- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on sevent WR.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Well, everybody probably a home today. It's a remote day
- 0:11Speaker 2: for most people that work. If you're a student in
- 0:13Speaker 2: New York City, it's remote. They use that what do
- 0:16Speaker 2: they call that Google classroom. The mayor says it should work.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's not a good thing. It just closed the schools
- 0:23Speaker 2: for the day. But as he explained, they can't close
- 0:27Speaker 2: for the day.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Is this that we're going to exhaust every option to protect?
- 0:30Speaker 2: No, No, that's not it. Where there's a some kind
- 0:33Speaker 2: of state law. I remember it as a.
- 0:34Speaker 1: New York City publicol students sitting there watching TV hoping
- 0:38Speaker 1: to see my school's name. The sad truth is being
- 0:43Speaker 1: governed by state law which requires one hundred and eighty
- 0:45Speaker 1: days of instruction. And there's no room anymore in these
- 0:49Speaker 1: calendars with all of your holidays have been added the
- 0:51Speaker 1: first now day, so Monday is going to be remote.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's the reason there's a state law. You
- 0:56Speaker 2: can thank the legislature requiring one hundred and eighty days,
- 0:59Speaker 2: so they can't close. They have to have a remote day.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Which it's interesting. At private schools, I don't think there's
- 1:07Speaker 2: subject good. Many of them are just closed, no remote
- 1:09Speaker 2: day today, so we slowly start to dig out. Actually,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you got to give mom Donnie credit. It was pretty
- 1:15Speaker 2: good the response. But again he's got leftover from the
- 1:20Speaker 2: Adams administration. The emergency management people, the people that do
- 1:24Speaker 2: all this response are left over. The emergency response director,
- 1:29Speaker 2: emergency management head is leaving in a week, but his
- 1:33Speaker 2: deputy will take over, and he says, don't worry. His
- 1:36Speaker 2: deputy is perfectly qualified and be very good at this.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So we'll see. This probably be the last big snowstorm.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't want to jinx it, but they usually get
- 1:43Speaker 2: one of these a year. And you know, this one's
- 1:45Speaker 2: actually not as bad as five years ago. We had
- 1:47Speaker 2: a big one. It was like in this was ten inches,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and see we had a big one was like seventeen
- 1:53Speaker 2: inches in the city. But it was during the towards
- 1:57Speaker 2: the end of the pandemic. Most people were still remote anyway.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So Washington got hit hard with the snowstorm. But they
- 2:06Speaker 2: went ahead with the premiere of the Milania film. There's
- 2:10Speaker 2: a big, big documentary on Milania Amazon. It'll be in
- 2:15Speaker 2: theaters and then it'll stream on Amazon. They had the
- 2:18Speaker 2: big movie premiere. Normally in that kind of snowstorm. The
- 2:21Speaker 2: President would get the hell out of there and be
- 2:23Speaker 2: at mar A Lago for the weekend, but he stayed
- 2:25Speaker 2: because of the premiere and it was Saturday night, big
- 2:28Speaker 2: dinner at the White House, the Kennedy Center, the whole thing,
- 2:30Speaker 2: and a lot of people came. Everybody loved it. It's
- 2:34Speaker 2: a great film. But it starts in theaters now. Most
- 2:39Speaker 2: people will wait, probably go see when it's streaming, so
- 2:42Speaker 2: that's opening very soon. Wall Street Journal really brutal on
- 2:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump. The Wall Street Journal has not been on
- 2:51Speaker 2: a Trump friendly paper for a while. The Wall Street
- 2:54Speaker 2: Journal not good to the president, but really bad, hitting
- 2:58Speaker 2: him very hard over the weekend for the shooting in Minnesota,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and a lot of people say, you can argue that
- 3:08Speaker 2: the shooting was justified. It's the case of Rene Good.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Definitely justified. Again, if he talked to the best law
- 3:15Speaker 2: enforcement people in the world, they'll say, you know, probably
- 3:18Speaker 2: shouldn't have shot. He's legally justified, and he can, but
- 3:21Speaker 2: he probably should have let that go. If you want,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you catch her stopp her car a block away or something.
- 3:27Speaker 2: But this one yesterday's a real borderline, and we can't
- 3:30Speaker 2: see exactly why they fired. He did have something in
- 3:35Speaker 2: his hand. It turns out it was the cell phone.
- 3:36Speaker 2: But he was armed. And if you're going to confront police,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't know why you'd bring a weapon with you.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And I don't know why you'd bring extra magazines. You know,
- 3:46Speaker 2: I know people would carry guns, but extra magazines. I mean,
- 3:50Speaker 2: cops have to do that because god knows what they'll
- 3:52Speaker 2: end up in a gunfight or something. But a citizen
- 3:57Speaker 2: also at that point, he's harassing the Ice agents, and
- 4:00Speaker 2: then as they're trying to detain him, he's resisting. So
- 4:02Speaker 2: he's resisting arrest. He's committing a crime. And even though
- 4:05Speaker 2: you're legally licensed to carry a gun, you can't carry
- 4:09Speaker 2: a gun when you're committing a crime. That's a whole
- 4:10Speaker 2: different set of charges. So this will be investigated. Now,
- 4:15Speaker 2: the Wall Street Journal going after him, James Comer coming
- 4:18Speaker 2: out and going after this. So some people saying he
- 4:22Speaker 2: is losing the narrative on this. You can argue the
- 4:24Speaker 2: facts of the case and that it's not wrong, but
- 4:28Speaker 2: he's losing the narrative and that's the problem. So President
- 4:31Speaker 2: Trump responding by sending Tom Holman to Minnesota. He's on
- 4:35Speaker 2: his way there. He'll be there this afternoon talk to officials.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He's also probably going to sideline Christy Nomes. She's already
- 4:42Speaker 2: been taken out of the loop on this, he announced
- 4:45Speaker 2: last night. Here's his actual words. Holman will report directly
- 4:49Speaker 2: to me now and help lead the immigration Customs enforcement
- 4:53Speaker 2: operations in Minneapolis, taking Christy Nome out of the picture.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I'm sending Tom Holman to minnesot tonight. He's not been
- 5:02Speaker 2: involved in that area, but he knows and likes many
- 5:04Speaker 2: of the people there. Tom is tough, but fair and
- 5:08Speaker 2: will report directly to me. The President also saying separately,
- 5:13Speaker 2: a major investigation is going on with respect to the
- 5:17Speaker 2: massive twenty billion dollar plus welfare fraud that took place
- 5:21Speaker 2: in Minnesota. And he believes a lot of people believe
- 5:26Speaker 2: that's one reason they're gitting up these protests and this
- 5:29Speaker 2: violence to distract from that huge twenty billion dollar fraud.
- 5:34Speaker 2: But the President saying, the investigation is ongoing, and actually
- 5:38Speaker 2: your Democrats there, it's also distracting from the investigation, which
- 5:43Speaker 2: means I'll be able to get more done under the radar. Additionally,
- 5:47Speaker 2: the President says the Department of Justice and Congress are
- 5:50Speaker 2: looking at Congresswoman elon Omar, who was broke when she
- 5:55Speaker 2: took office and is now worth more than forty four
- 5:57Speaker 2: million dollars. They'll figure out how that happened. So it's
- 6:02Speaker 2: a it's a bad situation in Minnesota. They've got to
- 6:05Speaker 2: clean this up. It's it's it's uh uh try it's
- 6:09Speaker 2: the Democrats are going to use this. This will be
- 6:11Speaker 2: the number one issue forget affordability, and they're throwing that
- 6:14Speaker 2: out there will just be this in the mid terms.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Now they're talking about defunding ICE, and they're talking about
- 6:22Speaker 2: doing that as fast as possible. Now, the problem is
- 6:25Speaker 2: ICE is part of the Department of Homeland Security. I
- 6:28Speaker 2: don't know how you could just defund ICE. You'd have
- 6:30Speaker 2: to defund the Department of Homeland Security. But that's a
- 6:34Speaker 2: problem because that also includes a TSA, that also includes
- 6:38Speaker 2: all kinds of things. You can't just defund that. So
- 6:41Speaker 2: Democrats will have a problem. But they'll yell and scream
- 6:44Speaker 2: about that. They'll they'll threaten a shutdown over over this
- 6:48Speaker 2: and try to defund it. Then you got all these
- 6:51Speaker 2: crazy Minnesota Democrats trying to rile things up. You got
- 6:56Speaker 2: the mayor. If anybody's to blame for this. It's the
- 6:59Speaker 2: mayor and the governor for literally telling these people, these
- 7:02Speaker 2: organized protesters, telling them to go physically confront ice, get
- 7:07Speaker 2: in their face. Here's the mayor of Minneapolis.
- 7:10Speaker 3: More than six masked agents pummeling one of our constituents
- 7:18Speaker 3: and shooting him to death. How many more residents? How
- 7:23Speaker 3: many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt
- 7:27Speaker 3: for this operation to end?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Well, it's a good question. But it's like January sixth,
- 7:32Speaker 2: where they kept yelling at the president. Same thing to
- 7:34Speaker 2: you go on TV, tell them to stop, tell them
- 7:38Speaker 2: to go home, tell them to protest peacefully, tell them
- 7:41Speaker 2: to stay across the street, don't go physically confront ice.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But Fry is been trying to fuel this like crazy.
- 7:48Speaker 3: How many more lives need to be lost before this
- 7:52Speaker 3: administration realizes that?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Well, it's a good question. So why don't you tell
- 7:57Speaker 2: the protests stop physically confronting and getting in the face
- 8:00Speaker 2: the law enforcement jumping. It's one thing to protest, but
- 8:03Speaker 2: to actually jump in there and physically try to interfere
- 8:05Speaker 2: with them, not to send this as Waltz, This federal
- 8:08Speaker 2: occupation of Minnesota long ago, stop being a matter of
- 8:11Speaker 2: Immigration Enforcement. It's a campaign of organized brutality against the
- 8:15Speaker 2: people of our state. But again he's just trying to
- 8:18Speaker 2: rile people up. You know a couple of things, one
- 8:22Speaker 2: the language, telling people to go confront them, telling people
- 8:26Speaker 2: to physically go after ICE, but also totally withdrawing police,
- 8:30Speaker 2: National Guard, all of that. If you had sent the
- 8:33Speaker 2: police in to control the protesters like they do anywhere else,
- 8:37Speaker 2: you keep them behind barricades, you keep them separate from
- 8:39Speaker 2: the ICE office, physically separate. They may yell and scream,
- 8:42Speaker 2: but it's that separation that saves their lives. They've refused
- 8:46Speaker 2: to do that. Now, you got two thousand ICE agents
- 8:48Speaker 2: in Minneapolis, and believe it or not, Minneapolis only has
- 8:52Speaker 2: six hundred cops. So but again, the governor could send him,
- 8:56Speaker 2: the National Guard, all of that stuff just to control
- 8:58Speaker 2: the protests, keep them physically separate from EIST, and you
- 9:02Speaker 2: would not have had any of these problems at all. So,
- 9:07Speaker 2: by the way, articles of impeachment have been filed against
- 9:10Speaker 2: Tim Waltz, governor of Minnesota from a Republican state representative.
- 9:15Speaker 2: But he's got a good case. It looks like a
- 9:17Speaker 2: twenty billion got stolen for that daycare fraud scheme with
- 9:23Speaker 2: the Attorney General of Minnesota either looking the other way
- 9:26Speaker 2: or being so incompetent he didn't see it. And it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: the same thing with the governor. Either he looked the
- 9:31Speaker 2: other way deliberately, or he was part of this twenty
- 9:34Speaker 2: billion dollar fraud, or he's just totally incompetent and didn't
- 9:38Speaker 2: know what was going on. They're going to start looking
- 9:41Speaker 2: at all of this, examining it, and it looks like
- 9:44Speaker 2: there was no control of the money being given out
- 9:47Speaker 2: to these fake daycare centers. It looks like there was
- 9:50Speaker 2: no accounting in any way. It looks like they did nothing,
- 9:55Speaker 2: nothing to check to see if anything any of these
- 9:57Speaker 2: organizations were real. They just handed out the money. Many
- 10:00Speaker 2: people suspect a lot of Democrats benefited, maybe public officials,
- 10:06Speaker 2: maybe people. Or they also think a lot of the
- 10:09Speaker 2: money got a good percentage got kicked back into donations
- 10:13Speaker 2: into campaigns. So that investigation going on, and the impeachment
- 10:19Speaker 2: has been filed against Waltz. We'll see if that goes anywhere. Hey,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I remembers tell you about Davos. The Davos is a
- 10:26Speaker 2: you know that conference where you see like literally two
- 10:29Speaker 2: hundred and fifty private jets on the runways. It's not
- 10:32Speaker 2: a fancy place, Davos, and it's kind of a dump.
- 10:34Speaker 2: The hotels are jumpy, but they got a lot of
- 10:36Speaker 2: beautiful chalets around there, and these zillionaires rent all those
- 10:41Speaker 2: chalets and that's where they stayed. But apparently, and I
- 10:44Speaker 2: also told you, remember this is like the biggest thing
- 10:47Speaker 2: of the year for prostitutes in Europe. Sex workers. It's
- 10:50Speaker 2: like they're Super Bowl Davos. Well here, now that it's over,
- 10:54Speaker 2: we're getting actual statistics. Apparently the demand for prostitutes in Davos,
- 10:59Speaker 2: scott I rocketed this year. It was unbelievable. The requests
- 11:03Speaker 2: were up four thousand percent in Davos this year. Particularly
- 11:07Speaker 2: high number of users were from the US, Russia, Ukraine. Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 2: these Ukrainians, they made a lot of money off this war,
- 11:15Speaker 2: spending it like crazy. They don't want to go into details.
- 11:19Speaker 2: There's you know, these sex worker services. But they said
- 11:24Speaker 2: not only was it up four thousand percent, but there
- 11:26Speaker 2: was one client who allegedly spent one hundred and twenty
- 11:30Speaker 2: thousand dollars. He wanted five women at once for four days.
- 11:35Speaker 2: The bill was one hundred and twenty thousand, but he's
- 11:38Speaker 2: a billionaire, so it's absolutely nothing for him. You know
- 11:44Speaker 2: your electric rates are going crazy in New York City, Well,
- 11:49Speaker 2: believe it or not, On Thursday, the Public Service Commission
- 11:51Speaker 2: approved Kanid's request for a rate hike. That'll be about
- 11:58Speaker 2: six hundred and fifteen dollars per year more, maybe sixty
- 12:01Speaker 2: dollars a month more for gas and electricity a rate hike.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Bureaucrats are insisting that law, not politics, is driving the
- 12:10Speaker 2: cost increases. You can blame a lot of people. You
- 12:12Speaker 2: can blame Andrew Cuomo for your out of control electric bills.
- 12:16Speaker 2: He shut down our nuclear power plant Indian Point, which
- 12:19Speaker 2: was a big mistake. It was twenty five percent of
- 12:22Speaker 2: our electricity. Nuclear power is the safest, cheapest, easiest, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: Cuomo shut it down. Everybody at the time told him
- 12:32Speaker 2: it's going to drive electric bills way up, and it did. It,
- 12:37Speaker 2: absolutely did. You gotta remember Democrats are not really the
- 12:39Speaker 2: party of affordability because they'll do things like this, shut
- 12:43Speaker 2: down the nuclear plant, not drill for natural gas, not
- 12:47Speaker 2: allow fracking. This drives your electric bill through the roof. Now.
- 12:52Speaker 2: The other thing is, believe it or not, this green
- 12:55Speaker 2: stuff like wind windmills, wind power. It's very expensive per
- 13:00Speaker 2: kilowatt hour to pay for that electricity. It's like four
- 13:03Speaker 2: times as much as fossil fuel. So all this stuff
- 13:07Speaker 2: has caused a huge increase in your electric bills in
- 13:11Speaker 2: Public Service Commission just approved another increase. So you got
- 13:15Speaker 2: to clean house in November. You got to get rid
- 13:17Speaker 2: of Kathy Hochel, You got to get rid of a
- 13:20Speaker 2: lot of the legislature. That's the only hope I would
- 13:24Speaker 2: tell you to vote for Bruce Blakeman in November. He's
- 13:27Speaker 2: a common sense he's a governor. He's the county executive
- 13:31Speaker 2: of West of Nassau County, county executive in Nasau County,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and that's basically what a county executive is. A governor.
- 13:38Speaker 2: He's turned Nassau County into the most efficient, safest county
- 13:42Speaker 2: in America. So he'll be running and you got got
- 13:44Speaker 2: to get rid of a lot of this legislature. They're
- 13:47Speaker 2: just crazy there, you know, mom, Donni comes from the legislature.
- 13:51Speaker 2: You got people like that in the legislature, crazy left
- 13:54Speaker 2: wing people. They'll drive your cost crazy. Whenever you get
- 13:58Speaker 2: any of these very left wing socialis, his costs go
- 14:01Speaker 2: way up. It happens all the time. So hey, Bill
- 14:06Speaker 2: Maher has been pretty good here Bill Maher this week
- 14:09Speaker 2: talking about mom Donnie, about the people he's hired, the
- 14:12Speaker 2: things they've tweeted.
- 14:13Speaker 4: It matters that the mayor stands by, and so I
- 14:17Speaker 4: assume stands with someone who says things like, if you
- 14:21Speaker 4: don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize private property,
- 14:25Speaker 4: it's over seize private property. Home ownership is racist. Elect
- 14:31Speaker 4: more communists. Private property, especially home ownership is a weapon
- 14:37Speaker 4: of white supremacy. Really, even among the twenty million Black
- 14:41Speaker 4: Americans who own their own home.
- 14:46Speaker 2: He has appoint at some crazy people.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Democrats seem to be having this debate whether or not
- 14:51Speaker 4: Mayor Mom Donnie is a socialist or a democratic socialist.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Let me settle it. He's a straight up communist. I
- 15:00Speaker 4: know this.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Well.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'm reading between the lines when one of his major
- 15:07Speaker 4: advisors says, elect more communists, which is fine, it's fine,
- 15:13Speaker 4: it's a belief system. He's allowed to believe it and
- 15:16Speaker 4: people are allowed to vote for it.
- 15:18Speaker 2: But if liberals.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Deny it, like he's just going through a goth phase,
- 15:24Speaker 4: they're going to lose more elections. This is not a
- 15:26Speaker 4: communist country.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely not. Now. The only good news is
- 15:31Speaker 2: a lot of people think, mom, don he's not the
- 15:33Speaker 2: most courageous guy in the world that you know. It
- 15:36Speaker 2: takes a lot of guts to go in there and
- 15:37Speaker 2: bust up something and try to, you know, transform me.
- 15:41Speaker 2: It takes a lot of courage. A lot of people
- 15:43Speaker 2: don't think he has it so and this week has
- 15:46Speaker 2: put him to the test managerial wise, snowstorm, all of that,
- 15:49Speaker 2: and he put on that emergency response jacket and he's
- 15:52Speaker 2: out in the field. He was helping the shovel snow. So,
- 15:54Speaker 2: who knows, maybe he'll calm down a little, maybe he'll
- 15:58Speaker 2: start to realize what government should do and shouldn't do.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And well, we'll see. Hey, Bruce Blakeman will be with
- 16:05Speaker 2: this a little while. We'll take some calls. Next eight
- 16:07Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
