- Herve Francois (00:00.181) It's either Milly Orb- Water. Mark Hayes (00:08.275) What is that? I don't know what's going on here. We're getting some upload. Are you seeing that? Brock Ganeles (00:12.622) alive. Herve Francois (00:14.163) Ever laugh? See what? Brock Ganeles (00:15.244) I know. No. Mark Hayes (00:18.525) We're on. okay. I'm getting some uploading message. All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. Mark Hayes here. wanted to talk to you a little bit today about the democratic socialist movement that's moving forward in the center of the country. I mean, and and let's call it left center as we look at what happened in Colorado. Also, we are continuing to follow the World Cup madness because it is absolutely madness. We absolutely adore it. Herve Francois (00:19.401) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (00:19.405) Yeah. Mark Hayes (00:47.878) door the the the spirit with which this competition is taking place also happening because you know shit never stops more shit in the Strait of Hormoes ships running aground it's just an absolute mess and then speaking of the conflict in the Middle East 100 100 school children killed In a strike by US military forces. The Pentagon, Cheeto Mussolini have nothing to say. All right, and we are also following the loss of the protected status for our Haitian American friends and family members. We have one of them with us today. Hervey Francois is here with us, along with Brock Donnellis joining us now on the pod. All right, gentlemen, I don't know where to start. You know what? Let's start with the great American cookout, right? Two people scaled the fucking Empire State Building today, and that was two more people than attended that fucking America 250 cookout. Nobody's going to that bullshit. Nobody wants to be around it. Nobody wants to be associated with the Trumpster. But you know what? Let's get back to things that really matter. Fuck his cookout. Fuck his cheeseburgers. and his stale hot dogs and rotten food that are gonna be there. Let's get back to the things that really matter. Herve, what's got you teed off today? We'll let you tee it up first as a guest. Herve Francois (02:23.349) Well, I mean you go to the fair and the reflecting pool ain't reflecting. mean what else you want? Still ain't reflecting. That's what I'm talking about. Anyone throw some coin tablets in there? Just try that for size. Moving on. Moving on. So hey listen, thanks guys for having me on. I appreciate it. Mark Hayes (02:28.496) It ain't reflected. The algae is algaeing. Algae gonna algae. Brock Ganeles (02:34.958) you Mark Hayes (02:42.692) Man. Herve Francois (02:47.669) It's been a while. I'm sorry traveling here and there and everything else like that. Never dull moment, never anything to run out to talk about and everything else like that. So always a pleasure to have Beon and speak with you guys. Mark Hayes (02:56.632) No doubt. Herve Francois (03:02.229) because you guys are a wealth, wealth of information. Yeah, listen, there's a lot of cross currents, a lot of things moving on, top of mind and whatnot. They do a great job of throwing a new topic at us tomorrow and then we forget about what they threw at us just 24, 48 hours prior or whatnot. So that's why these conversations are so important, continuous and things like that. I think before we jumped on live here, we were talking about a few things. Mark, you just brought up TPS, temporary protection status. Supreme Court just shot down a few days ago and everything else like that. Listen, unfortunately, as part of this administration, the way this court has been ruling on things, was not surprised, definitely disappointed and hurt. These Haitian brothers and sisters, I think these are all Haitian brothers and sisters, come in here because their country was under all kinds of violence, gang violence taking place and everything else like that, just an opportunity Mark Hayes (03:46.529) Right, right. Herve Francois (04:02.159) to come over here, get some education, get a job, start their families coming over here in a legal constitutional manner and everything else like that, protect it. Let's remember the temporary protection status was not founded during the Obama presidency. It's been around since 1990, right? So it's been around since Democratic, Republican presidents, Bush and so on and so forth, right? So it's very, very disappointing, very disheartening, but not surprising that Supreme Court decided to go ahead and gut it and in so doing. Mark Hayes (04:20.959) Right. Herve Francois (04:31.959) sending back 350,000 Haitians and everything else like that. They refuse to go ahead and do work on anything to give a pathway to citizenship, right? Just work on it. What's a framework like, a pathway to citizenship? And it's some... Wow, some of these folks in Congress, when you now hear what they are proposing since Supreme Court, and this is kind of now transitioning to birthright, because it's not the same, but you can understand how it falls under the greater umbrella in regards to our immigration policy, temporary protection status, birthright citizenship. So it's part A, part B, if you will. Mark Hayes (05:21.46) Yep. Herve Francois (05:23.235) right citizenship you know as I was talking to Brock before we went live you know just talking about how this has been an amendment 14th amendment has been tested and tested over and over again you know it seems you know maybe who knows that the next time someone tries to bring it up to the Supreme Court they will go ahead and end it but this time they chose again not to end it not to gut it and everything else like that because they felt that it was in black and white some the majority but not all that listen if if you come here, parents, legally or illegally, and your child is born here, US citizen, and so on and so forth. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mark Hayes (06:02.055) Irve, Irve, you know, talk talk to me about how people in the Haitian community feel. What are people thinking? Are people afraid? Are people saying fuck this, we're not leaving? Like what help us take the temperature. Herve Francois (06:17.224) What? Yeah, you know, listen, Mark, there was a lot of fear amongst Haitians that were here on TPS before the Supreme Court rules. Well, a good friend of mine that I had gone to college with many, many years ago is an immigration attorney here in New Jersey. And majority of his clients are Haitians and Latinos that have crossed into the country, many of them legally, many of them legally. But again, could be under temporary protection status. they were in the process of getting a visa or getting a green card, whatever it might be, right? But this administration just keeps on blocking those attempts over and over and over again. So it was fear building for months, Mark, that the Supreme Court was going to vote this way. It did not come as a surprise. It came as a disappointment. It didn't come as a surprise. Even though it came out as a surprise, folks are angry. Folks are sad. Folks are disappointed. Now it's a matter of going ahead and enforcing the deportation of these 350,000 Haitians. Syrians was also included in this. don't know the number on the Syrians, but they were also included in this. Brock Ganeles (07:33.784) So is this ICE? ICE's job is going to be to round up anyone who doesn't leave voluntarily? Herve Francois (07:38.464) test. I would suspect it would land on ICE's doorstep, that it would be their responsibility. I have not heard anything specific to that, but if it was gonna be any particular agency's responsibility that falls under DHS and specifically that within ICE. So I think those would be the one. And like I said, man, was sad. I never thought it was gonna be held up under this administration. Folks do not want to go back to Haiti. The country is really pockets of it. are in a real, real, real, real mess right now, right? A lot of violence, a lot of gang violence, really no solid political foundation or infrastructure in place in the country right now. They need help. If there's any groups of people that are fleeing their country because that country is rife with violence and instability, it's Haiti. It's not South Africa where he wants to bring in another 10,000. Brock Ganeles (08:34.03) I mean, we used to be we used to be a place that would welcome people in that situation. Do you think do you think some of the Haitian community are going to try to like hide out hang in for two years and hope the administration turns over or is that? Mark Hayes (08:35.289) Right. Right. Right. Herve Francois (08:47.445) I wouldn't be surprised. I'll tell you what right now, they're a very, very resilient group of people. and they've been resilient through this all in all. But to answer your question directly, I would not be surprised. I would not be surprised, right? They're going to try to do things for, they go their way, make their argument, case their argument, hire immigration attorneys to fight their case that they've been here for a certain amount of time. Kind of a thing. Yeah, it's like, hey, listen, I already been here for five years. What are you doing with me? You have to try to send me back right now. It's like, I haven't committed a crime. I'm employed. Brock Ganeles (09:10.496) and delay delay, right? Mark Hayes (09:12.499) Yeah. Mark Hayes (09:16.326) Right. Brock Ganeles (09:20.654) So, yeah. Herve Francois (09:24.559) you know, what's going on here. Mark Hayes (09:28.314) But but see the last thing we can expect, and and Brock can always speak to this, is any kind of compassion from them, right, Brock? I mean, we've talked ad nausea about their lack of compassion, lack of feeling for their fellow men and and and you know and and the human instinct that that we've seen kick in with the arrival of the rest of the world. Herve Francois (09:39.305) for hope. Mark Hayes (09:58.073) Right? We've seen the rest of the world embrace each other. Like you've seen soccer fans from opposing countries loving each other and hugging on each other. And what's the one image we always see in mainstream media, right? Soccer riots in other parts of the world. Right? We haven't seen any of that shit. Right? We've seen the love for your fellow man, your fellow human being. And that what the world Herve Francois (10:00.565) you Mark Hayes (10:27.425) Is a bad Brock Ganeles (10:28.44) So on this topic, being that we're so welcoming to the world, being that we have this absolutely phenomenal multicultural exchange program going on, right, in our country, where we're embracing the world and the world is just homaging America, in Canada and Mexico, but primarily America, at least on my feed, maybe, my biased feed. Herve Francois (10:28.478) I was. Mark Hayes (10:42.084) And that's what the world is about. Mark Hayes (10:54.133) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (10:55.682) Is there any and we'll get to democratic socialist movement in a second. But is there any way that this combination of activity that's going on in the country is going to lead some politician, some element of some party, which would have to be the Democrats to actually talk about a pro immigration policy? Like right now our policy is we're kicking everyone the fuck out of here. But let's be honest, when the Democrats were in power, we didn't exactly push through pro-immigration legislation. In fact, I can't remember ever hearing positivity towards immigrants in my entire lifetime. I guess I'll throw that out to either of you guys. Is it possible? Are we going to hear anyone getting on the stump saying we want immigrants, we embrace immigration? Herve Francois (11:20.009) Yes. Yeah. Mark Hayes (11:24.141) Three. Mark Hayes (11:38.262) Right. Mark Hayes (11:47.594) No. I'm sorry, Brock, I had to do it to you. Herve Francois (11:48.062) No, we're not, we're not gonna, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you know, match is over on championship day, July 19th, everybody's going to be going home, right? And so there's another 18 days, right, for all these foreigners visiting our country for the World Cup, you know, to be here 18 days and then they're gone, right? The immigrants, we know, the immigrants are not gone. The immigrants are coming here and they're trying to stay. Those are the ones, unfortunately, that MAGA and Republicans are trying to get out and everything else like that. You've already saw some of the backlash, some of the... the ideas that some of these far right wing politicians are thinking about in regards to banning foreign women that are pregnant into the country. Like what the, who were we becoming, man? What the hell is going on? Banning foreign women that are pregnant from coming into the country, putting a 10 year ban on anybody coming into the, you know, it's just look, you know, guys, I know that we like, to talk about these topics in silos, but they do bleed one into the other because this is all fueling the damn democratic socialist movement and you can't tell me it's not. It's what the fuck happens when the pendulum swings so far one way and now you're beginning to see it swing the other way. That's why these discussions, they're not in silos. People are sick of that. This is what you're proposing? Banning foreign that are pregnant from coming into the country? Well then you damn right I'm gonna vote a guy that says we need to give free childcare to kids that are two years or younger. And when he did, successfully, in a short six months, did the world come to an end? Did billionaires flee New York City down to Florida? Did businesses, did Wall Street firms and advertising firms Herve Francois (13:59.4) and fashion firms leave New York City in droves and set up their headquarters in Texas or Georgia or Florida. No, they're still partying in New York City. The Knicks still had their party. Kids got free childcare. People are still going out for dinner and drinks tonight on a thirsty Thursday tomorrow night. There's no damn problem. But they lose their minds when you recommend Mark Hayes (14:17.061) Yeah. Herve Francois (14:28.859) Ideas like this and they're gonna slap the word socialist and radical leftist and communist at the dawn of Fox News blah blah blah crap Mark Hayes (14:36.782) Yeah. Herve Francois (14:38.293) But you did this to yourself, You did this. And I'm not sitting here saying that I'm the biggest fan of the pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other. I'm sitting here saying, that's how physics works. That's how physics works. It was bound to happen. Because people are sick of Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. Mark Hayes (14:57.308) Yep. Mark Hayes (15:05.298) Yeah. Herve Francois (15:05.557) They're in an AOC, they're gonna take in a Mondami and the folks that he went ahead and supported that just got elected, as well as these leftist progressives in Colorado that got elected yesterday. What did you expect to happen? So all of these terms you keep on using, communism, socialism, radical left, my God, we're gonna have go with the free job here. You're gonna be screaming about this for years. Mark Hayes (15:23.965) The boogeyman socialist. Herve Francois (15:30.015) We're seeing this movement happening on the local level. We're seeing it happen on the state level. The million dollar question is probably more than a million dollar question. Can it happen on the national level? Brock Ganeles (15:41.775) Well, let me ask this question. One of the criticisms of democratic socialism is that when people go to meetings, they say it's a bunch of white faces. Is Black America, based on the policies that we've seen thus far, will Black America align with the democratic socialists? Mark Hayes (16:00.029) Take a look at the Knicks parade. Who was out there, Brock? Brock Ganeles (16:08.942) Tyler Koulich. Mark Hayes (16:11.056) Tyler Koelick was out there. He got racially profiled too. But but look who was out there. Brock Ganeles (16:13.454) Getting, getting coughed. Okay, so is that your way, is that your way of answering yes? Mark Hayes (16:22.973) That's my way of saying yes. Brock Ganeles (16:24.43) Because I'm not sure all these circles have aligned yet. I think they're going to. I think there's still some jockeying going on, but you guys tell me. Mark Hayes (16:32.528) Hit the brakes. Mark Hayes (16:37.158) Brock, I don't think so. You know why? This is where Black America lives. Brock, we got 300,000 unemployed African American women, the most educated segment of society. We've got an over incarceration problem with our black men. We've got an under education problem in our urban schools, right? These so-called socialist boogeyman policies are addressing those issues. They're addressing jobs. They're addressing education. They're addressing food deserts and and the lack of quality foods. So they're addressing affordability. Who struggles more, Brock, in America with affordability than Black America? Brock Ganeles (17:17.868) And affordability, of course, of course, right? Brock Ganeles (17:28.694) I'm with you natural allies. was just asking the question of whether it are there any impediments between the groups or is that just where black America has been the whole time? And it's like, thanks for fucking thanks for joining our party. What are you, you know, not meaning not political party, more of our. Herbie, what do you think? Mark Hayes (17:41.774) We've been there. Mark Hayes (17:50.082) Right. I no, I I know I know what you're saying. Herve Francois (17:53.79) You know, man... Brock, I know you're looking for an answer and I was sitting here and unfortunately I have to tell you, excuse me, I think time will tell. Mark, I understand everything that you're saying. It should be a, if you will, natural transition for African Americans in this country to adopt the democratic socialist movement. It should be a natural transition when you hear about the campaign policies that these democratic socialists, that they campaign on things. Mark Hayes (18:18.673) Right. Herve Francois (18:26.103) that mandami campaign on and so on and so forth, right? They should just naturally be attracted to, know, of African-Americans in this country that are struggling, they're having a difficult time. African-American women like Mark was talking about and so on and so forth. listen, movements take time before they are accepted. And that's why I'm saying to you that time will tell. The movement is... The movement is happening now, but the seeds had been planted years ago. And now water has been added to that seed and you're beginning to see the flower come up from the roots. And mandami is an example of that flower, right? That seed had been planted, the seed of mandami had been planted years ago and people added water to it, right? And you can argue that Trump himself added water to that seed based off a lot of his policies where at the end of the day, people are like, yo bro, my man, what the F you just gonna only care about the billionaire? That's it. This part of our society is what you're live for for the next four years Give me a damn break. I know you live them. I know you love them I get it I get it, but you got to be able to help somebody else pick a group any group White men white women you shutting everybody out Wonder why folks ain't showing up to your goddamn street fair. So so Mark Hayes (19:52.437) Word. Herve Francois (19:59.712) then this is what I mean by the pendulum swinging. Now, Brock, you asking, hey, are African Americans, are they going to jump onto this pendulum as it swings way to the left? I think some will, because again, like I said before, natural transition, I think others, they gotta think it out. Should I hitch my wagon to Hakeem Jeffries? Mark Hayes (20:27.059) Nope. Herve Francois (20:27.581) a younger version of Chuck Schumer. But Mark, as you say no, and I understand why you say no, I don't know if a lot of African-Americans have come to that decision yet as quickly as you have. Do you see what I'm saying? I think they should make a quick decision because I think people like Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, they have had plenty of time. You guys have had the keys to the gates for a long, long time. Mark Hayes (20:32.927) Yeah. Mark Hayes (20:54.835) Well, let me push back, Herve. Herve Francois (20:56.537) And Bill Parcell said a long time ago, Brock knows where I'm going with this, you are what the scoreboard says you are. And Jefferson Schumer, your scoreboard is not looking good right now. Looking good right now. Mark Hayes (21:03.017) As you are. Mark Hayes (21:10.249) Well well Irve, how how how did all those folks that voted for Mandami get there so quickly? Because they got there in a hurry. They got to the booth. Yeah. He didn't Herve Francois (21:18.089) talk about his supporters, his voters? think, well, that's my point, Mark. Those guys are the seeds. That's my point. Those folks have been there the whole time. And they have been experiencing, they have been going through the struggle. They have been crying from the mountaintop. Hey guys, it's hard out here. It's tough out here. It's tough to afford bus transportation. It's tough to afford childcare service. It's tough to afford education for our kids. Medicare is on a freaking life support right now. They just passed this bill a year ago that gutted it. That gutted Medicare. What do you want in the first 30 days of his presidency? He cut a check for 40. Mark Hayes (22:02.528) Yeah. Right. Herve Francois (22:10.409) billion dollars to the country of Argentina. What do we get for it in return? And you're tell me that we got no money for Medicare. So all I'm saying is I'm watching this unveil. I just wanna be very clear. People say, everybody's a leftist democratic socialist. No, I'm a realist that's watching this movie take place, nonfiction, in real life. And I see this pendulum going from over here, passing the center, and making its way over here. And if you didn't want to pass the center, then you shouldn't have fucked people over with the bill last year. Well, how do you expect people to respond? They have to live. I'm not talking about criminals. I'm not talking about people coming here illegally. I'm talking about people over here that are busting their ass, holding down not one, but two or three jobs, a couple of kids, paying their taxes, going to school. Mark Hayes (22:44.176) Yeah. Herve Francois (23:06.101) doing everything that you're told to forget about being able to afford purchasing your first single family home. That's how that ship's sailed. American dream is no longer, that's an American nightmare. That is no longer an American dream. Average price of a single family home in the United States of America is $450,000. Average age of a first time home buyer for a single family home is 38 years old. That ship has sailed. Mark Hayes (23:19.954) It ain't having it. It ain't happening, baby. Herve Francois (23:36.435) So what do you want to do? Mark Hayes (23:37.049) Bad. Brock Ganeles (23:37.087) So you're going to say you agree with most of the policies, but you don't care about being labeled, you don't care about the label or whether or not your hand is up to say that you're truly a part of that movement. Because to me, I actually don't really know the difference between a democratic socialist and being a progressive. It just seems like the same policies to me. Herve Francois (23:43.669) I understand why. Herve Francois (24:01.813) Let's take a, I literally went to go, I didn't mean to interrupt Brock, but I literally went to Google on Monday to look up the definition of socialists. Right, they throw it around, they throw it around, they throw it around. Maybe I'm missing something. So I'm not afraid of educating myself. I'm a grown ass man, but I'm not afraid of educating myself. But the government owns 10 % of Intel Corporation. Brock Ganeles (24:05.603) Yeah, that's right. Herve Francois (24:31.157) That's a form of socialism. Under the definition, that is a form of socialism. We own percentages now of publicly traded companies. That's taxpayer dollars, by the way. Taxpayer dollars. I don't get a dividend check, though. It's I'll just take it. All that means, but that's an example, right? When you start talking about Mark Hayes (24:32.986) Hmm. That's weird. Mark Hayes (24:38.554) That's weird. Mark Hayes (24:44.602) Yeah. Mark Hayes (24:52.939) No. Nope. I haven't gotten one. Herve Francois (25:01.129) the government taking positions, stakes in companies, right? That this administration is doing on a very proactive basis. It's not just lining his pockets, using government money to take these positions and so on and so forth. So what the country slings around the word socialism, there's been... Mark Hayes (25:17.22) Yeah. Herve Francois (25:27.445) corporate welfare in our country for decades. And I'm okay with it because it supports the growth of our industries. It does support the growth of semiconductor industry. It does support the growth of pharmaceutical industry. It does support the growth of the farming industry and the food industry and the automobile industry and so on and so forth. As soon as you decide to give corporation a tax cut so they can grow, I'm in support of it, but you can't tell me that's not welfare. You can't tell me that's not socialism. Brock Ganeles (26:00.163) Yeah, but they also get it and we don't ask anything back. yeah, we don't ask anything about the electric car industry wouldn't have taken off without subsidies and solar panels. Like so many industries need space. Let's face it, the oil and gas industry has been getting subsidies and breaks and the protection of the American military for the entire time that they've been in business. Herve Francois (26:03.477) That's the thing, when we get out the law of the country. Herve Francois (26:21.685) So therefore, by textbook definition, that is not true capitalism because you need a handout, you need support. I'm not against support. I'm just saying it's not capitalism. Let's call it what it is. That's what I'm saying. So what the Republicans have done extremely well, as they do extremely well, is using marketing and labeling and advertising to boost their narrative. And so what they're doing is, and this is what you're going to hear over the next couple of years, Mark Hayes (26:36.738) Right. Brock Ganeles (26:44.77) Yeah, hijack the words. Mark Hayes (26:47.81) Yeah. Herve Francois (26:51.271) socialism, communism, Fox News type stuff. What's that? Left radical, all that other nonsense. But then when you peel back the onions, what are they really talking about? Hmm, free childcare for kids under two years old. Is it gonna lose sleep over this? Like is it gonna break and gank? Brock Ganeles (27:05.934) School lunches. Yeah, school lunches. School lunches. We have a trillionaire and we're gonna fight about school lunches. I don't think they're gonna win the socialism word salad argument this time. I think socialism has developed a better brand over time. Herve Francois (27:17.468) Snap, snap. Brock Ganeles (27:28.492) And I think because of the egregious nature of the Trump administration has made it seem not so bad because it's like, wow, socialism so bad. Well, you're going to tell me the way things are right now is good. You know, it was really good spokesman for it is Jamal Bowman, who was in Congress, got voted out, but he's a real good spokesman for the policies of the democratic socialists. And he's the one that led me to believe that it's going to be a natural partnership and that really black America is going to be. Mark Hayes (27:44.312) huh. Mark Hayes (27:54.121) Right. Brock Ganeles (27:58.369) leaders of this movement because right now it's a lot of Muslims that are the actual representatives. that the Democratic, that are winning these democratic socialists, but really it's a melting pot. It's a Latino woman. It's a, you know, Mamdami. don't even, I don't exactly know what it is. And you know, the DC mayor is a black woman. She's, or the one who's likely to become DC mayor is a black woman who identifies as democratic socialist. And I just think AOC ultimately to me is the queen of democratic socialism. Herve Francois (28:29.961) That's what I'm saying. Mark Hayes (28:30.347) Well, and and here's the thing though, guys, I I believe. you know. In order to win massive, massive election, to have a massive election sweep, we've gotta win the word salad game, right? The Republicans have been winning this battle, you know, since what, the beginning of time, since the beginning of television. We've gotta be what what I like what we're doing now is we're taking the word socialist and saying, all it really means, right? I know what the definition says, but what it really means is Herve Francois (28:53.429) Is that right? Mark Hayes (29:05.246) We've got common sense policies that help everyday Americans. That's what socialist means to us. I don't care what you think it fucking means and what Fox News says it means, right? Because Fox News wants you to believe it's them getting handouts from you. You good white Americans are busting your ass every day, and then the others are taking from you. All your hard work is for naught. Because they're gonna get freebies while they sit on their home, watch cable TV, they're able to buy soda pop at the grocery store with the welfare money that you give them, which couldn't be further from the fucking truth. And so until we take away right their ability to paint this picture and this narrative, right, we're not gonna be able to get the massive wins that we need in Congress. Herve Francois (29:49.013) Listen, Mark Hayes (30:02.867) to effectuate the kind of change that needs to take place after this fuckery we've witnessed for going on six years now. What's that y'all? Herve Francois (30:12.149) Mark, know, the thing is that it's unfortunate. Herve Francois (30:22.953) That we are not helping out folks that really need help and other end of the stick and so on and forth. It's not a missed opportunity within capitalism that the capitalistic society cannot help out people that are oppressed, that down on their luck and so on and so forth. It is a mindset and it is a choice. We have chosen this administration under this capitalist system not to help certain folks deliberately. And we put it in by laws, right? To the veterans, to the senior citizens, to people of color, to women. That is a decision. that we made under the capitalist system. It's not the fault of the capitalist system. It's the decision of the people that are running the capitalist system, that have the power in their hands. We're not gonna help these people. We're gonna help only the wealthy. We're not gonna help these people. We're gonna only help the damn wealthy. So then a person like Madami comes around and says, we're gonna do the free this, free that, and everything. he's a democratic socialist and he proudly calls himself a freaking democratic socialist. Well, it's not really a socialism movement. Mark Hayes (31:38.211) Yeah. Herve Francois (31:41.866) that can help out folks that need help. A capitalist system can also help out people that need Obama helped out a lot of people that needed help under a capitalistic system. It's how you choose to do it. Let take healthcare. Let talk about the World Cup. We got people in here from all over the world representing countries and you look at the healthcare policies of those countries, my God. And you sit here and you wonder, why can't we get this right? Mark Hayes (31:42.225) Yep. Mark Hayes (32:11.28) Yeah. Herve Francois (32:11.541) Now, you can potentially blame our capitalistic system for that because we got these pharma companies, it's about the bottom dollar, we got these healthcare insurance companies, it's about their bottom dollar, we got these hospitals, it's about their bottom dollar and so on and so forth. But my thing is this, let's look at the situation that we're in. Our society is aging. The fastest growing part of our country right now is the senior citizen. Our people are aging. We're pushing out immigrants through all kinds of policies and all kinds of laws and written bills and everything. We're pushing out immigrants. You're going to have a gap in your workforce. You're going to, it's going to happen. It's going to happen. Where do you expect our population is in decline? Where do you think workers are going to come from? man, where do you think workers are going to come from? So then you're going to go ahead and you're going to screw people on healthcare and you screw people on healthcare. It's, it's, it's a racial thing more than anything else. It's like, Mark Hayes (33:05.561) Yeah. Herve Francois (33:11.889) Okay, had anyone stopped to think, maybe, maybe if we subsidize the living the heck out of healthcare, we go ahead and we support all kinds of healthcare programs to keep our citizens, to keep our residents healthy, they therefore can become those folks that are going to contribute as labor. to continue to help this economy grow for years and years to come. But no, you're gonna have people get sick, you're gonna have people that die. The society is aging, you're pushing out immigrants. People are having children, if they are at all, at a much, much older age. Where the hell are the workers going to come from? It is not different than any other country in the world. We're talking about human. People, bodies that are gonna be needed in the seats of factories. You wanna bring manufacturing back into United States. Who's gonna work into those factories, my man? Mark Hayes (34:22.72) Hm, it's a good question. Brock Ganeles (34:24.48) I mean, I think the tech bros would argue that they're going to replace all the workers with their technology, right? That's their argument. Robotics and all that. It's bullshit. I don't believe it. Like to me, it's typical. They're probably a hundred years ahead of their time, but like they're in the business of, you know, being visionaries slash bullshitting us so that they can raise money. so I get that, but there is that, you know, technology, Peter Thiel, Andreessen, Theocrus Zuckerberg. Herve Francois (34:29.397) But this isn't going to be a lot of spam or real life. No. No. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (34:54.198) Musk theorists that feel that that's one argument that we don't need these other people because technology is going to replace them all. But you also laid out a very capitalistic view of why you need socialized healthcare. You need it because you need the workers. It was kind of a selfish view that you need to keep your people healthy so that they can be productive. Mark Hayes (35:10.99) Sure. Yeah. Herve Francois (35:20.425) No sh- Brock Ganeles (35:20.806) And therefore you can have the best economy in the world and that if you don't take care of your people slash your workers, your economic engine is going to go into decline. Herve Francois (35:26.227) and rock if you don't do that. and Brock if you don't, that racism is really, really expensive position to take. Sexism is a very expensive position and a platform to adopt. If that is what you want to lead with on everything that matters in this country, you're gonna have a gap, man. Things are not going to be able to sustain. Mark Hayes (35:31.101) Yeah. Herve Francois (35:57.866) The billionaires don't want the burden of this economy. They're not going to be able to sustain it. They will leave quicker if you ask them to sustain on their own shoulders versus if you tell them, hey, we gotta go ahead and give free childcare to kids under two years old. Mark Hayes (36:16.671) Yeah. Herve Francois (36:19.615) Fuck out of here, man. you're gonna leave New York City and move out and go to Florida. Mark Hayes (36:26.783) Yeah right. You ain't going no damn where. Brock Ganeles (36:28.77) A lot of those Haitians that are going to get deported are currently doing like healthcare work. Herve Francois (36:34.805) workers. Mark Hayes (36:34.805) Black Jabs. Are they doing black jobs or black jobs? Brock Ganeles (36:39.534) Black jobs. They are, they're doing tough jobs, Many others don't want like all, you know, like all immigrants end up doing. Herve Francois (36:44.895) I was mad at doing that there. Mark Hayes (36:49.524) But and Rock, how do you hey look, we we talk about AI and all the jobs it's gonna take. AI ain't driving no trucks, AI ain't stocking no shelves. Herve Francois (36:50.741) instruction. Brock Ganeles (37:01.282) Well, I ain't going to an elderly person's house and helping them survive for the next day, like all the home health care and all that. Mark Hayes (37:06.119) Not at all. Herve Francois (37:07.061) What about our construction industry? That's why this... That's why... Yeah! Mark Hayes (37:11.173) AI can't build no roads and bridges. Brock Ganeles (37:12.942) You can't build shit. Well, yeah, it's like the farmers shot themselves in the foot wanting to get rid of all the Mexicans and now they bitch and complain and they're asking for handouts because they're all going bankrupt. And I think a lot of, you know, I've seen some, some clips of factory owners saying, Hey, Haitians are our best workers and now I'm going to lose them all. And I don't know how I'm going to replace them. Herve Francois (37:23.561) Yeah. Herve Francois (37:34.471) And you don't have an immigration policy out there that will help support and drive our economic engine. So what are you going to do? Brock Ganeles (37:47.535) How come going on the left has come up with a pro-immigrant immigration policy and put it under the guise of an economic growth plan for America? Herve Francois (37:59.978) Yeah. Mark Hayes (38:00.95) Brock, I'm starting to think they don't want to. I'm starting to think that these Democrats are part of the same racist ilk that we're dealing with on the other side. I mean Herve Francois (38:11.635) Remember the bipartisan agreement. Brock Ganeles (38:13.332) and or they're afraid of the voters but it gets you to the same place gets you the same place Herve Francois (38:16.981) There was a bipartisan agreement on Biden's desk and Trump told them, what are we in 2026? He told them in February, 2023, don't you dare, don't you dare sign that bill. Don't you dare sign that bill because this is what I'm going to be running my campaign on. Mark Hayes (38:17.073) Right. Right. Mark Hayes (38:33.979) Yep, see? Mark Hayes (38:39.494) So, you know, look, you know, Brock, we talked about this the other day. How, you know, the party is here and the leadership is over here, trying to pull us back to the center. We don't want to be in the center. We want to be as far left as fucking possible. And either you come with us or we vote you the fuck out. That's what happened in Colorado, where this democratic socialist won me lot. That's where she won. That's why she won. Because we need to be over here. Furthest to the left. So we want the candidate that's gonna take us as far left as we can go. Because healthcare, universal health care, childcare, affordable groceries, affordable gas are not radical policies. The affordability issue is getting laughed at by Trump on a daily, right? Because Jared and Jarvanka are over here, you know, getting a billion dollar, you know, island. Herve Francois (39:31.369) Yeah, he does a good Mark Hayes (39:39.023) Fucking, you know, resort built that they're dealing with protesters. That's their issue, right? They're struggling with that. They could give a fuck about how we're feeding our kids over here. Affordability is not a radical concept, but it's way over here to the left. And our leadership needs to stop fucking trying to pull us to the center of those two fucking clowns out in the diner in Iowa because we don't give a fuck about them. They're probably triple Trumpers. And we need to get this shit done. And the rest of Amer we need to get back outside, like Jada Kiss said, and get these votes done in November. Herve Francois (40:18.933) We got a bipartisan housing bill. He doesn't want to sign it. Housing affordability bill, bipartisan. Doesn't want to sign it. Mark Hayes (40:22.851) No. Yep. doesn't want to sign it. He wants people and he and he's about the suffering. He's all about us suffering. That's why he's doing what he's doing to the Haitian community, because he wants him to suffer. He's all about the pain and and and the just the nastiness. He's a nasty man. Right? And and and you know we've had racist presidents before but nobody has come out on Front Street like this. Herve Francois (40:38.773) Yeah. Mark Hayes (40:57.877) And and just created, you know, everybody else did their shit in the back room, right? Tried to keep it a secret. This fucking guy wants to, you know, literally, you know, promote his racism and bring everybody on board. That's how he ran his candidacy. Why do why do we it's expect anything different? Fuck him, man. And fuck anybody else supporting him. Brock Ganeles (41:28.046) I'm not going to ask you this time what it's going to take for you to get out and protest with old white people because I think we've leapfrogged that step of the process. We used to not know what the message was or who the leaders were going to be. And we started saying the leaders are probably going to come up from the streets, not from the top down. But now we know what the message is. Democratic socialists have delivered the message. Herve Francois (41:32.661) Why not? Mark Hayes (41:36.304) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (41:56.383) And the leadership is coming from the ground up and it's very lesser known people. Mumdami and AOC, probably the two biggest names in it. She's been there all along. He's emerged. He's giving a speech on Friday. Look, keep an eye on that. Because I think he's going to spell out the democratic socialist movement in a broader sense. Mark Hayes (42:00.661) Mm-hmm. Herve Francois (42:12.405) Mmm. Mark Hayes (42:13.131) yeah. You've been going hard too. Brock Ganeles (42:20.334) So I'm not gonna ask because I know black people will be out there on the streets, because Jadica said everyone's gonna be outside. And I saw a whole lot of black people celebrating the Knicks championship and partying up on the World Cup thing. So I don't think it's gonna be protests in America. I think it's this outbreak of exuberance and joy that is positively motivating America across racial and cultural lines. And I think when the, if, If and when the day comes that we do have to protest, I think everyone is already out there. What do you think? Herve Francois (43:00.047) Yeah, listen man, it's a heck of a movement and I think it resonates with so many people across so many racial lines and genders because it just makes sense, man. It is a simple message. It's a message that people can embrace. It's a message we're not gutting our cities or states or national governments in order to pass any of these things in. Tax rates, well, taxes are always going to get impacted one way or another. And it's all about where the money is spent when you're talking about increasing taxes. Are we to spend, another trillion dollars to our defense? They need money, no doubt about it. They need a budget. Are we going to go ahead and gut Medicare? We're going to go ahead and gut Social Security. and so on and so forth. Good climate. So it's all about the Democrats. Look, you give Democrats a trillion dollars. they're gonna spend the way they feel best to be spent. You give Republicans a trillion dollars, they also are gonna spend that trillion dollars in the best manner they feel it needs to be spent. No one is ever gonna say, we're not gonna spend a trillion dollars. There used to be a time, perhaps Republicans used to say that, because they used to be the party of conservatism and everything else like that, and tight purses and balancing budget. No, that's not the case. And they never balanced the budget, by the way, right? So it's just... I think intuitively it makes sense and I have to go back to what I was saying before in regards to the pendulum swinging. When you look at all these statistics, you look at the odds, you see the level of primary and secondary education in this country, right? And how we have fallen behind. We're one of the top countries in the world for collegiate education. When it comes to primary and secondary, we are absolutely horrible relative to Herve Francois (45:00.457) other countries around the world. We know that needs to improve. We know access to healthcare needs to improve. We know that there needs to be something that has to be addressed in regards to climate control and so on and so forth, right? Taking care of families. I mean, these things are just... We're talking about damn near basic human needs that I think has been left behind by this party. And I think that's why whether you are a southern white person or a poor northern black person, man or woman, anywhere in between, Asian, Latino, you're realizing it's hard out here. and it's going to only get tougher. It's gonna get tougher for small business owners. It's gonna get tougher for individuals. You got unemployment rate as high as that it's been in the past three years. It is an extremely difficult time. And look, again, democratic socialist movement, I think a lot of people that for years have supported the democratic center movement, if you will, they waited patiently, sat on their hands and listened as one politician after another, the local state and national office said, we're gonna deliver for you, we're gonna deliver for you, and they hadn't delivered. Mark Hayes (46:27.729) I don't have to make anyone. Herve Francois (46:32.519) and folks are just genuinely sick and tired. I've seen this movie before, Definition of Insanity, expecting the same thing over and over, expecting a different stuff, and they're tired of it. And they're like, why not try AOC? Why not try Mondami? How worse can it get? Let's see if he delivers. And if Mondami doesn't deliver, then we're not gonna vote Mondami in again. But so far. Mark Hayes (46:40.432) Hello. Herve Francois (47:01.909) But so far, I'm like, oh, wait a minute. This dude is delivering on things that people were crying bloody murder on just seven months ago. Oh my God, New York will never be the same again. New York is fine. New York is just fine. New York is chilling. Brock Ganeles (47:03.107) Yeah. Mark Hayes (47:12.486) Yeah. Mark Hayes (47:16.753) New York is chilling. Herve Francois (47:23.273) New Yorkers have been a good, but the only time that New York energy in New York got sacked, only because Cardi B told me, was when that dude showed up for game three. Mark Hayes (47:33.384) Ha ha Herve Francois (47:35.188) Carl B said the energy just felt sapped in here. He's right. And then when he left, that energy came right back. I was texting on the last game, saying to game five, I'm texting a good friend of mine. Mark Hayes (47:40.251) Sucked it out of the room. Mark Hayes (47:45.936) Yeah. Herve Francois (47:55.146) her and her husband from San Antonio, they're at the game in San Antonio. I said, I'm feeling good about it, I the Knicks are gonna win. She said, no, San Antonio, Victor's gonna have a great game and all this other stuff. And then everything else like that. End of the game, Knicks win. Of course, I sent her a text giving her a little rib. I told you so, the Knicks are the best in the world. All this other stuff. And she sent me a crying emoji and everything else like that. Then she sent me a text. It didn't help. that 70 % of the fans here in the stadium were Knicks fans. said, seven out of 10? Seven out of 10? I said, oh my God, we Knicks fans. So anyway, I just listen. I'm not surprised that we're here, bro. Mark Hayes (48:25.817) Não, sai. Brock Ganeles (48:26.978) So. Mark Hayes (48:31.887) Hehehehe Herve Francois (48:40.157) Are African-Americans going to jump onto that pendulum? I think some already have. I think some will. think, okay, if we want to segment the African-American population, I definitely believe young African-Americans will. My sister is only eight years younger than me, but she's been on that bandwagon, the AOC, and now Mondami Bandwagon for a while, and she has just turned 50 years old. Mark Hayes (49:03.471) He is the Herve Francois (49:10.172) You are going to see it's already happened. I definitely believe it's taken. Brock Ganeles (49:12.908) Are your kids in touch with it? Are your kids aware and engaged with what's going on? Your kids, the younger generation. Herve Francois (49:17.927) Is who? I'm sorry? My kids, yes, yes, for Mondami. Listen, he's closer in age to them than a shoe. Why? Yeah. He's 34. And my son is 25, you know? So he's nine years older than my son. it's like, you know, just seeing Mondami freaking playing hoops at the New York freaking schoolyards with the kids, and he's shooting the hoops, and he's jumping in the... Yeah, that's a kick out a little bit of a game. Brock Ganeles (49:28.27) And us. Then us. Yeah, what is he, 34? Shit. Mark Hayes (49:31.416) Yeah. Mark Hayes (49:37.208) Right. Brock Ganeles (49:43.714) He's not bad. Herve Francois (49:47.54) So I'm like, you know, I'm like, hey, I can't tell my kids, you you have to follow the path of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jabb. They don't resonate to them. And they have had their chance. I saw Schumer was, Schumer was. Mark Hayes (49:58.667) Nope. Yeah. And they blew it. Brock Ganeles (50:06.926) Well, we were wondering when the young people would get engaged and maybe, is the time now? Is it happening now? Herve Francois (50:10.945) But this is what I think. It happened when Mondawin was running. amount of about 50,000, was it, volunteers freely just showed up to help campaign for him, right? Young folks, young folks. And if you want young folks in politics, that's what doing. I mean, that's what it is. So I don't, like I said, I don't have a problem with it. If young folks, Mark Hayes (50:28.173) In the rainbow. Folks in the rainbow. Herve Francois (50:40.051) white, black, Latino, if they wanna jump on that bandwagon of democratic socialists, I don't have a problem, I'm not surprised that they are doing it. I don't have a problem that they're doing it. It is where we are and it's where we should expect to be because you went ahead deliberately and put your foot on the neck of people for too long. Mark Hayes (50:45.611) Come on down. Mark Hayes (51:07.577) Yeah. Herve Francois (51:08.263) And now that they are beginning to rise from the floor, this is the response that they're giving you. What did you expect to happen? Mark Hayes (51:16.566) Yeah. Mark Hayes (51:21.907) Yeah. Herve Francois (51:23.029) I mean, just now, here's the thing and time will tell and this might be, you know, discussion for another segment. But what does a... You you talk about like a big pot of soup, right? And all kind of ingredients going to make it real tasty and delicious and healthy and everything else, all kinds of spices and everything else like that. What is in this big pot that we are beginning to call democratic socialism? We hear things as free healthcare. We hear things such as free and or subsidized education. Mark Hayes (51:58.339) Mm-hmm. Herve Francois (52:07.093) Right. But what else is included? What is their position on immigration? We may know what their position on immigration is. What is their solution, if you will, or one of their solutions on creating immigration policy for this country? Right. Mark Hayes (52:07.112) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (52:22.566) Right. They don't got no answers. Right. Brock Ganeles (52:28.59) I'm waiting to hear it. know, no one likes to talk about an immigration because it worries it miles up the racist and it gets MAGA in essence engaged. So the Democrats stay away from it far too often. Herve Francois (52:31.964) And last. Herve Francois (52:38.675) Lastly, I will- Mark Hayes (52:39.602) Yeah. Herve Francois (52:42.653) And not only immigration, I'll leave it here for you guys, and again, we can talk about here, we talk about Israel. Brock Ganeles (52:51.006) I was going to, it's a whole nother topic. I think there's a bigger, well, democratic socialism is based on, a, you know, I don't want to call it anti-Israel. It's quasi anti-Israel. It's definitely anti-America supporting Israel at all cost. Herve Francois (52:52.277) Cause I like when they speak it up. Woo! They speak it up. Mark Hayes (52:54.142) Yeah. Herve Francois (53:12.627) That's yes. Brock Ganeles (53:13.326) It's definitely a stepping back from support of Israel or putting guardrails around support of Israel. And, you know, well, the next is this is a topic for another discussion, which is where are where Jews can end up? Are they going to go to the Republican Party? Are they going to stay in Democratic Party? Is it going to be a split? Because the Jews were the second most. Herve Francois (53:18.259) That's right. That's right. That's right. Herve Francois (53:25.223) And we got to ask this. Brock Ganeles (53:37.219) Voting-wise, they're like 85 percenters for Democrats. So they were just behind Black women in terms of their support of Democrats over the years because they're natural allies with Democratic Party. But we talked about this the other day, There's a rift in the Jewish community. There's Jews like me who are progressives, who are not supporting Israel at all costs. Like any other ally, you just can't... We're a party to their atrocities. Herve Francois (53:52.393) Well, that's what I was going to ask. Mark Hayes (53:52.516) Yeah. Herve Francois (53:59.189) That's right. Mark Hayes (54:03.732) Can't just blindly go for it. Right. Brock Ganeles (54:06.25) And, you know, we can't be a party to anyone else's atrocities. That's just not the way a country can operate. You know, I don't want the pendulum to swing so far back that we have like an anti-Semitic scourge in this country. You so I want us to find a middle ground, but it's Israel. Yeah, American Jews are in their own civil war over what their feelings are about Israel. Mark Hayes (54:10.735) At all. Herve Francois (54:20.103) No, no, no, no, no, no Herve Francois (54:33.173) There's factions within the Latino community in the United States of America. There are factions within the Black community in United States of America, right? It's not just the Jewish community. Conversations need to happen. I don't know if there's going to be a kumbaya where all Jews come together and all Blacks come together and all Latinos come together. Mark Hayes (54:33.236) Yeah. Herve Francois (54:49.877) and on and so forth, right? These factions are gonna say, this is a real sensitive issues that folks are talking about and everything else like that. But yes, how is it going to land within a Jewish community? Israel has had their strength, let's keep it real, let's keep it above. Israel has a strong hold on United States of America for decades through both Republican and Democratic presidents. APAC lobbyists. Mark Hayes (55:11.482) He said he wasn't even anything. Herve Francois (55:14.749) millions of dollars that they give to write these candidates on both sides of the aisle. Brock Ganeles (55:19.64) But at this point, any Democratic candidate taking AIPAC money is vulnerable to lose their seat. mean, so it's there will be a change in US policy with the allies ship with Israel once the MAGA, you know, once the MAGA movement is unseated, there's no way. Herve Francois (55:24.789) That's right. That's right. Mark Hayes (55:38.766) Right. Brock Ganeles (55:39.374) going to be the same. There will be potentially a dramatic change, but they'll also be probably a dramatic change in Israel, which may make it easier for policies to change. Herve Francois (55:50.134) change in leadership. needs to happen. That needs to happen. Mark Hayes (55:53.028) Yeah. Come hell or high water. It's coming. Yeah, it's coming. It's coming to end. Brock Ganeles (56:00.757) Israel needs to have their movement like the movement that's starting to happen in the US. But we probably need to pull it off and show them the way. Like, it's kind of incumbent on us to fix our house. Mark Hayes (56:12.923) No we've got Herve Francois (56:13.919) Yeah. Mark Hayes (56:15.5) All right, gentlemen, good place to leave it. Irving, we're gonna have to ditch you back here next week to continue this Israel discussion. More on the Haitian you know just debacle that Trump is pursuing. more on the Supreme Court. I mean, you know, we didn't even get to the hundred school kids that were killed in Iran, and the Pentagon is silent on it. Again, another, you know, strike at a school building.
