- Shamus: Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese Podcast. My name is Seamus. And I'm Hey. Herbie: Her bag. Shamus: And as always, you can be anywhere in the world, but you're here with us. And for that, we thank you. Definitely. So, what's been going on since we dropped our first episode, man? Our first video episode. Herbie: Positive feedback. Everyone's like going crazy for the stickers. I'm gonna try to get everybody more. just like a lot of positive feedback, and I've been just saying like, rate, and subscribe to literally everybody. Shamus: Everybody that was a criticism I got. Everybody was like, Yo, that episode was pretty good, man. And I was like, Really? I thought it was boring. it was just informative. Yeah. We didn't do anything off the wall. but people were just like, We forgot to like rate. Herbie: Yeah, so again, rate and subscribe. Shamus: Yeah, it's like I said, we could use all the help we can get. a lot of the feedback has been very positive. And I got news for you. We're just learning how to use all this stuff. And like I said, this set is pretty big. So we're gonna really start flexing our muscle here a little bit. We're gonna you know, we got today's episode we got three guests coming in from the exciting and new podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana. They're gonna come in and tell you about their movie review podcast. we have mentioned them several times before just because A, I think that's where we got the itch, Herbie: yeah, definitely. Shamus: when I went up there first time, I was like, this is pretty cool. And then the second time I was like, I'm doing this shit. Herbie: Yeah, we've done their shows multiple times, so it's been a lot of fun to review movies that we they give you a list of which ones you actually want to review. Shamus: And of course I have an ongoing battle with some of them because they they totally trash movies I love. And when they trash them, I mean that I think they purposely like, we're gonna give it the shamus number five out of a hundred. And I'm like, This is bad, dude. Yeah, but Herbie: I feel it in my nethers. Shamus: it's all good fun. it's like I said, they're kind of the premier movie review podcast in Jersey. So they're coming on in just a bit after the break. But other than that, man, how was your week? Herbie: it was magical, man. Now they have freaking Halloween version dino nuggies, which is freaking sweet. So I gotta get my hands on some of them. I haven't tried them yet. Shamus: Now do they hit different than the I don't know? What shapes are they? Herbie: I guess it's like a jack-o'-lantern. One of the girls was telling me at work about it today. I was like, man. But I did get a big box that I ordered off of Amazon of the Christmas tree little Debbie cakes. Shamus: You didn't bring any? Herbie: I'm not w no. What the fuck? No, I don't wanna I don't because we're having a bunch of people today, I won't Shamus: you don't want to share. I guess somebody I guess somebody didn't go to kindergarten. Herbie: Yeah, I'll share, but this is the little Debbie Christmas tree cakes. This is this is this is this is big stuff. Shamus: No, no doubt. Herbie: there's a box. There was a box of twenty. It was a b I was like, I'm hoping they're like the big ones because there are at Wawa. I've seen the other little Debbie cakes, they're like the bigger version, and I'm like, Shamus: Yeah. I did that I did not know. I did not know. Herbie: yeah. Yeah. It's just like the little chubby kid me is just like, yes. Now I can buy my own candy. It's great. Shamus: Well speaking of candy and and stuff like that, we went to the hocus pocus party, our friend Megan threw. Megall. It was good to see everybody. There was a lot of people there I really didn't know, but there was a lot of people there, a lot of familiar faces, and it was good to see. Yeah, it's some people were guests on the show previously. Christine was there from the Dungeons and Dragons episode. It was good to see her. Herbie: Kim Shamus: Yeah, Miss Kim was there, our kayak buddy and teacher's aide who came on and talked about all that. Yeah, it's true who's also the daughter of the village handyman, our buddy Leonard. So yeah, it was good to see a lot of people and we also talked to some people about coming on. Herbie: Which one? Shamus: there had to four or five people there that was just like hey man let's let's sit down and schedule let's schedule it out. Let's work it out. So we're in the process of doing that too. Herbie: Working it all out and stuff, which is gonna be cool, man, because each each person that wants to do it is like bringing another different flavor, and that's another thing that other people that has been viewing our show is that we have just a variety of people. So it's not just one type of person, it's just a variety of people that keeps like the things interesting and makes the viewers like yourself want to keep watching. Yeah. Shamus: Yeah, it's definitely not because of us. Well I'll tell you what, after that on on Sunday school though. What did the holiday do Sunday? you know, watch the Eagles lose again. Not their fault. They're just shorthanded and all that stuff like that. And then this week at my school, for those of you don't know, I am a S R O at a local regional high school. It was Spirit Week. So every day was like a different theme and All that stuff. So i yeah, it was pretty cool. Herbie: I remember my spirit week back in the day when I was a young lad. Shamus: What was some of the I know one day was Adam Sandler Day. really? That's cool. Where he had to dress up as a character in one of his movies and stuff. They also did a thing where as the kids walk in they play music. Yeah. they did this thing where they would play a song from a certain movie. Like they played Renegade, that song. who the fuck sings it? It's Renegade, but anyway, it was in Billy Madison where he's getting drunk on the side after he flunks out of school again. Yeah, exactly. But they would play a different song from like Tuesdays Gone by Skinnard was the happy Gilmore at the end where he looks up and he sees, you know, the Gator, Apollo Creed and his, you know. Yeah, yeah, Carl Herbie: Yeah man, rest in peace, Apollo. Shamus: Weathers that sucks. But and I nailed every one of but we couldn't play. We're staff. And like some of the other staff were like the younger staff, they're just like, we don't know that one. Like I even knew the Hawaiian song from Blend It. Yeah. Fifty First Dates, the Beach Boy song she sings when dah da. Come to find out, and this is no bullshit. The winner got like a hundred dollar gift card to the school store. And that I that school store is nothing like what I remember our school store was. It's almost like like one of them stores at the mall when you walk in, dude. There's sweatshirts, hats, like there's shit everywhere. Just they got a hundred dollar gift card. I was like, Scam, bitch, I knew that. Right? But Adam Sandler days, then there was a pink day. Everybody had to wear pink. And then one was a city day. like the freshmen had to wear shit from Miami. Sophomores were from LA. Party in the C. Seniors obviously were Philadelphia. And then there was another city, I forget. New York though? Yeah, New York. It was New York. Okay, I was gonna get rid of Because they're minors, I'm not gonna say names or anything like that. two girls walked in this morning and I nailed it too. 'Cause that was another thing. There were certain costumes you had to pick out and figure it out. Two girls walked in wearing hot dog costume. And me and two assistant principals and my other security guard buddy were standing there and they were just like, What the fuck? And I was like, Nathan's It's Coney Island. It's Nathan's hot dogs. It's New York. They're repping New York with hot dogs. And they were just like, I don't know, man. Did I guess it was right. Herbie: that's ac yeah, it was like South Jersey people not gonna be Shamus: But it was a good time this week, man. That's cool though. Yeah. It was a good time, man. even as some of the teachers dressed up, some of the faculty lost a bet with some of the senior class. So some of the female teachers had to dress up in cheerleader outfits and do a cheer today at the pep rally and stuff. And yeah, man. I don't remember a lot of my teachers looking. Herbie: Yeah due to the k I know. Yeah, I I remember a lot of my nurse nurses, teachers, but yeah, they don't they don't look they don't look like they the way they do now, man. Shamus: So it was a pretty good week. how about you, buddy? Herbie: Good man. Well unfortunately just found out like maybe like twenty minutes ago that Viper from Top Gun is gone. Shamus: Yeah, rest in peace, Viper. Tom Scarrot. Say what he must had a good run though. He was kinda Yeah, he had a good run. Herbie: Yeah, Viper's dead. Yeah, he was like ninety three. Yeah, he did. But for him, but I you it's unfortunately that he Shamus: Holy shit, it's Viper. I love that. Herbie: Four. Shamus: He's probably thinking to himself, holy shit, it's Maverick and Goose. He's Yeah, that's exactly what he's thinking. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: So yeah, rest in peace, Tom Scarrot. also and we're gonna let you guys know this. yes what was it yesterday or the day before? The day before we had a guest come in. we have my buddy TJ from Ocean Creations Beach Art. And he also owns his own LLC as a security consultant. Yeah, the Dino Herbie: Atlantic City I think. Shamus: Executive Solutions. he came in. He's a friend of mine. I've known him for Christ, over thirty years. Haven't seen him in 20 when he walked in. It was like old time. We had a great time, dude. We did a full episode and everything. And come to find out we had a malfunction with our equipment. Which I didn't see coming because we obviously did the first episode and everything went well. I didn't touch anything besides hit the power button. He came in, did it. Come to find out it was a malfunction with our connection between our soundboard and our video board and we had to scrap the whole episode. So I just want to apologize to T J. didn't mean to waste your time. Of course Herbie: Get to see him again though. Shamus: he's definitely coming back, dude. We had an amazing time. Herbie: That episode was fun 'cause even just me meeting him the first time it was just like I was cool. Shamus: you guys are like It was like that movie Step Brothers. You're Did we come best friends? So Herbie: Yup. Yup. Wanna go to karate? Yup. Shamus: But I reached out to TJ, you know, I apologize for wasting his time and he said absolutely no need to apologize. He didn't waste his time. It was good seeing us and meeting Herbie and he's gonna come back and do it. So why I'm telling you this, it kind of leads to a change in the schedule from what we said the last time in our video. Instead of having the exciting and new guys come in and help us with our Halloween special. They're just going to be our first video guest. we're gonna do a Halloween special on Thursday of next week. We'll put it out on Thursday, and then hopefully we'll have TJ back in so we can get that knocked out. If not, we'll we'll figure something out. But TJ's definitely coming back, and like I said, I apologize to him. And just wanted to give you guys a heads up on where we're at. Herbie: Yeah, but we have more people coming too, listeners. So yeah, there's I keep saying listeners. And now we have the viewers. So we got a lot of stuff coming in. There's still lot of people still that want to come out for the interviews. So we're just gonna have a lot of fun doing this show with you guys and hope you enjoy it and like what you see and be sure to like, rate and subscribe. Shamus: Right. Speaking of guests and interviews when we come back from break, we're gonna bring in the exciting and new podcast members, Jason, Andy, and Dana. So stay right there and we'll be right back. Herbie: Yeah, stay tuned everybody. It's gonna be a good one. Shamus: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to the Porkoel Egg and Cheese Podcast. Our guest today hosts the premier movie review podcasts in all of New Jersey and quite possibly the states, with hundreds of episodes and thousands upon thousands of hours of movie watching experience. They give their listeners their honest opinions on every movie they review. Even if I don't agree. They Jason: Yeah. Shamus: also are, without a doubt, single-handedly responsible for introducing me and Herbie to podcasting and what you're watching here today. So please, let's have a big round of applause for our friends Jason, Dana, and Andy, hosts of the exciting and new podcast. Welcome to the show. Jason: Hello everybody. Thank you for having us. Shamus: Thank you, thank you. Thanks for driving all the way down here. I know. Jason: We were excited we've been excited to do this. Andy didn't make it the first time and Dana was unavailable the first time I came on talked about the podcast and then we I had the Star Wars episode I came on. We did that one twice 'cause Herbie couldn't make the first one and then we did it again 'cause we didn't feel it was right doing a Star Wars podcast without Herbie. Shamus: So you were only here for the Star Wars? Jason: No, I did the one by myself where where I came on and we talked about the podcast and going to like conventions and stuff like that. So yeah. Shamus: So well how long have you guys known each other? Before like before the podcasting or yes. Okay. How long have you guys known each other and how did that work? Andy: All from work, right? Yeah. Jason: I knew Dana first. Dana didn't like me at first. No. Andy: She she still doesn't like it. Jason: but we work together. that it has to be over thousand Dana: Two thousand. Jason: over twenty years now, right? Dana: Yeah, I started there in two thousand. You were already there. Jason: Yeah, so we've known each other twenty six years probably around that much. So yeah. And Andy I met at our another job. Yeah. Before Dana was there. I I met you you had just left, I went there, then you came back. Andy: Yeah, I met two thousand and six ish. Jason: Yeah, somewhere around there. Andy: And then I met Dana just through she was working with you guys and then I would go out to lunch with you and met Dana that one. I came Dana: Yeah. And then Andy was working with Andy: back to work with that was right. Yeah. I was and I Jason: That's right for that. Yeah. Andy: came back to work with you guys. Yeah. And my wife and my wife. Jason: My wife. Dana: We all just work in the same place and yeah. Andy: We started the podcast because everybody was tired of hearing us talk about all the nonsense we Jason: Always talk and we would talk over each other. We still do that a lot on our podcast. Dana: Tell me about it. Jason: But no, we we just loved movies and we would always even TV shows, we would end up finding ourselves talking about a TV show that we watched that week or whatever, you know, like Lost was big at the time in the beginning of back in the day and we would talk about that one every week after we watched an episode of Lost. There was so much to talk about. So I think it's this, you think it's that. We'd we'd just be and then movies and then Me and Andy started going to concerts and everything together. And then we found out we went to a lot of the same concerts before we knew each other. Because back in the day we'd go to City Gardens, places like that. R. I. Yeah. Recently goes. Shamus: That was a shame, man. Andy: Just recently R I P'd, yeah. Jason: been there for so many years, with nothing going on and it just it was it was falling down by itself, so Andy: I had erroneously reported that it had been torn down like a decade ago 'cause I went out for lunch and Jason: Okay. Andy: I drove by it. I'm like, my god, they tore down City Gardens and someone else posted that on Facebook, R.I.P. City Gardens, and they got a bunch of hate back saying like Jason: Anthony posted on Facebook and then I said, Andy, I just rode by there the other day and it was fine I said. He was looking at the wrong spot. Andy: Just look toward that. Shamus: Well it it wasn't really it didn't start as a movie podcast though, right? Jason: No, we started as the the Love Boat podcast and that's where we got the name from, exciting and new from the theme song from the Love Boat, And we just kept it exciting and new and That's where that's where it sounds Shamus: I should Jason: like Love exciting and new. Shamus: When someone like meets together in Jason: Exciting and new. Yep, it's from the love boat. Yeah. You Dana: I wasn't on for that part. Jason: didn't even do an episode for that, right? Yeah. We did a season and a half, would you say? Yeah. Andy: Many? over thirty. Jason: I think it was over thirty years. Shamus: You did all three episodes on everything? Jason: Yeah. And then we then we were gonna do just random movies, we decided. And we did like Clue and then we did Police Academy, I think it was. Sure. Andy: Right. Jason: And then then Andy came up with the idea for forty years ago movies from forty Andy: just like why don't have a theme and I was like everybody does a Star Wars or a Marvel or I'm like why don't we just take a a year and do moves from that year and I figured the eighties were far enough back that no one's doing podcasts and no one cares about podcasts on eighties. Jason: And so we started in it was mid twenty twenty two because we started in nineteen eighty two movies and we didn't get to do all the eighty two movies that we wanted to. yeah, Andy: Yeah, 'cause we probably only started that halfway through the Jason: we started I think it was after May when we started, so but then eighty three and we we continued on. We had an old producer, our original third was Brian, he's no longer with us. Well Dana: Well, he's with us. Andy: Dead or Jason: I was gonna say more he didn't he didn't let me finish. I there was a long pause. Shamus: Happened. Jason: He's no longer on the podcast because he just he was actually just on an episode we just recorded last week so he's coming on for podcasts Spoiler alert, it sucks. Dana: Terrible. Andy: What one of our previous guests though did pass though. He was a friend of Brian's from work and Jason: Couple weeks ago. Yeah, it was really Shamus: Jesus. Now you guys got some more lore for your body. Jason: Yeah, usually we just talk about Vic Morrow because he died on a set of Twilight Zone, the movie. So Shamus: Yeah, Tom Scarrot died. Jason: Yeah, I just thought he was nine I think he was ninety two, ninety three, so that seems Andy: Old man, yeah. I I feel that means he was fifty Jason: He was in his fifties during Top Gun. Andy: in aliens. or alien aliens Jason: What was that? Seventy nine? So he was probably late forties maybe for Daily Andy: Maybe that'll be Jason: Great movie. Shamus: yeah, it's great. great movie. Yeah. Jason: Very good, yeah. Shamus: All right, so you gotta switch from the love boat to movies and we know where the name comes from. I didn't know that that the exciting and new came from the Love Boat thing. Jason: Yeah. Love boat. Yep. And that's so I if if you listen to the podcast when it comes on, there's a boat horn. absolutely. That's Shamus: I know that. Jason: the so that's where that all came from. We just our ex Shamus: Yeah, I figured you'd Jason: producer I don't know where he got it from, but he got it somewhere online, yeah. Andy: Free site where you could get sounds. Yeah. Yeah. He played he played that Shamus: So I just kinda added some stuff to Jason: Yours yours sounds like a song, somebody did a song and it's just Yeah, so I'd like it maybe. Shamus: To be in the music business, mana. Okay, so you guys did a couple episodes on the Love Boat and Switch movies. When did you come into the picture, Miss Dana? Dana: I think for nineteen eighty three. So Jason: It was mid eighty three somewhere, right? Dana: Yeah, somewhere around there. I'm not really sure. I know I'd been on before as a guest. Greece Jason: Your first one was Greece too, right? Dana: too, which is great. Shamus: This is great movie. Dana: I honestly for me it's better. It Jason: Not like it. Dana: is the superior Andy: Yeah, don't Michelle Pfeiffer. Dana: I love the Jason: I love both of them. Dana: show Pfeiffer, unbelievably gorgeous. Holy cow. Jason: And side note, I'm a huge D D Pfeiffer fan. Me too. Michelle's sister. Check her out if you haven't had a chance. Shamus: Because of that movie I got into dirt bikes and riding motorcycles and that's what all the motorcycle helmets are over there because of that left. Dana: First, here's the thing about Greece too that makes it better is everybody that's a pink lady and a teabird is attractive. You watch the first I mean, come on, Sunny and those gu they were not John Travolta was the only cute one. Kinicki Jason: Didn't think Kanicki was hot? Dana: no, come on, no teenage girls looking at Kanicki. Jason: Yeah. Shamus: Here. Andy: Right. Dana: Wasn't his name like Putz and Sonny and the third one? Duty Shamus: Makes sense. Dana: Yeah. They're not good looking guys. Jason: And Shamus: Even the chicks were better looking too. Yeah. In part two. So they were. Dana: And and of course, s Olivia's great but she's no Michelle. Jason: No, she's not a Michelle Pfeiffer. I agree with you there. Dana: And the music was great, the songs were fun. Actually I like the song better. Yeah. Yeah. Jason: Reproduction. Dana: my god, cool rider. Like Michelle Pfeiffer climbing up that ladder and then Shamus: Yeah, it's just Jason: Wearing those panties wearing yeah. Shamus: And I'm saying a bomb. Andy: Jason, take me home. Jason: Yeah. Shamus: 'cause for me that was the movie that I grew up with with eight Jason: That was one of those HBO movies that was on a lot, yes. Shamus: Grease, the original Grease, I was I was still like a little kid. I didn't really was into like musicals and crap. You what I mean? So I was like, whatever, but I knew of it because I saw so many like commercials of Jason: Eddie D's and it was on in both of them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Andy: Is he the only one fucking? Jason: Eugene and fr one other person, right? Yeah, yeah, Didi Khan. Andy: Some of the teachers Jason: Mm. Andy: I Shamus: He wants more wars. Dana: 'Cause he was having a mental breakdown. Shamus: Yeah. Andy: I've only seen Greece Two one time. Yeah Jason: The podcast. Andy: and we all watched it together. Tara, yeah, Shell. All all Jason: Yeah, we watched it in the basement. That Dana: And Brian. Jason: was our biggest podcast, I think, that we had. Andy: seven people on Dana: And did you know there's a wardrobe malfunction in it? Shamus: please. Dana: there is and we we watched that part three times. So in the beginning when Jason: When they're running track. Dana: they're running track, there's a guy jumping over Hurdles hurdles with his little shorts on and his Jason: It's all there for everybody, yeah. Dana: Yep. Yep. Shamus: His hang dang's hangbag just swapping around. Jason: He was getting his exercise that day. Dana: He really was. Shamus: Okay, so how many episodes have you guys done as the current lineup? 'Cause I know you guys are coming up on like five hundred, right? Yep. Andy: We well we've done just real quick, we've done a hundred and shit, I went the wrong way on my spreadsheet, sorry. We've done a hundred and two hundred and thirty seven movies. We actually did a special for our two hundredth movie that we did this year. So we've done two hundred and thirty seven movies, but with all the minis and stuff like that. The special two hundred. Ooh, no, I don't. Jason: what movie it was? Yeah. I don't even know if he did. Dana: We never remember what we did, who we did it with, we never remember. Andy: No, he was not on Let's do a movie where it's just the three of us and that nobody could possibly like because we don't need a guest on it. We just want to have we just want to have just to be the three so Jason: Yeah. Andy: we can talk about all our history and we s we pick Jason: And we had a few and you had some questions and stuff. We went over our top scores and stuff like that. Cobra was not our top scores, of course. Andy: pick Cobra because no one could possibly want to be on for this move. Shamus: That's it. That's the one thing too though. You guys like consistently pump out cat podcasts. You know what I mean? There's always a consistent Jason: And that's we had the problem we had with the love boat back in the day was we would get there and we would talk about everything else but the love boat. So we would have a two, three hour podcast and we talked about the love boat for fifteen minutes. So that's why we started doing a mini before we did the the podcast. So we can get all this stuff out, like things that we watch and any other crap that we just wanted to talk about. And then we still find ourselves str straying like Andy: We don't we don't stray as much as we used to, but those Love Boat podcasts, we used to watch it and talk about it. And it was a audio only podcast, so there's a lot of yeah, this guy and he's doing a thing and no one listening would have any idea what we were talking about. Jason: And we tried to talk about it and they're like, Yeah, he's doing this and I I remember taking the notes for that. I like taking quotes and writing it down real fast and everything as I was watching. To watch an episode of the Love Boat was like forty minutes with no commercials, but it was taking me like an hour and a half 'cause I was doing all the notes and pausing it because I didn't want to miss it because I but then we'd watch it with no sound as we were as we were talking about it. Brian couldn't see it, just me and Andy couldn't see it. Andy: Right, he wasn't participating as a vocal person. He was just the producer to try to like get him Jason: Yeah. We'd get him in he would watch it and he'd give his score and everything, but he was just not He wasn't watching it. Yeah, he would and then even when we were watching movies with him, he and he would watch the movies and do the podcast, he would say, I watched it at a a speed that was f he watched it at one and a half times speed or twice as fast, so because he wanted to get through it. Yeah. And it's like you didn't like this movie. He hated every great movie that we loved, and every movie that we hated he loved. It was just like Shamus: It just wasn't working. Andy: He was a hillbilly from North Hanover. Jason: You didn't see a lot of these great movies either. It's like I never saw Alien or I never saw Andy: yeah, lots of movies. He had classics that he had never seen. Shamus: Actually, yeah, speaking of movies, what is your favorite genre? Andy: I I'm a I'm a Star Wars kid for sure. I love action movies. We were actually talking about I was talking the other day about Terminator Two, Die Hard, and there was one other movie that we're we're trying to fit into like best action movies of all time. So those are my favorites from back in the day. Now that I'm an old man, I'm more of a like drama guy, you know. I watch everything with my wife now. So but I mean we went to see Odyssey and Spider-Man in the theater, so we still like seeing all that kind of stuff. So that's me. Shamus: Yeah. Dana: when I think of the movies I watch over and over again, it's definitely probably teenage high school. Like I'm a big clueless fan. bring it on. Jason: First time. Shamus: John Hughes. Dana: John Hughes, yeah. So I think, you know, I like that. I also like horror, but not gore. You know, like Poltergeist is my favorite, you know, scary movie, that kind of thing. But probably teenage movies, but teenagers when I was a kid. Yeah. Not teenage now. Jason: Teen which is one of her favorites. Dana: god, I love Teen Witch. Yes. Eighty I think it's eighty now. Andy: my god. What what year is that? Is that next year? Wait Shamus: All right. Andy: a couple years. Shamus: I don't remember that rap battle. That was epic rap battle. Jason: man, Dana: It's fantastic. Shamus: Matter of fact, a girl was in karate Dana: Yeah. Yes. Blake Lively, it's Robin Lively. Jason: Yeah. Blake's s half sister I think. Yeah, something like that. Dana: But B Legend of Billy Jean was one of my favorite movies. Any movie especially Christian Slater, who is my favorite. any movie he was in, like Heathers is one of the greatest. Jason: That's Shamus: the fun. Jason: a great movie, yeah. Shamus: What about Jay? What about you, Bob? Jason: I'd say I'm with Andy a lot. I'm a Star Wars kid again, too. But I love horror, slasher movies, a lot of those, you know, early eighties slasher movies, action again. I love all that kind of stuff. But yeah, horror, my favorite horror probably I watched that as a real young kid. It was nineteen seventy six Burnt Offerings. yeah, yeah. It's Shamus: That was creepy. Jason: It's a great movie. it's rated P G, but it should not be rated P G. It's a very scary movie. I recommend it if you haven't seen it, but Andy: We did a podcast on that. That was our Halloween special. Yeah, with Daniel, right before he left for American. Jason: That's right. Yeah. And this year we're doing a our special Halloween episode will be Texas Chainsaw Massacre Two coming out this year. We're doing for the fortieth anniversary. But we're gonna do the first one as well. So that'll be our special Halloween movie this year. Yeah. We saw it in the theater this year, me and Andy, on Texas Chainsaw Day. What was it? What was that? August Andy: Eighteenth or something. Jason: August nineteenth or something? Because at the beginning of the movie it shows a date and that's the date that they have it in the movies. So we went seeing the one night in the theater. Shamus: Yeah. Jason: Yeah, it was playing in the theater, which is great to see. It's only a an eighty minute movie, but it's great on the the on the big screen. It was really fun, yeah. Shamus: that man it's like that's one of those old forbidden movies when you were a kid. You know what I mean? Yeah. So you had to sneak away and go rent the VHS and check it out. Jason: Yep, that was one of those ones that I would rent when I'd go to the VHS and get you'd get three or four movies for the weekend, and I'd be one that you'd watch and you'd be like, I've seen this so many times, but you still watched it again, Shamus: Yeah, an older cousin that was into it, so they you got to watch it with them or something. Or you you had to beg to borrow that movie. Jason: Yeah. Shamus: All right, everybody, we're gonna take a quick break. when we come back, we're gonna talk to them about maybe some of their favorite actors, maybe favorite movies of all time, and then we're gonna talk to them about maybe the future of their podcast, where they plan on going with it and how long they'll be around. And also be sure to like, rate, and subscribe their podcast as well. Yeah, and please drop them an email. Jason: Yeah. Dana: Yeah, some Andy: Somebody's Jason: We've been trying. We want to do a whole episode on that, but we can't get to it. Andy: Very short episode. Shamus: All right, we'll be right back. Hello everybody and welcome back to the Pork Roy and Cheese Podcast. We're here with our friends from the Exciting and New podcast, Jason, Dana, and Andy. Andy: Hello. Shamus: where were we? let's ask you guys, do you guys have a favorite movie, or maybe top three of all time? Dana: I do. Shamus: Yeah. Jason: The Star Wars original trilogy is definitely in my top, I would say, movies. Andy: as far as movies you can keep like I'd watch Goodfellas at any any time someone wants to watch Goodfellas. Yeah. I'm a huge Shawshank fan. Jason: Very overrated movie if you ask me. Andy: And Dana: Jason is like it. Yeah. Shamus: A short story. Yeah, a lot of like Stephen King's bangers were just short stories. Jason: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Maximum overdrive was one of them, right? That was a short story. Yeah. We just watch me and Dana just watched that one recently. Did you watch it? Yeah, you did watch. Dana: Did watch it. Shamus: How about you, Andy? Andy: I would say Godfathers top for me, Godfather Goodfellas Original Jason: Godfather's up there, yeah. Andy: Star Wars trilogy. I'm a kid of the eighties, so we've done a lot of my favorite movies, Raiders, Back to the Future, E.T. Past Times, you know, those are all my Shamus: Yeah. Jason: Fast times. Last American Virgins, another great one. Andy: I don't know if there's been a movie in the twenty-first century that I would put in my top. Now, if my kids were here right now, they would correct me on that and be like, come on, you bit remember Jason: I don't know. There are definitely movies that have come out that we have liked. we liked the Odyssey recently, Obsession was a great horror movie that we saw recently, Andy: I don't have any l love for them like I have all those movies I grew up on. So it's just kinda like I saw yeah, that was good. I'll never think about Jason: If Star Wars is on spiked or whatever FX or something like that, you know, you're gonna put it on, it doesn't matter with the commercials or not. We're still gonna watch it just because we love it that much. It's just Back to the Future's another Willy Wonk in the Chocolate Factory, you know. Yeah, Andy: Yeah. I watched Good The Bad and Ugly last week or two weeks ago. I like, man, this is just such a fantastic movie and you can see in that movie the direction that was being made on that movie as it's happening. It's such a good looking movie and how they made that thing on probably a shoestring budget, but Jason: Best fight scene in the movie, they live. come on. Dana: Yeah. Shamus: Yeah. Roddy Piper. Jason: Yeah, yeah. Andy: Very excited for that. Shamus: Dude Miss Dana, let's hear it. I know you said you teenage I'm I'm sure there's a John Hughes movie in there somewhere. Dana: Well, of the th the the three John Hughes movies, Breakfast Club is definitely by far Jason: One of my favorites weird science too is up there. Yeah. Dana: Yeah. Yeah. But I think my all time favorite movie that I've seen five hundred times, I just showed this to my granddaughter over the weekend. though she might be a little too young, but The Wizard of Oz. that's fine. Shamus: Okay. Dana: Well, the witch Jason: How old is she? Two. Two. Dana: she you know, I showed I fast forwarded to the Jason: Say there might be a little bit of scariness in there with the monkey. Dana: Yeah, when the when the witch first comes up in a big b I kinda fast forward through that a little bit, so but you know, she's just kinda the witch, the witch, she li she liked it. Andy: Did she see Grandma is that munchkin hanging itself in the background? Shamus: Yeah. Jason: Yeah, that's nuts. And are they drunk, Grandma? Dana: Yeah. Andy: Always. Dana: Yeah. But that and Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies. usually the movies I tend to watch over and over again are definitely from the eighties or nineties. Jason: There's a T V series she watches over and over again. Dana: And Andy: That's one. Dana: my favorite shows are more recent. So for TV shows are kinda like now, but movies are kinda like eighties and nineties. Jason: I'll go old school T V if you want to talk great T V shows. Dana: Yeah, Jason's a little more over. Shamus: Okay, give me your top three there, champ. We'll do everything. Jason: Try do top three because I'll go even more but Dukes a hazard, Love Boat, obviously, Fantasy Island. I love you know I just watched I rewatched Night Rider recently. I'm doing TJ Hooker right now. Love that one. Dana: It's nice. Shamus: Yeah. He does, he watches all shows. Jason: I love chips is one of my all time favorites. I can't I met Eric Estrada, Larry Wilcox, and Robert Pine. Those guys were awesome to meet. but yeah, Dukes of Hazard recently, because I hadn't seen that for so long, it's hard to find that because Nobody's putting that on TV now because of the Confederate flag. But our friend that has Plex that hooked us up, Troy. Shout out to Troy. He got all seven seasons of that for me. So I got my friend first. I know, but he hooked us up. Andy: I talked to him last night. Did you talk to him last night? Shamus: I might have. That dude always hits me up. Andy: He hits you up? I hit him up. Jason: What you ask for? Like a couple of horror movies and you got like the entire universal horror movie. Andy: Last year I started watching from Dracula or Frankenstein, whatever the first one is. I was like, I'm gonna start watching the old thirties Universal movies. So I got through like three or four last year and I watched Invisible Man this year and the next one was Bride of Frankenstein. Couldn't find it anywhere. Not it's not you can't buy it on Amazon. really? You can't find it anywhere. So I Jason: Lucas is one of them. Andy: Yeah, yeah. I asked Troy, I'm like, Can you find Bride Frankenstein for me. I'm like, and if you can find the next couple Universal movies that would be great because I don't know how many I'm gonna get through. And the next thing I know there was five hundred universal monster movies on there. Now some of them were in Turkish, so I couldn't watch them. They're there. Shamus: There's also a movie called Turkish Star Wars that's Andy: Turkey. Jason: Wow. Did you ever see Thumb Wars? Yeah. It's about thumb. It's Star Wars with thumbs. Dana: God. Shamus: How about you, buddy? What's your favorite T V shows of all time? T V Andy: I let's see. I mean when I was young, like eighties, I mean I grew up on like Cheers, All in the Family, Mash, like those I was a comedy kid when I was young. I never watch I've never watched TJ Hooker or Night Rider. I did watch Dukes of Hazard, but I never I was never a hour long drama guy. It was all about comedies. And honestly, my if I was gonna say my favorite two shows of all time are probably The Simpsons and Seinfeld, I mean those were shows that I watched There's probably more Simpsons episodes out there that I haven't watched because at one point I was just kinda like, it's not as good as it used to be. But those first fifteen seasons I watched over and over again. I got the D V D's, my And I watched Treehouse Horror. Jason: Treehouse of horror. Andy: Yeah, I'll still watch Treehouse Horror, but that Seinfeld, those are the shows that I go back to the most, I quote the most. Jason: And that's why I bring it up on every episode if we're going through the cast and that person got a Seinfeld episode, I always ask Andy, do you know what episode a Seinfeld Shamus: There's always a way you guys relate to a Seinfeld episode. 'Cause Jason: I'm like Shamus: I never watched Seinfeld, so it's like I I watched the final episode and I know of it, but I seen like clips of it's like clicking through. But you guys are like geniuses with it, man. Jason: Yeah, I I could I could probably quote so man every episode you can find something in real life to relate it to and just yeah, you can quote almost every episode. Yeah. Shamus: Yeah, what's the like your T V shows? Dana: Well, okay. I tend to watch things constantly on repeat over and over and over because I'm just a creature of habit. I need my comfort shows. I I know what's gonna happen. I know what the next episode is, you know. So I'll just say, okay, my all time favorite TV show was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. yeah, that's a great show. That is by far my absolute favorite show, but the show I watch the most, which is not my which is not Buffy, is community. I watch the RP. Shamus: That's right, you have mentioned that on the podcast. Jason: How many how many times would you say you've watched that from beginning to end? Dana: I'm definitely it be somewhere between thirteen and fifteen times I've watched the whole show. Wow. So I really love it. I I n like I can Jason: Seasons, right? Dana: six seasons and a movie. Andy: It's just so funny that you have the number like that. I might have watched Seinfeld 16 times, but I don't know watched. Dana: I wa I started watching it during COVID. So there was n literally nothing else to do, right? So I watched the season and then it was over. And I remember it was so funny. Like a lot now Jason: So you ne you never watched it when it was first on, right? Dana: I didn't even know about it. And I saw it because I kept seeing clips on TikTok. And I was like, this show looks funny. And I had nothing else to do. And I started watching it. Tara hated it, so I watched it by myself. Jason: Huge Chevy Cheese fan too. Dana: Yeah, she loves Chevy Jays. What's wrong with her? So I love Chevy Jays. I like Chevy Yeah, but Jason: Eighties Chevy's the best. Dana: And then it ended and I was like, that's sad. I don't have anything else to watch. I'll just watch it again. And then I did it and and I lost track, but I definitely am in like the thirteen to fifteen times. And a lot of times it's in the background. There's one episode I skipped the G.I. Joe episode every time. I hate that episode. Yeah. It's not my favorite. Jason: I like that episode. I don't like the claymation one. The Christmas one or whatever it was. Dana: Christmas, I'm not a big fan of that one. But for the most part, even the ones where people are like, that was the worst season or the whatever, I watch I think they're f every there's always hit or miss episodes. But I watch it over and over again. And then I think outside of that, like I'm into again teen dramas. so I watch One Tree Hill and the O. C. a lot. the OC probably would be my third. Veronica Jason: I got one for you, Veronica Morris. Dana: Mars. How can I for I love Kristen Bell. I watch that a lot. I just recently finished another rewatch. I think that was like my Fifth time, but that's a fifth time since two thousand and three. That's not fifteen times since twenty twenty, like with community. So it's not as that's dedication. It's not as much. Jason: I I watch a lot of stuff over and over again like that too, Different Strokes, Silver Spoons, stuff like that. I've watched those many a time. Shamus: You bring up some shit on we what we're watching and I'm like, my god, I totally forgot about it. Jason: That's what I like to watch the old stuff and like I said, like Love Boat has the best stuff because it has like all the old guests that are on there, you know. Shamus: everybody. That Miami Vice. Everybody Jason: That's on my list. I got that on Dana: I even remember before the podcast, maybe about ten, twelve years ago, you were doing a facts of life rewatch. You'll come Jason: Yes, I've watched that many a time. Dana: in like last night's episode was blah blah blah. I'm like, I remember that. Yeah. The mad money lipstick one. Andy: Blair's getting an abortion and next week Joe's getting an abortion. Jason: Early seasons when Miss Garrett was there, you know, and they w they were smoking weed and they the one girl had a bong, she didn't know what it was, she was putting flowers. Yeah, season one or two. Dana: She bought a bunch of bongs from a a she thought they were vases. She got from like a yard sale. Yeah. Jason: Molly Ringwald was on her. Yeah, yeah. It's great. Shamus: So basically all the viewers, this guy Jason, put him on like Jeopardy or something like that, because he's made a lot Dana: Seriously. Shamus: of Jason: If it's the if it's if it's all questions about old TV and movies, I could do that. Yeah, or mus even music I could do well. But if they start throwing in geology questions and stuff like that, I'm probably not gonna pay you might know. Shamus: Film. Jason: I'm like, Andy: You write factor. Shamus: It's pretty much that easy. So Okay, we're gonna take another quick break and then when we come back we'll start wrapping this up. make sure you like, rate, and subscribe. The exciting new podcast and our podcast. And what's your email address for that? Andy: Exciting a new podcast at Gmail. Okay. Your email will be the first we receive, except the spammy button. Shamus: Yeah, do it man, 'cause th they have such vast knowledge of T V shows and movies. So yeah, hit up. Ask some Jason: They can come on the they can come on the show. Andy: If we get an email based off this episode of the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese podcast, I'm gonna track down all of the listeners of the exciting and new and you know be signed because you know, what what's it take? We did we used to It'll only take me like a couple of minutes. Jason: We had that one fan. Shamus: Even if it's Troy. Andy: No, no, he gets a pass for every Jason: We had that one fan from Canada that Andy: Yeah. Jason: he he came on a couple of times too, but he just doesn't talk to us anymore. Shamus: Okay. Jason: We must have said something that upset him. We probably Andy: We probably made fun of Canada. Jason: said a we said a boot we said a boot too many times. Andy: We're taking Lake America Jason: I think strange proof. Andy: I think we We had him on for Strange Brew, I believe. He was Jason: I think you're right. Yeah. Andy: on for that, yeah. Shamus: That would have been a great movie to be off. All right, Jason: Yeah. That was a fun one. Shamus: we'll be right back, everybody. And welcome back, everybody, to the Pork Growing Cheese Podcast. We're with our friends from the exciting and new podcast, Andy, Dana, and Jason. Yeah, no. Jason: Thanks for having us. Shamus: Thanks for coming in, guys. This means a lot. It's like I said, if it wasn't for these guys right here, me and Herbie never would have started podcasting. Yeah, the reason. The reason Jason: And now you guys got you guys have over fifty episodes now too. That's awesome. Yeah. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, we did fifty audio episodes and then this is our second video episode. So basically you guys were technically the first guests. Woohoo. Yeah. Jason: yeah, because your other guests didn't make it right. Shamus: Yeah. Well he made it. He made it. The audio part kicked out. Jason: So Andy: How often do you guys record? Do you record weekly or more than weekly? Shamus: Yeah, we're gonna do weekly. Next week we have well you guys will come up on Monday and then Thursday we're gonna do a Halloween special. So Yeah, Jason: Nice. Shamus: yeah, we're gonna decorate the set and all that stuff like that. It's gonna be overrun with corn and candy. Jason: That's the cat that's the podcast. Dana: I wanted to tell you, candy corn is amazing. it's I love candy Shamus: That's Dana: corn. But the thing is I can only eat it around this time and I get sick of it real fast if I eat too many. And only candy corn, not that pumpkin shape. I like Shamus: I love the pumpkins. Jason: Yeah. Dana: original shape, the the corn shape one. Jason: Huh. Shamus: Herbie told me that Dino Nuggets have a Halloween like the little correlation. Really? Yeah. Yes. Dana: Yeah, I I've noticed that Herbie is a few times on the podcast mentioned that he loves dinonkies. And I have a a teacup poodle. Her name is Sadie. She's 16 years old. And at Christmas time last year, she got really sick. And I thought she was we we were like, she's gone. I think it was Christmas time. And so back and forth spending a shit ton of money at the vet with no answers, no results. Just she's 16, she's not eating, she's lost four pounds, she's down to four pounds. She was like, Eight pounds, whatever. So we said, okay, I think today's the day my wife and I decided we're gonna go take her and we're gonna have, put her down and because she's suffering. Yeah. She hadn't eaten or drank anything in 48 hours. And I couldn't get medicine in her, couldn't for her favorite foods, she wasn't eating any of it. So my we were gonna take her at eleven, but we couldn't get an appointment till three o'clock. And I said, I don't wanna wait that long. Let's go to the emergency vet. We'll just do there. And So we were gonna go at 11, but then her sister called and she needed to ride home from work or she needed to ride to work. Our niece was supposed to go get her, teenager, overslept, couldn't get a hold of her. So Tara's like, All right, I'll come get you. Tara goes to get her, she comes back, she starts making some chicken nuggets before you know we're gonna go three. And they're cooking. The second they come out of the office, Sadie jumps up back from the dead, runs to the kitchen, begging for those dyno nuggets. And that's all and then she's like freaking out. She wants her we gave her the she starts eating them. And then all of a sudden everything's back. she didn't just almost die. She wasn't laying there dead for two days. She Jason: You almost took her to get put down. Dana: was going to be taken to be put down. And then all of a sudden she smelled chicken nuggets and came back to life. And but now that's the only thing she'll eat. So it's been quite a few months and she only eats Yeah, she's probably we can't feel her spine anymore, which is which is good. Andy: She's up to eight pounds again? Dana: No, she's probably last time I weighed her, I have to weigh her on a food scale 'cause she I put a plate on it, put her on the plate 'cause she's so small. But she she was over she was five pounds. So she was from four to five, which is a lot. A pound is a is a lot. Jason: That's a quarter of her weight at that time. Andy: You don't do the little pick up and weigh yourself and then put down. Dana: No, Shamus: Ten dino nuggets. Everybody? Yeah. Kirby goes on to something, man. Dino Nuggy. Jason: You're gonna live forever. You're gonna live forever. Herbie's gonna live forever. Shamus: Sharky smoke a bone, just keep on smoking your weeds and then just have your dino nuggies and maybe you'll live forever. Dana: Yeah. Sad is gonna live forever. She's she's now s now she's sixteen and a half. It's saving on her way to seventeen. Yeah. And she gets so excited the way it's when it's like five o'clock and she knows it's almost time, you know, it's just the same thing in the morning, but more so at night. Yeah, she's like she's running back Shamus: That's what it is at this point. Jason: Yeah. Dana: she wants those dino nuggies and you know, she gets them and and if we cook them for when our granddaughter comes over and we're cooking her the nuggets, then she, she's freaking out again because she smells her nuggets. And she's like, Why is this child eating my nuggets? So yeah, thank you, Dino Nuggets. Yeah, right? Shamus: Give us both the purple egg and cheese podcast and sponsors Jason: That's right. Dana: Lifetime supply from my dog. It won't be that long. Andy: It's gonna be a complete Dana: That's right. Jason: Do it. Shamus: S'empi sauces, send us some deppy sauces. Dana: Yeah. Shamus: So real quick, I want to talk about the rating system you guys have. Do you guys have a set way you guys look at movies or you just go, hey, I don't like this movie, so I'm gonna do this? Jason: Zero to a hundred we go and then it's just you know. Andy: Got a few. Shamus: Personal opinion or whatever. Dana: Sometimes I'll rate movie and then I'll find out later that I rated a movie that I liked lower than a movie that I didn't like. And then I'm like, that doesn't make any sense. so, yeah, I rated something recently. I was like, that needs to be higher. I think I gave it in the 80s. I felt like it should have been in the 90s, or I think my lowest score was a two, which was very appropriate for head office, which is a horrible mistake. Jason: Very bad. Great cast. Horrible movie. Yeah. But just last week with Poltergeist 2, I gave it a 20. Yeah. You know what I mean? Because it was Dana: And with that I gave we I gave Poltergeist one I think a a ninety six Jason: We were all in the eight I was eighty eight, Andy was eighty eight, I figured. Andy: I gave the second one a forty five, exactly. Dana: I think I gave it a forty five ish two. Shamus: rating too because I said before when we're doing the break that the old guy made that movie. Jason: Agree. Dana: The only scary part, yeah. Jason: That movie was heavily edited. Speaking of heavily edited movies, Cobra was heavily edited. Shamus: Heavily added to perfection. Dana: But it didn't edit out him cutting his pizza with scissors. Shamus: Yeah, we were at me and Herbie were talking about ordering a pizza today. So when you guys came in, we're hey guys want a slice? And like that Jason: Yeah. Shamus: and Dino's like Jason: Well let's get let's get your score for Cobra since we didn't have you on for that. Shamus: It's like I said, I when it comes to Stallone movies, it's definitely it's not Rocky, obviously, and all stuff like that. It's yeah, definitely not Rambo. I would probably give it an eighty. Jason: Okay. Andy: Is it better or worse than Oscar on the Stallone scale? Shamus: it's way better than that. The only Dana: I don't think I saw Oscar. Shamus: thing that was good about Oscar was the little the Italian puppet guy that was singing in the beginning, he's like la la la la la la la Andy: I couldn't even tell you the plot. I remember watching the theater. Jason: My favorite one is rhinestone. Shamus: Ryan Stone. Him and Dolly Parton. Yeah, rest in peace. I don't think I've ever seen that. Dana: I don't think I have either. Shamus: Dude, it's just like he's a he's a New York cabbie. Jason: And shit. It Andy: This year we didn't do it because you couldn't find it. Jason: was either this year or last year we couldn't find it. Yeah. We Shamus: I ain't gonna lie, guys. Jason: didn't this was before we knew Troy, so we have to reach out to him for that one. Yeah. Over the top is another great one that's coming up on that movie. Shamus: Love that Dana: I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I hope it's still I hope I still like it. That's the arm wrestling one, right? Shamus: If you don't have anybody on for that, let me know. Dana: We'll sign you up now 'cause we don't have anybody for Shamus: Yeah, I will definitely come on for that. Andy: We have to we have to open our nineteen eighty seven schedule up and start getting guests because Jason: Yeah, because there's some Shamus: Big movie knock me out for that one. I'll take that one. He's done some other ones. I've liked Stone, The Lords of Flatbush, I'd like watching more stuff in. Jason: That was good. How exactly Henry Winkler in there as well. Shamus: I think was it that one or Death Ray? Fuck Tom Han. Jason: Death Race is a good one, yeah. Fuck Tom Hanks. Shamus: Hear that, Tom? Well, let me I one thing I will give you guys credit for is that you guys I'm one of those guys if I see a movie and I just think I'm not gonna like it, I'm I just won't watch it. You guys actually sacrifice your time to watch some movies that I'm just like, what the fuck is this? That's nice. I didn't really realize that too. They're like they're actually forced to watch some of these other movies. Andy: We are we have watched a lot of bad movies. There's a movie that I did not watch for our podcast. I'll never reveal what that was. I just scored it blind. I'm like, I'm not even wasting my Dana: I fell asleep trailer. Yeah, I fell asleep at the end of Ice Princess, I think it was. Ice Princess Jason: Pirate. Andy: What a piece of shit that means. Dana: I fell asleep at the end and I was just like Yeah. Jason: It's not worth watching it, yeah. Shamus: I was gonna say if you guys had to pick what's the worst movie you've watched for the pod. Jason: Head office. Andy: The office is pretty bad. Dana: didn't like DC Cab, I remember that was one of the first movies I didn't like. Jason: Okay. Shamus: What was that? Dana: Sorry. And I didn't like Hot Dog the movie either. That's another one. Andy: Laura that Laura Brannigan movie. The Laura Branagh movie we did. she's Jason: What's that? what was that? Andy: a singer from the Gloria. But she did a movie, the the the sorority girls, Eddie Dana: It had Jason: Lugsy girls, yes, that was really big. Dana: another name. It had two names. Andy: They dealt up higher. Jason: Also Pi was the other name, yeah. Shamus: Yeah, yeah, because I've looked up Eddie Deason's other obscure movies 'cause he's actually been in a Jason: Surf two, but there's no surf one. There's no surf one, it's just surf two. I guess it's a laser Laser Blast is one that he's in. Midnight Madness is his best movie. Dana: Yeah, that's a good move. Jason: Love that movie. Shamus: Well get into an NTC movie. Jason: Whoopee Booze is this year, yeah. Dana: Okay. Shamus: What people Jason: Yeah, Whoopee Booze. I never saw it, so I'm looking forward to that. Andy: Very excited to Jason: We got we also have we got the boy who could fly still. We have short circuit to do this year. Sid Sid and Nancy we gotta do. Dana: The boy who ga fly is a childhood favorite, but I have a feeling I'm not gonna like it. Fred Jason: I hope it holds up. French sacred Dana: Savage isn't that but I think only one Jason: He's young in that though, yeah. Andy: Is that pre Wonder Years? Yeah. Dana: Yes, I think so. Jason: Yeah, Wonder Yeah started like eighty eight, eighty nine, I think. I agree with you there. Great show. Number one. Shamus: One of my favorite shows of all time. Andy: Watch. Dana: Yes, it was. Shamus: I was like, sweet Jesus. Jason: The Great Ni the Great Ninety Sixer. That would Andy: Did we do brain our door? Jason: be It's like eighty eight, eighty nine again. I forget it. Andy: If I've seen the movie just because it was on TV or if I watched it for the podcast. Shamus: You guys Jason: That was one that they were short of time, yeah. Shamus: are right in that sweet spot right now because like eighty five to like eighty eight, eighty nine, there were so many. Yeah, there really are. Jason: And we kicked off eighty five with Back to the Future and it's just been we've had a good ride. we've had some bad ones in there, but a lot of good ones, yeah. Andy: Can't all be great. We can't do fifty two episodes a year and have them all be good movies. We have to pick some shitty movies. Shamus: Yeah. Jason: It's bet it's always good when it's like I'll I'll love a movie and Andy and Dana I'll hate it or vice versa, Shamus: Yeah, you have to. Dana: I think I hate the movies the most. I think I'm a hater of Andy: When we did our two hundredth and I did the average of all our scores, we were all within like a couple of points. Shamus: Yeah. Jason: Yeah. Dana: Yeah. Andy: You were like sixty four, I was like sixty seven, Jason was like sixty two or something like that. We were all Jason: yeah. Andy: around the same average now. Jason: Dana definitely has given the lowest score on the podcast out of two. Shamus: Yeah. Dana: Yeah, it was pretty good. Before that my lowest score I think was for Hot Dog the Movie and DC Cab, which was twenty. Jason: And also I think you gave the highest score for Greece too, didn't you give it a ninety nine or something like that? Dana: I took off one point because I don't like Charade, that one song that that Michael Sandbach hate that song. Andy: penis and it was flopping around. Jason: I thought she was gonna say because every movie has to have you know, has to look to be everything could be a little better. You know what I mean? So there always there can never be a perfect movie, I don't Point break. I won't give it a hundred. Andy: Listen, we did we did Fletch, we did E. T. We did they Jason: ET was a high scoring one. Andy: weren't a hundred. I didn't give either those two a hundred and they're they're two of my favorite movies, so Jason: ET, I think I gave it I was in the nineties for E. T. for sure. Andy: There's always something you could add. Shamus: Yes, but you what's crazy too though, 'cause these movies, even though we have almost time time capsule sentimental value for these movies, they still have such rewatch butt and longevity for the other generations after us too. You know what I mean? It's like it's it's it's it's amazing. some of the movies we tal like he said, Goodfellas or, what was the movie you said you liked? Jason: I said a lot of movies that I like. Shamus: But mean like some of these movies will stand to tell like long after we're gone and Jason: Best times. Shamus: Fast time's another one, yeah. like all the John Hughes movies. Jason: Better Off Dead was one that was a big one, I think. it's one I I used to watch all the time on HBO as well. Andy: Dur during COVID when we were all stuck at home, my kids who are now twenty six and twenty-two, we had a lot of time just sitting around watching movies and stuff like that. And my younger one, who was still in high school at the time, we watched many movies. Breakfast club's his favorite movie of all time. But we also watched like Full Metal Jacket and Goodfellas and stuff like that. Jason: That that that was definitely one that we all gave pretty high scores for for Brian. Andy: Except for Brian. Dana: Yeah. Shamus: he didn't Jason: Yeah, yeah. Shamus: make the cut. Nope. And no dino nuggies for him. Jason: Sixty I think sixty for that movie is insane. I think it gave the Shamus: Absolutely. Andy: And we were like this guy, he doesn't get what we're doing here. Shamus: no. Jason: He remember he would have his inner monologue. really? He said he wasn't listening to what we were talking about, he was listening to his inner monologue while he was like doing the podcast. I was like, So what are you even here for? And Andy loved yellow Andy loved yelling at him. Shamus: Confused with Andy: That's one of that's one of the few things I miss on our podcast 'cause I wouldn't treat Dana like I treat Brian. So I ripping on Brian was fun. I'm not gonna do that to Dana. Unless you allow me to. I'm gonna just sort Shamus: When you guys go on video, maybe she get a big cut out thing of ride. Andy: No. Jason: Definitely putting him on the wall, yeah. Shamus: Or just have him he sit almost like he's sitting in the corner behind you guys or Jason: And the inner monologue just saying something. Andy: That's a good score for me. That was always his excuse. When we're like eighty five, eighty-eight, seventy. And we're like, seventy dude? He's like, That's a good Jason: And he's like, I gave it an extra ten points for the boot Shamus: I mean there is move points. I there's like many movies. But Jason: Exactly. He'd give boo points for blue. Shamus: there was no nudity in that one. Jason: Six that was the one that didn't have any nudity. Shamus: That's what that chicken RV was really yeah, still to this day. Yep. She was in frickin' what do you call it? the one from god, the the lover boy thing where he's like a the pizza dude where Jason: yeah. No, it's Lover Boy. Yeah, Lover Shamus: For boy. Andy: Loverboy's name in the movie? Jason: Boy Lover Boy's the name of the movie. It's yeah, Patrick Dempsey. He delivers Shamus: Yes, Patrick Dempsey's in it in the Jason: pizza, but he's he's a gigolo. Andy: Maybe I should start doing that. Jason: Curse the alleys Curse the Alley's one of the ladies that he goes to the house. Shamus: The chick that was in the Friday thirteenth movie, she was actually one of the friends of the blonde haired girl. I was like, she looks familiar. Yeah, she was a Jason: And then don't don't forget Crispin Glover in Friday the thirteenth, part four. yeah. Dana: Yeah. Shamus: Dance moves, I don't know what the hell that was. Jason: Him and Corey Feldman. Yeah. Corey Feldman. Dana: Yep. Jason: I'm saying it's his head in that one. Shamus: Yeah, a lot of people don't remember Corey Felman enough. Andy: Corey Feldman wishes he didn't remember. Jason: He was gonna be he was g Corey Feldman was gonna be in the next one but he decided to do Goonies instead. Dana: But he wasn't the one after that. He Shamus: Career choice, I'll give him that. Dana: was in the beginning of the next one. I wasn't sure if that was though Jason: Yeah, because it was just Those Shamus: Like a Jason: first few movies they did that. Like they showed the first the first beginning of the next movie showed the last five minutes of the previous Dana: When the guy dug up before the lightning came down, wasn't he like watching them? Jason: But it was a yeah, that was the younger Tommy because then they had the different Tommy playing him. Dana: That's right. 'Cause then they aged him up and he was a teenager. Jason: Tommy. Tommy Jarvis has three different Tommies in consecutive movies. Four, five, and six. You have a different one each time. Andy: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Jason: Great movie. Shamus: Well what else you guys got? I you guys got anything I know you guys are gonna jump to eighty seven because you guys do forty years back. Do you have anything else coming up? Like Andy: Well we always end the year with like we each pick a movie not of the year, try to pick something else. Jason: I think I know which one I'm gonna pick for this year. I'm gonna do Fatso. I think I'm gonna do Fatso. Shamus: You guys are Andy: Okay. Dana: Yeah. Great, can we Shamus: I find a copy of that. Jason: It's Dom Delawise. it's Anne Bancroft. come on. Dana: I'm not a big comedy fan like that kind of comedy fan. Jason: I don't know if it's on Pl I think it might be on Plex, but yeah. Dana: Yeah. Jason: He's just yeah, he's trying to lose weight. Yeah. And he don't he wants to find a love and he finds a girl in it. So it's a it's a good movie. Dana: Yeah, we tried to either do a movie that we was before we started, in the earlier eighties, seventies, or something that we know we're probably not gonna be doing this podcast in two thousand thirty five. Jason: Do you have any idea what you're gonna pick? Andy: I I have I have ideas. I just don't know what I don't wanna say yet 'cause I don't wanna don't wanna I don't wanna Shamus: Boy, Andy: pick it and change. I d I I think I Jason: You could change it, doesn't matter. What do you got? Pi give us an idea of one. Andy: It's from the seventies but email me the exciting new podcast. I'll tell you if you email me. If you email me I'll I'll tell you. Jason: Yeah. Shamus: Again if if you tell him now he's gonna be like, I saw that movie, I thought this he's gonna be like Jason: Now I've just to get excited for it, Andy: They'll be excited. Shamus: First it's movies and then the next thing it's it'll make you feel good. Jason: Watch the love boat. Andy: First time's free. Jason: We should have had video for that one. That would have been a good one to have. Shamus: Well now you guys are going to video soon too. So Andy: not not soon. we're we haven't even done step one yet, so we're not so Jason: We'll get there eventually. Shamus: Well all the viewers, like we said, just make sure you give these guys a little the exciting new podcast and also hit up their mailbox. Yeah. Jason: It's very lonely our mailbox right now. Andy: I get the same three people asking me how I can improve our podcast. Jason: I hate when I get those random messages like that. Shamus: We got a lot of those too. Yeah. So all right everybody. why don't you guys let everybody know where they can reach you, like your own individual Instagram and all that? Andy: I'm Andy. My Instagram is AE Gonzo1, I believe. I forget now. no, AE Gonzo 1970. 1970. Shamus: Yeah, yeah. I was gonna say we should have got the the theme song to your thing and started playing Andy: I know I can't do it I can't do it without the music playable. Jason: I'll get messed up and then that's it. If I mess up then Andy messed up, Dana's usually always perfect because she has the same Dana: Yeah, I only have one username. Yeah. So I'm Dana Caps seventy seven. And that's on TikTok and Instagram. Jason: And I'm the Jesu on Instagram and Jesus74 on X and TikTok. And we're the exciting and new podcast on all of our socials. Shamus: Yeah. Yes you are. And thank you guys so much for coming in. Thank you for Jason: Have it. Shamus: having us and getting us, involved in podcasts. Andy: my face. Can you blur out my face? Put a big happy son. Shamus: I might leave the face but that hat might have to go. Nixon fine baby Andy: What are you talking about, man? Did you see their ring? Did you see the ring they got? It was insane. Shamus: It's insane. Jason: Yeah, y lift open and then it's the stadiums already. Andy: And I heard they made two hundred more to sell. Like I haven't seen what those Jason: Price is gonna be outrageous. Shamus: Yeah, what's the price tag on it? Andy: it's probably gonna be a hundred thousand dollars. it's gonna have to be like it's gonna be Spike Lee and Chalamet and and Ben Still. Shamus: Yeah, on opening night I seen Marissa. Yeah, Marissa Hargate was sitting next to Spike Lee and what I was like, God damn, everybody and their mother's there. Yeah. Andy: They were all there, they were all there. Jason: They they do go there throughout the year, yeah, I'll give them that. Shamus: That ring is super Andy: From what I heard, you get those you you don't pay for those tickets. You're you're you're Larry David, you're not paying for your tickets. Shamus: Yeah, I can't. Andy: But you are not allowed to leave early. So that one game where they were losing by twenty seven points that they ended up winning in the in the finals, people were probably like, I wanna get out of here, but I don't wanna lose my Jason: Good thing they stuck around. Good thing they stuck around though, 'cause it ended up being a great game, yeah. Shamus: Yeah, that's pretty how many celebrities in Philadelphia can you Dana: Well to the we might have some some now that they have on on the T Shamus: No doubt you're definitely gonna get people coming down. Yeah, Andy: Bradley Cooper is Shamus: Brad it would probably be like Brad Will Smith Andy: Kevin Teller, I think. Miles Teller, wasn't he at the Eagles? Shamus: Miles big Philadelphia guy. Yeah.
