- 2:16Speaker 1: If you're watching YouTube, hit the hype button also. Right.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's a ranking system. It's stupid. But YouTube changes the
- 2:24Speaker 1: rules all the time. So but we have a lot
- 2:28Speaker 1: to talk about this week. Last week, real quick, last week,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I didn't do a new show, but I did drop
- 2:37Speaker 1: a brand new edition or episode in the series of
- 2:41Speaker 1: 1996 commemorating 30 years of hip hop, 12 albums. From 1996.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Most considered classics. Where I talked about each album. Each month.
- 2:56Speaker 1: With a guest. Typically on or around. Actual release date.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Or anniversary. And the latest episode. Was Outkast's. AT Aliens.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Outkast's sophomore album. It was the album. After you saw Outkast.
- 3:16Speaker 1: At the Source Awards. And Andre said. The South Got
- 3:20Speaker 1: Something to Say, AT Aliens was that album. My guest
- 3:26Speaker 1: was Deltron, you know what I'm saying? Originally from New Orleans,
- 3:30Speaker 1: but lived in Atlanta for some time. Big Outkast fan,
- 3:33Speaker 1: big fan of that album. So we talk about that album,
- 3:36Speaker 1: the time, the music, what happened afterwards, all kinds of
- 3:40Speaker 1: good things in hip hop. So check that out if
- 3:43Speaker 1: you haven't already. And next month or this month in September,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and I think that's coming up pretty soon, we're going
- 3:52Speaker 1: to be doing The Roots, Illidelf, Half-Life with somebody from Philly.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So stay tuned, stay locked into the channel. You hit subscribe,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you hit that notification bell so you get notified when
- 4:05Speaker 1: there's a new episode. You know, that's all we ask, okay? Now,
- 4:10Speaker 1: big shout out to Social media, hip hop, social media, variety,
- 4:17Speaker 1: hot new hip hop in a couple of places where
- 4:19Speaker 1: I'm getting these stories from. Let's get right into the
- 4:21Speaker 1: business stuff. Jay-Z. Jay-Z has been celebrating the anniversaries of
- 4:31Speaker 1: Reasonable Doubt, which is 30 years of Reasonable Doubt. I
- 4:37Speaker 1: also did an episode on Reasonable Doubt. Check that out
- 4:41Speaker 1: on the channel. But also the Blueprint. And he's been
- 4:45Speaker 1: doing things like bringing his singles. And I don't want
- 4:51Speaker 1: to say bringing his past singles to social media because
- 4:55Speaker 1: I think all of these old singles that he's dropped
- 5:00Speaker 1: on streaming services, music streaming services, were already available on Tidal.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But now available on Apple Music. It's stuff like Can't
- 5:11Speaker 1: Knock the Hustle, Maxi Single, and Dead Presidents, and a
- 5:16Speaker 1: couple of joints. So it's been this big rollout. He
- 5:19Speaker 1: did the big concert at Yankee Stadium the whole weekend,
- 5:23Speaker 1: sold out, packed. Sunday was crazy. I think people had
- 5:28Speaker 1: to wait like two hours, and he still did the show.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Whole rollout. He's been in London recently, pop-up shop. He
- 5:35Speaker 1: did a pop-up joint in New York. Like just really
- 5:39Speaker 1: going on like a tour celebrating 30 years of Reasonable Doubt,
- 5:45Speaker 1: specifically his debut album. And this week, Roc Nation put
- 5:55Speaker 1: on social media and everybody in hip hop media ran
- 5:58Speaker 1: with it that Jay-Z was going to have a listening party,
- 6:04Speaker 1: a public listening party, digital listening but public nevertheless. And
- 6:10Speaker 1: that meant that you as a fan could tune in
- 6:14Speaker 1: to this, go to this website and play a role
- 6:17Speaker 1: in sitting there and checking out music. Now, let me
- 6:21Speaker 1: tell y'all for the uninitiated, typically when you hear about
- 6:26Speaker 1: a listening party, especially if you were in radio or
- 6:30Speaker 1: media or in the record business, typically you were getting
- 6:37Speaker 1: a preview of new music. And the whole purpose of
- 6:42Speaker 1: having the listening party is to get feedback before they
- 6:47Speaker 1: release the album. So everybody, including myself, assumed like, oh,
- 6:53Speaker 1: he having a listening party? This is it. I've been
- 6:57Speaker 1: predicting probably the last five years, like, oh, Jay-Z dropping, right? Whatever.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But now I'm like, okay. 2026, Reasonable Doubt. It's the
- 7:08Speaker 1: perfect time to drop an album. But I didn't attend.
- 7:16Speaker 1: But the internet attended and reported back and said Jay-Z
- 7:21Speaker 1: was playing old shit. What a waste of time. Playing
- 7:28Speaker 1: records we heard before. What kind of listening party is this?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Didn't we just hear this music? Didn't you just release
- 7:33Speaker 1: it all on streaming services and we was running that
- 7:36Speaker 1: and we went to the concert and we was running
- 7:38Speaker 1: that and on the anniversary we hashtagged and talked about
- 7:42Speaker 1: reasonable doubt and blueprints and we ran that. Now you're
- 7:45Speaker 1: going to ask us to come to a listening party
- 7:47Speaker 1: to listen to the same stuff? Yes. Jay-Z is playing games, y'all.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And I don't know how to feel about it. On
- 7:59Speaker 1: the one side, a little personal business, you know, out
- 8:03Speaker 1: of high school, I was a marketing major with a
- 8:06Speaker 1: scholarship going to Morgan State University to hopefully become alumni
- 8:13Speaker 1: at that point in time of the Earl Graves School
- 8:18Speaker 1: of Business. I was really proud. And then I changed
- 8:21Speaker 1: my major and all that good stuff. But I said
- 8:24Speaker 1: all I had to say, I've always been attracted to marketing,
- 8:27Speaker 1: even if I didn't pursue the business degree. And I
- 8:33Speaker 1: think this is great for marketing. Maybe not for fans.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Maybe not for fans who are anticipating, like myself, some
- 8:43Speaker 1: new Jay-Z. This isn't fun. But what it's doing is
- 8:51Speaker 1: he's constantly teasing the idea that an album's coming. He's
- 8:58Speaker 1: doing things that he's done in the past that would
- 9:01Speaker 1: suggest Jay-Z has an album dropping, but They have denied
- 9:06Speaker 1: an album is even in the works. And I think
- 9:11Speaker 1: at this point, if he wasn't going to play at
- 9:14Speaker 1: least one song at a listening party, then he's just
- 9:19Speaker 1: buying time for a shadow drop or a buildup sometime
- 9:26Speaker 1: in the fall, maybe even this month, you know, but
- 9:31Speaker 1: definitely somewhere between September I was thinking more October through, honestly,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I was thinking December. I feel like Jay-Z is going
- 9:43Speaker 1: to drop an album probably on his birthday, which also
- 9:46Speaker 1: happens to be Happy Ether Day, but who's counting? So
- 9:51Speaker 1: I don't know. I thought that was a bad idea
- 9:57Speaker 1: to have a list, to call it a list in
- 9:59Speaker 1: the party, right? Like at least have a situation where, oh,
- 10:07Speaker 1: fans join us for a listening party where Jay-Z gives
- 10:12Speaker 1: you some insight into his thought process or his life.
- 10:17Speaker 1: when he was making these records off of these albums
- 10:22Speaker 1: that are now 30 years, well, reasonable doubt, 30 years
- 10:27Speaker 1: old and maybe even Blueprint. Don't just play records because
- 10:36Speaker 1: in the same vein, he has a documentary on HBO
- 10:42Speaker 1: coming up where he's being interviewed by Rick Rubin and
- 10:44Speaker 1: it feels like they're going to do the same thing.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I know they're not going to play new music because
- 10:51Speaker 1: that would be weird. But from the previews, it's really
- 10:56Speaker 1: like listening to some of the songs and hearing Jay-Z
- 11:00Speaker 1: talk about them and reflect. And that should be interesting.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So I guess in a lot of ways, we should
- 11:08Speaker 1: have known he wasn't going to start dropping new music
- 11:12Speaker 1: before something like that comes out. So I don't know.
- 11:16Speaker 1: We'll stand by. Did you tune in? Did you sign
- 11:19Speaker 1: up to a website? You now want to delete your
- 11:22Speaker 1: account because Jay-Z was having a listening party and you
- 11:25Speaker 1: thought it was going to be new music and now
- 11:27Speaker 1: you just wasted your time. Leave your comments in the
- 11:30Speaker 1: comment section below. Next. Dr. Dre recently took a stance
- 11:38Speaker 1: on AI music. Dr. Dre, and this is coming from Variety.com. Dr.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Dre says the only people who see AI as a
- 11:50Speaker 1: threat are those who have trouble creating. Now, I saw
- 11:57Speaker 1: another quote because that one kind of stung. I was like, what?
- 12:03Speaker 1: He also went on to say, and I quote, I
- 12:05Speaker 1: had a discussion with a few people a few days ago.
- 12:09Speaker 1: They were against AI. And I'm like, OK, yeah. you
- 12:12Speaker 1: sound like the person that would have been against the
- 12:15Speaker 1: drum machine when it came out or synthesizers, right? It's
- 12:20Speaker 1: a new tool for creativity. Some people are afraid of
- 12:25Speaker 1: learning new things. First of all, amen to that. Amen
- 12:30Speaker 1: to that. Um, now what also happened to kind of like,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I guess double down on it in some ways, Mary J. Blige, uh,
- 12:39Speaker 1: put out some kind of promo that she was working
- 12:42Speaker 1: with an AI company on music and was kind of
- 12:44Speaker 1: taking a similar stance. I've talked about AI on this
- 12:49Speaker 1: podcast before it was fashionable. Got to pay attention. See
- 12:55Speaker 1: the third eye? No, but we knew this was going
- 13:00Speaker 1: to happen. But here's the difference between what Dre is
- 13:04Speaker 1: saying and what Timbaland was trying to do. Timberland is
- 13:08Speaker 1: literally trying to create an artificial, intelligent artist off of
- 13:16Speaker 1: commands and put them out. There's something fishy about that
- 13:22Speaker 1: because when it comes to music, not something fishy, it is.
- 13:26Speaker 1: When it comes to music and why we like it,
- 13:29Speaker 1: especially if you're a music fan, not just a fan
- 13:32Speaker 1: of an artist or a fan of a specific genre,
- 13:34Speaker 1: but if you're a music fan, you know The reason
- 13:38Speaker 1: why you like music or like the artist you like
- 13:42Speaker 1: is not only just based off of sound. It's based
- 13:47Speaker 1: off of the experiences and what's relatable to you, right?
- 13:52Speaker 1: So whether an artist talks about the song and why
- 13:56Speaker 1: they wrote it or they're a rapper and they express
- 14:00Speaker 1: themselves in such a way that you connect, the connection
- 14:05Speaker 1: is is why we're music fans. It's the connection to
- 14:09Speaker 1: the music. Anything can make you bop or tap your feet,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but it's an emotional connection to either the lyrics or
- 14:18Speaker 1: the performance or whatever it may be. You can't get
- 14:22Speaker 1: that with artificial intelligence because you can't look at an
- 14:29Speaker 1: artificial AI performer and say, man, they're just like me.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's artificial. They're just drawn from a bunch of experiences.
- 14:41Speaker 1: There's no true emotion because there's no soul, okay? But
- 14:48Speaker 1: what Dre is saying is totally different, and it's something
- 14:51Speaker 1: that I agree with, like with AI within my industry.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It is a tool. It's not a tool to create
- 15:02Speaker 1: something out of thin air that used to be a person.
- 15:07Speaker 1: I'll give you my example. I use AI to save
- 15:12Speaker 1: myself time in production. There are tedious tasks that would
- 15:20Speaker 1: take you more than the length of the thing you're
- 15:24Speaker 1: working on to fix or clean up or complete or
- 15:29Speaker 1: whatever it was. I'm not talking about the whole project.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'm talking about just noise reduction, stuff like that. But now,
- 15:40Speaker 1: and even though you still have to check it, you
- 15:42Speaker 1: can do that with AI quick too. Hey, reduce the
- 15:49Speaker 1: background noise on this. It's less than a minute, might
- 15:53Speaker 1: be less than 30 seconds. And now this, all your
- 15:57Speaker 1: audio has all the background noise taken out. So then
- 16:03Speaker 1: you can start on the creative side of things. And
- 16:08Speaker 1: I think that's the thing, right? Some people don't understand.
- 16:12Speaker 1: They just hear AI and they know it's negative. So
- 16:14Speaker 1: they're like, oh, you use AI slop? And it's like,
- 16:19Speaker 1: the creative part is all human. Like this podcast, right?
- 16:23Speaker 1: You look at my intro. Clearly, AI is a warping
- 16:27Speaker 1: art situation. I put it in that command to have
- 16:31Speaker 1: it do that. As a representation of this is a
- 16:36Speaker 1: variety show. It's not just me on the cover in
- 16:40Speaker 1: Hip Hop Now podcast. It's for everybody and everything hip hop.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That was the science behind my video intro. But when
- 16:51Speaker 1: you get into the show, it's me. It's a human. Now,
- 16:57Speaker 1: I could have AI do a whole episode. Do y'all
- 17:01Speaker 1: want me to do that? I could have AI create
- 17:05Speaker 1: a whole episode of this podcast and just give it
- 17:10Speaker 1: a topic and my points of views of typing all
- 17:13Speaker 1: that stuff, my points of view on this stuff and
- 17:15Speaker 1: all of that, and use my channel as a reference
- 17:20Speaker 1: for how it should look. AI is getting so good,
- 17:24Speaker 1: one day you won't be able to tell whether I
- 17:26Speaker 1: did it or not. And you know what's worse than that?
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm going to let you on a secret. I already
- 17:35Speaker 1: did it once. And nobody said a word. Now it
- 17:41Speaker 1: was a test. But at the end of the day,
- 17:46Speaker 1: that's what Dre is kind of getting at. That he
- 17:50Speaker 1: sees where AI can assist him in things he does.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Things that maybe... to the point of the detractors, like, well,
- 18:03Speaker 1: why don't you just be a human and figure it out?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Why you got to get AI to figure that out?
- 18:11Speaker 1: It's like having a co-producer, right? You don't really lose
- 18:16Speaker 1: any of the integrity within the music or whatever. Well,
- 18:20Speaker 1: don't have AI writing your rhymes. Then I got a problem. Okay,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm being a hypocrite, but because again, when
- 18:28Speaker 1: it's artists, There's a connection. But musically, Dr. Dre has
- 18:32Speaker 1: always been a maestro. So it doesn't matter if he's
- 18:34Speaker 1: telling AI to do something or he's telling Daz to
- 18:38Speaker 1: do something or whoever. He's doing the same thing. He
- 18:43Speaker 1: just has a tool that makes it a little bit easier,
- 18:47Speaker 1: quicker to get small things done. But he's still the
- 18:51Speaker 1: maestro behind the music. So I get the fears of
- 18:58Speaker 1: people who enjoy music and don't want to listen to
- 19:01Speaker 1: something that wasn't created by a human. And I'm just
- 19:05Speaker 1: going to assume that Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, who
- 19:10Speaker 1: also doubled down, that they understand because they come from
- 19:16Speaker 1: that history of creating music organically, that they can see
- 19:22Speaker 1: where AI can assist Now, does that, and this is
- 19:29Speaker 1: for you, Dr. Dre, does that mean you're going to
- 19:33Speaker 1: get AI to work on detox and put that out?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Probably not. But there's a specific sound that we just
- 19:42Speaker 1: don't want to hear. And honestly, I think at this
- 19:45Speaker 1: point in time, Dre would have to be, really transparent
- 19:53Speaker 1: about how he used AI if he's going to like
- 19:57Speaker 1: release new music and he's used AI he's going to
- 20:01Speaker 1: have to be transparent about it because if he's not
- 20:04Speaker 1: doing what I'm saying like and what he's saying if
- 20:07Speaker 1: he's not using it as a tool to bring us
- 20:10Speaker 1: a better sound, quality-wise at least, and that's my assumption
- 20:14Speaker 1: of how he would use it, he can't tell us like, oh,
- 20:18Speaker 1: that rapper from Compton, man, that's AI. Then it's like, dog,
- 20:23Speaker 1: what you done? Next. So as we end the summer months,
- 20:33Speaker 1: and if you've been following this podcast, even if you're new,
- 20:37Speaker 1: each month I've highlighted albums, projects, EPs, mixtapes, whatever you
- 20:42Speaker 1: want to call them, that are the best of the month.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And part of the reason why I adopted this strategy
- 20:49Speaker 1: was because, one, I wanted an easy way for me
- 20:54Speaker 1: to track some of the best albums of the month
- 20:57Speaker 1: because it's easy to forget something good or great that
- 21:01Speaker 1: came out in January when you're trying to make a
- 21:04Speaker 1: list in December. So that was one way. But also,
- 21:07Speaker 1: it was also a way to engage with you, the
- 21:11Speaker 1: listener and the viewer, to let you know. If you
- 21:15Speaker 1: don't have the time to go and look to see
- 21:17Speaker 1: what's new and social media is saying everything is hot
- 21:21Speaker 1: and there's a million hip-hop albums dropping every week, man,
- 21:26Speaker 1: some people just groan. They're like, man, what is the best? Well,
- 21:30Speaker 1: here you have right now. Here are the best albums, projects, mixtapes, EPs, whatever,
- 21:38Speaker 1: of August 2026. And some bangers here. Starting right at
- 21:45Speaker 1: the tis out is No Order, by the way. Ransom,
- 21:50Speaker 1: The Price of Clarity, originally released on a website where,
- 21:55Speaker 1: I guess, true fans signed up for and paid and
- 22:00Speaker 1: all that good stuff. I didn't do it because, I mean,
- 22:03Speaker 1: can we just pick one site I don't want to
- 22:05Speaker 1: have a million profiles everywhere just to get the music
- 22:08Speaker 1: of my favorite artists. But nevertheless, finally came to digital
- 22:14Speaker 1: streaming platforms. And when it comes to Ransom, the bars
- 22:20Speaker 1: will always be there. The concepts will always be there.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Sometimes the beats can be hit or miss, but not
- 22:27Speaker 1: all the time. And Price of Clarity is worth your time.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It's like premium rapping. The same way we talk about
- 22:36Speaker 1: like clips albums and all of that. Like, nah, this
- 22:40Speaker 1: is like gentlemen's rap, right? Like it's either limousine liquor, right?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Like you don't care if you spilled a whole bottle, whatever.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Or like liquor to mix drinks. You know, you don't care.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You put a bunch of soda in there or juice
- 22:58Speaker 1: or whatever. And then there's only the drinks. The premium
- 23:04Speaker 1: drinks that you have and you have them neat. No ice,
- 23:07Speaker 1: no soda, no juice. Nothing because this is good and
- 23:12Speaker 1: you know how it was aged and all that good stuff.
- 23:15Speaker 1: That's how Price of Clarity sounds to me. Like a
- 23:18Speaker 1: man that was working on something premium. I took too long. Next. Rhapsody,
- 23:28Speaker 1: God Got an Afro and Golden Hoops. Rhapsody's last album,
- 23:33Speaker 1: which I forget the name, sorry, was cool. And it
- 23:37Speaker 1: was a very personal album, but I'm not going to lie.
- 23:40Speaker 1: When I listened to it, I was just sad. And
- 23:42Speaker 1: I was like, I don't like this feeling. Well, Rhapsody
- 23:46Speaker 1: is back with an album that, in my opinion, rivals
- 23:53Speaker 1: one of her albums that I think is a classic, Eve.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And it's because of the concept, the beats. The ranges
- 24:03Speaker 1: and flows, the rollout, the guest features. It's a really
- 24:09Speaker 1: dope album. If you like Rhapsody, why are you here?
- 24:13Speaker 1: You should be listening. If you don't, you might not
- 24:16Speaker 1: like this, but I think it's worth checking out at least.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Busta Rhymes and J Dilla Diligence 2. I ain't even
- 24:25Speaker 1: going to hold y'all. This might be in my top
- 24:28Speaker 1: five at the end of the year. I don't like
- 24:34Speaker 1: coke rap Busta, even though he got a coke drug
- 24:38Speaker 1: rap song on here, but even on here, it's hot.
- 24:42Speaker 1: And I don't even like when he does that. It's
- 24:45Speaker 1: just such a dope project that you hear Busta in
- 24:51Speaker 1: his original form, right? Not that he doesn't rap this way,
- 24:55Speaker 1: but he's Busta. He's flow. The right words are being said.
- 25:01Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It's It's not a bunch
- 25:04Speaker 1: of antics for antics sake. This is the buster we know.
- 25:09Speaker 1: And over J Dilla beats, this is the only type
- 25:14Speaker 1: of stuff he should do. Besides the other people who
- 25:16Speaker 1: he's collaborated with, where they make great music together, other producers.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I mean, it's the same thing with this. And J
- 25:25Speaker 1: Dilla is just such a variety of beats. It's so
- 25:28Speaker 1: refreshing to hear. Jay Dilla's production in a world where
- 25:34Speaker 1: a lot of the production tends to sound the same.
- 25:38Speaker 1: And you got Busta in pocket and the features on
- 25:41Speaker 1: here are crazy. Ludacris. Ludacris went ludacris on this album.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Very dope album. One of the best of the year.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Fat Joe. Organized rhyme. Honestly, I heard Aroma. featuring Jadakiss
- 26:02Speaker 1: and Stove Guard Cooks. And I was like, this song
- 26:05Speaker 1: is fire. But I wasn't anticipating any album. And I
- 26:10Speaker 1: didn't remember Fat Joe saying he had an album until
- 26:12Speaker 1: it was about to drop. And I said, well, it
- 26:17Speaker 1: seems to be a short album. Let me just check
- 26:19Speaker 1: it out. I didn't skip not one time. I didn't
- 26:24Speaker 1: believe I was liking it as much as I thought
- 26:26Speaker 1: I was. I was like, you ain't like the Fat
- 26:28Speaker 1: Joe album like that. since the first Jose, right? Like
- 26:35Speaker 1: I've liked albums, don't get me wrong, Don Carter, Gina
- 26:37Speaker 1: and all that, but I'm talking about like listening and
- 26:41Speaker 1: having a certain level of excitement because everything you're listening
- 26:46Speaker 1: to is connecting with you from an entertainment standpoint, from
- 26:51Speaker 1: a bar, he's not a bar guy, but even from
- 26:54Speaker 1: that standpoint. And then again, features that performed, right? Stove
- 27:01Speaker 1: God is here twice. Jadakiss, you already know the verse
- 27:04Speaker 1: was crazy on Aroma, and then he's on another joint.
- 27:09Speaker 1: What's the other one? I'm getting somebody. Oh, Pusha T. Crazy.
- 27:17Speaker 1: The album's only like 36 minutes, even though you may
- 27:20Speaker 1: open it up and be like, oh, it's 12 songs.
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's like 36 minutes. It's not that long of an album. Concept, cover,
- 27:28Speaker 1: Song titles, features, everything here is right. Will it be
- 27:33Speaker 1: in my top five of the year? I don't know.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It depends on what else drops, but it's definitely one
- 27:39Speaker 1: of the best of the year. Number one? Nah. Top five? Maybe.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But we'll see what happens. And lastly, an album that
- 27:50Speaker 1: I was a little late getting to, but I remember.
- 27:55Speaker 1: The first time I heard these two together, I was like, man,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I like this project. And this is, I guess, a
- 28:03Speaker 1: sequel because it's called Two. Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I didn't skip this one. This one's in my best
- 28:12Speaker 1: of the year. It has to be there. Why? For
- 28:16Speaker 1: a lot of the same reasons I mentioned Busta. Production-wise, lyrically-wise,
- 28:25Speaker 1: You could hear the synergy between a rapper and the producer.
- 28:31Speaker 1: And that's what this album sounds like. It's just good hip-hop.
- 28:37Speaker 1: You don't press play and say, oh, this sounds like
- 28:40Speaker 1: Benny and them. It doesn't. Oh, this sounds like Busta Album.
- 28:45Speaker 1: It doesn't. It sounds like Rapsody. It doesn't. It just
- 28:49Speaker 1: sounds like hip-hop from dudes who are doing hip-hop in
- 28:52Speaker 1: a different way. I mean, it's good music, man. Now,
- 28:59Speaker 1: at one point I was like, is 2026 slow with
- 29:01Speaker 1: hip hop? But I think we're heating up now. I
- 29:05Speaker 1: think we're heating up. So if Jay-Z, if you would
- 29:07Speaker 1: like to drop an album, you know, just make sure.
- 29:11Speaker 1: It's right because there's been some dope projects this year
- 29:14Speaker 1: and not a lot of room in a top five
- 29:18Speaker 1: or a top 10. So what do you think? What
- 29:21Speaker 1: are you listening to? What are some of the albums
- 29:23Speaker 1: you like? Did you like The Busta and Dilla? diligence
