- 1:07it's time for today's episode of Yours truly, Johnny All. This one is
- 1:12called The Frustrated Phoenix Matter. Well, you're listening enjoyment, John lund As,
- 1:21Johnny Dollars, Bradley, Johnny read any good books lately? And that's
- 1:25a brilliant conversation. Little bit. I'm referring specifically to the books of Martin
- 1:30Veneberg. Veneburg is that the novelist to make such a big splash about twenty
- 1:34years ago, the same the South genius, the Chicago's Lieratti, who wrote
- 1:38two smatch sellars. Second the thirties and hasn't been heard from the talentary yesterday,
- 1:44that is, and what happened yesterday, well, the height of the
- 1:46heyday. He brought a twenty five thousand dollars paid up first policy problem.
- 1:49We had a request from him yesterday asking for some change of beneficiary for him.
- 1:53Oh, what's the un igual about that? Now they accepted his wife
- 1:56the present beneficiary, and the Chicago police have been looking for since Santabart was
- 2:00murdered last night. Wow, might be a good idea to brought up on
- 2:05my reading events. Mind if I break in here to ask you a question?
- 2:17Here? It is how much do you know about your United States government?
- 2:23For example, do you know what the work of the Department of Agriculture
- 2:28entails? Somebody, some day may recommend that the Department of Agriculture be called
- 2:35the Department of General Scientific Progress, because employees of this branch of our government
- 2:40have been responsible for the improvement of our shoe leather, our mattress stuffing,
- 2:46and the rubber tires which we put on our automobiles. But these improvements are
- 2:51somewhat of the sidelines, since the main duty of the department is to assist
- 2:55the farmers of Americans now back in the days, and it was just getting
- 3:00organized and explaining to Congress Wyatt needed more money. The Department of Agriculture acted
- 3:06only as a sort of clearinghouse for information which farmers picked up and passed on
- 3:10about better ways to grow corn, raise pigs, and so on. Then
- 3:15the farmers began asking questions about getting rid of blights and parasites and other such
- 3:21farming problems, and the department had to come up with the right answers.
- 3:25That's when the department began to expand and take a direct part in improving farm
- 3:30operations. As an example of its success in farming improvement, there's the item
- 3:37of egg production. In the past fifty years, the production of eggs has
- 3:40been increased over three hundred percent as a result of the expert avice on the
- 3:46feeding and raising of poultry developed by workers in the Department of Agricultures. Other
- 3:52important developments have been made by the departments chemists, such as the improvement of
- 3:57insects, killers, fertilizers, and the discovery of new waves in which to
- 4:02use products which farmers have been growing since the beginning of time. For examples,
- 4:09do you know it is now possible to make mutledge from sweet potatoes,
- 4:13paper from corn stock, paint brushes from milk, and wood as strong as
- 4:17steals. These are dumped as few of the advancements made by the Department of
- 4:23Agricultures. Future advancements will add much to our American way of life. Expens
- 4:42the count submitted by a special investigators Johnny Daughters to Home Office, washingtony and
- 4:46Life Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut. The following is an accounting of expenditures
- 4:49during my investigation of the Frustrated Phoenix matter. Expense the count atom one thirty
- 5:00cents air fare and incidentals between hartfrid and Chicago. Expensive count Atom two one
- 5:04dollar and twenty cents cab fare from the Sherman House to the editorial officers of
- 5:09the Daily Examiner. I figured a quick brush up on Martin Vanderburgh's recent history
- 5:14might come in handy, But as it happened, I didn't get past the
- 5:16city editor's desk. Sure you can use the more dollar. Might have a
- 5:20better idea for you at all. Oh, yeah, what's that? I
- 5:23have a talk with Richard Hanley, who is Handley freelance literary critic and columns
- 5:28We buy a lot of except he can tell you everything. It's in the
- 5:30morgue. And then some sounds like he knew Vanerburg pretty well. Hey was
- 5:33his disciple, friend, father, confessor, and Psychefrics culture worker ole for
- 5:39twenty years. That sounds like a pretty good recommendation. If you can find
- 5:42Vanneberg's wife, she could give you a better one. Oh, how's that
- 5:46Hanley was her first husband. Expens count atom three one dollar and thirty five
- 5:56cents cab fare to Richard Hanley's modern studio apartment on a street. The severe
- 6:00functional appearance of the studio seemed to be reflected in Richind Hamley, Which Martin
- 6:06Danneberg? Who want me to tell you about mister Dollar the man or the
- 6:10writer? As a writer, he'd been touched by the gift of genius.
- 6:14As a man, he was dissolute, depraved, contemptible. Would you mind
- 6:17explaining that, mister Hamley. In nineteen thirty three and thirty four, he
- 6:20published two the greatest novels ever written. They burst upon the muckkeep of the
- 6:25creative writing at the times like twin comments, blazing a pathway to the star.
- 6:30The next twenty years he drowned at Brinton Knight and the Fowls scene of
- 6:33alcohol dissipation and marl dissolution. In short, the Martin Vennebergh who was still
- 6:40last night, mister Dollar, was a drunken bumble. I was told that
- 6:43you were a friend of Venneberg things I was missinformed. The twenty years I
- 6:47have been trying to get that man right again, right as I knew he
- 6:50could, as he'd done before. I nursed him to his alcoholic stupers,
- 6:55counseled him, pleaded with him, even finance him for a year or two.
- 6:59And how did hear it yet the bowels where many the accomplishments knew.
- 7:02Whatever I gave him me use the city's appetite for dissipations. For twenty years
- 7:06is a long time to spend in the space of all that, Not to
- 7:11mention the loss of your wife. I hadn't contemplated giving him Helene too,
- 7:15mister Dollar. Where is she now? I have no idea. I'd finally
- 7:21given up on Beneberg some five weeks ago. I haven't seen either of them
- 7:25since. Well, anything else you can tell me, mister Hanley, any
- 7:29ideas to who might have killed him or why? No, he had no
- 7:32personal position, possibly no longer even a talent for anyone to be jealous.
- 7:38I can't to beive of any possible movie, mister dollar. Well, there's
- 7:42always that twenty five thousand dollars insurance policy. I walked over to the Chicago
- 7:51Avenue Police station and induced myself to Lieutenant board Stock, who was in charge
- 7:56of the investigation. For what it's worth, here's what we got on a
- 7:59dollar. A vaneback was killed in the one room rat Nast he called home
- 8:03by two twenty five color of the bulletside, a close range bulletic got qassed
- 8:07by the gun barrett automatic. Time of death was approximably eleven PM last night.
- 8:11Nobody heard the shot, Nobody saw anybody coming or out. Nobody knows
- 8:15any reason why when a bird should have been killed. Who discovered the body
- 8:18of a man of the name of Dalton Parler to be an old friend of
- 8:22Vanneberg is qrictly a screwball bohemian fact. You know what time did he come
- 8:24across this treeclocker this morning? Unusual hour for m to come calling, wasn't
- 8:28well not, according to tarler saims. He was working on some earth shattering
- 8:33poems. At all. He finished them and pour right over to show him
- 8:37to Vaneberg. According to him, the womb of night is the birthplace of
- 8:41genius, and time is an artificial dungeon created by being knighted the listines and
- 8:45which to imprison men souls unquote. That's very descriptive, but they're not very
- 8:52illuminating. Now. The same could be said about everything else about this case
- 8:54so far. Until we came across that insurance policy, we had a blank
- 8:58right down the line. You figure, that's the motives for Vaneburg's matter,
- 9:01the only one that even looks closed. What about the wife Elaine? Heah,
- 9:05that's gotta speak too, for as we can find out, she disappeared
- 9:09five days ago. Nobody in the neighborhood's seen or heard of her since we
- 9:13got an apb out on her, though we'll pick her up. Anything in
- 9:16Vaneburg's recent actions to Jippeth the lead, well, one unusual thing, Popps.
- 9:22I don't know if it means anything. Now, Yeah, what's that?
- 9:24We found a nearly new portable typewriter up in his room. Clean oil
- 9:28is ready to go. The neighbors elicits for the past week. Martin Vaneberg
- 9:31has been writing again. I mean we couldn't find a scrap of manuscripts.
- 9:41Well, there wasn't much more a voice tact to tell me. Vneberg's history
- 9:46during the past ten years were summed up on the police blodder arrest for drunkenness,
- 9:50vagrancy, disorderly conduct, and the coroner's jury would write the epithet homicide
- 9:56at the hands of person or a person's unknown. I found Dalton taller over
- 10:05as Lamlady study would be in Newberry Park, one square block of pirate grass
- 10:11and Stragley bushes in the midst of a dreary section of Chicago is near North
- 10:15Side. Color was addressing a couple of the spirited looking squirrels, your bdi
- 10:20scavengers seeking the humorous fruit of the grouper. There are no greetings here,
- 10:26say those unpalatables and scrapes from a moving rescue for the Ashley's called the Mind
- 10:31of Man. Do you think the squirrels understand that? Oh, I've better.
- 10:37Perhaps from the two they could protoplasmic dollars. The sophie earth and the
- 10:39guy is a homo is happily. Well, I have to take your words
- 10:43with that's mister sellers, do the let knowledge of my identity. It indicates
- 10:48you have the advantage of me, sir, But my name is Dollar.
- 10:50I'm an insurance invest to get it. In other words, the brazen deliver
- 10:54into the secrets of man. I'd like to ask you a few questions about
- 10:56Martin Venneberg. Yes, a final degradation of genius to be detective piece smith
- 11:05upon the cold, impersonal autoty flap of a post. Then all I want
- 11:09to do is find out who killed them and why? An impossible task,
- 11:11sir, You ignore the simple fact that Martin Vanneberg is not dead. That's
- 11:16not what the police, I could say. And a busmal conclusion reached by
- 11:20pygmy minded illiterates. A soul such a that of Martin Vaneburg can never die.
- 11:24It will rise again from the ashes of the mortal remains, like like
- 11:28that that table bird, the phoenix and soul and glorious wings of death oppose
- 11:33or evermore. Or let's get back to the police blotter and started realism.
- 11:37Go in. What do you wish from me? Any information you can give
- 11:43me about who might have wanted to kill Martin Vanneberg. Their name is not
- 11:46a legion, Sir has that nest to tell her any of the incompetent,
- 11:50the jealousy with me, the hecks view of that comes, the illy informed
- 11:54words could have killed Zanneberg, chiefly out of sheer frustrated envy. Well,
- 12:00I am looking for a little more practical motive. What more practical motive could
- 12:03that be? Sure? Worldly good? These he had none? What about
- 12:07his wife? The ridiculous implications? Why Helen is a lovely soul, one
- 12:13who worshiped with Bendebergs shrine, who is dedicated to suthing to her tireless task
- 12:16of catling to his genius. I can think of twenty five thousand reasons why
- 12:22she might get tired of it. Sure you're not afferring to that insurance policy
- 12:26files supplies motive line has disappeared. Unless she turns up fast with an outside
- 12:31alibi. It looks pretty bad for it. I'd never had considered it in
- 12:35that life before. When I that you have, how does it look?
- 12:39Would it be any assistance to her? If I were to inform you where
- 12:41she was last night? It might? You realize? Of course, my
- 12:46antipathy towards the minions of the law prevented me from divulging this sooner, but
- 12:50if it might be a possible aid to our wife teller and where she'd been
- 12:54every evening for the past month typing manuscript Sir, at the apartment of it
- 12:58should hand. Yes, that's right, Dollar, Helene has been coming here
- 13:11evening to type my column for it. How did you forget to mention that
- 13:16little fact earlier? My attorney was out of town. I wish to consult
- 13:20with him. What about Elaine? Are yourself? There's been no official charges
- 13:26made against her, and I've nothing to be concerned about. Where is Elaine?
- 13:31Now? I can tell you only what I just finished telling lutenor boys
- 13:35Ark over the phone, and what was that? I expect Helene here as
- 13:39usual at eight o'clock to night, no objections. If the Lieutenant and I
- 13:43are here at all, my attorney will be here too. Do you mind
- 13:48telling me what time Helene left here last night? It was a little past
- 13:50midnight? Are you sure about the time? That's the certain is? Who
- 13:54are the Dennerberg was killed? At? Approximately? Are now? Or before
- 13:58then? Oh? An alibi ready too? You seem to have thought of
- 14:01everything, mister Hamley under the second stents? Is I thought it's a reasonable
- 14:05thing to do. Expensive conem four sixty five cents cab fair to the Chicago
- 14:16Avenue police station. I just paid off the driver and was heading for the
- 14:20entrance when the horse shot came hurrying down the stairs. Called a squad car
- 14:24parked at the currents Oh dol, you got here just in time? Yeah?
- 14:28Sure, what time? Have a break? Color? You picked up
- 14:33Elaine, But this might be better COTTI hospital, Joe. Some woman took
- 14:37an overdose of sleeping toes with an whole picture of the Center birds in her
- 14:41hands. A personally autographed copy of one of his books was on the bed
- 14:43table beside it stopped at the six Maybe what are you holding out? At
- 14:48tennant? They found a twenty five caliber Loretta automatic. You know, many
- 15:11great men have attained the highest office in our land, the presidency of the
- 15:13United States. Can you guess the name of this man? He rose through
- 15:18the presidency through successful careers as lawyer, army officer, and statesman. No
- 15:26President Garfield offered him a cabinet position. He turned it down to become a
- 15:30senator from Ohio. Later, as President, he recommended the annexation of Hawaii,
- 15:37but his term expired before the bill could be acted on. He also
- 15:41helped the admission of North and South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho,
- 15:45and Wyoming as states. If you don't have his name by now, here's
- 15:48another clue. In eighteen ninety he signed a bill giving tension to American war
- 15:54veterans. Who was Benjamin Harrison whatenty third President of the United States. His
- 16:00life is part of your American heritage. And now with our star John Lund,
- 16:11we bring you the second act of yours, truly Johnny dollars to run
- 16:29out to wood Street and Cook County Hospitals. That is approximately twelve minutes.
- 16:33One of the interns on Judy as the emergency entrance gave us a briefing in
- 16:37one of the admittance rooms. He's only gone on Earth. Isn't much?
- 16:41Do you want to commit? About twenty minutes ago? Yeah. Jane Doe
- 16:45Wright, female American about thirty years of age, reported Simpsons overdose, sub
- 16:51berpetuates sem a comic. Those conditions pulse, respiration and blood pressure, normal
- 16:56semi contents, removes, immulents administered, hypodermacray faced in temporary and three twelve.
- 17:00You know there was a highlights coming seemed to be a few discrepancies.
- 17:06Listenant how the normal posts blood pressure, respiration is. They don't fit in
- 17:08with my ideas about the symptoms of my bituate poisoning. They very definitely don't.
- 17:14I'd say the answer about tender one that the lab reportal shows stomach content
- 17:18to be none. Uh huh. Let's have a look at it, Ella,
- 17:30Martin, give me, Martin, Please forgive me. I didn't need
- 17:37to do it, Martin. But it's all right now, darling, we
- 17:41will be together. We'd like to ask you a few questions. No,
- 17:47no, go away, leave me alone. Please leave me alone, Martin,
- 17:53Martin, Martin, I'm a police officer. This who's one, Chuck?
- 18:00Please? This is Johnny doll and children. I don't care what you
- 18:06are. I'll go away. Please go away. Leave me here with my
- 18:11memories of Martin? What was Martin Vaneburg? Do you He was my one
- 18:17and only true love. I worshiped at the shrine of his genius. Life
- 18:23isn't worth living without him? He was the shining beacon with my one and
- 18:27only guiding light. Are you were sure that shining beacon isn't a spotlight at
- 18:33that grindhouse? On North Clark Street. What are you talking to your dolly
- 18:38darling? Aren't you the one whose building is the competuous sweetheart of Tcheptercian delights?
- 18:45So what that gotta do with my love for Martin Vaneburg. You gotta
- 18:48be able to prove it. I gotta prove enough for me. That's Ham
- 18:53and me with secret lovers, Right, have you got to come around crying
- 18:57into a person's secret life? Well, there happened to be a few laws
- 19:00concerning attempted to suicide with dunning laws means mentioned a few about finding a false
- 19:08crime report. Now wait a minute, I didn't do nothing wrong. Letter
- 19:12start talking this. That's low down thirty thinking Sammy Farwell, you're press agent.
- 19:22Yeah, his idea. I told him it was nuts that we couldn't
- 19:26get away with it. But no, he's got himself delusion. It's be
- 19:30a Stimmicks and Finnam, he says. So what's what happens? Get myself
- 19:33in a damn and it's loudsy perfectory, Get a wrestle with a stomach pump
- 19:37yet and so what what am I gonna get out of it? Now?
- 19:41Probably thirty to ninety days, depending on the judge. Back at the Chicago
- 19:52Avenue station Boyshock went through the routine on Dolly Darling and her publicity agents Sam
- 19:56Farwell. It turned out just about as we expected. Wow, there it
- 20:02is tell but let's six clears the twenty five caliber Baretta they had planted as
- 20:06a prop to the publicity. Has done any previous arrests, A couple of
- 20:11lute performances for Dale's and Alderness for follows, dissemination of pornographic literature, assaults,
- 20:17no convictions. Beneberg's name doesn't show any the package of Well, it
- 20:21doesn't help much in a little matter of who killed him, don't And I'm
- 20:23waiting for Helene Bennevert to do that. Expected to show up at Hamley tonight.
- 20:27It could be. And if she doesn't, so we got a tale
- 20:30on Hannah. He might lead us to her. If not, our app
- 20:33will pick her up potentially. Maybe he don't sound very convinced. I guess
- 20:37I'm just not the optimistic type. It's not the rest of the day,
- 20:45covering the bars, bookie joints, and assorted dives on the Near North Side
- 20:49that had been notoriously frequented by Martin Beneberg, I wound up in Dalton Powler's
- 20:55neighborhood. No wise other when I started, I figured I had nothing to
- 20:57lose by paying a little social your goal. I take it, mister Donner,
- 21:02that your visit has no connection with whatever impression my charm with and Brigins
- 21:07may have had a funny earlier today. Or maybe you're being till modest,
- 21:11mister Teller. Oh, modesty is an attribute, or leave the mediocrecer is
- 21:15unbecoming in the redom of talent and utterly irreconcilable with the genius. Well,
- 21:18then the which categories of those poems of yours fall? Poems? Sir?
- 21:23The ones you were rushing to Martin Vaneburg when you found his body. Oh,
- 21:27they're not worthy of discussion, insignificant in conception, pure island realization.
- 21:33I destroyed them? Is that what you did with Vaneburg's work too? You're
- 21:37meaning estaps me. Vaneburg was working on something, the first writing he's done
- 21:42in twenty years. He's done at it steadily for a week, but the
- 21:47police didn't find a trace of manuscript. What happened to it, mister Teller?
- 21:52I trust my impression that you're accusing me of having Builford is erroneous.
- 21:56Mister Doller, you found his body, true, But I found those ad
- 22:00manuscript. They don't have a chairway, but the police are bound to take
- 22:04up that manuscript sometimes one moment, Sir, yeah, there is something I
- 22:11can tell you. Well, let's have it. Martin Vanneberg was writing.
- 22:18It was being done under contact with someone for money. Who was he writing
- 22:21it? For so far I've been unable to ascertain, but he showed me
- 22:25some of this. It was incredible, mister Duller. Badly written. Martin
- 22:30Vanneberg was utterly incapable of writing even one interior line. Sir, No,
- 22:33it was the contents to which I refer indescribable. He will find it impossible
- 22:40to believe. So you took the manuscript and destroyed it. It's what I
- 22:42would have wished to do. Unfortunately, there was no place of the manuscript
- 22:45when I arrived there. He started writing this just just about the time his
- 22:51wife disappeared. Any connection a definite one, sir. Elaine has stood by
- 22:55him all these years because of her faith, But someday he would write again.
- 23:00When he began and she learned what he was doing, it was impossible
- 23:03for her to bear she left him. I suppose that's why I wanted to
- 23:07take her name out an insurance policy. Such I believe was his intentions.
- 23:11Why tell me all this now, Tyler? It was your reference to the
- 23:15police possibly finding that manuscript. You're hoping that I'll find it first and destroy
- 23:19it. If the Rebirth of the Soaring Phoenix Becaus was Martin Zenneberg should be
- 23:23prostrated because of that writing, it would be the most heinous of all crimes,
- 23:27mister Dollar, worse than murder in my humble opinion, sir, Yeah,
- 23:38it was getting on tow at eight o'clock when I left Collars, so
- 23:41I called the tenant voice. You ought to see if he was ready to
- 23:44keep our appointment with Richard Hamley. You don't have the father going over there
- 23:47now? Dollar? Why Apple? Yeah? Where? And the Chicago rib
- 23:52It morning face John? Preliminary examination shows she'd died about twelve to twenty four
- 24:04hours ago. All the times could match pretty closely with Martin's death. Yeah,
- 24:08so could the probable cause of death. A couple of small collip of
- 24:11bullet wounds to blistics to identity again, But what about Richard Hamley? Right
- 24:17now? He's other physician's care broke down completely when they give him the news,
- 24:21it's possibly he did it. Of course, jealousy could give him a
- 24:23pretty good motive for Martin's death. Doesn't tie in with Helene very well.
- 24:27Yeah, that'll be our headache from now on. Well, at least your
- 24:33jobs over. Yeah, it looks like it, but I'm in no hurry.
- 24:37Oh you've got someone in your mind. Two things, a missing manuscripts
- 24:42and a twenty five caliber berretta. Yeah, I think maybe I got the
- 24:47gun and figure. So let's try to manuscript first. But Vonneberg was writing
- 24:51again, conting to Tower, it was the kind of literature they sell him
- 24:55back room and dark alleys teller. I think somebody who pedals that stuff gave
- 24:59him a commit Yeah, and that starts to tie in with a gun fat
- 25:03on the top, somebody new enough to use the baretta as the plant,
- 25:07and that publicity son of Dolly Darlings. Even ballistics didn't know the type gun
- 25:12that had killed Benneberg until maybe an hour before. On pornographic literature, molisting
- 25:18seems to be a motive. Why don't we drop over the dollar the Darlings
- 25:21press age. A few people can follow The offices of Sami Firewell Publicists were
- 25:32located on the third floor of an old office building on north Wells Street.
- 25:41It's three eleven height down that way. Yeah, come on, dollars hollow
- 25:55open up, police, oper goods. Oh, put up, let it
- 25:57break it down. Wait a minute. Ah, good evening, gentlemen,
- 26:06Welcome to the sacrificial ceremony. Allah, something's burning in our waist. Backs,
- 26:10pray, pray, do enough of yourselves, gentlemen, it's much too
- 26:11late. The last worst of Martin Veneberg have already been reduced to ashes words.
- 26:17Farwell in the inner officer, Oh Nonisa hates he's quite incapable leading there
- 26:22under his own locomotion. Looks like Tyler's right. Yes, there's the barrella
- 26:32he is. I trust to agree. If this is a most satisfactory evenings
- 26:37with gentlemen, all right, salaveater about it. Of course, Lieutenant,
- 26:41I must confess I feel quite proud of myself for what has just transpired.
- 26:45You knew Farwell. It's killed Martin and Helene not his actual identity. No,
- 26:48but there had been worried around of a violent disagreement over the unwelcome attentions
- 26:52Martin sponsor the painted Helene. It obviously ends in the shooting. Then he
- 26:56disposed of Helene later as a popular witness. But didn't you come to the
- 27:00police with us, my dear lieutenant, It was only the manuscript that would
- 27:04a concern to me. It was Chael that I get to it before you
- 27:07did. And not until mister Dollar departed my umble abode did I learned father's
- 27:12identity through the good officers of an old conflaire. So you came up here,
- 27:17shot him and burned the script in essence, Yes, there was a
- 27:22bit of disagreement involving that gun in there. Yeah, no need to appear
- 27:26so discomfort with mister Dollar. I would say that old in old in all,
- 27:30when the phoenix does eventually arise from the ashes, he would agree that
- 27:33things had turned out quite wet. Expense a count adom of five nineteen dollars
- 27:53and forty cents, So tell villain. Miscellaneous expense a count adom of six
- 27:57fifty seven dollars and sixty cents. Air fare and incidentals back to hyperd expensive
- 28:02on total one hundred and fifty three dollars and fifty cents. Yours, pretty
- 28:07John Dollar, welcome back. Kind of an interesting look at how society viewed
- 28:29explicit material back in the nineteen fifties. Reminds me a little bit of the
- 28:33episode of Dragnet called the Big Producers. This ended to be viewed so negatively
- 28:40you'd rarely seen it, seen it in plots, so when it does show
- 28:44up, it is kind of rare, I have to say, even today.
- 28:47It'd be a somewhat tragic fate. From a literary standpoint, if a
- 28:52great Rider were produced to writing smutty material in their older ages in order to
- 29:00be able to make a living, they'll brahmp. Some might say that that's
- 29:06kind of what goes on in some books. Well, anyway, we do
- 29:10turn down listener comments and feedback. Russell writes in from US South Carolina,
- 29:17said, I just want you to know that I really enjoy your show,
- 29:21go to bad listening to it every night. Keep up the good work.
- 29:23Well, thanks so much, Russ. And then we have this from Thomas
- 29:27who rides over on Facebook. The Great Detectors of Old Time Radio was a
- 29:33great fun for me. Thanks so much for making this material so readily available.
- 29:37All right, Well, that will actually do it for today. We
- 29:41will be back tomorrow. Our first ever Saturday show, a regular show.
- 29:47Join us for the lineup, and then join us back here next Friday for
