- 1:08Speaker 4: This is a podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football and
- 1:13Speaker 4: they all wear a whistle.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect? It's a
- 1:18Speaker 1: podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:20Speaker 2: 25 Whistles.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Hey, we're going up.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Who do you think had the worst weekend? I have
- 1:28Speaker 1: a couple options here. I have Matt Campbell because... Penn
- 1:32Speaker 1: State just got run by Northwestern. And then it's, hey,
- 1:37Speaker 1: James Franklin sucks. Let's fire him. And then Matt Campbell
- 1:39Speaker 1: comes and loses and loses. Brings his quarterback with him.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Bad news. I watched the game. The stadium looked really cool. Yeah,
- 1:46Speaker 1: the new one? Yeah, they have a massive stadium.
- 1:48Speaker 5: See their visitor locker room?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it looked like garbage. The only thing that I
- 1:54Speaker 1: thought about was state championship games or anything that's not
- 1:57Speaker 1: someone playing Northwestern. Somebody's got to get the crappy locker
- 2:00Speaker 1: room that doesn't deserve the crappy locker room.
- 2:02Speaker 5: That is true.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Because they use those facilities not all the time, but
- 2:06Speaker 1: occasionally for other big games. So, yeah, if you haven't
- 2:10Speaker 1: seen it, the Northwestern locker room is purple, smoke, fog,
- 2:14Speaker 1: state of the art, everything. And the other looks like
- 2:17Speaker 1: Mountain Pines Junior High locker room. So just not comfortable
- 2:20Speaker 1: in any way.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Wood.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Probably no AC in there.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Hard edges and angles on the wood. It's terrible. But
- 2:28Speaker 1: then I thought, man, what if it's like state championship
- 2:31Speaker 1: and the two schools are playing in the new stadium
- 2:32Speaker 1: and then one of the schools has to go into
- 2:34Speaker 1: the crap?
- 2:35Speaker 5: Yeah, do you guys flip a coin? Do you share
- 2:37Speaker 5: the home locker room?
- 2:38Speaker 4: That's good. Or who's closer in vicinity?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Nah, you couldn't do that.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Couldn't?
- 2:44Speaker 1: No, because that's unfair advantage based on where you live
- 2:47Speaker 1: because of proximity. But that's where my mind goes, as
- 2:50Speaker 1: to who has to get stuck with a bad locker room.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But the stadium looked really cool. Yeah. It's also wild
- 2:55Speaker 1: that Northwestern would have such a nice stadium because they're
- 2:58Speaker 1: traditionally not a great football program. Right. They did play
- 3:01Speaker 1: in the Rinna Stadium the last year for sure. I
- 3:05Speaker 1: don't know, about two years ago. But it was just
- 3:07Speaker 1: kind of built up there next to the water. It
- 3:09Speaker 1: was like a temporary. It reminds me of the Oakland A's,
- 3:13Speaker 1: how they're playing in that minor league stadium in Sacramento
- 3:17Speaker 1: until they get to Vegas.
- 3:18Speaker 5: But at least like the Northwestern one was by the water.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I mean, the A's in Sacramento is like in the
- 3:23Speaker 5: desert somewhere.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that sucks. So that's one of my suggestions for
- 3:29Speaker 1: worst of the weekend. My other one would be Tony
- 3:31Speaker 1: Romo who got fired, which I feel like from that story,
- 3:35Speaker 1: they just wanted to move on from him anyway. Because
- 3:38Speaker 1: they definitely didn't have to for a drinking and driving
- 3:41Speaker 1: charge where nobody got hurt. It's different if he's drunk
- 3:47Speaker 1: and he hits something and somebody dies. Or even goes
- 3:50Speaker 1: to the hospital. Yeah. And we don't want anybody drinking
- 3:53Speaker 1: and driving. Not saying that. But it's definitely different. Because
- 3:56Speaker 1: there are different charges for that. And also, he was
- 3:59Speaker 1: quite likable in his drunk video.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Didn't feel like a bad guy there.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But they fired him. They moved on. And they're going
- 4:08Speaker 1: to give him most of his money, I guess, which
- 4:10Speaker 1: is why it's not really making the news. Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: No.
- 4:14Speaker 5: I mean, you've dealt with the big contracts and celebrities
- 4:17Speaker 5: and stuff. Do you think this has anything else to
- 4:18Speaker 5: do with other than a DUI? Like, they wanted it.
- 4:20Speaker 5: They got out.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. They wanted out.
- 4:22Speaker 5: They were looking for a reason to get out. They
- 4:24Speaker 5: were done with them.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Any reason to get rid of them and move on,
- 4:28Speaker 1: they were going to take it. And this was that reason.
- 4:30Speaker 4: But is that why they waited so long so it
- 4:32Speaker 4: didn't look like that?
- 4:33Speaker 1: What do you mean waited so long?
- 4:34Speaker 4: I mean, because it... I mean, the DUI was.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It's still got to go to court. It's still got
- 4:39Speaker 1: to be, I don't know, stamped.
- 4:43Speaker 4: How much of it do you think is that J.J.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Watt's pretty good?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Probably a little bit, but I would say a majority
- 4:51Speaker 1: it didn't matter if they had found the person or
- 4:52Speaker 1: not because they could have found the person. Because J.J.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Watt's pretty good.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he's pretty good.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You don't make a whole change for somebody that's pretty good.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: You kick somebody out if somebody's really good, but if
- 5:04Speaker 1: you want somebody gone, you move them out. And then
- 5:07Speaker 1: hopefully you have somebody to replace him. And I feel
- 5:08Speaker 1: like they did. JJ Watt's fine.
- 5:11Speaker 5: How does Greg Olson just keep getting the short end here?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Well, Tom Brady's the death of Greg Olson. Right.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Well, that.
- 5:18Speaker 1: But his contract's coming over. And he works for Fox,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I guess. Yeah, his contract's coming over. And with that,
- 5:22Speaker 1: he could go over and take the Romo job.
- 5:23Speaker 5: I hope he does. I like Greg. JJ Watt's okay.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, he's fine. Yeah. But
- 5:28Speaker 1: Romo was revolutionary in that spot when he first started. Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Just started calling plays.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Predicting.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Then people started hating him.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Yeah, it was almost like one of those, everyone started
- 5:37Speaker 5: to love him so much that it's got to go
- 5:38Speaker 5: the other way at some point.
- 5:39Speaker 1: He had about four years and $ 72 million left on
- 5:42Speaker 1: his contract, and he's likely to keep most of it.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So that's what's up with Tony Romo.
- 5:46Speaker 4: That's nice.
- 5:46Speaker 1: So he's going to be paid, let's just say, roughly
- 5:48Speaker 1: $ 60 million to chill.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Dang.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Let's play golf. Let's bring him on.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Bring him on here.
- 5:53Speaker 1: He's got time. What does it feel like to get
- 5:55Speaker 1: fired for DUI?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Let me tell you, Bobby.
- 6:00Speaker 1: That's my biggest loser. You have a biggest loser?
- 6:02Speaker 5: Yeah, probably Michigan.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Michigan.
- 6:04Speaker 5: They're down pretty bad right now. I know that they
- 6:06Speaker 5: had that big early on Western Michigan crazy win, but
- 6:11Speaker 5: they're what? 0-2 in the Big Ten now. New coach.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Underwood is underwhelming.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Did you come up with that yourself or did you
- 6:18Speaker 1: hear that? Underwood's underwhelming? Is that a new headline? Hey,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you know, last week it was a unicorn. This week
- 6:24Speaker 1: it's Underwood's underwhelming.
- 6:25Speaker 4: You got better.
- 6:26Speaker 5: All weekend I was like, what can I come up
- 6:27Speaker 5: with better? It's Underwood is underwhelming. Michigan is 0-2 in
- 6:31Speaker 5: the Big Ten.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Addie?
- 6:34Speaker 4: I'll go Belichick. I mean, he's kind of like not
- 6:40Speaker 4: doing well over there ever since his son, problem with
- 6:42Speaker 4: his son or whatever. And I know it's North Carolina.
- 6:44Speaker 4: What are you going to do in North Carolina? But, man,
- 6:46Speaker 4: this just looks like trouble over there for him.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Virginia Tech, they're a big loser because that kick looked good.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Yeah, that was tough.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It was so close, though, that you really can't blame
- 6:57Speaker 1: the ref. I saw a bunch of angles. The one
- 6:59Speaker 1: angle I didn't see was far away straight on. I
- 7:02Speaker 1: saw a lot of angles from all different sides, even
- 7:05Speaker 1: from behind it. It looked like it went over the
- 7:08Speaker 1: top of the post. The kicker thought it was good.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Did you see the end of the game with the
- 7:12Speaker 1: kickers jumping up and down?
- 7:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And Virginia Tech lost the game. Speaking of James Franklin,
- 7:17Speaker 1: they lost the game. The kick looked good to me.
- 7:19Speaker 1: They're off to a good start.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Who?
- 7:22Speaker 5: Virginia Tech, compared to what they've been in the last decade.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they play in a weak conference.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it's true. It's pretty much Miami and everybody else.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Rough Saturday on my end. Arkansas gets drilled. 13th straight
- 7:35Speaker 1: SEC loss. I don't know. It was worse for us,
- 7:39Speaker 1: but also it was pretty bad for Florida. Who going
- 7:41Speaker 1: into the week? Possible national championship team. They had started
- 7:46Speaker 1: just running the ball down everyone's throats. They seemed a
- 7:49Speaker 1: bit undeniable. And then they lose to Missouri 45-17. Holy moly.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it. I didn't start watching the game
- 7:56Speaker 1: from the beginning. I started seeing the scores, and then
- 7:59Speaker 1: I put it up in the four-banger.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Four banger. Forget the multi-view.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You don't watch Four Banger? No, I love the Four Banger.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Same with Alabama-Mississippi State, where that really wasn't a game. Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 1: The whispers have been that the Mississippi State quarterback was sick.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Did you hear that?
- 8:17Speaker 5: Oh, I did not.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I don't know if those are whispers that you just
- 8:21Speaker 1: whisper because you lost so bad, but yeah, that was
- 8:24Speaker 1: what was up.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Did he play defense too? Because they got whooped.
- 8:27Speaker 1: They did get whooped. The Tennessee-Auburn game, Was pretty good.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You know, I thought Auburn was playing all right. I
- 8:35Speaker 1: thought the interesting thing was they pulled the quarterback.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And they put in the kid from here, the George
- 8:40Speaker 1: McIntyre kid, that Faison Brandon was the five-star freshman.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Yeah, Tennessee.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So he got pulled. Yep. And they still won the game.
- 8:48Speaker 1: It's rare that you pull your quarterback and your team
- 8:49Speaker 1: still goes on to win the game. Because usually you're
- 8:51Speaker 1: pulling your quarterback when it's.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Gone.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Got no shot.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So, and then the AP, the top five is unchanged.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Texas at number one, they did not play They're playing
- 9:01Speaker 1: Red River next week. Georgia at two. Notre Dame, Miami,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and Ohio State. Georgia put it on Vandy. I guess
- 9:10Speaker 1: they pulled away. Did you watch that game at all?
- 9:12Speaker 5: Yeah, they pulled away in the second half. It was
- 9:14Speaker 5: a good game for a while. And then Georgia's like, ah,
- 9:16Speaker 5: we're better than you guys. But Vandy's five-star also from here.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Didn't play.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He played the beginning, did he not?
- 9:24Speaker 5: I thought he was a scratch before the game. When
- 9:26Speaker 5: I was watching, he was already out and not dressed
- 9:28Speaker 5: or anything.
- 9:29Speaker 1: What did you think about the Bears? They gave their
- 9:30Speaker 1: boy one play, basically.
- 9:33Speaker 6: It's crazy, man.
- 9:34Speaker 5: The Bears.
- 9:35Speaker 1: The Chicago Bears. Speaking of quarterbacks, Keenum goes in and
- 9:39Speaker 1: plays a play and then gets pulled out.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't even see that.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 9:44Speaker 5: I thought we were talking college.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I was like... We're just talking everything, man. We're just
- 9:51Speaker 1: chatting it up.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I did see Bajan play. I didn't know Keenan
- 9:54Speaker 5: went in there for one play.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The first play. I think he started the game. Just
- 9:58Speaker 1: one play. Really? Was that to give him the start?
- 10:00Speaker 1: I think so. It was like out of respect for Keenum.
- 10:03Speaker 3: But why would you not start Keenum for the whole game?
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, because he wasn't the second string quarterback. You paid
- 10:10Speaker 1: Bajan a lot of money. I think he's making $ 5
- 10:12Speaker 1: million a year as your backup. He would have started
- 10:15Speaker 1: had Keenum not played. And also, if Caleb's hurt, you
- 10:18Speaker 1: have to have your most capable guy starting to get
- 10:21Speaker 1: the reps, even if you lose.
- 10:22Speaker 4: That's a good point.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And Keenum's like 100. Yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 5: They called it a ceremonial.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It was a ceremonial? First pitch is what they called it.
- 10:30Speaker 5: The Bears called it a ceremonial first pitch.
- 10:33Speaker 4: A pity hike.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I don't hate it. You're showing the guy we appreciate you.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Interesting. Would you give him a drive, though?
- 10:40Speaker 1: A drive's too expensive. I think it was just a
- 10:44Speaker 1: pitch or like a running play to the outside. They
- 10:46Speaker 1: didn't even let him throw it. But it's kind of
- 10:48Speaker 1: like Washington. They had to play their third-string quarterback. Now,
- 10:50Speaker 1: not because at the beginning of the game, Mariotti gets hurt.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I think it's MCL. And then the kid from Rutgers.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Kaliak Manis.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Yeah, good luck.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh, yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Did you see his spin move with no one around?
- 11:02Speaker 3: That was hilarious.
- 11:03Speaker 1: He hit O on the controller way before he got there.
- 11:06Speaker 1: That guy was fun to watch, though, because he was
- 11:07Speaker 1: just chunking downfield.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Didn't care.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And I watched a lot of the game. He threw
- 11:12Speaker 1: an interception at first. Then he throws like a 60-yard bomb.
- 11:16Speaker 1: He was fun to watch because he threw the ball downfield.
- 11:19Speaker 1: A lot of times when those guys come in, they
- 11:21Speaker 1: contain them. He was not contained. It was every third
- 11:25Speaker 1: pass play was him just chunking it.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. He was excited, too. He was so pumped
- 11:29Speaker 5: about it.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so let me look at my other notes real quick.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I just like to get all my notes off here.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Let's see. In other note news, hey, the Raiders are
- 11:39Speaker 1: pretty good.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Pretty good.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Kevin, we're on NFL now, my bad. Okay, okay, okay.
- 11:44Speaker 1: The Raiders.
- 11:44Speaker 4: The Red Raiders?
- 11:45Speaker 1: We're just jumping around a little bit.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Texas Tech.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we're just going for my notes. Sorry, just jumping around.
- 11:50Speaker 1: The Chiefs did win. They're still undefeated. They're 4-0. But
- 11:53Speaker 1: the Raiders are actually pretty good.
- 11:56Speaker 4: That was a great game.
- 11:57Speaker 1: So I bet a ton of money on the Chiefs
- 12:01Speaker 1: minus 4.5. And when they were up 11, I thought, oh,
- 12:06Speaker 1: we got it. Because they came back. That 11 was
- 12:08Speaker 1: after a fumble. And I thought, oh, my God, I
- 12:09Speaker 1: can't believe we're going to cover this. And then they
- 12:11Speaker 1: didn't because the Raiders go down. I lost like $ 1, 500
- 12:14Speaker 1: on that one play. Dang. I was down $ 3, 500. $ 3, 500.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I didn't win a single bet until the very last bet,
- 12:20Speaker 1: which I had a five-game parlay that I won $ 1, 200 on.
- 12:23Speaker 1: But I lost every bet, all Saturday, all Sunday, until
- 12:27Speaker 1: that parlay. Just chalked it up to another bad weekend.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's terrible.
- 12:31Speaker 5: But does that help? I mean, obviously it helps, but like...
- 12:35Speaker 5: When you lose all of them and then you just
- 12:36Speaker 5: hit that one, you're like, this is why. Keep going.
- 12:38Speaker 4: No. It's not like golf.
- 12:40Speaker 1: It's not like golf.
- 12:41Speaker 6: No.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Not for me.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Like a good chip shot, you're like, yeah, I got it.
- 12:44Speaker 4: You get one birdie and you're like, this is why
- 12:46Speaker 4: I play golf.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I took it immediately, put it right back in my
- 12:48Speaker 1: checking account.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Smart, dude.
- 12:51Speaker 1: No. Just trying to salvage not hating myself.
- 12:55Speaker 4: It's hard for me to move it from that... number
- 12:58Speaker 4: to the account because I'm like, ooh, now I got
- 13:00Speaker 4: $ 200 to play with.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Well, that's why I don't. Because then I would have
- 13:04Speaker 1: felt like I had $ 1, 200 to play with, whatever I won.
- 13:06Speaker 1: But I ended up losing like $ 2, 400 this weekend. But
- 13:09Speaker 1: it was almost a complete loss. I didn't hit a
- 13:11Speaker 1: single bet. So, yeah, it sucked. My AI let me down.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Chiefs won. Kenneth Walker had 177 yards, two touchdowns.
- 13:19Speaker 1: He looked so good. That Norton ankle injury, I couldn't
- 13:22Speaker 1: believe they showed it on TV so long. I think
- 13:24Speaker 1: they didn't know what they were showing on TV.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Right.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Because he was laying there And my brother-in-law was over
- 13:28Speaker 1: and he goes, look at his ankle. And it was,
- 13:29Speaker 1: I think it was the left ankle. It was completely
- 13:31Speaker 1: turned to the side.
- 13:32Speaker 2: And he's pointing at it like.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Dude, my son thought it was a joke. I'm like, no,
- 13:36Speaker 4: you can't move your leg like that. That's not a joke.
- 13:38Speaker 4: He's like, no, he's pointing at it. Like it's look
- 13:39Speaker 4: at this. It's funny. No, not a joke.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 1: So, okay. Those are all my notes. And now we
- 13:46Speaker 1: can spend a little time getting into things with intention.
- 13:49Speaker 6: Like?
- 13:49Speaker 1: How about that? Like, we can just do college football first.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Just so you know, it's college.
- 13:53Speaker 5: We're back to college.
- 13:54Speaker 1: We're back to college. Alabama beat Mississippi State 56-23. That
- 14:00Speaker 1: Russell kid at Alabama is really good. Yeah. That's the
- 14:02Speaker 1: only note there. Really good, and I don't know where
- 14:05Speaker 1: he is in the betting odds for Heisman, but he's
- 14:07Speaker 1: got to be moving now. Missouri beat Florida. That was
- 14:11Speaker 1: an ugly one. Right after I say Missouri has never
- 14:13Speaker 1: beat a top 25 team, While being ranked in the
- 14:16Speaker 1: top 25, they do. Ohio State beat Iowa. That game
- 14:21Speaker 1: was okay for a minute. And then it was kind
- 14:23Speaker 1: of like Georgia and Vanderbilt. They just were bigger and
- 14:26Speaker 1: faster and stronger, and then they just scored points. And
- 14:30Speaker 1: that was it. Miami beat Clemson. I didn't even turn
- 14:33Speaker 1: that game on. I know Clemson's going to lose if
- 14:36Speaker 1: it's close. We cursed them. Georgia beat Vanderbilt. That Minnesota-Michigan game,
- 14:41Speaker 1: it was fun because at the end, P.J. Fleck After
- 14:44Speaker 1: they win, do you see him go out and dump
- 14:45Speaker 1: the bucket on his head? Yes.
- 14:46Speaker 4: And he crowd surfed?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 5: He's awesome, rowing the boat.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Michigan's 0-2 in the Big Ten for the first time
- 14:53Speaker 1: since 2014. And a wise man once said, Underwood is underwhelming.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Boom.
- 14:58Speaker 4: That's so good, dude. Thanks, man.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I kind of hated that Kentucky beat South Carolina and
- 15:01Speaker 1: that game went to overtime. Watch the fourth quarter and
- 15:05Speaker 1: the two-point conversion in overtime. That was awesome. You got
- 15:08Speaker 1: to give Kentucky credit. They had the balls to go
- 15:10Speaker 1: for it.
- 15:10Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 1: They went for two and won it at the end.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I mean, Kentucky fell 17-0 at the beginning of that game.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I think it's going to be Beamer goodbye.
- 15:22Speaker 5: We like Beamer. We should try to go to a
- 15:24Speaker 5: game before.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I think it's going to be bye-bye, Beamer.
- 15:26Speaker 4: We go before he gets fired.
- 15:28Speaker 1: There's your headline. I would feel awkward calling him now,
- 15:30Speaker 1: being like, hey, we want to come to a game.
- 15:32Speaker 4: It's terrible, Kevin.
- 15:33Speaker 5: I'm just saying, we got an in.
- 15:35Speaker 1: We do have an in. How much longer? I don't know.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I don't think we can hit him up now and
- 15:39Speaker 1: say we want to come. Okay. But it's going to
- 15:42Speaker 1: be the 0-4 bowl when South Carolina and Arkansas play.
- 15:45Speaker 5: That's true.
- 15:46Speaker 1: It's going to be 0-4 the conference. It might be
- 15:49Speaker 1: our only chance at another victory. The thing, though, about
- 15:53Speaker 1: firing a coach, they could fire him in the middle
- 15:55Speaker 1: of the season. And I hope they don't. But they
- 15:57Speaker 1: could right going into a bye week. And I'm not
- 16:02Speaker 1: sure because I think we had Talti talk about that.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And he said if they did, it'd probably be going
- 16:07Speaker 1: into a bye week in the next couple of weeks.
- 16:09Speaker 1: because it gives whomever they put in as the interim
- 16:12Speaker 1: coach a little time. But, yeah, it sucked.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Well, who's that coach that got fired during the game?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Colorado State, defensive coordinator. So he got fired, but that
- 16:22Speaker 1: really wasn't what happened. So he was the defensive coordinator.
- 16:25Speaker 1: They took the play calls away from him. He was
- 16:28Speaker 1: not fired. They took his ability to call plays, and
- 16:31Speaker 1: then he's like, I'm out. He left, and so they
- 16:33Speaker 1: fired him.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Pulled an A-B, Antonio Brown.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Remember that? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Takes his jersey off, his shirt, throws it.
- 16:42Speaker 1: We've had Mora Jr. on the show before, but that
- 16:44Speaker 1: guy looks like I would not want to play for him.
- 16:45Speaker 1: No way.
- 16:46Speaker 5: He'd be tough.
- 16:47Speaker 1: He looks intense. Not that he'd want me to play
- 16:49Speaker 1: for him. I think if he looked at me, he'd say,
- 16:51Speaker 1: that's a guy I don't want playing for me. What
- 16:53Speaker 1: do you see over there?
- 16:54Speaker 5: Keelan Russell is fourth in the odds, Heisman odds.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Let me see if I can guess him. Number one,
- 16:59Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith. Yep. By far, he's got to be minus 280.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Plus 100.
- 17:04Speaker 5: 100.
- 17:05Speaker 4: That's pretty good.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Still get him a plus.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Okay. Number two. Miami. I'll go to Miami.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Tony?
- 17:16Speaker 1: No. If a quarterback will be it. Mensah. Yeah. Mensah's
- 17:19Speaker 1: at two. Tony's probably at three or five. No. No? Neither.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Really?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Wow. So Mensah's at two. At three, is it Julian San? No.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Who is it?
- 17:33Speaker 5: CJ Carr.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Oh.
- 17:36Speaker 5: I know they're having a good year, but I didn't
- 17:37Speaker 5: think it was that good for him.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Well, they're also not playing anybody.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true. And then Russell's at four.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah, who's five?
- 17:44Speaker 5: Trinidad.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Chambliss?
- 17:46Speaker 5: Chambliss, Ole Miss, yep.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I'm not going to guess anymore, so you can just... Okay.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I didn't know we were still playing. No, no, no,
- 17:52Speaker 1: you just run them out.
- 17:53Speaker 5: And then Gunnar Stockton, then Julian Sayen, Arch Manning, and
- 17:56Speaker 5: to round up the last, Camario Taylor.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Arch is still in it.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Still in it.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Camario Taylor is nine, and then Malachi Toney is ten.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I mean, that's uncle effect, right? Oh, yeah. RJ hasn't
- 18:06Speaker 1: done anything to beat. Nothing. In the Heisman conversation.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Just because they're number one, I guess?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Maybe. Maybe. Did you bet my AI bet, the two
- 18:15Speaker 1: I sent over?
- 18:15Speaker 2: I did.
- 18:16Speaker 5: I parlayed them.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You shouldn't have. I know. It's okay.
- 18:23Speaker 5: Hey, you got me on the weekend before, so it's
- 18:24Speaker 5: all right.
- 18:25Speaker 1: What edited you about your AI?
- 18:26Speaker 4: I bet my AI.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Do you have AI?
- 18:29Speaker 4: I don't, but now I do.
- 18:30Speaker 1: What'd you do?
- 18:31Speaker 4: So before you had texted yours, I was up like
- 18:34Speaker 4: at six in the morning because I couldn't sleep. And
- 18:36Speaker 4: I hit up chat GPT and I'm like, hey, chat.
- 18:39Speaker 1: You have chat GPT.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I downloaded it with that. And then it said like
- 18:43Speaker 4: log in. I'm like, no, I'm not about to do
- 18:45Speaker 4: all that. We're not that serious yet. So I just
- 18:48Speaker 4: did it as a guest. And I said, hey, chat.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Like I want to bet some football games. Can you
- 18:53Speaker 4: give me, I don't know, a 20 gamer? And it
- 18:56Speaker 4: gave me a 20 game parlay. I put 40 cents
- 18:59Speaker 4: on it to win like 200,000. I'm like, now you're
- 19:03Speaker 4: talking chat. And dude, it wasn't that I didn't win it.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Spoiler alert. But it was pretty amazing. I missed probably
- 19:10Speaker 4: like five out of the 20 games. So I thought
- 19:13Speaker 4: that was pretty cool. And then it gave me like
- 19:15Speaker 4: a smaller one and it had pretty much the opposite
- 19:17Speaker 4: of what you had texted. So I'm like, that's crazy
- 19:20Speaker 4: that AI even doesn't agree, even though it's coming from
- 19:22Speaker 4: the same place.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I don't think it's coming from the same place.
- 19:24Speaker 4: It's not?
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's not like one central AI that all the other
- 19:29Speaker 1: chats log into.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Because I asked it specifically, and I wanted to ask you,
- 19:32Speaker 4: what are your prompts for this thing? Because I'm like, hey.
- 19:36Speaker 4: This is important to me. My family depends on it.
- 19:38Speaker 1: No, don't ask that.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Oh, no?
- 19:39Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 19:40Speaker 5: I'll be homeless.
- 19:43Speaker 4: And then I said, give me three games. And it
- 19:45Speaker 4: was set on Alabama. Like, you've got to bet Alabama.
- 19:48Speaker 4: But yours was opposite.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah. mine said take Mississippi State. And, yeah, I just said, hey,
- 19:54Speaker 1: if you look at the board of all the bets,
- 19:57Speaker 1: which would you take? And it said, hey, of all
- 20:00Speaker 1: the bets, I would bet Arkansas plus 14 and a half.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And I said, no, no, don't look at my game.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It goes, I'm not. I'm looking at all the bets.
- 20:09Speaker 4: It said that?
- 20:09Speaker 1: Yeah. And I was like, you're so wrong.
- 20:12Speaker 4: How long did yours think? Because mine didn't think at all.
- 20:14Speaker 4: It spit it out in like two seconds.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Not long. Okay.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Dude, I'm loving it. I cannot believe you can ask
- 20:22Speaker 4: a machine. And I think, too, it's pretty good with
- 20:25Speaker 4: the over-unders.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I just like a grandpa finding a webcam. I cannot
- 20:29Speaker 1: believe you can connect and look at it and it
- 20:31Speaker 1: shows you across the world.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It's pretty amazing.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Go ahead. Finish your statement.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I don't remember what I was going to say. But
- 20:37Speaker 4: I just love it. I kind of like asking chat
- 20:40Speaker 4: now what to bet on. And then you have someone
- 20:42Speaker 4: to blame, too. I know how that feels now.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah. We blame you a lot.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Well, you do all the time.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Our skins team did pretty good. They did? We won
- 20:53Speaker 1: four skins this week. Nice.
- 20:54Speaker 4: That's really good.
- 20:55Speaker 5: I know the Cowboys barely got one in.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Yeah, but a win's a win. We're not doing barely.
- 20:59Speaker 1: You got to be barely.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I'm not doing barely. I'm congratulating you.
- 21:02Speaker 4: The Cowboys got a win, dude.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Okay, let's do our own teams. Kevin, you go first.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Man. How about those Patriots? Handing the Bills their first
- 21:10Speaker 5: loss in their new stadium. So I love that new
- 21:12Speaker 5: stadium very much. It is a cool stadium. But Drake
- 21:15Speaker 5: may look like Drake may have lost here.
- 21:17Speaker 1: That guy, Chisholm or Jisholm or whatever his name was.
- 21:20Speaker 5: I called him F-ing Jisholm.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Man, that catch. That's unbelievable. That's an unbelievable catch.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Unbelievable.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I bet the Bills in that, which sucks.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Fair.
- 21:31Speaker 1: But it's a good win. They needed it.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 5: It's like a turnaround win. For the season. Now we've
- 21:37Speaker 5: got the Raiders, though, next week.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's good, though. That's good for you guys.
- 21:41Speaker 5: Yeah. It's weird how it changes your whole mood, like
- 21:45Speaker 5: all of Sunday, because we were the first game in
- 21:46Speaker 5: the morning game.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Of course.
- 21:47Speaker 5: And I'm just like, the rest of the day, I'm
- 21:49Speaker 5: just happy. I'm like, I don't care what happens. If
- 21:50Speaker 5: I lose a bet, so what? Patriots won.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Mike, Texas didn't play?
- 21:55Speaker 4: No, just chilled.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:57Speaker 5: Red River this week, though.
- 21:59Speaker 1: You feel good about it? I feel okay.
- 22:03Speaker 4: I feel good.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Oklahoma is not good, but they're good enough to be
- 22:07Speaker 1: good once or twice a season.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Yeah, they could beat us if they wanted to.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I think they'll want to, though, to be fair. I
- 22:14Speaker 1: think they'll want to.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Because if they don't, that's bad for them.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eddie, do your Cowboys.
- 22:17Speaker 4: That was beautiful, man. I mean, I was puckered, though.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I mean, there wasn't a moment in that game where
- 22:23Speaker 4: I was like, ah, let's just relax and eat some
- 22:24Speaker 4: chicken wings. It was stressful the entire game. Our defense
- 22:28Speaker 4: still sucks, but we managed to pull out a win, man.
- 22:32Speaker 4: And I think the Texans are pretty good. It's crazy
- 22:35Speaker 4: how decent of a team they are. I'm not going
- 22:38Speaker 4: to call them how good of a team. But, like,
- 22:40Speaker 4: they're not a terrible team, and they haven't won. It's
- 22:44Speaker 4: crazy to me. So I thought we were going to
- 22:45Speaker 4: lose that game, but we didn't. Dak showed up. CeeDee
- 22:48Speaker 4: Lamb showed up big time. And our defense, really, they
- 22:52Speaker 4: weren't great. But when it counted, they made the stops. Dude,
- 22:55Speaker 4: I'm like Kevin. The rest of that day was awesome
- 22:58Speaker 4: for me. The fact that it was a noon game
- 22:59Speaker 4: and they had the rest of the game to just
- 23:01Speaker 4: relax is great.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they just kept throwing the ball to CeeDee Lamb.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Yeah, what do you have, 17 catches or something?
- 23:06Speaker 4: Yeah, records.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And so I have him in our fantasy league, but
- 23:10Speaker 1: I was playing him in the other league that I'm in.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I have two leagues, and I hate being in two leagues.
- 23:14Speaker 1: That's why I hate being in two leagues. Yeah, stupid.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'll never be in two leagues again. I only did
- 23:19Speaker 1: it because I have another friend that was like, we
- 23:20Speaker 1: need somebody. And so I got it, and it's a
- 23:22Speaker 1: little more higher money, but I would still rather win
- 23:24Speaker 1: ours because it's all people I know than the one
- 23:27Speaker 1: where the money's higher. But as I was running away
- 23:30Speaker 1: with it with CeeDee Lamb, In our league, I was just,
- 23:34Speaker 1: CeeDee Lamb was just sticking it to me in the
- 23:35Speaker 1: other one.
- 23:37Speaker 6: It sucks.
- 23:37Speaker 1: It sucks.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I hate that.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I was so torn. But then we have the Cowboys
- 23:41Speaker 1: in our skins league. Thank God they won. Jeez. That
- 23:44Speaker 1: was a good one.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a good one. Man, you know, speaking
- 23:47Speaker 4: of like that fantasy, like I had Nico Collins and
- 23:51Speaker 4: I benched him. Because I'm like, I can't root for him. Like,
- 23:54Speaker 4: I can't.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I don't hate it. I mean, it's not a good fantasy.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Who grunted?
- 23:58Speaker 4: It was me.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard to do as a fantasy owner, but
- 24:01Speaker 1: I don't hate it for just like your heart and
- 24:03Speaker 1: your soul.
- 24:03Speaker 4: And then he's just like putting up all these points.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I'm like, oh.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I played him, man.
- 24:08Speaker 1: It's also hedging. You can look at it that way.
- 24:10Speaker 1: You're hedging. Like, probably either way, you're going to feel
- 24:12Speaker 1: pretty good. Yeah. So, but I hear you.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I can't believe you did bench him now.
- 24:20Speaker 4: It was truly because I didn't want to root for him.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I have to have the conversation with myself that me
- 24:25Speaker 1: rooting doesn't affect anything.
- 24:28Speaker 5: But it's hard to get there.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yes, but I have to go, because of what you're
- 24:32Speaker 1: rooting for, nothing is going to change. So load the
- 24:37Speaker 1: best of your ability and just let them play and
- 24:39Speaker 1: let the chips fall where they may. Because I feel
- 24:41Speaker 1: the same way. I don't want to root for other people.
- 24:44Speaker 4: But you'll never bet against Arkansas, right? Never.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I won't bet. I won't even bet Arkansas minus points.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Because I don't want Arkansas to win and not cover
- 24:56Speaker 1: and me be upset. So I'm only ever going to
- 24:59Speaker 1: bet Arkansas plus points if they're the underdog or Arkansas
- 25:02Speaker 1: money line. I'm never going to bet. Basketball, I'll go
- 25:06Speaker 1: if it's Arkansas minus one. I'll bet that because that
- 25:10Speaker 1: feels like it's pretty much the same thing anyway. And
- 25:12Speaker 1: it's not going to end.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Minus one.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Because it's not going to be in a tie.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 1: The tie game is not going to end and it'll
- 25:20Speaker 1: be minus one. So, yeah. Good for the Cowboys. Good
- 25:23Speaker 1: for me. Good for all of us. Yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Did you want to put your hat on? Just for
- 25:27Speaker 4: a little bit?
- 25:28Speaker 1: I don't know, man. This hat's kind of gross.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Put it on, baby. Put it on, baby. Come on.
- 25:34Speaker 5: Yeah!
- 25:37Speaker 6: Is that head of cowboy?
- 25:38Speaker 4: Head of cowboy! That looks good on you.
- 25:41Speaker 5: You got hair flow back there, too.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Hey, what do you mean it's gross? Like, is there
- 25:44Speaker 4: dirt in there, or, like, is this.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Gross to wear? Well, I bought it from an antique store. Oh,
- 25:48Speaker 1: that'll do it.
- 25:48Speaker 4: You never know who was wearing it before?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Possibly everybody at the antique store that would try it on,
- 25:54Speaker 1: plus whomever owned it before.
- 25:55Speaker 4: If you had to guess the previous owner, what they
- 25:58Speaker 4: look like, what would you guess?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Old fat cowboy with a cigar?
- 26:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 5: What does it smell like?
- 26:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:07Speaker 4: You don't want to go there.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I'm good. Yeah, I figured it was like an oil baron.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Oh, nice.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Big fat cowboy.
- 26:14Speaker 3: That's it.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I say, I say. Smoking a cigar in Delta Lounge
- 26:18Speaker 1: just waiting for his flight to come in.
- 26:20Speaker 4: That Tony Dorsett, let me tell you.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Let me tell you.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah.

- 26:30Speaker 1: You can wear it if you want.

- 27:50Speaker 1: Scores real quick. Colts beat the Commanders. We talked about that.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor's awesome. Yeah. He feels like he's 100 years old.
- 27:57Speaker 1: He's not. But he's been good for so long. But
- 27:59Speaker 1: he's awesome. That game doesn't count, though.
- 28:01Speaker 5: Because it's in a different country?
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Nice.
- 28:05Speaker 5: I like that.
- 28:06Speaker 4: That would be awesome if it didn't count on the record.
- 28:07Speaker 4: They're just like, eh, it didn't happen.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I feel bad if you go over there and you
- 28:12Speaker 1: get injured and you lose. It's like the triple loss.
- 28:15Speaker 4: It's the worst.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Three strikes, you're off family. You're out. Go to bed.
- 28:19Speaker 1: So I felt bad for Mariota. But also because he
- 28:23Speaker 1: was getting his shot. Because he played so well last week.
- 28:29Speaker 1: And Jaden Daniels is probably back next week. But had
- 28:33Speaker 1: he had another good game, he probably gave himself just
- 28:36Speaker 1: years in the NFL to be a good backup. So
- 28:38Speaker 1: I felt bad for him. Ravens beat the Titans. I
- 28:41Speaker 1: don't know what the latest is on Lamar's ankle. But
- 28:43Speaker 1: he left. And I felt like a little bit maybe
- 28:45Speaker 1: he left because they knew they were going to win
- 28:46Speaker 1: that game. It's the Titans. It'd basically be like putting
- 28:48Speaker 1: pads on us.
- 28:50Speaker 4: But they keep winning by like one touchdown. Or losing.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They lose so close.
- 28:55Speaker 1: But I think the other teams just kind of give in. Oh,
- 28:57Speaker 1: you think so? Yeah, come on. We'll let you score
- 28:59Speaker 1: a little bit so you can keep a little faith.
- 29:01Speaker 1: But I've not seen the latest on his ankle. He
- 29:04Speaker 1: was in a walking boot. I saw that after the game.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Ravens need him. But is Snoop back? Is he their
- 29:10Speaker 1: quarterback again?
- 29:11Speaker 4: Their backup quarterback?
- 29:13Speaker 1: He's back. He's been around the league. He's back.
- 29:15Speaker 6: Who?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Who? Snoop Huntley.
- 29:16Speaker 5: And he left them for a couple years, right?
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 29:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Patriots beat the Bills. Nice job, Kevin. Bears beat the Jets.
- 29:24Speaker 1: A game that I put on for four seconds. It
- 29:26Speaker 1: didn't even make the four-banger, ever. That game never made
- 29:28Speaker 1: the four-banger. I kept red zone on one banger and
- 29:32Speaker 1: then three other games on that three, and I would
- 29:33Speaker 1: flip over to them when I needed to.
- 29:35Speaker 5: That's the way to do it.
- 29:35Speaker 1: How about them Jaguars beating the Bengals?
- 29:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 1: We own the Jaguars in our league.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 1: And they're pretty good.
- 29:40Speaker 5: They are pretty good.
- 29:41Speaker 1: They're pretty good. Lots of penalties. There was like a
- 29:45Speaker 1: play and a flag every play the first half against
- 29:49Speaker 1: the Jaguars.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Oh, they broke records.
- 29:50Speaker 1: It was just flag, flag, flag, flag, flag, flag.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Constant.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 29:53Speaker 5: And then Jamar Chase went out with a concussion.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And then T. Higgins went out at the end.
- 29:58Speaker 5: He did too?
- 29:59Speaker 1: He got hurt. Because a Q popped up next to
- 30:01Speaker 1: his name in my fantasy is how I even know.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Oh, that's the worst.
- 30:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Because it was up on the four banger. I wasn't
- 30:05Speaker 1: really paying a lot of attention to it. It was
- 30:06Speaker 1: just up on one of the screens.
- 30:07Speaker 5: I get it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Cowboys beat the Texans. Nice job, Eddie.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Giants beat the Cardinals. That was a fun ending because
- 30:13Speaker 1: the Cardinals were down trying to win it and the
- 30:15Speaker 1: Giants picked it off and ran it back. That was
- 30:17Speaker 1: a good one. Rams beat the Eagles. That, I only
- 30:22Speaker 1: saw the very end of the game. They said Stafford
- 30:25Speaker 1: sucked the whole game until the very end. final two
- 30:28Speaker 1: drives is that what it was back yeah i only
- 30:29Speaker 1: saw him being pretty good so i didn't see him
- 30:31Speaker 1: suck in the whole game.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Yeah i saw the they were down by like 10
- 30:34Speaker 5: i'm like dang they're gonna lose this one too and
- 30:35Speaker 5: then i saw they won and i'm like what the crap.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Packers beat the buccaneers but the packers suck so bad
- 30:42Speaker 1: yeah the packers suck that's exciting packers beat the box
- 30:46Speaker 1: and the packers suck uh so bucks don't have a
- 30:49Speaker 1: quarterback bucks on the defense bucks on offensive line Todd Bowles,
- 30:53Speaker 1: hot seat.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I can't believe he hasn't already been fired. Me too.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Even after last year. Yeah. Vikings beat the Dolphins. The
- 31:00Speaker 1: Vikings are 4-0. It's the worst 4-0 team I've ever
- 31:03Speaker 1: seen in my entire life. Like, their defense is pretty good.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Kyler Murray is, as Eddie's kids would say, buns.
- 31:09Speaker 4: He is buns.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Kyler Murray is buns.
- 31:13Speaker 5: Did you see the DM I got? I put it
- 31:14Speaker 5: on my story. I don't know if you saw that.
- 31:16Speaker 1: People are angry at our Kevin O'Connell. They're so angry
- 31:19Speaker 1: at him because they think he's Kevin O'Connell from the Vikings.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Did you get a message?
- 31:22Speaker 5: I got a DM from a guy like, Kyler Murray
- 31:25Speaker 5: can't even see over the line.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Why is he playing? Like, if you want to win,
- 31:27Speaker 1: bench him.
- 31:28Speaker 5: And I was just like, I didn't reply, but I just,
- 31:30Speaker 5: I was cracking up.
- 31:30Speaker 1: That's hilarious. They think he's Kevin O'Connell. Well, to be fair,
- 31:34Speaker 1: you are Kevin O'Connell.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 31:36Speaker 4: The same spelling and everything.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 5: It takes one look to like look at a profile
- 31:41Speaker 5: and realize, you know.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Right. The weird thing about you is you're wearing two teams.
- 31:46Speaker 1: You can't do that.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but.
- 31:48Speaker 4: You have to be aware of that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Like you have a Kentucky Wildcat hoodie on that they
- 31:51Speaker 1: sent us. Very nice of them. And then a New
- 31:53Speaker 1: England Patriots hat. I know. And the letters are screaming forward.
- 31:56Speaker 1: There's nothing subtle about it. I know, but the one
- 31:58Speaker 1: thing is it's college and it's NFL. But your Neapolitan
- 32:02Speaker 1: ice cream, when the flavors don't match, they don't go together.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:06Speaker 5: It was free. I moved this weekend, so my clothes
- 32:10Speaker 5: are slim pickings right now. You know, I'm reaching out
- 32:12Speaker 5: of boxes. I was like, yeah, that'll do. And I
- 32:14Speaker 5: just grabbed that.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I agree.
- 32:15Speaker 5: I did feel weird putting it on.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I won't wear socks if they're like Adidas, if I'm
- 32:19Speaker 1: wearing Nike shoes. Oh, wow.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Oh, but if they're covered, that's okay, right? Like if
- 32:24Speaker 4: you're wearing pants.
- 32:25Speaker 2: No, no.
- 32:25Speaker 1: What? He knows. No.
- 32:27Speaker 4: He's the one who knows that they're underneath. He knows
- 32:29Speaker 4: what's underneath.
- 32:30Speaker 1: And that's what matters, is that I know.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 32:32Speaker 4: What do they call that? That's a word, like a cross.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Freaking crazy.
- 32:35Speaker 6: OCD.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Stupid idiot. Insane. Wasting a lot of time on something
- 32:39Speaker 1: that you shouldn't be wasting time on, trying to find
- 32:40Speaker 1: socks that are clean. Okay, well, the ones that aren't
- 32:43Speaker 1: maybe even clean, but the least dirty, if they match
- 32:45Speaker 1: the brand.
- 32:46Speaker 4: It's not what I was looking for, but no.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Yeah, same. Chiefs beat the Raiders. The headline here is
- 32:51Speaker 1: I think the Raiders are actually pretty good. Brock Bowers
- 32:53Speaker 1: is awesome.
- 32:54Speaker 6: He's stud.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I don't know how many games you can win with
- 32:58Speaker 1: him being your number one wide receiver, but he's really,
- 33:01Speaker 1: really great.
- 33:01Speaker 6: So good.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Seahawks beat the Chargers. The Chargers are never going to
- 33:06Speaker 1: win a game. Never. That's terrible.
- 33:08Speaker 4: I mean, it looked like Herbert was dying.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Oh, that game started. Herbert gets up, throws a pick immediately.
- 33:14Speaker 1: First play of the game. Sam Darnold, next play of
- 33:15Speaker 1: the game. Throws a pick. Right back. First two plays.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Because it happens, and it's... Okay, here we go. The
- 33:22Speaker 1: Chargers really need to bounce back. Here we go. Let's
- 33:24Speaker 1: start the game. Kickoff. All right, and here he is,
- 33:26Speaker 1: Justin Herbert. Interception. Man, the Chargers had it really bad.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I guess, man, this game's not going so well. Interception,
- 33:32Speaker 1: Sam Darnold. Okay, the Chargers back in it. It's crazy. Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Yeah, they're bad.
- 33:37Speaker 1: 49ers beat the Broncos. I got to be honest, I
- 33:40Speaker 1: didn't see a lot of that one.
- 33:41Speaker 4: It was a close game until the fourth quarter.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I had nine people in my house all weekend. And
- 33:47Speaker 1: Panthers beat the Lions. Let's go. Bryce Young threw for 329.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Yeah, to T-Mac.
- 33:52Speaker 5: I bought our boy T-Mac.
- 33:54Speaker 1: T-Mac was C.D. Lamb.
- 33:55Speaker 4: He was C.D.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Lamb.
- 33:57Speaker 1: He had almost 200 yards receiving, and this is like,
- 33:59Speaker 1: let's just find T-Mac. Let's just find T-Mac.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Two touchdowns?
- 34:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Is that what he had?
- 34:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Chuba had over 100 yards rushing as well.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Yeah, he did good.
- 34:08Speaker 4: He did good.
- 34:09Speaker 5: He did good. Yeah, I played against him.
- 34:13Speaker 1: He did good. You hired a moving company? I did.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Have you guys ever done it?
- 34:17Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Okay.
- 34:19Speaker 5: I know Bobby has. Have you guys ever? Yeah, yeah.
- 34:21Speaker 4: You know who paid for it? Bobby.
- 34:23Speaker 1: What?
- 34:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 4: When we moved from Texas to Nashville.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Oh, well, that's when you had to relocate for jobs.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker 5: But you paid for that, too?
- 34:30Speaker 1: Everything on this show comes out of mind somewhat. I
- 34:32Speaker 1: pay for part of the show.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Thanks, Bobby.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Every single thing that we do.
- 34:35Speaker 5: So are you saying it should have hit you up?
- 34:36Speaker 1: No. So you're moving in town. Yes. Yeah.
- 34:40Speaker 5: I'm moving in town. I mean, just a different location
- 34:42Speaker 5: outside of Nashville. But yeah, we moved over the weekend,
- 34:44Speaker 5: hired a moving company. Two trucks. Dude, it was the
- 34:47Speaker 5: best decision ever. I've never like, it was a long
- 34:49Speaker 5: day still and a lot stressful. Didn't get done till,
- 34:52Speaker 5: I don't know, nine o'clock at night really. But I've
- 34:55Speaker 5: never felt so good after a moving day. You know,
- 34:58Speaker 5: usually you're physically just like, oh my God, I can't
- 35:00Speaker 5: do this. Like we unpacked for two hours because we
- 35:03Speaker 5: didn't have to do most of the moving.
- 35:05Speaker 1: It was great. Great.
- 35:06Speaker 5: But we did lose a guy. There was four guys originally.
- 35:08Speaker 4: I know he died.
- 35:10Speaker 1: He died in the move? Is he hidden somewhere?
- 35:12Speaker 5: He's at the old house.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Oh, no. Yes.
- 35:14Speaker 5: We don't know what happened to him. But so I
- 35:17Speaker 5: also got charged less than what they quoted me for
- 35:19Speaker 5: because we lost a guy. But we had him for
- 35:21Speaker 5: half the day. So I was like, perfect.
- 35:22Speaker 1: That's good.
- 35:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 5: It was great.
- 35:26Speaker 1: When you really level up next time, get people that
- 35:29Speaker 1: unpack for you. Ooh. Once. Dang.
- 35:32Speaker 5: That's a thing too.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I've never done that.
- 35:33Speaker 3: I have.
- 35:34Speaker 1: So once I was doing some shows on the weekend
- 35:37Speaker 1: and I was moving from one place to another and
- 35:40Speaker 1: the movers were coming while I was gone. And also
- 35:42Speaker 1: while I was gone, they were completely unpacking and setting
- 35:44Speaker 1: the house up.
- 35:44Speaker 4: That's amazing.
- 35:45Speaker 1: And so I left and went and did three shows
- 35:47Speaker 1: and then I left living one place fully all my
- 35:51Speaker 1: furniture and everything and came back to another place fully
- 35:53Speaker 1: furnished and built and It was really, really good. Wow.
- 35:57Speaker 1: That's the next level.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Is that like the same company on PAX for you?
- 36:00Speaker 5: Do you have like a whole new crew come in?
- 36:02Speaker 1: It was the same company.
- 36:03Speaker 5: That's cool.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It's just a higher, higher, you know, bit of money
- 36:07Speaker 1: you get to pay.
- 36:08Speaker 5: Someday, kid.
- 36:08Speaker 1: That's leveling up there.
- 36:09Speaker 5: I make a couple more than I do, I guess.
- 36:11Speaker 1: A couple what?
- 36:12Speaker 5: A couple more bucks.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Yeah, more than that.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. Speaking of money, you pay Kevin for
- 36:17Speaker 1: his pop-a-shot yet?
- 36:18Speaker 4: I haven't yet. I have a proposition for Kevin.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Yeah, let's hear it.
- 36:23Speaker 4: I would like to pay in installments.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Okay, I'll be the judge here. Go ahead. Okay.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Now, if you let me pay in installments, which would be.
- 36:33Speaker 1: What installments are you suggesting? $ 100.
- 36:34Speaker 4: $ 10 a month. A month?
- 36:36Speaker 1: A month?
- 36:37Speaker 4: However, let's do it for the whole year. That way
- 36:41Speaker 4: you end up with $ 120 at the end of the year.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Interest. So, it's $ 2 a month. Extra over 10 months time?
- 36:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:49Speaker 5: What is two bucks?
- 36:50Speaker 1: I would say no to that.
- 36:51Speaker 3: No.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I would say if he pays you 20 bucks a
- 36:55Speaker 1: month for 10 months.
- 36:57Speaker 4: For five months.
- 36:58Speaker 3: No.
- 36:59Speaker 1: If you want to pay an installment instead of 100
- 37:01Speaker 1: bucks at once, you can pay him 20 bucks a
- 37:03Speaker 1: month for 10 months. What is this?
- 37:04Speaker 4: An easy loan place?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yes. It's exactly what it is. He doesn't have to
- 37:07Speaker 1: do that. He would like to have the whole $ 100
- 37:09Speaker 1: as is. And if you want to have an installment payment,
- 37:12Speaker 1: it's easier to pay 20 bucks on 100 for sure.
- 37:15Speaker 1: So you can pay 20 bucks- For 10 months, or
- 37:17Speaker 1: you can pay $ 100 for one.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:19Speaker 4: What are you going to do? Would he be down
- 37:21Speaker 4: to do double or nothing?
- 37:23Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I wouldn't.
- 37:27Speaker 5: No, I'm not.
- 37:28Speaker 4: Why not?
- 37:29Speaker 1: As your counsel here, I would just say take your money.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Yeah, because I want to take my money.
- 37:32Speaker 4: You don't want $ 200?
- 37:34Speaker 5: No, the best part is, still, you called me out.
- 37:37Speaker 5: I whooped you, and I just want to live on
- 37:38Speaker 5: that high.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I agree.
- 37:39Speaker 5: And now I want that $ 100.
- 37:41Speaker 4: It feels good to be better than me?
- 37:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Okay.
- 37:43Speaker 1: As your counsel, I recommend you just take the money.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take the money.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So you're going to go $ 100 right now?
- 37:48Speaker 4: If that's what he wants, yeah.
- 37:49Speaker 1: No, no.
- 37:51Speaker 4: If that's what the counsel decides.
- 37:52Speaker 1: $ 20 for 10 months will also be accepted.
- 37:54Speaker 4: No, no, I'll do $ 100.
- 37:55Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:56Speaker 4: I had a pretty good week. Good weekend on DraftKings.
- 37:59Speaker 5: I was waiting to make my bets with your money
- 38:00Speaker 5: and just never came.
- 38:02Speaker 4: I hit one bet for like $ 75 and I'm like, gosh,
- 38:05Speaker 4: if that was $ 100, I would have been great. I
- 38:07Speaker 4: would have texted it to you guys and been like,
- 38:08Speaker 4: Kevin's paid. But it wasn't a $ 75.
- 38:12Speaker 1: But you could have paid... 75. That plus 25 that's
- 38:15Speaker 1: in the tanker over there.
- 38:16Speaker 4: I know, but it looked better if it was like $ 100.
- 38:17Speaker 4: I'd be like, Kevin, this is yours.

- 39:32Speaker 1: Varies by state. Hey, joining us today is Houston Texans
- 39:41Speaker 1: quarterback Graham Mertz. Graham was drafted by Houston in 2025
- 39:46Speaker 1: after an awesome college career at Wisconsin and Florida. Graham,
- 39:49Speaker 1: appreciate you. Where are you at in your rehab right now?
- 39:51Speaker 3: We are a month and a half post-op, so we're
- 39:55Speaker 3: in a good spot. It's all just like strength work
- 39:58Speaker 3: right now, so... Loading up these quads, getting them stronger
- 40:01Speaker 3: before I get on the field and start running in
- 40:03Speaker 3: a few weeks.
- 40:05Speaker 1: How much communication do you have with the team while
- 40:07Speaker 1: you're doing all this?
- 40:09Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, I'm here with the team right now.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Communication all day, every day. So I'm in that building
- 40:16Speaker 3: doing rehab six days out of the week, and the
- 40:18Speaker 3: seventh day is game day.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Uh, I'm, I'm there all day, every day.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Do you go to away games at all? You traveling
- 40:24Speaker 1: at all?
- 40:25Speaker 6: Uh, not right now.
- 40:26Speaker 3: It's, they don't really want me getting in planes just
- 40:29Speaker 3: due to like swelling purposes and stuff like that with, uh,
- 40:33Speaker 3: the rehab process. So no away games, but home games,
- 40:36Speaker 3: I'm finally getting to the point where I can actually
- 40:38Speaker 3: like go to these games and be on the sideline, uh,
- 40:41Speaker 3: just cause they don't want you really standing on your,
- 40:44Speaker 3: on your feet all game and then swelling up and
- 40:46Speaker 3: then rehab gets pushed back a couple of days cause
- 40:48Speaker 3: you're all swollen. So, um, I'm looking forward to getting
- 40:51Speaker 3: back out there and just being on the sideline for
- 40:53Speaker 3: a game. I mean, it feels like it's been, gosh,
- 40:56Speaker 3: so long, but it's only really been like six weeks.
- 40:59Speaker 1: So, um, there were a lot of injuries in the
- 41:01Speaker 1: NFL this weekend. It seemed like more so than normal.
- 41:04Speaker 1: How bad does that suck? And when do you know
- 41:07Speaker 1: that it's serious?
- 41:09Speaker 6: Yeah, that's really your question. I knew right away because
- 41:13Speaker 6: I'd already done it before.
- 41:15Speaker 3: But my last one was in Neyland Stadium and I
- 41:18Speaker 3: actually tore it on like a third and six. And
- 41:22Speaker 3: I never knew what it felt like to tear an ACL, obviously,
- 41:24Speaker 3: because it was my first time. But I ended up
- 41:27Speaker 3: playing the next play and then I felt it. So,
- 41:30Speaker 3: I mean, it's so weird. Cause it's like, if you've
- 41:33Speaker 3: never been hurt before and your adrenaline's pumping and you're
- 41:35Speaker 3: in the middle of a game, like, uh, you can
- 41:38Speaker 3: feel it, but not really know how severe it is.
- 41:41Speaker 3: And then until you like either, like, for example, um,
- 41:44Speaker 3: the chiefs game, you know, like stuff like that. Cause
- 41:46Speaker 3: the shock wears off, the adrenaline wears off. And then
- 41:48Speaker 3: you really like take a second to realize what happened. Um,
- 41:52Speaker 3: that happened to me when I broke my collarbone against Mizzou. Um,
- 41:55Speaker 3: same thing with my other one, but this one, I mean,
- 41:58Speaker 3: it happened the same exact way. And Instantly knew that's
- 42:01Speaker 3: my ACL. That's how you tear it. And then the
- 42:05Speaker 3: training staff comes over and they're like, what happened to
- 42:08Speaker 3: my ACL?
- 42:08Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 42:10Speaker 3: I feel like when you've had experience with it, you know,
- 42:12Speaker 3: but when you don't, the adrenaline wears off and then
- 42:15Speaker 3: you realize so.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I was really high in Florida. You were really high
- 42:18Speaker 1: in Florida coming into this last week. Wasn't the greatest showing.
- 42:22Speaker 1: What do you think happened?
- 42:23Speaker 3: I think I gave them a little bit of rat
- 42:24Speaker 3: poison and said they were the number one team in
- 42:26Speaker 3: the country. No, I think anytime you play this game
- 42:30Speaker 3: and there's the emotion of the ups and downs of
- 42:33Speaker 3: we're riding this high and then you go and do it.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Like there's, there's always going to be an element of
- 42:37Speaker 3: how do you handle the human element of the game?
- 42:40Speaker 3: And it's just kind of inevitable that I don't know.
- 42:43Speaker 3: I don't know if they got comfortable or complacent, but
- 42:46Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not in that locker room or anything
- 42:48Speaker 3: like that, but I think there's a human element of
- 42:50Speaker 3: this game where, you're kind of like sitting like, what's
- 42:53Speaker 3: about to happen?
- 42:53Speaker 6: Like, are we going to go do the same thing again?
- 42:55Speaker 6: Or I don't know.
- 42:57Speaker 3: But just watching the game and they shut down the
- 43:00Speaker 3: run game completely. They loaded up the box and you
- 43:05Speaker 3: could tell their goal was let's shut down Jade and
- 43:08Speaker 3: make them throw it the entire day. And then obviously
- 43:10Speaker 3: not having VB3 out there hurt them a ton. But
- 43:14Speaker 3: I think Mizzou's defense played very well.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Was there ever a time in your college career where
- 43:20Speaker 1: you knew The guys were pretty much feeling themselves, and
- 43:23Speaker 1: you had to go, hey, guys, we've got to focus here.
- 43:26Speaker 1: We're going to get beat the next week.
- 43:28Speaker 3: That's interesting because I was fortunate at Wisconsin to be
- 43:31Speaker 3: in a really, really good locker room with a lot
- 43:34Speaker 3: of really good leaders. I would say that happened to
- 43:39Speaker 3: me at Florida after we played South Carolina and beat them.
- 43:43Speaker 3: We had like two two-minute drives to win the game.
- 43:46Speaker 3: We were down like 10 points with eight minutes left.
- 43:48Speaker 3: But I can tell after that game, like guys were like, oh,
- 43:50Speaker 3: we're so good. I'm like, guys, we got Georgia in
- 43:53Speaker 3: a few weeks. We got to get a lot better
- 43:58Speaker 3: very fast. So I would say that was one experience
- 44:02Speaker 3: of obviously you're going to win games and enjoy winning
- 44:05Speaker 3: games because that's why you go the entire offseason is
- 44:08Speaker 3: to go out there and win games. But the reality
- 44:11Speaker 3: is it's an emotional game. There's emotional wins, emotional losses.
- 44:15Speaker 3: And it's the teams that can just kind of stay
- 44:17Speaker 3: steady through that entire thing that are, over time, going
- 44:19Speaker 3: to be the most successful.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Did you get a chance to watch any of Alabama?
- 44:23Speaker 1: And if so, I mean, they're 5-0 now, and they
- 44:26Speaker 1: put it on Mississippi State. Are they legitimately a team
- 44:29Speaker 1: to worry about? Oh, 100%.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I mean, I think their quarterback just progressively has gotten
- 44:33Speaker 3: better and better every single week.
- 44:35Speaker 6: I mean, I remember.
- 44:36Speaker 3: week one watching him and you could kind of tell
- 44:38Speaker 3: like he's getting his feet wet he's getting comfortable a
- 44:41Speaker 3: little bit um but as the weeks go on i
- 44:43Speaker 3: mean you can tell he's just building on that confidence
- 44:47Speaker 3: each and every week and i think that's when when
- 44:49Speaker 3: you have a quarterback that's young and doing that that's
- 44:51Speaker 3: that's a recipe for success so obviously me speaking on
- 44:55Speaker 3: the quarterback offensive side i think they got a great
- 44:57Speaker 3: defense too and i think that you saw that just
- 44:59Speaker 3: with how camario was.
- 45:02Speaker 6: A little bit shaky at the start of the game.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I think they do a great job of mixing up
- 45:07Speaker 3: the pictures and sending pressure when they need to.
- 45:09Speaker 6: And I think they're a great team.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Texas was off this week. They have Red River next
- 45:13Speaker 1: week against Oklahoma. Texas is number one. How far do
- 45:18Speaker 1: you think Texas can go? What's their ceiling?
- 45:19Speaker 6: I think they're going to go as far as Arch
- 45:21Speaker 6: takes them.
- 45:22Speaker 3: I mean, I think you go back and watch that
- 45:24Speaker 3: Ohio State game when he extended those plays towards the
- 45:27Speaker 3: end of the game and was making those big throws.
- 45:31Speaker 6: They're hard to beat.
- 45:33Speaker 3: I think that's the reality of the situation for him.
- 45:35Speaker 3: They're going to go as far as he can take them.
- 45:37Speaker 3: I know Arch, and I know that he knows that
- 45:40Speaker 3: and he enjoys that pressure, but I think that's the
- 45:45Speaker 3: reality of the situation. They've got a great defense, outstanding defense.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I think that if they can go out there and
- 45:54Speaker 3: score consistently, they're going to be really hard to beat.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Whenever you go from playing college ball to the pros,
- 46:01Speaker 1: how quickly do you feel the change of speed and strength,
- 46:06Speaker 1: the league compared to college?
- 46:07Speaker 6: Oh, instantly.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Mine was interesting because I came from tearing my ACL
- 46:16Speaker 3: and then I got cleared the day before camp started.
- 46:18Speaker 3: And then so I didn't do any of the OTAs, nothing.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So it was all just mental learning that And then
- 46:25Speaker 3: day one of fall camp got thrown out there, and
- 46:27Speaker 3: you're in the huddle, and you're playing against the best
- 46:30Speaker 3: players in the world. And it's funny because it's the
- 46:35Speaker 3: age gap from when you are playing in college to
- 46:38Speaker 3: the league.
- 46:39Speaker 6: You're playing guys that are in their 30s, and they're savvy.
- 46:42Speaker 6: They're smart. They're fast. They're strong. They're fully developed.
- 46:47Speaker 3: So you feel it instantly, especially at quarterback, like what
- 46:52Speaker 3: open is– In college compared to the NFL, it was
- 46:55Speaker 3: completely different. In the NFL, I mean, you rarely have
- 46:58Speaker 3: guys that are just running just naked in the middle
- 47:01Speaker 3: of the field. You know, like open is there's a
- 47:05Speaker 3: guy that's attached to his hip, but I can throw
- 47:07Speaker 3: him open in man coverage, stuff like that. So I'd
- 47:11Speaker 3: say the biggest difference is just the age gap and
- 47:13Speaker 3: how smart these players are. Like they, it's like a
- 47:18Speaker 3: chess game or chess match every single time you're on
- 47:20Speaker 3: the field. So instantly, I felt that instantly.
- 47:23Speaker 1: I was listening to Brock Purdy talk about 40% of
- 47:26Speaker 1: the time he doesn't actually see the receiver when he throws.
- 47:29Speaker 1: He just expects them to be somewhere. How quickly did
- 47:32Speaker 1: you have to adapt to that?
- 47:33Speaker 3: I think that is true. I think it's when you're
- 47:36Speaker 3: a little bit taller and you have an understanding of
- 47:41Speaker 3: when you truly own your offense. In the offense he's in,
- 47:44Speaker 3: he is completely mastered where the timing, all of that,
- 47:48Speaker 3: the amount of reps he's had in it. Like based
- 47:51Speaker 3: on this coverage, I know where this ball is going
- 47:53Speaker 3: to go and I know that this guy is going
- 47:54Speaker 3: to be there. I think that's kind of what he's
- 47:56Speaker 3: what the point he's trying to get across, where he
- 47:58Speaker 3: can process faster and get the ball out. Um, but
- 48:02Speaker 3: that is, that is an element, uh, that my, my
- 48:04Speaker 3: coach in Florida, uh, coach Napier, we had a meeting
- 48:07Speaker 3: one time and he was like, why didn't you, why
- 48:09Speaker 3: didn't you throw it to the check down? And I
- 48:11Speaker 3: literally could not see the check down at all. And
- 48:13Speaker 3: I was like, coach, I'm not gonna, I couldn't see him.
- 48:15Speaker 3: And he kind of like had a little smirk. He's like,
- 48:17Speaker 3: you gotta see him. So after that, I kind of
- 48:21Speaker 3: understood what he was talking about there as far as like, okay.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Based on what we're running and based on what the.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Defense is, you kind of get an understanding of where
- 48:29Speaker 3: these guys are going to be. And that's where the
- 48:30Speaker 3: throwing blind comes into play.
- 48:32Speaker 6: So, uh, yeah, very, very interesting, but it's, it's a
- 48:36Speaker 6: learning curve for sure.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Cause there's like a, when you play quarterback, there's an
- 48:40Speaker 3: element of like, I want to control the situation.
- 48:42Speaker 6: I want to control where this ball goes. I want
- 48:44Speaker 6: to be right.
- 48:45Speaker 3: But there's also a trust element where you trust your
- 48:48Speaker 3: teammates and you trust what your eyes are telling you
- 48:50Speaker 3: of where this ball is going to end up based
- 48:52Speaker 3: on the coverage. Um, So that's a that's a very
- 48:57Speaker 3: I can nerd out about that for a while. But
- 48:59Speaker 3: that's it's very true.
- 49:00Speaker 6: And there's a lot of layers to that.
- 49:02Speaker 1: What advice would you give a player that's transferring now,
- 49:05Speaker 1: especially going from a P4 school to another P4 school?
- 49:10Speaker 3: I think the biggest thing, regardless of position and regardless
- 49:15Speaker 3: of status, like if you were a highly ranked guy
- 49:19Speaker 3: in high school or not, if you have proven that
- 49:22Speaker 3: you can play on the field at another school and
- 49:23Speaker 3: you transfer, I think the biggest thing is earning respect
- 49:26Speaker 3: to your teammates. I think that's number one and will
- 49:29Speaker 3: forever be number one, is you've got to go in
- 49:31Speaker 3: there and just put your head down and work and
- 49:33Speaker 3: prove it to the guys that maybe they've been at
- 49:36Speaker 3: that school for years four or five years.
- 49:38Speaker 6: And they're an upperclassman. They're like, who's this? Who's this
- 49:40Speaker 6: kid coming in?
- 49:41Speaker 3: That's a senior trying to take my job or trying
- 49:45Speaker 3: to take my buddy's job. But the biggest thing is
- 49:48Speaker 3: you have to go in there and you have to
- 49:49Speaker 3: earn the respect of your peers. And you do that
- 49:52Speaker 3: by working. You do that by putting your head down
- 49:54Speaker 3: and just doing the right stuff every day. And then
- 49:57Speaker 3: obviously when you prove it to your team, then you
- 49:58Speaker 3: got to go prove it to your coaches. And then there's–
- 50:01Speaker 3: once you do that, then you can go in there
- 50:03Speaker 3: and lead. I think it's different when you're transferring as
- 50:05Speaker 3: a younger guy compared to transferring as an upperclassman. If
- 50:10Speaker 3: you're a younger guy, you just got to– you got
- 50:11Speaker 3: to transfer there, put your head down, work, and just
- 50:14Speaker 3: consistently do that until you get on the field and
- 50:16Speaker 3: you make plays.
- 50:18Speaker 1: What would the locker room, especially in Florida, what would
- 50:20Speaker 1: they have said about you as a leader when you
- 50:22Speaker 1: weren't around?
- 50:24Speaker 6: That's a good question.
- 50:25Speaker 3: I mean, I think the thing that I have always–
- 50:28Speaker 3: wanted to be known as was the same guy every day. Um,
- 50:31Speaker 3: a guy that anybody in the locker room could feel
- 50:35Speaker 3: that they could come up to me and talk to
- 50:36Speaker 3: me about anything, whether it was football or not. Um,
- 50:40Speaker 3: I I've always tried to really just get to know
- 50:43Speaker 3: my teammates, um, at a deeper level. So, uh, I
- 50:48Speaker 3: think that in my time at Florida, I did a
- 50:51Speaker 3: solid job of getting in there, um, proving it to
- 50:55Speaker 3: my teammates every single day, starting in spring ball through
- 50:58Speaker 3: the entire offseason. But I think that my goal would
- 51:01Speaker 3: be they would all sit back and be like, no,
- 51:03Speaker 3: he's the ultimate teammate. I think that's the thing that
- 51:07Speaker 3: is the greatest compliment ever.
- 51:09Speaker 1: So what's in the cards for you with the Texans?
- 51:12Speaker 1: Are you trying to be back before camp next year? Oh, yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:17Speaker 3: I mean, I tore my knee very early this season,
- 51:21Speaker 3: the first preseason game, so... I'll definitely be back, uh,
- 51:24Speaker 3: by camp. Hopefully the goal is by OTAs, um, by
- 51:28Speaker 3: the off season program. So my timeline is a little,
- 51:30Speaker 3: a little interesting because I have a lot more time
- 51:33Speaker 3: than the last time I tore my ACL. And I
- 51:36Speaker 3: was like, this is the timetable combines in four months,
- 51:39Speaker 3: pro days in five and then draft day and then
- 51:42Speaker 3: rookie mini camp. So, um, believe it or not, it's
- 51:46Speaker 3: kind of a sense of comfort. Like I got a
- 51:47Speaker 3: lot of time to do this the right way and,
- 51:49Speaker 3: and really rebuild this leg, um, from the ground up.
- 51:52Speaker 6: So, I'll be back by off season. That's, that's the goal.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Whenever you're injured, do you still get all the gear? Yep.
- 51:59Speaker 6: Still got my locker, still get all the gear. Uh,
- 52:02Speaker 6: it's a good, it's a good question.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:06Speaker 1: That'd be sad to lose out on all the gear.
- 52:07Speaker 1: That'd be sad. Well, Graham, I hope your rehab goes perfect.
- 52:11Speaker 1: I hope you get back to being healthy and really
- 52:13Speaker 1: appreciate the time and, uh, How do you feel about
- 52:16Speaker 1: the Texans? Not the greatest start at 0-4. There's only
- 52:19Speaker 1: been one team to actually make the playoffs, and that's
- 52:20Speaker 1: been the Texans. What's the locker room like right now?
- 52:25Speaker 3: Believe it or not, we were in this situation last year.
- 52:29Speaker 6: We were 0-3.
- 52:30Speaker 3: I think that we've got a great team with great guys.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Like you look at the situation, we're just a couple
- 52:35Speaker 3: of plays away every game. And the main thing is
- 52:38Speaker 3: just this next week, we got to go 1-0. I
- 52:40Speaker 3: think that's the message that everybody's going to be having
- 52:43Speaker 3: the entire week. So we got a lot of real,
- 52:46Speaker 3: real great people in that locker room and in this building.
- 52:49Speaker 6: So I think we're going to get it right.
- 52:51Speaker 2: All right, Grant.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Appreciate you, man. I hope you have a great rest
- 52:53Speaker 1: of the day.
- 52:54Speaker 6: I appreciate you.
- 52:54Speaker 1: All right, after... This weekend's games, what's the ceiling for
- 53:04Speaker 1: the Patriots, Kevin?
- 53:06Speaker 5: Oh, Super Bowl.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Stop it. Oh, man.
- 53:09Speaker 5: Do you remember last year when the Bills, I believe,
- 53:11Speaker 5: were 4-0? We played week five. I think it was
- 53:14Speaker 5: Sunday night football. We beat the Bills in Buffalo, turned
- 53:17Speaker 5: our season around. Next thing you know, in February, we're
- 53:20Speaker 5: playing the Super Bowl. That's what that win was this
- 53:22Speaker 5: past weekend.
- 53:24Speaker 6: Okay.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I would like to have a serious conversation. Okay, I'll
- 53:27Speaker 1: go to Eddie. Let's have a little more serious conversation.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Now that the Cowboys won in their 2-2, what's the ceiling?
- 53:32Speaker 4: I'm going to be realistic with you.
- 53:33Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I'm not going to go overboard and be mature and
- 53:37Speaker 4: tell you a correct answer. What I really believe.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Cowboys will beware.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I will never say this Super Bowl. That's stupid.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:43Speaker 4: NFC Championship. NFC Championship and we lose it because we suck.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Our defense still sucks.
- 53:51Speaker 1: There aren't many great teams in the NFC.
- 53:54Speaker 5: There really aren't.
- 53:54Speaker 1: I think there's three over in one division. And who else?
- 54:00Speaker 1: I mean. Yeah.
- 54:01Speaker 4: So you think the 49ers, Rams?
- 54:04Speaker 1: Seahawks.
- 54:04Speaker 4: Seahawks.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I think those three are legitimate NFC teams. Who else?
- 54:10Speaker 4: Other than the Cowboys. Panthers?
- 54:13Speaker 5: Saints?
- 54:16Speaker 1: Nobody from the South is legitimately good. That division... Although
- 54:21Speaker 1: not as weak as the AFC South. Although the Jaguars
- 54:24Speaker 1: are pretty good. Yeah. But the AFC South, Jaguars are
- 54:27Speaker 1: going to be good. Colts, I just don't believe in
- 54:29Speaker 1: the Colts still. And that game was in London. Does
- 54:32Speaker 1: it count? Facts.
- 54:34Speaker 4: Didn't happen.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Does it count? Obviously the Titans blow. And the
- 54:39Speaker 1: Texans are 0-4. Like that division's terrible. And if you
- 54:43Speaker 1: go to the NFC South, the Saints might be okay.
- 54:47Speaker 1: The Buccaneers, no. No.
- 54:50Speaker 4: The Falcons okay?
- 54:51Speaker 1: We're about to see. By the time you hear this,
- 54:55Speaker 1: I mean, the game's tonight, so I don't know when
- 54:56Speaker 1: people hear this, but I will see. I mean, is
- 54:58Speaker 1: Pennix that much of a game changer? They have the weapons,
- 55:00Speaker 1: but they're still no.
- 55:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 5: The Panthers are fun.
- 55:05Speaker 1: It's my team. I've rooted for them my whole life
- 55:06Speaker 1: in the last year. Of course.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Of course.
- 55:10Speaker 1: And so I would like for them to be, but
- 55:11Speaker 1: I don't feel like they're that.
- 55:13Speaker 3: No. No.
- 55:14Speaker 5: The only, and then he, look at the, I'm thinking
- 55:16Speaker 5: I'm going to see like the Lions.
- 55:17Speaker 1: No, we don't. No defense.
- 55:20Speaker 5: Packers suck.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Packers. Yes. It's weird. They're so bad.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Go ahead. Vikings.
- 55:25Speaker 6: The Bears.
- 55:25Speaker 5: No, I mean. If Caleb comes back and he's good
- 55:29Speaker 5: to go.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Okay. But still, I don't think they're those three teams. Right. Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 1: In the West type team, the Bears or the Vikings
- 55:38Speaker 1: have won four games. But again, for a 4-0 team.
- 55:42Speaker 1: As Eddie's kids would say, they're buns.
- 55:45Speaker 2: They are buns.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Exactly what they would say. They are buns.
- 55:47Speaker 1: So I think it's those three teams in the NFC,
- 55:50Speaker 1: but also, let's be honest, the Cowboys.
- 55:52Speaker 4: But so what I'm saying is realistic. And we won.
- 55:55Speaker 4: I told you, looking at the schedule ahead, we have
- 55:58Speaker 4: about six weeks worth of wins, right? We're one down.
- 56:02Speaker 4: Five more to go, baby.
- 56:03Speaker 5: We got the Bucs coming up. You're not even first
- 56:04Speaker 5: in your division right now.
- 56:05Speaker 4: We're not. The Giants are, which is so stupid.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Hey, Jameis is crazy to watch. James is just crazy.
- 56:13Speaker 1: But I think he's my favorite backup. I wouldn't mind having,
- 56:15Speaker 1: if he's your backup, giving him two to three weeks
- 56:17Speaker 1: to be the starter.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Because he can win two out of three games. That
- 56:20Speaker 1: third game is going to be awful.
- 56:22Speaker 6: Yes.
- 56:23Speaker 1: But I think he can go out and win games.
- 56:25Speaker 1: As evident here. Yeah. So, okay. He's funny. Mike, what's
- 56:32Speaker 1: the ceiling on the Texas Longhorns?
- 56:36Speaker 4: I think championship.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Okay. We got, we got a championship. We got a
- 56:41Speaker 1: Superbowl and we got an NFC championship.
- 56:43Speaker 5: That's right. Just realistic talk around here.
- 56:47Speaker 1: And you, what do I have? Uh, I was hoping
- 56:50Speaker 1: for that Russian plague to kill everybody. So Arkansas doesn't
- 56:52Speaker 1: have to have a season season ending. Yeah. Everybody just
- 56:55Speaker 1: has to go in their houses. I'm really rooting for that.
- 56:58Speaker 1: A pandemic. I'm rooting for a pandemic. Shut it down.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I'm rooting for Rudy Gobert to start slapping microphones. Shut
- 57:05Speaker 1: it all down. All right, that's it. Thank you, guys.
- 57:08Speaker 1: We hope you have a great week. We will see
- 57:10Speaker 1: you guys later on this week for sure. And that
- 57:13Speaker 1: is all. Please blow the whistle.
- 57:14Speaker 4: There you go.
- 57:15Speaker 1: That was weak. Yeah.
- 57:17Speaker 4: It sounded all weak. I think we ended on a
- 57:19Speaker 4: low note. Talking about the Razorbacks. You want to bring
- 57:24Speaker 4: it up again?
- 57:25Speaker 1: No. I have no part of me that feels it's
- 57:30Speaker 1: going to get better. No hope.
- 57:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:32Speaker 1: So I don't feel sad about it. I am who
- 57:34Speaker 1: I am.
- 57:34Speaker 4: But it's just kind of a dark cloud.
- 57:37Speaker 1: It is a dark, geographically located region. A cloud moves.
- 57:43Speaker 1: I live here. Yeah, you're right. I live here. We're
- 57:46Speaker 1: not moving. Gotcha. You ever heard of Pangea? Yes. The
- 57:50Speaker 1: ultimate continent when everything was together and it slowly broke
- 57:52Speaker 1: away and it was slow. It's Pangea.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Was that real?
- 57:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, depending on what science you look at.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Because the continents go together. Like a puzzle. Yeah, if
- 58:02Speaker 1: you push them together.
- 58:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we are. We're not going anywhere, but
- 58:06Speaker 1: slowly we may. We may break apart slowly. All right,
- 58:08Speaker 1: that's it. Thank you guys. We'll see you later on
- 58:09Speaker 1: this week. Bye, everybody. Theme song written by Bobby Bones.
