- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios. Hey,
- 0:07Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to Carl in New Jersey. Carl,
- 0:12Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, thanks for taking my call. Hold it down.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Hold it down. People are sleeping here.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Okay, sorry. What people seem to be talking about here
- 0:23Speaker 2: in New Jersey is Cory Booker is on the ballot.
- 0:26Speaker 2: He's a senator. It's a six-year term. He's running against
- 0:29Speaker 2: a guy named Justin Murphy. And he's a nobody, and
- 0:33Speaker 2: he's a long shot. But this is a chance to
- 0:35Speaker 2: really shake the Democratic cage at the top. And nobody
- 0:38Speaker 2: seems to be covering it.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I know, but let's be honest. You people in New Jersey,
- 0:44Speaker 1: nothing personal, but you people in New Jersey vote in
- 0:46Speaker 1: the worst people as governors, as senators.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I'm a mom of county and we went red, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: you are not wrong. You are not wrong.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You vote in some wacky governors and that Cory Booker
- 0:58Speaker 1: is like, as they call him, the dollar store Obama.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Dollar store Obama. He's going to run for president again.
- 1:06Speaker 2: And if he's in the next cycle, he's going to
- 1:08Speaker 2: continue to throw New Jersey under the bus to gain
- 1:10Speaker 2: favor with his party.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And he runs for president every time. Nobody knows, but
- 1:15Speaker 1: he runs for president every time. Let's go to Larry
- 1:18Speaker 1: in Cranford, New Jersey. Larry, how you doing?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Hey, Mark.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Hi. So what has Kathy Holcomb been doing all this time?
- 1:25Speaker 3: She's going to lower prices?
- 1:27Speaker 2: When? The day after Election Day?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's a fascinating phenomenon. Democrats have had total
- 1:34Speaker 1: control in New York for 15 years. Democrats controlled City Hall,
- 1:39Speaker 1: the legislature, the governor's mansion, every inch of New York
- 1:44Speaker 1: governed by Democrats, 15 years. Now they tell you there's
- 1:47Speaker 1: a crime problem. Oh, there's an affordability crisis.
- 1:49Speaker 3: There's this.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Electric bills are too high. Well, if this is the case,
- 1:53Speaker 1: it's all your fault. They should throw you out. It's
- 1:56Speaker 1: the most unbelievable chutzpah ever. Let's go to Diane in Connecticut. Diane,
- 2:02Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 2:04Speaker 4: I'm doing pretty good. I wanted to speak about James Carville.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I was watching him on a show last week. And
- 2:14Speaker 4: he was ranting and raving about how much he hates Trump.
- 2:19Speaker 4: He said, I hate him. I can't sleep at night
- 2:23Speaker 4: because of him. I can't eat. I'm losing weight. I
- 2:28Speaker 4: can't have any fun or whatever. I never saw such craziness.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I know. They're like little children. They're like crazy little whining, pouty,
- 2:37Speaker 1: pouty children. Like they won't go to bed unless.
- 2:39Speaker 4: You give them this. He should know better.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I know. It's crazy. Listen, I didn't like Kamala Harris,
- 2:46Speaker 1: but it didn't keep me up at night. I wasn't
- 2:48Speaker 1: losing any sleep over it. I wasn't foaming at the mouth.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I hated that Joe Biden is president. But I didn't
- 2:56Speaker 1: run around screaming about it all day. I didn't go
- 2:59Speaker 1: out in the street with a no kings or, in
- 3:01Speaker 1: his case, no zombies sign. They're just nuts. But they're
- 3:06Speaker 1: like children. It's just childish ranting and raving. Let's go
- 3:09Speaker 1: to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Good morning mark mark i woke a he's speaking about
- 3:15Speaker 3: album break downgrading charges and the black community in hispanic
- 3:20Speaker 3: community should be incensed in fact today at the arraignment
- 3:25Speaker 3: of that dirty cop who shot the guy on the
- 3:27Speaker 3: bridge Alvin Bragg only charged him with manslaughter. That guy
- 3:33Speaker 3: should have been charged with murder too, reckless endangerment, reckless
- 3:38Speaker 3: discharging of a firearm, which Internal Affairs, before the guy retired,
- 3:45Speaker 3: after only seven years, they brought him up on a
- 3:49Speaker 3: reckless endangerment for discharging his firearm.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Vincent, you seem very familiar with the charging system here
- 3:56Speaker 1: in New York.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually am very familiar. There's no way that
- 4:00Speaker 3: that cop should have been charged on the onset with manslaughter.
- 4:05Speaker 3: And here's the reason why. Usually during the course of
- 4:08Speaker 3: a trial, depending on which way the trial's going, either
- 4:13Speaker 3: the DA or the defense attorney will say, hey, I'll
- 4:18Speaker 3: cop out to this. I'll plead out to that. You
- 4:20Speaker 3: don't start low so you could go lower. You start,
- 4:24Speaker 3: you charge them high, and then you work the charges down.
- 4:28Speaker 3: This cop could be out in three years. And knowing that,
- 4:33Speaker 3: the family is... planning a protest outside of Central Booking
- 4:37Speaker 3: in Manhattan today. That's mob stuff with this cop.
- 4:41Speaker 1: But you would think a left-wing kook like Alvin Bragg
- 4:44Speaker 1: would overcharge a cop. You think he would hate cops?
- 4:46Speaker 3: Well, I guess he's trying to curry favor with the
- 4:50Speaker 3: police union and detectives union. But this guy is no
- 4:55Speaker 3: altar boy. He retired after seven years. That tells you
- 5:00Speaker 3: a lot because Internal Affairs probably told him, hey, We're
- 5:04Speaker 3: going to bring this case against you to court. Either
- 5:07Speaker 3: you quit now or we're going to court with this,
- 5:10Speaker 3: because why would the guy retire after seven years? And
- 5:15Speaker 3: this came out last week on W.O.Y. and other channels
- 5:20Speaker 3: that report the real news, not F.P.R. and those garbage stations.
- 5:25Speaker 3: All right.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Well, Alvin Bragg, the worst district attorney in America. If
- 5:29Speaker 1: you get a new governor. He can remove Alvin Bragg.
- 5:32Speaker 3: That would be great. Well, let's hope it happens, Mark.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, go out and vote. Vincent, thanks for calling. Go
- 5:38Speaker 1: out and vote. Do the early voting. You can do
- 5:41Speaker 1: it this week. Hey, when we come back, the brilliant
- 5:44Speaker 1: columnist Liz Peek, we'll talk to her next on 710WOR.
