- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome into another episode of the
- 0:12Speaker 1: check O Daily. Andrew Decheco, Eagles beat reporter for Insidethbirds
- 0:17Speaker 1: dot Com. Here gonna make this one relatively quick. We're
- 0:20Speaker 1: going through my third day options from my mock draft
- 0:24Speaker 1: three point zero to recap about the day one and
- 0:29Speaker 1: day two selections. Round one, pick number twenty three, Maxianachor tacko,
- 0:34Speaker 1: Arizona State. Round two, pick number fifty four, Eli Stowers
- 0:39Speaker 1: tight end, Vanderbilt. Round three, pick number sixty eight, Ted
- 0:43Speaker 1: Hurst wide receiver, Georgia State. Round three, pick number ninety eight.
- 0:47Speaker 1: J Shawn Barum edge, Michigan. Picking things up in round four,
- 0:54Speaker 1: number one fourteen. This is from the Falcons. The Eagles
- 0:57Speaker 1: get a safety and that's Genesis Smith at Arizona. And
- 1:02Speaker 1: I know what you're probably thinking, The Eagles have to
- 1:05Speaker 1: address safety earlier than pick number one fourteen, Right, Well,
- 1:09Speaker 1: not necessarily. There's reason for bullishness when it comes to
- 1:12Speaker 1: Drew mccouba, and it does remain a position of need
- 1:17Speaker 1: to be sure, but the team did draft proof the
- 1:19Speaker 1: roster in free agency by resigning veteran Marcus Aps. The
- 1:23Speaker 1: Eagles also believe Michael Carter the second con factor into
- 1:26Speaker 1: the equation, and historically it isn't a position that the
- 1:30Speaker 1: Eagles typically prioritize, but that doesn't mean that it's a
- 1:36Speaker 1: position in which the Eagles have an abundance of talent
- 1:39Speaker 1: that they should feel comfortable with. It's evident that they're
- 1:42Speaker 1: thin there. And you should also note that JT. Gray
- 1:47Speaker 1: a free agent signing, he predominantly projects as a special
- 1:50Speaker 1: team stand out, and the Eagles land value in this
- 1:54Speaker 1: particular scenario by getting Genesis Smith. And Smith is twenty
- 1:59Speaker 1: one years old, six foot two, two hundred and two pounds,
- 2:02Speaker 1: started twenty two games for Arizona. He has good range
- 2:06Speaker 1: and coverage acumen, leaves a little bit to be desired
- 2:10Speaker 1: when it comes to playing the run and being physical
- 2:13Speaker 1: and tackling with consistency. You would think that that might
- 2:16Speaker 1: not jive with vic Vangio, but when I look at
- 2:19Speaker 1: his skill set, he fits the mold of a modern
- 2:22Speaker 1: NFL safety with the range and the length and all
- 2:26Speaker 1: of those attributes that I think really lend itself to
- 2:29Speaker 1: being an effective safety in the modern era. Alongside Drew mccuba,
- 2:33Speaker 1: who has pretty impressive coverage acumen in his own right,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and I think the athleticism and coverage ability would would
- 2:40Speaker 1: really complement mcuba and Genesis Smith. With a twenty twenty
- 2:45Speaker 1: five thirteen off Big twelve selection, seventy seven tackles, three
- 2:49Speaker 1: for loss, eight pass defended, and a pair of force
- 2:52Speaker 1: fumbles and an interception to go along with it, I
- 2:54Speaker 1: think that would be really good value if the Eagles
- 2:56Speaker 1: can land Genesis Smith there, or maybe a Kamari Ramsey
- 3:03Speaker 1: from USC. He's kind of a tone setter, an enforcer.
- 3:08Speaker 1: This is more of a finesse type of player that
- 3:11Speaker 1: I just I feel like would translate better in today's NFL.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Picked four, number one, thirty seven Caleb Proctor, defensive tackle,
- 3:22Speaker 1: Southeastern Louisiana. Caleb Procter is one of my favorite players
- 3:25Speaker 1: in this draft class. When it comes to Day three,
- 3:30Speaker 1: players could even be a Day two guy. And I
- 3:33Speaker 1: think when you see the small school label, you immediately
- 3:37Speaker 1: start to think about jay loox Hunt. But the Eagles
- 3:40Speaker 1: this offseason they extended Jordan Davis. They have to pay
- 3:43Speaker 1: Jalen Carter. That's on the way. Moro Jomo, who had
- 3:48Speaker 1: six sacs last year. He's going into the final year
- 3:51Speaker 1: of his rookie deal. They drafted Ty Robinson in the
- 3:53Speaker 1: fourth round and Byron Young provided a quality depth last season,
- 3:57Speaker 1: but I think adding another cost trolled option into the
- 4:01Speaker 1: fold would really solidify that long term security. And Procter's
- 4:05Speaker 1: twenty two years old and he kind of profiles similar
- 4:09Speaker 1: to a Jomo when it comes to the first step, quickness,
- 4:12Speaker 1: the leverage, and the violent hands. He was the twenty
- 4:16Speaker 1: twenty five Southland Player of the Year. He had nine sacks,
- 4:19Speaker 1: including two against LSU. I mentioned this on this podcast before,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but that's a good indicator of a small schools player
- 4:28Speaker 1: being able to translate against upper echelon competition, as evidence
- 4:32Speaker 1: by what he did against the LSU Tigers. And he
- 4:36Speaker 1: had thirteen tackles for loss. So this is a disruptive
- 4:38Speaker 1: player and he's quick, thirty three inch arms, doesn't have
- 4:43Speaker 1: the arm length of a Jomo, but six foot two,
- 4:46Speaker 1: two hundred and ninety one pounds, he could be an impactful,
- 4:49Speaker 1: rotational guy who will provide juice as a pocket pusher.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And I wouldn't be shocked if Procter's skill set and
- 4:56Speaker 1: intangibles like I mentioned propel him into the back end
- 4:59Speaker 1: of Day two. Just my opinion. Round five pick number
- 5:04Speaker 1: one seventy eight and as Cooper guard Miami. Previous picking
- 5:10Speaker 1: this space Colepeaton quarterback, North Dakota State. I have the
- 5:12Speaker 1: Eagles going quarterback here in this previous exercise, but you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: when you have three already on the roster who were
- 5:18Speaker 1: in trench and now you're down to eight picks, my
- 5:22Speaker 1: focus had to go elsewhere, and you have to go
- 5:24Speaker 1: with the position that they could really use. And if
- 5:27Speaker 1: you draft a quarterback here in the fifth round, it's
- 5:31Speaker 1: not a slam dunk that they make the roster, and
- 5:33Speaker 1: you don't want to burn a pick necessarily. So the
- 5:36Speaker 1: Eagles lack for guard depth, and this feels like a
- 5:38Speaker 1: good spot to reinforce with some developmental upside. Cooper's twenty
- 5:43Speaker 1: two years old. He started forty five games at right
- 5:45Speaker 1: guard for the Hurricanes. He uses his frame, which is
- 5:48Speaker 1: six foot six, three hundred and thirty four pounds and
- 5:51Speaker 1: a wingspan that hovers around eighty four inches to bully
- 5:54Speaker 1: defensive lineman. He was a twenty twenty five second team
- 5:58Speaker 1: All acc selection, and he plays with an edge. He
- 6:01Speaker 1: would provide experience, power, and nastiness to a relatively barren
- 6:05Speaker 1: collection of reserve interior alignment.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, Game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 6:12Speaker 2: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 6:15Speaker 2: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is

- 7:04Speaker 2: and an experience made for Philly fans. Twenty one and up.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Rounding things out with round six pick number one ninety
- 7:14Speaker 1: seven Andre four cornerback Toledo no change from my two
- 7:19Speaker 1: point zero edition. The Eagles signed Rike Wohen they have
- 7:23Speaker 1: Jonathan Jones and they added them in for agency, and
- 7:28Speaker 1: they have an abundance of holdovers Keeley Ringo, Jacoryan Bennett,
- 7:33Speaker 1: mac McWilliams, you name it. They're expected to contend for
- 7:37Speaker 1: depth roles. But what's one more to add to the mix.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And Fuller at the NFL Scating Combine made mention of
- 7:45Speaker 1: Quinnon Mitchell's influence and shaping his game. I was there.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I asked him about Quiyon Mitchell and his influence, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: Quinnon also prepared him for what's ahead. He collected twenty
- 7:55Speaker 1: nine tackles, two and a half for loss, eleven passes defended,
- 7:58Speaker 1: and an interception along the Fumber recovery last season for
- 8:01Speaker 1: the Toledo Rockets. And Fuller has a prototypical frame for
- 8:05Speaker 1: the perimeter. He's six foot one, two hundred pounds. He
- 8:08Speaker 1: plays the position with a physical edge, which it's fun
- 8:12Speaker 1: to watch when you go back and watch his twenty
- 8:14Speaker 1: twenty five tape. And he plays, Yeah, He's shown a
- 8:20Speaker 1: habit of competing through the catch. Sometimes he gets a
- 8:23Speaker 1: little handsy, which you're gonna have to be mindful of.
- 8:25Speaker 1: At the next level they will call that. And there's
- 8:28Speaker 1: area of his game that need refinement, like ball tracking
- 8:32Speaker 1: and maybe even tackling with more consistency. But we're splitting
- 8:36Speaker 1: hairs here from a cornerback position. But he does represent
- 8:40Speaker 1: late round upside who could challenge for a death position.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Nothing's assured when it comes to Jagorian Bennett Keely Ringo
- 8:46Speaker 1: has a little bit more solid footing given that he's
- 8:49Speaker 1: one of the best gunners in the NFL, but there's
- 8:52Speaker 1: still questions there. That's a position that I would expect
- 8:56Speaker 1: them to sort of carpet bomb and have enough players
- 8:59Speaker 1: there that are gonna bring out the best kind of
- 9:01Speaker 1: like what they're doing with wide receiver, So that wouldn't
- 9:04Speaker 1: really surprise me, and I think in the with the
- 9:06Speaker 1: final pick it might it would serve the Eagles well
- 9:10Speaker 1: to go with a position that is a priority in
- 9:13Speaker 1: the NFL. That's gonna do it for this episode of
- 9:16Speaker 1: The check O Dally Andrew de Checko here and I'll
- 9:18Speaker 1: catch you all on the next one.
