• 2:29
Speaker 3: want to welcome in to the show our good friend
• 2:32
Speaker 3: Millie Snyder. Hey you doing Milly.
• 2:33
Speaker 5: I'm doing so well. I'm so happy to be here
• 2:35
  Speaker 5: and see you.
• 2:36
Speaker 3: Rocking the three to oh four shirt here.
• 2:38
Speaker 5: That makes sense absolutely because I was out of three
• 2:41
Speaker 5: oh four for several days for a very special occasion,
• 2:45
Speaker 5: and that was going to Vermont to watch my middle
• 2:49
Speaker 5: grandson graduate from Vermont State University.
• 2:52
Speaker 3: Okay, what was his major? What's he going into?
• 2:55
Speaker 5: Everything that has to do with outdoors?
• 2:58
  Speaker 6: And I'll do.
• 3:00
  Speaker 5: Yeah in Vermont.
• 3:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good place for him.
• 3:03
Speaker 5: Well, you know it's I mean, he has a very
• 3:05
Speaker 5: diverse curriculum and he just is very qualified to do
• 3:12
Speaker 5: a number of things. But I have to say this
• 3:16
Speaker 5: wonderful grandson was qualified long before he got up to Vermont.
• 3:20
  Speaker 5: He's just has a wonderful work ethic and he's a
• 3:22
Speaker 5: great guy. So I'm excited that he's found a niche
• 3:26
Speaker 5: and he's already working. He's been taken up with by
• 3:29
Speaker 5: an international company, so I'm very excited for him, and
• 3:33
  Speaker 5: he's a good guy.
• 3:34
Speaker 3: What did you think about Vermont? I've never been there,
• 3:36
Speaker 3: but I heard you and Colonel Ron Hughes talking about
• 3:38
Speaker 3: it a little bit.
• 3:39
Speaker 5: Yes. Well, you know, living in West Virginia for fifty
• 3:42
Speaker 5: six years, I've heard the expression of fur piece, you know,
• 3:45
Speaker 5: when you have to go somewhere. But I can actually
• 3:47
Speaker 5: tell you that Vermont is a fur piece. It's far
• 3:51
  Speaker 5: from everything.
• 3:52
Speaker 3: So I'm taking it that you drove there, right, No, no.
• 3:54
Speaker 5: No, no, We actually flew into Manchester, New Hampshire, Okay,
• 3:58
Speaker 5: then into Vermont. So yeah, I'm still recovering, not from
• 4:05
Speaker 5: anything other than a lot of time in the car.
• 4:08
Speaker 3: How was the food? It was okay, that's all. It
• 4:12
  Speaker 3: was just okay.
• 4:13
Speaker 5: Now was actually I was very pleased our first meal
• 4:16
Speaker 5: when we finally hit ground on Saturday, when we saw Holden,
• 4:22
Speaker 5: who is my grandson, actually found something that threw me
• 4:26
Speaker 5: for a very big smile on my face. It was
• 4:29
Speaker 5: a Mediterranean salad right there in Vermont, up at Burke Mountain.
• 4:34
Speaker 5: I was thrilled. In fact, my daughter said to me, well,
• 4:37
Speaker 5: I guess you're happy now, Mom.
• 4:39
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I was.
• 4:40
Speaker 5: It was just a great salad.
• 4:41
Speaker 3: And I wish you didn't have syrup on it didn't
• 4:44
Speaker 3: well known, I guess.
• 4:46
Speaker 5: I guess you could have gotten it on the side.
• 4:48
Speaker 3: As we say in southern West Virginia syrup sp s
• 4:52
  Speaker 3: u RP, SIRP.
• 4:53
Speaker 5: Well, it's easier to say it it is very instead
• 4:55
Speaker 5: of pronouncing each letter. But it was a wonderful experience.
• 5:00
Speaker 5: I wish that more people, and I'm talking about wherever
• 5:04
Speaker 5: I go I see it, I see the same thing,
• 5:07
Speaker 5: would find out that they can embrace a better healthier
• 5:12
Speaker 5: way to eat. And I'm not talking about dieting. I'm
• 5:16
Speaker 5: not talking about counting your carbs. And now, if you
• 5:19
Speaker 5: want to do keto and eliminate sugar, that's fine, because
• 5:22
Speaker 5: sugar is not a friend. By the way, if you
• 5:24
Speaker 5: want to age more quickly, you should eat sugar. And
• 5:28
Speaker 5: it will also make your skin sag in the process,
• 5:31
Speaker 5: but in your mouth it'll taste great, but sugar is
• 5:34
Speaker 5: turning out to not be anyone's friend. And I actually
• 5:38
Speaker 5: have the information to prove it. And I give that
• 5:42
Speaker 5: information in my Mediterranean Mindset.
• 5:44
Speaker 3: Group and tell us about the group because then I
• 5:46
Speaker 3: got something in the news I want to ask you about.
• 5:48
Speaker 5: But going wonderful wonderful, Well, we meet at the Goodwill
• 5:51
Speaker 5: Prosperity Center which is on the West Side every Thursday
• 5:55
Speaker 5: morning at ten am, and we have our group is
• 5:58
Speaker 5: growing and people are made wonderful progress. But when I
• 6:02
Speaker 5: say progress, it's not just about how much weight did
• 6:06
Speaker 5: you lose, because there's so much more to the equation,
• 6:11
Speaker 5: and that is to understand to eat clean, fresh food
• 6:16
Speaker 5: and not things that have chemicals additives because that creates
• 6:21
Speaker 5: problems inside of our body.
• 6:23
Speaker 3: I mean, you can just stop eating and you're gonna
• 6:25
Speaker 3: lose weight. I mean absolutely, that's not gonna do you
• 6:28
  Speaker 3: any good exactly.
• 6:30
Speaker 5: And my point is people what they have been told
• 6:33
Speaker 5: and what they've lived over the years, was that diet
• 6:37
Speaker 5: that they were following at that particular time. I'm not
• 6:40
Speaker 5: saying that diet was bad or wrong. It just didn't
• 6:44
Speaker 5: have enough information. But now we do because we have
• 6:49
Speaker 5: the proof. People are now discovering and it's not just
• 6:54
Speaker 5: about the sugar, but we can actually reduce dementia. You know, Dave,
• 6:59
Speaker 5: I didn't grow up in a world that talked about dementia,
• 7:02
Speaker 5: talked about hardening of the artery, yes, but dementia now
• 7:07
Speaker 5: is almost the second word and a sentence when you
• 7:10
Speaker 5: talk about an aging situation. And too bad they have dementia.
• 7:15
Speaker 5: But what the research is showing that it tracks back
• 7:20
Speaker 5: to the eating habits that people have had and it
• 7:23
Speaker 5: creates a cumulative deposits in our bloodstream. And by the way,
• 7:28
Speaker 5: the bloodstream is in the brain as well as everywhere else,
• 7:33
Speaker 5: and we need to be aware of it. The Mediterranean
• 7:36
Speaker 5: mindset is old, It's been around four centuries. I think
• 7:41
Speaker 5: this is the way Jesus ate because what supermarket did
• 7:44
  Speaker 5: he go to?
• 7:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was exactly a you know, a Trader Joe's
• 7:48
  Speaker 3: or Costco over.
• 7:49
Speaker 5: There, right. My point is that he ate fresh, cleaned,
• 7:53
Speaker 5: and then when food came over to our country across
• 7:57
Speaker 5: the sea. They always refer to England as across the pond,
• 8:00
Speaker 5: but I'm talking across the sea. By our research, we
• 8:05
Speaker 5: found ways to make meat last long luncheon, meat lunch, meat.
• 8:11
Speaker 5: It's called I think, not lunch and lunch meat. And
• 8:14
Speaker 5: if you looked at the back of the label, and
• 8:17
Speaker 5: you know, you're going to have a problem pronouncing some
• 8:19
Speaker 5: of those words because your mouth doesn't even go that way.
• 8:24
Speaker 5: And that's the stuff that preserves the chicken and the
• 8:26
Speaker 5: turkey and the salami, and gosh, I could go on
• 8:30
Speaker 5: and on and on about some of the meats that
• 8:33
Speaker 5: that people are putting in their bodies. And yeah, it
• 8:36
Speaker 5: taste good in your mouth, and yeah, you had a
• 8:37
Speaker 5: sandwich on white bread. What did we feed our children
• 8:41
Speaker 5: white bread with baloney?
• 8:44
Speaker 3: So we are crazy? Now he's on the bologney.
• 8:46
Speaker 5: Now, why you while you're a blooney man.
• 8:48
Speaker 3: I'm from southern West Virginia.
• 8:50
Speaker 5: Okay, let me go back and say you need to
• 8:52
Speaker 5: give it up that bolooney. I don't care where are
• 8:55
Speaker 5: you from, because it's bad food.
• 8:57
Speaker 3: All right, Hold on one second, because we got a
• 8:59
Speaker 3: phone call. Let's go to our friend Jim. You're on
• 9:01
  Speaker 3: with Millie.
• 9:02
Speaker 6: Go ahead, good morning, Jim.
• 9:06
Speaker 5: When I hear your voice, I'm really well. I'm so
• 9:09
Speaker 5: happy to hear from you. How are you doing, Oh.
• 9:12
Speaker 6: I'm doing pretty well. Under the circumstances. I have surgery,
• 9:22
Speaker 6: so the staples come out today and so I'm happy
• 9:26
Speaker 6: about that. But I'm still interested in the Mesdanian diet
• 9:32
Speaker 6: and produ give and Dave, I hope you don't mind
• 9:38
Speaker 6: doing it. I need a number to wear. The kitchen
• 9:44
Speaker 6: here at nursing Home could call you to get a
• 9:49
Speaker 6: start on the measured Radian diet for me.
• 9:53
Speaker 5: I would be happy. I would be happy to talk
• 9:55
Speaker 5: to someone in your kitchen and give them the information
• 9:58
Speaker 5: that they need because it would be wonderful for you
• 10:02
Speaker 5: and other people as well. I'll be I'll do anything.
• 10:06
Speaker 5: I'll do anything to help. Absolutely.
• 10:08
Speaker 6: If you could give Dave the number to get a
• 10:11
Speaker 6: hold of you and he can.
• 10:17
Speaker 5: Get hard, you can count on it because I'll give him.
• 10:21
Speaker 3: We'll take care of it. Jim, where you're cutting down
• 10:23
Speaker 3: on this really bad, We'll get you that number. Thanks
• 10:25
Speaker 3: a lot. It's nine eighteen before I let you go, Millie,
• 10:28
Speaker 3: I want to ask you something, UH, and I don't
• 10:31
Speaker 3: bring up political things with you, but I do want
• 10:34
Speaker 3: to because there was some news that was made yesterday.
• 10:37
Speaker 3: Governor Morrisey came out yesterday and is asking UH that
• 10:42
Speaker 3: the SNAP program eliminate soda from the program from being
• 10:47
Speaker 3: allowed to purchase soda if you're on SNAP benefits, the
• 10:50
Speaker 3: nutritional Program benefits, and he's asked as part of this
• 10:54
Speaker 3: Mountaineer mile and everything, basically he's asked for a I
• 10:58
Speaker 3: guess and I'm going to get in the story a
• 10:59
Speaker 3: little bit later on we gets We actually have a
• 11:01
Speaker 3: story post about it at wv metronews dot com. But
• 11:04
Speaker 3: he's basically he wants it. So if you were on
• 11:07
Speaker 3: SNAP benefits governmental assistance benefits for food that you could
• 11:10
Speaker 3: not purchase sodas your thought.
• 11:13
Speaker 5: I absolutely want to applaud that, because sugar in the
• 11:18
Speaker 5: sodas plus the chemicals in the soda is no one's friend.
• 11:22
Speaker 5: And yes, I applaud that one hundred percent. It's a
• 11:26
Speaker 5: hard transition because a lot of people instead of drinking water,
• 11:30
Speaker 5: they have coke, and they have pepsi and they.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: Have West Virginia we put mountain dew in baby bottles.
• 11:35
  Speaker 5: I understand that.
• 11:37
  Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's a good thing. I'm just saying
• 11:39
  Speaker 3: it is.
• 11:40
Speaker 5: What When my children were infants, I heard mothers say
• 11:44
Speaker 5: that they were adding sugar to the blueberry buckle, which
• 11:48
Speaker 5: was one of my daughter's favorites, the favorite things. But
• 11:52
  Speaker 5: that's a mindset.
• 11:53
  Speaker 3: It's a blueberry buckle, it's a delicious dessert.
• 11:56
Speaker 5: Jennifer loved it. She would always smack her lips and
• 12:00
Speaker 5: we love that with oatmeal, okay, But nonetheless, they were
• 12:03
Speaker 5: adding sugar to baby food. So I am not the
• 12:06
Speaker 5: least bit surprised that you jokingly say, although I think
• 12:09
Speaker 5: you're serious that my mountain dew is in the baby.
• 12:13
  Speaker 3: Bottles, I mean it's I mean, I knew people that
• 12:15
Speaker 3: did that. Yeah, I mean, you know it. It was
• 12:18
  Speaker 3: not unheard of.
• 12:19
Speaker 5: Now, when you look around and you are having five
• 12:22
Speaker 5: and six, maybe ten mountain dews every day, do not
• 12:26
Speaker 5: question in your mind is that person healthy. Chances are
• 12:30
Speaker 5: they are struggling with their weight because it's an overload
• 12:35
Speaker 5: of bad ingredients in the body and the body doesn't
• 12:38
Speaker 5: know what to do with it. So it just adds
• 12:40
  Speaker 5: to the girth.
• 12:42
Speaker 3: You've been taking in any of the cycling events here
• 12:44
  Speaker 3: in Charleston.
• 12:45
Speaker 5: No, I have not, but I'm interested in it, and
• 12:47
Speaker 5: I'm so happy that our mayor may that happen and
• 12:50
Speaker 5: bring this wonderful event to Charleston.
• 12:54
Speaker 3: I mean, there's a whole lot of people in Charles
• 12:56
Speaker 3: and it's only going to ramp up. And of course
• 12:58
Speaker 3: there's the traffic issues and we all get that, but
• 13:01
Speaker 3: you know, I mean, overall, it's a great event for Charleston.
• 13:03
Speaker 3: And I'm somebody that works in downtown Charleston. I've had
• 13:05
Speaker 3: to go through it as well. And it's only going
• 13:08
Speaker 3: to get better over the next few days. And we've
• 13:09
Speaker 3: got this for a couple of years, so it puts
• 13:11
Speaker 3: Charleston in a national and in many cases international spotlight.
• 13:15
Speaker 3: The people that you're seeing here qualifying for the Olympics,
• 13:17
Speaker 3: we just saw that last year, so it's a good thing.
• 13:20
Speaker 5: I just want to tell you that last year I
• 13:21
Speaker 5: followed some bikers up Bridge Road and I couldn't even
• 13:25
Speaker 5: drive my car because I was watching their muscles and
• 13:28
Speaker 5: they didn't move. They didn't miss a move pedaling up
• 13:32
Speaker 5: Bridge Road. They had me last year. There's nothing they
• 13:37
Speaker 5: have to do this year. But I'm sure it's gotten
• 13:39
  Speaker 5: even better.
• 13:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, Millie, you weren't. You were behaving yourself around those
• 13:43
Speaker 3: young guys on the bikes, right, trying to Okay, I'm
• 13:46
Speaker 3: just trying to That's all you can do.

• 17:34
Speaker 3: I need to I need to get a teenager in

• 17:50
Speaker 3: on the show. Ryan is working on that as we speak.
• 17:53
Speaker 3: So while we're working on getting doctor Sacks, let's knock
• 17:55
Speaker 3: out a couple of texts. Texas, Dave, I remember years
• 17:59
Speaker 3: ago people were told to eat healthy, so they started
• 18:01
Speaker 3: to do that until the price of healthy foods tripled
• 18:04
Speaker 3: and they are no longer affordable. This is the problem,
• 18:08
Speaker 3: says a texture. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna argue
• 18:15
Speaker 3: with that, although I will say it is possible to
• 18:17
Speaker 3: plant and grow your own foods. That is a possibility, Ryan,
• 18:22
Speaker 3: She is sitting next to the phone, So let me
• 18:26
Speaker 3: do this. It is it is highly possible that perhaps
• 18:29
Speaker 3: I gave you the wrong number. I don't know how
• 18:32
Speaker 3: I did that because we call the same number every month.
• 18:34
Speaker 3: So let me do this and love live radio, folks.
• 18:43
Speaker 3: You gotta love it, all right. I am sending you
• 18:45
Speaker 3: Ryan a all right. It is always possible that I
• 18:50
Speaker 3: type the wrong number, So I just sent you the
• 18:53
Speaker 3: other number. And she's sitting right by the phone. If
• 18:55
Speaker 3: nothing else, will write her a letter and we'll read
• 18:57
Speaker 3: it on the air. Texas. Who does the governor think
• 18:59
Speaker 3: he is? Michelle Obama? I want to get into this
• 19:03
Speaker 3: a little bit later on. The Governor of course announced
• 19:05
Speaker 3: you what that's in reference to yesterday, and Millie and
• 19:07
Speaker 3: I talked about it, all right, so I'm gonna send you.
• 19:11
Speaker 3: So she says, now we'll try her sell because apparently
• 19:13
Speaker 3: she's having phone issues in her office. We'll get her.
• 19:17
Speaker 3: We'll get her, Bob with tarily all right. So we
• 19:20
Speaker 3: still have nothing from doctor Sachs. I think we might
• 19:23
Speaker 3: have her now based on looking in the glass in here,
• 19:26
Speaker 3: I think we possibly have doctor Sacks.
• 19:27
  Speaker 11: All right.
• 19:29
Speaker 3: So anyway, this was the governor came out yesterday and
• 19:34
Speaker 3: said this on the and said this in a press
• 19:37
Speaker 3: conference that he wants he wants to eliminate the ability
• 19:42
Speaker 3: to be able to purchase SODA's if you're on a
• 19:45
Speaker 3: Snap program. We have a story posted about at wv
• 19:47
Speaker 3: metronews dot com. We'll get into that a little bit
• 19:49
Speaker 3: later on in the show. Texas Snap should have stipulations
• 19:53
Speaker 3: on them, just like Wick that's Women's Infants and Children's program,
• 19:57
Speaker 3: make Snap, ebt, etcetera. With the same no junk foods,
• 20:00
Speaker 3: perhaps ten percent of your monthly amount can be used
• 20:02
Speaker 3: to purchase snacks, SODA's frozen items. Also, no restaurant purchases.
• 20:06
Speaker 3: It's a texture. All right. We got doctor Sacks. Now
• 20:09
Speaker 3: let's go to doctor Casey Sacksonbridge Valley. How you doing, doctor,
• 20:12
Speaker 3: Good morning, I'm terrific.
• 20:13
Speaker 12: How about you, David.
• 20:14
Speaker 3: I apologize for us having the inability to get you there.
• 20:17
Speaker 3: Chances are the fault lies with the host of the show.
• 20:21
Speaker 12: No, we figured it out. Ryan said it was the
• 20:23
Speaker 12: number he was calling was off by one digit.
• 20:25
Speaker 3: Well that's out. And guess who gives him the number
• 20:28
Speaker 3: to call? Oh, well that would be me, That would
• 20:31
  Speaker 3: be me. That's I apologize.
• 20:32
  Speaker 11: For that, Ryan.
• 20:33
Speaker 12: Feel it all worked out.
• 20:34
Speaker 3: All right. So you guys are hanging out with one
• 20:37
Speaker 3: of my favorite people in the world talking about food
• 20:39
Speaker 3: in Chef Paul. What's going on?
• 20:41
Speaker 12: He's wonderful. So Chef Paul and health Right have had
• 20:45
Speaker 12: a long standing partnership where Chef Paul actually provides training
• 20:49
Speaker 12: to folks who use health Right services. And it's front
• 20:52
Speaker 12: of the house, it's back of the house. It's trying
• 20:53
Speaker 12: to get people who haven't seen themselves as maybe future
• 20:57
Speaker 12: restaurant employees into the industry. And I learned about it
• 21:02
Speaker 12: visiting health Right one day and said that this seems
• 21:05
Speaker 12: worthy of college credits. So we looked at their learning
• 21:08
Speaker 12: outcomes and evaluated the program and are able to award
• 21:12
Speaker 12: people who complete it three college credits so that they
• 21:15
Speaker 12: could use those towards an associate's degree. So we're really
• 21:19
Speaker 12: trying to help people who maybe didn't see themselves as
• 21:21
Speaker 12: college students, but who have had now some great training
• 21:24
Speaker 12: and great work based learning from Chef poll really see
• 21:28
Speaker 12: themselves as college students and maybe think about another career.
• 21:31
Speaker 3: I love the fact that we are celebrating the culinary
• 21:34
Speaker 3: arts because there's one thing about it. People are always
• 21:37
Speaker 3: and they talk about jobs that are recession proof, and
• 21:40
Speaker 3: I don't know about that when it comes to the
• 21:42
Speaker 3: culinary arts, but I will say people are always going
• 21:44
Speaker 3: to have to eat. You know, you can only do
• 21:46
Speaker 3: AI for so many things.
• 21:47
Speaker 12: Right, Gosh, that's true. It does seem like the computer
• 21:50
Speaker 12: is not going to take over a function like chef
• 21:52
  Speaker 12: polls anytime.
• 21:53
Speaker 3: If I could get a three D printer that can
• 21:55
Speaker 3: make turkey and dressing, I'll be doing well. The WIN Academy,
• 22:01
Speaker 3: you're having an open house next month.
• 22:03
Speaker 12: So the open house next month is for everybody, but yes,
• 22:07
Speaker 12: there is one that's specific for the WIN Academy. I
• 22:10
Speaker 12: was actually talking to one of our Wind students recently
• 22:13
Speaker 12: and she was telling me she used to be a
• 22:15
Speaker 12: homeschool student and her family found out about the Win
• 22:18
Speaker 12: Academy and decided to stop homeschooling her and send her
• 22:21
Speaker 12: to the Win Academy for the rest of her high
• 22:23
Speaker 12: school instead. And it was a good choice. She just
• 22:25
Speaker 12: graduated and she's really exceptional.
• 22:27
Speaker 3: And for those again who may not know you come
• 22:29
Speaker 3: on every month and talk about a couple times a
• 22:30
Speaker 3: month to talk about the Win Academy, explain what the
• 22:32
  Speaker 3: Win Academy is.
• 22:33
  Speaker 11: So, the Win.
• 22:34
Speaker 12: Academy is an early college high school. It's a public
• 22:37
Speaker 12: school for students. We used West Virginia's charter school law
• 22:40
Speaker 12: to be able to spin it up. But it's a
• 22:42
Speaker 12: public high school and students who are in their junior
• 22:45
Speaker 12: and senior year come to Bridge Valley and take college
• 22:48
Speaker 12: classes alongside college students that are really designed to get
• 22:52
Speaker 12: them ready to be in nursing or in manufacturing. And
• 22:56
Speaker 12: the idea is we saw that students would graduate from
• 22:59
Speaker 12: high school and then need all of these prerequisite classes
• 23:01
Speaker 12: to be ready to be nurses. So the college English
• 23:04
Speaker 12: and microbiology and that kind of thing, and we found
• 23:08
Speaker 12: that high school students can do those classes. We just
• 23:10
Speaker 12: need to offer them the opportunity. So that's what we've done.
• 23:14
Speaker 3: And again, I just think it's an absolutely wonderful program.
• 23:16
Speaker 3: And at this time of year, when you know the
• 23:18
Speaker 3: high school graduations are beginning, I think, I think I
• 23:22
Speaker 3: heard on the air one of Riverside is having there
• 23:24
Speaker 3: is now the CV, I think, and other schools are
• 23:27
Speaker 3: going to be having their graduations. This is this is
• 23:29
Speaker 3: a this is a public school we're talking about here.
• 23:33
Speaker 12: It is it's a public high school. It's free to families.
• 23:36
Speaker 12: It's really a great opportunity. And one of the things
• 23:39
Speaker 12: we found. We had twenty students graduate from high school
• 23:42
Speaker 12: a couple of weeks ago. Most of them are staying
• 23:45
Speaker 12: on at Bridge Valley. They'll do one more year of
• 23:47
Speaker 12: classes with us, and then they'll finish their associates degree
• 23:50
Speaker 12: and start working for manufacturers in the region or for
• 23:53
Speaker 12: healthcare providers in the region. But several of them have
• 23:56
Speaker 12: transferred immediately to other places. They're going to mar Marshall
• 24:00
Speaker 12: and Glennville and WVU and those students are taking with
• 24:04
Speaker 12: them up to sixty credit hours of college coursework. So
• 24:07
Speaker 12: they'll start at those places as nineteen year olds who
• 24:10
Speaker 12: are in their junior year of college.
• 24:12
Speaker 3: We had a text here speaking of the culinary art
• 24:15
Speaker 3: somebody said, will Bridge Valley have a culinary degree program?
• 24:18
Speaker 12: So we will not have a culinary degree program. And
• 24:21
Speaker 12: the reason why has to do with the ratio of
• 24:24
Speaker 12: how much it would cost to go to school for
• 24:26
Speaker 12: a whole degree program versus how much money you make.
• 24:29
Speaker 12: And so one of the things that our finance Federal
• 24:32
Speaker 12: Financial Lead is really sensitive to is that ratio and
• 24:35
Speaker 12: that we need to have programs on campus where if
• 24:38
Speaker 12: you graduate and go work in the field and make
• 24:41
Speaker 12: the average wage for the field, that you would make
• 24:43
Speaker 12: more money than you would have with the high school degree.
• 24:46
Speaker 12: And in culinary it's one of those areas where people
• 24:50
Speaker 12: like Chef Paul would hire you with the high school
• 24:52
Speaker 12: degree and pay you the same wage as if you
• 24:54
Speaker 12: were to have a culinary degree.
• 24:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think you've already got a you mentioned
• 24:57
Speaker 3: Chef Paul, but there are others that you work with
• 24:59
Speaker 3: as well. While you may not have that culinary arts program,
• 25:03
Speaker 3: you do have somebody like a Chef Paul that's there
• 25:06
Speaker 3: that's going to be ready to snatch you up. You know,
• 25:08
Speaker 3: I'll put you to work, that's right, and so many.
• 25:11
Speaker 12: Others for us to focus on the labor market outcome.
• 25:14
Speaker 3: I got you, and you're registering now for fall.
• 25:16
Speaker 12: We are registering right now for fall, so we've got you.
• 25:19
Speaker 12: Asked about the win open house. So we're registering for
• 25:21
Speaker 12: wind for fall, and that one is June tenth. We're
• 25:25
Speaker 12: also actively registering adults anyone else who wants to come
• 25:29
Speaker 12: for fall. Our next open registration for them is June nineteenth,
• 25:33
Speaker 12: open registration for fall, And really any day is open registration,
• 25:37
Speaker 12: but we try and have dedicated days so that folks
• 25:39
Speaker 12: feel like they're not the only one or there's a
• 25:43
Speaker 12: whole group of people going through advising, and sometimes just
• 25:45
Speaker 12: having that cohort is a more comfortable experience. So you're
• 25:48
Speaker 12: you're welcome any day, but June nineteenth is our next
• 25:51
Speaker 12: sort of big push.
• 25:52
Speaker 3: Well that's the day, all right. So I heard this
• 25:54
Speaker 3: term the other day. I was actually doing a little
• 25:55
Speaker 3: bit of reading about some things that you had to
• 25:57
Speaker 3: going on at Bridge Valley. I heard this term Alumina Grants.
• 26:00
Speaker 12: Oh yeah, so the woman that foundation is a foundation
• 26:03
Speaker 12: that is just very invested in post secondary success for
• 26:07
Speaker 12: learners all over the country, and they have made an
• 26:10
Speaker 12: investment here in Bridge Valley to really help us with
• 26:13
Speaker 12: workforce programming. And the idea is how do we best
• 26:16
Speaker 12: serve our employer needs in the community. And so we've
• 26:20
Speaker 12: been working really hard to figure out how do we
• 26:23
Speaker 12: identify what our employers need, what's our data stay, where
• 26:26
Speaker 12: are the jobs, do we have the right programs to
• 26:29
Speaker 12: be able to help train people up for those jobs,
• 26:31
Speaker 12: and really working with our employers and advisory committees to
• 26:34
Speaker 12: get better at that. It's one of the things that
• 26:36
Speaker 12: we pride ourselves in here, but it's one of also
• 26:39
Speaker 12: one of the things that we feel like we should
• 26:40
Speaker 12: always be focused on in doing a little better.
• 26:43
Speaker 3: Doctor Katie Sachs a Bridge Valley, It's always a pleasure

• 27:05
Speaker 3: out there at Bridge Valley. Going back to the governor's
• 27:09
Speaker 3: announcement yesterday, Texas, Dave not everyone has the space or
• 27:12
Speaker 3: talent to grow their own food. Growing food for substance
• 27:15
Speaker 3: requires time, space, and skill. People can't feed themselves or
• 27:19
Speaker 3: their family on tomatoes and squash. I completely understand that.
• 27:23
Speaker 3: I was not saying that that's what they're supposed to
• 27:25
Speaker 3: do to totally feed their families. I'm just saying that
• 27:28
Speaker 3: there are programs available. I know the Extension Service does
• 27:30
Speaker 3: that to teach people how to do these things. That's
• 27:34
Speaker 3: where the skill level comes in. And they're free of charge,
• 27:37
Speaker 3: you know, for the most part. But it's an interesting
• 27:41
Speaker 3: I'm gonna get into this little bit later on because
• 27:42
Speaker 3: we gotta get in a run for the wall, but
• 27:44
Speaker 3: it's a very interesting I don't even want to say argument.
• 27:47
Speaker 3: I'll say it is a very interesting discussion about this
• 27:51
Speaker 3: about people on snap benefits and the government telling them
• 27:54
Speaker 3: what they can and can't buy. They already do this
• 27:57
Speaker 3: with other programs. They already do the texture mentioned the
• 28:01
Speaker 3: Wick program that is one. So it's it's an interesting discussion.
• 28:07
Speaker 3: Text says I'm not go againt SODA's not being available
• 28:09
Speaker 3: for snap. However, since having children, I see the necessity
• 28:13
Speaker 3: for calorie dense, long shelf life, easy to prepare foods.
• 28:16
Speaker 3: I cook meals for my children. But doing that two
• 28:19
Speaker 3: or three times a day every day, plus house chores,
• 28:22
Speaker 3: plus playing with the kids on top of working eight
• 28:24
Speaker 3: hours a day, it gets exhausting. I can imagine it

• 31:49
Speaker 3: rolls into the Canal Valley today. At tomorrow tonight, they're
• 31:52
Speaker 3: gonna stop at Valley Park and Hurricane. Mayor Scott Edwards
• 31:55
Speaker 3: of the fine city of Hurricane joins us now to
• 31:57
Speaker 3: talk about it. Welcome to the show, Mayor.
• 32:00
Speaker 11: Hey, how you doing this morning, My friend?
• 32:01
Speaker 3: I am fine, Thank you for being here. Tell us
• 32:03
Speaker 3: about this big event.
• 32:05
Speaker 11: Well, you know, Run for the Wall is It's actually
• 32:07
Speaker 11: one of my favorite events that comes through, you know,
• 32:11
Speaker 11: to Hurricane every year. It stops in Hurricane every other year.
• 32:15
Speaker 11: We share this with with Nitro as well. But this
• 32:17
Speaker 11: year the Run for the Wall. Uh, those folks, all
• 32:20
Speaker 11: those veterans on motorcycles will roll into Hurricane the day
• 32:24
Speaker 11: about between five and five thirty. And this is an
• 32:28
Speaker 11: annual event where these these riders, they start in Ontario,
• 32:33
Speaker 11: California and ride all the way across the United States.
• 32:37
Speaker 11: There's three three groups of people that do it and
• 32:41
Speaker 11: of course they all end up converging at the at the.
• 32:44
  Speaker 6: Wall in d C.
• 32:46
Speaker 11: This this Memorial Day weekend, it's very special. You know,
• 32:49
Speaker 11: they ride for those who can't and and it's just
• 32:52
Speaker 11: a special thing and and you know Memorial Day it's
• 32:57
Speaker 11: so special to me. It's uh, you know, we all
• 33:00
Speaker 11: we all need to remember. We mourn in honor, you know,
• 33:03
Speaker 11: those that are deceased servicemen and women, those that have
• 33:07
Speaker 11: fought for us in the US military that have died.
• 33:09
Speaker 11: And that's what this weekend's all about. And in Hurricane
• 33:12
Speaker 11: it starts today, you know when these writers come into
• 33:15
Speaker 11: town and you know they'll exit the Hurricane exit about
• 33:18
Speaker 11: between five and five thirty, and we hope to have
• 33:21
Speaker 11: hundreds or even thousands of people out along the sidewalks
• 33:24
Speaker 11: all the way to Valley Park. Waving flags and again
• 33:27
  Speaker 11: it's just a special it's a special day for us.
• 33:30
Speaker 3: And again you mentioned that you kind of share this
• 33:33
Speaker 3: with NITRO. It's you know, it goes on a year
• 33:35
Speaker 3: to year basis, and folks at NITRO do a great
• 33:36
Speaker 3: job as well. And I've been to both events. I
• 33:38
Speaker 3: started attending this event when I first moved to Hurricane,
• 33:41
Speaker 3: which was in twenty fourteen, And the only and the
• 33:43
Speaker 3: reason I did it then was because my dad. As
• 33:45
Speaker 3: people listeners know, my father was a Vietnam veteran who
• 33:48
Speaker 3: died of Agent Orange poisoning later in life that he
• 33:51
Speaker 3: contracted during his time in Vietnam. So it's always been
• 33:54
Speaker 3: something very special to be I'm going to be there
• 33:56
Speaker 3: this evening with our sister Station ninety eight seven, a
• 33:58
Speaker 3: Mountain Roby who's also a veteran, not quite that old,
• 34:02
Speaker 3: but Rob's going to be there from ninety six to
• 34:04
Speaker 3: one k WS and we're looking forward to being a
• 34:06
Speaker 3: part of the festivities this evening as well. So the
• 34:09
Speaker 3: riders are gonna get off on the Hurricane Accent and
• 34:12
Speaker 3: they're going to roll in I'm sorry, yes, yeah, and.
• 34:15
Speaker 11: They'll be coming. They'll be coming from the west. They'll
• 34:18
Speaker 11: get off the Hurricane exit, go hang a left on
• 34:21
Speaker 11: Tays Valley Road and all that has sidewalks so people
• 34:24
Speaker 11: can can wave there. And that's what they that's what's
• 34:26
Speaker 11: so special for those riders to see that we in
• 34:28
Speaker 11: Hurricane and Putnam County. And I don't care if you
• 34:31
Speaker 11: live in in Milton or Nitro or Charleston, wherever, Barbersville,
• 34:35
Speaker 11: come on up the Hurricane. Uh, if you love America,
• 34:38
Speaker 11: come on up to Hurricane right and get a flag.
• 34:40
Speaker 11: And we're actually giving away small flags at Hurricane City
• 34:43
Speaker 11: Hall all day to day. Uh, you know through five o'clock.
• 34:46
Speaker 11: You can go through the utility drive through. We'll hang
• 34:48
Speaker 11: in some flags and wave those flags. And it's it's
• 34:51
Speaker 11: just gonna be so special. And then once they get
• 34:54
Speaker 11: into the park in the Valley Park, you know, we'll
• 34:57
Speaker 11: be feeding them and uh, they'll be staying there for
• 35:00
Speaker 11: the evening, a lot of them. But people, you know,
• 35:03
Speaker 11: don't you don't just have to go home after you
• 35:05
Speaker 11: await the flags. You can. But I always like to
• 35:08
Speaker 11: tell people, bring your children, those small children, bring them
• 35:12
Speaker 11: into Valley Park. Talk to the veterans. They have so many,
• 35:17
Speaker 11: so many special stories to tell you and they're so
• 35:19
Speaker 11: good with kids, and the kids today need to hear
• 35:23
Speaker 11: these stories. They need to hear it right from a
• 35:26
Speaker 11: veteran and they will tell stories, and they're so good
• 35:28
Speaker 11: with kids and adults. I mean, I've learned so much
• 35:31
Speaker 11: from these folks over the years and it's absolutely amazing.
• 35:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think that you know, as a mom
• 35:37
Speaker 3: and dad or grandparent, maybe you ought to take the
• 35:39
Speaker 3: kid up there and you see that guy over there
• 35:41
Speaker 3: with some aige on him. The reason that you have
• 35:43
Speaker 3: that phone that you have in your hand is because
• 35:45
Speaker 3: of that guy, you know, And if nothing else, you
• 35:47
Speaker 3: need to go thank them and just say thank you
• 35:50
Speaker 3: for the sacrifices that you made, that your families, that
• 35:52
Speaker 3: your brothers and many of whom did not come home,
• 35:55
Speaker 3: many are still missing. And we talk about that story
• 35:59
Speaker 3: on the air all of the time. So what about
• 36:01
Speaker 3: the traffic situation, because I mean, we got to throw
• 36:04
Speaker 3: that in there. We battled traffic all this week in
• 36:05
Speaker 3: Charleston with the bike covent. But you know Tay's Valley Road,
• 36:08
Speaker 3: I live right off of it, and you don't hear
• 36:10
Speaker 3: me complaining about the traffic there, because I think that's
• 36:13
Speaker 3: a good thing. But at that time of evening, it
• 36:15
Speaker 3: always gets a little backed up, or are you prepared
• 36:18
Speaker 3: for the traffic there?
• 36:19
Speaker 11: It does? Yesterday was nowhere near like it has been.
• 36:23
Speaker 11: They had been doing a lot of work on the interstate.
• 36:26
Speaker 11: So I'm hoping that's not happening today because that forced
• 36:29
Speaker 11: a lot of people onto tes Valley Road. But the bikers,
• 36:33
Speaker 11: we will get them right through. Everything will we'll take
• 36:36
Speaker 11: care of it. And and even if people have to
• 36:38
Speaker 11: wait a few minutes, Hey, that's okay. These uh, these
• 36:41
Speaker 11: veterans on these motorcycles are are super special, like you said,
• 36:46
Speaker 11: you know, especially to the young kids. Hey, that's why
• 36:48
Speaker 11: you have that iPhone near your hand. That that's why
• 36:50
Speaker 11: I was had a chance to be in an election
• 36:53
Speaker 11: and voted in as mayor. You know, these folks and
• 36:56
Speaker 11: all the folks that fought for our country and died
• 37:01
Speaker 11: for our country are the reason why we're here today
• 37:03
Speaker 11: and doing the things we're doing. We're free to talk
• 37:05
Speaker 11: about whatever we want to today on the air. And
• 37:08
Speaker 11: that's amazing and it's because of them.
• 37:11
Speaker 3: And so they'll stand down there tonight in Valley Park
• 37:14
Speaker 3: and then they'll head to Charleston after that, right, and
• 37:17
Speaker 3: then they'll continue and as he said, it all wraps
• 37:19
Speaker 3: up Memorial Day in DC. Mayor Edwards, you know, you
• 37:23
Speaker 3: folks just do a fantastic job, as does Mayor case
• 37:25
Speaker 3: Bold and Joe and all the folks in Nitro when
• 37:27
Speaker 3: they have it there. Everybody kind of works together on
• 37:29
Speaker 3: this thing. And do you talk to these bikers, man,
• 37:32
Speaker 3: they love coming to West Virginia.
• 37:34
Speaker 11: They love it, and they've told us for years. And
• 37:37
Speaker 11: I hope they don't tell every stop this, but they
• 37:39
Speaker 11: but no, they always say that this is West Virginia
• 37:43
Speaker 11: is so welcoming. So many other places they stop across
• 37:46
Speaker 11: the country, they don't get to welcome that we give them.
• 37:49
Speaker 11: And it's known that West Virginia's we're always like this.
• 37:52
Speaker 11: We're open, we're welcome. We wave, we welcome them in
• 37:55
Speaker 11: and bring them in and give them a hug and
• 37:58
Speaker 11: whatever they need. But but we do that. And I
• 38:01
Speaker 11: hope that today we come out in force and show.
• 38:04
Speaker 6: It again, you know.
• 38:04
Speaker 11: And sometimes so many people don't come out and then
• 38:07
Speaker 11: they'll say, man, I wish I would have done that.
• 38:09
Speaker 11: I'm like, well it will be two more years, like
• 38:12
Speaker 11: today's the day to do it, not not two years
• 38:14
Speaker 11: from now, but today's the day and real quick before
• 38:17
Speaker 11: I forget huge shout out to Steve McGrath and his

• 38:40
Speaker 11: the volunteers. It's amazing, you know what all this comes together.
• 38:45
Speaker 11: But Steve McGrath and his whole team of people, absolutely

Speaker 11: amazing group of volunteers.

• 40:33
Speaker 3: will say, and this may make some of you a
• 40:36
Speaker 3: little bit angry, I will say this. As taxpayers, you
• 40:39
Speaker 3: have a right to know how your money is being
• 40:40
Speaker 3: spent on every program. And I understand what the texture
• 40:45
Speaker 3: there is is saying, but wealthy people pay taxes matters
• 40:49
Speaker 3: a matter of fact, they pay the majority of the taxes,
• 40:51
Speaker 3: so they have a right to at least question and
• 40:54
Speaker 3: ask for and just to ask questions about how the
• 40:56
Speaker 3: money is being spent. Texas, I think are veteran on
• 41:00
Speaker 3: state government is a problem of being run by people
• 41:02
Speaker 3: completely detached from the realities on the ground most people

• 41:52
Speaker 3: This is not a political event, Manu, stretch of the imagination.
• 41:55
Speaker 3: I will say this, though I do spend a lot
• 41:56
Speaker 3: of time talking to veterans, many of whom do support
• 42:00
Speaker 3: President Trump. I also spend a lot of time talking
• 42:04
Speaker 3: to veterans who do not support Donald Trump. And it's
• 42:09
Speaker 3: it's interesting to me, it seems like, and this is
• 42:13
Speaker 3: very antidotal evidence, but it seems to me like the
• 42:15
Speaker 3: older veterans of a lot, not not saying all, but
• 42:20
Speaker 3: a lot of the Vietnam era veterans are the ones
• 42:23
Speaker 3: that have the biggest problem with President Trump, mainly because
• 42:28
Speaker 3: he and others on both sides of the out chows
• 42:30
Speaker 3: not to go and put their lives on the line
• 42:33
Speaker 3: like they did. And maybe that's why. Maybe you know
• 42:36
Speaker 3: that generation the sixties and seventies tended to be even
• 42:39
Speaker 3: if they were in the military, tend to be a
• 42:41
Speaker 3: little bit more liberal anyway in some of their other
• 42:45
Speaker 3: thought processes. So I just think it's interesting to somebody
• 42:47
Speaker 3: who spends a lot of time volunteering for veterans services,
• 42:50
Speaker 3: particularly Vietnam, that there are a lot of Vietnam era
• 42:53
Speaker 3: veterans that don't have a lot of respect for President

Speaker 3: There's gonna be more eyes than normal on the high
• 46:41
Speaker 3: school track and field championships as Becky Pepper Jackson, who
• 46:45
Speaker 3: is a biological boy who has been identified who has
• 46:48
Speaker 3: rather identified as a girl since the third grade, has
• 46:51
Speaker 3: secured two spots in the state championships. She or he
• 46:59
Speaker 3: is a fresh at Bridgeport High where state law says
• 47:02
Speaker 3: the biological boys can't compete with girls in sports. The
• 47:05
Speaker 3: law though currently on hold under an injunction that says
• 47:10
Speaker 3: the state can enforce that law against this kid because
• 47:13
Speaker 3: the case was under a previous injunction. Judge said Joseph
• 47:16
Speaker 3: Goodwin is judge in that case. The state meet ladley
• 47:19
Speaker 3: Field Friday and Saturday. We've got a story about it
• 47:21
Speaker 3: posted at wv metronews dot com. We knock out a
• 47:25
Speaker 3: couple of texts. Majority of Vietnam veterans support Trump asked
• 47:30
Speaker 3: him about their thoughts on John Kerry or Hanoid Jane.
• 47:34
Speaker 3: More than one thing can be right at the same
• 47:35
Speaker 3: time too. I can tell you. I can tell you
• 47:38
Speaker 3: one Vietnam veteran who has absolutely nothing for Donald Trump
• 47:44
Speaker 3: and who had also had absolutely nothing for Bill Clinton either.
• 47:49
Speaker 3: So consistency Tex says Dave West. Virginia is going to
• 47:53
Speaker 3: lose at least a billion dollars in federal dollars has
• 47:55
Speaker 3: been allocated to the state, and our representatives are just
• 47:58
Speaker 3: going to let happen. TJ. Meadows, who's perfectly happy to
• 48:03
Speaker 3: set by, set back and watch things happen, but then
• 48:06
Speaker 3: he writes commentaries and makes everybody mad. Why are you
• 48:09
Speaker 3: making people mad now? So I wrote a piece. Yesterday.
• 48:13
Speaker 15: Christy nom testified before a Senate committee, and she was
• 48:18
Speaker 15: asked a very simple question, what is habeas corpus. She
• 48:22
Speaker 15: proceeded to say that it was a right, a constitutional
• 48:27
Speaker 15: right that the president had to deport people from this country.
• 48:31
Speaker 15: That's not what habeas corpus is. She was corrected in
• 48:36
Speaker 15: that she was told that habeas corpus is the government's
• 48:42
Speaker 15: duty to explain why they are publicly jailing someone, to
• 48:47
Speaker 15: put it in simple terms, after the body, before the body.
• 48:53
Speaker 15: I wrote about that, and some people thought that I
• 48:57
Speaker 15: was picking on her. I'm sorry. The Secretary of Homeland
• 49:05
Speaker 15: Security who oversees ice, whose job it is to deport people,
• 49:11
Speaker 15: and look, if you are here illegally, you should be deported.
• 49:13
Speaker 15: I said that very plainly in the commentary that person
• 49:17
Speaker 15: should have an understanding of one of the bed rock
• 49:20
Speaker 15: foundational principles of our government and one of the protections
• 49:24
  Speaker 15: of the people.
• 49:25
Speaker 3: Sorry, and you do have those protections, whether you're here
• 49:28
Speaker 3: legally or really correct process. And that's what I think
• 49:31
Speaker 3: some people don't understand. Because I read the text that
• 49:35
Speaker 3: you get, I read the text that I get. People
• 49:37
Speaker 3: will say they have no rights because they're here illegally.
• 49:40
Speaker 3: That's not what the constitution says. Whether you like it
• 49:43
Speaker 3: or not. If you don't like it, go change the law,
• 49:45
Speaker 3: you know, but they do have that they have every
• 49:47
Speaker 3: right as an American citizen if they're on US soil.
• 49:50
  Speaker 3: That's the law.
• 49:52
Speaker 15: Habeas corpus goes back to the twelve hundreds part of
• 49:56
Speaker 15: common English law English common law that says, Look, you
• 49:59
Speaker 15: can't throw somebody in jail, lock them up, throw away
• 50:02
Speaker 15: the key. You have to tell them why you're jailing them.
• 50:05
Speaker 15: I mean, it's that simple, whether they are a citizen
• 50:08
Speaker 15: or not, due process, whether they are a citizen or not.
• 50:11
Speaker 3: All right, So what do you think about the governor yesterday?
• 50:14
Speaker 3: He's going after your mountain dew? You're not. You're not
• 50:16
Speaker 3: a soda drinker, though, are you? I love coke? Oh yeah,
• 50:19
Speaker 3: I drink coke all the time.
• 50:20
Speaker 15: I don't know how the birds are going to get
• 50:22
Speaker 15: so high without that kid old mountain dew. I mean,
• 50:24
Speaker 15: that's my number one concern. Look personally, where I'm at
• 50:28
Speaker 15: on this. We wanted work requirements around Snap benefits. We
• 50:32
Speaker 15: tried to pass that legislation. It failed. This is a
• 50:36
Speaker 15: way to backdoor it to say people can't have mountain
• 50:40
Speaker 15: dew and different things. I'd rather see the work requirements.
• 50:43
Speaker 15: If you're worried about the people that are on Snap
• 50:45
Speaker 15: and you think they're abusing Snap, put work requirements, put
• 50:49
Speaker 15: some kind of control on the program that ensures that
• 50:54
Speaker 15: they're not just milking the system. And if you can't
• 50:56
Speaker 15: get that through the legislature, don't try to say, oh,
• 50:59
Speaker 15: we're trying to make PEP healthy and all this.
• 51:01
Speaker 3: No. I mean, you're trying to get people off SNAP,
• 51:03
Speaker 3: which I'm fine with, but just admit what you're doing.
• 51:06
Speaker 3: It seems to me though, and you can play Devil's
• 51:08
Speaker 3: advocate here, and I'm gonna get into this on the
• 51:10
Speaker 3: Midday Show a little bit later on. It seems to
• 51:12
Speaker 3: me though, that we have yet another example of things
• 51:17
Speaker 3: that probably don't go through the legislature, but we're going
• 51:19
Speaker 3: to try a different approach to it, and the next
• 51:22
Speaker 3: governor can undo it that easily. Yeah, yeah, And look,
• 51:26
Speaker 3: in his defense, he's not the only governor asking for this.
• 51:29
Speaker 3: Other governors are asking for waivers from the Feds as well.
• 51:32
Speaker 3: But again, I'm a straight shooter. We want less people
• 51:37
Speaker 3: on SNAP, fine, then put work requirements, put better controls.
• 51:42
Speaker 3: Don't try to backdoor it by taking away Mountain dew.
• 51:45
Speaker 3: But I do think that as a taxpayer, no matter
• 51:47
Speaker 3: whether you're an elected division or not, you do have
• 51:49
Speaker 3: a right to question how your money's being so sure, absolutely,
• 51:53
Speaker 3: but I wouldn't let it stop there.
• 51:54
Speaker 15: There's a whole lot of just say we're tired of
• 51:56
  Speaker 15: spending this money.
• 51:58
Speaker 3: People are milking the system. You're going to take it away.
• 52:00
Speaker 3: Don't blame it on health. That's nothing to do with health.
• 52:03
Speaker 3: All right, you gotta leave it there, mister Meadows, mister Wilson,
• 52:06
Speaker 3: coming up Metro News talk Line ten o six here
