Transcript
- 0:00Do you have like a relationship goal for twenty twenty four? A lot of
- 0:04people do New Year's resolutions, but those are very personal. Do you have
- 0:07a goal for your your relationship? So before we get to that, I
- 0:11want to talk about the survey that was done here about people's relationship goals for
- 0:15twenty twenty four. You know, people talk a lot about like media and
- 0:18like pushing agendas and trying to form the public's opinions. You know what I
- 0:22mean. I don't want to get into all that, but this is an
- 0:24example of that. Not the media, but a meat company. This is
- 0:28a survey done by Godshaw's Quality Meats Amanda, and you know what they discovered
- 0:32were people's biggest relationship goals for twenty twenty four. Sorry, I'm really trying
- 0:36to understand this, but why is a meat company telling me about my relationship?
- 0:40Just companies, they like to conduct surveys and in this case what this
- 0:44Quality Meats company conducted a relationship goal survey and number one, believe it or
- 0:49not, with a resounding fifty per seven percent of people couples say they want
- 0:53to make more ethical food choices. That was number one. Yeah, what,
- 0:59well, I mean, don't be. So you tell me if I
- 1:00had asked you and Nick what your goal for twenty twenty four was, he
- 1:04wouldn't have said to make more ethical food choices. No, you know what
- 1:07I'm guessing You're not. Got a hunch is that Godshall's Quality Meats probably is
- 1:11pushing the fact that they make ethical food choices. I'm guessing, so that's
- 1:14my suspicion. But number two, they said, couples are also saying,
- 1:18and this is it's right behind a fifty six percent, they'd like to develop
- 1:22more eco friendly daily habits. And I know I've heard you say that out
- 1:26loud, that you and Nick are trying to make more equals daily company must
- 1:30have, well something in our bedroom. This was some pillow talk we were
- 1:34having last right, Yeah, they must have a hidden hidden camera in the
- 1:38room. This is bizarre. And number three, obviously, couples are saying
- 1:42in twenty twenty four they'd like to limit their red meat consumption. This is
- 1:49a survey done by the meat company. So that said, okay, those
- 1:53are the three obvious ones. Was there anything on there about the way we
- 1:57should not attend every meat raffling town? They say, Yeah, what number
- 2:01four was that? You should exclusively be purchasing me from Godshaw's quality. Oh
- 2:08my gosh. And I know that's been number one for Lauren and I for
- 2:12a lot for years now. We've been striving for that. But we'll get
- 2:15there. But all those aside, Amanda, do you have a relationship goal?
- 2:19And if you want to chime in with maybe your relationship goal? Phones
- 2:21always open seven one ninety eight seven. What would most be? I think
- 2:24Nick and I always try to do the golden rule of like still dating each
- 2:30other. Golden rule, that's not the one I know what's rule? Well,
- 2:36I'm treating others how you'd like to be treated, right, But in
- 2:38a relationship, it'd be nice to continue to date more, I mean,
- 2:43go out on dates, actually taking more time away from our kids. It's
- 2:46just it gets to be challenging, all right, spend less time with your
- 2:50kids, got it? It's a good goal. A good goal, Aman
- 2:57is striving in twenty twenty four get them away from a No, but kids
- 3:01could easy alone TOI. We just really we really need some us time,
- 3:07and it is it is hard to do because the days just get away from
- 3:12us and sometimes we'll look and goo, been a minute. I mean listen.
- 3:15I can imagine. I can imagine. Now. Conversely, Lauren and
- 3:20I were trying to spend less time together in twenty twenty four. Oh,
- 3:23stop it, you already you already do that with your extra career when you
- 3:27don't have what do you mean you oh, when I'm away? And yeah,
- 3:30like you have a lot of side hustles, just busy bee. But
- 3:35Amanda, I would say ours are largely financial, you know, like we're
- 3:38trying to be adults now, trying to save and build a little bit of
- 3:42a you know, an emergency fund and debt, paying off debt, trying
- 3:46to pay you know, a car loan, things like that. Yeah,
- 3:49we had all of that ready to go, and then we had kids,
- 3:51and it's just weird. It got siphoned completely away. Just by the way,
- 3:55did you tell her that you gambled this weekend while you were gone?
- 3:59You know what? I hate to admit this, but I did gamble.
- 4:02Now, I never said I was done gambling forever, but you did.
- 4:05I mean, not that I'm calling you out, but did you tell her
- 4:08you did? I had to, I was my hand was forced because we
- 4:13went to the casino. My friend and I wear away in Omaha, doing
- 4:15a little work trip, and so we go to this casino and I had
- 4:19another card that is just mine, right, and I thought, oh,
- 4:23I have some money on there. So not that I wouldn't have sent anything,
- 4:27but at the very least she wasn't going to look at our shared checking
- 4:30account be like, oh geez, somebody had a visit to the ATM and
- 4:32Harah's in Omaha. But it didn't work, so I had to use I
- 4:38was forced to use our shared account, so I had to say, oh,
- 4:41She's like, oh, what did you do? Probably a good thing,
- 4:43a good karma now. Thank god I won, So that made the
- 4:46conversation a little easier. She likes she's not as mad, believe it or
- 4:49not when I say, yeah, I actually want some money, all right,
- 4:53So the financial thing is going good. So far, so far,
- 4:56so good. Yeah, if I just keep winning at the casino. Fingis
- 4:58Sony going to get better? Amanda in the morning, Big ninety eight point
- 5:01seven? Oh no, Amanda stills the sea. Let's see brought to buy
- 5:06Valley Service Mechanical. The only reason I tuned in last night is because it
- 5:12was right after football, and I'm like, oh, I'll give the monologue,
- 5:15a peek. Usually that's how you can determine whether or not an award
- 5:17show is going to be good. But now, what was last night?
- 5:19This was the Golden Globe Awards, which is for movies. Yes, and
- 5:24it is not the Oscars. It is not the Oscar. What's the difference?
- 5:27Why are we doing that? One's a Golden Globe, one's an Oscar.
- 5:30Literally, that's all. You're welcome. Yeah, hard hitting news for
- 5:33the elaborate explanation, Now I get it. I also was tuning in because
- 5:38I knew Taylor Swift was going to be there, and honestly wanted to know
- 5:41whether or not Travis Kelsey was going to be with her, even though because
- 5:44there were some rumors that maybe they'd be walking the red carpet together, because
- 5:46he was also there because he was playing football against the Chargers. Long story
- 5:51show, and he was an ass weird, but he had a game,
- 5:55had a football game. He's focused on that. She's serviced on this.
- 5:58She's there for her movie, the concert movie. Yeah, there was like
- 6:00eight nominations for that, for cinematata, cinematic amatid, for tada something like
- 6:06that. So anyway, start watching it and I look at the screen,
- 6:11like, who is this guy? I had no idea who Joekoy was.
- 6:15And I felt bad for him because he just kept trying and trying, and
- 6:17every time he'd make a joke, they'd panned to Kevin Costner, Merle Streep,
- 6:21whoever it was, and he just kept getting worse and worse and worse.
- 6:26It got so bad that this ended up happening. The key moment in
- 6:29Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breast cell you light and
- 6:32flat feet, ah or what casting directors call character actor? Right? I
- 6:40wrote, Some other people wrote Robert de Niro's here, Yo, I got
- 6:44the gig ten days ago. You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut
- 6:47up, you got you're kidding me right, slow down? I wrote somebody's
- 6:53and they're the ones you're laughing at. Look. I mean, I feel
- 6:55for him because, yeah, you got the job ten days ago, because
- 6:59nobody wants Nobody wants to be ridiculed. Because I don't care who you are.
- 7:01You could be the funniest man alive. You're gonna rub somebody the wrong
- 7:04way. And he very well, maybe very funny. He's a stand up
- 7:08comedian. That's all I know. About him, but that was so unfunny,
- 7:11and the little giggles he does after each line that makes it even worse.
- 7:15He thinks he's funny. He thinks it's funny. I know a girl
- 7:16who lives her life that way, do you? I do? He laughs
- 7:20at everything they say are hilarious, funny. I feel you, Joe,
- 7:26by the way, Oh yeah, Taylor Swift was there and there was a
- 7:30point that he tried to be funny one more time. And this one is
- 7:32going viral only because it's Taylor Swift and everybody thinks, oh, she's so
- 7:36upset about it. No, she's not. She's playing along with a joke.
- 7:40Listen. As you know, we came on after a football double header.
- 7:44The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL. On the Golden
- 7:47Globes, we have fewer camber shots of Taylor Swift. I swear, there's
- 7:51just where to go to. Sorry about that, and sorry about that?
- 7:57What like it was such a riscaue joke. It's not even a joke.
- 8:01It's what it's like, a knock knock joke these days, truly. Yeah,
- 8:05I heard a good knock knock joke lately. I haven't I wish,
- 8:09I wish I had one for you. No, I know, I know
- 8:11how it goes, I know the formatics of it sens for you. Jody
- 8:16Foster is sharing her thoughts on gen Z and a new interview, she said
- 8:20that she finds the younger generation to be just simply annoying. She says,
- 8:24they're really annoying, especially in the workplace. They're like, nah, I'm
- 8:26not feeling it today, I'm gonna come in at ten thirty. She also
- 8:30called them up for their lack of spelling and grammar. She says, we're
- 8:33like an emails, I'll tell them this is grammatically incorrect. Did you not
- 8:37check your spelling? And they're like, why would I do that? Isn't
- 8:39that kind of limiting? I just don't like to engage in the conversation of
- 8:43like which generation is better? Every generation does things differently, and that's hard
- 8:48to accept for the generations before you know whether it's good or bad, fair,
- 8:52and a lot like every generation learns from the people older than them.
- 8:56So there's things jen Z does that I'm like, yeah, go oh,
- 9:00good glad that's changing. As what, Pike, do you have any anything?
- 9:03I mean, there's just so many things with work right, like work
- 9:05life balance, boundaries, things saying no to things, things like that.
- 9:09They're all I think good now, like just showing up at ten thirty because
- 9:13he didn't want to come in, Like that's I think we can all agree
- 9:16a little annoying, Oh totally. But then you look at, for instance,
- 9:18one person that came to mind, who I guess would be considered a
- 9:22boomer now, which is hilarious, Johnny Depp. He kind of ended up
- 9:24being that guy. He's like, Eh, did this? Did that?
- 9:26I'm coming when I want to. Well, that's just being a bad boy.
- 9:30I mean that, like me and Travis Kelsey's worth about forty million dollars.
- 9:35But somebody did a little math, and I guess Taylor Swift's cat,
- 9:39Olivia Benson is worth way more than Travis Kelce in fact, over double really.
- 9:46So she adopted this cat. She adapted Olivia Benson back in twenty fourteen.
- 9:52And this cat is one of the world's richest cats. I should probably
- 9:56look into what other cats are rich cat Williams, do you see what he
- 10:01said? No? You know that is will you. He's also a comedian
- 10:03actor. He's in like Friday and some of these movies. Oh yeah,
- 10:07yeah, yeah. Anyway, so he like went on a tear on this
- 10:09podcast about a bunch of other like Chris Tucker was Steve Harvey anyway. So
- 10:13that's a cat who probably has a little money. But this cat is even
- 10:16richer, I'm sure. Yeah, no, this cat, Taylor Swift's cat
- 10:20is worth about ninety seven million dollars. Does this cat have endorsements? It
- 10:24must, I mean, I can't talk about this cat out of a lineup.
- 10:26If I'm meow Mix or i ams, that's your top prospect as far
- 10:31as celebrity endorsment. Well, the best cat food of all time is neutral
- 10:35source, so locally owned here in Oh yeah, well I I have to
- 10:39support a local company if I had a cat. Yeah, don't have a
- 10:43cat either, but my mom is cat's Yeah, my mom is a cat
- 10:46named Craig. He's not doing well. So if you could keep them in
- 10:48your thoughts, oh no, okay. I also love when people name their
- 10:52pets just old guy names, like I wanted a boy dog for this.
- 10:56I wanted to name a dog this is Greg know that kind of thing,
- 11:00right, I know we've already been talking for quite some time, but It's
- 11:01a funny story because so my friend and I in high school. His dad
- 11:05name. His dad's name is Craig. He's like the athletic director. He
- 11:07was at DGF. You know, love Craig. Craig to this day one
- 11:11of the best people in my life. But we thought it'd be funny to
- 11:15name the cat my mom had got at that time. So now me and
- 11:16high school we're talking, you know, fourteen years ago, so we named
- 11:20this cat Craig. Well, Craig is still living today. This is Craig.
- 11:24Yes, So Craig not doing well, as I said, not doing
- 11:28well at all. And so recently my dad passed away. We're at the
- 11:31funeral, and so my mom and I were talking at the church beforehand in
- 11:35Craig, my buddy's dad and his wife showed up and which was awesome.
- 11:39And so he comes up to talk to us, and my mom she would
- 11:41never claim to be the most like you know, traditional mom, like very
- 11:43silly, yep, as you can imagine. And so Craig walks up and
- 11:46the first thing my mom says to Craig, she goes, Craig's not doing
- 11:50very well. And Craig, mind you, the dad he has no idea
- 11:56that we named a cat after him, And so the look on his and
- 12:00look on my face because I hadn't put it together yet, and also it's
- 12:03kind of it's almost like she's probably looking at him as though I'm psychic and
- 12:09you're not doing well. I want you to know Craig's not. And he's
- 12:13like ah, and I'm like, oh god, and it clicked. Now
- 12:20at the funeral, emotions are high, and now I'm having to explain to
- 12:24my friend's dad that fifteen years ago we thought it would be funny and also
- 12:28hilarious, like if anybody needs a good icebreaker, let's talk about a sick
- 12:33dat at a funeral. Well, anyway, I hope you're doing well,
- 12:35Thanks for coming, Thanks for coming. Taking Amanda in the morning Monday morning,
- 12:43we do this a little number we call is it weird? Because we're
- 12:46weird people, admittedly, but how weird we find out? We find these
- 12:50little things that you just think to yourself, I don't know, is this
- 12:52just me? Where's everybody doing this? Amanda? Go ahead? So on
- 12:56Friday I get home and I'm like, oh my gosh, it was a
- 12:58little chili. I'm like, I'm gonna whip up some chili. Perfect,
- 13:03whipped it up in my husband's like, oh yeah, I'm gonna make some
- 13:05cinnamon rolls. What are you a lunatic? Like? Why are we making
- 13:11cinnamon rolls? Is this just your chance to tell everybody how great your husband
- 13:15is? No, just a just a cinnamon roll guy. Now, okay,
- 13:20he opened the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and plopped him in the oven. It's
- 13:24a friend, It's still effort. And then he said, we're eating these
- 13:28with our chili. Okay, No, no, I whipped it up real
- 13:33quick. Chili's the easiest to make. Well, he's talking about you whipped
- 13:35it up real quick. It takes fifteen minutes tops. No, you have
- 13:39to slow cook it for eight hours? Have I been? That's not You're
- 13:43doing this all wrong. You ground up the hamburger really quick. Well sure,
- 13:46so. Also, this is weird that it takes you this long toss
- 13:48in the chili, seasoning tomatoes. I know what goes in chili. I'm
- 13:52just saying, slow cook, that's it. I didn't have to. No,
- 13:56it took me ten minutes. You don't have the benefit then of the
- 13:58house all day long, just that chili simmering, no mag of the house
- 14:01smell delicious. My husband ruined the chili smell because he made it with cinnamon
- 14:05rolls, so everything was all sweet, and I thought he was crazy.
- 14:07I'm like, there's no way people are doing this. So I tried it.
- 14:11Well, you know, you're saying, what do you mean with it?
- 14:15Literally, you have a bowl of chili and you put the cinnamon roll
- 14:16in it in it and you eat it chili. Yes, you know how
- 14:20some people do corn bread. Some people put onions, cheese, sour cream
- 14:24whatever on it, saltine crackers. Yeah, he puts cinnamon rolls in his
- 14:28chili and you're wondering if that's weird. Absolutely I thought it was weird.
- 14:33Yeah, I'm gonna go with weird. Now. I will say having like
- 14:37a good corn bread muffin or even like a blueberrim, I get like having
- 14:39a little sweet muffin with the chili, But to put it in there is
- 14:43this banana's behavior. So tried it. It was amazing because it's that sweet
- 14:48spicy, and I always add a little bit of slap yomama on my chili
- 14:52so makes it a little bit more spicy. So good. It's just one
- 14:56of those things. It's like mint ice cream. My mint ice cream theory
- 14:58is that. Yeah, I like you say, a man, it was
- 15:00good, but it's only good because it's chilly like, it's not as good.
- 15:03Same with Min's ice cream. People only like it because well it's ice
- 15:07cream. It's not good ice cream, but it's ice cream. Oh see,
- 15:09I would go mint over anything mint or oreo orio mint, that kind
- 15:13of thing. Okay, all right, Well anyway, well I have one
- 15:16that somebody wrote in Okay, man, So this is a bit of a
- 15:18celebrity spot for one of our listeners, whose name is Matt. He wrote
- 15:22in he said, my wife asked me today if I've ever had to itch
- 15:26the top of my mouth with my tongue. Oh, sadly, she says
- 15:30it's itchy sometimes, Matt He said, I've never itched the roof of my
- 15:35mouth with or without my tongue. So he wants to know if this is
- 15:39normal or if this is weird. So that is one of the have you
- 15:41ever done that? I do like that. You know, if she about
- 15:46it itchy roof of your mouth, it's a weird sensation and it hits you
- 15:50out of nowhere. I would say maybe once maybe twice a year. It's
- 15:56not like a daily sense. But when it happens, you're like, oh,
- 15:58there's there's that thing again. Yes, but it is. It's like
- 16:02a tickle and it's like you almost want to take a tooth pressure or something.
- 16:06You know, but oh, I done that really now with the old
- 16:08reverse toothbrushing where you brush the roof of your mouth and try not to throw
- 16:11up. By the way, we are live on Facebook and Megan said,
- 16:15the cinnamon roll and the chili is a staple from lunch growing up. And
- 16:18my husband said, this is like a normal thing that they do in Iowa.
- 16:22Really, I was in Iowa this weekend. Yeah, weird folks,
- 16:26weird people. They didn't have the cinnamon roll in the chili or you just
- 16:30didn't have chili. No, they all running around brush prushing the roofs of
- 16:34their mouth. Though. Gosh, that is a funny one that he brings
- 16:37up because it's one of those things where it's like one of those physical things
- 16:41that happened to everybody, but you don't really talk about it. You know.
- 16:44It's like a lot of bathroom stuff too, where you'd be maybe that's
- 16:47just the boys that talk about that do. Yeah. Yeah, Were's like,
- 16:49oh, oh that happens to you too. Oh weird? Do you
- 16:52snapchat that, Maddie? Is it weird? Because I take you for the
- 16:56Is it weird? The guy who snapchats to your boys your bathroom? Don't
- 17:00let your husband. No, I will say, as gross as I am
- 17:03in vulgar at times, I draw the line at snapchatting bathroom stuff. Your
- 17:08husband, though I know is a frequent bathroom guy. Huh did he not?
- 17:12Did he not? Your husband? And I hate to do this because
- 17:15we're already making a look like this great guy just who just whips up cinnamon
- 17:18rolls on a Saturday. But did he not video himself go into the bathroom?
- 17:22I mean it's censored, but it was the act of going to the
- 17:26bathroom at the very least. Do you not remember this? It is like
- 17:29a happy hour two weeks ago. What why am I missing all of you?
- 17:33The one that told me you said your husband was going number one and
- 17:37there's just a video of it. I do not remember this at all.
- 17:40I see what you're doing. Yeah in the Golden Globe. Also really quick,
- 17:48Allie chiming in because Matt wanted to know about the itchy mouth thing.
- 17:51She says, that's because you have a food allergy. Is diagnosing all of
- 17:55us crazy people that there is a food allergy, Is that right? Well,
- 17:59it was making it. It makes you. If you're on Facebook live,
- 18:00you see me fingering the roof of my mouth here. But it's like
- 18:03a and you gotta go. You know, it's a weird sensation. One
- 18:07more time? All right, yeah, no, good, Now here's what
- 18:12you need to know. Well, let me ask you, would you ever
- 18:15get on a flight again if you were a part of this Alaskan Airlines flight
- 18:19that made an emergency landing on Friday when one of the windows flew out.
- 18:25One of the plane's windows just completely blew out. They were thirty five minutes
- 18:29up in the air, of course they had emergency landing. Witnesses say that
- 18:33their phones, personal belongings were completely sucked out of this missing window. There
- 18:37was a child that had to be held in his seat by his mom.
- 18:40Thankfully nobody was injured. One passenger was that's why the hospital. You know,
- 18:44people get annoyed when they make you buckle up and that seatbelt light turns
- 18:47on, But for reasons like this, Oh my gosh, a school teacher.
- 18:51I guess over the weekend found a missing door plug. Another person found
- 18:53a cell phone on the side of the road. Somebody else in their backyard
- 18:56there was a cell phone. Just from missing items a question. Could you
- 19:00suck a man through that window? I guess it depends on how how big
- 19:04the window is, because his body get I think because of the pressure.
- 19:08Yes, you know what I mean. I don't care how big you are.
- 19:12You're gonna be able really like you because of the pressure, you're gonna
- 19:18be able to I don't know. You think because of the pressure that those
- 19:22times. I'm looking at the TV screen right now, these windows are tiny.
- 19:25I don't think you could get a man through there. I don't think
- 19:27there's any chance that you could suck a man through. Do you think only
- 19:30a little kid? Personal? Although I did one of the old what's the
- 19:33Freddy Krueger movie? What's that called? Nightmare on Elm Street? Okay,
- 19:37there's a scene. It's hilariously you know, like old movies. Sometimes you
- 19:40watch them and it's like, oh, things weren't quite as good. Yeah.
- 19:41The mom is like waving good bye to their kids as they drive away,
- 19:45and it's the end of the movie. And then you know, the
- 19:45scary music comes in in a hand. Obviously, Freddy's hand reaches through the
- 19:49tiny window, even smaller than that of an airplane, and just suddenly her
- 19:53body turns into like a rag doll just takes her away. It just takes
- 19:56her. Did you like that story? Yeah, thank you for that.
- 20:00Thanks for bringing me back to a nightmare on Elm Street. I got more
- 20:04really needed that today. All right, are you a Stanley user? I
- 20:07do not have a Stanley. You can mark me safe from having one of
- 20:11those. But Stanley is limited edition insulated cups. People are selling them for
- 20:17like four hundred dollars a pop right now, and it is all because of
- 20:18the Gallantine's Day collection. It was a winter peak Starbucks color, kind of
- 20:22a glittery color. They only sold them at Target. There was a limited
- 20:26number of them and they were forty five bucks sold out. Now people are
- 20:30trying to hack him for four hundred bucks. That is insane to me.
- 20:33Well, it is. It's a water bottle. There's that. I have
- 20:37a couple of knockoff versions. Isn't that weird? You know? You feel
- 20:41like water bottle is something that like brand, you know, because clothing I
- 20:44get people like certain brands and adds value to the clothes. But a water
- 20:48bottle, what's next? A designer fork? You know? It's funny though.
- 20:52My daughter, what is she four? She don't ask me, she's
- 20:56four. Let me say this was called with confidence. My daughter, who
- 21:02is four, we were at the doctor's office the other day and after her
- 21:06appointment, they let you pick out a bunch of different like whatever toy you
- 21:10want. Yeah, there was a water bottle and my daughter got geeked out.
- 21:14She's like, oh, a water bottle. You're going with the water
- 21:17bottle? She just loved it. What a weird thing? Water bottle?
- 21:21It's I don't know. I don't listen. I'm just glad people are hydrated.
- 21:25Well, there's a lot of dads going. I've had Stanley in my
- 21:27life for years. I mean, Stanley the company has been around forever.
- 21:30I never connected those dots. That's the same company that would make like,
- 21:33what a screwdriver? Do you think they were really sucking man through that window?
- 21:40Just wait, Stanley? I was thinking still the thermes Stanley also,
- 21:47can you look this up? While we talked football? Here in a seconds.
- 21:49Stanley also do like work related like hammers, and it sound it sure
- 21:55sounds like a company that would make like tool boxes. Okay, look anyway,
- 21:59sound to go the state. Yesterday they were in the FCS Championship and
- 22:03they ended up winning. This is their second straight national championship, but they
- 22:07will not get a third. I feel like the dynasty as back. It
- 22:10looks like the Bison are ready to uh it's a rocket this year of course.
- 22:14Stanley, Yeah, they make like a tape measures, okay, utility
- 22:17knives, hammers, handsaws, and now how appealing is it? Now?
- 22:22Now they just need to start doing like a you because now they have on
- 22:25the Stanley's you can put your like CHARCOUTERI cup on top of it where you
- 22:27can put snacks, which is ridiculous. Now if you just get like a
- 22:30tape measure and a hammer on your Stanley and walk around, yeah, it
- 22:33just kind of like a is that what you just said? Like sort of
- 22:36universe Swiss Swiss army water bottle you got you gotta meet thermometersty not the end
- 22:42of the And I didn't realize it yesterday when we were walking into church,
- 22:48I had my big water bottle and it goes, Do you know how dumb
- 22:51you look yeah, like you're just you're serious, Like I left the purse
- 22:56in the car, I'm just carrying this water bottle. And he just said,
- 23:00there's just so ridiculous. Why do you mean this big, huge water
- 23:04box so you can take a sip of water halfway through the sermon? And
- 23:08I went up to go to the bathroom three times, so I was hydrated.
- 23:11But probably missed some really good life lessons yesterday at service because of sand
- 23:15light or I'm not got consumed by this water bottle craze. What a life?
- 23:21Did you mention the football game I mentioned? Did you just talk about
- 23:25I didn't talk about the NFL? Okay, because the NFL, the season's
- 23:27over, the Viking season is done. The Packers do have another game next
- 23:32weekend, and it's called the playoffs. Gosh, I was rooting for the
- 23:34Bears so hard yesterday, along with probably everybody listening right now besides a couple
- 23:40of yeah that was me. Listen. I don't want to get too into
- 23:42it. This isn't an NFL program. It's nauseating, but I'm just excited.
- 23:47I'm just happy for the team, happy for the fans, the owners,
- 23:49which is me and my wife, by the way, Hey, by
- 23:52the way, is what the Packers all season And now you're like, oh,
- 23:55well, you know what the joy brings, the joy, the satisfaction
- 23:57of you know, like they say, like, oh we kept the receipts.
- 24:00A lot of people hate and doubting. And for those people thinking right
- 24:03now, it's just football, pike, it's stupid. It makes me happy.
- 24:07That's all that matters. You have things in your life that make you
- 24:10happy, and I'm glad I enjoy this and I'm enjoying it now mostly Claudia
- 24:15today, high of twenty. Looking ahead of your forecast. By Wednesday,
- 24:18we actually could get a little bit of snow, maybe one to three inches.
- 24:21You know, now that I'm looking at an airplane window, I think
- 24:22you probably could suck Amman through that pike it a minu in the morning on
- 24:29Big nuety eight point seven. We had a great weekend. We did a
- 24:30lot of things in two days. But our kids are in that age where
- 24:36we want to keep them active because we just don't want to keep them home
- 24:37all the time because in the time of the year, yeah, there's just
- 24:40not a lot to do. So one of the things we decided to finally
- 24:42take our kids to a movie. Have not done this yet? Oh fun.
- 24:47Yes, we were going to do trolls. That was kind of my
- 24:48thing, but the holidays kind of got away from us. Did you go
- 24:52to West Acres or a Century ten? We went to Century ten or it's
- 24:56the Dollar Theater more, it's not the Fari is not a thing, right,
- 25:00you know, I'm honestly not sure if somebody knows been to the movie
- 25:03since Fifty Shades of Gray and boy has kicked you off? Okay, my
- 25:14life has changed, all right, a lot of things. I want to
- 25:15stay ragmatically. Yeah. So yeah, my girlfriend and I decided to take
- 25:19our kids, so there were five kids to adults, and we went over
- 25:22to see the movie Migration. What is that? Percute movie? It's about
- 25:26a bunch of Mallards who are migrating. They want to make their way to
- 25:30Jamaica. Misleading title migration. Oh a lot of immigration. Yeah, they
- 25:36were trying to immigration. It seems like a heavy subject, but okay,
- 25:41that's what it was. It was really really cute anyway. First of all,
- 25:45this is how it started. I'll get to the embarrassing thing my son
- 25:48did here in a second. But my girlfriend text me She's like, hey,
- 25:52are you bringing blankets? I'm like, like, for it because it's
- 25:55cold outside for my kids in their car seats. What are you talking about
- 25:57an emergency? No, we have a couple in our car, and she
- 26:02goes, no, for the movie, you bring blankets to the movie.
- 26:07This is again, I haven't been to a theater since Fifty Shades of Gray,
- 26:11and I hadn't been since they had dream loungers. I had no idea.
- 26:15So first of all, yes, dream what dream loungers? So it's
- 26:18been a while for me to explain those to me. So you go to
- 26:21the movie, and it's not just the stadium seating that we're used to where
- 26:23you're like, my back, Kurt, you're trying to get company of that.
- 26:27No dream loungers, You lay back. You might as well just take
- 26:30a little snooze, which is why people are bringing blankets. I mean people
- 26:33are just hauling stuff in like they're doing a sleepover. Really mind blowing to
- 26:38me. But the setup was great because when you have little kids, they're
- 26:41kind of walking around doing their thing. You're not really interrupting anybody except for
- 26:47when your son as soon as the movie starts. Now, remember his dad
- 26:51is a big hunter, like duck hunter, stare hunting, yep, all
- 26:53of that. The movie comes on, and I don't think he really understood
- 26:56because he's three, what the movie was gonna be about. He had,
- 27:00you know, seen the previous for it, but wasn't quite sure that there
- 27:03was gonna be a bunch of ducks for that's what I'm saying, the word
- 27:06migration for a kid's movie. It's like, did they know that they heard
- 27:10that word before? Right? Anyway, they learned all about it. So
- 27:12he stands up on his dream lounger and he goes, oh, no,
- 27:18no, no. So he's like, think of old school duck hunter in
- 27:25a theater on the theater, but again it's not like the stadium seating.
- 27:27So hopefully he didn't disrupt anybody. And I'm like, okay, chill,
- 27:30honey, you're gonna have to sit here. So I passed the popcorn to
- 27:33distract him for a little. They got a little antsy, but anyway,
- 27:37Yeah, he's hilarious. That's a good lesson for the kiddo. Any sort
- 27:41of gun imagery, my gosh, I didn't even think about that. You
- 27:45didn't know if somebody stands up in a movie theater and starts pretending to I'm
- 27:49gonna panic, I'm gonna get a little uneasy. Oh my god, seeing
- 27:55in my head, all I'm thinking of is just him being a cute little
- 27:59three year old boy. And that's what it was. Of course. Gosh,
- 28:00no, it didn't even dawn on unfortunate it was like a terrorist situation.
- 28:04Jeez, I trust that it wasn't. No. But anyway, it
- 28:10was adorable. Oh man, But they enjoyed it. Did they stay awake
- 28:12the whole movie? They did? Yeah, they got a long nap beforehand.
- 28:15Like I said, they started getting a little antsy. But and then
- 28:18it's so loud. Can you turn the volume down? I'm like, oh,
- 28:22poor kiddo, you can't do that. That's it. I mean,
- 28:23that's the one thing I was just thinking about this weekend, the one reason
- 28:26I'd go back to a movie. It's like, obviously the big screen,
- 28:29but everybody has big TV's now. Yeah, it's the sound, the audio
- 28:33experience in a movie theater. It's like none other. For me. It's
- 28:36all about the dream lounger I gets, bring up blanky, Now, I
- 28:40do have some unfortunate news to break here. I got a message from Doug
- 28:42who said, in regards to Safari Theater, I was asking if it was
- 28:45still open. Yeah it is not, he said, it's closed. It
- 28:48has been for some time, I guess, and it's now at church.
- 28:52Oh. By the way, I do realize why everybody goes on Tuesdays now?
- 28:56Why it's not cheap going to the theater? Oh no, did you
- 29:00get popcorn? Huh? Candy mm hmmm, soda mm hmm. Jeez?
- 29:07And movie tickets in the dream lounders on the ultra screen. What's your side?
- 29:11Hustle? Like get Amanda in the morning, get up on Big seven.
- 29:18You lied to your kids, deep admit it. As much you lied
- 29:19to your kids about certain things right here and there. A lot of it
- 29:22has to do with the park, the hours of the park. I love
- 29:26that certain things like that were Like yesterday, Nick, just because the kids
- 29:30have been wanting to go ice skating because we lived behind a pond and they
- 29:33had never or in an ice drink and they'd never really been excited about it.
- 29:37And yesterday, for some reason, like we want to go buy ice
- 29:41skates, let's go do this. Well, we know your kids three.
- 29:45Yeah, he's saying, I want to go ice skating three and four,
- 29:48and that's like all up, they're super excited about it. I could very
- 29:52easily go get the ice skates and go do this, but I also just
- 29:56know the reality of it. We're gonna buy them, they're gonna try it
- 29:57once, they're gonna be cold, they're not gonna want to ice skate because
- 30:00they're still young, and it's just gonna be a whole debacle by the time
- 30:04we get over there never gonna be used. Like the pair that is in
- 30:07our garage right now that probably should sell and it was just a waste of
- 30:11money. Like they're just are they never gonna use amain or are they gonna
- 30:14go on to fall deeply in love with the sport and become Olympic athletes?
- 30:18Yeah? Definitely she are you? I mean, how do you be doing
- 30:21triple sal cows by March? Yes, she's not gonna sew cow? How
- 30:25do I know? And maybe, but I just know that they're young enough
- 30:27right now where it's just, you know, they're my kids. I kind
- 30:30of just know, so you're lying. My daughter is now a human lie
- 30:33detector test. Her new thing is is every time I say anything, she's
- 30:37like you're lying, like I'm actually not lying. So that's her new thing.
- 30:41Mom, you're lying. Did you bust you want? And now she
- 30:44just thinks everything's a liear on No. So through like holiday break, she
- 30:48just kept wanting to go to the park. And we went to our park
- 30:52when it was a little warmer. I was gonna say, holiday break,
- 30:56Yeah, we're talking about going to the park, are we nuts? She
- 30:57wanted to go to the indoor park and I'm like, it's closed because of
- 31:03holiday break? Holidays? Yeah, because of the holidays it was. And
- 31:07I'm just thinking, you know, everybody's sick, Like, you're good,
- 31:10We'll just we'll just build a ford at home, you know, we don't
- 31:11need to take you there. She's like, Mom, you're lying to me.
- 31:15I'm like, she's got the Google hours pulled up on her phone.
- 31:18Yeah, I mean, what are you saying? It says they're open till
- 31:19eight legitimately, Like this is how I'm sorry to feel. You're not far
- 31:25from that. I'm looking at her kind of like, does she know?
- 31:29Are you just like saying, Mom, you're lying? Where are we at
- 31:32here? She knows, you know, she knows you're lying your kids and
- 31:34you're doing significant damage, Amanda. According to some information I've discovered here from
- 31:40the social learning theory, now, they do say seventy eight percent of American
- 31:44parents admit to lying to their children. Seventy eight percent. And let's I
- 31:48mean, my daughter also calls me out if I says so, she's like,
- 31:51you're lying. Oh, she knows you're bad. You're a bad liar.
- 31:55I've always known you're lying. Now an interesting tidbit in the study,
- 31:59one hundred percent of Chinese parents admitted to lying to their children. You don't
- 32:02see that often in the study, every single one of them over in China
- 32:07admits that they lie. In the US, what did you say about lying?
- 32:12Exactly exactly. But they say though that there are things you can do
- 32:15to sort of get around lying. Like they say, it's the number of
- 32:19lies that matters. Like basically, they'll allow you the occasional life. You
- 32:23gotta pick your spots. It's like an exclamation mark in English, you only
- 32:28get one. Yeah, because in turn, we're teaching our kids not to
- 32:31lie and how bad it is. Right, And that's what they say too.
- 32:35Because kids obviously are learning from their parents, they are gonna mimic them.
- 32:38They're gonna imitate them. So if you're lying, you're setting yourself up
- 32:42for failure because now down the road you kids are gonna be lying to you
- 32:45about what they're doing, so you got to be honest. Also, they
- 32:47say consider alternatives to lying, Amanda. So for example, let's say your
- 32:52daughter Sidney is learning to play the violin and she's terrible. You don't need
- 32:55a straight up say to her, oh my gosh, you play so beautifully,
- 32:59Sydney. Wow, what a wonder violinists. What a wonderful violinist.
- 33:01But instead try being just more straightforward and supportive, say oh, you're learning
- 33:07and it takes time. Then later on you can follow up with the hey,
- 33:09sid I noticed you're improving totally. Yeah we have affirmation or bringing it
- 33:15up. I'm not gonna be like, yeah little pitchy sid Yeah, you're
- 33:17not gonna be rude. That's got to be awkward. And I don't have
- 33:20kids. I was a kid once, But for parents and kids who are
- 33:22in activities and they're just not good. Not every kid is good at everything,
- 33:27I always give them an opportunity to try and do different things. That's
- 33:30gotta be tough. Though. I always felt for the kids who, like,
- 33:32you know, in high school sports, like they're on the team but
- 33:36they're definitely not playing and for the parents to show up and have to support
- 33:38and which is great. But I just I'm because you were just such an
- 33:43all star parents, I'm saying, so trust me. I told my dad
- 33:46after a couple of weeks of football, I'm like, Dad, you don't
- 33:50need to come. You know, you just knew you don't need to come
- 33:52watch my backside stand on the sideline or occasionally get in the game and proceed
- 33:55to get absolutely blown up by a guy twice myself. I don't think so
- 34:01truly, told him. Don't like, I'll save this for the Matt in
- 34:06the morning, big nutty eight points seven getting back with the next You've all
- 34:13done it. We've all done it, I think, right. I mean,
- 34:15every good breakup, you gotta at least get back together once, Like
- 34:19Jerry Seinfeld once said, famous comedian Aman anyways know Joe Cooy, Yeah,
- 34:23but it's pretty famous. He said. It's like pushing over a ending machine.
- 34:27You can't just push it over in one big push. You gotta kind
- 34:30of rock back and forth before it tips over. Like a breakup. Well,
- 34:32is it okay to get back with the next They say there are instances.
- 34:36These are relationship experts on when's it okay and worth it to get back
- 34:40with your X. For example, your priorities were off balance first time you
- 34:45had your go around. You had these different wants, these different needs,
- 34:47and eventually we all figure it out, we all figure ourselves out what it
- 34:52is we want in life. And if at the time it wasn't what you
- 34:54wanted, I mean, is totally everything because there is especially if you let's
- 35:00just go old school, like you had a high school sweetheart, or you
- 35:01went to college and you're like, oh, okay, somebody decided I still
- 35:05want to be young and fun. Will somebody's ready to hunker down and have
- 35:07kids, you know, and maybe you meet again later in life. I
- 35:09get that. Yeah, well, they do say the number one reason to
- 35:13get back together the ax your timing was off. Like you just said,
- 35:15Amanda, Obviously it's cliche, but timing is everything. You're maybe grinding,
- 35:20like in your career, if you're early on trying to get to a certain
- 35:22point and that's your focus, and relationships just aren't going to be your thing
- 35:25at that time. Well, then down the road once you've settled in,
- 35:28it's like, all right, now I got time. Now I got time
- 35:29to give somebody every bit of me. I'm such a deep man. You
- 35:35underestimated how emotionally sound. Okay, no, it is so true. So
- 35:40if your timing was off, it's okay to get back together with your ex.
- 35:44But then again, believe it or not, there's bad things about getting
- 35:46back together with an X. Would you agree? Yeah, cause I think
- 35:49sometimes people I've been in that situation where you're in a toxic relationship and you
- 35:54are getting back together because it's your comfort, or you're like I don't know
- 35:58any better, or you feel like you need each other. It's like no,
- 36:01no, it's like anything. When it's gone. All you remember emotionally
- 36:07is the good stuff. You know, as soon as you break up with
- 36:09somebody, all you can think about is like, oh, we did have
- 36:12some good times together, or oh you know this, I remember this,
- 36:15and like you said, it's comfortable. And then as soon as you get
- 36:16back together, it's almost the media. You're like, oh, yeah,
- 36:20forgot about all that, dad, So yeah, he snores, that's right.
- 36:23So you ever get back together with an X? Yeah? I did.
- 36:27There I think there was a time where it was like, Okay,
- 36:30it's it was a mistake, it was this, it was that, and
- 36:32it's like your timing was off that mainly because it was comfort for sure.
- 36:37Yeah, and here you are with the love of your life. Yeah,
- 36:39my husband. It's funny you say that, he's one of those you break
- 36:43up it's just done kind of thing. Is that right? Somebody told you
- 36:45that round. No, we've just had you know. It is like when
- 36:49you're married to somebody, you have like conversations or you have other people in
- 36:52your life and you watch them. He's like, I just don't know if
- 36:55it would ever work out if you ever crossed, if once you lose the
- 36:59trust, if you ever go through that. He's like, I just don't
- 37:01think there would be a time to come back for that. Well, that's
- 37:04really easy to say, yeah, which is interesting why I swore I was
- 37:08never going to golf with your husband again, But here we are. It
- 37:12happens. Takeing Amanda in the morning. Seven. The holiday seasons weren't great
- 37:16for everybody. It's soliday season, the holidays, the whooped, he whooped.
- 37:22This lady especially had a pretty tough go of it during the holidays.
- 37:24Let me start by telling you about Miracle Rivera. That's her name, Miracle,
- 37:30Miracle all right, She's twenty years old and on Christmas Eve she got
- 37:34into a fight with her boyfriend because she has a hunch, Amanda, that
- 37:37he might be adulterating a little horsing around. And we know where this information
- 37:45is coming from. Did she see some text messages or anything like that.
- 37:49I don't have the exact evidence she has got. For all I know,
- 37:52it might just be a gut feeling. It might just she might just have
- 37:54issues to trust issues going back to childhood. Who never know, who knows
- 37:59that said Christmas, they got into it. It got bad, okay,
- 38:00And so she Miracle decided to cross the line between from verbal argument to now
- 38:06physical and she grabbed the nearest weapon she could find, which on Christmas Eve,
- 38:10Amanda was the Christmas tree. And she whacky picked up the Now,
- 38:17we have a pretty tall Christmas tree. I know you have just a one
- 38:21that sits on your countertop, right, are we going in between it?
- 38:22Even then like grabbing a Christmas tree? Well, from the sounds of it,
- 38:27it was a real one because it left her boyfriend with very serious scratches
- 38:31over his upper body and arms. We'll s fake one still here a little
- 38:34prickly and ornaments and all. What if they were shattered? That's just it.
- 38:38And so no criminal charges were filed. But fast forward one week later
- 38:42to another holiday, New Year's Eve, drinks flowing about to ring in twenty
- 38:45twenty four. Wait, they made it past the Christmas tree incident. Oh
- 38:50yeah, he was able to look past that. Oh he knows she didn't
- 38:52mean it. That's a miracle in itself. So yeah, well, hey,
- 38:54now New Year's Eve, she starts to suspect yet again that her boyfriend
- 38:59is being adult what's the word unfaithful and so an adulter. This time she
