- 0:34SPEAKER_02: He's actually in New Jersey right now, so it's just me running solo.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: I have an amazing guest today.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Miss Kimberly Rock.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: Miss Kimberly Rock.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: It's so good that you're here.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: I'm happy to be here.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: So nervous.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: I'm going to start off that as I drive here to shoot videos, like to shoot episodes, I'm shitting my pants half the time.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: I hate it, but I love it.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: So if you're nervous at all.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: I hope not.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Literally.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Literally, I didn't.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Not today.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: But I get nervous.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: So don't.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: It's we're just having a conversation.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: And you are one of the most interesting interesting friends that I have.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: I hope that's a good thing.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: That's a great thing.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: That makes you a local legend.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: This is why you're on here.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: And the reason I'm saying you're the most interesting because anyone that meets you, and myself included, doesn't know how you're still single.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Like you're beautiful, extremely successful, you own a home.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Through Jessica.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: Bought and sold and bought.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: And uh it's crazy because, like, again, I know people, even people that I know that meet you are like, how is she still single?
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Now, this is why you're on here.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: You need to explain what it is like and why you are still single in your third.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Can I ask your age?
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: 38.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: 38.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Why are you still single?
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: What is going on out there?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: How much time you got?
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: We got 25 minutes.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: 25 minutes.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's so many reasons.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Tell me.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Tell me.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: It's just hard.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: You know, you you don't want to settle.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I have many people I know, they settle and then they're miserable, and then they have kids, and um, there's just too many options with the dating apps, and it's just difficult.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And then you get sick of people, you know?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And as you get older, it's just you become more aware of what you want and more comfortable on your own, especially when you've been alone for a long time.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And you're just, I'm like your mom.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Like your mom is fine in her one bedroom, yeah, so content.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: No one's putting a fucking lamp on your mom's like dresser.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: And I get it.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I totally get it.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: You just get into your routine and you don't want to be bothered by someone else's bullshit.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: They gotta bring something, you know.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: But now, so have you like going back to high school?
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Did you date in high school?
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Like did you have no?
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: I was perfect.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: No, I was a cheerleader, so I had cheerleading like two different teams every weekend.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: I didn't drink alcohol, like nothing like that.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, you were like a goody goody.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: I was perfect.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Freaking perfect.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: And I didn't start to date till college.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I dated someone for like four years.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, so you were a late bloomer.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: I was a very late bloomer.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: But nice guy, those are the people I think you meet someone when you're a lot younger and you're too young to realize like how good it is.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: You let it go because you think there's something else, and then you realize 15 years later, oh shit, you know, maybe I had a good thing then.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: So that guy you dated for four years, is he married now?
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: No idea.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: He blocked me on.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: Haven't been able to find him 16 years, probably.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: You know what's so wild?
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: I feel like any guy that I I didn't date many, but any guy that I dated, they're so like MIA on social media.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Is it bizarre, right?
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: Are your guys MIA?
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I think it's good and bad.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: A lot of guys they do have social media, and the ones that don't is kind of cool too.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: They're not on their phones all the time.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: They're more private.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So that's a good thing.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: Okay, going back to your guy.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: Okay, so four years, broke up.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Why'd you break up?
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Because I I wanted to move to Arizona.
- 4:06unknown: Oh.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: So I came out here.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this was like 2010.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And then um, yeah, I mean, I've had a couple real you you know, you know, should I mention names on here probably?
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I mentioned some names in the last couple episodes.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: But I know.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't want to necessarily do that.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, I mean, I've had a couple long-term relationships, three years, four years.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Actually, not since then, but it's just tough.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: It's you get it's it's hard to explain.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: So you were in your twenties when you that was your longest relationship, the four years.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: With with yeah, with James's name.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: And then moved out here.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: Moved out here.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: Dated a little that's right.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: You date a little bit.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: We like Oh yeah.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: There was guys.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: Nothing serious.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Nothing serious.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: It's hard it's hard in Scottsdale and it's hard in the East Coast too.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: It's hard anywhere you go.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Why do you think it's hard here?
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: I think because it's very well, I think it's probably harder for men, very like superficial, especially in Scottsdale.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: I'm very content being in Phoenix.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Um, but everyone I remember when I first moved here, I went to Fashion Square Mall.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It was like a Monday.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And I was in my twenties, and these women were walking around in an outfit that I would like splurge on for New Year's Eve.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And it was a Monday at 10 a.m.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: And they're you know what I mean?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: And like the that's what you're dealing with here in Scottsdale.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And I think it's it's a lot.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: It's intimidating.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: It's intimidating for me, you know.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: So that's why.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: So that's it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: That's why you're single.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: No, that's no, definitely not why I'm single.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I think I'm just picky, you know, and selective.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: And you really need to have so much in common and like really want to put the energy into it for it to last.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: And no relationship's perfect.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: That's probably my problem too.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Like you can't just pick apart little things.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I used to be a lot more, I don't want to say shallow, but like unrealistic, like 10 years ago versus how I am now.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Now I just you want to meet someone, be happy, you know?
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Um, so we'll see.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: So you meet someone, just talk about when we first like when I met you, when you moved here, there was a couple guys you would date, right?
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: Be really into.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: And then what happens?
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: Like, I it's been so long.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: So, like what happens, like what why does the relationship run its course?
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: Like, did any has anything happened significantly?
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm trying to remember a couple guys that I remember.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: It can be little things like the ick, we'll get into that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: But like I broke up with someone that I was with for two years over a fucking pizza because he was cheap.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that's right.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And spiteful.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: And I was hungry.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, you would need to tell that story because that's a good one.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: And this person is one of the nicest people too.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Love.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Love.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: But uh it was a Sunday, and we were ordering um uh Grimaldi's?
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we were ordering Grimaldi's, and I wanted a Caesar salad instead of getting he was spiting me and not getting the large pizza instead of the medium, right?
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: It's like a four dollar difference.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: And you get two more slices.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: This is serious.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: And we ended up having this blowout fight.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: I said, get the fucking large, I'll pay for it.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: And it was so ridiculous.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: But these stupid moments, this story that I'm telling is your answer.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Exactly why I'm single.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Because I'm bitching about a pizza.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but But that has to like there is nothing worse than someone that's cheap.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: I don't care how hot they are, how much money they have, but that is such a gross It is, right?
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And I always I'm pretty frugal.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I my advice to everyone is like, live below your means and whatever you think that is, go even lower because you never know what tomorrow's gonna bring, especially with the economy.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: But cheap I can't do.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: No.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: No.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: No.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: So you felt the ick in the past.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not it wasn't a secret, it was cheap.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that I don't even think we knew about the ick then.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: I the ick came I from that show.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: It's um when that the chick she's dating the rabbi.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: It's on Netflix, and he orders the rest of the.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, it was such an amazing ragoo.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: She's like, oh my god.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: That's the worst.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: So you got it then.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Not with not with him, not over the pizza.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: I've had it on several other occasions with other people, and these little things can happen that you just can't unsee.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: You're done.
- 8:18unknown: Yeah.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think of but early on, right?
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: Like this one, this guy you were dating for two years.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: But that was just you clearly knew he was cheap, but that instance specifically was like, that's it, we're done.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: Like I can't do it.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: It wasn't even that.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: No, because then COVID hit and we were, you know, we lived close together and it was convenient.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, but no, it wasn't that.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't say that was the reason.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: It's just these little things, but you know what that is?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: That's something festering, something that festered for a while, that I was annoyed by.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And then you like, you it it it blows up, right you know, you erupt like Mount Vesuvius.
- 8:54unknown: You know.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: And okay, so that was that relationship.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: And then now that's that wasn't the ick.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to my best ick story actually.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I was dating this guy about how'd you meet him?
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: On Bumble.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Bumble and Hinge.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: I do both.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And um How long have you doing both?
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I have a lifetime membership.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: I paid$250 on Bumble.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Years ago.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: But then I I won't go on it sometimes for like a year at a time.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: But I'm still on there.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: So I was dating this guy for like, this is actually very funny, probably like three weeks, four weeks, and he was a bit of a germophobe.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: He didn't want any people to wear shoes in their house, but that makes sense.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Like we tracking all sorts of shit and germs, dogs.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And so that was fine.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: There was a shoe roll, and I went over there one week, and I think we were going to the pool.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: So I picked up like white claws or Julies or something.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: And he was coming out of the house to help me bring in the bag.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: And at the same time that he was coming out, he realized that now he had stepped into uncharted territory on the sidewalk with socks on, right?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: His clean socks.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And I shit you not.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: He starts hopping around like on his toes, like high knees, like a fucking cat on a hot tin roof.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I almost had a fucking heart attack.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: What do you mean?
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: It was just jumping around so that he didn't get his like Tootsies dirty.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: And I that was it.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: Oh my God.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Things like that.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: When you're watching it happen, you're like, ugh, like ick.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: That was it.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: That was the ick.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: That was the ick.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: How'd you end it with him?
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: That was it was just kind of slow.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: And then it was just, eh, we're not really, you know, a match.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: And uh-bye.
- 10:35unknown: You know.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: So after that, are you hopping right back on match or hinge?
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: Well, he was hopping on something.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: No.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Your mom and I like said, this all get into like sometimes I can't even open the app.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: I get the ick from the app.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: I Kimmy, I'm sorry.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: I can't even imagine.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: I really can't imagine what's going on there.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: You're so lucky you have Jason.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm so such a doll.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: But it probably, I feel like a lot of single people too.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: As we get older, we talked about this.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Like once you live alone and you're able, you you realize that you could live alone.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: You don't need someone else, right?
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: You could financially do it, especially work.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Jess is your mortgage person, broker.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: But you know, being able to know that you are fine.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: You know, once you get out of your parents' house and you really get more established with yourself, I could totally see it being okay.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Like, do you really want to bring someone in and have to share everything you've built and right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Like it's probably really hard.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: And I'm sure you watch friends and family that are married going through stuff and you're like, oh, fuck that, right?
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Like, aren't there a lot of times you're like, I'm so happy, I don't have to deal with that.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: The common um denominator I see with all my friends is they're all bitching about their husbands, mostly because they're not helping with the kids.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And I I mean, no relationship is easy.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: I think being a mom is harder than my job.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Like I would rather do my job than deal with like these kids all day.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: But yeah, nothing's easy.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: But I have gotten you just become so comfortable being on your own that it's like kind of like it's foreign to have someone come in.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: It's an inconvenience.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: And that and that's not a good thing.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: That you know, then there's people that are in relationships for so long and then they're single and then they don't know how to be alone.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Kimmy, I will tell you, I there was eight months, like from my ex to Jason, there was an eight-month single Jess.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Oh God.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: It was, I mean, I was hopping around, like I was out there trying to find love.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I don't know how to be, I'm not whole unless there's someone that compliments.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Like, I was convinced my mindset was so on that I needed someone to to be happy, yeah, which was wild.
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: Like and I moved across the the country.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Country.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: But I did fall in.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, I fell in love, but that feeling of oh my God.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: And I remember people being like, you have to be single, like you need to find yourself.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I found myself and I have to be with someone.
- 13:05SPEAKER_02: Like I just convinced myself.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: But now at 45, I'm like, I'm in love, but I could do this.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: I could be alone.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: I could see how it's kind of oh yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: A cool thing.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, absolutely.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Not having to share shit.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Your mess is your mess.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: You're not dealing with other people's stuff.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: Let's get into kids.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Let's talk about kids.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Because I know you've dated.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, as we get older, you're going to date people with kids.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, 100%.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: You don't have any kids.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Not that I know of.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: But tell me how it is.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: You you meet with someone on hinge or what is it?
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Hinge?
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Hinge or hinge or bumble.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Hinge or bumble, and you see they have kids.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Are you like, eh, are you like, oh, cool.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: What is your response to that?
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: See now, really anyone you meet, like I have my age range.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: I'm 38, so I I go up to 50.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And a lot of these guys, of course, they have kids, and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, and I've only dated two or three people that have kids, you're not gonna like love, like they love their kids.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: They're not my kids, you know?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: And what I've learned through it is the kids come first, of course they should uh then the ex-wife, the ex-spouse comes, and then you're third.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: And whoever you're dating is gonna say, no, that's not the case at all.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: It always is.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: And being third in line when you're at a trampoline park on a Saturday with someone else's fucking kids is not a good place to be.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So you really need to love the person to, you know, for that to work.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: I was seeing someone pretty serious, we'd reconnected, and he had a seven-year-old and an 11-year-old.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: And there I was seeing he lived in a different state too, which made things like very complicated.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: But there was one Saturday I felt like I had to check myself.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Like our time was limited already because I was, you know, he was flying there and he was flying here.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: And his seven-year-old was sitting on his lap, and I was sitting there, and I'm thinking, why am I jealous of a seven-year-old kid?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: And I was.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: I want to sit on daddy.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: But you get to-vision yourself throwing her off his kid or down.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: They're just his kids are such good kids, but Santa's not real.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Santa's not real kid.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: And I had to, you know, obviously like sleep separate.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: And, you know, he's his kids are checking on him.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: You have to sleep in bed with them.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And if he even moved, they're daddy, you know.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: It's yeah.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: So it's, but that I respect, you know, like honestly, if you're seeing someone and they're a phenomenal dad, it's a major turn on.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Special thank you to Justin Liszt from State Farm.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: Justin is our sponsor here at Local Legends with Jess and Jay.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: His mission is simple.

- 16:01SPEAKER_02: We're grateful for the support and proud to highlight Justin and his team for truly making a difference in our community.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: I went out on a date with someone once when when Lisa tailed me and followed me and was taking the videos of them.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And the guy we were talking and he had said he had kids.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: He then he tells me he has no relationship with them.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: I've never been so turned off in my life.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: That was it.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Like if you're Oh, I totally remember.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Two daughters aren't talking to you, you got a problem.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, that's right.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it's but it's something if you really care about the person, you'll make it work for sure.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: And if someone would have another one, I'm all in.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Because you want to have kids.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: At least one.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I'm getting a little older now, so But you definitely want at least a kids.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: How are we going to find you a guy, Kim?
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: I feel like the dating sites are weird.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: They are.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: They are weird.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: And people lie.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Like people.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: It's just and men deal with it worse.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: With women with all the filters, we're all guilty of it.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Like, let's be honest.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: That's all I do.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: Everything's a filter.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: I mean this whole video is going to be it better be.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: And someone has to hold my freaking turkey neck.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Um if I was on a dating site, I would have all my AI pictures up there.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: And I would absolutely be catfishing someone.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, like I'm admitting I would.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: They'd be screwed.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Remember when I called Jason that time and he called screaming?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: I had that bad date, and I texted you and said, have your husband call me with an emergency.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: And he called screaming like a fucking fish wife.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: But the problem, like you get you can post five pictures.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: So of course you're going to put your best foot forward.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: Even me.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I have a picture from like six years ago, and I was in that solo Scottsdale magazine.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I look like a fucking Victoria's Secret angel.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Like it's you know, it's not.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: But I even have that old photo.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: But so I think men deal with that with the filters.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: You have to stalk someone on Instagram first and Facebook or FaceTime.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: That was a thing during COVID because we couldn't meet.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: We started doing these FaceTime dates with people.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: God, it saves so much time.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Is it like hi?
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Like, isn't it awkward?
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's totally awkward because you got to put on like a little makeup.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: You could have no pants on.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: They wouldn't know you just gotta have like a normal shirt, you know?
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: But what's weird to me is like if we're going to meet you in person, why are you lying?
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: Like if you're if your hinge profile says that you're six foot two and I show up and you look like the secretariat from I know, sorry, the horse jockey from like the fucking secretariat, we're gonna have a problem.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I've had that happen too.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: It's just we're gonna meet you.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: So just put your like be who you are, be real, put your realistic photos up.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: And let it be that, you know.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Wait, wasn't it the guy?
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: Wasn't there a guy once at Isabella's?
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: Was that the time didn't you bother this guy?
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: Holy shit.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Didn't you call us?
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: You're like, he's like 4'11.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: That was another one.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: That was the horse jockey.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: That was at Sorso.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: No, this guy, I didn't even think about this until today.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: He had great Instagram photos.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: My sister's happily married, and you know, and I had showed her the his profile.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: She's like, oh my God, can I fuck him?
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: You know, like he was he was hot from Texas.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: He had, I don't remember the job.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: This was a long time ago.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: I literally went and met him at Isabelle as I got dressed up.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: I walked in.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: He was he was missing a tooth.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's wrong.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: He was missing a fucking tooth.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: And there were other men at the bar probably wondering, what is this chick doing with this dude?
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: And I just remembered this.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: I I did leave.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: I lied.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: I said that my mom What did you do?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: I did we call you?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: I did a different one.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: I had my mom call me.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: And then I just said, This poor bastard probably knew.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I'm like, listen, I gotta go.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: My mom's boyfriend just broke up with her.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Oh right.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And then we were we were there like six months later and he was there.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: And I almost dove under that outdoor patio table.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: I just but that's a perfect example.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: If men don't have any pictures smiling, run.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Done.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: If they have shirtless photos, they're insecure, they're fucking weird.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Run.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: It's it's what are some other signs of creeps on uh these dating apps?
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: Can pull up a dating approach.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: If they send you a dick pic, that's obviously a problem.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: Do people do that?
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Have you had that done?
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Like prior to meeting them?
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: I sure have.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: No! What do you mean?
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: You can report them on these apps, but yeah, I mean, there's a lot of perfs on there.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: And wait.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of married men, I think.
- 20:33unknown: Really?
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: I've noticed a pattern, like a lot of men sometimes you'll exchange numbers or or and then they want a pen pal.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And why are we just texting?
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: It's like they want like validation in some way, and you're texting for a couple weeks and make a fucking plan.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: And I I I think they're married.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: I really do.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And what do you think they're doing?
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: Just getting attention?
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: I think they're getting attention.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Their wives are obviously clueless or don't realize they're oblivious, right?
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Their husbands are on these and they're talking to them.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: I would have no idea if Jay was on.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: I don't look at his phone anymore.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: And they're talking to the Kimmy Rocks in the world, probably laughing their asses off.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: It's bad.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: It's bad.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: We gotta get out there and just we do.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: It'd be funny to see you if if you were dating.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: I think you'd you'd kill it.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't I don't know.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: I think it'd be horrible.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: I think you'd intimidate a lot of men.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: No.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: That's a huge compliment.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: With those tits.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: I love you.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: I can't can't.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: And you would one thing too, just thinking about it.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: I was thinking about it on my way over because I've never done a podcast.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: But like you know when you walk into a date within the first, I would say 15 to 30 seconds if you're interested.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: You really do, because you're attracted to them or you're not.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: And then I never do dinner on a first date because if you don't have that going, then you gotta sit through the meal.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: It's awkward when the check comes.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: You gotta like if they let me pay, ick gross, you know, on a first date.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: date.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Later on you can obviously do that.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: And I do.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: But yeah, you just know right away.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: So that's the that's the tough part, you know?
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: But and then sometimes you can have if it's really bad, you're out of there in 45 minutes.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: But then how do you leave?
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: I just text my friends or my mother and tell them emergency 911, get me the fuck out of here.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: And what is your like give me a the craziest date?
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: Probably the one when I had your husband call me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Um that was like eight years ago.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: That guy, I was completely catfished.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: He another one had a kid.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: And the person that I first of all I should have the red flag should have gone up because he suggested meeting at the Tilted Kilt.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Where's that?
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I don't even know where the South of Bell Road.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Oh my God.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: But I'm new to the area.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I was new to Arizona.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: What a weird place.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Like it was a pub.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: It was weird.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: And I think the women wore like slutty outfits.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Oh almost like Twin Peaks.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: It was like a Twin Peaks.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: And the person that I met was not the person from the photos but like looked kind of similar.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe it was like a brother.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah we sat down and he told me that he has a very colorful past like he had been arrested for stealing street bikes in Seattle.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm like Jason call me with an emergency.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah I snuck into the bathroom.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: But I used to date a lot like I used to be on a mission dating like just going through them.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: And here I am.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: And now I've taken like I went a year like I just get so disgusted by it.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm content.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: You know I'm with my family a lot my niece and nephew and I'm fine like not but then at the same time when you meet someone and it's right and it's like It's so fun.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: It's so fun.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: And if you're not interested in someone on the first date I've made this mistake too.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: You're oh he's nice he's this maybe go on the second and see if it's different.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Just no.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: If it's not a hell yes it's a no like on the first date.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: So I've become a lot smarter with that.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: And I'm very I am a compassionate person.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: So I hate getting ghosted.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: I've been ghosted before.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the fuck is wrong with these men.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: They're blind.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: But um but I don't like to do that to someone.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: And I always will send the courtesy text like afterwards like we're not a match.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: You know whatever you got to say but I don't like to hurt people's feelings.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah right because you don't know what's going on in someone's life and totally that's another very difficult thing if you have a soul and like a conscience of dating because you have to be the you have to be nice enough to have the courtesy to send that text.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: You know and just and not just completely ghost someone and have them because I've been there and it's a really shitty place to think.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: It's the worst feeling ever.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Okay so you have you have the full audience of the whole world right now.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Oh wow okay talk to your future husband tell him about you tell him what you're waiting for tell him your like fantasy life do it first of all I would tell them to find a therapist now.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: No no I'm totally kidding my fantasy life I love dogs like that has to be in the in the picture.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Um that's another thing I think I would have to say like I I always will work right I like to work except for if I had kids I would love to take some time off right and then I could be just like you bitches bitching about my husband.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: It doesn't fucking do anything and you know and I'm not getting a paycheck you know with a kid on my tit.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: But um yeah I mean I think just when it's right and that would be an adjustment for me.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: I've lived with one person before it's tough.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: You learn a lot about a person when you move in with them.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah just finding someone I mean I think you have to date someone for a long time couple years before you cohabitate because it's it's a lot and I like I learned the hard way one time as you know and um that was a long time.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: I think I lasted six weeks there.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: I know I know.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: But at least you did it.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Like at least you moved in and figured see I think you get it over with right away.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: Like you meet someone you go on a few dates and then you move right in and you see you see if you could live together.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: It works for some people.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: It does but like with my experience I moved in way too fast.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: I broke my lease but there was that spark.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: And he had a dog.
