• 2:43
Speaker 3: is there for their annual Pumpkin drop. Oh Steven, good
• 2:46
Speaker 3: morning and welcome to the show.
• 2:48
Speaker 5: Good morning, Hold on as Cedar you Christian Academy Drop
• 2:51
Speaker 5: one is good, good morning day. You know what good
• 2:58
Speaker 5: I'm good. I'm in the process of judging pumpkins dropping pumpkins.
• 3:03
Speaker 5: We have the linemen from ABT and Verizon here in
• 3:07
Speaker 5: Frontier and we have over fifty volunteers, over one hundred
• 3:11
Speaker 5: drops today are going to happen with over thirty different schools.
• 3:15
Speaker 3: So now explain exactly what is this pumpkin drop this
• 3:18
Speaker 3: has gone on for several years, and explain exactly what
• 3:22
Speaker 3: happens here other than just watching pumpkins attempt to defy gravity.
• 3:27
Speaker 5: Well, it's part of the STEM program. Hold on and
• 3:29
Speaker 5: we have going up in the air as Charleston Nature
• 3:32
Speaker 5: School Drop one. So they have been in science class
• 3:36
Speaker 5: STEM class and they're using sustainable products, you know, stuff
• 3:40
Speaker 5: we would normally throw away and using recycled items that
• 3:46
Speaker 5: to help protect the pumpkins conceivably on its drop from
• 3:50
Speaker 5: fifty feet in the air, which is you don't think
• 3:53
Speaker 5: is very high, but once the velocity of this thing drops,
• 3:56
Speaker 5: depending on the weights, it makes a very loud uh uh.
• 4:01
Speaker 5: And it's a great event because the kids they're in
• 4:03
Speaker 5: competition with each other with the other schools, and there's
• 4:06
Speaker 5: trophies to be had and some cash prizes and things
• 4:10
Speaker 5: like that for incentives to help pay for what they're doing.
• 4:13
Speaker 5: But it's also a great learning experience.
• 4:15
Speaker 3: So basically, here's the way I understand this thing. And
• 4:18
Speaker 3: I had you on the you've MCD this thing for
• 4:20
Speaker 3: how many years? A lot of years?
• 4:21
  Speaker 6: Right?
• 4:22
Speaker 5: Uh? Eight maybe eight years?
• 4:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, And of course, so basically what they ask these
• 4:28
Speaker 3: these students to do is, as you said, they drop pumpkins. Uh,
• 4:34
Speaker 3: but they they're asked to build something that is supposed
• 4:36
Speaker 3: to protect the pumpkins from being obliterated. Is that is
• 4:40
Speaker 3: that a fair assessment?
• 4:43
Speaker 5: Yes? Exactly. So what they are I mean, they could
• 4:46
Speaker 5: use a box like people have used coolers. You know,
• 4:50
Speaker 5: it could be toads. I've seen h some building products
• 4:53
Speaker 5: from loads like uh like some are wrapped in duct tape,
• 4:58
Speaker 5: some are wrapped in twat. So really a creative process
• 5:02
Speaker 5: here what they do to make this day a fun event.
• 5:06
Speaker 5: And like I've got a couple more pumpkins going up
• 5:09
Speaker 5: in the air right now, which is awesome.
• 5:11
Speaker 3: And I do want to mention doctor Casey Sacksonbridge Valley,
• 5:13
Speaker 3: the president of that their fine institution. It's going to talk.
• 5:17
Speaker 3: We're gonna talk to her later today on Metro News
• 5:19
Speaker 3: midday and again she'll be on a local show tomorrow.
• 5:21
Speaker 3: Sounds like a good time. How many kids approximately are there?
• 5:24
Speaker 3: Just give me a ballpark or how many schools or
• 5:26
Speaker 3: however you want to quantify it, I would say.
• 5:29
Speaker 5: Right now I am looking at close to two hundred
• 5:32
Speaker 5: and fifty kids, close to three hundred. We're still waiting
• 5:35
Speaker 5: on quite a few more buses to get here. So
• 5:38
Speaker 5: it's going to be awesome. Hold on one second, you
• 5:40
Speaker 5: guys ready to drop it. Let's come down with me.
• 5:44
Speaker 5: Let's do this. Three two? What drop them? That was
• 5:55
Speaker 5: the fun? Oh that one hit pretty hard? Guys, you
• 5:58
Speaker 5: think it'd be all right? What you got? All right?
• 6:04
Speaker 5: You go, Steam team? I like it. I like it.
• 6:06
Speaker 5: But yeah, here today, this is awesome.
• 6:09
Speaker 3: I have I have entered another realm, I think this morning.
• 6:12
Speaker 3: I mean I checked in with you last year, but
• 6:14
Speaker 3: I don't know. We actually had pumpkins dropping last year.
• 6:17
Speaker 3: So shades of the Turkey drop on w k RP
• 6:20
Speaker 3: in Cincinnati right now. But it's pumpkins right.
• 6:23
Speaker 5: Yes, very much, very much though so different schools from
• 6:26
Speaker 5: all over the state. Right now, I'm looking at Cedar
• 6:29
Speaker 5: View Christian Academy three. They have a couple of drops
• 6:32
Speaker 5: here and then coming up on deck right now, I'm
• 6:35
Speaker 5: running over here to see who we have here. We
• 6:39
Speaker 5: have Charleston Nature School, They've got a drop here and
• 6:42
Speaker 5: then they have a couple of drops. So Hayes Middle
• 6:46
Speaker 5: School has already dropped. We do have some pumpkins on
• 6:50
Speaker 5: the table that have survived, like New River they've got
• 6:54
Speaker 5: a few in their Hayes Middle they've got their East
• 6:56
Speaker 5: Fairmont survived. So yeah, it's and it's just getting underway.
• 7:01
Speaker 3: So well, how how soon until we have another drop?
• 7:04
Speaker 3: Because that was good radio right here? I want to
• 7:06
Speaker 3: do this again? How soon?
• 7:08
Speaker 5: Coming up in just a minute like the Linemen, and
• 7:11
Speaker 5: they have alignment school here at Bridge Valley, so it's
• 7:14
Speaker 5: part of the training you can actually you know they're
• 7:17
Speaker 5: looking for people to do this. You know a lot
• 7:19
Speaker 5: of these older guys are you know, aging out. They
• 7:22
Speaker 5: need new people to come to the table and their
• 7:25
Speaker 5: program in conjunction with Frontier and ap uh. You know,
• 7:29
Speaker 5: there's there's fifty guys here that are in this program.
• 7:33
Speaker 5: They're all wearing safety vests here and this is what
• 7:36
Speaker 5: they're going to be doing somedays. So you know, with
• 7:38
Speaker 5: all the power outages and whether we have around here,
• 7:41
Speaker 5: it's so you know, it's needed for sure.
• 7:44
Speaker 3: So absolutely are we getting ready for another one?
• 7:48
Speaker 5: Yeah, Charleston Nature one unfortunately is a splat.
• 7:54
Speaker 3: Oh No, we had a splat there.
• 7:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, we had a splat all that. We're on boxing.
• 8:01
Speaker 3: One more okay, all right, one more, we'll do one
• 8:03
  Speaker 3: more live and.
• 8:04
Speaker 5: We'll let you Yeah, hold on, we're under wrapping this.
• 8:08
Speaker 5: And unfortunately the other one too, use a flat slat
• 8:15
Speaker 5: all right, back to the drawing board. Yeah, so when
• 8:18
Speaker 5: it's flats, you know, it gets uh, you know, tossed,
• 8:22
Speaker 5: so to speak. So they're raising a couple more right now.
• 8:26
Speaker 5: They're on their way up. But yeah, this is really
• 8:28
Speaker 5: a neat program. Uh, like I said, all sorts of sponsors,
• 8:31
Speaker 5: including TC Energy, Toyota. Our other sponsors include US Methanol,
• 8:37
Speaker 5: a CNS Incorporated, ZMM Architects, Innsmore, Charleston Blueprint, like I said,
• 8:42
Speaker 5: at the City of Charleston, East Coast Teeth, and of
• 8:45
Speaker 5: course the ballpark. So it's uh, it's just a great day,
• 8:50
Speaker 5: great community effort of everybody coming out for this, a
• 8:53
Speaker 5: lot of fun, all them up in the air. Guys.
• 8:57
Speaker 3: Now, I said, now, now is this actually bridgeval Is
• 9:00
Speaker 3: it at the ballpark?
• 9:01
Speaker 5: This is at the ball Okay, okay.
• 9:03
Speaker 3: All right, I said that you were a bridge Valley.
• 9:05
  Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm.
• 9:05
Speaker 5: Sure School two and three going up in the air.
• 9:08
Speaker 3: All right, here we go. Let's let's do one more.
• 9:10
Speaker 3: I'm addicted to this.
• 9:11
Speaker 5: Now call it Steve, call it well, they're hauling it
• 9:14
Speaker 5: up right now. Can you ask for a moment?
• 9:17
Speaker 3: Can you give me one of those oh my god,
• 9:20
Speaker 3: the humanity type things? Can you do that?
• 9:23
Speaker 5: Yeah? I'm sure, I want to sure I will be
• 9:26
  Speaker 5: able to do.
• 9:26
Speaker 3: I want to Hindenburg. I want a Hindenburg type announcement.
• 9:30
Speaker 5: Here, Stave, Are you sure well?
• 9:35
Speaker 3: I mean, we are running delay on you because you're
• 9:37
Speaker 3: Steve Animal, So just so.
• 9:38
Speaker 5: You know, and I got to tell you, I have
• 9:41
Speaker 5: a one hundred people here, one hundred kids here from
• 9:43
Speaker 5: the Mountaineer Challenge Academy. They've got some submissions and some
• 9:47
Speaker 5: of theirs have passed through, so it's really just a
• 9:49
Speaker 5: cool day. The last fox that went down actually had
• 9:52
Speaker 5: a pizza fox at the bottom. That pizza is obviously flat.
• 9:56
Speaker 5: So hold on, let's do this again. You guys ready
• 9:58
Speaker 5: for the next drive, but come down with me and three.
• 10:04
Speaker 5: I know you're hype ready kind of with me. Three? Two?
• 10:08
Speaker 5: Why drop them? The humanity? Humanity?
• 10:18
Speaker 3: This one's gonna win a Marconi Award. I can tell
• 10:20
Speaker 3: you that right now? All right, Steve, you better get
• 10:23
Speaker 3: back to it. But we had a question here. Somebody wondered,
• 10:26
Speaker 3: you know, what happens to the pumpkins afterwards? Do anybody know?
• 10:29
Speaker 5: So the pumpkins that obviously haven't splatted all over the
• 10:33
Speaker 5: place get to go home with their rightful owners if
• 10:36
Speaker 5: they do want to take most of them and go
• 10:38
Speaker 5: home with the kids that have put them together. So
• 10:42
Speaker 5: right now, what's happening after the drop is they're cutting
• 10:45
Speaker 5: through the boxes. So right now, hold on which one
• 10:48
Speaker 5: is this? All right? So all right, Charleston, I'm sorry.
• 10:58
Speaker 5: All right, we're going into another box.
• 11:00
Speaker 3: So okay, we'll let you get back to it there.
• 11:02
Speaker 3: Somebody was suggesting that maybe they could take the leftover
• 11:05
Speaker 3: pumpkin if heeded to animals or something. I don't know
• 11:07
  Speaker 3: whether that's I'm.
• 11:09
Speaker 5: Not sure what they're doing with the backside of stuff.
• 11:12
Speaker 5: I know the city of Charleston is helping with the
• 11:14
Speaker 5: wayst side of things. Okay, you know they're bothered them
• 11:17
Speaker 5: up to come down and find.
• 11:18
Speaker 3: Out all going on over the ballpark. All right, yeah,
• 11:21
Speaker 3: all right, Steve, I'll let you get back to it there. Now,
• 11:24
Speaker 3: are you dressed in you have like goggles and stuff
• 11:27
Speaker 3: and like protective headwear and things of that nature.
• 11:30
Speaker 5: Now the lineman, I'll do okay, not you, I am
• 11:34
Speaker 5: open game. Well, well I'm running like Daffy Duck out
• 11:38
Speaker 5: of Funny Humber Fudd shooting ring. Well.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: They figure that if you've survived as long as you
• 11:44
Speaker 3: have living the lifestyle that you have as a rock
• 11:46
Speaker 3: and roll disc jockey, you can pretty much you can
• 11:48
Speaker 3: pretty much survive anything.
• 11:50
Speaker 5: Uh. And I have a right like this one Stone
• 11:54
  Speaker 5: Henge Academy.
• 11:55
Speaker 3: Is Stonehenge Academy, Ryan Style and Cooper Hawk.
• 12:00
Speaker 5: So all these little schools around the region coming in.
• 12:03
  Speaker 5: That's really awesome.
• 12:04
Speaker 3: So all right, and what times it all wrap up today? Approximately?
• 12:07
  Speaker 5: Probably around around.
• 12:09
Speaker 3: There, okay, And we're going to have doctor Casey Sachs
• 12:11
Speaker 3: on Metro News midday later today. All right, Steve, get
• 12:14
Speaker 3: back to it man. Uh and uh And And as
• 12:17
Speaker 3: David Letterman would say, as always, no wagering, no wa dreaming, no.
• 12:21
Speaker 5: Wag dering, no not at all. Day brother, thank you
• 12:25
  Speaker 5: very much.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: I cannot think of a better person to be out
• 12:29
Speaker 3: there as they're dropping pumpkins at Goimart Ballpark right now
• 12:32
Speaker 3: than that, Steve Animal I do want to mention that
• 12:35
Speaker 3: Steve is going to be live once he gets all
• 12:38
Speaker 3: the pumpkins juice off of him. He's going to be

Speaker 3: the Taylor Text three zero four nine three five five
• 15:38
Speaker 3: zero zero eight, Texas. Do you have any idea how
• 15:40
Speaker 3: many charter schools there are locally and in the state.
• 15:42
Speaker 3: It seems a bunch of them. We're dropping pumpkins by
• 15:45
Speaker 3: the names mentioned. I do not, but I got a
• 15:47
Speaker 3: Google machine here so well, so if you can get
• 15:49
Speaker 3: an answer for that a little bit later on, maybe
• 15:52
Speaker 3: Ryan could look that up. How many charter schools are
• 15:55
Speaker 3: there in the state. Just if you'd look, if you could,
• 15:57
Speaker 3: if you could use your Google machine, I'd appreciate it,
• 15:59
Speaker 3: because I'm amply can't do two things at once. Tex
• 16:03
Speaker 3: says a world champion pumpkin this year two thousand, three
• 16:06
Speaker 3: hundred and forty six pounds this year from California. Six
• 16:11
Speaker 3: charter schools. Ryan tails me, Thank you, Ryan, Ryan. Senior
• 16:13
Speaker 3: producer Ryan Nicholson. There are six charter schools in the
• 16:15
Speaker 3: state of West Virginia, according to senior producer Ryan and Nicholson.
• 16:19
Speaker 3: So yeah, three hundred and forty six pounds. That's a
• 16:22
Speaker 3: big old that's a big old pumpkin. Happening this Saturday
• 16:24
Speaker 3: downtown Charles to the annual Capitol Cocktail Classic of fundraiser
• 16:27
Speaker 3: for Fun for the Arts forty seven. Talking about it now,
• 16:30
Speaker 3: Sarah Wright, the executive director of Fund for the Arts,
• 16:32
Speaker 3: Good morning walking to the show.
• 16:33
Speaker 8: Good morning, Dave, thank you for having me on.
• 16:35
Speaker 3: I'm sorry you had to follow up Steve Animal. You know,
• 16:38
Speaker 3: katsup pulling pumpkins from not from the top of but
• 16:42
  Speaker 3: actually they're a Bridge val I mean they're not at
• 16:44
Speaker 3: Bridge Valley. And why keep saying they're at the ballpark?
• 16:46
Speaker 3: Go Mark Ballpark, right, sponsor by Bridge Valley.
• 16:48
Speaker 8: Well, I mean, how do you follow up and act
• 16:50
Speaker 8: like that? I guess a good way to bridge the
• 16:52
Speaker 8: gap is through cocktails and.
• 16:54
Speaker 3: Food, right, yeah, yeah, Because when you think Steve Animal,
• 16:56
Speaker 3: you think that's the dang short years. Is this a
• 17:00
Speaker 3: particular events been going on?
• 17:02
Speaker 8: So this is our sixth year, six year.
• 17:04
  Speaker 3: I thought he'd been a few years. So I've talked
• 17:05
Speaker 3: about it in the past. Before we talk about what's
• 17:07
Speaker 3: going to happen on Saturday, I want to talk about
• 17:09
Speaker 3: Fun for the Arts. What exactly is Fun for the Arts?
• 17:11
Speaker 8: So Fun for the Arts we are a local nonprofit
• 17:14
Speaker 8: and Our sole drive is to raise money for eleven
• 17:17
Speaker 8: local arts groups, and those arts groups vary in.
• 17:20
  Speaker 4: What they do.
• 17:21
Speaker 8: We have Children's Theater, West Virginia Youth Symphony, Friends of
• 17:24
Speaker 8: Old Time Music and Dance. So we really exist to
• 17:27
Speaker 8: raise money for those groups so they can go out
• 17:30
Speaker 8: and put on the best programming possible for the citizens
• 17:33
  Speaker 8: of our valley.
• 17:33
Speaker 3: All right, so what's going to happen on Saturday here
• 17:36
Speaker 3: in this Capitol Cocktail Classic? How does it work? Break
• 17:38
Speaker 3: it all down for us?
• 17:39
Speaker 8: Yeah, so this is a super fun event. So picture
• 17:42
Speaker 8: like upscale pub crawl, but with cocktails and appetizers, and
• 17:47
Speaker 8: you get to vote for your favorite at the end
• 17:49
Speaker 8: of the night. And we have some of Charleston's best
• 17:52
Speaker 8: downtown bars and restaurants participating in this, and so patrons
• 17:56
Speaker 8: are able to go from venue to venue, sample a
• 17:59
Speaker 8: six at your cocktail and appetizer, and then they vote
• 18:03
Speaker 8: for their favorite at the end.
• 18:04
  Speaker 9: Of the night.
• 18:04
Speaker 3: And all sorts of four o'clock Downtown. Give us some
• 18:06
Speaker 3: of the places that are taking part.
• 18:08
Speaker 8: Yeah, so it's Five Street Brewing, Sam's Uptown Cafe, Haggie's
• 18:13
Speaker 8: are Irish Pie Pub, and the Voltstead Room. So we
• 18:17
Speaker 8: have a fantastic lineup. Some of those places maybe some
• 18:20
Speaker 8: Charlestonians haven't been in before, so it's a really great
• 18:22
Speaker 8: opportunity to get out and walk around the city and
• 18:25
Speaker 8: have a great night.
• 18:26
Speaker 3: But some of those are relatively new, I mean the
• 18:29
Speaker 3: the Irish Pub being one of those. I mean by new,
• 18:31
Speaker 3: I mean over the last couple of years, and they're
• 18:32
Speaker 3: relatively new. Yeah, this is their first time, their first
• 18:35
Speaker 3: year taking part of it, yep.
• 18:36
Speaker 8: Yeah, and they're super excited to be on. And I
• 18:38
Speaker 8: tell you, these places do a fantastic job with their pairings.
• 18:41
Speaker 8: They take great pride in what they're serving, their cocktails
• 18:44
Speaker 8: and their appetizers. Like I've sampled all of them.
• 18:48
Speaker 3: And well, somebody's got to do it.
• 18:49
Speaker 8: I mean, somebody's got to do the hard work. I mean,
• 18:51
Speaker 8: you know, pave the way. And let me tell you,
• 18:54
Speaker 8: they've all knocked it out of the park. People are
• 18:56
Speaker 8: going to have a hard time deciding because they're bringing it.
• 18:58
Speaker 3: Can you give us some example of some of the
• 19:00
Speaker 3: things are going to be serving. Do you have that yet?
• 19:02
  Speaker 4: Yeah?
• 19:02
Speaker 8: Of course. So so, like you mentioned Haggie, so their
• 19:06
Speaker 8: first year participating, they're going to do like a a
• 19:10
Speaker 8: pair cocktail and it's paired with a Reuben pasty and
• 19:16
Speaker 8: it is so good. The full Stead Room also their
• 19:20
Speaker 8: first year, they are doing a like a pershudo ricotta appetizer.
• 19:27
Speaker 3: You could stop right there.
• 19:28
Speaker 8: Yeah, it's fantastic, so so good.
• 19:33
Speaker 3: It sounds good. And what about some of the other
• 19:35
Speaker 3: cocktails that we have.
• 19:36
Speaker 8: Yeah, so we have a Kalamoto, which is one of
• 19:40
Speaker 8: apparently one of Lady Gaga's favorite drinks. That's Sam's is
• 19:43
Speaker 8: doing that and it's like wine with cola.
• 19:46
Speaker 3: It's very do you know, oddly enough, I don't know
• 19:48
Speaker 3: the first thing about Lady Gogad, but I did. I
• 19:50
Speaker 3: did read an article about that not long ago about
• 19:54
Speaker 3: about that, and it seems to me that that is
• 19:57
Speaker 3: a very odd pairing wine and cola. But but I
• 20:00
  Speaker 3: think I don't. I think I think it was in
• 20:02
Speaker 3: the Wall Street Journal they were talking about these different
• 20:04
Speaker 3: cocktails and that they mentioned Lady god God by name,
• 20:07
Speaker 3: and it just kind of triggered that memory when you
• 20:08
Speaker 3: mentioned that. Seems to me like a very very wild
• 20:11
Speaker 3: pairing wine and cola.
• 20:13
Speaker 8: But you wouldn't think it would be good. But let
• 20:15
Speaker 8: me tell you, it is delicious and it pairs really
• 20:18
Speaker 8: well with the appetizer that they're serving, which is like
• 20:21
Speaker 8: a beef tenderloin medallion.
• 20:22
Speaker 3: So it's just like, so, what kind I'm just kind
• 20:25
Speaker 3: of curious about this? What kind of wine? And what
• 20:27
Speaker 3: kind of cola? I mean, do we have any idea
• 20:29
  Speaker 3: or like what?
• 20:30
  Speaker 10: What?
• 20:31
  Speaker 5: Now?
• 20:31
Speaker 8: You got me there? Well, well, we'd have to ask PG.
• 20:35
Speaker 3: Well, PG, if you're listening, you know, let us know.
• 20:37
Speaker 3: I'd like to know about that. And Ryan, if you
• 20:38
Speaker 3: can run out and get us some wine and some
• 20:40
Speaker 3: cold we're gonna try some of these on the air.
• 20:41
Speaker 8: Okay, exactly. You know, maybe we need to go through
• 20:44
Speaker 8: a couple of different pairings to see what works best.
• 20:46
Speaker 3: Well, it's going to be a long day for me,
• 20:48
Speaker 3: so I cann't have time. I can't do that right now.
• 20:51
Speaker 3: It is a little early, Yeah, it is. It is
• 20:52
Speaker 3: a little early. Although I was reading our talk a
• 20:57
Speaker 3: little shop here our sister station, one of our sisters,
• 21:00
Speaker 3: ninety six to one KWUS Robberyo posted something on social
• 21:02
Speaker 3: media about a phone call he had with a listener
• 21:05
Speaker 3: at eight o'clock this morning and said, if you call
• 21:06
Speaker 3: up at eight o'clock in the morning and you're already hammered,
• 21:09
Speaker 3: you know, there might be might be a bigger issue here. However,
• 21:12
Speaker 3: maybe they is somebody, maybe they work midnight to six.
• 21:14
Speaker 8: Maybe maybe one cannot assume, one cannot assume.
• 21:18
Speaker 3: All right, So again this this is what we're having
• 21:20
  Speaker 3: fun talking about.
• 21:21
  Speaker 11: This weather.
• 21:21
Speaker 3: By the way, it's going to be fantastic. I mean,
• 21:24
Speaker 3: it's actually gonna be summer like it's not. If you
• 21:26
Speaker 3: are hoping for the fall vibe on Saturday like it
• 21:29
Speaker 3: is now, you're not gonna have it because it's gonna
• 21:30
Speaker 3: be in the low to mid eighties. But it's it's
• 21:34
Speaker 3: gonna be good for strolling around downtown Charleston. Rain is
• 21:36
Speaker 3: expected to move in like late tonight or late Saturday night,
• 21:39
Speaker 3: in the over night hours. So the weather's gonna be great.
• 21:41
Speaker 8: Yeah, you know that rain that's gonna mess us.
• 21:43
Speaker 3: And oh yeah, I mean seriously, it's gonna be like
• 21:46
Speaker 3: seven eight hours later.
• 21:47
Speaker 8: Yes exactly. And you know, all these venues are walkable,
• 21:51
Speaker 8: so people don't have to worry about driving from place
• 21:54
Speaker 8: to place. They're all within walking distance of each other.
• 21:56
Speaker 3: And I'm assuming because we're hitting up these particular businesses
• 22:00
Speaker 3: that are taking in these bars and pubs that are
• 22:02
Speaker 3: taking part in this, but there's a lot of other
• 22:03
Speaker 3: businesses that will be open while this is going on,
• 22:06
Speaker 3: so it's a good time to come downtown exactly.
• 22:09
Speaker 8: Yeah, you can make a whole evening of it. Our
• 22:10
Speaker 8: event takes place from four to seven, and it's self paced,
• 22:13
Speaker 8: so people can go and really take their time. If
• 22:16
Speaker 8: you see a business you want to stop into in
• 22:18
Speaker 8: between our venues, you can.
• 22:20
Speaker 3: Now it's any kind of competition, I mean, like, does
• 22:22
Speaker 3: anybody anybody like name the best one?
• 22:24
Speaker 8: Or is it just all I mean, it's a competition.
• 22:26
Speaker 8: You vote for your favorite at the end.
• 22:28
  Speaker 5: Of the night.
• 22:28
Speaker 3: How does the vote?
• 22:29
  Speaker 5: Tell me?
• 22:29
Speaker 3: How the voting works.
• 22:30
Speaker 8: So everyone will receive a voting card when you enter
• 22:34
Speaker 8: the event, and you scan your QR code at the
• 22:36
Speaker 8: end of the night and you cast your vote for
• 22:38
Speaker 8: your favorite cocktail and your favorite appetizer. And you know
• 22:41
Speaker 8: that's part of the restaurants really do take it seriously.
• 22:44
Speaker 8: They want to win, and we actually have a really
• 22:46
  Speaker 8: cool trophy for.
• 22:47
Speaker 3: The best cocktail, and so do they like keep that
• 22:49
Speaker 3: on display for till like the next year. Do you
• 22:51
Speaker 3: remember off the top of your head, who may have
• 22:53
Speaker 3: done well in the past, who.
• 22:54
Speaker 8: Won this in the past, bar one oh one had
• 22:56
  Speaker 8: it last year.
• 22:57
Speaker 3: Okay, so unfortunately they're no longer with us.
• 22:59
  Speaker 8: I don't think, no they aren't. But I'll tell you
• 23:01
Speaker 8: the voting is always so close because everyone does such
• 23:04
  Speaker 8: a great job.
• 23:05
Speaker 3: And the voting is done by the people.
• 23:07
  Speaker 5: Ye.
• 23:08
Speaker 3: Right, so there's no celebrity judges or anything like that, right, No, No.
• 23:12
Speaker 8: It's the people. They get to speak talking.
• 23:14
Speaker 3: To them with Sarah right for Fun for the Arts,
• 23:16
Speaker 3: The annual Capital Cocktail Classic is happening this Saturday in
• 23:19
Speaker 3: downtown Charleston, but Dave Island showing five d lie Brought

• 23:41
Speaker 3: Generations Forward. See dealer for complete details. This is I mean,
• 23:44
Speaker 3: I'm really excited about this because, I mean because when
• 23:47
Speaker 3: you talk about the things that fund for the arts, do.
• 23:50
Speaker 3: And again you listen to me on air, you think, oh,
• 23:53
Speaker 3: this guy doesn't really know the first thing about art,
• 23:55
Speaker 3: you know, And I really don't, but I know what
• 23:57
Speaker 3: I like and I know that the more we can
• 23:59
Speaker 3: get people involved in things, especially young people, and get
• 24:02
Speaker 3: them to put down the devices and so on and
• 24:04
Speaker 3: so forth and take part in art, no matter what
• 24:06
Speaker 3: that art may be, it's a good thing exactly.
• 24:08
Speaker 8: I mean, it enriches our society. It really adds value
• 24:12
Speaker 8: to the quality of life here and that's something Fun
• 24:15
Speaker 8: for the Arts is really proud to participate in that
• 24:18
Speaker 8: on every level through our events and our member art
• 24:21
Speaker 8: groups events as well.
• 24:23
Speaker 3: I talk about that education aspect of it. I mean,
• 24:25
Speaker 3: like you said, trying to get younger people involved.
• 24:27
Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, and so many of our arts groups
• 24:29
Speaker 8: are working with younger populations like West Virginia Use Symphony,
• 24:33
Speaker 8: the Symphony Orchestra, Charlson Knight, Oppera Guild. I mean, these
• 24:36
Speaker 8: groups are on the ground interacting with young children, helping
• 24:41
Speaker 8: introduce that next generation to an enrichment of the arts
• 24:45
Speaker 8: and getting involved in the community at an early age.
• 24:48
Speaker 3: Now, if we have a business that's listening to us
• 24:51
Speaker 3: right now, that says, you know, I'd like to do
• 24:53
Speaker 3: something with it. Is it too late for like a
• 24:56
Speaker 3: bar pub to be involved in this?
• 24:58
Speaker 8: And just in case this year it would be however, somebody, Yeah,
• 25:02
Speaker 8: somebody could reach out to me for next year and
• 25:04
Speaker 8: somebody can find us on our Facebook page Fund for
• 25:07
Speaker 8: the Arts West Virginia or our website Fund for the
• 25:09
  Speaker 8: ARTSWV dot org.
• 25:11
Speaker 3: Any any idea and I don't want to put you
• 25:13
Speaker 3: on the spot here, but any idea. Maybe a ballpark
• 25:15
Speaker 3: figure of how many people took part in this last year,
• 25:17
Speaker 3: just just just a guess.
• 25:18
Speaker 8: It's about one hundred and fifty people take place in this.
• 25:21
Speaker 3: Ee and you do need to get your tickets.
• 25:22
Speaker 8: Yeah, you got to get your tickets. I mean we
• 25:24
Speaker 8: encourage people to get their tickets early because this many
• 25:27
Speaker 8: years this event does sell out because the restaurants they
• 25:31
Speaker 8: aren't I mean, these are small places, so we have
• 25:33
  Speaker 8: to look, they're.
• 25:34
Speaker 3: Open for business while this is going on too, and
• 25:36
Speaker 3: they've got folks that are in there dining and having
• 25:38
Speaker 3: a cocktail or two that may not even know what
• 25:40
Speaker 3: this is going on, so that they got to they
• 25:41
Speaker 3: got to take care of business as well.
• 25:42
Speaker 8: Yes, exactly. So there are a limited number of tickets,
• 25:45
Speaker 8: So we do encourage people, like, if you're listening and
• 25:47
Speaker 8: you're thinking, oh, I want to go to that, you
• 25:49
Speaker 8: should go ahead and get your tickets because we are
• 25:51
Speaker 8: starting to get close to where we're going.
• 25:53
Speaker 3: To have to So then let we'll say, within like
• 25:55
Speaker 3: probably the next twenty four hours, I mean more likely,
• 25:57
Speaker 3: it's probably gonna be sold out. Where can people learn more?
• 26:00
Speaker 3: Where you got social media? Facebook page? You got website?
• 26:02
  Speaker 3: Where you go?
• 26:03
  Speaker 9: Yep?
• 26:03
Speaker 8: So our Facebook page Fund for the Arts West Virginia
• 26:07
Speaker 8: and you can find our event right on there, or
• 26:09
Speaker 8: you can get on our website Fund for the ARTSWV
• 26:12
  Speaker 8: dot org.
• 26:12
Speaker 3: All right, again, let's recap it here four to seven
• 26:15
Speaker 3: downtown Charleston and it's the Capitol Cocktail Classic yep, this Saturday,
• 26:20
Speaker 3: This Saturday. And give us the restaurants again.
• 26:23
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 26:23
Speaker 8: So the restaurants are five Street Brewing, Sam's Uptown Cafe,
• 26:27
Speaker 8: Haggie's Irish Pie Pub, and the Volstudroom.
• 26:29
Speaker 3: All right, and again if you want to get your tickets,
• 26:31
Speaker 3: we're going to go ahead and say you probably should
• 26:34
Speaker 3: plan on doing that within the next twenty four hours,
• 26:36
Speaker 3: just for planning purposes.
• 26:37
Speaker 8: Yeah, and I will say, you know, our tickets are
• 26:40
Speaker 8: only sixty dollars and you're getting four cocktails and four appetizers.
• 26:44
  Speaker 8: Like that's a heck of a deal. Like you can't
• 26:47
  Speaker 8: do that.
• 26:48
Speaker 3: I mean, some of those things you talked about as
• 26:49
Speaker 3: far as the food goes sound like more more like
• 26:51
Speaker 3: meals and appetizers. Apparently somebody didn't get the memo.
• 26:54
Speaker 8: Hey, Hey, the restaurants, like I said, they're in it
• 26:57
  Speaker 8: to win it.
• 26:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, like they want it. And we have, I mean,
• 27:01
Speaker 3: such a vibrant restaurant scene in downtown Charssa, and it is.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: It is kicked up so much over the last couple
• 27:06
Speaker 3: of years. Doesn't hurt when you have a James Beard
• 27:09
Speaker 3: Award winning chef in the community who was Chef Paul
• 27:13
Speaker 3: goes out of his way to encourage all these restaurants.
• 27:15
Speaker 3: Whether he's taking part or not. There's not really downtown
• 27:18
Speaker 3: so to speak, but he's a big champion of all
• 27:20
Speaker 3: of these. I hear him on the hotline every Monday
• 27:22
Speaker 3: with of Coop and Weekly and he's just all about this,
• 27:25
  Speaker 3: supporting local businesses.
• 27:27
Speaker 8: Yes, it's incredible. And that's one thing about this event
• 27:30
Speaker 8: as well. You're not only supporting local arts groups by attending,
• 27:33
Speaker 8: but you're supporting the local restaurants.
• 27:36
Speaker 3: And that's something that we all need to do. And look,
• 27:39
Speaker 3: I'm not people know me and they listen to the show.
• 27:42
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna hate on chains because a lot of
• 27:44
Speaker 3: these steakhouses and so on, they employ a lot of people.
• 27:47
Speaker 3: And that's God bless him for that. I'm not hating
• 27:49
Speaker 3: on that and not like a good you know, chain
• 27:51
Speaker 3: burger or whatever every now and then myself. However, however,
• 27:54
Speaker 3: these are the people, these downtown businesses or wherever you're
• 27:57
Speaker 3: listening to us today in your particular town as well.
• 27:59
Speaker 3: These are the people that donate to your little league team.
• 28:02
Speaker 3: These are the teams that will help out with your
• 28:03
Speaker 3: church event. These are the folks that do that kind
• 28:05
Speaker 3: of stuff. So they need our support as well, especially
• 28:08
Speaker 3: since many of them are still recovering from the effects
• 28:10
Speaker 3: of COVID from a couple of years ago.
• 28:11
Speaker 8: Right exactly. You know, we're we're we're proud to partner
• 28:14
Speaker 8: with our local businesses and they're fantastic to work with.
• 28:17
Speaker 8: You know, these restaurant owners, they work hard and they
• 28:19
  Speaker 8: take real pride.
• 28:20
Speaker 12: In what they do.
• 28:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Sarah, it's always a pleasure to have
• 28:23

• 33:05
Speaker 3: is going to be here, going to spend some more
• 33:06
Speaker 3: time talking about the Pentagon Press thing. I'm gonna have
• 33:09
Speaker 3: more on that coming up in a couple of moments.

• 33:25
Speaker 3: David Bradley, and the marketing team, we're gonna be here
• 33:27
Speaker 3: on the show today. Plus it's open line West Virginia
• 33:29
Speaker 3: Metro News Midday powered by Selango Long coming up at
• 33:32
Speaker 3: noon till three today. And I was giving the texture
• 33:35
Speaker 3: kind of a smart a like answer there about providing
• 33:38
Speaker 3: data and so on and so forth. And I'm sorry
• 33:40
Speaker 3: I didn't do my homework, but I mean, talk to
• 33:43
Speaker 3: any business owner, they'll tell you. And we are still
• 33:46
Speaker 3: recovering from the stupidness that was shutting down this country
• 33:50
Speaker 3: like we did. And again we did not know what
• 33:53
Speaker 3: we did not know, to quote a former boss of mine,
• 33:56
Speaker 3: and there's no playbook for COVID, and you know, and
• 33:59
Speaker 3: we all get that and whatever, but this country should
• 34:02
Speaker 3: have never been shut down like it was now. Those
• 34:04
Speaker 3: that were those that were at risk, absolutely, And I'm
• 34:07
Speaker 3: speaking to a person who lost one of my best
• 34:09
Speaker 3: friends to COVID at age fifty. He was fifty years old,
• 34:13
Speaker 3: he had a bunch of health underlying health issues, didn't
• 34:16
Speaker 3: take his precautions that he needed to do, and unfortunately
• 34:19
Speaker 3: he passed. And so I'm not trying to diminish that
• 34:23
Speaker 3: in any way. I am just saying what the government,
• 34:26
Speaker 3: what the health organizations did to this country. And I'm
• 34:29
Speaker 3: not a COVID denier. I had COVID myself, basically, I
• 34:32
Speaker 3: had a running nose.
• 34:33
  Speaker 8: That was it.
• 34:34
Speaker 3: But I'm healthy, real other than mean fat. And so
• 34:38
Speaker 3: we're going to be studying this for years and the
• 34:40
Speaker 3: downright criminal activities that took place in this country by
• 34:45
Speaker 3: completely shutting the country down. I am not a COVID
• 34:47
Speaker 3: denier by any stretch of the imagination. I'm all for
• 34:50
Speaker 3: masking up and doing all the things, but what we
• 34:53
Speaker 3: did and completely destroying this country in the business community
• 34:58
Speaker 3: was criminal. Eighteen minutes away from this Pentagon thing, I
• 35:02
Speaker 3: talked about it a little yesterday, and you know, the
• 35:05
Speaker 3: players by now pretty much all the major news players
• 35:09
Speaker 3: in this country talking about straight news organizations, and I'm
• 35:13
Speaker 3: talking about ones that lean liberal and conservative news organizations.
• 35:17
Speaker 3: I mean, think CNN, and then on the other spectrum,
• 35:20
Speaker 3: think Fox News, and then think the Wall Street Journal,
• 35:24
Speaker 3: and then the New York Times and the Washington Post
• 35:27
Speaker 3: and PBS and MSNBC and even Newsmas Newsmas. Of all people,
• 35:34
Speaker 3: reporters from all of those organizations and more have turned
• 35:37
Speaker 3: in their press credentials rather than to follow along with
• 35:43
Speaker 3: Pete Hegseth's new rules. And I say good for them,
• 35:48
Speaker 3: because I am all about the free press. I'm also
• 35:51
Speaker 3: about the responsible press, and we are not talking about
• 35:55
Speaker 3: classified information here, all right, basically saying that the Trump
• 36:00
Speaker 3: administration and Pete hag Seth one wants to approve everything
• 36:06
Speaker 3: that goes out and that's not the way it works
• 36:09
Speaker 3: in America. Pyle, Sorry, that's that's not America. If you
• 36:13
Speaker 3: are putting something out there, if you're one of those
• 36:16
Speaker 3: responsible news organizations, putting something out there that is putting
• 36:19
Speaker 3: lives a danger. As I said, leaking classified information that
• 36:24
Speaker 3: would put us in harm's way from our enemies absolutely
• 36:28
Speaker 3: banned them. But as somebody said on the show yesterday,
• 36:32
Speaker 3: Pete hag Seth, the Great unifor I think it was
• 36:35
Speaker 3: Tjavid said that the Great Unifier has brought Newsmax and
• 36:41
Speaker 3: CNN together on this. The only organization I know that,
• 36:45
Speaker 3: I mean, I'm talking about a major organization that agreed
• 36:48
Speaker 3: to it was this right wing I mean, these folks
• 36:53
Speaker 3: are so nuts that Newsmax would look at them and go,
• 36:55
Speaker 3: you guys are nuts, and that's that oan stuff. They
• 36:58
Speaker 3: agreed to go along with it. But that's pretty much.
• 37:00
Speaker 3: And anytime you have governmental officials telling the press what
• 37:06
Speaker 3: they can and can't report or attempting to you're in
• 37:09
Speaker 3: a whole other level, whole other level in my opinion.
• 37:14
Speaker 3: So hats off. That's off to them. Tex says we
• 37:20
Speaker 3: did not know what we did not know somebody using
• 37:23
Speaker 3: a quote from my former boss. True, and we should
• 37:25
Speaker 3: not have been slandered silences and even targeted for questioning
• 37:28
Speaker 3: it at all. Now we found out we were right. Well,
• 37:31
Speaker 3: I agree with that to a certain extent. Text, you
• 37:33
Speaker 3: appreciate the text, you know, and again we're going to
• 37:40
Speaker 3: look back, and we're going to look back at this
• 37:42
Speaker 3: country's response to COVID for hundreds of years from now,
• 37:48
Speaker 3: and we're going to have another COVID eventually, maybe not
• 37:50
Speaker 3: called COVID. It's going to come back eventually. And the
• 37:53
Speaker 3: scientists and evanelbiologists in other words I have trouble pronouncing,
• 37:59
Speaker 3: have said for years it was coming. They pretty much
• 38:02
Speaker 3: said this is going to happen, and no one took
• 38:05
Speaker 3: them seriously, and oh it happened. It happened in a
• 38:10
Speaker 3: big way. My take on again, I am not unlike you.
• 38:13
Speaker 3: I do not have my PhD in uh in in
• 38:17
Speaker 3: in medicine or sciences or anything like that from Facebook university.
• 38:20
Speaker 3: I did not go to Zuckerberg U. Okay, but I
• 38:24
Speaker 3: will say the un the unneeded shutdown of this country
• 38:31
Speaker 3: was criminal. And I'm somebody. I'm not anti VACS, I'm
• 38:35
Speaker 3: not anti COVID preparedness. I took the I took the jab.
• 38:40
Speaker 3: As they say, I can probably go into dark now.
• 38:42
Speaker 3: But I'm okay. You know, uh Texas Dave Allen, expert
• 38:50
Speaker 3: at Disease Ever, said that every country shut down in Sweden,
• 38:54
Speaker 3: the one everyone knows the point you admitted they were
• 38:55
Speaker 3: wrong for not shutting down. Zero ended up with worst
• 38:59
Speaker 3: rates and recovery than the US what are you going
• 39:01
Speaker 3: on about criminal what's your evidence of this mistake? Where
• 39:04
Speaker 3: the evidence another way? Work or make a nuanced argument
• 39:07
Speaker 3: about schools. But your broad bush is broad brush, is embellic,
• 39:11
Speaker 3: says a Tanster. Okay, that's fine. You don't they give
• 39:15
Speaker 3: me a microphone. Just spout off opinions, and that's what
• 39:18
Speaker 3: I do. And I also allow for your opinions as well.
• 39:21
Speaker 3: Tex says I just talked to a business owner that
• 39:23
Speaker 3: made more money following COVID than ever. I guess my
• 39:25
Speaker 3: feelings that way. Yours pathetic that you make claims you
• 39:29
Speaker 3: know you can't back up. Look at the job recovery,
• 39:31
Speaker 3: GDP growth, consumer spending, et cetera. All were up after
• 39:34
Speaker 3: the pandemic, and the US had the greatest recovery in
• 39:37
Speaker 3: the world, at least until a. Okay, I'm out, sorry, Texan.
• 39:43
Speaker 3: That is exactly what the Biden administration told Zuckerberg to do,
• 39:46
Speaker 3: what to report and what not to report, Texa, Dave,
• 39:50
Speaker 3: did we not lose one million to COVID? What would
• 39:53
Speaker 3: the numbers been without shutting down? I don't know. I
• 39:56
Speaker 3: can't answer that. I don't know what the numbers would
• 39:57
Speaker 3: have been that shut down. I know there'd have been
• 39:58
Speaker 3: a had of a lot more businesses still in business today.
• 40:01
Speaker 3: I know them. Story posted this morning at wv metronews
• 40:06
Speaker 3: dot com. A No King's rally protesting the policies of
• 40:11
Speaker 3: the Trump administration being held across the country on Saturday.
• 40:15
Speaker 3: Over twenty five hundred different communities are having these rallies.
• 40:18
Speaker 3: One is going to be in Charleston. This one is
• 40:20
Speaker 3: the second one that's been held in Charleston. I had
• 40:25
Speaker 3: one of the organizers of the one in Charleston on
• 40:29
Speaker 3: the midday show yesterday, a good friend of mine, Pastor
• 40:32
Speaker 3: Marlon Collins, Shallow Baptist here in Charleston, and he was
• 40:37
Speaker 3: one of the folks. There's several organizations that are doing this.
• 40:39
Speaker 3: He's one of the ones. The one in Charleston's gonna
• 40:42
Speaker 3: started at eleven in front of the Bird Federal Courthouse
• 40:45
Speaker 3: and will wind its way to the capital. Organizers including
• 40:49
Speaker 3: I'm talking about groups now a CLU, Westerrginiona Free, the
• 40:52
Speaker 3: Charleston NAACP, and others. And I guess we got some
• 40:56
Speaker 3: quotes from Pastor Collins, including his story w metronews dot com.
• 41:01
Speaker 3: I efforted to get him on locally this morning but
• 41:05
Speaker 3: he is a church pastor and a dad, so those
• 41:08
Speaker 3: things take precedence, and I completely understand. So these events
• 41:13
Speaker 3: around the state are taking place, as I said, in Charleston,
• 41:16
Speaker 3: New Martinsville, Wheeling, Bluefield, Huntington, Kaiser, Romney, Wardensville, Berkeley Springs, Shepherdstown, Clarksburg, Somersville, Louisbourg, Elkinson, Fayetteville,
• 41:26
Speaker 3: among others. So you have that many in West Virginia,
• 41:30
Speaker 3: which is a solidly Trump state. It's not hard to
• 41:34
Speaker 3: figure out how the twenty five hundred nationwide came about.
• 41:38
Speaker 3: That's the twenty five hundred different communities around America that
• 41:41
Speaker 3: are doing these. About five million people took part in
• 41:45
Speaker 3: the nationwide in June. And to the person on my
• 41:49
Speaker 3: Facebook page that estimated that there would be three or
• 41:53
Speaker 3: five show up in Charlestown, I think it's going to
• 41:55
Speaker 3: be slightly more than that. I think it's gould be
• 41:58
Speaker 3: a lot more than that. And look to them, people
• 42:02
Speaker 3: are right or wrong or frustrated. And it may look
• 42:06
Speaker 3: silly to some because nothing's going to change, especially in
• 42:11
Speaker 3: West Virginia, where support for President Trump is as high
• 42:16
Speaker 3: as it's ever been, maybe higher. But you do you
• 42:20
Speaker 3: it's part of being an American the right to peaceful protest.
• 42:24
Speaker 3: So like yourselves out. It's going to be in Charleston again.
• 42:26
Speaker 3: Starts eleven o'clock for the Bird Courthouse, is going to
• 42:29
Speaker 3: go to the Capitol, wrap up about three Big Riley
• 42:30
Speaker 3: planned gonna be a couple hundred people there, twenty five
• 42:33
Speaker 3: one hundred different communities around America. Five million people in
• 42:36
Speaker 3: all protesting. No kings, Okay, have at it. I mean
• 42:41
  Speaker 3: I support them. I mean I don't support I support
• 42:46
Speaker 3: peaceful protest no matter what it is, because that you're
• 42:48

Speaker 3: that true in West Virginia? Though, I mean, I'm not

Speaker 3: true in West Virginia. But I may be wrong. I've

Speaker 3: case in Judge Lindsay's courtroom yesterday because plaintiff didn't show up,

Speaker 3: so the hearing now scheduled for tomorrow at night. I
• 48:28
Speaker 3: don't know if you had a chance to see this
• 48:29
Speaker 3: last night, and it was pretty good. News Nation held
• 48:31
Speaker 3: a town hall last night. It was broadcast live A
• 48:34
Speaker 3: News Nation also the CW network, hosted by Chris Cuomo,
• 48:36
Speaker 3: Bill O'Reilly was there. Former Senator Mansion, Stephen A. Smith,
• 48:40
Speaker 3: Jim Jordan, a couple of other people from Congress and
• 48:43
Speaker 3: the media. A few podcasters, former Obama stafford, et cetera.
• 48:46
Speaker 3: I thought it was very good. I mean it kept
• 48:49
Speaker 3: me awake un till ten thirty last night, which unless
• 48:50
Speaker 3: the Cowboys will play, never ever happens. It was all
• 48:54
Speaker 3: about the divisiveness that we all see in America. TJ
• 48:58
Speaker 3: and I were texting about this last night, he joins us. Now, TJ,
• 49:01
Speaker 3: you watched some of it last night, didn't you. I did.
• 49:02
Speaker 3: I watched a good portion of it. Yeah, okay, here's
• 49:05
Speaker 3: my take on it, and you can give me yours.
• 49:08
Speaker 3: I think that was I think Cuomo did a great job.
• 49:10
Speaker 3: I think Bill O'Reilly needs to hang it up. O'Reilly
• 49:13
Speaker 3: was kind of embarrassing last night. It's Bill, It's time
• 49:15
Speaker 3: to go, okay. Steven A. Smith did a great job.
• 49:17
Speaker 3: I thought Joe Manchin did a great job. The people
• 49:19
Speaker 3: that were on that I didn't necessarily agree with. I
• 49:21
Speaker 3: thought they all did a great job. Little heated there
• 49:24
Speaker 3: at one point between the gentlemen from the Charlie Kirk
• 49:27
Speaker 3: group and the other guy. They was little heated, But
• 49:30
Speaker 3: all in all I thought I thought it was pretty good,
• 49:31
Speaker 3: great audience participation. The problem to me with that was
• 49:35
Speaker 3: TJ is that the people that are really causing the
• 49:38
Speaker 3: division in this country, right or left, they probably weren't
• 49:44
Speaker 3: taking part there last night. Do you understand what I'm
• 49:47
Speaker 3: trying to say by that? I mean it was like,
• 49:49
Speaker 3: to use the cliche, It was like preaching to the
• 49:51
Speaker 3: proverbial choir there. And what I heard was, we've got
• 49:54
Speaker 3: to tone down the rheter, we got to tone down
• 49:56
Speaker 3: the volume. Mansion said it, the former Obama staffers said it,
• 49:59
Speaker 3: steven A said it, Cuomo said it. All good stuff,
• 50:02
Speaker 3: and they're absolutely one hundred percent right. Those aren't the
• 50:05
Speaker 3: people that were causing that are causing all the problems
• 50:07
Speaker 3: in my opinion, your opinion.
• 50:09
Speaker 9: My opinion is that divisiveness pays too well. And the
• 50:15
Speaker 9: people who were not on that stage last night, those
• 50:18
Speaker 9: that are purveyors of such divisiveness.
• 50:21
Speaker 3: It pays too well. Too many people are employed by it.
• 50:24
Speaker 3: That was brought out by somebody on stage. I don't
• 50:26
Speaker 3: remember who it was. When somebody brought that out on stage.
• 50:28
Speaker 9: Last night, I thought stephen A was cutting through the crap,
• 50:33
Speaker 9: which people appreciate. The only thing I'll ding Cuomo for
• 50:36
Speaker 9: he should have shut O'Reilly down, Yes said sit down
• 50:38
Speaker 9: there o'reiley should have never been there, been there he
• 50:40
Speaker 9: was trying to sell his book and all these so
• 50:44
Speaker 9: out of till one.
• 50:44
Speaker 3: Point there was a shot of Stephen A. Smith with
• 50:47
Speaker 3: his hand in his face.
• 50:48
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 50:49
Speaker 3: And then of course Steven A. Smith walked off at
• 50:51
Speaker 3: one point, and I thought it was very dramatic what
• 50:54
Speaker 3: he did, because what he was talking about they were
• 50:56
Speaker 3: talking to was an air traffic controller. Yeah, I think
• 50:58
Speaker 3: an air traffic control or who is not getting paid
• 51:01
Speaker 3: because the government shut down and is having to do
• 51:04
Speaker 3: door dash. Yes, And Steven A gets up there, points
• 51:07
Speaker 3: at everybody in the stage and said, everybody on the
• 51:09
Speaker 3: stage are making millions of dollars doing what we maybe
• 51:11
Speaker 3: not all, but a lot of them making millions of dollars,
• 51:13
Speaker 3: and this guy's having to do door dash. He gets
• 51:15
Speaker 3: up and walks out. Show did well. I mean, it's
• 51:18
Speaker 3: amazing how calm you can be, not that he wasn't
• 51:20
Speaker 3: before when you don't have something on the hook, you
• 51:23
Speaker 3: know what I mean.
• 51:24
Speaker 9: He's like, look, let me tell you how it is,
• 51:26
  Speaker 9: and I don't care what you think because I don't
• 51:27
Speaker 9: have to earn your vote anymore.
• 51:28
Speaker 3: So there's a freedom in that. But he got so
• 51:30
  Speaker 3: ticked off.
• 51:31
Speaker 9: I think it O'Riley too. I mean he started playing
• 51:33
Speaker 9: dancing feet like moving stat around. You tastered me about
• 51:36
Speaker 9: that up down certain rhythms. I mean, so no good
• 51:39
Speaker 9: good overall. Cuomo Rain and Bill Riley don't have him
• 51:43
Speaker 9: back the second time. Good discussion. Need to work on
• 51:47
Speaker 9: getting some of those people together that really want to
• 51:49
Speaker 9: stir the pot and call them out.
• 51:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, but again preaching to the choir. Yeah, preaching to
