- 0:00Speaker 1: You have all the headlines, everything we need to know, 659,
- 0:02Speaker 1: and what do you have?
- 0:04Speaker 2: Good morning, Covey. Yes, well, we have good news about
- 0:06Speaker 2: the Yankees, right? They take the wild card series.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Off to the next round.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Off to the next round. They face the Tampa Bay Rays.
- 0:13Speaker 1: On Saturday, right?
- 0:13Speaker 2: On Saturday. Okay, so Yankees get some good rest for
- 0:16Speaker 2: a couple of days and get ready for that. Also
- 0:20Speaker 2: in the news this morning, Congress is on a break
- 0:22Speaker 2: until after the midterms. Senate wrapped up its work late
- 0:26Speaker 2: yesterday while members of the House left early. So now
- 0:29Speaker 2: lawmakers from both sides are in recess until after the
- 0:32Speaker 2: November elections. It looks like there's going to be a
- 0:35Speaker 2: lot of campaigning happening very soon, so get used to
- 0:38Speaker 2: seeing that. If you're looking to pre-order Apple's first foldable iPhone,
- 0:43Speaker 2: beware of scams. Malwarebytes reports that there is this very
- 0:48Speaker 2: realistic-looking pre-order page for the iPhone Duo, and it resembles
- 0:54Speaker 2: the Apple page. It's got a tab that offers a
- 0:56Speaker 2: $ 500 voucher. Very deceptive, reportedly using a tool that can
- 1:01Speaker 2: break into vulnerable iPhones, which could then steal sensitive data.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Really scary.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So we've got to be careful with that. There has
- 1:08Speaker 2: also been a parking meter scam around town, but fortunately
- 1:12Speaker 2: police have arrested a suspect. He was putting fake QR
- 1:16Speaker 2: code stickers on the parking meters. And then when you
- 1:19Speaker 2: went to pay for parking, it was like going into
- 1:20Speaker 2: his account.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I don't trust anybody anymore.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Allegedly. Yes. And of course, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- 1:28Speaker 2: The World Health Organization saying in 2024, over 2 million
- 1:31Speaker 2: women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer. So we'll be
- 1:35Speaker 2: raising awareness throughout the month. An event to kick it
- 1:37Speaker 2: off today at Grand Central. In sports baseball, Yankees swept
- 1:41Speaker 2: the Red Sox. They won 9-2. They move on to
- 1:44Speaker 2: play the Rays on Saturday. Thursday night football, Steelers beat
- 1:47Speaker 2: the Browns. Steelers, they didn't beat them yet. They play
- 1:50Speaker 2: the Browns.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Are you picking already? At 8-15.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I'm not. Would you know, by the way?
- 1:54Speaker 1: I'm not picking tonight's game, but I know what.
- 1:57Speaker 2: If one of those guys are going to win, one
- 1:59Speaker 2: is going to win.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That's actually a good one, I think.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Steelers over the Browns.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Because the Browns are surprisingly 2-1. Okay. And Pittsburgh is,
- 2:06Speaker 1: what's their record? What are they? 2-1. They're both 2-1,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and they're both kind of rivals.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And producers, Kristen's going with the Browns, and she usually.
- 2:14Speaker 1: No, it's not a pick. Not your pick. No.
- 2:16Speaker 2: No, no, no. I thought your official pick, but between
- 2:18Speaker 2: those two teams.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Okay, and the Browns are at home tonight. So, all right,
- 2:22Speaker 1: this is not an official pick.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Not an official, no, no, no.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But maybe take the Browns tonight if you're a betting person.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I shouldn't have thrown the question out there. It
- 2:29Speaker 2: just threw us for a loop.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's all good.
- 2:32Speaker 2: All right. When you're talking on the phone, it still
- 2:35Speaker 2: happens from time to time, which ear do you hold
- 2:38Speaker 2: the phone up to? Science has discovered that if you
- 2:40Speaker 2: hold the phone to your left ear, you tend to
- 2:43Speaker 2: be empathetic, extra creative, and intuitive. And you also don't
- 2:48Speaker 2: like to follow the rules. If you hold it to
- 2:50Speaker 2: your right ear, Chances are you're logical, detail-oriented, and able
- 2:54Speaker 2: to devise practical solutions to any problem.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Well, I do my right ear, but it's because I'm right-handed.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I think the same. Didn't it come down to that?
- 3:01Speaker 2: I think the same. And Kristen is a lefty, and
- 3:04Speaker 2: she holds it up to her.
- 3:05Speaker 1: She's the only lefty in the room.
- 3:06Speaker 2: All right, let's tell the scientists no.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Rip that story up.
- 3:10Speaker 2: We disagree. We disagree.
