Speaker 1: In the hands of Edwards back to Latsun's Latson to
• 0:06
Speaker 1: tie it up. She'll have to earn it at this strike, and.
• 0:13
Speaker 2: I love that Don Staley drawing up a play for
• 0:16
Speaker 2: their bucket getter. Blatson has not had the greatest game,
• 0:21
Speaker 2: but has stayed aggressive.
• 0:23
Speaker 1: In this second half.
• 0:24
Speaker 2: Has won that matchup between Rory Harmon in the paint,
• 0:28
Speaker 2: putting pressure on the defense, giving back to the Freako line.
• 0:39
Speaker 1: Blatson now six for seven at the line, fifteen point
• 0:50
Speaker 1: one lat Texas with three ton outs.
• 1:01
Speaker 2: Texas has got to run this offensive set with a
• 1:03
Speaker 2: little bit more pace.
• 1:04
Speaker 1: The clock is ticking down. Pardon the players, eh, clown.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: Just impressive, JB impressive. We've talked this half about how
• 1:24
Speaker 2: she hasn't called her own number, she hasn't been aggressive
• 1:27
Speaker 2: in taking shots, but she's been efficient. Right there, nine
• 1:32
Speaker 2: as sists, but here clock dwelling and down.
• 1:35
Speaker 1: Where do you want the ball.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: In your star point guard hands? She's been the best
• 1:41
Speaker 2: decision maker on the floor. Calm, cool and collected. I
• 1:45
Speaker 2: mean listen. Coach Schaeffer was emotional talking about how well
• 1:48
  Speaker 2: Harmon played yesterday.
• 1:50
Speaker 1: He's got to be proud of her today.
• 1:53
Speaker 2: One of the best point guards, him calling her the
• 1:55
Speaker 2: best point guard in the country.
• 1:59
Speaker 1: The only question how many fractions are left for South
• 2:02
Speaker 1: Carolina but not fouling deflected and only point one left
• 2:11
Speaker 1: for now Rayah Cunningham at six foot four on the ball,
• 2:20
Speaker 1: Raven Johnson to throw it in and it's over Texas
• 2:24
Speaker 1: Williams the players there on sixty six sixty four on
• 2:32
Speaker 1: the Knight's that Rory Harmon made history. She also hits
• 2:37
Speaker 1: the winning basket Texas Lawnhorns.
• 2:43
Speaker 2: Just battled through adversity, only coming in really with a
• 2:46
Speaker 2: seven man rotation, putting the ball in.
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: Rory Harmon's hands.
• 2:52
Speaker 2: Called her own number at the end, but had nine
• 2:54
Speaker 2: assists throughout this ballgame. Madison Booker heating up in that
• 2:59
Speaker 2: fourth quarter I think was the difference as well in
• 3:01
Speaker 2: Lee maintaining her aggression. I mean, all smiles all the way.
• 3:07
Speaker 2: It's a great measuring stick in November to be able
• 3:10
Speaker 2: to do this against a top two team in South Carolina.
• 3:14
Speaker 2: Just calm, cool, collected as the time almost expires.
• 3:21
Speaker 1: What a shot. You know, It's been impressive to see
• 3:25
Speaker 1: in person. She takes it all in stride, but you
• 3:27
Speaker 1: look at the emotions of those around her. The coach
• 3:31
Speaker 1: of the support staff. They all want this moment. They've
• 3:34
Speaker 1: craved for Rory Harmon because of what she means, the
• 3:37
Speaker 1: transformational impact she's had for Vic Schaeffer in the Texas
• 3:41
Speaker 1: long ones. When we talk about that they were going
• 3:43
Speaker 1: to be good things. Regardless of the outcome of this game.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: For any team, you're gonna be.
• 3:47
Speaker 2: Able to measure yourself up against different styles of play.
• 3:50
Speaker 2: You're gonna be able to measure yourself up against teams
• 3:52
Speaker 2: that are definitely going to go deep in March, and
• 3:54
Speaker 2: Texas being able to have a big three. Lee has
• 3:56
Speaker 2: emerged as that third score, third playmaker. You talk about
• 4:01
Speaker 2: Madison Booker and her growth and development into this season,
• 4:05
Speaker 2: Rory Harmon, I mean, just to be at this place
• 4:09
Speaker 2: after making the final four last year, you gotta be
• 4:14
Speaker 2: proud if you're Vick Schaeffer where your team is before
• 4:17
  Speaker 2: conference play.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: Well, she is the hero in the end, But how
• 4:29
Speaker 1: about what Madison Booker did in crunch time to put
• 4:33
Speaker 1: Texas in position to leave. She was clutching that fourth.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: Yes, Madison Booker not as efficient as we're used to
• 4:40
Speaker 2: seeing her in this tournament, but continuing.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: To stick with it.
• 4:43
Speaker 2: One thing you know a Vic Shaffer team is going
• 4:46
Speaker 2: to do is they're going to defend, So her staying
• 4:48
Speaker 2: with it on the defensive end causing problems. And then
• 4:51
Speaker 2: in that fourth quarter that run where she hit four
• 4:54
Speaker 2: straight field goals really ignited that Longhorn's offense that was
• 4:58
Speaker 2: desperate and with the wors weren't drought of three minutes
• 5:01
Speaker 2: and forty two seconds.
• 5:03
Speaker 1: She had eight points through three quarters. Eight in the
• 5:06
Speaker 1: closing frame. Let's send it to Chelsea Shiad for the
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: trophy presentation.
• 5:11
Speaker 3: What a performance by the Texas Longhorns. And now to
• 5:21
Speaker 3: present the Guy Co Players Era Championship Trophy is Seth Berger,
• 5:26
Speaker 3: CEO of Players Era Longhorns. Please accept your trophy.
• 5:35
Speaker 2: Coach, you're sure every thank you.
• 5:45
Speaker 4: Here come great, come here meets your trophy.
• 5:49
  Speaker 5: Let's go dot.
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: Coach, come up.
• 5:57
Speaker 3: You call Rory Harmon the best guard in the country.
• 6:02
Speaker 5: How do you describe how clutch she is?
• 6:06
Speaker 6: Well, I've been watching it for her four and a
• 6:09
Speaker 6: half years, are going on four and a half and
• 6:11
  Speaker 6: the kids just.
• 6:12
Speaker 1: Got it in her veins.
• 6:13
Speaker 6: She is tough as nails, but she's a great example
• 6:16
Speaker 6: of you invest in your craft in that moment, she's
• 6:21
Speaker 6: able to make that shot, and she's made it in
• 6:23
Speaker 6: her mind, she's made it actually in games before. But
• 6:27
Speaker 6: it's just a really special team when you have a
• 6:29
Speaker 6: point guard like that.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: When we had the chance at the end, I had screwed.
• 6:36
Speaker 6: Up the possession before. I should have kept it in
• 6:38
Speaker 6: her hands, in her booker, and we tried to run
• 6:41
Speaker 6: something that we did a lot of success with, but
• 6:44
Speaker 6: when it came time for the last shot, it's always
• 6:47
Speaker 6: going to be her book.
• 6:49
Speaker 5: Coach, you called this tournament a gauntlet.
• 6:52
Speaker 3: You had to take down the number two and number
• 6:54
Speaker 3: three team to win this championship.
• 6:56
Speaker 5: You got emotional yesterday talking about how special this team is.
• 6:59
Speaker 5: What does this win mean to you?
• 7:01
Speaker 6: Well, you just, you know, you look at the two
• 7:03
Speaker 6: teams that we beat, how good those teams are, how
• 7:06
Speaker 6: well coached they are, how many All Americans that they have,
• 7:10
Speaker 6: and then you look at us. We've got three kids
• 7:12
Speaker 6: out that are injured, typically kids forty minutes. My guards
• 7:18
Speaker 6: are just I'm sure they're gonna want a couple of
• 7:19
Speaker 6: days off, you know, coming up, and they have earned it.
• 7:23
Speaker 6: But it is hard to win, period when you beat
• 7:28
Speaker 6: number three and then back it up a day later
• 7:30
Speaker 6: with number two again. Those teams are so good, they're
• 7:34
Speaker 6: going to win a lot of games. But this group
• 7:36
Speaker 6: right here down south in Texas, we call that Texas fight,
• 7:41
Speaker 6: and this group has.
• 7:42
Speaker 5: Got it well earned.
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: Coach.
• 7:44
Speaker 5: Congratulations, all right, Fridge Lord and look at porns.
• 7:48
Speaker 3: And now to present the MVP Award, we welcome back
• 7:52
  Speaker 3: Seth Berger.
• 7:57
Speaker 5: And it is to Rory Harmony. How nice is that?
• 8:16
  Speaker 1: It's really nice?
• 8:20
  Speaker 5: Rory?
• 8:20
Speaker 3: What is it about the biggest games that makes you
• 8:24
Speaker 3: play at such a high level.
• 8:26
Speaker 4: These people behind me, they give me the most confidence,
• 8:30
Speaker 4: But we prepare for moments like this. We're just really
• 8:32
Speaker 4: excited to play in this atmosphere and we're really grateful
• 8:35
Speaker 4: that we were invited here just to win the whole thing.
• 8:37
Speaker 3: And Rory, you're now the all time assist leader at
• 8:40
Speaker 3: the University of Texas.
• 8:43
Speaker 5: What does that mean to you. It's a pretty big honor.
• 8:47
Speaker 4: That means my teammates are making a lot of shots,
• 8:50
Speaker 4: So all thanks to them, just all thanks to my
• 8:53
Speaker 4: whole team. Honestly, I couldn't do it without them.
• 8:55
Speaker 3: So yeah, all right, we're congratulations once again. Let's hear
• 8:59
Speaker 3: it for the twenty twenty five Geico Players eraon Champions
