- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Star Wars.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Alize your home on the Geek Ultimate Allons podcast net
- 0:25Speaker 2: work for any and all things Star Wars. I'm your host,
- 0:29Speaker 2: like always Katie, and with me as for the usual
- 0:32Speaker 2: is Clay Clay. We've already kind of talked about this,
- 0:35Speaker 2: but let's tell the artists. How are you doing tonight?
- 0:38Speaker 1: I'm doing pretty good. There is some developments happening in
- 0:42Speaker 1: my personal life and I will be able to share
- 0:45Speaker 1: that when everything is more concrete. But I just realized this.
- 0:49Speaker 1: We are getting to a more normalized weather system, which
- 0:55Speaker 1: is causing me to actually use the AC. We haven't
- 0:59Speaker 1: used the see in this room for quite some time.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Can you hear that?
- 1:03Speaker 2: I don't hear it?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Sweet? Even better? Okay, So yeah, yeah, some some other
- 1:09Speaker 1: stuff is happening outside of Volume Comics. Everybody who has
- 1:14Speaker 1: followed Volume Commics, I want to thank you guys. That
- 1:17Speaker 1: is still in development and we hope to get that
- 1:21Speaker 1: up and running very very soon. But you know, we'll
- 1:24Speaker 1: see how it goes. But there's other personal stuff that
- 1:27Speaker 1: I will be able to share soon ish maybe. But yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: we are going to be talking about episodes five and
- 1:38Speaker 1: six of mal There's not really a whole lot of news.
- 1:43Speaker 2: There's one piece of news that we'll talk about. But
- 1:50Speaker 2: first things first, I just want to say, guys, today's
- 1:53Speaker 2: April twenty second, when we are recording this. We are
- 1:57Speaker 2: one month away from our live review of The Mandamorian
- 2:03Speaker 2: and the Grog Who on the Geekers YouTube channel at
- 2:06Speaker 2: eight pm Eastern statary time.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, we are so mark that on calendars.
- 2:12Speaker 2: This is the first time in.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Five five years because June six years five years that
- 2:22Speaker 3: the Star Wars Alliance crew gets the Friday night flots
- 2:27Speaker 3: on the geek First YouTube channel.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That is crazy.
- 2:31Speaker 2: You're gonna do this. I want to celebrate. I want
- 2:34Speaker 2: people in the chat like we're gonna have the blast.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So it's gonna be I'm excited YouTube. Yes, now I
- 2:42Speaker 1: will say that I I texted you, did you buy
- 2:45Speaker 1: your ticket?
- 2:47Speaker 2: I have not bought my ticket because we have to
- 2:49Speaker 2: schedule a babysitter.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I have not bought my ticket either. And the way
- 2:55Speaker 1: that me and Abby have been doing things, Abby has
- 2:58Speaker 1: not been soon super crazy about watching anything Superhero and
- 3:08Speaker 1: yeah ip related together, So I've been watching that on
- 3:11Speaker 1: my own and then when it comes to Disney. Plus
- 3:13Speaker 1: we all watch it as a family. But we have
- 3:16Speaker 1: been watching family movies at the theater. We took Amberlin
- 3:21Speaker 1: to go see, of course, Utopia too when it came out. Uh.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And then just here recently we watched Super Mario Galaxy, right,
- 3:31Speaker 1: was it super Mario Galazy? Yeah, super Mario Galaxy, uh,
- 3:34Speaker 1: with Amberlin as well. Uh. And we've been enjoying that
- 3:38Speaker 1: time together. So I don't know. I want to watch
- 3:41Speaker 1: Mandoin Grogu by myself to see if it is appropriate
- 3:47Speaker 1: to bring Amberlin in because she she likes Grogu. Whenever
- 3:51Speaker 1: she sees Grogu, she's like, oh, Grogu. I'm like okay,
- 3:55Speaker 1: Like I can kind of tell her to close her
- 3:59Speaker 1: eyes or leave the room whenever I'm watching Mando on
- 4:04Speaker 1: our TV at home. Can't necessarily do that with a
- 4:08Speaker 1: big screen at a theater. So I'm gonna watch it first,
- 4:11Speaker 1: see how it is, and then we'll see if we
- 4:15Speaker 1: can all go see it together.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I think Mara is too young because obviously, as
- 4:20Speaker 2: I've told y'all, she loves Grogu. Right now, she wears
- 4:23Speaker 2: Grogu shirts like three times a week to day care.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So I know she would love it, at least the
- 4:32Speaker 2: Grogu parts, but I don't think she's old enough to
- 4:36Speaker 2: go to a theater just yet, so we will probably
- 4:41Speaker 2: show her Mandoin Grogu when it comes to Disney. Plus,
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think our plan right now. I told Matt, I
- 4:49Speaker 2: was like, we have to figure out Thursday night because
- 4:51Speaker 2: we're going to see it Thursday night, and then I
- 4:56Speaker 2: took Friday off so I can go see it and
- 4:59Speaker 2: do the review watch on my own on like during
- 5:04Speaker 2: the day on Friday, so then I can be prepared
- 5:07Speaker 2: with notes and stuff. So that is my plan for
- 5:13Speaker 2: the watch along. But the piece of news that we
- 5:20Speaker 2: have to talk about Clay on May fourth. It was
- 5:26Speaker 2: just announced on May fourth that Imax and Lucasfilm will
- 5:32Speaker 2: be doing special look events at select Imax theaters around
- 5:37Speaker 2: the world on Star Wars Day, featuring exclusive, never before
- 5:39Speaker 2: seen footage and special fan giveaways. These screenings will happen
- 5:44Speaker 2: at seven pm Local Standard time. Uh, it looks like
- 5:49Speaker 2: they are available on fandango dot com. It does look
- 5:58Speaker 2: like it's free. At least I thought this was a
- 6:01Speaker 2: pay event.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But this was news to me. Where where where are
- 6:08Speaker 1: you reading this? What is what? Is this? What is this?
- 6:10Speaker 2: This is on Star Wars. I'm pulling this up off
- 6:14Speaker 2: of Star Wars dot com. Okay, or I pulled this
- 6:21Speaker 2: up off of Star Wars news Net. But uh, star
- 6:25Speaker 2: Wars has it as well, like I saw it on
- 6:28Speaker 2: Star Wars' Instagram account at line.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Oh okay, okay, okay, So here we go. Uh, here
- 6:37Speaker 1: we go. It's a twenty five minute iMX fan preview.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah all right, So it says here get an exclusive
- 6:49Speaker 1: special look at the upcoming film Men Luring Grogu weeks
- 6:53Speaker 1: before the big release. So I want to know how
- 6:57Speaker 1: do you feel about these? Because we have seen big
- 7:03Speaker 1: events like New York Comic Con, San Diego Comic Con,
- 7:06Speaker 1: Star Wars Celebration, shared trailers, and then from time to
- 7:10Speaker 1: time we will get the like oh, the first TV
- 7:14Speaker 1: spot or the first look, you know those types of things.
- 7:17Speaker 1: This is twenty five minutes of the movie.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Correct, and it does look like it's free. I had
- 7:26Speaker 2: very big thoughts because originally I thought this was a
- 7:30Speaker 2: ticketed event, and I was like, you put this special look,
- 7:34Speaker 2: like this is the special look. I'm betting that goes
- 7:37Speaker 2: onto Disney Plus right now for all of the movies
- 7:39Speaker 2: that are going into theaters. Yeah, Like, if you look,
- 7:41Speaker 2: there's a special look for Devilaware's product too. Right now.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I was like, there's no way you're gonna charge me
- 7:47Speaker 2: twenty bucks to go see twenty five minutes.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Well, and like Peter, the last time I remember doing
- 7:54Speaker 1: one of these was bvs. Batman versus Superman. Abby completely
- 8:01Speaker 1: made fun of me for doing it because I dragged
- 8:03Speaker 1: her along with me. We went to the Imax Theater
- 8:08Speaker 1: in San Antonio. We stood in line and we literally
- 8:13Speaker 1: just watched the extended trailer that was Yeah, we got
- 8:17Speaker 1: some posters, we got some little knickknacks, but that was it,
- 8:21Speaker 1: and of course the special message from Zack Snyder. I
- 8:27Speaker 1: haven't done it since that was literally ten years ago.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and so like I don't remember the last time,
- 8:35Speaker 2: but I think it makes sense. Knowing that people aren't charging,
- 8:40Speaker 2: like Lucaslm's not charging for it, it makes more sense
- 8:43Speaker 2: to do this and like have it be like a
- 8:46Speaker 2: little May fourth celebration kind of thing. I just put
- 8:50Speaker 2: in my information on the fan Dango site. It doesn't
- 8:52Speaker 2: look like this is available in South Carolina, So fuck you,
- 8:56Speaker 2: Lucas Film. I'm just kidding, but like.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I guess that would make it fake to actually look
- 9:01Speaker 1: to see if this is here in my town as well.
- 9:07Speaker 1: But like we have seen, and I guess this is
- 9:12Speaker 1: something that we haven't really talked about because we were
- 9:15Speaker 1: waiting to talk about predictions and everything else. Yep, Mandoin
- 9:19Speaker 1: Grogu does not look like it's looking the best sales wise,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and I think this is their attempt to hype people
- 9:30Speaker 1: up well.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And other thing that I think is not in the
- 9:35Speaker 2: predictions currently is the fact that this is releasing Memorial
- 9:43Speaker 2: Day weekend, so it's not taking the predictions that I've seen,
- 9:50Speaker 2: are not taking the Monday sales into account or that
- 9:53Speaker 2: it's a holiday weekend. It just says basic, yeah, that's
- 9:58Speaker 2: sales structures. So it'll be interesting to see how that changed.
- 10:03Speaker 2: But seventy million dollars. Seventy million dollars is still not
- 10:05Speaker 2: that bad.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It's not bad I for IPS. Right now, I'm curious
- 10:12Speaker 1: to see how the Thursday sales will go, because of
- 10:18Speaker 1: course everybody knows Thursday is majority going to be the
- 10:23Speaker 1: hardcore fans, the people who are like, hey, I cannot wait,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I need to watch this now, so I don't get
- 10:28Speaker 1: spoiled about it in the future. That's what Thursday is
- 10:32Speaker 1: kind of there for if Thursday has a good good
- 10:46Speaker 1: enough amount, I would say, and I say good enough
- 10:49Speaker 1: as in like standards for people who follow these types
- 10:53Speaker 1: of box office numbers. Yeah, I think the Monday can
- 10:58Speaker 1: hold them over. Now, when does Devil Waters product release?
- 11:06Speaker 2: May second?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Oo?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, it opens not this weekend, but next weekend.
- 11:15Speaker 1: It's next weekend, and then man doin Groid Because here's
- 11:19Speaker 1: the thing I think, I genuinely think, and this is crazy.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I just recently in my life watched Devil risprouda. Within
- 11:27Speaker 1: the last like year and a half, I think I
- 11:31Speaker 1: have watched it.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I watched it this past weekend for the first time.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I think that has enough of a cult following to
- 11:41Speaker 1: literally last the entire month of May.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I don't know, because I feel like Disney has been
- 11:49Speaker 2: pulling stuff within a month, so I feel like it's
- 11:53Speaker 2: gonna be frontloaded a little bit. Also true, I did
- 11:57Speaker 2: pull up, so I pulled up Fantastic four opening weekend,
- 12:01Speaker 2: Superman's opening weekend, and Thunderbolts opening weekend. I would consider
- 12:05Speaker 2: Mando and Grogu more along the lines of Thunderbolts. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 2: in this case, Fantastic Four did an estimated one hundred
- 12:14Speaker 2: and eighteen million in the US. Okay, Superman did one
- 12:18Speaker 2: hundred and twenty two million opening million in the US. Yeah,
- 12:23Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty two million. Thunderbolts did seventy six million.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, me, Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I think with it being an offshoot and not a
- 12:38Speaker 2: main team, I feel like seventy million prediction wise reasonable
- 12:44Speaker 2: at this point.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 2: So, and we will obviously see, Like so, if they're
- 12:51Speaker 2: doing the Special Look event in Imax on May fourth,
- 12:53Speaker 2: I would imagine the Special Look is going to come
- 12:55Speaker 2: to Disney Plus, so we might get some numbers on
- 12:58Speaker 2: that too, and we might see things increase. From my
- 13:01Speaker 2: see things decrease, I don't know. I feel like Starfighter
- 13:05Speaker 2: is the true test of the Star Wars box office,
- 13:11Speaker 2: and not necessarily this.
- 13:13Speaker 1: So my question, my question to you would be everybody's
- 13:18Speaker 1: saying seventy million is kind of like, oh, that's very low,
- 13:23Speaker 1: that's not looking great. Of course, it is technically the
- 13:26Speaker 1: lowest of every Star Wars film that has hit theaters.
- 13:33Speaker 1: We don't know what Disney or lucasfilm would count as
- 13:37Speaker 1: a rock star success for Mando and Grogu, What do
- 13:43Speaker 1: you think a rock Star success would be for that weekend? You?
- 13:52Speaker 2: I feel like rock stars success, you're hitting like a
- 13:56Speaker 2: hundred million is. I feel like I don't. I have
- 14:01Speaker 2: never seen that. I have never thought that this movie
- 14:04Speaker 2: is gonna make big box office numbers. I feel like
- 14:10Speaker 2: that's left to something that doesn't have to have homework,
- 14:15Speaker 2: because we still don't know how Mandoin Grogu is going
- 14:17Speaker 2: to handle the transition from streaming to theatrical and I
- 14:24Speaker 2: think that's people's hesitation. So that's why I feel like
- 14:28Speaker 2: Starfighter is more of a test of the Star Wars
- 14:32Speaker 2: box office than Mandoin grogo is. I just Starfighter doesn't
- 14:37Speaker 2: have homework that you have to go watch. Yeah, And
- 14:41Speaker 2: just as another perspective for everybody, Project how Mary earned
- 14:49Speaker 2: eighty point six million dollars in the US opening weekend,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and what Super Mario Galaxy movie opening weekend? What did
- 15:05Speaker 2: that make? Super Mario earned one hundred thirty one million
- 15:11Speaker 2: at the box office. It's opening weekend. So I feel
- 15:19Speaker 2: like in Project hell Mary was like said like, oh,
- 15:22Speaker 2: this is like a box office success here. And obviously
- 15:25Speaker 2: Project hell Mary's budget very different compared to Mandoin Grogu.
- 15:30Speaker 2: But you also have more merchandising rates for Mandoin Grogu
- 15:35Speaker 2: than Project Till Mary.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm gonna choose to continue to think positively,
- 15:44Speaker 2: but again, I'm not concerned about this box office. I
- 15:49Speaker 2: truly do believe Mandoin Grogu's gonna make its budget back,
- 15:53Speaker 2: which should therefore be considered a success. Starfighter is the
- 15:58Speaker 2: indicator to me, can Star Wars go back to theaters,
- 16:03Speaker 2: because that is an original story?
- 16:05Speaker 1: I think so too. I do think that Disney and
- 16:09Speaker 1: Lucasfilm think the same. I think that Manduin Grogu is
- 16:14Speaker 1: literally just a test for what a Disney plus ip
- 16:23Speaker 1: can do in theaters. Yeah, because we have not yet
- 16:26Speaker 1: seen that happen for Disney yet. I also asked everybody
- 16:32Speaker 1: at the GUA. I said, what do you guys think
- 16:33Speaker 1: the ideal success numbers for Manduin Grogu would be opening weekend?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Travis did say Snell He said, depends on the budget, obviously,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but without knowing one hundred plus, So he's on the
- 16:47Speaker 1: same page as you. Anything under it is, Yeah, anything
- 16:52Speaker 1: under is pretty underwhelming for the first Star Wars movie
- 16:56Speaker 1: in seven plus years.
- 16:59Speaker 2: The production budget, according to screen rant and I believe
- 17:04Speaker 2: we said this before, but just since Nell had said
- 17:07Speaker 2: that overall production budget was one hundred and sixty six
- 17:13Speaker 2: point four million dollars with a tax credit of twenty
- 17:17Speaker 2: one point seventy five million dollars. It is the lowest
- 17:22Speaker 2: production budget that a Star Wars movie has had since
- 17:29Speaker 2: the prequel trilogy.
- 17:30Speaker 1: So you said that budget was around what one.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Hundred and sixty six point four billion dollars.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Billion with a B million, Okay, I was like what,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I was like that that movie is going under real quick.
- 17:50Speaker 1: If it's billion.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Forst Awakens two hundred and forty five million, Rogue one,
- 17:55Speaker 2: A Star Wars Story two hundred million, Last Jedi three
- 18:00Speaker 2: one hundred and seventeen million, Solo two hundred and seventy
- 18:04Speaker 2: five million, Rise of Skywalker to seventy five million, and
- 18:10Speaker 2: then as we've said, Vando and Grogu one hundred and
- 18:13Speaker 2: sixty six point four million dollars.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Now, how about this, since we've kind of kind of
- 18:21Speaker 1: we kind of dove into these numbers and started talking
- 18:24Speaker 1: predictions or everything, and we'll get into the nitty gritty
- 18:28Speaker 1: of our predictions closer to the release. Do you think
- 18:36Speaker 1: it'll explode overseas or be steady. What do you think.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It could? I could see it going either way because
- 18:50Speaker 2: I feel like Middle East and China you could have
- 18:53Speaker 2: issues because Pedro Pascal is the star and he is
- 19:01Speaker 2: pro LGBTQ personas, so you could see Middle East and
- 19:10Speaker 2: China potentially going it. Nope, we're not showing him kind
- 19:14Speaker 2: of thing, but obviously very popular everywhere else, I feel
- 19:21Speaker 2: like right now, so you could see a spike out
- 19:25Speaker 2: of South America for instance.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I'm terrible with box office predictions.
- 19:33Speaker 4: What we've seen so so, of course overseas, specifically in
- 19:39Speaker 4: China and in Japan, we've seen more movies with.
- 19:45Speaker 1: The mascot esque characters that like groguh, they seem to
- 19:55Speaker 1: pop off pretty well, so I'm wondering if that will
- 20:01Speaker 1: be the case here. But we haven't really seen any
- 20:06Speaker 1: other predictions worldwide, and I don't even know what the
- 20:09Speaker 1: release schedule is for Mando it comes to overseas.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know either. I can't find a direct
- 20:22Speaker 2: source for this, but it looks like Fantastic Four made
- 20:28Speaker 2: two hundred and eighteen million opening weekend, so at extra
- 20:34Speaker 2: one hundred million for Fantastic Four would again probably not
- 20:38Speaker 2: like the best comparison. But if we look at Thunderbolts,
- 20:43Speaker 2: go back to Thunderbolts opening weekend international, the opening international
- 20:57Speaker 2: box office for Thunderbolts is eighty six point one million. Okay, okay,
- 21:04Speaker 2: So total opening box office weekend of one hundred and
- 21:08Speaker 2: sixty two point one million.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, If that's the case, I think that Mando
- 21:21Speaker 1: and Grogu can break a hundred.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I think yeah, it's definitely gonna break one hundred worldwide.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I don't know if it will break one hundred in
- 21:31Speaker 2: the US, I don't think it will. Yeah, internationally, it
- 21:38Speaker 2: would definitely break a hundred million.
- 21:41Speaker 1: All right, Well, we'll have to wait and see and
- 21:44Speaker 1: again we will probably get a little bit more concrete
- 21:47Speaker 1: numbers once we get closer to the actual release and
- 21:53Speaker 1: when we actually talk about our predictions. But I think
- 21:58Speaker 1: with that, is there any other news.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I saw on Star Wars news Net?
- 22:10Speaker 1: I believe that is everything that I sent you recently.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Also my request on net Galley, it's still pending. I
- 22:22Speaker 1: have no idea how or when they are going to
- 22:27Speaker 1: update that.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I was planning on emailing, but I still haven't even
- 22:32Speaker 2: called my UH insurance to figure out why they won't
- 22:35Speaker 2: give you my my grain events. So I'm just like
- 22:39Speaker 2: procrastinating everything.
- 22:42Speaker 1: But also priorities, you know, books or medication.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Note of books, guys, Dungeon Crawler Carl is a big
- 22:56Speaker 2: hype right now on the TikTok in the instagram. I'm
- 23:00Speaker 2: here to tell you that you should believe the hype because.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Did you get into it?
- 23:07Speaker 2: I did.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I have been avoiding it because, guys, whenever it comes
- 23:12Speaker 1: to books, I am such a hipster. I'll be completely honest.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Every single hype book I stay away from because I
- 23:19Speaker 1: just I'm scared of being disappointed. I think more.
- 23:21Speaker 2: No. Okay, and I know you have dropped Audible, but
- 23:25Speaker 2: the audiobook is only available.
- 23:27Speaker 5: On Audible right now. Really, yes, it is an Audible exclusive.
- 23:31Speaker 5: It is also on Kindle unlimited. So the e book
- 23:34Speaker 5: is available on Kindle unlimited, y'all. I could not get
- 23:41Speaker 5: into this book. About six months ago.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I finally was like, you know, people keep telling me,
- 23:46Speaker 2: like I had somebody message me and go, Katie, have
- 23:49Speaker 2: you read Dungeon Carlo Carl. You absolutely need to read
- 23:51Speaker 2: Dungeon color car and you need to listen to the narration.
- 23:56Speaker 2: It was magical It was exactly what I needed for
- 24:00Speaker 2: like a very a very dumb book where I don't
- 24:06Speaker 2: have to think about things too much, and I think
- 24:09Speaker 2: there's very easy for me to follow. There's seven books.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Out seven Yeah, I was just about to say, I
- 24:14Speaker 1: think there's eight books.
- 24:16Speaker 2: The eighth book comes out in three weeks.
- 24:20Speaker 1: So man, he is just pumping those books out. Seventh
- 24:24Speaker 1: when it came out last year.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I think he's doing them about every six months. It
- 24:30Speaker 2: looks like, yeah, which if that's the only thing you're writing,
- 24:34Speaker 2: which it looks like it is, I feel like that's realistic.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 2: But like Rebecca Yarros, for instance, she puts out about
- 24:42Speaker 2: two books a year. Yeah, So I feel like that's
- 24:46Speaker 2: realistic numbers, but very fun book. The Narrator is absolutely hysterical.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I love it. So if you have not gotten into it,
- 25:01Speaker 2: I'd just like to tell you that it was great.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And there's multiple different things that you can get into, guys.
- 25:07Speaker 1: When it comes to Dungeon Carl Dungeon Crawler Carl, there
- 25:12Speaker 1: is the uh, the book, there is the graphic novel,
- 25:16Speaker 1: and there is also the web tunes that is also online.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Because I thought this was right up my brother's Alley
- 25:24Speaker 2: because it's like very video gamey and stuff, and so
- 25:27Speaker 2: I sent him a text. I was like, I need
- 25:29Speaker 2: you to know you don't have to read this, but
- 25:32Speaker 2: I got the first audio book for Dungeon Carler Carl
- 25:36Speaker 2: if you want to listen to it. Because my mom
- 25:38Speaker 2: and I are like on the Amazon family. We both
- 25:41Speaker 2: pay for Amazon, but we link so we can get
- 25:43Speaker 2: each other's libraries. Yeah, I was like, I think this
- 25:49Speaker 2: would totally be your jam and he was like, yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 2: I've been reading the web tunes for the past six month.
- 25:53Speaker 2: It's phenomenal.
- 25:55Speaker 1: So the uh oh shoot, what was I gonna say?
- 25:59Speaker 1: The the genre is technically, uh light RPG.
- 26:05Speaker 2: So is that how you pronounced that because I've always
- 26:07Speaker 2: pronounced that lit RPG.
- 26:09Speaker 1: No, it's it's it's light RPG.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Okay, what what? Why is it light RPG?
- 26:16Speaker 1: I have no idea. Okay, I like, it's same thing
- 26:21Speaker 1: as like the the manga novels. They're called light novels,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and it's it's literally l E T light novels. I
- 26:30Speaker 1: don't know if it's an abbreviation for something, but it's
- 26:33Speaker 1: it's l a T light novels.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Interesting, but we are gonna be.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Talking about episodes five and six of mal shadow Lord,
- 26:47Speaker 1: episode five being Inquisition and six being Night of the Hunted.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Of course we can talk about these two episodes together, Katie.
- 27:01Speaker 2: So I think we just need to go ahead and
- 27:03Speaker 2: knock this part out.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I feel like the.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Animation and the music still on part very good, very phenomenal.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I don't want to keep repeating that, but I feel
- 27:14Speaker 2: like we need to acknowledge it every week because the rest.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Of it, well, So I needed to ask you specifically.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I am not usually one, and I'm not saying that
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm not woken off or whatever, but when it comes
- 27:35Speaker 1: to how animation has been treated, especially overseas with anime,
- 27:42Speaker 1: there is always a warning of hey, this has you know,
- 27:48Speaker 1: shining lights, this could cause epilepsy, like episodes and all
- 27:54Speaker 1: of that stuff. Okay, with your migraines. Episode six had
- 27:58Speaker 1: a very intense lightsaber fights on the tray. How did
- 28:04Speaker 1: you feel about that.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I did not have any issues with that, which is
- 28:10Speaker 2: like I really haven't. I really don't typically deal with it.
- 28:16Speaker 2: When it comes to animation, it's always typically live action
- 28:22Speaker 2: that does it. I think it's just a different way
- 28:24Speaker 2: the light works. Okay, Sorry, I hear my toddler crying
- 28:30Speaker 2: the background. But I think it's just a different light
- 28:35Speaker 2: spectrum because certain like I can't think of the light bulb,
- 28:43Speaker 2: but like the new light bulbs versus incandescence, those can
- 28:51Speaker 2: sometimes give me migraines, especially the way they sound and stuff.
- 28:55Speaker 2: So I feel like with the animation, it's a different
- 28:58Speaker 2: light spectrum that they're using. So even I know it's flashing,
- 29:01Speaker 2: it's not causing the same effect. Because I've definitely had
- 29:04Speaker 2: that where I had to go like, I'm covered my eyes,
- 29:07Speaker 2: tell me when it's done.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't have that. I know that you've You've
- 29:13Speaker 1: talked to me about that before, so I wanted to
- 29:15Speaker 1: just see if that was a problem for you. I recently,
- 29:20Speaker 1: especially when an anime, it kind of annoys me. So
- 29:23Speaker 1: like the way that anime studios get away with it. Nowadays,
- 29:28Speaker 1: they still have like the bright flashing lights, but they
- 29:32Speaker 1: literally put a dimming effect on the entire screen, on
- 29:39Speaker 1: the entire ratio of the frame. They just dim everything
- 29:44Speaker 1: and it kind of looks like, uh, like you put
- 29:48Speaker 1: the brightness on your phone. It looks like they turn
- 29:51Speaker 1: it down for like literally zero point five seconds and
- 29:55Speaker 1: then it goes back up whenever the flashing lights are gone.
- 29:58Speaker 1: That kind of gets annoying. Spec actually if it happens
- 30:01Speaker 1: periodically in one episode this there's nothing like that here.
- 30:07Speaker 1: But when the Inquisitor was fighting Devin spoilers of course,
- 30:12Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about it anyway, and Maul entered the scene,
- 30:17Speaker 1: there was just also guys again animation, the paint stroke
- 30:22Speaker 1: effect gorgeous in the lightsaber fighting. Oh, I love it.
- 30:28Speaker 1: But it did give me a thought of, like, I
- 30:30Speaker 1: wonder if anybody's actually having a problem with the amount
- 30:35Speaker 1: of craziness, that craziness that's going on currently with these
- 30:40Speaker 1: fight scenes. But if not, that's totally cool. That's totally cool.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, because I know everybody's different with what affects them,
- 30:51Speaker 2: so it would be interesting to know because like I
- 30:57Speaker 2: told you before, like it literally the flashing that can
- 31:02Speaker 2: get me, and it's typically very white and black like
- 31:07Speaker 2: that aspect like the Captain America, it was bullshit, who
- 31:15Speaker 2: the fuck does that? I'm sorry, it really pissed me off.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So there, I didn't have any problems with it. I
- 31:24Speaker 2: was able to watch the scene in its entirety.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Okay, cool, cool, cool, Now I have two prediction questions
- 31:32Speaker 1: for you because these, uh, there was two instances where
- 31:40Speaker 1: it's subtle. It's subtle enough that you don't really question
- 31:44Speaker 1: too much about it, but it's just like, you know,
- 31:46Speaker 1: something happens, you're like, okay, let's move on, Chief Claice
- 31:52Speaker 1: and Master Doo Docy. Yes, Chief Claie, it's removed from
- 32:02Speaker 1: her position indefinitely. Yeah, do we see her again? You
- 32:12Speaker 1: don't think so.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I think she got sent to one of the first
- 32:16Speaker 2: Empire in prison prison camps.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I think so as well. And then two after the
- 32:25Speaker 1: chase scene with Devin and Dio Docy, Theodoci jumps down
- 32:31Speaker 1: and he grunts any kind of like you know, staggers
- 32:35Speaker 1: and says, Master, are you okay? And he says no,
- 32:39Speaker 1: but I'm not dead yet. Does he die? I think
- 32:44Speaker 1: he's dead by the end of the of the season.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You think so?
- 32:48Speaker 2: I think so, And I no longer think that. Not
- 32:53Speaker 2: that I thought this, I just thought it would be cool.
- 32:55Speaker 2: But I think we're gonna end up with a season
- 32:58Speaker 2: two directly happens after this. It's not going to be
- 33:01Speaker 2: any sort of major time jump. It's gonna be mall
- 33:05Speaker 2: with Devin and her kind of like dealing with the
- 33:12Speaker 2: Oh my master died. Oh but the empire is bad.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Oh but Mall is also bad. But the enemy of
- 33:19Speaker 2: my enemy is my friend.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Kind of Mall is all I have, you know what
- 33:23Speaker 1: type of thing. I was kind of thinking the same thing,
- 33:27Speaker 1: especially with what developed at the end of this episode.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I questioned at the beginning of episode five, there is
- 33:41Speaker 1: a scene where Mall, I believe is it episode five
- 33:47Speaker 1: or is it episode.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Episode six has him doing the lightsaber training on his own.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yes, episode six, I asked threads, Hey, has anybody figured
- 33:59Speaker 1: out what battle was Mal mimicking, because there's you know,
- 34:10Speaker 1: I just feel like Star Wars would definitely do that,
- 34:13Speaker 1: Like is he sensing some fight in the future. I
- 34:17Speaker 1: even watched the last fight again to see if he
- 34:21Speaker 1: mimics some of the same moves he does maybe once
- 34:24Speaker 1: or twice. I was like, Oh, that's so cool. If
- 34:27Speaker 1: he was able to know, like, hey, this fight is
- 34:31Speaker 1: gonna happen, I know exactly how to defend myself because
- 34:35Speaker 1: of the whole conversation we had last week about this
- 34:38Speaker 1: whole like mal profit thing. Yeah, well, somebody picked up
- 34:44Speaker 1: on a very like it's literally a blink and you
- 34:47Speaker 1: miss it. Frame in that sequence of him doing the training,
- 34:55Speaker 1: he holds a very famous pose that was held by
- 35:00Speaker 1: Star Killer in the video game, so it is yes,
- 35:06Speaker 1: So it's literally just like how the showrunners had said, Hey,
- 35:12Speaker 1: there is some light homages to the forced Unleash. This
- 35:18Speaker 1: was one of them. So they did that entire sequence.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Well, go ahead, My guess was gonna be the Palpatine
- 35:29Speaker 2: fight that he has with Savage.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And Mal Oh. Yeah, it was him kind of like.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Redoing that because we know that fight beat him up.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, that would make sense. So he feels like
- 35:44Speaker 1: he needs to practice that fight over and over to
- 35:46Speaker 1: see what he did wrong. Oh. I like that kind
- 35:50Speaker 1: of messes with his mentality also, But I also like
- 35:53Speaker 1: the idea of they made that entire sequence just to
- 35:57Speaker 1: hide one frame as an homage to for Sun Leaves.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I like that as well. So I think that is
- 36:05Speaker 1: very very cool. Also, when we're talking about characters and
- 36:11Speaker 1: how they are changing, if we will see them again
- 36:13Speaker 1: and all of that, a new development. Of course, the
- 36:16Speaker 1: Empire has come in. They have taken over, and we
- 36:20Speaker 1: now see this, Uh what's his name is it, lieutenant?
- 36:26Speaker 1: What is his name? I think it is Blake actually,
- 36:35Speaker 1: but I don't know if he's a lieutenant or not.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Is he a lieutenant?
- 36:38Speaker 2: It is he is a lieutenant.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Okay, it is Lieutenant Blake. Who are you? Yeah, Lieutenant Blake.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Lieutenant Blake has taken over the department and two Boots
- 36:56Speaker 1: is you know, just doing what a what his protocols
- 37:01Speaker 1: call for? Yep, another prediction for you. Does two Boots
- 37:09Speaker 1: change his ways? And is is it all gonna be?
- 37:13Speaker 1: Because Lieutenant Blake told him to change his shoes?
- 37:18Speaker 2: I was thinking the exact same thing. I was like, Uh, dude,
- 37:23Speaker 2: this is the guy who called you in to follow
- 37:26Speaker 2: protocol and I get he's not wearing that the boots
- 37:30Speaker 2: are not regulation, but uh, you just fucked up well.
- 37:36Speaker 1: And the thing is like, we know that droids are droids.
- 37:40Speaker 1: They follow protocols. It's very simple for them to do so.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Not a lot of droids show too much emotion. Correct, yes,
- 37:48Speaker 1: but two Boots has shown that he has enough of
- 37:55Speaker 1: a connection to Lawson to show a little bit of
- 38:03Speaker 1: regret or some sort of other emotions towards him. Remember
- 38:07Speaker 1: when he was on desk duty, he moved everything in
- 38:10Speaker 1: front of the picture so he wouldn't see him. So
- 38:14Speaker 1: he has a connection to two Boots. It's not just
- 38:18Speaker 1: a nickname, you know. So I'm thinking him realizing, oh,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I'm no longer going to be known as two Boots anymore.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be the same old droid as everybody
- 38:32Speaker 1: else in this facility. He's gonna realize, oh, I don't
- 38:37Speaker 1: have the freedoms that I did. I think he's gonna
- 38:41Speaker 1: go out and help Lawson.
- 38:43Speaker 2: He's gonna help Lawson and Riley get off planet.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 38:49Speaker 2: And I felt bad for Riley. But Roy he's just
- 38:52Speaker 2: doing probably his his good southern Southern duty and like
- 38:58Speaker 2: pulling people off the street, like oh, you say, you
- 39:01Speaker 2: know my dad, My dad's a cop. Cool, like we're
- 39:05Speaker 2: helping people.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And yeah, I don't think he had any like ill
- 39:09Speaker 1: will at all. And of course I don't believe Diodoci
- 39:14Speaker 1: was like, hey, where Jedi help us please? Yeah, they
- 39:18Speaker 1: were probably a little bit sneaky about it, not gonna lie.
- 39:23Speaker 6: But I like, I'm I'm curious to see if he's
- 39:30Speaker 6: going to just be the dead weight around Devin and
- 39:32Speaker 6: mal right now, like, what is what is the purpose
- 39:37Speaker 6: of bringing Riley into the mix other than hey now
- 39:42Speaker 6: lost and has even more reason to work with mal
- 39:47Speaker 6: you know, yeah.
- 39:49Speaker 2: And I don't like that. I don't like pulling a
- 39:53Speaker 2: kid into this. I feel like Star Wars has done
- 39:54Speaker 2: this enough again. It's the repetitiveness where we keep telling
- 39:58Speaker 2: the same things over and over. Like I just wish
- 40:05Speaker 2: that Riley hadn't been brought into this. I would have
- 40:08Speaker 2: like I understand that Dio, Docky and Devin probably had
- 40:11Speaker 2: no idea what an inquisitor was, because the inquisitors have
- 40:14Speaker 2: only probably just started, like your year past Revenge of
- 40:20Speaker 2: the Sith. It totally makes sense like they've been training
- 40:22Speaker 2: on Coruscant, but they probably really haven't been doing missions.
- 40:28Speaker 2: And so it makes me nervous for Riley because I
- 40:34Speaker 2: feel bad because Brightley is the star athlete and now
- 40:38Speaker 2: all of a sudden he's been dragged out and is
- 40:40Speaker 2: now being on the run because he made the mistake
- 40:43Speaker 2: of bringing in Jedi. It wasn't necessarily that he did
- 40:46Speaker 2: this out of like weirdness or the Dio Docky and
- 40:49Speaker 2: Devin didn't go, oh, we're informants, we need to talk
- 40:52Speaker 2: to your dad, like he really was just trying to
- 40:56Speaker 2: be kind and because of his kindness, now he's worked
- 41:00Speaker 2: on the run.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Well, not only that one thing that I was not
- 41:04Speaker 1: expecting that them do that they actually did do. We
- 41:08Speaker 1: got to see the mother. The mother shows up of
- 41:12Speaker 1: course because of Riley and lets her know, like, hey,
- 41:16Speaker 1: something's going on. Dad is involved. You know what can
- 41:19Speaker 1: we do? And of course I think I think the
- 41:24Speaker 1: mother kind of knows how dangerous the Empire can be,
- 41:28Speaker 1: because she's just like, hey, fo, follow protocol, just do
- 41:31Speaker 1: what everything that is asked of you, blah blah blah.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Everything will be fine. So we'll see if she gets involved.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I could see her being a little bit more involved
- 41:42Speaker 1: in season two if we continue with lost In story. Yeah,
- 41:49Speaker 1: but I I agree with you. I don't think they
- 41:53Speaker 1: necessarily needed to bring Riley into the mix when it
- 41:59Speaker 1: comes to everything else, like okay, having him welcome them
- 42:04Speaker 1: into his home whatever, yeah whatever. Loss In, although we
- 42:17Speaker 1: said last week, is kind of the run of the mill,
- 42:21Speaker 1: kind of predictable character. Yeah, you need to give him
- 42:28Speaker 1: storylines that we haven't already seen before. That's what's going
- 42:32Speaker 1: to get him to be more and more interesting. We
- 42:35Speaker 1: see that he has some sort of past working with
- 42:39Speaker 1: bounty hunters in the past that is I can't remember
- 42:42Speaker 1: her name off the top of my head, who helps
- 42:44Speaker 1: them in episode six, But like, let's go that route,
- 42:51Speaker 1: let's see what that's all about. Let's let's learn about
- 42:54Speaker 1: him a little more. And like, genuinely, now that I'm
- 42:58Speaker 1: thinking about it, I can already see uh Lucasfilm Publishing
- 43:03Speaker 1: probably already pitching a loss in book.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yeah, probably to tackle that story or potentially a comic though.
- 43:13Speaker 2: I know, like we talked about last week, Marvel Comics
- 43:16Speaker 2: staffing gotten gutted, so we might not see his many
- 43:18Speaker 2: frequent uh comic stories out of Marvel, But that could
- 43:23Speaker 2: make sense, especially with season two coming. Like you could
- 43:26Speaker 2: potentially time it right before season two because season two
- 43:28Speaker 2: is probably next year, so you could time it along
- 43:33Speaker 2: the same uh frame of things.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Trying to think if there's anything else,
- 43:43Speaker 1: what if you.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Think about moroc or Merrick. Obviously they're not said in
- 43:49Speaker 2: this but.
- 43:50Speaker 1: The inquisitor, Yeah, I think he right now is just
- 43:56Speaker 1: the run of the mill inquisitors. He's not really showing
- 43:59Speaker 1: anything other than the want to hunt and kill and
- 44:07Speaker 1: he is.
- 44:08Speaker 2: This guy is the first brother, which makes sense why
- 44:12Speaker 2: he's kind of on one of the first missions because
- 44:15Speaker 2: he's the first really allowed out of the pen, that
- 44:19Speaker 2: is the torture dungeon of the inquisitors. Ye, so that
- 44:24Speaker 2: doesn't make sense.
- 44:28Speaker 1: So yeah, he like we know that he tortured the
- 44:34Speaker 1: chief because when Lawson goes into the interrogation room, he
- 44:39Speaker 1: notices the the nail grooves into the table and he
- 44:51Speaker 1: is doing his own investigation to find Mall. But he
- 44:54Speaker 1: also is following Lawson, which is why he abruptly crashes
- 45:00Speaker 1: the loss in household. But yeah, he right now, he's
- 45:05Speaker 1: just a runner, a mill inquisitor. I don't think we're
- 45:07Speaker 1: going to get much backstory out of him. I think
- 45:10Speaker 1: he is literally just there for the lightsaber fights.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think so either. I do think I
- 45:20Speaker 2: still am kind of on the lines that he's going
- 45:25Speaker 2: to die in Mall. And that's why we don't see
- 45:28Speaker 2: him later on in the process is because he dies.
- 45:35Speaker 2: And that would again, if he dies, especially by Mall's hand,
- 45:39Speaker 2: it would makes sense why the Knight sisters bring him
- 45:41Speaker 2: back specifically because they knew he gave mal so much trouble,
- 45:45Speaker 2: so therefore he could be a force to be reckoned with.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Now I do want to bring up let me actually
- 45:57Speaker 1: scroll all the way up when we were talking about
- 46:00Speaker 1: got it uh Brent over at of course Marvel Alliance
- 46:07Speaker 1: a gua. He says, I have seen Mal. I like
- 46:12Speaker 1: the show, but I do wish he had more actual
- 46:15Speaker 1: screen time. How do you feel about And I know
- 46:21Speaker 1: we've talked about this before title name and we hardly
- 46:27Speaker 1: see the character right.
- 46:28Speaker 2: And we talked about it last week where we don't
- 46:31Speaker 2: feel like Mal is getting enough screen time for really
- 46:34Speaker 2: go okay, we're focusing on the side of characters. Where's
- 46:38Speaker 2: ma Like, there's no new details for Mal and I
- 46:43Speaker 2: would agree with that. I'm trying not to harp on
- 46:45Speaker 2: that too too much because I just don't want to
- 46:47Speaker 2: be repeating myself weech week, But yes, he doesn't have
- 46:51Speaker 2: enough screen time for this to be defined clearly as well.
- 46:56Speaker 2: And Lawson and Devin aren't spending enough time talking about
- 47:01Speaker 2: Mal to really make it worth the timeframe of like
- 47:07Speaker 2: we're throwing more details for what he's doing mm hmm
- 47:12Speaker 2: to expand Mall story. Mall is the title character here.
- 47:16Speaker 2: If you wanted to just call it this underworld, then
- 47:18Speaker 2: call it underworld like so, yes, I'm sorry, finish your thought.
- 47:24Speaker 1: I think one of the things when it comes to
- 47:32Speaker 1: Mall's story, and I think this is something that TV
- 47:37Speaker 1: overall has an issue with. My issue with TV is
- 47:44Speaker 1: all of the like big story plots with mal personally
- 47:50Speaker 1: won't come until the last three episodes.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yep.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Everything else is a build up to, Oh, this is
- 47:58Speaker 1: what Mall was after all along, you know type of thing.
- 48:02Speaker 2: And this is the downside of having twenty minute episodes
- 48:08Speaker 2: and trying to justify it. The rest of the way
- 48:11Speaker 2: is you're losing yourself on storytime, and twenty minute episodes
- 48:15Speaker 2: makes sense when you have more episodes to play with
- 48:18Speaker 2: ten episodes, the timing doesn't make sense.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I and I apologize. I don't know if you guys
- 48:26Speaker 1: can hear my daughter. I can hear outside of my headphones,
- 48:30Speaker 1: and I'm just like, what is going on? She's she
- 48:35Speaker 1: sounds like she's having fun, So it's it's not terrible.
- 48:38Speaker 2: At least there's that.
- 48:40Speaker 1: But yeah, I've we've talked about the very unfortunate, what
- 48:47Speaker 1: feels like downgrade to television, and I think it has
- 48:52Speaker 1: something to do with with our own undoing with the
- 48:57Speaker 1: fact that a lot of us are like twenty four episodes.
- 49:00Speaker 1: There's so much filler. Why do we need all this,
- 49:03Speaker 1: we could use just ten really great episodes blah blah blah,
- 49:06Speaker 1: and like.
- 49:07Speaker 2: They we were talking about ten episodes with forty five
- 49:11Speaker 2: minute long episodes that is all thirty minute or twenty minutes. Especially.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I asked, I asked Abby, why is Amberlin being so
- 49:22Speaker 1: loud right now? And she said she is being a ballerina,
- 49:25Speaker 1: So that is that is the reason. I never knew
- 49:28Speaker 1: ballerinas could be so loud.
- 49:31Speaker 3: So so yeah.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I told Maria tonight that barbecue was sausage because she
- 49:39Speaker 2: asked for sausage. I was like, this is a different
- 49:41Speaker 2: type of sausage. It's barbecue.
- 49:45Speaker 1: It's so funny teaching like Amberlyn those types of things
- 49:51Speaker 1: because like we we uh, like, of course down south
- 49:55Speaker 1: hot dogs are hot dogs. Up here, they are also
- 49:58Speaker 1: known as Coney's. So we're like, oh, we're gonna get Tony's.
- 50:02Speaker 1: And so she's like, ew, I don't want coney So
- 50:04Speaker 1: I was like, you eat Coney's all the time. They're
- 50:06Speaker 1: hot dogs. She's like, no, hot dog is not a cony.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Tony is not a Like she's so a matter of fact,
- 50:12Speaker 1: She's like, Dad, you don't know what you're talking about, Like,
- 50:15Speaker 1: stop stop lying to me. But yeah, like with with
- 50:20Speaker 1: the whole idea around like what we could have gotten
- 50:27Speaker 1: for the amount of television that we really want and
- 50:30Speaker 1: stuff like that, I do hope that in the future
- 50:36Speaker 1: we can get a little more. When it comes to
- 50:42Speaker 1: let's say bad Batch. Bad Batch started with how many
- 50:46Speaker 1: episodes in season one?
- 50:49Speaker 2: I feel like it was twenty.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I feel like it was twenty as well. I think
- 50:53Speaker 1: it was. It was a lot, and then by the
- 50:56Speaker 1: time season three came around, it down it like down
- 50:59Speaker 1: its actual let's see here, let's look for it.
- 51:09Speaker 2: So sixteen sixteen and fifteen Wow, I thought, I, you
- 51:15Speaker 2: know what, bad Batch had the seventy four minute first
- 51:19Speaker 2: episode of the season, So that's probably why I thought
- 51:24Speaker 2: it was.
- 51:24Speaker 1: That's probably why. But still adding five to six episodes
- 51:30Speaker 1: to something like Maul, I think will be very beneficial.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I think they should be.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Yeah, because otherwise it just doesn't feel like it feels
- 51:40Speaker 2: like we're like drawing this out for a longer episode count.
- 51:44Speaker 2: M h and I don't think like you and I
- 51:47Speaker 2: both agreed, that's not how this should be done. You
- 51:50Speaker 2: need to finish a season should be a story with
- 51:55Speaker 2: potentially a cliffhanger to get you into the next season. Yes,
- 52:00Speaker 2: it's a complete story. And at this point it feels
- 52:05Speaker 2: like they said, oh, you know what, here's a here's
- 52:08Speaker 2: a story. We can put this in three seasons and
- 52:12Speaker 2: draw this out for three years, like instead of going,
- 52:16Speaker 2: here's one story, here's two stories, here's three stories. Oh hey,
- 52:20Speaker 2: all three stories lead into this one story overall, and
- 52:23Speaker 2: yeah it work.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Gotta love monetization and capitalism.
- 52:30Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, uh, I I just want more.
- 52:41Speaker 1: I do. I want more. And I'm not saying that
- 52:44Speaker 1: this story right now is not good enough because I
- 52:50Speaker 1: think it is doing okay. But I know the potential
- 52:58Speaker 1: that Star Wars animation and has and this is not
- 53:02Speaker 1: up to part I will say.
- 53:04Speaker 2: That, yes, and I will finish with this. You're wasting
- 53:09Speaker 2: the talent of Sam Whitweer and everybody else involved. You
- 53:13Speaker 2: wanted Sam whitwre involved in more Star Wars storytelling. You
- 53:16Speaker 2: are wasting his talents right now?
- 53:19Speaker 1: Bingo, right, I think.
- 53:22Speaker 2: That concludes our discussion.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Yes it does, Yes, it does. Of course. You can
- 53:29Speaker 1: always find me at fanboy clay over on Instagram and threads,
- 53:34Speaker 1: so go check me out over it there. Again, some
- 53:40Speaker 1: personal stuff is happening. I should be able to make
- 53:42Speaker 1: some announcements hopefully pretty soon, and of course always go
- 53:48Speaker 1: check out Volume Comics. We are amping up to hopefully
- 53:54Speaker 1: our launch next year. We have kind of made terms
- 53:58Speaker 1: if we need to push it a little bit, want
- 54:00Speaker 1: to do this correctly, and everybody who has had conversations
- 54:05Speaker 1: with me is very very excited about getting it all
- 54:10Speaker 1: up and running. So it's all very very exciting. But
- 54:15Speaker 1: go check me out over there Ranger Alliance. We should
- 54:20Speaker 1: have a new episode this upcoming Monday. We have moved
- 54:23Speaker 1: to every other Monday, so new episode is going to
- 54:28Speaker 1: be next week, so go check us out there and
- 54:31Speaker 1: again hyped for the Mando movie. We finally get to
- 54:36Speaker 1: have a live show movie review for the first time
- 54:41Speaker 1: for me in Star Wars Alliance.
- 54:45Speaker 2: So I've never had one either, so this is the
- 54:47Speaker 2: first in general.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Wait did you oh? Because it was one year prior
- 54:52Speaker 1: to you guys starting Star Wars Alliance for the Rise
- 54:58Speaker 1: of Skywalker. Okay, okay, okay, So yeah, it's gonna be
- 55:02Speaker 1: very very fun, very exciting. One month, guys, one month.
- 55:07Speaker 1: But Katie, what about you? Y'all?
- 55:10Speaker 2: You can find me on most social media platforms. That's
- 55:12Speaker 2: at sliced Katie. Remember we're on Blue Sky Instagram and
- 55:15Speaker 2: threads at Star Wars Lines at the AA and the
- 55:17Speaker 2: war's very important. To forget it. I did remember to
- 55:20Speaker 2: post on Threads that we would be going live, so
- 55:26Speaker 2: I will try to do the same next week. We'll
- 55:28Speaker 2: see what happens. But that username guys for you is
- 55:33Speaker 2: in the description box below or at Star Wars Lines
- 55:37Speaker 2: without the A and the war is very important. Don't
- 55:38Speaker 2: forget it. I think I said that already. Actually boops,
- 55:41Speaker 2: Oh well, it'll be fine. You can also put that
- 55:48Speaker 2: user name in front of at gmail dot com and
- 55:50Speaker 2: shoose an email as always. Like with mashadow Lord, happening
- 55:55Speaker 2: right now before Mandalorian and Grogu premiers at the end
- 56:00Speaker 2: of May. We would love to hear from you, guys.
- 56:02Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on the box office prediction for
- 56:06Speaker 2: the Mandalorian Girl Go? Is it good? Is it bad?
- 56:09Speaker 2: Is it terrible? Is it amazing? Tell us let us go.
- 56:13Speaker 2: We'll talk about it more next week. So with that,
- 56:16Speaker 2: I want to wish everyone a great day or night,
- 56:18Speaker 2: whatever time of day you are listening or watching, and
- 56:20Speaker 2: we will see you next time. May the Force be
- 56:22Speaker 2: with you.
