- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31You know, the weekend coming up has the time change and I often
- 0:36have such opinions on this. You know, I don't I don't love
- 0:41having to change the clock. I, I will the first one to admit
- 0:44it. I wish we would just pick one
- 0:45and stick to it. But I will say I do love that
- 0:48the sun is up earlier because it lets me do more and I can be out
- 0:52here earlier. I can be in the garden earlier,
- 0:55all kinds of wonderful things. And you know, I hear people talk
- 1:01about this often and complain about it.
- 1:04My mother's sister, my aunt used to talk about it all the time
- 1:10and she would lament this time change for weeks ahead of time,
- 1:14talking about how much it annoyed her and how much she
- 1:16couldn't stand it. And it, it like consumed her
- 1:20mind. It consumed her actions.
- 1:22It consumed her words. And I always found it very funny
- 1:25as a kid that she would spend so much time talking about
- 1:28something that we have no self, you know, we have no control
- 1:31over it. It's nothing that ourselves can
- 1:32do about it. It it's just that's the way it
- 1:34is. The time changes and I've
- 1:37noticed through my clients this past week, it's becoming a
- 1:41conversation. Now for some of us, the ones
- 1:44that are in different time zones makes perfect sense because we
- 1:46need to know what time zone we're in and the change will
- 1:49affect the time zone. And so we'll talk.
- 1:51We're like, oh, when do time change, only time change here,
- 1:54blah, blah, blah. I have to make sure I remind
- 1:55everybody because my clients in Europe time change different
- 1:59weeks than we do. So it's reasonable to have that
- 2:02conversation, but when you start thinking about how this effects
- 2:06you and you start complaining about it and lamenting about it,
- 2:10you are making it worse. And I'm having this conversation
- 2:14well ahead of Saturday because I think everybody really needs to
- 2:17know that this is not a something you should be doing.
- 2:20This is something that you should be just saying to
- 2:22yourself, you know what I am. I'm just not going to allow this
- 2:27to affect me. I'm just going to move on.
- 2:29It is what it is. I can't do anything about it.
- 2:31It's like being mad at grass for being green, or being mad at the
- 2:35sky for being blue. You're not.
- 2:37No matter how mad you are, you can't do anything about it.
- 2:40It will change when they decide to change it, and not a moment
- 2:43before. So what are you doing?
- 2:46Wasting the energy? Why are you talking about it?
- 2:48To make it worse for yourself? Why are you bringing all of that
- 2:51energy in? It's not worth it.
- 2:54And this is not the only place we do it.
- 2:56We do it with other things. We'll talk about if it, if it's
- 2:59a parking split, you know, situation, we have to go
- 3:01somewhere. I have to go downtown.
- 3:02It's so crowded. I don't want to go downtown.
- 3:05I can't get a spot. And then we complain about it
- 3:07days before we have to go downtown.
- 3:09We complain about things that are so inconsequential and we
- 3:13spend too much time complaining in general.
- 3:16So I am, I'm going to challenge everybody today as we come up to
- 3:21this time change to eliminate the complaining.
- 3:25Just eliminate the complaining. When you hear yourself
- 3:27complaining, just be like, no, I'm not going to complain
- 3:30because it's going to attract what I don't want.
- 3:32It's a very simple book and it it's a very simple way to think
- 3:35about it and just go, you know what?
- 3:37I'm I'm not going to complain, end of story.
- 3:40I'm just not going to complain. And if I'm complaining, that
- 3:42means I'm attracting it and I don't want to attract things,
- 3:44end of story. And it's hard.
- 3:48Let me just say that it's hard. And if you're not complaining
- 3:51out loud, you may be complaining in your head.
- 3:53So you have to pull yourself together.
- 3:55Stop that pattern in your head by saying no, I choose not to do
- 3:59this. I choose to have something else
- 4:01go on instead of this. I choose to think about how
- 4:04exciting it's going to be. So as I approach this weekend
- 4:07coming up, I'm going to choose to think about how, wow, all of
- 4:11a sudden it's going to be lighter earlier.
- 4:13So when I come out in the morning, I'm it's going to be
- 4:16easier for me to shoot the podcast.
- 4:18I'll be able to have it out earlier.
- 4:20It's going to give the girls more time to, you know, go out
- 4:23and roam around. It's going to make things, you
- 4:26know, the growing season start. Things are going to start to
- 4:29pop, so to speak. So I'm excited about it and I
- 4:33can focus on being excited instead of being irritated.
- 4:36So I'm going to challenge you all to do the same thing, to
- 4:39course correct that garbage that's going on in your head,
- 4:42throw it out the door, Don't take it with you and make a
- 4:44decision to be a non complainer, to be a positive force in the
- 4:49world because it's always better when you do.
- 4:52All right my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I will
- 4:55see you all tomorrow. Bye.
