Latest / Aspergers & Autism Podcast [The Aspie World] AuDHD / Donald Trump Announcement Today - Tylenol Cause Autism
Transcript
- 0:01OK, guys, I think, yeah, I, I want to address the crazy in the
- 0:04room right now. Trump comes out and says Tylenol
- 0:11or acetaminophen causes autism when taken during pregnancy.
- 0:18There's a lot to unpack. Let's let's get into it.
- 0:23OK, what on where on earth is going on?
- 0:25Right. So I'm autistic.
- 0:27I, I'm an autistic ADHD, you know, man, born in 1986.
- 0:34My mum, she fell when she was pregnant with me and I think
- 0:39that was the only trauma that was caused during the time that
- 0:42she was pregnant with me, to me whilst I was in utero.
- 0:45Now, look, there are some things that we do know scientifically
- 0:54and, and I'll go through those right now.
- 0:56So scientifically, the raw data shows that there are certain
- 1:00genes that are involved in autistic individuals that are
- 1:07present for autism. They call them autism genes.
- 1:10And those genes actually turn up as markers when autistic
- 1:16individuals have genome screenings, right?
- 1:18They say, oh, these people have these genes.
- 1:19It's kind of like they call it the autism gene because it's
- 1:22typically aligned with that. I don't know the exact names of
- 1:25these genes, but just type in the autism genes you'll you'll
- 1:28see them. But this isn't A cause of
- 1:31autism. This is just a by product
- 1:32scientifically that we know that autistic individuals have these
- 1:35genes. OK, causes of autism.
- 1:38We don't have any, We don't know any no known causes.
- 1:44However, we do know a few different things.
- 1:47So 1 is that when oxygen is starved to the baby either
- 1:54during birth, during the birthing canal or in utero, what
- 1:59happens is the the oxygen starvation actually causes
- 2:04slight swelling of the cerebral cortex in the brain a little
- 2:07bit. And where this has been
- 2:10recorded, autism has also been present in the infant once you
- 2:15know, they can assess them. So that's we know this.
- 2:21And there was a smaller study done a few years back where they
- 2:26looked at women who'd taken the the Tylenol drug or the
- 2:34acetaminophen. And when they were pregnant,
- 2:40those, those children had swelling in utero of the
- 2:45cerebral cortex. And This is why the mothers took
- 2:50the Tylenol, not the Tylenol didn't cause the swelling of it.
- 2:54And then those children were recorded to having autism,
- 2:57right? Because again, of this swelling.
- 2:59Now when Trump stands up with RFK and there's, there's a lot,
- 3:05there's a lot to this, but we'll get through it.
- 3:07This is an unedited raw video from me.
- 3:09Just my thoughts because everyone's going crazy online
- 3:11about it. And rightfully so.
- 3:12I think there's a lot to talk about.
- 3:16They stood up on stage in the White House, you know, a
- 3:19supernation. The Americans like they lead the
- 3:22world in many ways, you know, and they they come in, they come
- 3:28up and they say Tylenol during pregnancy is the smoking gun
- 3:33we've been looking for is causing many autism kind of
- 3:35diagnosis, which is crazy to think about because you got to
- 3:39think about the people who have taken a acetaminophen during
- 3:43pregnancy and those babies are not autistic, right?
- 3:46So how do they come to this? So I was expecting them to say,
- 3:50here's the scientific data, here's the evidence.
- 3:54There you go. But unfortunately we never got
- 3:58that. We just got Trump saying, Hey,
- 4:00Tylenol's bad, you know, don't take it.
- 4:05You know, all all these kind of rhetorics like, and I know that
- 4:08they've kind of got a war on for like the the gunning for the big
- 4:10pharma right now. And, and I do agree that
- 4:13sometimes big pharma can be, you know, too big and they're for
- 4:17profit not to help people, right?
- 4:19And that can happen, but it happens in everything, right?
- 4:22So that is kind of crazy. And the claim that just just a
- 4:30blanket statement that Tylenol causes autism, I mean, there's
- 4:32no you, you just can't, right? It's just not going to happen.
- 4:36So if we look at the bigger picture, though, what we can't
- 4:39lose sight of is RFK wanting to a, that there's kind of two
- 4:45objectives, right? A, they want to find a, a link
- 4:47or a cause. Like why is there an increasing
- 4:49risk risk? Why is there an increasing
- 4:51diagnosis of autism than never before?
- 4:54Why are we increasing? And there are a few different
- 4:56answers to this, right? That we already kind of know,
- 4:58you know, that the, the, the assessment criteria is becoming
- 5:00more refined. We're having better tools,
- 5:03better practices, There's more feedback, we have community
- 5:06feedback now. And so we're more refined, so we
- 5:08can actually spot it easily than we used to.
- 5:13Now, I mean, I understand he wants to find an answer to why
- 5:17there's an increasing rate, and that's what he's been paid to
- 5:19do. I get it, OK?
- 5:21I don't think he's going to find that answer other than outside
- 5:23of the fact that we already know it's because we're getting
- 5:25better tools, right, and better clinicians.
- 5:27But if we look at the bigger picture, he's also trying to
- 5:30help people because this is some of the rhetoric that Trump was
- 5:35using. He was saying things like, you
- 5:36know, it destroys families, It's awful.
- 5:39It's a disease, you know, and autism.
- 5:41And Trump is using very basic language.
- 5:44And this is one of the interesting things about Donald
- 5:46Trump. He uses a type of commutative
- 5:50language which is relevant to his audience, you know, if
- 5:54you're speaking to the general public, the average reading age,
- 5:59if somebody is like a third or fourth grader.
- 6:01So, you know, This is why, like I, I remember this vividly when
- 6:05the Princess Diana of Wales that was in the car accident and you
- 6:08see, oh, she was a fatal accident.
- 6:10It was like Dodie dead, Diana injured.
- 6:12There was no, there was no context to it wasn't like
- 6:14Princess Diana's been in a car crash with her boyfriend, Dodie
- 6:17all fired. There's some serious
- 6:18complications going on. No, there was nothing like that.
- 6:19It was Dodie dead, Diana injured.
- 6:21Like, you know, basic, very simple English and Trump uses
- 6:27those terms. So he uses terms like like
- 6:30disease because it it sparks attention.
- 6:32People like, OK, I really, I understand the word disease, you
- 6:34know, And so the general population, we have to try and
- 6:37communicate, but then also sparks a debate.
- 6:38People say, hey, why are you trying to cure autism?
- 6:40Why are you saying it's dangerous and destroys families
- 6:42and things like that? And I think where that comes
- 6:45from is the second objective of helping families or helping
- 6:48people who have severe autistic issues, right?
- 6:52And what I mean by this, and I did a small like TikTok on this
- 6:55earlier so you can check it out on TikTok.
- 6:56And by the way, guys, if you want to follow along with the
- 6:58rest of the stuff you know that I do here on YouTube and and the
- 7:04other platforms, you can just hit the subscribe button and I
- 7:06would be most obliged. You're amazing.
- 7:08Thank you for being here on this journey.
- 7:10Now, in terms of helping people with autism, you know, I have a
- 7:15level 2, I have autism ASD level 2, which means that I have a
- 7:20lower support needs than maybe my friends who are Level 3 who
- 7:23have no verbal speech. They are more in their own
- 7:27world, so to speak, and they may wear diapers and need 24/7
- 7:33supervision, right? That's a serious condition and
- 7:37it is autism because autism is a spectrum, right?
- 7:39How you know how condensed is autism, you know, on the
- 7:43spectrum like a lighter into the more like more condensed then
- 7:46and and that is how they come up with the levelling systems and
- 7:49they used to have high functioning, low functioning
- 7:50Asperges, classic autism, infantile autism, Kenna, you
- 7:54know, infantile autism and those people who have profound
- 7:59difficulties caused by autism. You can understand that if
- 8:03somebody said, Hey, I can help you live more of a typical life
- 8:07and get you out of diapers, you know, in your 20s and and help
- 8:10you, you know, with with speech. Well, of course that's a good
- 8:13thing. Like nobody wants to be in
- 8:14diapers in their 20s, right? And so those people walked
- 8:16inside those bodies want help. And I get it.
- 8:20So RFK, yeah, I get he's trying to help people so that they can
- 8:25increase that potential towards life, but there's no curing of
- 8:28autism. It's just helping increase their
- 8:30potential. And so when we look at stuff
- 8:33like Trump's rhetoric, I don't think he means it in a way where
- 8:37he hates autistic individuals. I think he's using this very
- 8:40simple language, but it is, you know, on a public stage and
- 8:44we're going to react to it. But it was besides the point.
- 8:47I just wanted to say about the rhetoric so that we could
- 8:48understand where they're coming from and why that lines with
- 8:50what RFK is doing. And so although I think it's a
- 8:54good thing to help autistic individuals putting crazy
- 8:57statements out about Tylenol or Cetaminophen that are not based
- 9:02on anything, because you have to come out with a crazy statement
- 9:04and not give us some scientific evidence.
- 9:05So I want to know, how do you guys feel about it?
- 9:09I, I don't know, like I understand what they're saying
- 9:13and all the words. None of it makes sense.
- 9:16It's kind of crazy. OK, guys, I'll see you in the
- 9:20video tomorrow. Peace.
