- 2:14Hello everybody and welcome back to the show.
- 2:17My name is Will Walden. I am your host and tonight
- 2:20tonight tonight this is Monday the 6th of January 2020 tonight
- 2:26at 8:00 we're going to be starting our stream for the
- 2:30SpaceX starlink launch number three on the YouTube channel.
- 2:35Go to youtube.com slash space news pod all one word
- 2:39youtube.com slash space news. Pod and at 8:00, we're going to
- 2:47be talking about starlink going to be talking about SpaceX Elon
- 2:50Musk, we talking about the mission, what it means and why
- 2:55SpaceX and starlink are so important to the 2020 rocket
- 3:00launch. You know, ecosystem, all
- 3:04together because basically SpaceX is launching.
- 3:09What will be the most satellites ever.
- 3:13I'm a single company. So they'll be operating the most
- 3:17satellites in orbit around the Earth at any time ever.
- 3:21This is groundbreaking record-breaking.
- 3:23And with this launch today tonight, they're actually
- 3:26breaking that record. So this is important tonight to
- 3:31watch this. Check it out, this is history in
- 3:32the making. So I'll be there hosting it.
- 3:35I'll be hanging out talking to you all.
- 3:38And you know, let's talk about some space X.
- 3:41Let's talk about starlink And so I got a quick question from
- 3:45somebody the other day and they asked, can crew Dragon spacex's
- 3:51crew, Dragon capsule, which will be bringing people from American
- 3:56soil on an American rocket to the ISS, for the first time
- 3:59since the space shuttle. Will that have bathrooms in it?
- 4:05And I thought, well, it's a pretty quick trip.
- 4:06Probably don't need it. But let me ask.
- 4:10Let me see. Well, I found out there is no
- 4:13facilities in crew Dragon. So rest assured, the astronauts,
- 4:19the people on board. They have to go before they
- 4:23launch. So there's no bathrooms.
- 4:25No facilities on crew. Dragon on the way from Earth to
- 4:30the International Space Station. So, that's a pretty funny kind
- 4:34of quick Court. Quirky thing that somebody asked
- 4:37me and I appreciate that. Now, if you have a question
- 4:40about SpaceX, if you have two In about starlink, hit me up on
- 4:44Twitter with the hashtag. Ask Will hashtag asx2, wi l, 1,
- 4:52L. So a SK W, IL ask me, questions
- 4:55on Twitter, I'll make sure to get to everybody.
- 5:00On the broadcast or if you want to come and hang out, just ask a
- 5:03question in the chat itself. So I really, really do
- 5:09appreciate all of your time, all of your support.
- 5:12And I'm happy to keep doing these podcasts because this is
- 5:16really, really fun for me. So come on down to the YouTube
- 5:19channel today, youtube.com slash space news pod hangout,
- 5:22subscribe ring the bell, whatever all that stuff, and
- 5:27we'll talk about some space X and some starling.
- 5:29Consume Elon Musk stuff. So that's about it for this
- 5:34launch today they're launching 60 satellites into orbit and
- 5:39they have actually this is kind of cool.
- 5:41There's one special satellite and this whole 60 satellite
- 5:47array. One satellite has the bottom of
- 5:51it coated so it's non-reflective because astronomers were getting
- 5:56upset that they were shiny things in the sky, which would
- 6:00kind of interfere with their, with their viewing of the night
- 6:05sky. So Elon Musk and SpaceX that,
- 6:07okay, yeah, well work with you on this.
- 6:10Let's let's test it out. First before we do all of our
- 6:12satellites like this, we'll put a coating on the bottom.
- 6:16That's a non-reflective because I know I have a telescope.
- 6:21I know when I see a shiny thing in the sky, it, you know,
- 6:25sometimes a set, a little fly by I'm like, whoa, what was that?
- 6:28But these ones are lower the lower to the Earth so they're
- 6:33easier to see and they're bigger and they're brighter when they
- 6:36get into your scope. So if you're viewing say a
- 6:40nebula, that's hundreds of thousands of light years away.
- 6:44And then all of a sudden said like Right?
- 6:46Well, in Array of satellites Streak by it, ruins your vision
- 6:50for a minute and that could be very detrimental to the viewing
- 6:56and the the fun of it. So they're doing a really cool
- 7:00thing with that one. Starling satellite tonight.
- 7:03Very cool. So yeah that's about it for
- 7:06today. I just want to let you guys know
- 7:08what's going on. Launch time is at 9:19 p.m.
- 7:11Eastern YouTube. Come to my YouTube channel,
- 7:15space news pod. And YouTube and we're starting
- 7:18the show at 8:00 just kind of a hangout.
