Transcript
- PropJosh: shit It's to be Tuesday 7evenThirty: O shit. shit. PropJosh: shit. And what we talking about this time on this to be Tuesday that we did first. Nobody else did this. 7evenThirty: Step step stepfather it's just stepfather, not the stepfather. Right? Yeah, there's a the stepfather, there's a stepfather, and then there's another stepfather, and then there's killer stepdad. So not to be confused with either of the other ones. PropJosh: okay, 'cause there was another movie called The Stepfather. So many. But this one has Tay Diggs. 7evenThirty: Right. Yeah. jason: The legendary Tay Diggs. Yeah, he's he's he's got his movie craigs. I've checked him out. 300 something movie crazy. He's got a lot of a couple Tubi movies, a couple of lifetime movies. you know, he's in everything. So this is definitely one of those movies where we're like, okay, as soon as I saw that it was coming out, I said Chris Stokes and Tay Diggs, I'm watching this. PropJosh: He is 7evenThirty: Damn. Yeah, right. PropJosh: Yep, me too. Me too. I know. jason: Ha ha ha 7evenThirty: Chris Stokes name was enough and his stamp is all over this move. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: every second. Now one thing about one thing about Chris Stokes 7evenThirty: Yes. jason: is that he does do high quality like as far as like image his cinematography. Like even this opening shot. Like his cinematography is you know it's beautiful it's a beautifully done movie. And so it's aesthetically pleasing. So you're able to watch it. I think he's good at making sure the sounds edited is good and so like you're not just kind of you know hearing the same 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: one song loop over and over again. So, you know. PropJosh: Yeah, I Chris Stokes is probably the ultimate 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: movie director at this point now, ain't he? jason: Yeah. I mean he's pretty he he puts out movies every other week. It's like So I don't know if he wrote this or not, but he definitely directed it. So 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: He really does. Probably. He usually writes and directs. And Marcus Houston be is executive producer, I believe, of this movie as well. Yeah, 'cause I saw no, he's not in it, but he's producer executive producer. 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: Yeah. In this one? Yeah, he's not in this one. But you said you said this felt like it was in the same universe as adopted. Did he do that one? PropJosh: Yes, this yes, yes, they did adopt it as adopted. 7evenThirty: As as what? yeah, yeah, yeah. absolutely. And the stepmother series. Have y'all watched that? With with Marcus Houston? So the first I think that was Chris Stokes too. I'm pretty sure it was but PropJosh: Mm. I have not. I need to. Yeah, I need to. Very sure of it. I don't think I don't think Marcus Houston does a movie without Chris Stokes. 7evenThirty: I think the first one I saw was Stepmother and there it there's like a there's at least two of those, if not a trilogy. And what I noticed, yeah, he definitely has a universe of like trilogies which you know PropJosh: I yeah, I think it is. jason: This do you think this is 7evenThirty: If you w if you if you listening to this, they definitely I think they definitely trying to start a new trilogy or whatever with with this. Because there's already two adopted, right? And then he got away at the ending. jason: They all they you Stepfather trilogy, which I mean PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, there's two adopted. Yep, he did. They always get away. These are becoming predictable. jason: So there's gonna be a third. 7evenThirty: That's another thing jason: There's a third. 7evenThirty: man, this scene. PropJosh: my goodness, man. my goodness. These movies jason: my goodness. Tell the tell 7evenThirty: I thought about you on that part, Josh. jason: the listeners what happened. 7evenThirty: So it opens up with a child who's in therapy and he's telling why he's, you know, emotionally scarred. He's talking to his therapist. And he's flashing back to the time his dad was well, his stepfather was beating him so hard that he had a heart attack and died while beating him. And so he's double traumatized because, you know, one for the abuse, and then two. Cause this man died, you know. He of course he didn't help him because he was beating him. He was like, he immediately was like, Call the ambulance. He was like, No, you beat the shit out me. So that's another thing I noticed in his movies though. Kids getting beat. PropJosh: What? jason: Chris Stokes movies? Mm. PropJosh: Well other than this series and adopt it, how often does it? 7evenThirty: Yeah, they got jason: I mean a lot of 7evenThirty: beat. He was jumping all into jason: but you know, what's the a couple a couple of movies they have they were abused as children. 7evenThirty: Yep. Yep. PropJosh: Yeah, what's that movie jason: Like even if they flash back. Yeah, I think one of was abused as well, that wasn't the same one, right? No. PropJosh: with the two girls that were twins? 7evenThirty: The two girls that was twins. PropJosh: Yeah, from with the girl from from how not what's that show? Wife and Kids, the youngest daughter from Wife and Kids. jason: She was a twin. Yeah, she had a sister. 7evenThirty: yeah, that was Chris Stokes. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah. jason: Yes, yes. But she was abused as a kid too. Yeah. Yeah, that's it. 7evenThirty: Assistant something like that. PropJosh: Yeah, that's it. Well, yeah, yeah. The assistant. Yep, that's it. I haven't watched the second one yet. That's just the first one. Yeah, he has a whole universe. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Damn, that was Chris Stokes. jason: Yep. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Okay, yeah, so in yeah. Yeah. jason: So yep. Well, we all knew we were gonna watch this one and we watched it. so we won't talk about this. Watch at your at your wrist. Now the thing is, look, I'm gonna give you a forewarning for people that don't watch tubi movies. Like if you're watching this because you're like, it's Tay Diggs, and you don't realize that he actually does tube movies, you're gonna be disappointed. But if you're like watching this knowing it's a tubi movie, then you know, PropJosh: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Tay Diggs came and he knew the assignment. And he came and did the assignment. So if you expect, you know, a best man, Tay Diggs, it's not gonna be the same. yes. Yes. From the beginning of the scene, from the beginning of the first, second scene, he is committed to the crazy. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But but what's what's what I love though is he gives you the same commitment no matter what because he's taped. PropJosh: Yeah. yeah. 7evenThirty: Right. Yeah, he's T D. Mm-hmm. jason: He is committed to the character. And so I'm like, and I love every second of it. Yes. He just murdered so. PropJosh: Is he dancing? Wow. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. There's a wonderful scene where he just murdered his whole family and he rap poisoned his whole family and then he plays this music so happy, this happy song that and he just dances around the dead wife. And Tay Diggs is a dancer. Like, you know, that is he is you know, that he went to school, like, you know, he's a art, you know, mate theater major and so like he's jason: Yes. They're dear bodies. Mm-hmm. Yeah. PropJosh: okay. 7evenThirty: Really careful not to step on the lady. He's dancing all around her head and stuff, but he's really committed to this. Yeah. So I yeah, I love it. PropJosh: Wow. Yeah, he put his A game in. jason: So that's when I knew that's when I knew that this movie was gonna be exactly what I expect it to be. And I was here for it. So that was the introduction. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, it's great dancing. Here's another trademark, Chris Stokes trademark. Bad guy calmly walking away from a burning building. jason: Okay. Okay, okay. That does happen. 7evenThirty: because I think adopted I think that kid does it like maybe twice. He does it maybe twice in in in each he does it in in each of those movies. He's and he's just walking out of the burning building. It's like arson is a is a key element in some of these movies. And then stepfather, like we got stepmother. So like this definitely to y'all point in the same universe. PropJosh: Yeah, he definitely d yeah, he definitely does it. jason: Mm-hmm. The title. Yeah. So PropJosh: Yeah, so we need to put jason: Yeah. PropJosh: the stepfather, the stepmother, and adopted all in the same they just just need to find each other. They need to be the same family and call it step family. 7evenThirty: Yep. There's all this domestic yeah. D domestic jason: Yeah. Yeah. That would be hilarious. What if that was man, what if that kid that would be 7evenThirty: thrillers. He got he got a bunch of domestic thrillers. It should be just called the step family. Yo, if they all ended up together and they all tried to kill each other, yo. PropJosh: Or better yet, they try to kill each other, then they decide to team up and they move in next door to another family, start messing with this other family next door. 7evenThirty: Yo, that'll be crazy. But it jason: That's interesting. That is interesting. 7evenThirty: would be crazy though if they all met up together and they all like killed each other. jason: Whatever the case. That would be interesting. That kind of reminds me of Spy X family, you know, because they kind of don't know each other's secret powers, the anime. So the evil version of that. Yeah. That would be that would be interesting, Stepfamily. Hopefully you listen it. my goodness. Step family. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. yeah, Spy Family. Yeah. yeah, yeah. The evil the evil version of Spy Family. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So Chris those if you're listening. PropJosh: Right, and we know you're listening, Chris Stokes. 7evenThirty: Right. I just wanna be in the movie, even if I get killed by the by the ad adopted boy, that that'll be hilarious. Right. jason: You just a you just a neighbor walking past, knocking on the door to be like, Hey, you need some ice murdered, you know. I don't know. 7evenThirty: Right. Right. PropJosh: Well, you know I have a friend, you know I have a friend that was killed in this Chris Stokes movie. Yeah, yeah, she was one of the first people to get killed. jason: That's impressive. I feel like that's pretty that's a that's a pretty good 7evenThirty: Yeah. By the by the little boy, right? jason: that's pretty good you know, something to brag about, you know what I'm saying? Something for your resume, you know what I mean? So it's like, okay, I was I was a plate of character that got k okay. right, all right, we'll get her on here. We'll get her on here, that'll be good. So PropJosh: Yeah. I'm trying to get her to be a guest on the podcast. She's willing to be on here too, so we have to talk to her about that. jason: But yeah, so Tay Diggs knows the assignment. He, you they show this story of him. And yeah, the commitment to the crazy is great. And so I think that there's there's this, which we but I love the movie because it's like we don't there's no secret to us that he's crazy. The audience knows he's crazy, the audience knows he's a murderer. So he they give you all the information early on, enough where you're not like it's not like a twist that he's a murderer, you know, like you know exactly who he is. 7evenThirty: He's committed to the crazy. I love the performances. Mm-hmm. Right. Right. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Not surprised. Yeah, I'm glad they get it out of the way. 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, exactly. 7evenThirty: And he's he seems to set up all his movie like that because another common thing that I notice in these openings to to a lot of the Christos movie, in particular the stepmother, the stepfather, and I believe even Adopted, when it first opens up and the first open is few seconds, you know, where it's got like the camera reel, kinda like when the Marvel movie's coming on, and it's got like a camera reel, it's scenes of the movie that you are about to watch. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. yeah, difference yeah. 7evenThirty: Sh you know I'm saying? Like and they do that in the stepmother series. I remember being like, What the fuck am I watching? Cause it's like when it first came on, it shows you scenes that are upcoming in the movie that's about to happen. And so they I noticed they do that on here. And I think it is a device to let the audience know this person's crazy. You just trying to see how crazy and how long it's gonna take for the good guys to realize. PropJosh: That's true. Yeah, I do notice that. jason: Yeah, that's true. Mm. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: That they craze. jason: Right, PropJosh: The other the other thing I notice in Chris Stokes movies, the cops are fucking idiots. jason: right, right, right. 7evenThirty: Fucking idiot. I wrote that down. jason: Stupid. So stupid. So stupid. Man. We I want whenever we get to the cops, we gotta let let them talk because well yeah. Yeah the interview. I mean like when the whole when the young cop comes in and they have that little bit tit or tit tit for tat. It's like this is hilarious. It was so stupid. 7evenThirty: I wrote in my notes. Stupid cops. There's always a trope. I can't wait to get on these cops. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Well, we're kinda there now, 'cause they're talk the cops are talking to him. goodness. 7evenThirty: Jason, I thought about you when I saw that. I thought I knew that part will annoy you. PropJosh: So let's tell the audience what's happening. So Tay Dick's character burnt down the house that he poisoned his family in, and now he's at the cops being interrogated and he's, you know, talking like he was sad that they were gone and stuff like that, and and that he was at the grocery store while they all died in the fire and stuff. And they let him g and it was like, Well, this guy couldn't have done it anything. Yeah, this guy he's just a he's just a pussy. Let him go and then he you know, then he leaves. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. He's remorseful. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. jason: He said if he did it, he deserves an Oscar because he's a really good actor. But it's obvious that he didn't do it. His alibi checks out. So yeah, I was like, all right. The first person that you always guess is the f is the person that, you know, that's usually the person that you put in for questions. But you know, he created alibi. He's the stepfather. PropJosh: He's a really Oscar. Yeah, exactly. But they explain why he's right. That would not be in real life. It's like it's too it's too right. It's too suspicious. It's not no, no, they would have kept him around. But he's, you know, he 7evenThirty: Mm. Yeah. jason: let's talk about let's talk about the the husband of this Yeah. Okay. All right, all right, all right. Yes, we do, we do. This argument this argument is 7evenThirty: Well well let's yeah, let's talk about the co-host of the movie and then her husband. Wait, pause this shit right here, cause we got to hear this shit, yo. Yeah, yeah, rewind that shit. Yeah. So PropJosh: The lead actress. Yeah, yeah, the lead actress 7evenThirty: So the lead actress Josh what PropJosh: Who is she? I mean 'cause I know she's that's it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Tony Braxton's sister. okay, okay. 7evenThirty: Tamar Braxton. Yeah, that's that's Tony Braxton's youngest sister. And jason: Tomorrow Braxton, yeah. All right. 7evenThirty: and she is bringing it on this move. She Tori and I were both like pleasantly pleased, w you know, surprised by how well she did on she had good chemistry with everybody she was in the scene with her daughter, Tay Diggs, and even her non acting husband. jason: yeah, she's a great Yeah. With her acting. Yeah. I agree. 7evenThirty: This motherfucker is the worst actor in the whole movie. The whole movie. jason: Let's listen the whole movie. The whole movie. Like I feel like I feel like he was like probably somebody that they last minutely like, okay, crap. The original pe the original people that was cast for this role got COVID. And they're like, We record this movie. We're recording this movie. Tay Diggs only got two weeks. You know what I'm saying? Like, we gotta get we gotta get this movie filmed. PropJosh: okay. 7evenThirty: He's one of the producers like shit. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: And then one of the producers like, I I I I can act. I know the lines are, you it's like, okay, well, you're gonna have to do it because we gotta get this done. It's not a big part, but we gotta get you to do it. All right. It's like, okay, I'll do it, you know. So let's listen to what we're talking about. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Damn, Michael Ely cancelled on us. We need somebody. 7evenThirty: Right. jason: Even his face. Yes, yes. 7evenThirty: Look at that that that mannerism when he put his hand on the desk. So I be I be acting this scene out for Tori. The clothes on your back? That dude is horrible. jason: What shit? PropJosh: wow. I didn't even notice. I wasn't even paying attention. I do now, jason: You didn't notice how bad of an actor is he that's the PropJosh: you pointed it out really hard. I was just watching the movie. I was just into the movie, but listening to it immediately, it's like wow. jason: my goodness. my goodness. That was the thing that was the first thing I noticed. so first thing. He does get worse. It does get worse. Yeah. 7evenThirty: He's the worst. He is the worst. And it gets worse too. His acting gets worse in this movie. PropJosh: Which just makes us really bad cause she's bringing it. She's doing her part. jason: she's good. She's really good. Yeah. Especially 7evenThirty: Yeah, she bringing it. jason: in c in contrast with him. So it makes maybe it's that 7evenThirty: But that shows you how good of a actress she is because regardless of how he's doing, she feeding back to him like as if he just fed her the best line that she could go with and she and she killing it. So jason: She brought it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But you know, that's that's how that that's how actors do. They have a person that reads the line that's not an actor, and then they give it their all. So she's just basically responding to the person that's reading the lines because that's what he's doing. He is he's literally just reading the line, helping her to practice. 7evenThirty: Mm. Mm-hmm. Like I could tell Tamar has probably had some Yeah, Tamar has probably had some acting coaching or or or training or something. Like she's she's really natural on here. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Course. Yeah, yeah, she is. jason: Yep, I agree. So, basically the husband is having some kind of argument. Obvious not that obvious because it didn't sound but obviously there is an argument 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: He's having a fair. He he he's asking for another because he's wants to run off with this girl, this younger girl. 'Cause you that's the cliche thing. The husband runs off with a younger girl. Is it his secretary? I I forgot. 'Cause that's always the cliche. jason: I don't remember. So yeah. So he leaves. What's his job? I don't know, but his house is ridiculous. So he's obviously he's the producer. That's what he does. It's the same guy. man. So yeah, that's what it probably is. Probably is the owner of TV. 7evenThirty: And what does he do? PropJosh: I have no idea. Yeah, I don't know. 7evenThirty: Yeah. That what I'm saying. That like Tori was asking the whole time, what does he do? He's the owner of Tubi. Yeah. jason: That's exactly who he is. So yeah. Both daughters were pretty good. 7evenThirty: Yeah, I thought everybody else was very natural. The daughter, the youngest daughter, was natural. yeah, the oldest daughter, yeah, she was very good. This movie is in direct contrast with Fatal Affair. You remember Nia Long and Omar Epps on Netflix? PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. jason: Mm. Okay. 7evenThirty: Kind of similar character structure. You had the straight woman, you had the crazy dude that's after them after them, and then you had the daughter. You remember their college daughter who was not even believably their daughter and was boring as hell? Like they did a better job with the with the kids on this movie. jason: Yeah. huh. PropJosh: That's right. I kinda remember. okay. jason: Yeah, that's true. So yeah, I this scene was this the the the scene where Tay Diggs I don't I don't ever call him by whatever name he has. In every in everything that he is, I and I don't even say Tay. I say Tay Diggs all the time. First and last name. Never just Who calls him Tay? Like PropJosh: I forget what his name is too. 7evenThirty: I I love this scene. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha ha! 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: I'm sure a lot of his close friends call him Tay. jason: I mean, have you ever called him a ta you just said and Tay was in this movie? Like, have you ever said that? Right, you gotta say his whole name. Samuel? I'm like, yeah, Samuel. Who? What? You know? okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Whole name. So Tay Diggs is the whole name. That's just what it is. I don't know, whatever. PropJosh: No, I gotta say Tay Diggs. Just like I gotta say Samuel L. Jackson. I have to say his whole name. Can't just say Sam. Who? Samuel L. Jackson. 7evenThirty: Yeah. I just call him old Sammy. PropJosh: Samuel L. Jackson. you didn't You gotta say his whole name. jason: Whatever character he plays, he's always Tay Diggs to me. And so so he duh it's a cool okay. there's this like organic, you know, meet and greet in the grocery store a year later. So you see a different version of Tay Diggs. The the the characters is, you know, no doesn't have glasses at the beginning. He had glasses, it was kinda like he was quirky. PropJosh: I think it said his name is Darnell. 7evenThirty: Yeah, darn yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, so he was kind of 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: a Ned Flanders kind of look at the beginning. jason: Yeah, yeah. He had these big thick glasses. He was kind of you know, quirky. That's why the Yeah, all that stuff. This one, he's like no glasses, chain, you know, you can kinda see his Yeah. And so he's like real he's suave. That's why they be that's exactly right. You know, that's exactly what Josh be doing. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, a sweater on, all that stuff. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Super chill. Mm-hmm. This how Josh be rolling up to them single women in the grocery store. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: They yeah, I actually PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: suggest yo, pause it right there. jason: Okay, okay. 7evenThirty: There's a shot on this movie that's hilarious to me. So first off, this how Josh be rolling up to him. spitting that gas. That's how he be getting them numbers in the grocery store. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Okay. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: But there's a shot on this where it's from behind the bananas. And it's creeping down below the banana. They just showed it. Play it again. It's a very off-putting shot. Yeah, you can rewind just a little bit. jason: Hmm. PropJosh: really? I think I remember that and I was wondering. jason: Want me to rewind it? PropJosh: I do remember that shot 'cause I thought it was somebody gonna show up. 7evenThirty: Yes, it looks like somebody's I'm like, why am I leering at them from behind the banana? Why why am I sneaking up behind the banana? PropJosh: I guess that's his w his crazy side is watching from the bananas. 7evenThirty: You know, you you could very well be on to something, Josh. You w you can you could very well be onto something. That could be his crazy personality peering in on the situation. Cause play the play the audio right here. PropJosh: It probably is. 7evenThirty: Peering behind the banana, like what the fuck is that? And then it goes lower. What? jason: There's the bananas. PropJosh: Yeah, that's weird. 7evenThirty: What shot is that? Because you in this shot you can't even see T D. jason: That's a cool shot. PropJosh: It just wanna be different. jason: No, you can't. 7evenThirty: That's dash bullet. Yep. jason: That's what Josh be saying. That's what Josh be saying. That's what Josh be saying, you know. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Hey look, you know, I don't I don't mean to be for it, but you are the most gorgeous woman I've ever laid eyes on. really? Yeah, baby. She's gonna I'm gonna pass you my phone, go and put your number in there. Okay. Alright, babe. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Ha ha ha jason: Ha ha ha. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: That's how Josh be putting that game. jason: But yeah, that's I that's that's that's it right there. And that's you know, that's what happened in this movie. He he definitely put the game on. he was you know, he was re respectful, you know, he was like suave, he was smooth, a little flirtatious, but not too like forward in a way that like created some, you know, ways of like building some anticipation. he complimented the the child, but not PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: But but for real. But for real, I ain't gonna lie, I have pulled this that he pulled. He introduced himself and then he just left without getting her number 'cause he knew he was gonna see her again somehow. I I I ain't gonna lie, I do I do that shit. jason: Go ahead. goodness. Yep. See? See there? See there? 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. PropJosh: Hahaha 7evenThirty: Y'all better y'all better take notes. PropJosh: Ha ha ha jason: Mm-hmm. But yeah. Next scene show the first red flag, of course, for her. First red flag. six months later, they're married. No, no, they eloped. Because the brother was like, the brother was like, Why ain't you no invitations? Like, look, we eloped. This is our celebration. Like, you know, we just knew what we had to get done. You know what I mean? Like this is something we weren't expecting. We just wanted to do this. So I'm sorry you get we just went ahead and went to the just of the piece and and did our thing, you know. 7evenThirty: And say notes. Gaming on you. PropJosh: Engaged. no, they're married, right? They already got married? Okay, so 7evenThirty: No, they're married. Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: My advice, and this is for anybody, I don't care who you are, wait a year Just wait a year, at least, at the least. You should not you need to see you need to see all four seasons, all twelve months before you decide to be with this person forever. jason: Need to see all seasons. 7evenThirty: Show. Yep. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: That's real talk. jason: Yep. 7evenThirty: Yep. jason: Yeah, 'cause holidays different people different people are different in different holidays, different, you know, people have different responses. Yeah. PropJosh: I'm saying this from experience. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Or even live with Live live with him before you just make that decision. PropJosh: Well, that's kinda iffy too, 'cause like I used to be like, Yeah, maybe live together but then you live together, then you kinda stuck with a crazy person living with you. If you don't 7evenThirty: mean you not stuck if you set it up the right way, y'all can Yeah, that what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You need to do the least mm-hmm. You get you gotta have that, yeah. yeah, you know what? You could do trips, mm-hmm, extended trip. PropJosh: If you write a lease together and then you stuck with the lease. Cause I I've known a couple of people that moved in with people and they then they got stuck. jason: I mean, I think that, you know, you could probably do trips, you know. You can probably experience stuff like that. I mean, I know vacation you is different, but still but still you can kind of see a little bit more of a person when you do that. Like kind of see an extended period of time without you know, jumping into things. And so I think that six months is definitely not enough time. And then we find out she 'cause I don't think we knew she had a daughter until this an older daughter until now. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: but yeah, so 7evenThirty: She's so natural. I totally believe that that's her daughter. Like I like their relationship, their chemistry, the two of them. I totally believe that's her daughter. And get this, her daughter has a personality. jason: Yeah. Yeah, I agree. Yep. I agree. PropJosh: Yeah, she does. Yeah. jason: Yes, yes, she does. 7evenThirty: 'Cause a lot of time this character right here don't have a personality. You notice that? And in these kind of thrilling movies, the main characters, you know, older kid from from college normally don't have no kind of personality about them. Especially in that fatal instinct or whatever that was. jason: Yeah, she does. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. Well, jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: the movie jason: Afraid it'll tracks you. PropJosh: Twin, they had a older daughter. We didn't talk about we didn't talk about twin. but if you remember twin, yep, Chris Stokes did twin as well. 7evenThirty: Christophe's dead twin? Wait, which one was all right, twin? That's not the one where they went to the cabin. PropJosh: No, no, that was the alien movie. Yeah, yeah, the tw yeah, I know. I thought they were all twins in that one. No, one of the girls from Twin well yeah, it was twin is when her twin sister comes back from jail. jason: No. That was with twins. That was the movie that had two twins. I thought we talked about that. okay. All right. I don't remember. PropJosh: No we didn't. Did we? No, no, we didn't. 7evenThirty: No, we reviewed the twin movie where it was the two guys and they swapped wives or something like that. jason: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. PropJosh: that one. Yeah, that movie. We did all the jason: That was funny. Okay, so what about it? PropJosh: But anyway in that movie twin, she had a daughter that was in college and she had a pretty good personality. I like that daughter. Yeah, I like that daughter in that in that movie as well. 7evenThirty: She had a whole personality. jason: I think the the this movie it shows the contrast between the younger daughter and older daughter because the older daughter immediately refers to him. She's like, Hey, should I call you dad? in a way that's like, Yep. The younger daughter was like, You ain't my father. That was the t the contrast between the two. Like she was more accepting of like, you know, you're you know, you you love my mom. I I'm a you know, my mom loves you, I'm I'm a I welcome you in immediately, which is, you know Sting. 7evenThirty: Call him dad. Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. jason: this is where I like the way they directed this because I when I watched it, I you never know what's gonna happen. So it's like so they showed a clip of him talking to the boyfriend of the older daughter, Tay Diggs talking to the boyfriend of older daughter, and like I don't know what he said, but he ends up punching him. Yeah, yeah. He said something because his stepdad said that to him, so there's a flashback, and then immediately you see him punch him in the face and you're like, what? 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. I think it's like sh looking me in the eye when you shake my hand or something like that. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Right. jason: It's like I'm like, my goodness. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. It throws you off. jason: Yeah, but that was just like a Yeah, so that was actually pretty good directed. PropJosh: And then they flash and show what really happened. So they they basically showing you 7evenThirty: Uh-huh. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, it is. It's showing you what's going on in Tay Diggs's mind. A little bit of his craziness coming out without him actually showing his craziness on the outside. How is this about me? 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So this this movie is kinda about Josh. jason: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: That's kinda that's how Josh that's how Josh is in in the world. He'd be imagining himself a bunch of people out. Yeah. jason: His f flashes the punches people in the face. It's like, No, I'm not gonna do that. No, PropJosh: yeah, punching people in my mind. Yeah, jason: no, no, no, no, that's not really PropJosh: that's a little bit of truth there. I mean I would never poison a bunch of people and burn a house or nothing like that. jason: my goodness. Yes, 7evenThirty: But you you know what though? I'm glad to know that, Josh. but you know what? They actually have I think the boyfriend actually has a decent personality too, def decent amount of personality too. 'cause a lot of time that character ain't got no fucking personality either. jason: yes. Ha ha ha. PropJosh: right, right. Cause that character's usually set up to be killed. 'Cause it's an extra character. jason: Yeah, he does feel like Which 7evenThirty: yeah. And you can still totally tell he's gonna get killed, jason: right, right, right. 7evenThirty: but he has a he still has a personality. jason: Yeah. Where did you guys think the movie's gonna go? 7evenThirty: Which is better because that makes you The movie jason: at this point. 'Cause it was good. We're twenty minutes in. So like, where do you think the movie was gonna go when you were watching at this point? PropJosh: honestly this movie's pretty predictable for me. Yeah. 7evenThirty: I mean, I was about to say, yeah, it's very predictable. It's just fun to watch though, 'cause it's jason: Went went 7evenThirty: Tiggs. jason: where I knew exactly what was gonna go. So you didn't expect anything different. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. It went exactly where I thought it was gonna go. Yep. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. I knew the I knew I even knew how this movie was gonna end before it got to the ending. I said I knew exactly how it was gonna end. I was like, Yeah, makes you know, no surprises for me. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yep. Yeah, I think the people that I knew that people that I thought were gonna die died. The people that I thought were gonna survive survived. PropJosh: Survived. Well, only one character there's only one character that survived that I thought was gonna die. That was it. That's the only thing that threw me off. That's it. I'll reveal it later when it's closer. jason: That you thought was gonna die? Okay. All right. All right. Okay. 7evenThirty: You said there's a character that survived that you thought was gonna die? PropJosh: Yes. Only one character. Cause I was the same way. Everybody I thought was gonna die died. And people I thought was gonna live lived. And it was only one character. I was like, this person survived. I wasn't expecting that. jason: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So I think the first first most of this movie is like showing the showing how Tay Diggs is gonna be a you know, he's trying to be a good f father. there's a relationship with the with the college student, you know, and she's like healthy, hell healthy relationship. he's making breakfast, he's in you know, everybody's everybody's happy. there's little, you know, explanation of what's go ahead. PropJosh: He just he just wants the perfect family. That's mainly what it is. He and he now he has it. So that's his goal. jason: Right, that's all he wants. Yeah. He has the perfect family. So he's happy. The end. Except something shifts. So, 'cause yeah, there's games, there's laughter in the quotes, laughter. There's there's romance. This was a weird scene. let's listen. He's talking to PropJosh: I I didn't even catch that part when I first watched it, honestly. No, it happened so quick. jason: I was like, you didn't catch that? 7evenThirty: Josh was doing something when he was watching it. That stood out the first time I saw that. PropJosh: I usually be working on videos and stuff. jason: You didn't that line? You did not catch that at all. my goodness. Yup. PropJosh: I didn't catch it at all. I just I think he was so I think he was kind of channeling his his stepfather. Cause he would say stuff that his stepsfather said to him. So that's what was going on. So that could have been a slip up from his from his stepfather. Cause his, you know, cause his stepfather, when they show flashes of him, it was terrible. jason: yeah. Yeah, he did. Yeah, he absolutely did. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Yep. Yep. PropJosh: And that's why he let him die. So I think right when his dep you know, that traumatized him so much that he kind of channeled him into his psyche, you know. jason: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So 7evenThirty: I think he was just trying to see where the kid's head was at. jason: Right. I agree. Cause he asked the question and he was like, What? It's like you knew what I see it, but I thought it was I thought it was another flash, like a flash, but they the way he's rec corrected himself. So all right, insert insert. Yep, the rookie cop insert. okay. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. yeah, yeah, yeah. so now we meet the rookie cop. 7evenThirty: Okay, Jason, please please do this part. PropJosh: I have no idea why. jason: Yeah. This is hilarious to me. This is so funny. So he's the he's the rookie cop that knows everything and everybody's doing it the wrong way, you know? It's like I just showed up on the scene. I just got I just like you can barely see the peach fuzz off his top lip and he's like PropJosh: It's the 7evenThirty: Right. You know the the but the fucking the most hilarious thing about this whole scene is that they shoved this scene in here so hard. It it didn't have anything to do with the movie. And then at the end, he didn't do a goddamn he was the worst cop out of everybody. jason: Yes. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. PropJosh: This is what he might be the connector. He's probably introduced as probably the connector for the spin-off. He's gonna be in the spin-off movies. Cause he I feel like it this feels like a excerpt from a from a TV series called The Rookie Cop or something, you know? 7evenThirty: He was dumb as hell. jason: my goodness. Yeah. Because if this is his movie? Another movie? Okay, okay. This is his this is his first case. His introduction. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: 'Cause they gave this motherfucker a spotlight like man, he's gonna do something. He's gonna be the one cop that actually solves this thing and takes him down. He didn't figure out a damn thing. jason: Yep. Mm-hmm. He gon solve the case. He gonna take PropJosh: Yeah, not really. He really didn't. He's definitely pulled in, but I think jason: Yep. 7evenThirty: He asked a bunch of dumb ass questions throughout the whole rest of the movie. All he did was ask stupid ass questions and was just as late at figuring shit out as everybody else was. jason: Yep. Yep. Mm-hmm. The only he's like, your humbleness has got you not, you know, triple humble side. Like, well, your cockiness. 7evenThirty: Well well well I'm sorry. And that whole scene I was like I'll I was just annoyed with him and that was it. PropJosh: Hey, Is is young the the young version of Tay Diggs, that kid, is he in adopted? jason: Yeah. Is he? Is that is that kid 7evenThirty: No, that's not him. PropJosh: I mean, you know, there's a few kids in adopted, that's what I'm saying. 7evenThirty: You talking about the kid who got killed. PropJosh: No, I ain't talking about the kid that got killed. It could've been like the in the second movie or something. I don't know. Now I gotta look it up. 'Cause he looks familiar. He looked like he he could have been jason: Mm, it's possible. Yeah, he does look familiar. Cause I mean, the kid that adopted could have grown up to beat Tay Diggs. PropJosh: Okay. Yep, that's exactly how to be works. jason: How? It doesn't look nothing like him. That's how Tubi works. 7evenThirty: Well what? You just made a Donald face when you said that jason: goodness. It's like, man. But yeah, so that's there's a bunch of stuff that's like they're trying to solve the case. We already know the case, so it's kind of extended where it's like it's kind of One of those things that's like, yeah, are y'all gonna figure it out? It just shows us how dumb they are. But I mean, they are they're basically trying to show I think that scene is the the way it's trying to show that he does he's a brilliant serial killer that, you know, n always has a way to get out of the situation, even though he is yeah, one set up ahead of everybody and everything, but he is a suspect. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Right. Like she's always one step ahead of the cops and Just like adapted. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Okay, I was wrong. He's not an adopted. jason: Okay. 7evenThirty: Just like adopted that PropJosh: He's in but he isn't Micha he's in Michael though. 7evenThirty: In what? okay. jason: he's in Michael. That's why he's familiar, 'cause you just saw him. Yeah, you just saw him in Michael. PropJosh: Yeah, he plays a hospital he's a he plays a hospital kid. Yeah, so that's what it was. So yeah. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: All right, I'm gonna fast forward some more 'cause the movie's extended, so let's get toward the end. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Well, the the thing that changes is that the ex-husband comes back. Well, that's because the daughter calls her father. And yeah, because, you know, she really doesn't like Tay Diggs. Or, you know, she keeps saying stuff like, You ain't my daddy. And of course he has flashes of hitting her and yelling at her. jason: There's a shift, yeah. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Man, that's a jason: Let's play let's let's play this. He so I think she ends up she ends up is it is this the scene where she has her first period? 7evenThirty: She she has her first period and she's like, you know, very kind of emotional and she like she storms out the room after almost calling her sister a bitch. Talks back to Tay Diggs, runs out the room, and then he's like, Can I try? Right. jason: Okay. Yeah. Talks back Yeah. One first of all, hold up, pause. No. Like, you don't like she already don't like you. And it seems like this is a woman's conversation that needs to happen mother to daughter, even if she got an attitude. Like that feels like a hundred percent the mother should be the one talking, not the stepdad that you've known for six months. So that's just that's just my PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Agreed, I agree. Yeah. jason: That's that's just my thing. So like if I if you know, if I was ever a stepdad and that happened I'd be like, Look, I I mean I'm I'd be supportive. Let me do I need to make some I'll I'll go get the chocolate. Like what you need me to do like that? You know, like you know what I'm saying, but like I understand that, but that's PropJosh: Right. But he's trying to be the man of the house. That's what it is. 7evenThirty: Yeah, now I'll I'll say this. Yes, I agree with that, but I also agree that at some point or another the conversation that's about to happen needed to happen. Yeah, at some point or another, he he was whether, you know, maybe maybe I would have let her mom like, hey, like I'm gonna give her time, like, but you might want to check on her after a while. jason: Yeah, I understand that. 'Cause she was a yeah. Yeah. She don't need to be talking to you like that. So. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: You what I'm saying? But but I'm I'm gonna have to have a talk with her because, you know, we gotta we gotta work this out. And it'll be like that. And then later on I'ma have that convers. The way he handled this conversation was br the it w it was it was it was flawless. It was great. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right, right. Just not right then though. jason: Let's let's let's let's hear it. 7evenThirty: Okay. And that's how you handle it. No. No. PropJosh: That's jason: Show cunner. Flash. Let's actually hear what he really did 'cause that was interesting. Is that what is that he put on the table? Okay. Yeah. 7evenThirty: He gives her a gift. He just gave her a gift. jason: Always here for you if you need it. Almost dead. That's actually kinda cute. So 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. no, okay. Yeah, this isn't where he had the conversation with her. This where she just gave him a hug. Later on in the movie, she has a attitude. So in that sense, what he does right here, that wasn't a bad move. It just shows, Hey, I'm gonna be here for you and you know, I know you're just not feeling right right now. So here. So I think he handled that well. And then later on in the movie jason: Okay. PropJosh: And she gave him a hug. jason: Yeah. That actually wasn't a bad thing to do what he did. He didn't do anything. PropJosh: That's true, yeah. jason: Yeah, I agree with that. 7evenThirty: He talks to her like, all right, now look, I done let you slide a bunch of times. Like, but I'm your mother's husband, which makes me the man in the house, and you you you gonna have to respect me. You know what I'm saying? We're gonna have you're gonna have to we're gonna have to establish that dynamic. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: True. True. But this is why they shouldn't have got married in six months. You have that year to get the daughter used to the new boyfriend and all that stuff. jason: And w Yeah. The relationship. Mm-hmm. Are you coming out, hanging out, 7evenThirty: To work all that out. Exactly. Exactly. jason: visiting? Now I got a couple of questions and this is just random holes and plots. Like, what do they do? Like what does anybody do? 7evenThirty: Tori asked that the whole time. All right, this this conversation I don't think went well either. I don't think that the that the stepf that the the kid's father approached this right. Mm-hmm. jason: Because aren't they in California? PropJosh: Real father, the father, biological father. jason: Yeah. 'Cause he he got a he PropJosh: Yeah, but they established that he 7evenThirty: Because he comes up well he comes up to the house. PropJosh: was not a good person anyway. 7evenThirty: If if for whatever reason, you know, my wife got remarried or whatever, and we got, you know, teenagers together and I and but and plus I need to talk to her first off on a call first before popping up. And then for whatever reason, if whatever situation caused me to stop by unannounced, the first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna acknowledge the husband. jason: That's common sense. 7evenThirty: First. Be like, hey man, like, I know you know who I am. Like, hey, I'm, you know, I ain't here to start no trouble. I just like I was in the area. You know, would would it be cool if I speak to Tori or whatever? I just gotta talk to her about something about the kids or whatever, whatever. You see what I'm saying? He didn't even say nothing to him. He went straight to the daughter, like, hey, daughter. where's your mom? I need to talk to her. Like Tay D's ain't fucking standing right there. You know what I mean? But he ain't a man that's standing right here. You know what I mean? So jason: Like he ain't yeah, he right there, opening the door. PropJosh: He well that's yeah, of course. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, Mark, but you're a respectful person. This guy they said this guy's not supposed to be respectful anyway. jason: And you wouldn't have l you wouldn't have you wouldn't have ched on your wife 7evenThirty: Right. jason: with with somebody and left there like he did. So he's not he's not a good person. And not a good actor. 7evenThirty: Right. jason: man. Yeah. So yeah, he's a jerk. he's a a hundred percent jerk. And the acting is bad. Okay. 7evenThirty: 'Cause he totally yeah, he's a jerk, man. Man, his acting. I love this part though, because he he pushes up on her and starts like trying to kiss her. Then Tay Diz comes up and then another one of those flash scenes happened where he's, wait a minute. No, it really happened. jason: Yeah. Right. So that's why I PropJosh: It's like Thrag was really there in the sky. jason: Yeah, that's this is what I liked 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: about I liked about that directing 'cause it's like you actually didn't know when was the real moment that he did stuff. And so PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Right. Until that next scene he was in the hospital. I was like, he really did that. He's beaten him for a long time too. jason: I that's exactly how I was like, so long. I liked it. PropJosh: But the character flaw for me was the wife saying that she still had feelings for her husband. Because I was like, mmm, no. Yeah. Like, no, he is. 7evenThirty: Thank you, Josh. She should not have said that. And he was like, you know, do you what do you say do you have feelings? She was like, look, I don't know what the future holds, but I'm with you now. Like, that ain't good enough. What the fuck that mean? jason: They've been in divorce for they've been in divorce for at least a year and a half at this point. Cause you remember it was a year after they got the divorce that they she met Tay Diggs and then six months after they were together. So it's been a year and a half that they haven't been together, at least. If they haven't had more time. Because we don't know if there's been the time that we've been watching this, even though it's six months since they've been married. 7evenThirty: What the fuck does that mean? PropJosh: Yeah, it's a year. Right. jason: Has there been more time since we've been seeing them? You know what I mean? Has it been a couple more months? It could have been another six months. So, yeah, because they could have been married for a few months at the by this point. so she beat he he beat, he beat. Yeah, that was bad. But 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. But while he was beating up on old dude, he turned around and smacked her. But that was kind of on accident, but still like, you know, it wasn't a good look. PropJosh: Yeah, that was a Spider Man three part. Like a Spider Man three when when he jason: That was like that yeah. What was that movie? No, that was another movie that 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. That was the Spider Man three moment. jason: that happened with the dude 'cause it it was with with what's the name's wife was in it? Deadpool's wife was in it. Ryan Reynolds what's her name? Yeah, Blake Lively was playing the character and the dude that was in that movie. PropJosh: Blake Lively? jason: It was kind of that scene, very similar scene. He's cleaning up. Yeah, I saw it. Yes. I watched the whole thing. 'cause he wasn't he if he was playing the character that was the like this character. but then he actually ended up being some being a creep. So in real life. In real life. And so but he did a that was a moment like that where he's like, something happened in, but it's finds out that he's just an abusive person, which that's the signs of abusive person. Ain't no PropJosh: You watch that movie, the movie that they suing each other over? okay. That's usually the case in these movies. yeah, in real life, yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: There's no way, I don't care how much I'm beating somebody else up, that I would ever lay a hand on a woman just instinctively. That's not in my instinct. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Unless that woman was coming up behind me to to do something to me, I'ma smack the fucker. If she was coming up with a bat or something behind me, I'ma knock the fucker ass. PropJosh: But even though even goodness. jason: my goodness. I'm saying like the way that scene was made, but yeah. What were you saying, Josh? PropJosh: Well, I I was gonna say the fact that he just snapped like that and started beating his ass immediately was that should have been a red flag. That's why I was like it should have been longer before they got together 'cause it's like y you now you know he has a very, very, very quick temper. jason: Yeah. Well, let's let's put yourself in his shoes for a second. So first scene, ex-husband comes to the door, disrespects you, right? You say to get off my property, whatever, I'm a you know, well, all that stuff. You don't know why he come back, we find out. But no, I'm saying that's fine. He didn't fight. But the next time you see him, he's all up on your wife in his mind, because he thought the lit he was wrapped up kissing, making out. They to like his perspective is that he's seeing his this 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: I'm not gonna start fighting the dude. I'm I'm gonna probably yell and cuss. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: ex-husband kissing on his wife. So like at that point, words are no longer needed. Like, hey, y'all stop kissing. You know? Hey, what's what's going on? You know, like was that that's what you think? I don't yeah, I mean I I he told him to get off the property. He up in the house kissing up on his wife. 7evenThirty: B T A PropJosh: Okay, fair enough. Fair enough. 7evenThirty: Yeah, the throw the throwing of the hands was was well warranted in that situation. He told me to get off the property and now I'm in the house kissing on his wife. It don't matter that that's my ex-wife, as that's the mother of my child at this point. She's moved or she's supposed to be in a new relationship. I should be leaving her alone. I'm manipulating her, whatever I'm doing in this moment. In this man's house, he needed his ass whooped. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Good point. He'll yeah, he needs his ass whooped. That's true. That's true. I'm just saying he kinda taped. 7evenThirty: this is Marcus's lawyer. Sh shut up, Marcus. PropJosh: So yeah, they of course are at the police station now 'cause they said I forgot what they said, he has like a broken nose or something, the the ex husband. jason: No, he's got bruise, 7evenThirty: He got broken real. jason: yep, he's an ICU. So it's like he gonna he gonna be we gonna keep your husband until until if we can question the guy, you know? So yeah, that was really good. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. I love his acting right here. He's talking to himself. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. You might have to play that part. 7evenThirty: That's what he's saying, you know. Too bad you don't get to choose your family, but when you're older you can. He's saying what his stepfather used to tell him. Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah, yep. That was good. And he kinda snaps out of it. But you can really see yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah. That little twitch that that little quirky had, I think Tay Diggs could added that to the character. I think he did that. Mm-hmm. I think that's his touch that he did. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: of course. I mean Tay Dix is a great actor, n no doubt about that. So jason: Yeah, which is w that was made me like even more, man, he's he is committed to the crazy. And we know, as ridiculous as we know this movie's about to go and it's continuing to go, we knew exactly yeah, like this was the perfect person to do this. So man. But yeah, so he's an ICU. the husband, the ex husband is an ICU or whatever, and he's like, We can't let you go until you could be trial murder if he if he ever wakes up, you know, the cops. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. jason: but we never hear anything else until the next scene we see him out. The daughter was the one that called him over in the first place, which I guess it makes sense. She's trying to reach out to her father. 7evenThirty: Yes. Look at this acting. PropJosh: Of course. 7evenThirty: Look at this. This dude just had his ribs broke. Just got out the I see the intensive care unit. He walk around the house like, yeah, so so how you doing? my god. my ribs. Yeah, he was just walking around all fine. Right. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Ha ha ha. PropJosh: That's what that's what I'm saying. That's why I thought he just had like a broken nose. They should have just said he had a broken nose. jason: No, they said he was an ICU unconscious. That's what they said. PropJosh: Like he we don't know if he's gonna wake up ever again and then he's next scene he's all walking around doing backflips. That's why they should have just said he had a broken nose, being more realistic. 7evenThirty: And then he's walking around like, man, that was crazy, wasn't it? jason: Yep. Yep. 7evenThirty: Remember when that one guy beat my ass? And I never learned my lesson? Cause he never learned his lesson. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Wake up. jason: No, he didn't. PropJosh: right, of course. jason: So yeah. I don't blame the daughter for trying to reach out to her dad. She has every right to talk to her dad. and so I think that PropJosh: Course. 7evenThirty: He just leaning over the counter like ain't like his rib ain't broke. ooh, ooch, ouch, ooch. Yeah. Yeah, he grabs his rib real fast, like, yeah, I forgot I'm acting. jason: So she's a little suspicious. PropJosh: yeah, I remembered my rib hurts. yeah. Ow. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: It's like he heard you in his image first rib. jason: yeah, I have to act. 7evenThirty: Right. jason: Yep. So, this is the scene that you're talking about where she he talks about he talks to her a little bit 'cause she's being disrespectful. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But 'cause he's trying to console her. She's like, Well, you know, no offense, but you're not my father. I don't have to ask you for permission to go somewhere. She she was trying to go somewhere and she asked her mom and went around him. And then he was like, Look, I'm the man in the house. jason: Yeah. Well, she didn't know. She didn't ask her mom, actually. She lied. You know, 'cause you Yes, 'cause she just made up the plan right there. She wasn't even she didn't even have time to ask her mom. So she was just using it as an excuse. She lied. And so when he said, he's like, Did you ask you no, you asked 7evenThirty: she was lying right then? PropJosh: Mm, okay. 7evenThirty: okay. So she's getting on the Anthony list, I see. PropJosh: Anthony LaRusso. jason: So yes. 7evenThirty: And this daughter's getting on the getting herself on the fuck Anthony list. Yeah. jason: LaRusso. Yeah. So yeah. So but yeah, he did say, Hey, you need to be asking you and your me and your mom about this. 'Cause that is that is like she's a kid. She definitely needs to be is making sure she's okay in responsibility. But he is crazy. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: But I like how he playfully scared her at the end. He just like made it kinda yeah, he handled that really well. Look how bruised up this man's body is, and he just walking around like doo-doo do do. And what the fuck is T is a ninja? PropJosh: Ha ha ha jason: This is the moment that I knew I knew he was gonna die right here in this scene. PropJosh: You well you know that crazy means you're a ninja. Anytime someone's crazy, yeah. Yep. And you can't die, all that stuff. jason: Yes. 7evenThirty: Crazy means you're a ninja and you're super strong. How did he get into his jason: Yes. And in vulnerable. You can bulletproof. 7evenThirty: house without making a sound? PropJosh: Yep, all that stuff. Any everybody knows that when you're crazy in a movie you have s extra superpowers. Yep. jason: You're bulletproof, you're ninja. Super speed and visibil invisibility. And again, 7evenThirty: Right. Stealth. Right. jason: what does this guy do? Look at this house. It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous house. Like, my goodness. man. Yeah. PropJosh: I know is that's a mansion. That's a fucking mansion. Goodness. 7evenThirty: Look at this house. PropJosh: Yeah, he's just a substitute teacher. That's how movies be. Movies be like movies be like, Yeah, I'm a cashier at at Walmart and yeah, big matchup jason: my goodness, with a house like that. Yeah. So what does Tamar Braxton do? What does Tay Diggs do? What does he do? Like, we don't got none of that at all. but he does say something actually he does mention he does mention something about her dad's money at one point. The husband the ex husband mentioned something about her dad's money. PropJosh: No. It doesn't matter. We all live in big houses. 7evenThirty: Look at that stove, man. That's a good ass oven, man. Well he he does some kind of contract work or something. Like he's he's he's like a contractor or some shit. PropJosh: That makes sense. Yeah. I guess that that makes sense. jason: That's what the the ex husband does? okay. All right. Well, what happens, Josh? 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: he sneaks up behind him and kills him. Sh strangles him. jason: We're halfway in the movie, so yeah. More than half. Yeah. PropJosh: more than half at this point. Just well, yeah. 7evenThirty: And then he breaks his neck. Yeah. But this was well shot. When he breaks his neck. It's a nice house. jason: Yeah, that was cool. I mean, it's not cool that he killed him, but it's 7evenThirty: Yeah, that was a that was a good effect. PropJosh: so he can make it look like trying to make it look like he fell downstairs. 7evenThirty: This is Jason's lawyer. This is mister Abrams' attorney. Killing isn't cool. Is the is there anything jason: man. 7evenThirty: I else I can do, Mr Mr. Abrams? No, that's enough. That's enough. Okay. PropJosh: Ha ha. jason: that's enough, that's enough, that's enough. Let's continue this podcast. Okay. man. So yeah, I was like, Yep, this is what I was waiting on. He's he definitely murdered, he murdered him. And now it's like, how is he gonna get over this situation? So 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, but 7evenThirty: yeah, then you find out how he met his jason: this is the scene. That's the scene that she says that she still has feelings for him. PropJosh: Yeah, that's what I was gonna mention. I was like, you kind of broke, kind of went over it real quick. Yeah, yeah. Cause she says they they probably need to take a break. So, which to me was kind of dumb. This whole to me, I mean, he took it kind of well. I mean, on the outside, but not of course not in the inside. He's going crazy, but it was like a weird conversation because she's like, I still care, I still love my ex-husband. Like, what? I I didn't like that. I didn't like that plot line. jason: Yeah. Went past that, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it was a couple of weird things because 7evenThirty: Wait, so are you trying to take a break or you trying to break up? Like w which one you trying to do? jason: Yeah. I mean, so he says he says the name of his his dead wife, at one point. Like he yells her name out at one point. And so she's like, Hey, who is Bella? You know, and so that's when he says, Well, Bella was, you know, she was the one that you know, I had and she cheated on me, but he didn't tell her. He he killed her, but he was like, She cheated on me. She cheated on me or something like that. And so that was like PropJosh: yeah, yeah. Yeah. Or Beverly or somebody. Bella. Beverly. I knew it was Beverly. 7evenThirty: The Beverly Hill lilies. Sorry. jason: That was PropJosh: He looks exactly like Ned Flanders, jason: him PropJosh: by the way, dude. 7evenThirty: Well, you mean like that outfit? PropJosh: Yeah, he's one hundred percent Ned Flanders. Like I'm just gonna be Ned Flanders for this part. jason: Yes. This was weird. it's funny. But so he he tells her about this, but we see what really happened. and so, you know, he tells her that she cheated on him or whatever, and and that's why he he kind of got triggered. Now, the response for her that he got triggered from that is you know what? Yeah, we need a break because we rushed in. I don't know a lot about you. I think that it's kind of like. That's where, yeah, they definitely rush things because she didn't even know about his exes, you know, which of course, why would she know? Cause he wouldn't tell her that he murdered all of his exes. she knew that she wouldn't have been married to him. So but yeah, I don't know. Like her response was just basically like, well, I'm still ha I don't know if I still have feelings or maybe I still have feelings, so let's just take a break. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. But That was that was dumb for her to say that. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: This also establishes Isn't this the part of the movie where we start to see that he's got distinctive separate identities? jason: Yeah, there's a moment. We can we'll we'll play that 'cause he he leaves. PropJosh: No, like multiple multiple personality. 7evenThirty: It's it's not just different personalities, it's different identities. You know what I mean? jason: It's Yeah. So like he leaves he leaves after like hey, you know, we need a break. He ends up driving away and going to a hotel. 7evenThirty: Foda-se a criatura com esses inícios movidos! PropJosh: Ha ha jason: It's a to be 7evenThirty: that jason: to be commercial. 7evenThirty: I don't remember that at all. jason: That's what it is, response to to be commercial. Ludicris is in a to be commercial. So yes. 7evenThirty: But no, it's kind of it's like split. It's not just his personality changes and he don't remember what happened. It's that he's got completely separate identities who all know each other and talk to each other, and they all remember what happened. You see what I'm saying? It's like it's it's a dissociative, it's dissociative identity that he has. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: They all each of them I think had a different wife. Yeah. 7evenThirty: It's not just multiple personality. It's like he has a whole different identity. that's distinctively from each other. You know what I mean? This is the scene, yeah. That was that was well illustrated. jason: Yeah. Yeah, let's yeah. PropJosh: yeah, this is a good scene. 7evenThirty: It's three different parts. jason: This is good acting for him 'cause he sounds completely different between the three different people. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: And he does call different names. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, they're different. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, that's how you know it's a whole different identity. 'Cause they all got different names. jason: Mm-hmm. So it's two talking back and forth. Distinction. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Then there's a third. 7evenThirty: Right. The Ned Flanders one. Kennedy. jason: That's Kennedy. Yeah. So that's actually that was that's probably my favorite scene just because, you know, you see Tay Dick, Leon and Darnell, I think. 7evenThirty: Wait, so there's Kennedy. PropJosh: Leon Darnell. 7evenThirty: Leon and Darnell. Yeah, Darnell is the main version of him. Leon yeah, Leon is the is the id, I would say. And then Ken Yeah, yeah, yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: That's the one that we see that we've been following. PropJosh: Right. Yeah. The original. Leon was the one that was a kid. So he's part of the the original. He's the original. And Kennedy is the Ned Flanders one. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. Yep. Yep. So very good writing and like as far as like developing like a multi layered multi personality character. And and Tay Diggs can bring it. Right. That was that was the part right. Right. You you don't expect there okay, there's three distinct personalities going on here. There are three distinct identities. jason: That was the part I didn't expect. Yeah. Not just him trying to make up like we knew he was crazy, but we also and we knew that he was being different people. Like you can be a different, you can be like, yeah, pretend to be a different people person so you can go and you know continue like yeah, I'm gonna change my identity. But no, he literally is these are could distinct by himself distinct per personalities and people. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. On purpose. PropJosh: Yeah, so yeah, 'cause it was 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: established that because is this the part when they're talking to the therapist? no, no, they're talking no, no. So 'cause we 'cause we missed the therapist part and the therapist was defending Leon, Tay Diggs, and was explaining that he doesn't know what he's doing. 'Cause she was when the cops were approaching her about him and and she s also mentioned that he calls every now and then when he gets a new family. jason: No, that's his that's our brother. 7evenThirty: No, that's the brother. Mm-hmm. jason: Mm. Mm. 7evenThirty: Or or he he normally calls her right when he gets ready to do something to his family. And and that's what he's calling her now. And she like, shit. Cause his perfect family has been ruined. PropJosh: Right. jason: Yeah. Yep. So that's the therapist he's talking. So he calls the therapist. They track the phone. The cops is like, Okay, we gotta find him 'cause he's gonna we're gonna go ahead and they figure So they drive an hour and a half to find him, but they don't know where he's at. They end up going to the hotel and PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. So yeah, he's calling her now. 7evenThirty: The greatest cops in the world. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 'Cause he left a house to stay at a hotel for a little bit, I think. Is that what happened? jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah, he just stayed there for a little bit, not even I don't think overnight. just to kind of cool off. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Like the these cops ended up doing some shit that me and Josh would do if we were looking for somebody. Like they didn't do anything spectacular. Right. They didn't do anything spectacular that some trained detectors would have access to. They just went around asking questions like anybody else could. jason: Ha. PropJosh: Ha ha ha jason: Not trained detectives. Not trained detectives. 7evenThirty: That was funny to me. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: Mm-hmm. Let's listen to the conversation. Ha ha. 7evenThirty: The whole thing of the jason: Yes. Is acting. Why can they arrest him? 7evenThirty: You can't arrest him for what? jason: All of a sudden. PropJosh: I know exactly all this information. jason: There's a photo of him and the family. And the plot thickens. Like, what's that? They cleaned his room. 7evenThirty: He he didn't he he he well see it wa it was dumb because PropJosh: Well I well I just wanted you to I it's not it's against hotel policy, so I just wanted you to leave. Well watch Because I wanted to keep the picture for myself. I like pictures. jason: Why steal his picture of his family? Why did the hotel There's a bunch of things wrong with that. So maybe maybe he did 7evenThirty: But it was dumb because she was like, I thought you said he didn't check out. Like he didn't check out the room service. But why did room service steal his picture though? He didn't check out. jason: of his family. Why PropJosh: And jason: did he leave PropJosh: he did check out. I don't know. They said room surface cleaned his room. I don't know. 7evenThirty: He didn't check. He j he said in the beginning of the conversation, he didn't check out. That mean that he still checked in and there and the and they were gone and the room service stole his picture for no reason. PropJosh: They stole he's still there and they stole his picture. jason: he cleaned the room. Cause I mean, room service can come while you're gone, even though you're still they they clean the room. They can clean the room. They don't mean of my family. They found this while we were cleaning the room. Like this is 7evenThirty: That's what I'm saying. And they don't need to be stealing my goddamn pictures of my place. So why PropJosh: Yeah, that's true. Ha ha ha! 7evenThirty: did why did room servant why was that picture in his office? That's like that's let the that's like the African lady. why was my picture in church? Why why was my picture in the front office? PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: I think he really did check out. That's what happened. Ha ha ha. jason: So why? You said, Josh, you said he did check out. PropJosh: Yeah, maybe he did check out they just you know, he just 7evenThirty: He didn't check jason: So why was why 7evenThirty: out though, because the dude said he ain't check out. jason: did he have to lie if he did? Like why? PropJosh: He didn't wanna 'cause it's against ho I think he actually did check out. I think the hotel guy was just bullshitting. He was just lying. He just wanted them out of his face. 7evenThirty: Why would he lie to the cops then? Why would he be like, man, they he checked out, he found this picture. The cops asking questions. jason: But I mean, listen, listen, listen. Okay. Okay. PropJosh: Maybe he ad lived the scene. jason: No, this is how hotels work. If you pay cash for a room, you already pay for it. Pay for one night. you don't have to check out because you already paid for the room. After one night, you're done. So like you can leave at any point you want, anytime. The fact that they stole the picture before the day of his checkout is the wrong thing. Cause I mean, like, he don't have to be there. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Right. That's thank you. Thank you. They stole the picture and the dude said he hasn't checked out yet. PropJosh: Obviously. jason: It's the next morning. Like at the next morning is when you check out. You know what I mean? Like, so it's like he could have come back in a little in made in the middle of the night. Good detects was like, well, maybe we'll stake out this space, you know. But no, they actually had to get that picture so that they can have a reason to do facial recognition so they could find the family, because that was the only way that they would be able to find the family. So that's that work. So Tay Diggs has this bright idea. He's like, All right, I'm we're gonna take a 7evenThirty: That was the only plot device that that that that they could use to move it forward. Mm hmm. PropJosh: Really? jason: Take a break, but because I'm such a good chef, I want to do one last thing, you know, kind of a full circle, 'cause that's how we met. You know, we met, you know, in the in the in the in the grocery store. So I want to make a meal for the family. to kind of say, you know, goodbye, we'll come back later. So I'm gonna make this meal. And she's like, that's so sweet. And so he goes to the drug he goes to the store, he's thinking he's buying groceries, he just literally buys one thing of rat poison and like he's about to murder his family. And so, 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: yeah, 'cause the store 'cause the cashier was all like, I I can help you, my my brother actually helps kill pests and stuff. He's like, No, that's okay, that's okay. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Yep, yep. No, no, no, no, no just need his rat poison, leave me alone. So so he's planning to kill everybody. wife and two kids, invite all over. PropJosh: Yep. And the the boyfriend of the oldest daughter shows up k and bothers him. So he's like, Come outside and jason: And he was like, crap. 7evenThirty: He's like, Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna make some yeah, we're gonna get get some firewood. It's like all right, sir. And they go out there and he smacks him upside the head with a shovel and kills him with the shovel. He's like, Yeah always hated you. jason: Come get the firewood. Yes, sir. PropJosh: But jason: Yep. So Yep. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: So PropJosh: and this that's when the oldest daughter was looking for the boyfriend. Where'd he go? And he's so obviously lying. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah, I love I love this. Wanna be a commercial. I was like, I love that scene. Cause she's all like, Yeah, it's like, where did where did he go? Tav's like, he had a mercy with his mother. She's like, well, that would have been great excuse if his mom didn't die. 7evenThirty: There was a PropJosh: 'Cause he was he he had to he had to go check on his mom. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Right. Obviously, right? jason: That was funny. I love that 'cause I'm like, man, caught him in a lie. He's like, okay. Let me play when she says it 'cause that's actually funny to hear her say it. PropJosh: you should play it. Play it. He said to call you he said he will call you back. jason: Yeah. So yeah, he's making the family, everybody's favorite meal. Got a little twitch. Yep. So she's suspicious. Yeah, she's suspicious. So she's figuring out like what's going on with this dude. Mm-hmm. Cause she calls him dead. and meanwhile, go ahead, Josh. PropJosh: She said that's not like Brad. Yep, now she's suspicious. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Wait a minute, did you kill him, Dad? Right. Now I got to kill you. PropJosh: Right. But they yeah, so they get well he gets the family all together about to eat and but I was yeah, I was gonna skip to the meanwhile as well that the brother of the wife, he's like he yeah, he talked to the daughter about like trying to find what happened to the her dad 'cause she 'cause she's been calling him and he hasn't been answering. So it's like all right, right. So I was like, All right, let me go and jason: Yeah. They were supposed to go out. PropJosh: That's where he snaps. But it's like is this a still a jason: Yeah, I think it's a fla I think it's a flash. Yeah. That's also this I I like that scene though. Let's let's play it 'cause it was funny. But what were you saying, Josh? PropJosh: yeah, yeah, because she said, You ain't my daddy. but yeah, the the brother goes and tries to find the the dad. So that that's what's going on. jason: Okay. 'Cause she's asking 7evenThirty: you you know what else is a commonality I notice in these movies and Chris Stokes, kids talking crazy to adults. You ain't my daddy. I don't give a shit what you like the i even in a stepmother at some point too, like it's always the same where a kid gets to yell at an adult and cuss out. It's pretty funny. jason: Yes. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep, let's listen. PropJosh: Me too. You ain't my daddy Shut up. You ain't my daddy Shut up. jason: I was hoping. I was hoping that was real. But it wasn't. That was just Uh-huh. That's exactly why. 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: That's why I do believe 100% that's where the line was right. When he was sitting down at his computer typing this out, that's what he was singing. That's the song that was playing while he was typing it. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: 'Cause that's a word for word quote from that. Yeah, stepdaddy. Yeah, you know you don't remember that song? PropJosh: That's yep. Stepdaddy. Yeah. Stepdaddy. You didn't know that? That's a 20-year-old song. 7evenThirty: Wait, is that a song? That's a song? No, I remember my I remember baby daddy. jason: No, that's the one I made. But no. PropJosh: That's a different song. Yeah. Cause John Witherspoon 7evenThirty: No I remember PropJosh: is in the in the video. He's in the music video. Yeah, that's that's a different song. And then there's one called Stepdaddy. Yeah, because John Witherspoon is in the music video. He's mouthing the words. Yeah, you gotta look this up. Man, that's a great song. I'ma call your mama. Call my mama. I'm gonna tell your mama. 7evenThirty: I remember who that is, my baby daddy, who that is. And there's a song about a stepdaddy? jason: Yep. 7evenThirty: What? jason: Yep. Yes, please look it up. Please look it up. I don't know. But that was that was hilarious and that was a lie. Call my mama. Tell 7evenThirty: Why don't I remember that? jason: my mama. I'm so bad. You're so bad as you ain't my dad. The fact that we still know that. So you ain't my daddy. Shut up. So yeah, it was really stupid. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: You so bad. I'm so bad. You just bad because you ate my dad. 7evenThirty: Wow, that's hilarious. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. jason: Yes. goodness. man. Okay. All right. So yeah, which is appropriate because it's this call's stepfather. So yeah. 7evenThirty: Should play that at the end of this. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. So then the brother calls the wife and tells her that he founds he found he found the father, her her ex husband, Timothy. Like he's he's dead. Yeah, yeah. So she that changes the mood of the dinner immediately. 7evenThirty: yeah, 'cause he went over the house and found him dead, yeah. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep. PropJosh: cause you know, cause he cause Tay Dix is trying to get them to eat. Like, all right, let's eat. He just finished putting the rat poison in there. Like, let's sit down and eat. Like soon as before they're about to bite. jason: Yeah. Everything's ready. Everybody got their favorite meal. Yep. Just eat. Eat. Take a bite. Take a bite. Just one bite, please. Take one bite. PropJosh: Just just just take it. Yeah, so this throws him off. 7evenThirty: Now if I'm at somebody's house and they're that eager for me to just take a bite, I'm gonna be suspicious as hell. PropJosh: And that's when they see his true colors. jason: Eat, eat, eat, please. Eat. PropJosh: yeah, exactly. I ain't gonna do mm mm. Wait, mm mm, what's going on? 7evenThirty: Wait, who is who is that they're talking to? jason: That's the old house that that Tamara was living in on this on her address. On her license or whatever. They're like, Okay, 'cause you know how good the detectives are. Got the wrong house. Now where do we go? 7evenThirty: okay. PropJosh: Yeah, 'cause it was all intense. 'Cause they I know, right? They were trying to find her and and and he was like about 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: to make them eat and stuff and it's like, no, they're gonna stop I I actually thought they was gonna interrupt. I thought they was gonna actually interrupt them eating. I'm like, it threw me off. jason: The cops is gonna come and stop. Nope. Cops did not. So instead 7evenThirty: Nope. Nope. These motherfuckers at the wrong house. jason: they go they go to the brother's house 'cause I mean, they go with the br find the brother, I guess. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah. They found out the brother just filed a police report and they were like, yeah, by coincidence so jason: yeah, this is when he's talking to all three of him p himself, interacted. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. jason: That's real. Okay, okay. We're gonna play it. We're gonna play it. We're gonna play it. We're gonna play it. 'Cause that's this is this is this is where Tay Diggs deserves every every everything. 7evenThirty: I love this part. I love this part. I love I love the part where the daughter's like, You killed my boyfriend's like yes, I killed your boyfriend. jason: We just gonna let we just we just gonna play all of this. We'll just have our commentary as we're watching this part. He just said, Hey, he's dead. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. This is when she finds out that So she just found out your your your yeah, your your ex husband is dead, so It's your father. jason: Said it just like her. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: Okay. jason: No. PropJosh: He's gone. jason: Where did he go? Where did he travel to? We still need to eat. PropJosh: Let's just eat. 7evenThirty: Now he's revealing his crazy. jason: Yeah. This is it. She didn't know he was crazy. 'Cause he PropJosh: Yeah, nice Leon. jason: He wasn't Darnell. He forgot his name. He's Leon. PropJosh: yeah, Leon's talking to him. 7evenThirty: Hmm. Yeah. jason: my goodness. 7evenThirty: That's my favorite part. jason: All right, all right, I'll muted. that was perfect. Yep. So if if you're listening to this and you haven't watched this movie yet, wasn't s we spoiled it for you, but that is the reason to watch the movie. And you know, that scene. So but the family the family goes in. Go ahead, go ahead, Josh. 7evenThirty: It said yes, I killed him. PropJosh: Yeah. this scene I alright, so I had to say something about this scene. This surprised me. So cause like he's a trying to attack and and the wife punches him in the face, I bust out laughing. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. Tabar Tamar had jason: Yes. 7evenThirty: them hands. She had that strong right hook. She said what? jason: Yes. PropJosh: I know. She got a good like she ain't no she ain't no dazzling distress. She punched him like a man. jason: She knocked him in the face. The littlest girl had a knife. She was like, they were going in. They were about to take care. They were taking care of business. Yes. 7evenThirty: Right. jason: They were taking care of business. So, yeah. So when you said the cops didn't do anything, Mark, you were right. Because who took care of business? He was about to kill the family, but the family, the family, yeah, they attacked him. PropJosh: It's like no. 7evenThirty: The cops literally didn't do anything. They didn't help anybody. PropJosh: They actually fight yeah, yeah, they fight him off. They actually stop him. Cause yeah, the wife shoots him. Yeah, shoots him in the shoulder. Now, the character I was talking about that I thought was gonna die and didn't was the brother. jason: They fight him off. She shoots him. 7evenThirty: Yep, and she's a good shot. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Yeah, she was a good shot. jason: Why did you think he was gonna die? 7evenThirty: Yes. I did think the brother was gonna die because he seemed like such an important character and he was all you know, love loving towards his sister. He was he was a good uncle and stuff like that. And I'm like, yeah, that's usually the character that gets sacrificed. jason: yeah. That's true. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, and he was and he was suspicious, a little suspicious. jason: Mm. PropJosh: Yeah, so he would yeah, somebody else that would have been close to her that would have died. jason: Right. Cause he could have right, he would have got jealous of the the friendship that he had, you know, that he and the sister had. So he was like, Well, you and my you're in the way, you know, and so he could have killed him. Yeah, that's that's that would have been that would have that could have happened. But yeah, detectives didn't do nothing. They gave it to the wrong house, they went to the wrong place, they just showed up after everything happened. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: And of course the stereotypical the stereotypical where is he? He's gone. We there's no sign of him. I'm like, of course there's no sign of him. jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Fucking how? How did he get out of that jason: He got shot 7evenThirty: house without nobody seeing him? He not dropping a trail of blood nowhere. He just got shot. Dude just got shot like in the sh in the chest or some shit, right? In the shoulder. He would have been bleeding. Blood would have been, he clearly went this way. We need to send some cops. What the fuck you mean he got away? jason: and he disappeared because nowhere he just got shot. PropJosh: Well yeah, the shoulder. He got shot in the sho the shoulder. jason: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yep. 7evenThirty: That was even lazier than the the ending of the first adopted. Cause at least at the first adopted, well, at the only reason I say that is because at least at the end of that movie, there was a shootout and you just didn't know what happened. And then at the beginning, right. Now that was bullshit that everybody fucking missed him. And that was dumb. And then but PropJosh: No, nobody beats that. Nobody beats that. Yeah. But all of missed all of missed him. Yeah. 7evenThirty: It's even dumber that he got a the Tay Dez got away without a the big ass muscle muscle dude that got shot in the shoulder bleeding everywhere. Y'all can't find his black ass nowhere. And then you know what's happening at the end of this? He's killing this family at the end. Cause he they're sitting down, he's like, eat up. You know, the only reason he tells his family to eat up is to eat their rat poison. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Next family. jason: yeah, he did write it, produced, written, and directed. screenplay, so Marcus Houston wrote this. But Chris Stokes got the story. So PropJosh: Marcus Houston. Yes. 7evenThirty: It sounded like Marcus Houston wrote the screenplay. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: So yeah. 7evenThirty: It's I think the the way they ended that was just a lazy way of opening it for the second movie. It's just yeah, he got away. Y'all already know we're gonna do a part two, so he got away. How? Don't don't worry about it. He got away. That that's so lazy. jason: Yeah. Mm hmm. Right. Right. Don't worry about it. Yeah. PropJosh: Right, yeah. Cause you know it's gonna be a sequel. I mean obviously it's gonna be a sequel. They they yeah. That's how that's why I knew how it was gonna end. That's why it was predictable. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: I I would have I would have accepted it better that he got caught and then somehow like on adopted he some kind of way break out the hospital or some shit. Like I I would have accepted that better. It wouldn't have been that different though, because that's literally what happened on adopter. jason: Got a way out of that. Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, that'll been cool. That'll been different. That'll been different. I know. jason: Yeah. But he was already set up for another family. Do you think it's a fourth personality or is it just the same three that he juggles? 7evenThirty: No, I think it's the same three personalities at war. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. Just changed his name 'cause he forgot his name at one point. 'Cause he's done it several times. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah, yeah. So that makes sense. But I'm here for it. I mean, I know it's gonna be another one. And so he probably already wrote it. You know what I mean? So they're probably filming it now. It'll be out tomorrow. man, yes, yes, yes. I'm here for it. Yeah. Like I said at the beginning, Tay Diggs knew the assignment. PropJosh: So they just alternate and switch around. That's probably what happens. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I I've already watched this one like three times. So I'm here for PropJosh: I know, man. Yeah. jason: and he showed up and he didn't hold back, you know. PropJosh: I s I swear. I think I think Chris Stokes I think Chris Stokes and Marcus Houston just be in the office writing every week a different script. jason: Yes. Come up with a script. Come up with a script. What you got this time? I got another idea. Here you go. All right. I'm pretty sure they got a stack of like twenty for every every other day. It's got another move another movie script 7evenThirty: Laughing they ass off. jason: coming through. So yeah. Keep coming, man. Keep doing it. PropJosh: They on they on a they on a adopted five at this point. They already wrote adopted five. It's just a matter of getting it done. jason: Mm hmm. Yeah, that's a good I mean, I'm pretty sure, you know how long it takes. So they definitely have written moo book movies before, unless they 'cause it probably takes about two month I would say two months to film a movie like this, you know? you got like maybe three scene three main Airbnbs that you that you rent out or one of the producers' house, you know. so you know, you kinda make that work. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah. To think it all started it all started with you got served. Yeah, that was this yeah, that was their first. And Marcus Houston, yeah. That was their first. You got served. jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: There was Chris Stokes. Yeah. jason: Man. Yeah. What you think about T D 7evenThirty: Which is fun to watch. RP Lil Fees. jason: Mm. 7evenThirty: when I think about Tay Diggs. jason: Yeah, and and his his embracing 7evenThirty: love take this he's one of my favorite yeah I think he's he's he's as always fun to watch he's he's he he's got a likable personality and and presence on screen but this is my first time I think seeing him I think this is my first time seeing him as the villain or just as the villain I don't remember well he was kind of a villain on best man though on best man he's kind of the villain jason: Mm-hmm. And a tubi. There's a villain in a tubi. PropJosh: As of w has he been a villain before? I feel like he has. I know, right? jason: I mean Best Man, he was absolutely a villain. PropJosh: Yeah, jason: He was he was a villain in Best Man. Yeah, he's not a he wasn't a good person. PropJosh: yeah. Man, and in a TV show. The TV show especially. He was not likable in the TV show. I gotta look it up. I think I've yeah. 7evenThirty: If if there's a villain, he's the villain. Yeah. jason: You were saying, was that when we were on the phone? I don't think we recorded it, but you talked about how he how he's has a sense of humor, right? You mentioned that on the phone. Tay Diggs. 7evenThirty: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He he has a he has a sense of humor for real. Like somebody who he's one of them beautiful people who was marketed for his looks when he was, you know, you know, just on his way through through his through his Hollywood journey. right, marketed as the sex symbol, you know what I'm saying? but jason: Early Hollywood, yeah. PropJosh: Right, how Stella got a groove back. That was him, right? jason: Mm. Yeah. 7evenThirty: In real life, he really he's really very probably very creative, but he's very silly. He don't take himself as seriously as he's portrayed to be taken in these movies. You know what I'm saying? and so his a lot of people like that, as they get older, they just start not giving a fuck. Like jason: Right, right. PropJosh: yeah, he was the reason Stella got her groove back. Okay. That's how much of a sex symbol he was. yeah, I I yeah, I'm I'm glad he's doing tubi movies 'cause some people would think that's a step backwards and I'm like, no man. I I that made us watch it immediately, seeing his name in it. So he's I think he got enough 7evenThirty: Yeah. He gave her that he gave her that groove. He put it in her, he put that groove back in. jason: He gave her that groove. That's young. And a young young T Diggs got Yes, he he 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: celebrity pool to get people into these movies. 7evenThirty: Yeah. I th I think to be is not necessarily a step back. It's a step in a different direction, definitely, though. There's a certain I think there's a certain audience and a certain lane and a certain expectation that comes with Tubi. With your stuff being on Tubi. It's like, okay, it's either going to be really ridiculous and not make sense, but gonna be entertaining as fuck, or it's gonna be a surprisingly good. jason: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: Right. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: independent movie that I didn't expect or it's gonna be straight trash. Either way, I'm j I'm open for either one. You know what I'm saying? There's a spectrum of Tubi. Right. Cause sometimes you come up on some surprisingly really good independent black movies on on Tubi, you know? So yep. jason: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: Right. jason: Low buzz it, yeah. All of the all of three all yeah, one of the other. Yeah. So Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: That's true. That's true. jason: Yeah, I'm here for it. So definitely here for it. Definitely watch it. I think that yeah, like I do think that because he know knew exactly what genre of movie he was in, he gave us what we wanted. So the craziness is like, yeah, let's let's let's go there and not the you know, which shows like you say he didn't take himself too seriously. So it's like if if you can see this and you can respect that about him. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hey no. jason: Then I think you'll love this movie in the way that he brings it. So yeah, we'll be we'll definitely be watching more. I say stepfather, keep coming. and then Tay Diggs, keep making crazy movies. We will watch them because there's another one on the list that is looks like the one that there's another one on the list I'm gonna watch. So all right. 7evenThirty: yeah, absolutely. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, we gotta check that one out. jason: Good night. 7evenThirty: Night.
