- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, December 29th.
- 0:11Radiant in the dark Have you ever tried getting ready in the
- 0:14dark? Like the lights are off, you're
- 0:16guessing, and everything feels uncertain?
- 0:18That's what it can feel like living in this world sometimes.
- 0:22But God calls you to be radiant anyway.
- 0:24Not with perfect appearance, but with real character.
- 0:27Proverbs chapter 31 verse 30 says charm is deceitful and
- 0:30beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
- 0:34That's not an insult to beauty. It's a reminder that beauty
- 0:37without God doesn't last and charm without character can fake
- 0:41you out. Second Peter chapter 3 verse 10
- 0:44sobers us up. The day of the Lord will come
- 0:46like a thief, and the earth and the works that are done on it
- 0:49will be exposed. That means what's hidden won't
- 0:52stay hidden forever. The things people flex online
- 0:55won't matter the way they think. The only life that stands is the
- 0:59one built on Jesus, truth, holiness, love and faithfulness
- 1:04and revelation. Chapter 19, verse 7 gives the
- 1:06hope. Let us rejoice, for the marriage
- 1:08of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.
- 1:12The bride is the church, God's people.
- 1:14That means you're not just waiting around for the future.
- 1:17You're preparing. You're becoming.
- 1:19You're learning to love Jesus more than distractions, more
- 1:22than approval, more than the temporary shine of the world.
- 1:25So in a dark, noisy culture, you can be radiant by fearing the
- 1:29Lord, by living with integrity when others fake it, by choosing
- 1:33purity when others compromise, by loving people when others use
- 1:36them. You're getting ready for
- 1:38something bigger than this life. Let's pray.
- 1:41Heavenly Father, help me value what you value.
- 1:44Teach me that real beauty is found in a heart that fears you
- 1:47and loves you. Keep me from being distracted by
- 1:49what fades and help me live with purpose because the day of the
- 1:52Lord is real. Prepare me as part of your
- 1:55church, ready, faithful, and full of love for Jesus.
- 1:59Let my life shine in the dark with your light, in Jesus name,
- 2:02Amen. Imagine stepping into a new year
- 2:05with clarity in your spirit, strength in your soul, and the
- 2:08supernatural backing of heaven behind every step you take.

- 3:11with God in today's three-year Bible Reading plan Proverbs 3110
- 3:17to 31 World English Bible. Who can find a worthy woman, for
- 3:21her value is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts
- 3:25in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
- 3:27She does him good and not harm. All the days of her life she
- 3:31seeks wool and flax and works eagerly with her hands.
- 3:34She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
- 3:38She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her
- 3:41household and portions for her servant girls.
- 3:44She considers a field and buys it with the fruit of her hands.
- 3:48She plants a vineyard. She arms her waist with strength
- 3:51and makes her arm strong. She perceives that her
- 3:54merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn't go out by
- 3:57night. She lays her hands to the
- 3:59distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
- 4:01She opens her arms to the poor. Yes, she extends her hands to
- 4:05the needy. She is not afraid of the snow
- 4:07for her household, for all her household are clothed with
- 4:10scarlet. She makes for herself carpets of
- 4:12tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and
- 4:15purple. Her husband is respected in the
- 4:18gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
- 4:21She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes
- 4:24to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her
- 4:26clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
- 4:29She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her
- 4:33tongue. She looks well to the ways of
- 4:35her household and doesn't eat the bread of idleness.
- 4:38Her children rise up and call her blessed.
- 4:40Her husband also praises her. Many women do noble things, but
- 4:44you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is
- 4:47vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.
- 4:50Give her of the fruit of her hands.
- 4:52Let her works praise her in the gates.
- 4:54Second Peter 31 to 13 World English Bible.
- 4:58This is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to
- 5:01you. And in both of them I stir up
- 5:03your sincere mind by reminding you that you should remember the
- 5:06words which were spoken before by the holy prophets and the
- 5:09commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior.
- 5:12Knowing this first, that in the last days mockers will come
- 5:16walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise
- 5:20of His coming? For from the day that the
- 5:22fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the
- 5:25beginning of the creation. For they willfully forget that
- 5:28there were heavens from of old, and an earth formed out of water
- 5:32and amid water by the word of God.
- 5:34By which means the world that existed then, being overflowed
- 5:37with water, perished. But the heavens that exist now,
- 5:40and the earth by the same word, have been stored up for fire,
- 5:44being reserved against the day of judgement and destruction of
- 5:47ungodly men. But don't forget this one thing,
- 5:50beloved, that one day is with the Lord as 1000 years, and 1000
- 5:54years as one day. The Lord is not slow concerning
- 5:58His promise, as some count slowness, but He is patient with
- 6:01us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all
- 6:05should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will
- 6:07come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away
- 6:11with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with
- 6:14fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be
- 6:17burned up. Therefore, since all these
- 6:19things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought
- 6:22you to be in holy living and godliness, looking for and
- 6:26earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause
- 6:29the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will
- 6:32melt with fervent heat? But according to His promise, we
- 6:35look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness
- 6:38dwells. Revelation 19.
- 6:41World English Bible. After these things, I heard
- 6:44something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven saying
- 6:47Hallelujah. Salvation, power and glory
- 6:50belong to our God. For His judgments are true and
- 6:53righteous. For He has judged the great
- 6:55prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual
- 6:58immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His servants at her
- 7:01hand. A second said Hallelujah.
- 7:04Her smoke goes up forever and ever.
- 7:06The 24 elders and the four living creatures fell down and
- 7:10worshipped God who sits on the throne, saying Amen, Hallelujah.
- 7:14A voice came from the throne saying, Give praise to our God,
- 7:17all you his servants, you who fear Him, the small and the
- 7:20great. I heard something like the voice
- 7:22of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and
- 7:25like the voice of mighty thunders, saying Hallelujah.
- 7:28For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
- 7:31Let's rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let's give the glory
- 7:34to Him. For the wedding of the Lamb has
- 7:36come and his wife has made herself ready.
- 7:39It was given to her that she would array herself in bright,
- 7:42pure, fine linen. For the fine linen is the
- 7:45righteous acts of the Saints. He said to me, Right, blessed
- 7:48are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.
- 7:51He said to me, These are true words of God.
- 7:54I fell down before his feet to worship him.
- 7:56He said to me, Look, don't do it.
- 7:58I'm a fellow bond servant with you and with your brothers who
- 8:01hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony
- 8:05of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
- 8:08I saw the heaven opened, and behold a White Horse, and he who
- 8:11sat on it is called faithful and true.
- 8:14In righteousness He judges and makes war.
- 8:16His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns.
- 8:20He has names written, and a name written which no one knows but
- 8:23he himself. He is clothed in a garment
- 8:25sprinkled with blood. His name is called the Word of
- 8:28God. The armies which are in heaven,
- 8:31clothed in white, pure fine linen, followed him on white
- 8:34horses. Out of his mouth precedes a
- 8:36sharp double edged sword, that with it he should strike the
- 8:39nations. He will rule them with an iron
- 8:42rod he treads the wine Press of the fierceness of the wrath of
- 8:46God the Almighty. He has on his garment and on his
- 8:49thigh a name written King of Kings and Lord of LORDSI saw an
- 8:54Angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice,
- 8:57saying To all the birds that fly in the sky, Come, be gathered
- 9:00together to the great supper of God, that you may eat the flesh
- 9:03of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the
- 9:07flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of
- 9:10all men, both free and slave, small and great.
- 9:13I saw the beast, the kings of the earth and their armies
- 9:16gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse
- 9:19and against his army. The beast was taken, and with
- 9:23him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight with
- 9:26which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast
- 9:29and those who worshipped his image.
- 9:31These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with
- 9:34sulfur. The rest were killed with the
- 9:36sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came out
- 9:40of his mouth. So all the birds were filled
- 9:42with their flesh. Thanks for joining us on Bible
