- 0:05Fire. Where's the?
- 0:10Fire maybe? We should call 911 help.
- 0:13Somebody help? Hey Beaver, where's the fire?
- 0:17You guys look so funny running. I love so hard that I almost
- 0:22died. You 2 kill me.
- 0:26Hey ya little. Runt.
- 0:28You mean there's no fire? I never said there was a fire, I
- 0:32just said the word fire. I.
- 0:34Ought to. Clobber you.
- 0:36You're a pain in the neck, Eddie.
- 0:38He's my little brother. If anyone's going to clobber
- 0:40him, it's going to be me. Gee, Wally, what are you going
- 0:43to hit me for? I was just having a little fun.
- 0:46You have to be careful what you say, Beaver, even for the fun of
- 0:50it. Words are very powerful, and
- 0:52they should be chosen wisely. Wally.
- 0:55Are you going to start that? Watch what you say speech.
- 0:58Yeah, Wally, I don't need a lecture from you.
- 1:01I get enough of that from Dad. Would you rather I tell Dad?
- 1:05Yeah. Tell the old man.
- 1:07If I promise to listen to your lecture, will you promise not to
- 1:10tell on me? I promise.
- 1:12OK, but try to keep it short. It's almost like time.
- 1:16You said you laughed so hard you almost died and you said we kill
- 1:20you. You yelled fire when there is no
- 1:23fire and you called Eddie a pain in the neck.
- 1:26Well, he is a pain in the neck, you said so yourself lots of
- 1:30times, hey. Well, I shouldn't have said it
- 1:33like that, but my point is your words are like seeds that you
- 1:37plant in your heart, and you don't want words like that to
- 1:40produce fruit, do you? Laughing so hard you die, we
- 1:45kill you. That one's not such a bad idea.
- 1:48Knock it off, Eddie. I'm just.
- 1:50Kidding, Wally. Chi Wally, when you put it like
- 1:53that, it kind of makes sense. And what if next time you're
- 1:57really in trouble and you yell for help?
- 1:59We might not believe you and you'll be on your own, pal.
- 2:03She, Eddie, even you make sense for once.
- 2:06Thanks, Court. Can I go now, Wally?
- 2:08Sure. Well, that was quick.
- 2:13Oh, I'm not done. I have an idea.
- 2:19Do you think Beaver will? Fall.
- 2:21For it. Of course he will.
- 2:23He's a little kid. OK, sport.
- 2:25Anytime you're ready. Pizza.
- 2:30All right, pizza. Where's the pizza?
- 2:33What? Pizza.
- 2:35Well, I said the pizza guy was here.
- 2:37No, I didn't. I said pizza.
- 2:39I never said the pizza guy was here.
- 2:42You should have seen the. Look on your face.
- 2:45I get it. You're getting back at me,
- 2:48aren't you? No, I wanted you to see how
- 2:50important words really are. You should say what you mean and
- 2:54mean what you say. The Bible says guard your heart
- 2:57with all diligence for out of its bring the issues of life.
- 3:00Proverbs, 4/23. Where are you guys going?
- 3:05We're going. To get some pizza.
- 3:06See ya. Squirt.
- 3:07What about me? Can I come?
- 3:10I'm sorry for playing a trick on you.
- 3:13Wait up. Hey, Beaver, you little.
- 3:23Punk. You better get your face out of
- 3:25here before I smash it like I. Did the.
- 3:28Last time. I'm leaving Spike.
- 3:30I just wanted to bring you this. What is it?
- 3:34A. Bomb.
- 3:35No, it's a present. I hope you like it.
- 3:38Why are you giving me a present? Gee, I don't know, my brother
- 3:43thinks I'm crazy. I guess it's because God's love
- 3:46isn't me. Greater love has no one than
- 3:49this. Than to lay down one's life for
- 3:51his friends. John, 1513.
- 3:54But I'm not your friend. I know you're not, but we
- 3:58weren't Jesus friends when he died for us either.
- 4:01I know I'm not laying down my life by giving you a present,
- 4:04but it does kind of hurt knowing you might smash my face again.
- 4:14Beaver, why are you sneaking up on me?
- 4:17I wasn't sneaking. I brought you a present.
- 4:20My mom says people don't give you anything unless they want
- 4:24something in return. So what do you?
- 4:27Want nothing? Then why are you giving me a
- 4:30present? I guess it's because God's love
- 4:32is in me. Greater love has no one than
- 4:35this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
- 4:38John 1513 if. You think I'm going to be your
- 4:41friend now just because you're giving me a present?
- 4:45You can forget it. I know I'm not really your
- 4:47friend Mary Jane, but I hope you like the present.
- 4:58Excuse me, ma'am, Your sign says you work for food.
- 5:02I don't have any work for you and I don't have any food
- 5:04either. I just want to give you this
- 5:06present. No one is giving me a present
- 5:09for a long time now. Why would a nice boy like you
- 5:13give a present to someone like me?
- 5:15I can never give you 1 back. It's because God's love is in
- 5:19me. Greater love has no one than
- 5:22this. Than to lay down one's life for
- 5:24his friends. John 1513.
- 5:27But I don't even know you Well, I'm in the 3rd grade.
- 5:31I like to collect pennies. My name is Beaver.
- 5:33That's not what I meant, Beaver. I meant that I'm not your
- 5:37friend. So why would you lay down your
- 5:40life for me? I'm not really laying down my
- 5:43life. I'm just giving you a gift.
- 5:45I hope you like it. I never bought a gift for a real
- 5:48grown up before. Except my mom, but she doesn't
- 5:51count. Aw, Beaver.
- 5:54Thank you. Here's a penny.
- 5:57You don't have to give me a penny.
- 5:59It's probably the only one you got.
- 6:01It is. But I learned something a long
- 6:03time ago that you just helped me remember.
- 6:06What's that? God's love gives to others.
- 6:10Thank you. It's easy to love people who are
- 6:14nice to us or who love us back, but God wants us to love our
- 6:19enemies and do good to those who hate us.
- 6:21God loved the world so much that He gave Jesus even while we were
- 6:26still sinners. God's love in US helps us to
- 6:29give to others, even to those people that we may consider
- 6:33unthankful. Hey you dweebs, what did you get
- 6:41for Christmas? A football and some other stuff.
- 6:44Who you calling a dweeb, Eddie? Not you, Wally the Beaver.
- 6:48Look at him wearing his jacket like it's cold outside.
- 6:51What's the matter, Beaver? Mommy tell you to put on a
- 6:53jacket if you're going to play outside.
- 6:55Maybe my mom cares about me enough to want me to stay warm.
- 6:59Hey squirt, what are you saying about my mom?
- 7:01Leave him alone, Eddie. He's not saying anything about
- 7:04your mom. I'm wearing a sweater.
- 7:05How come you're not making fun of me?
- 7:08Hey, let's go down to the lake and play.
- 7:10It's frozen. Can't our parents told us to
- 7:12stay away from there? Yeah, on account of some kid
- 7:15almost drowning last week. Didn't you see it on the news?
- 7:19I didn't have to see it on the news.
- 7:21Who do you think he was playing with?
- 7:22You. That's right, he got a little
- 7:24careless and went too far out on the ice.
- 7:27And your parents are so OK for you to go over there.
- 7:30Nah, they've always said it was forbidden, but who listens to
- 7:32their parents? Oh, I guess you 2 are the only
- 7:36ones. Don't you love your parents?
- 7:38Eddie of. Course I do, squirt.
- 7:40Why would you ask such a dumb question?
- 7:42It's not a dumb question, Eddie. If you really loved your
- 7:45parents, you would obey them. Where'd?
- 7:46You get an idea like that. Jesus said if you love them, you
- 7:50would keep his commandments. That means obey.
- 7:53It's. True Eddie, remember when you
- 7:54liked Mary Ellen, you would do anything she told you to do?
- 7:58Yeah, so. Gee, Eddie, even I can figure it
- 8:01out. When you don't like someone, you
- 8:03don't do nothing, they say. Anything you don't do anything
- 8:06they say. OK, well, if you're sure you
- 8:11want to miss out on all the fun. We're sure, Eddie, but thanks
- 8:14for asking anyway. So are you going to the lake?
- 8:18No, I think I'll go home and see what's on TV.
- 8:21We got a nice big color TV for Christmas.
- 8:25A color TV. What a neat present that would
- 8:29be. Yeah.
- 8:31Hey, Wally, you know how the preacher said Christmas is the
- 8:34season to tell others the good news?
- 8:36Yeah, well, getting a new color TV is good news, isn't it?
- 8:40Well, yeah, what's your point? Maybe we can tell Dad to get us
- 8:44a new color TV so we can spread the good news.
- 8:47That way you got one too. That's not the good news.
- 8:49The preacher was talking about beef, but it's worth a try.
- 8:53Come on, let's go ask him. Special thanks to Shiloh
