- 17:47Speaker 2: He had like ten guys. The blimp opened up.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I said, Man, I had waters, I had Man. I
- 17:55Speaker 1: never got no. I just had man. He did his
- 17:59Speaker 1: arm don't even go down man man like and waris.
- 18:06Speaker 1: My mom gave us a Walrus like it was just
- 18:08Speaker 1: a Walris. It wasn't even an actual figure. It was
- 18:10Speaker 1: just like a big walrus. It was like you say,
- 18:13Speaker 1: they don't be on cartoons. Karate man, fighting man, army man,
- 18:22Speaker 1: No gun no pose, no kneecaps. You can't do nothing
- 18:31Speaker 1: with man just and brought it home. Loose, no no box.
- 18:36Speaker 1: He go this man, where'd you get a loose where'd
- 18:40Speaker 1: you get a loose man from?
- 18:43Speaker 2: You don't have nothing. He got a little military haircut.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Hm.
- 18:51Speaker 2: This karate man. And then this is this is regular man.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Oh congo man, karate regular man handling this man.
- 19:04Speaker 4: They look at like a handshake businessman. You got a
- 19:08Speaker 4: briefcase in the hands.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Was the same man at different post. What am I
- 19:12Speaker 1: finna do with this? What can I do with this?
- 19:14Speaker 2: In Walris and that Walls is like huge wal.
- 19:21Speaker 4: You got the Walllris. I already know he like sitting.
- 19:24Speaker 4: You know, Walris is just blah blah.
- 19:26Speaker 2: It was Walls. He can't fight. Me and my brother
- 19:29Speaker 2: used to play football. We just throw me at each
- 19:31Speaker 2: other like man. Waters can block.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Because Wallris was heavier than the other man. It's like,
- 19:37Speaker 1: you can't fight with this. You can't fight a man
- 19:39Speaker 1: who do this. With a man who do this. That
- 19:42Speaker 1: guy can't do nothing. No cartoon, no uniform. He just
- 19:46Speaker 1: got white suit with red edges. Like man, you know this,
- 19:51Speaker 1: don't go to nothing that's on TV. And then I
- 19:54Speaker 1: found out all those cartoons were just to sell toys.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I don't even know where my mom was giving these,
- 20:00Speaker 1: getting these toys from. I never got one g I Joe,
- 20:06Speaker 1: Oh attack Man. One time my dad got me a
- 20:14Speaker 1: Batman and a coop. It was Batman and a coop
- 20:17Speaker 1: and he the Batman part was open and it had
- 20:20Speaker 1: no Batman, and I just had the coop and I
- 20:23Speaker 1: was like, where's the Batman. He was like, if you
- 20:24Speaker 1: don't like it, I'll throw it away.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I just.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It's said. It's said. Batman came in and it's open.
- 20:33Speaker 2: The coop was cool too, but you.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Got to put regular man in man stuff, and now
- 20:38Speaker 1: the top doesn't Now the coop won't close because because
- 20:41Speaker 1: Man is this big, the Batman supposed to be small,
- 20:45Speaker 1: so you're trying to put all that. I closed the
- 20:48Speaker 1: roof of the coop all the way to the man
- 20:50Speaker 1: to hold him in there.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I was like, oh.
- 20:54Speaker 4: My god, you getting these from where?
- 20:58Speaker 2: You getting half used toys? Man? And I hate it. Man.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I was so sad. It was it was almost there
- 21:07Speaker 1: and the cooper was brand new. It was great, all right,
- 21:11Speaker 1: let's finish with this. Oh I forgot about this. This
- 21:13Speaker 1: is a good one. Albums that would make good movies Okay,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I don't know if I have a lot of them,
- 21:21Speaker 1: but I have a few that I feel very strongly about.
- 21:24Speaker 2: You want to go first, you getting Mad City?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I wish John it was a lot City though, that
- 21:39Speaker 3: Mad City Man that was cinematic.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You got it would be such a good movie, man
- 21:48Speaker 1: Hood classic. I don't know why it's not done yet.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I feel like it might be eventually. Chal Madic probably
- 21:55Speaker 1: could direct it good. He works with Kendrick a lot.
- 21:57Speaker 1: John Singleton would have been perfect for it, like he
- 22:00Speaker 1: got that La culture, good kid. Matt City is such
- 22:02Speaker 1: a well told story.
- 22:04Speaker 4: If Gary Gray might do a good job.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I could see that. Yeah, I could see that. He
- 22:11Speaker 2: knows the streets.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yes, that's my favorite one. That's the whole reason I
- 22:15Speaker 1: thought of the things. So thanks for taking there.
- 22:21Speaker 4: There.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Control by jam by Sissa oh
- 22:28Speaker 2: oh Okay.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Sister is a world renowned singer, songwriter, storyteller. The girl
- 22:35Speaker 1: who honestly control or s o s. But I feel
- 22:39Speaker 1: like control is like I'm with her in the journey
- 22:44Speaker 1: of like young women making mistakes of love, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: like because it's fumbles.
- 22:50Speaker 4: When you listen to her albums, man.
- 22:53Speaker 3: There's so many different versions of women. Yes, within the
- 22:58Speaker 3: same album. Yes, I know women be like I want
- 23:00Speaker 3: to be empowered. But the reality is, some days you're
- 23:03Speaker 3: gonna be insecure. Ye, some days you're not gonna be
- 23:06Speaker 3: sure yourself. Some days you gonna fuck up and do
- 23:08Speaker 3: some shit that's out of your character, and then you
- 23:10Speaker 3: come I don't know while I was doing that, I
- 23:12Speaker 3: don't know why I was inside check. Yeah, I was confident,
- 23:15Speaker 3: but I was insecure at the same time. She'd be
- 23:17Speaker 3: encompassing all.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Of that vulnerability and authenticity. To me, is her superpower.
- 23:22Speaker 1: That's why nobody else's music sounds like her exactly. I
- 23:25Speaker 1: don't think people be willing to be like nonigg I
- 23:28Speaker 1: did that I'd made mistakes.
- 23:29Speaker 4: She'd be talking about all that and take me back.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Even though you're gonna block me, come pick me up.
- 23:34Speaker 2: That's life, that's real. That's real. People be picking the
- 23:37Speaker 2: wrong man, and they gotta to deal with the consequences.
- 23:40Speaker 2: People be picking the wrong woman.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That vulnerability in her music be like, I want to
- 23:44Speaker 1: see a coming of age and I want to see
- 23:46Speaker 1: her triumphant at the end. You know, which more of
- 23:49Speaker 1: so os and her granny talking to her at the air.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Got to figure it out eventually.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I'm this twenty something right now, I'm just doing this.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I'm fumbling. I'm doing and like, I think that's dope
- 24:02Speaker 3: and that's what makes her stand out. It's not all
- 24:07Speaker 3: just drama with the x's and it's not all like, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 3: we're strong women out here, we're making the right decisions.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah you want to hear that sometimes, but sometimes this
- 24:16Speaker 3: ship ain't going down, Like, yes, I'm insecure today. Yes
- 24:21Speaker 3: tomorrow I might be talking ship. I might not need
- 24:23Speaker 3: you'll look good right now, But sometimes I look good
- 24:25Speaker 3: me in the mirror.
- 24:27Speaker 2: That's Tony, I promise you.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I look If I Josh catch a picture of me
- 24:31Speaker 1: on a breathing on a joke black shirt, like can
- 24:34Speaker 1: you losing weight from the front now he catched me
- 24:38Speaker 1: on a breathe out and the gray shirt, I'd be like.
- 24:40Speaker 2: You Walrus, was you breathe.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Out sweat under here? Same same weekend? I'd be like,
- 24:51Speaker 1: who is this? Sometimes I'd be like, okay.
- 24:52Speaker 5: KeV man o.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Man drop.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Then I don't I like myself in most photos?
- 25:02Speaker 4: Really?
- 25:03Speaker 3: Absolutely not? Really, I would say it's twenty percent of
- 25:06Speaker 3: the time. Be like, yeah, twenty.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Percent, absolutely interesting. Yeah, don't. I don't think i'm photo Jenny.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I think you take great pictures.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I'd be like, I hate, I hate well, I wish
- 25:21Speaker 1: I could never take a headshot again. Oh man, I'll
- 25:23Speaker 1: be Jimmy Carter in that same headshot with the blue suit.
- 25:28Speaker 3: It'd be so hard to get right Mann that that
- 25:31Speaker 3: picture they done shows with Donald Trump's main picture. It's
- 25:35Speaker 3: why he looked like the most evil man of all
- 25:38Speaker 3: time with that lighting, like he's telling campfire.
- 25:41Speaker 6: Stories and it turns out the bodies was down the
- 25:45Speaker 6: street and then.
- 25:45Speaker 4: He put the up underneath what he said they were
- 25:50Speaker 4: killing people and serving the meats.
- 25:54Speaker 3: And get the care like, oh I hate that picture
- 25:58Speaker 3: of him. Man, that's what you try. I mean the
- 26:01Speaker 3: bullshit had been doing mass a picture. It's a different podcast.
- 26:07Speaker 3: But yes, Control would be fantastic. Uh, I'm gonna go well.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Illmatic is my favorite album, so ill Madic would be
- 26:17Speaker 3: a straight because nas is already a visual storyteller. So
- 26:22Speaker 3: even when you listen to Ellmatic, you can see New
- 26:25Speaker 3: York at that time, you can feel it, you can
- 26:27Speaker 3: smell it, you can smell, the subway to sidewalks, all
- 26:30Speaker 3: of that. You can the sidewalk cracks everything, the gum
- 26:34Speaker 3: on the sidewalk, bloodstains, violence, everything is painted vividly in
- 26:38Speaker 3: that picture. He did an element of that in Belly,
- 26:41Speaker 3: But I feel like a whole Ellmatic movie would just
- 26:45Speaker 3: be fire. Yes, because he did that element when he
- 26:48Speaker 3: was talking to that little boy on the bench and
- 26:50Speaker 3: the projects that was taken directly from Illmatic.
- 26:53Speaker 2: So yes, all in Illmatic. Absolutely, I'm gonna go college dropout.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I had everything to I would love.
- 27:01Speaker 1: A story of a you know that version of Kanye
- 27:05Speaker 1: is pre made it Kanye big dreams, scrappy, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 1: trying to make it.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Got to drop from college or whatever.
- 27:14Speaker 4: We never see the.
- 27:15Speaker 2: College drop never seen it.
- 27:17Speaker 4: There's a lot of college I love.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Common college drop up. You are. I want to see
- 27:22Speaker 2: you three.
- 27:23Speaker 7: I did like seven, but you did more than you
- 27:28Speaker 7: did more than in college for like a decade. Even
- 27:31Speaker 7: I was not that I was changing my majors a lot.
- 27:34Speaker 7: Man time was hard.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I didn't know what was going on when I got
- 27:36Speaker 3: kicked out that was on academic probation. Was getting had
- 27:39Speaker 3: to stop back in You know what I'm saying, I
- 27:43Speaker 3: just had to add the family, had kids, just had
- 27:46Speaker 3: a lot going on.
- 27:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, because I have the money
- 27:50Speaker 1: that I.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Was in college for long ass time, I couldn't get
- 27:52Speaker 3: it together. I couldn't get my directions going.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Man, it was all over the place.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Man.
- 27:55Speaker 2: You know, you know when I think about that what
- 27:57Speaker 2: you say.
- 27:59Speaker 1: As a parent, my biggest fears is like, man, my
- 28:01Speaker 1: kid's gonna like, You're gonna have to get a job,
- 28:04Speaker 1: You're gonna have to do stuff. But some people don't
- 28:06Speaker 1: figure it out right away. Like you didn't figure it
- 28:09Speaker 1: out right away. You didn't figure out during You didn't
- 28:11Speaker 1: figure out. You said you were like thirty something right
- 28:15Speaker 1: like you was you was You was farting around.
- 28:18Speaker 2: What messing what messed up?
- 28:20Speaker 3: My whole sense of direction was at I didn't go
- 28:23Speaker 3: for what I really wanted from the jump for college.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I've always known I wanted to act.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yes, I was a.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Child, I knew this, and I'm doing other stuff. I'm like,
- 28:35Speaker 3: I'm graduating from high school. I don't know what I
- 28:36Speaker 3: want to go to car now. I guess I could
- 28:38Speaker 3: do psychology.
- 28:39Speaker 4: That sounds I'm.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Fartening around experience with bullshit.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Instead of just going straight in the theater and just
- 28:46Speaker 3: knocking that ship out, I'm going through the motions and
- 28:49Speaker 3: trying to do other shit.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yep, that's what.
- 28:51Speaker 3: And then I'm not invested in the classes. I'm just
- 28:54Speaker 3: hanging out, you know, still being creative outside.
- 28:57Speaker 4: I'm killing the creativity for sure, but.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I'm in class. I was like, oh, man, I don't
- 29:01Speaker 3: know what I'm doing. I'm failing chemistry twice. I'm just
- 29:03Speaker 3: taking f after f after astronomy a stad like, oh astronomy,
- 29:08Speaker 3: man boom. But then, so that's what messed me up.
- 29:13Speaker 3: If I were stayed in the theater from the job,
- 29:17Speaker 3: I have breezed on through that. New Mexico State have
- 29:20Speaker 3: a good theater program.
- 29:21Speaker 4: As far as I know.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's how I ended up in theater for
- 29:25Speaker 3: the first time. Was a play they were doing on campus,
- 29:28Speaker 3: and so let me audition and no, it was a
- 29:32Speaker 3: mice and man and I got the role of Crooks
- 29:36Speaker 3: and won an award. I was like, you want an
- 29:39Speaker 3: award the gate and the debut. It was award for
- 29:45Speaker 3: Best Supporting Performance or whatever.
- 29:46Speaker 2: What That didn't tip you off?
- 29:49Speaker 4: Well, that that's when I was like, oh, ship dang.
- 29:53Speaker 2: So when I did that, I was like.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Your first play basically, you know, the New Mexico State Tony.
- 30:00Speaker 4: And from that moment on, I was like, this is
- 30:02Speaker 4: what I was supposed to been doing.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah, And so I.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Did another play and another play, and I was like,
- 30:06Speaker 4: I'm moving to Cali.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Dang. But it took.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It took I'll tell you, what would you say? What
- 30:13Speaker 1: age were you where you feel like, Okay, I'm on
- 30:16Speaker 1: the right track. I know what i want to do
- 30:17Speaker 1: and I'm doing it.
- 30:20Speaker 4: So so I had that moment.
- 30:21Speaker 3: But then when I came to California, I was like,
- 30:24Speaker 3: I got done it by yeah, for sure. The scale
- 30:27Speaker 3: it was just like everybody came out here for this,
- 30:29Speaker 3: I'm doing extra work. So I got deflated again, but
- 30:33Speaker 3: I stayed on it. But it was still But once
- 30:36Speaker 3: I started doing stand up, that's when it was just.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Like and what age is that?
- 30:42Speaker 4: Thirty one?
- 30:45Speaker 3: Thirty yeah, thirty one. I think that's when I finally was.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Like direction, thirty one thirty one.
- 30:53Speaker 3: So when I see a lot of people in their twenties,
- 30:55Speaker 3: that's why I told Sincere. I told Sincere I was like, look, man,
- 30:59Speaker 3: you twenty. At this time, he was twenty two. I
- 31:03Speaker 3: was like, look, man, you already further than where I was.
- 31:07Speaker 3: At your aide, he was like, for really absolutely, because
- 31:12Speaker 3: you know, Shari went straight through. She was a nursing program.
- 31:14Speaker 3: She knew she wanted to be a nurse. She started
- 31:16Speaker 3: the nursing stuff in high school. Then boom, four years degree,
- 31:21Speaker 3: right into work.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Me. I'm like.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Grabbing sauces. I'm grabbing water. And they got the hot sauce.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I got the mild sauce. I got the pancakes, I
- 31:31Speaker 3: got chicken. I got stuff that don't even match up.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I got ling guinie, I got breakfast. I was all
- 31:37Speaker 3: over the place trying to figure it all out. But
- 31:39Speaker 3: I was like I told her to sale, like, look man,
- 31:41Speaker 3: you already have surpassed me in life because you you
- 31:44Speaker 3: graduated from college. I know, in this moment you're in
- 31:48Speaker 3: the fog of what do I do next? But you
- 31:51Speaker 3: already have passed me because you already attained something, you
- 31:56Speaker 3: completed something you did that. You got your degree fast
- 32:01Speaker 3: in four years. Now you can just you know, test
- 32:04Speaker 3: out where you want to go.
- 32:05Speaker 2: What was the moment that made you be like all right,
- 32:07Speaker 2: I'm done with.
- 32:08Speaker 3: College when because I was still trying to hang in
- 32:12Speaker 3: there with school. And then I was just like, once
- 32:16Speaker 3: I started doing the actor, once I did theater, because
- 32:18Speaker 3: I didn't think I would like theater. That's why I
- 32:19Speaker 3: never even attempted. Yeah, I want to do TV and film,
- 32:22Speaker 3: but I'm in.
- 32:23Speaker 4: New Mexico at that time. They wouldn't filming shit out.
- 32:25Speaker 2: There that ain't come.
- 32:27Speaker 4: So I was just like, man, it sucks and so so.
- 32:33Speaker 2: So.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Then when I did the play, I was like.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Yo, this is dope.
- 32:37Speaker 3: And then I did another play with the same director,
- 32:40Speaker 3: playing various characters in like a holiday play. And then
- 32:43Speaker 3: when I did Fences, I was like, I can memorize
- 32:46Speaker 3: a whole.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Book of yeah, plus the blocking, the blocking and everything,
- 32:51Speaker 2: I can rememory and lead it. I gotta go for
- 32:55Speaker 2: it when we get out of this college where I'm doing.
- 32:59Speaker 3: So I lost all fear for acting at that point
- 33:01Speaker 3: because I was like, man, I did this is hard.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I prefer the film is harder than me.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Peeps.

- 35:44Speaker 3: in a play than to do TV film because I
- 35:49Speaker 3: can keep the momentum of the character going.
- 35:53Speaker 2: It's straight through. Okay, it's not like you gotta get
- 35:55Speaker 2: there in the moment.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Don't do that cut, We're done, and then we straight through.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Gott know your lines were running through it bull audience
- 36:03Speaker 3: is right there. It's like I prefer that I can stay,
- 36:07Speaker 3: I can lock in better. Yeah, that's It's like he
- 36:10Speaker 3: is an emotional scene after lunch and then that just.
- 36:14Speaker 1: That when I had to do that kissing scene, I
- 36:18Speaker 1: was like, man, I just a yeah, like you know
- 36:21Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like it's tough, and then we were
- 36:24Speaker 1: just doing church. You're going from seeing the scene, you
- 36:26Speaker 1: gotta remember what you did. Like good acting, you should
- 36:30Speaker 1: remember what you did the scene for sure, right and
- 36:33Speaker 1: be in that moment. And it's hard when the scene
- 36:35Speaker 1: you just shot was from another episode at a different time.
- 36:38Speaker 1: It just happened to be in the same location. How
- 36:40Speaker 1: we were shooting by the theater when I was the
- 36:42Speaker 1: slave in Macbeth was slave boy, I would a slave.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but you get that straight, and you got a
- 36:50Speaker 2: lot of rehearsal time. Yeah. I love rehearsal. Yeah, I'm
- 36:55Speaker 2: rehearse more rehearsal scene in theater than you do it more.
- 36:58Speaker 2: They don't really rehearsal movies.
- 36:59Speaker 3: You like to run lines. Actors just want to be
- 37:02Speaker 3: talking about ship on the side. They like, yeah, my
- 37:05Speaker 3: favorite team is it. Man, let's run lines. They'll get
- 37:07Speaker 3: your lines together.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I love lines. I love running line. I love it, y'all.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Don't you don't have to hit the like button on
- 37:13Speaker 1: the on the live they don't do nothing. I appreciate
- 37:16Speaker 1: the love, but they don't. They don't do nothing unless
- 37:18Speaker 1: it's public, and I.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Don't think it even really does nothing anymore at all.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I don't I always say hit the like, but just.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, but definitely do nothing. Unlisted, they'd
- 37:27Speaker 1: be like, man, shut up, you get the like, but
- 37:28Speaker 1: all day, nothing gonna change. I think if you're on
- 37:30Speaker 1: the public, more likes the more shows. But on the
- 37:34Speaker 1: private they'd be like, man, watch y'all.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Oh gosh, yeah.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Me and Meliss was talking about that with our kids
- 37:38Speaker 1: because all the parents were just like, man, what are
- 37:40Speaker 1: our kids gonna do?
- 37:41Speaker 2: Are they gonna get a job? You know your first dream?
- 37:43Speaker 2: Is it gonna pan out? And all that type of stuff.
- 37:45Speaker 1: You don't know if you've done a good job with
- 37:47Speaker 1: them yet, right, But everybody don't figure it out.
- 37:49Speaker 2: I don't figure it out.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I just went to college to get a degree. I
- 37:52Speaker 1: just did sociology because they had the most classes. I liked,
- 37:55Speaker 1: no emotion, no, I just was like, I need a
- 37:57Speaker 1: degree to be able to get a job, right, And
- 37:59Speaker 1: I was like, what job I'm gonna get?
- 38:01Speaker 2: Who cares?
- 38:02Speaker 1: I just needed to And it turned out to be right,
- 38:05Speaker 1: Like gooing, you just needed to have a degree as
- 38:07Speaker 1: like a separating factor, didn't matter what it was in.
- 38:10Speaker 2: But people don't. It doesn't click right away everybody.
- 38:15Speaker 3: And that's that's what Sarain was struggling with too. Was
- 38:18Speaker 3: when he graduated from high school, he attempted college and
- 38:21Speaker 3: then he was like he really wasn't feeling it and
- 38:23Speaker 3: he faded out of football.
- 38:24Speaker 2: He wasn't feeling it no more.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Then he was, you know, working, trying to get jobs,
- 38:28Speaker 3: working in advance, working at McDonald's, working. Then he started
- 38:31Speaker 3: doing the security job, and then he was rapping. He
- 38:33Speaker 3: was making music like, he was all over the place.
- 38:35Speaker 3: And I was just like, you know, this is this
- 38:39Speaker 3: is the time for it. This is this this is
- 38:41Speaker 3: the time where we're trying to figure out what it is.
- 38:45Speaker 3: And I could tell, like, you know, it was bothering him,
- 38:48Speaker 3: and I was just like, you know, you know, we're
- 38:50Speaker 3: proud of you regardless. You know, it's just you know,
- 38:53Speaker 3: this is the time to figure stuff out.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because back in the day, we living on a farm. Yeah,
- 38:58Speaker 1: you work on the farm.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I don't.
- 39:01Speaker 1: There's nothing else, right, we farm, you till this farm.
- 39:05Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, that's the farm onto you.
- 39:08Speaker 2: But now, and I think this age, especially you know,
- 39:10Speaker 2: our kids, their generation, our parents generation, it was like
- 39:15Speaker 2: get a job, the good job, stay at that job,
- 39:18Speaker 2: never leave the job.
- 39:20Speaker 4: You going to the job, you hold on.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Forty years, you beat these kids, and you get that job,
- 39:28Speaker 1: retirement pinching from the company. And then millennials, we was
- 39:31Speaker 1: like na, man, for one k, I'm taking this with
- 39:34Speaker 1: me If I don't want this job, and then our
- 39:36Speaker 1: kids is like, what if I don't want.
- 39:37Speaker 2: A job at all? What if I want to be creative?
- 39:40Speaker 2: What is work? I don't, y'all, I don't.
- 39:45Speaker 4: They want to drive? He man, she'll left. What I
- 39:47Speaker 4: gotta learn how to drive?
- 39:49Speaker 3: For?
- 39:49Speaker 2: You gotta eat? I don't know what McKy gonna be?
- 39:52Speaker 2: What is time? What job?
- 39:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but you got to pay the bills. And that's
- 39:59Speaker 1: the like you grow up. We didn't want to work either, right,
- 40:04Speaker 1: but at some point you got to.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I still couldn't.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Wait to work, though, like when I was in high school.
- 40:09Speaker 3: I started working already in high school. I couldn't wait
- 40:11Speaker 3: to have a job because most.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Of our parents couldn't buy us stuff, the stuff we wanted,
- 40:16Speaker 1: like you gotta go out there and get it. But
- 40:18Speaker 1: now we could get our kids stuff. So they're like,
- 40:20Speaker 1: when mean work at a grocery store.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And I quit, I would quit in a heartbeat because
- 40:25Speaker 2: that's our generation. I've been work for this job.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Well, we want to do this job anyway, No two
- 40:33Speaker 1: weeks either, I'm going today, I was out.
- 40:36Speaker 4: I'm not coming.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I ain't. Even when I.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Quit that stocking job at the grocery store, he got
- 40:41Speaker 3: on me about something. Hey, man, you need to do this, this,
- 40:43Speaker 3: and the third. I finished my ship, never went back
- 40:49Speaker 3: to get you and him.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Never went back.
- 40:55Speaker 3: McDonalds wouldn't put me on that front counter. Y'all ain't
- 40:57Speaker 3: gonna put me on the front count. Give you my
- 41:00Speaker 3: two weeks right here, right now.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Two weeks, yeah, man, I want to be in the front.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Y'all can't do it.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Two weeks.
- 41:06Speaker 3: No other job lined up. I'm out, man. You don't
- 41:09Speaker 3: know what you got. You don't know what you got.
- 41:13Speaker 3: I worked at Village Inn for one day. My homegirl
- 41:17Speaker 3: career hooked me up with the job like your career
- 41:19Speaker 3: hooked me up at the village in Tony. I got
- 41:21Speaker 3: you in there, so I went in there. They put
- 41:23Speaker 3: me through the train and I was like, this is great, man,
- 41:25Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be cool. Hey, listen, Thanksgiving thats
- 41:27Speaker 3: coming up. I want to go to clothes to visit
- 41:29Speaker 3: my mom.
- 41:30Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 41:30Speaker 3: You think I can get some time off time on
- 41:32Speaker 3: you just starting You asked for time off in the holiday.
- 41:34Speaker 4: We can't do that. I went to visit my mom.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Never went back to Village Inn, and I ain't give
- 41:40Speaker 3: them no two weeks notice, no nothing. I ain't even
- 41:42Speaker 3: talked to career. I was just like, man, they wouldn't
- 41:45Speaker 3: give me Thanksgiving off.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I quit a job on the first dat, a work
- 41:50Speaker 1: study job working with at risk youth at a hood

- 46:54Speaker 3: Yeah, It's dark and Hell is Hot by d MX. Yes,
- 46:58Speaker 3: Forest Hills Drive by J Cole, End of the Wo
- 47:02Speaker 3: Tang thirty six Chambers, and Life After Death, Life after
- 47:06Speaker 3: Death and Ready to Die He.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Could be could both be movies.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna do I like ordinary get lifted
- 47:13Speaker 1: John Legend where he was in the great album f
- 47:17Speaker 1: boy phase of his life. That was a great yes,
- 47:19Speaker 1: but he got the family, he got the ordinary. Yeah
- 47:23Speaker 1: times and I'm gonna lifted to it on the way
- 47:27Speaker 1: Home album. Fantastic album, and it holds up my beautiful
- 47:32Speaker 1: dark tilsted fantasy Kanye Was. I feel like as an
- 47:36Speaker 1: artistic piece, it could be like I don't know what
- 47:40Speaker 1: story you tell, but yeah, losing his mind a little bit.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I feel like that'd be interesting. Hotels Jasmine Sullivan, Oh,
- 47:51Speaker 1: you could kind of be like for colored Girls in
- 47:53Speaker 1: the in the sense of like it's not necessarily just
- 47:56Speaker 1: one person's story. It's like a group of girlfriends, kind
- 47:59Speaker 1: of like going through life, you know, because the lessons
- 48:02Speaker 1: learned in the little snippets were like good life lessons
- 48:06Speaker 1: to learn. Uh.
- 48:08Speaker 3: I start saying hotels like places to stay. He's like hotels.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I was like Holliday or day longt Have you never
- 48:16Speaker 3: heard that album I'm listening to. I can't stick around
- 48:20Speaker 3: on it for hotel. Every time I try to go to.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Hotels, I leave you like the Tales of the Halls. Yeah.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Uh, for some reason, I just can't stay on the album.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I hit playing and I'm like, you know what this?
- 48:36Speaker 4: I go somewhere else.
- 48:39Speaker 3: And I like I like Jazzmine Sullivan's voice. But for
- 48:42Speaker 3: some reason, that album Don't Don't Snatch Me Up?
- 48:45Speaker 1: Really, that's one of my favorite pieces of work, exactly
- 48:47Speaker 1: the only album I listened to you straight up. Uh
- 48:50Speaker 1: Coloring Okay, so like Coloring Coloring Book because he talks
- 48:56Speaker 1: about the triumph from Uh ten Day and Acid Rap.
- 49:01Speaker 1: I feel like those three albums could be like a
- 49:05Speaker 1: good story.
- 49:06Speaker 2: That would be dope. Yah. I would love a visual
- 49:09Speaker 2: on that.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Oh man, I couldn't stop listening, I said, rap man,
- 49:13Speaker 1: he telling the real I just I really love it.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I'm all in uh Docie Alligator bites never hear. She
- 49:24Speaker 1: is a storyteller like Slick Rick, and she's the visuals
- 49:27Speaker 1: of Buster Rhymes and Missy but like the Nile's The
- 49:30Speaker 1: River is such a great story. But like who she is,
- 49:34Speaker 1: like the story she tells in that album and the creativity.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I feel like she could do some interesting stuff with that.
- 49:42Speaker 1: And I listen to that album all the time. She
- 49:45Speaker 1: is so dog on. I was so mad on Twitter
- 49:51Speaker 1: calling her Harriet Tubban Rap I'm like, man, let let's people.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Talk some talk. Last time people talk like that, they
- 49:57Speaker 2: get thrown on the grill.
- 49:59Speaker 3: They better watch out which you like, you're trying to
- 50:02Speaker 3: get the slaves free. I better watch your mouth because
- 50:07Speaker 3: at least don't you talking about something other than ass
- 50:10Speaker 3: and titties and getting money?
- 50:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 50:13Speaker 1: Album Man Storytelling Tang of the Banger's Tiny Desk.
- 50:17Speaker 2: That last song.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Where she talks about she talks about this New Orleans
- 50:25Speaker 1: post Katrina and connects it with love and the roller
- 50:28Speaker 1: coasters and.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I could tell.
- 50:32Speaker 1: It's so theat their Tiny Desk is my favorite. Nothing
- 50:35Speaker 1: ever compares to it because it's so theatrical, like they are.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Tank takes you through the light life and times of
- 50:43Speaker 1: a girl from New Orleans and love and all that stuff.
- 50:47Speaker 2: It would be good. So I would love that to
- 50:49Speaker 2: be an album. That's all. That's it. That's all that said.
- 50:53Speaker 1: That's all all right. We love y'all. Thanks for hanging
- 50:56Speaker 1: out with us Patreon. We've been here for over five hours.
- 50:59Speaker 1: We did seven episodes, including the Yeah we did do
- 51:02Speaker 1: something to come back at the bonus. We didn't even
- 51:04Speaker 1: think do the Super Bowl performances.
- 51:06Speaker 2: That's all right, I saw a video.
- 51:09Speaker 4: The side note, I saw a video.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Bill Bellaman was on the radio show and they were
- 51:14Speaker 3: talking about the five male top five male R and
- 51:16Speaker 3: B groups of all time.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Are they including back to the Temptations or like they.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Included like the Temptations those people giving the different lists.
- 51:25Speaker 3: I didn't like the disrespect on boys to.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Me, they have been getting disrespected lately. I'm not with it.
- 51:32Speaker 2: I'm not feeling it. I don't know music for squares
- 51:35Speaker 2: and stuff for ship they sewed well, they're well written songs.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Yes, they have vocal talent, and they still have the
- 51:45Speaker 3: vocal talent, no disrespect to people have lost their vocal talent, but.
- 51:49Speaker 2: All the R and B groups still got it.
- 51:53Speaker 3: I feel like you, they're not getting included, That's what

- 52:04Speaker 1: my homeboy because it was like thirty eight dollars in Vegas,
- 52:07Speaker 1: and I had good time until they handed out the roses.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Then it felt weird. I was like, I SHO, neither
- 52:11Speaker 2: came here.
- 52:11Speaker 1: With my homegirl, my girl or just by myself, but
- 52:15Speaker 1: my homeboy were just like you know, roses.
- 52:18Speaker 2: But other than that, I'm not feeling included. Who would

- 53:09Speaker 1: of their music. They got some songs, they guess because
- 53:11Speaker 1: for sure, but I don't know if it's enough for
- 53:13Speaker 1: me to be like Jacket Is All Time. Is kind
- 53:15Speaker 1: of tough on Jacket.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Edge for me.
