works. I know how the lukewarm works.
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: Because I used to be those things. I had to
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: become those things to know that nope, that's not for me.
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: To be separated from my creator. The despair that I
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: was able to obtain from all of that. It's mind
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: boggling why I did what I did continuously for 20 years.
• 7:39
  Speaker 1: And I had to be beaten up. I had to
• 7:41
  Speaker 1: realize that God was enough. And I didn't have to
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: have the approval of people. I didn't have to fit in.
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: Verse 7. But. God has also spoken his word to
• 7:53
  Speaker 1: say what will happen to the world in a future time.
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: The sky and the earth that we see now will
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: continue for a time. But God is keeping them until
• 8:06
  Speaker 1: the day when he will destroy them with fire. On
• 8:10
  Speaker 1: that day, he will judge all people. He will destroy
• 8:16
  Speaker 1: the people who have turned away from him. And we
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: all have. I don't care how much of a follower
• 8:23
  Speaker 1: of Christ you are. I don't care how much of
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: a believer you are. The best part about understanding that
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: nobody is better than anybody. Follower or believer. You never
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: boast in yourself or your abilities that God has given you.
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: You give it all to the Holy Spirit. The glory
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: to Jesus. How do you trust God? You lean on
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: the consciousness of Christ. I really look forward to doing
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: this Bible study tomorrow with my girlfriend. Truthfully, like, she's
• 9:02
  Speaker 1: already my wife. And that's because we pray together. And
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: also it's because we choose to stay together. We met
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: long distance. We video chat. I am very much in
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: love with her. And I know she's in love with me.
• 9:18
  Speaker 1: Does that mean that we get along all the time?
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: Does that mean that it's sunshine and butterflies every day?
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: It is completely not. But that's the thing. Just like
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: I have to choose to put on the consciousness of Christ,
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: I have to choose to be with the love of
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: my life. I could be selfish and I could go
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: and do my own thing. I could have plenty of
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: other girlfriends. I could have multiples. But I choose to
• 9:47
  Speaker 1: have one. And I choose to go all in. And
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: that's the same thing we have to do when it
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: comes to loving Christ and making things right. I can't
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: stress it enough and I can't put it into words
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: enough to be able to describe to you how urgent
• 10:08
  Speaker 1: it is now that you turn away from your ways
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: take it from somebody that did it for 20 years
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: I'm not just some average joke No, I'm a rebel
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: with a conscience now. You know, I'm a rebel with
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: a conscience. So keeping that in mind, realizing that we
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: all have a journey. We all have a choice. We
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: can continue to be separated from our creator, which look
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: where that's gotten us. Look at how far that has
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: gotten us. Being able to be connected to the source,
• 10:49
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit, Now, this is my experience, strength, and hope.
• 10:52
  Speaker 1: It might not be yours, but it can be for free.
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: Let's jump into it a little bit more. Christians must
• 10:59
  Speaker 1: be ready for Christ to return. I always stay ready,
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: and I say this a lot. If you stay ready,
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: you don't have to get ready. Let's see where we're
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: at in time. We're all right. All right, cool. So
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: here we go. We still got time. My friends, here
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: is one thing that you must remember in the Lord
• 11:31
  Speaker 1: God's mind. One day and 1,000 years are the same.
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: For Him, 1,000 years is like a single day. 2
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: Peter 3, verse 9 states, The Lord is not being
• 11:43
  Speaker 1: slow to do what He has promised to do. Some
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: people may think, He is being slow to do it,
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: but he is being patient with you. Ooh, let me
• 11:53
  Speaker 1: stop right there. We all want God and Jesus and
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit to do all these things, right? Fix
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: all these things and transform us, right? Like a genie
• 12:05
  Speaker 1: in a bottle and put no effort, no work into it.
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: That's not how this works. That's not how this works.
• 12:14
  Speaker 1: That might be how the devil works. And then guess what?
• 12:17
  Speaker 1: He takes it away from you. He comes through the enemy, right?
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: But it also comes in a disguise. And once that
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: disguise tends to, and it will, fall off. The more
• 12:36
  Speaker 1: and more that you stay connected to the Holy Spirit,
• 12:40
  Speaker 1: the more and more the other spirits are afraid of you.
• 12:46
  Speaker 1: You can just start talking about Jesus Christ. And your faith.
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: Your testimony. Just start talking about it. And see how
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: the people around you react. I'm not saying that you
• 13:03
  Speaker 1: can't be friends with somebody that is not a believer.
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: I'm going to go ahead and close out basically right
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: there on that. Because I only got less than two minutes.
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: You can be friends with non-believers. I mean, Jesus did that.
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: But here's the thing. Jesus also was aware how broken
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: and sinful the world was and the people were. So,
• 13:32
  Speaker 1: being as if we're naive and we are ignorant to
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: the fact that our love and loyalty for people that
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: don't necessarily have the same love or loyalty for us
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: We have to keep that in mind. Not everybody is
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: going to have the same faith. We do not judge.
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: Leave that up to God. In this last minute I
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: want to dedicate it to the love of my life.
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: And even though. Some days some nights. I'm a pain
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: in the ass. And yes I said. I come as
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: I am. Just like Jesus said. But if I didn't care.
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: I wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't allow you to have
• 14:21
  Speaker 1: access to me. Like Jesus has access to me. I'm
• 14:25
  Speaker 1: so connected. To the Holy Spirit. That it. And I
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: say it. Because it is a force. Not to be
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: reckoned with. A force to be united with. Bringing the unity. Unity.
• 14:46
  Speaker 1: Of you and I. Sweetie I will love you for
• 14:49
  Speaker 1: the rest of your life. Whether you love me or not.
• 14:53
