- 0:02Mimi and Mark chapter 6. What a mighty God we serve.
- 0:13Mark, 6 together. Today.
- 0:18Is an exciting session for many reasons.
- 0:20And one of those reasons is that, as we come to the word of
- 0:23God, and as you've been with us week after week after week, We
- 0:29are now entering into a new era with the ministry of Jesus
- 0:33Christ. We have spent many weeks and
- 0:37months. exploring and beholding through handful of chapters,
- 0:42Jesus Christ, preaching healing Delivering rescuing rebuking
- 0:52with a variety of people before him and with a diversity of
- 0:56scenarios and situations, but as we come to, what we're going to
- 1:01read today, for the first time, we are going to witness, and we
- 1:05are actually going to see the closest Disciples of Jesus
- 1:10Christ. Being commissioned to multiply
- 1:16and expand what exclusively belonged to Jesus for so long.
- 1:21After being sorely rejected in Nazareth, the Lord now is ready
- 1:26to delegate, his disciples to give him a portion of his power
- 1:31and to send them out on a short-term Outreach to really
- 1:36replicate the activity that you. And I have become so familiar
- 1:39with And they are going to take what Christ was doing.
- 1:45And reflect it in different parts within the boundaries of
- 1:49Israel. Now you and I hearing that my
- 1:52think to ourselves, okay, that's great and that might make up for
- 1:56a great Bible study, but it's very difficult for that kind of
- 1:59subject to hold applicable truths, right?
- 2:02And I would say not, right because all scripture is
- 2:06breathed out by God and it is profitable, all of it, including
- 2:12Jesus giving Specific Instructions to his disciples as
- 2:17they are prepared to head out on Mission.
- 2:20For the first time in this way. And the only group who really
- 2:27will not benefit from what is about to be set from this point
- 2:30on is for those who do not have their life set on seriously
- 2:36serving God. I'll tell you up front that this
- 2:39will have no relevance to you. If you are a person who has not
- 2:44prioritized playing your part in God's Grand drama of redemption
- 2:51in our world. But if you are a person who has
- 2:54this Burning Desire, who is orchestrated your life around
- 2:59everything, serving the purpose of you serving God, then I can
- 3:03assure you that as we draw from this, well of Truth, it will
- 3:07enrich Each that Holy ambition, you will feel blessed because
- 3:13what we're going to read in a moment is actually in some way
- 3:18directions for us as much as they are, for the disciples.
- 3:23And these directions are for those who seriously want to
- 3:28serve God and I want to read it first and I want you to see it
- 3:32first and then we're going to look at five, five of them five
- 3:36things that you can apply to your life.
- 3:39If you have this ambition to say, Lord with my life, I want
- 3:43to be as effective as possible because these principles will be
- 3:48applied and can be applied, no matter what you do for the Lord.
- 3:53No matter where you go for the Lord, no matter what member you
- 3:56are in his body. All these things are sufficient
- 4:00and they're good and you will be blessed by them.
- 4:03I'm sure, again for those who have no concern and have
- 4:07different desires, this will be a dread to you, but I pray that
- 4:12even if you are in this place and you are in that place,
- 4:16something would touch your heart.
- 4:18You know, we just pray but I really want to pray again and I
- 4:21really want to pray because I believe in prayer.
- 4:24And one of the things that a preacher fears is coming on the
- 4:30pulpit, without the help of the Holy Spirit. some might be able
- 4:35to depend upon their oratory skills or the charisma, not this
- 4:40leadership. You know, I was Charles Spurgeon
- 4:44when he would get up from the front Pew, to the pulpit who
- 4:47would say to himself. While trembling inside, I
- 4:50believe in the Holy Spirit, I believe in the Holy Spirit, I
- 4:54believe in the Holy Spirit, Because he knew that he needed
- 4:58the Holy Spirit and I want you to just join with me as I ask
- 5:02God that just anoint this time in a special way.
- 5:07Lord, we do ask in reverence That you would help us in this
- 5:12time, lord. We believe in the Holy Spirit
- 5:17and we believe that the Holy Spirit has been given for the
- 5:20sake of demonstrating power and that the message heralded would
- 5:24not be heralded void of that strength and that Grace Lord,
- 5:28with everything in our hearts, please bless this delivery and
- 5:34may the reception be equally blessed.
- 5:38Lord help us see the beauty of Jesus, his wisdom, his glory,
- 5:41and let it be something that will cause us to worship Lord.
- 5:46We set aside any confidence in the flesh and we look to you now
- 5:50in desperation in Jesus name we pray.
- 5:53Amen. Mark 6.
- 5:59Verse 7, here's what God's word says.
- 6:04And he called the twelve and began to send them out, two by
- 6:07two. And gave them authority over the
- 6:11unclean spirits. He charged them not to take
- 6:14nothing for their Journey except a staff, no bread, no bag no
- 6:18money in their belts, but to wear sandals and not put on two
- 6:22tunics and he said to them whenever you enter a house, stay
- 6:28there until you depart from there.
- 6:29And if any place will not receive you and they will not
- 6:33listen to you when you leave shake off the dust that is on
- 6:37your feet, as a testimony. Testimony against them.
- 6:40So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent.
- 6:44And they cast out many demons and Anointed with oil, many who
- 6:47were sick and healed them. Five directions given by Jesus
- 6:52Christ for the serious servant of God.
- 6:56And the first observation that we have to make, is this?
- 6:59And I'm going to organize it that Servants of God will do
- 7:03number one, a serious servant of God will value.
- 7:08And cherish Christian partnership will value and
- 7:13cherish Christian partnership. We cannot Overlook the fact that
- 7:18when Jesus sends out the 12, He organizes them in groups.
- 7:23He did not send them out individually, he pairs them and
- 7:27he releases them. As six different partners. now,
- 7:34you would think Lord if you really want to reach more people
- 7:39and cover more ground, send them out one by one and you can just
- 7:43do so much more that way. But clearly by Jesus doing this
- 7:46implies that, there is a foundational philosophy at work
- 7:51here. If you and I want to be serious
- 7:53about Kingdom work, and here it is.
- 7:55Christian service. Must be performed with Christian
- 7:59company. Christian service must be
- 8:02performed with Christian company.
- 8:05This is Christ idea, and that must be our conviction.
- 8:10Listen carefully, there is no such thing as an effective
- 8:13servant of God. Who dismisses the regular
- 8:17companionship and the co laboring efforts of other
- 8:21believers. And the primary means by which
- 8:26God has given to Believers in order to know this Advantage is
- 8:33through the local church, a body of Believers that someone can
- 8:38connect and serve with that is his means of which you and I can
- 8:43come as a home base and the from that home base Enjoy the
- 8:48blessings that come by going to by 2 2 by 2 not just the number
- 8:54two, but the idea of partnership you know, whenever I meet
- 8:58somebody who is flimsy with their interaction and conviction
- 9:03with the local church, it's indicative of many things.
- 9:05And one of the things that it's synced signals that is that this
- 9:09person is not serious about serving God.
- 9:13This person is clearly not serious about serving God.
- 9:17And you might say, well, no, because there are some people
- 9:20who really made great efforts to serve God, who are not
- 9:23consistent with their fellowship and accountability with other
- 9:27believers. And I would say that might be
- 9:29true. But no matter who, that person
- 9:31is how gifted they are, how intelligent they are, that
- 9:34person's labor will be limited. It will be limited.
- 9:40The Holy Spirit tells us in the Book of Ecclesiastes, Two Is
- 9:44Better Than One. Two Is Better Than One.
- 9:49And when he says that statement through Solomon's writings, he
- 9:53follows that statement with the Glorious advantages that come.
- 9:58When a person trust in God's wisdom that doing anything solo
- 10:03is, always lesser than doing it. With the way God intended you to
- 10:06do things, including how you serve him.
- 10:09And so, I want you to turn there.
- 10:10Quickly, Ecclesiastes. Chapter 4.
- 10:12And I want you to see how Two Is Better Than One.
- 10:18The serious servant of God will cherish and value, Christian
- 10:22partnership. Cliches 4:9.
- 10:32Two are better than one. And here's the first reason,
- 10:37because they have a good reward for their toil.
- 10:42The first thing that partnership promises is greater fruit in
- 10:46your labor, greater fruit in your labor.
- 10:49And I think for those who are members of this church, that one
- 10:51of the strongest examples of that is understanding how the
- 10:54mechanics operate here. It is absolutely impossible for
- 10:58the things that are occurring here to function without the
- 11:01participation of every single one of you.
- 11:05Everybody knows that including the Declaration of God's word.
- 11:08So many things need to happen in the background for this to
- 11:11happen more than once a week but more than the obvious
- 11:16practicality of Helping Hands being present, when you choose
- 11:21to be a part of a body of Believers, you not only have
- 11:24access to that, you have access to wisdom and support And
- 11:33Council and encouragement and so many other things resources and
- 11:39creativity that will only sharpen you in what you do for
- 11:44God, and who God called you to be as a man or a woman of God.
- 11:49And so as iron sharpens iron, right?
- 11:53When we come into this place consistently and we meet with
- 11:57one, another consistently, there is a polishing that occurs that
- 12:02cannot be known if you do this solo.
- 12:06And I can expand on these things so much more, but I want to just
- 12:08go from one to the next. Look at the second thing.
- 12:11The holy spirit says in verse 10, for if they fall one, will
- 12:16lift up his fellow but woe to him.
- 12:18Who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up.
- 12:23Here's the second gift that partnership assures us that when
- 12:27and if we do fall, we will be helped. now, the way this
- 12:33argument is made is brilliant, because it shows that the only
- 12:38way you and I can expect Swift assistance from other people who
- 12:42have Christ like convictions is that if you fall in their
- 12:47presence, If you tumble in close proximity because it's possible
- 12:55to be alone and fall and there are some people unfortunately
- 13:00who deliberately distance themselves from other believers
- 13:03for whatever reason that are unjustifiable.
- 13:07And such people have no right to expect Brothers, our sisters
- 13:12coming to their aid. If they do fall, because they
- 13:16made the decision long ago to be distant, this blessing is only
- 13:21secured when you have a firm conviction, that you will stay
- 13:26close to the fold. And what a secure thing.
- 13:31It is to know that what I inherit when I go to buy two,
- 13:35when I lock arms with other Saints, is that when I am
- 13:38overcome in any way, emotionally physically, physically, I praise
- 13:43God, for the moments, where people here throughout the past
- 13:45few months, I've had surgeries or different things, and they
- 13:47were able to come here with Believers and Believers are able
- 13:50to help them in practical ways. This is what a speaking of
- 13:52physically, emotionally spiritually.
- 13:56When you have this two-by-two mentality, you will know this
- 14:00blessing. I mean, I know we're in
- 14:02Ecclesiastes but just come with me quickly to acts and put your
- 14:06hand there and Ecclesiastes for, but go to the other side of your
- 14:08Bible and acts for. I want you to see something.
- 14:10So wonderful. So precious to me.
- 14:14In Acts 4. the church was being introduced to persecution very
- 14:20early on in there is in its Inception and here we see That
- 14:26Peter and John were before the council they were arrested and
- 14:29they were warned, they were warned by the religious Elite,
- 14:32not to go out and to preach in this name anymore.
- 14:36So after being arrested, look what they do.
- 14:38In verse 23 of chapter 4, when they were released, they went to
- 14:44their friends. They went to their friends and
- 14:47reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
- 14:54Isn't it incredible? These Mighty Apostles after
- 14:57being in a very hostile environment.
- 15:01New as a reflex, we must go to the Brethren and we must share
- 15:07what had happened to us. We must open our hearts and
- 15:10declared the threats that are looming over us and the dangers
- 15:13that await us, Apostles did this my friend, do you have friends?
- 15:21Do you have a group of believers?
- 15:25That you can come to when there is war against you.
- 15:29When there are trials that are overcoming you and to spill your
- 15:35soul and say this is what's happening in my life.
- 15:39Well I think I'm okay. Oh really you're better than the
- 15:42apostles you're stronger than Peter and John obviously.
- 15:48No. They came to their friends and
- 15:50they open their hearts and I want you to see what their
- 15:52friends did and verse 24. And when they heard it, they
- 15:56lifted their voices together to God.
- 16:01Peter and John come in. This is what the Pharisees are
- 16:03saying, this is what the Sanhedrin are planning were in
- 16:06trouble. And here's what true friends do.
- 16:10Here's what to buy, two promises.
- 16:13All right. All right, let's pray, let's
- 16:17pray. Let's seek God.
- 16:19And they lifted their voices to God and the Holy Spirit came and
- 16:22shook that place. And they were emboldened.
- 16:24They were emboldened to continue to speak the word of God.
- 16:28Do you have that believer? Do you have?
- 16:31This is this true in your life? We come back to Ecclesiastes and
- 16:38we see a third blessing that partnership opens up for us and
- 16:42Ecclesiastes 411 again, if to lie together, they keep warm.
- 16:49But how can one keep warm alone? Here's the third blessing that
- 16:54partnership offers it promises comfort and Company. when you
- 17:01have the presence of other like-minded, Christ, filled
- 17:05people, it keeps us from emotional mental and spiritual
- 17:11hypothermia. It's very difficult for you to
- 17:15feel your Zeal crystallizing or being overcome by the chill of
- 17:21discouragement. When you are constantly around
- 17:25those whose hearts are alive in Christ, when you have the active
- 17:32presence of people in your life, you will know warmth a warmth
- 17:38that will cause your heart to be softened.
- 17:41That will give you hope for tomorrow that will assure you
- 17:44that you are loved and cared for That cannot be realized if you
- 17:51are sporadic. That cannot be realized.
- 17:55If this is not a discipline that cannot be realized unless you
- 17:59are consistent. And this is what we were
- 18:05promised. If you look at the early
- 18:07churches practice, constant Fellowship was was the thing.
- 18:16When you study the book of Acts and you see how people went out
- 18:18to minister and to different parts of their Known World,
- 18:22there was partnership, there was constant visiting homes and
- 18:26local churches. It was just that was the nothing
- 18:29was done individually. At least as a standard.
- 18:36And so you have to understand something that there is warmth
- 18:39there is warmth. And you know what happens in the
- 18:41most simplest of ways. Can I tell you how it happens to
- 18:44me? I can walk through those doors.
- 18:47Come into this place on a Wednesday or Friday night and
- 18:49just the presence of believers. It's enough to awaken my faith
- 18:57and to bless me is that not true?
- 19:00Is that not true? Thank you for agreeing with me.
- 19:02Isn't it true that you just the sight of you in this place here
- 19:06at walk to now 2:00 on on a Sunday.
- 19:11It just rejuvenates. Me it blesses me.
- 19:15And then add on top of that when you sing and out on top of that
- 19:18when this place fills up with the voices of Fellowship.
- 19:21Oh, You can't get that on Instagram.
- 19:27You'll never get it. Because warmth comes from close
- 19:31proximity. Thinking that you can warm
- 19:35yourself on a fire on a screen that you project from your
- 19:38phone. No matter how realistic it is,
- 19:43we'll never be able to deliver the same way that when you come
- 19:47and you put locks together in light that thing of flame.
- 19:51Same goes with church, watch on the screen, all you want, it can
- 19:54be real, it can be HD. And now with this goggles, that
- 19:59you'll be able to put on and be an avatar and show up to service
- 20:02God help us There's a fourth blessing.
- 20:09You think I'm done? Look at verse 12 of Ecclesiastes
- 20:12for, and though, a man might Prevail against one who is alone
- 20:18to will withstand him. A three-fold cord, is not
- 20:22quickly broken. Here's the final, but not
- 20:25limited to this blessing, mention pertaining to
- 20:28partnership. There is a greater resistance
- 20:30and warfare You know, I know criminals out there in our city
- 20:34are becoming more and more bold and Reckless, but I think some
- 20:37of them still have sense that if they were to choose the option
- 20:40between attacking a crowd or attacking somebody who's walking
- 20:44alone in the night, they're going to go with the ladder and
- 20:48we think about spiritual warfare.
- 20:50The scriptures prescribes the principles to tell us that it's
- 20:54up to us how we experience Warfare.
- 20:56And one of the ways in which you can ensure greater strength is
- 20:59when you do this thing with fellow soldiers, Your mind is
- 21:06less vulnerable, your emotions are less accessible when you are
- 21:12constantly surrounded by eyes and hands and hearts who will go
- 21:18to war with you when they know that you are out in the field.
- 21:24and when you are in a trench and bullets are whizzing by your
- 21:27head, who's in your Foxhole, the serious servant of God will
- 21:38value and cherish Christian partnership, but we come back to
- 21:41Mark and we realize Point number two, instruction number two.
- 21:46Principle number two. Found in verse 8, He charged
- 21:50them not to take nothing. For their Journey, except a
- 21:55staff, no bread, no bag no money in their ballots, but to wear
- 21:58sandals and not put on two tunics.
- 22:02The serious servant of God. We'll learn how to continually
- 22:07depend on God. Undoubtedly, this particular
- 22:12charges unique to the disciples in this instance because of the
- 22:15uniqueness of the mission and the brevity of the mission there
- 22:17is, there was no time to prepare.
- 22:20There is no time to make provisions and extra Provisions.
- 22:24But that doesn't mean that there is not a Timeless.
- 22:26Truth tucked in here for us. Why would Jesus specifically
- 22:32order them not to look back and not to reach anywhere to add
- 22:37anything to their inventory? But to Simply, Wow out
- 22:40immediately. The answer is simple because
- 22:44they were to learn absolute confidence in God to provide for
- 22:47them as they committed to serving his son.
- 22:51They would learn absolute confidence in God, as they have
- 22:55absolutely determined to serve the Glorious, Son of God.
- 23:03And that is what the Lord wants to teach him as you prioritize.
- 23:06My kingdom, I'm going to show you how I'm going to provide for
- 23:10you along the way. Now, listen, when you make it
- 23:13your ambition, to live for the glory of God, especially for
- 23:16those who are in full-time Ministry, that endeavor can be,
- 23:19very daunting for many reasons. And the main obvious General
- 23:24reason, is that serving God will entail for you.
- 23:28To wait on God and to look to God day by day, there are
- 23:32certain seasons in serving God where you will be pressed.
- 23:37And this is not just for the full-time preacher.
- 23:39As for any servant of God, you will be pressed and tempted to
- 23:42turn your attention, your resources, your time away from
- 23:47God, and on something else for the sake of self-preservation.
- 23:52And in those moments where you are worried about the
- 23:54necessities of life, even here's my charge to you based on this
- 23:58principle and 100 different promises.
- 24:01God will honor you. As you honor him, God will honor
- 24:05you as you honor him and it is quite amazing how he finds a way
- 24:10to not just keep you afloat, but cover every need that you have.
- 24:16And if you don't think that, this is what Jesus means, then
- 24:18turn quickly to Luke 22 and look at verse 35.
- 24:21This is at the end of Jesus ministry, and he's giving final
- 24:25instructions and preparation for his departure.
- 24:29And when he looks at his disciples after hinting, and
- 24:33clearly preparing them for this transition in their own lives.
- 24:38Look what he says in Luke 22, 35.
- 24:44And he said to them when I send you out with no money bag or
- 24:48knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?
- 24:53They said, nothing. Nothing.
- 24:58And then he goes on to tell him. Well now I'm telling you to
- 25:00actually equip yourself, write the following verse gives him
- 25:03new sets of instructions, which which informs us that his
- 25:05initial set of instructions is not just permanent Universal,
- 25:09rule that you and I as Christians need a pledge
- 25:12ourselves to self-induce suffering or lack, Right.
- 25:19There's context here. This was a teaching moment and
- 25:22this is what he wanted to teach them when I sent you out and
- 25:26deliberately told you not to accompany yourself with any
- 25:29other Advantage. Practically speaking did you
- 25:32lack nothing? And here's what I want to tell
- 25:35you, your confession will be the same if you serve God long
- 25:39enough, Serve him long enough and be willing at any moment for
- 25:44him to send you where he would want to send your keep you where
- 25:46he would want to keep you and you will have this glad
- 25:49confession when you look back lord, I lacked nothing.
- 25:53Absolutely nothing. I'm telling you, when you serve
- 25:58God, there will be many. Who will discourage you, you can
- 26:02make more money. You're more gifted.
- 26:05You can go into this Avenue, you can go into this kind of field.
- 26:10But I have to tell you. There is no greater Adventure
- 26:13than serving the lord Jesus. It's an adventure, it is not
- 26:18stale. It is not predictable.
- 26:20It is not routine. You can make it that way.
- 26:23But oh, when you daily say, Lord, just let me let me be used
- 26:27by you. What a joy it is to see how he
- 26:31authors your life, what a joy it is when he brings like-minded
- 26:35people with you, what a joy, it is when he provides a work for
- 26:39you. Do you know how I know that he
- 26:41will give you a work if you're desperate to serve him because
- 26:43he told us that the laborers are few the Harvest is great.
- 26:47It's right. The laborers are few.
- 26:51And so we see here that there was a call to trust and as we
- 26:57are about to look here, one of the means, if not the main means
- 26:59by, which God does come through is through people is through
- 27:05other people directly and indirectly.
- 27:09Look here at verse 10 and he said to them wherever you enter
- 27:12a house, stay there until you depart from there whenever you
- 27:15enter a house, stay there until you depart from there.
- 27:19This may seem like a strange command but it is a beautiful
- 27:22hint at the humility and the careful wisdom of the master.
- 27:26And it brings us to our third point, the serious servant of
- 27:29God. Will value and cherish Christian
- 27:32partnership. The serious servant of God will
- 27:37learn how to live dependently on God.
- 27:41Three, the serious servant of God will pursue contentment.
- 27:48Will pursue contentment. Here's a lord, essentially
- 27:54saying, the following whatever lodging Providence, leads you
- 27:57to, as you go out and serve me and my name, Ensure yourself
- 28:04that you will remain there and refused to seek another place.
- 28:08No matter how much more appealing or luxurious other
- 28:12options, Maybe this may seem like a petty thing but it's very
- 28:17important as a principle because it holds two purposes one for
- 28:20the messenger and two for the message that such Behavior would
- 28:24convey. And when we think about the
- 28:27first Purpose By staying still, you know what would happen for
- 28:30the disciples, they would learn contentment and not get caught
- 28:35up in the pursuit of things that would ultimately distract them
- 28:39from their main focus which was to preach the word of God. you
- 28:43know, naturally when these guys would have the authority of
- 28:45Christ on them, casting out devils and Healing The Sick,
- 28:48they would attract people and they might even attract host and
- 28:52invitations to something that is more Prosperous.
- 28:56Something that is more honorable somebody that is more beneficial
- 29:02materially speaking and what the Lord is saying.
- 29:05No, wherever you go, wherever Providence leads, you park there
- 29:08and stay there and don't get caught up looking for the next
- 29:12best thing wherever you go learn to be content and learn to
- 29:17focus. Your efforts on Ministry Above
- 29:19All Else. And though this is specific
- 29:22again zoom out, understand the principle serving God.
- 29:28Without contentment being satisfied with your lot, as
- 29:31god-ordained is an extremely difficult and disorienting
- 29:37thing. You rob yourself of joy.
- 29:41You you cut your Effectiveness and so many pieces and so many
- 29:46limitations and there are other problems that come with that.
- 29:50The Lord wanted these people his disciples to be single-minded
- 29:53single died, focused. And listen, contentment is not
- 29:57her natural disposition you and I know that.
- 30:00That is why Paul says, I can do all things through him.
- 30:03Who strengthens me? Do you know what that means in
- 30:06context? It's not, it's not meaning that
- 30:07you can bench a certain amount of weight Or that you can, you
- 30:12know, make a certain amount of money in your business.
- 30:14God will help you. He will bless you in all things.
- 30:16But the context, there is Paul, just finished saying I have
- 30:21learned the secret of being and facing plenty and hunger,
- 30:25abundance and need. I can do all things through him.
- 30:28Who strengthens me. Because of my inner restlessness
- 30:32to continually covet and to organize my life, to be driven
- 30:38by comfort and pleasure. It requires the power of Jesus,
- 30:44in me to be satisfied in all seasons.
- 30:49To actually tangibly feel a bleed be content.
- 30:55And that is really a secret to effective service to God.
- 31:00Because even the most faithful of God's servants can be driven
- 31:04off course, when they allow discontentment to take the
- 31:08driver's seat. And to determine their decisions
- 31:12and their planning and what they do with their time, be careful.
- 31:15If you were easily distracted by toys, Or by experiences.
- 31:23If you are ultimately motivated by upgrades and all these
- 31:27trivial things, I have to tell you boldly, you will be of
- 31:31little use for God's work. You will not be cut out for the
- 31:36maximum potential of God's work. It is not to say that we can
- 31:41enjoy things, that is not what Jesus is trying to convey.
- 31:46It's a more about distraction than anything else and you, and
- 31:50I cannot profess a desperation for God to use us in any way
- 31:53that he would want to use this. If we're not ready to go, where
- 31:55you want us to go or stay, where you want us to stay, or give up
- 31:58what he would want us to give up.
- 32:00And sometimes Jesus will tell you to travel light and
- 32:03sometimes like in Luke 22, he'll say, be wise and prepared and
- 32:09save up. And be careful how you go about
- 32:13this. It's all about, being sensitive
- 32:15to his holy spirit. But pursue contentment, but
- 32:20there's something else to this command.
- 32:22In verse 10. This charge communicates
- 32:25something. About the manner in which the
- 32:28servant of God must conduct himself.
- 32:31Think about it this way. Imagine going to somebody's
- 32:33home. You enter into a village, you
- 32:34greet it, right? Matthew 10 says you greet them
- 32:37and you stay there, if they are worthy and if they are worthy,
- 32:39you remain there until you depart from that town, what
- 32:42would it look like if after being invited and hosted by
- 32:45somebody who is worthy to get up and leave when you get an
- 32:50invitation to go elsewhere? It's offensive.
- 32:55It's rude. And more than that, if you stay
- 32:59in that Community long enough and you have this habit of
- 33:03bouncing one place to the next. And dismissing people's
- 33:07hospitality and their care for you.
- 33:08You risk, muddying. Your testimony and planting in
- 33:13people's minds that you might have different motives.
- 33:16You might be doing this for something else.
- 33:20And so Jesus, here is brilliant. Jesus Lord, we love you.
- 33:24This is amazing because the Lord here, cares about social
- 33:29etiquette, He actually cares about how you interact with
- 33:35people in different context. How you enter into a place?
- 33:40How you exit a place? All these little intricacies are
- 33:45important to the Holy Spirit especially for the person who
- 33:48cares about their testimony for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- 33:52The true servant of God does not limit their witness to the depth
- 33:56of their Doctrine. Or their theology.
- 34:00No people who care about their witness are also disciplined and
- 34:04educated and how to interact with people.
- 34:09They are not unnecessarily offensive.
- 34:12They are not people who are just powerful orders.
- 34:16Know, they actually they think about how they communicate what
- 34:21to say, what not to say. And sometimes you meet some
- 34:25people who are extremely insightful, spiritually, they
- 34:27seem to have a colossal intellect but they stink with
- 34:30pride. And they have a sense of
- 34:34superiority. And what happens with all that
- 34:37knowledge, what happens with all that Vigor, what happens with
- 34:40all that, amazing ability to present something, it just
- 34:43dissipates. So, the true servant of God will
- 34:46avoid the appearance of evil. They will they will ensure that
- 34:52their steps are led by God's wisdom has provided here.
- 34:55And I challenge you to read the Bible and to look deeper into
- 34:58see that God does. In fact care about what I'm
- 35:01seeing. What I'm saying he does So there
- 35:05is a pursuit of contentment, if you want God to take you far, if
- 35:09you want God to keep you long, then there needs to be this
- 35:12settled learning. Lord and all things.
- 35:16Help me believe that I have a beautiful inheritance and helped
- 35:19me more than that to trust that there's nothing that will
- 35:22satisfy me more than doing the will of the father.
- 35:25You will go far for God's kingdom.
- 35:28If that is something that you apply, but it's not just
- 35:32contentment. Nor is it just conduct that the
- 35:35Christian will exercise, if they are serious servant of God?
- 35:39No, Jesus instructions here. Require the disciples to apply
- 35:43something else look here in verse 11.
- 35:47And if any place will not receive you and they will not
- 35:50listen to you, when you leave shake off the dust that is on
- 35:53your feet, as a testimony against them.
- 35:57The serious servant of God, will not just pursue contentment and
- 36:03all places at all times, they will also apply and exercise
- 36:08discernment. Discernment.
- 36:13This is what Jesus is saying, when you come to a place, you
- 36:17need to be able to identify who is receptive.
- 36:20And you need to be able to identify who is not receptive.
- 36:24And this kind of awareness would determine many things.
- 36:26It would determine whom they would serve, where they would
- 36:29stay. And when it was time to move on,
- 36:35they were to expect rejection, right?
- 36:36We learned last week that they witnessed with their own eyes,
- 36:39Jesus is Hometown, kick him out. And Jesus.
- 36:44He was preparing them that you too will know, resistance, you
- 36:47too. Will know obstacles.
- 36:48You will know opposition be prepared for that and by
- 36:51informing them about that in advance.
- 36:53They needed to be trained about how not to throw their Pearls
- 36:56Before Swine. And the Lord listened, he
- 37:01amplifies this principle in Matthew chapter 10.
- 37:05When he says the following in verse 11 and 12 and whatever
- 37:09town, or Village you enter Matthew 10, 11, find out who is
- 37:13worthy in it and stay there until you depart, as you enter
- 37:17the house greet it? And if the house is worthy, let
- 37:20your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let
- 37:23your peace return to you. So they're discernment had to be
- 37:29Beyond just Their audience. Their discernment.
- 37:32Also need to be applied about their Association and Jesus
- 37:36says, you need to be able to develop A screening.
- 37:41So that when you come into a place, you can determine who is
- 37:44worthy to host you and who is not worthy to host you.
- 37:48Now, what does that mean, worthy?
- 37:50Like, if they give enough of an honorarium if they have social
- 37:53status, absolutely not the worthiness here.
- 37:56That Jesus teaching on is simply this receptivity, Receptivity to
- 38:01the message of the Gospel receptivity, to the truth that
- 38:04you want to declare receptivity to you.
- 38:06As a representative of Jesus Christ, you need to be able to
- 38:10see. Is this person a person of peace
- 38:12and if they are a person of Peace then stay there and more
- 38:16than that are they worthy in terms of Integrity?
- 38:20What is their life? Like because you being in their
- 38:23home can again send a message to others by your simple
- 38:26association with them. Do you agree with their life?
- 38:29Do you agree with what? What they do.
- 38:31Do you agree with how they conduct themselves?
- 38:33You needed all to say, you need to be able to discern people.
- 38:38And this again, reinforces that true servant of God.
- 38:41Servants of God are selective and discriminating.
- 38:44I know discrimination is a bad word but if you understand his
- 38:47definition is simply to decipher discriminating.
- 38:52Yes, we're supposed to be very careful with our associations
- 38:57unless we put ourselves in compromising situations or
- 39:00positions that will weaken our witness.
- 39:02Now listen it's much easier to know. it's much easier to know
- 39:07when to move on when you deal with a non-believer who is
- 39:11either cursing you or saying all these derogatory things to you
- 39:15or simply just walk away from me that doesn't require much right
- 39:20but there are people who still tempted to and I've seen it with
- 39:22my own eyes just continue to Hound on people that want
- 39:25nothing to do with the gospel, and they had a endangering
- 39:28themselves in one way or another.
- 39:31All that to say that our call to discernment is beyond our
- 39:33Evangelistic efforts are called to discernment is even within
- 39:37the household of God. Because as much as this is about
- 39:39going out there, you know this very well, people will come in
- 39:42here. They will come in here and when
- 39:45they come in here we have to be equally careful.
- 39:49To be able to determine who is worthy and who is not worthy.
- 39:54Everybody is worthy. No, I'm not saying it like that.
- 39:58who will be receptive and who in fact might be a danger You might
- 40:03not believe this, you might think that is Harsh.
- 40:06Because there are some people who even in Christian circles
- 40:09and I believe they're saying this from a pure heart
- 40:11innocently, even out of a place of love and care.
- 40:15Brother, we can't give up on him brother.
- 40:19We can't give up on her and yes that's true.
- 40:23There is a there is a persistence in our love and
- 40:26service. But that is not totally true.
- 40:30Because the same holy spirit that tells us to love and serve
- 40:32and reach out and, to be patient as the same.
- 40:34Holy Spirit, who says that there are sometimes where enough is
- 40:37enough and you need to move on. Let me prove that to you Titus
- 40:43Chapter 3. And Titus Chapter 3 Verse 10.
- 40:47Look at these simple instructions, one of many Paul
- 40:50says, as for a person who stirs up the vision after warning him
- 40:54once, and then twice have nothing more to do with him.
- 41:00We're not talking about the world here, we're talking about
- 41:01the church. We're not talking about the
- 41:04streets, were talking about the assembly.
- 41:08Have nothing more to do with them knowing that such a person
- 41:11is Warped and sinful he is self-condemned.
- 41:16You know what, that teaches me that I by the grace of God in
- 41:20his word and through his holy spirit need to be Discerning it
- 41:23of to look at a person and to evaluate their life.
- 41:27Long enough to determine this person is so warped and so
- 41:31sinful to the degree that they are no longer worthy to pursue
- 41:36at this time, I know that might sound shocking but it is true
- 41:42because here the danger is by tolerating such a person by
- 41:45ignoring such a person. You put the rest of the
- 41:48congregation at risk of being hurt by such a person. and so
- 41:54again not just the preacher but the church as a whole must be
- 41:58able to understand what is being said here because if we're not
- 42:03careful, Our limited time are limited efforts are limited
- 42:08energy. Can, in fact be wasted by
- 42:12somebody or some people who have no issue devouring all that you
- 42:17are with no intention to change. So he says have nothing more to
- 42:25do with this person. Have nothing more to do with
- 42:29this person. This is a call to scripture
- 42:32saturated and holy spirit. Prompted wisdom to know when to
- 42:36shake the dust, off your feet and to leave people in God's
- 42:40hands. Leave people in God's hands at
- 42:43the give ourselves to those who are worthy.
- 42:47To those who will receive to, those who are more open.
- 42:52And I've seen in many ways where people.
- 42:55Don't know how to just stop and Trust in the sovereignty of God
- 42:59because they think that they can actually do something to change
- 43:01somebody. You can't, you can't and the
- 43:04discernment part is, when do you stop and when do you move on
- 43:09that? Will make for an effective
- 43:10servant of God? And we come to the last point.
- 43:15The last point is pretty It's pretty obvious.
- 43:20But before we get there, depending on your translation
- 43:22you might have seen something in verse 11 that I didn't read.
- 43:27In verse 11, you'll find this more in the King James or the
- 43:30new King James, it's added assuredly, I say to you, it will
- 43:33be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment
- 43:36than for that City whose who has that in their translation.
- 43:42It's a manuscript difference. But when you go to Matthew,
- 43:46you'll see that this very same truth, is added in the account
- 43:50that Matthew gives about the same instructions that Jesus
- 43:52gives to his disciples. So it's not completely omitted,
- 43:56but I think it's worth pausing. I think about that.
- 43:59Sodom. And Gomorrah is an example
- 44:01throughout the Bible. Of an example of judgment that
- 44:05will come upon evil and perversion.
- 44:09I mean think about the Judgment that Sodom and Gomorrah received
- 44:13and yet Jesus can say that for the person or the town or the
- 44:17city that is exposed to the truth that is powerfully
- 44:21presented and yet rejects it. Their judgment will be more
- 44:24severe than that of Sodom and gomorrah's.
- 44:31How can that be? It just goes to show what great
- 44:35of a crime. It is to hear the gospel and to
- 44:39witness the power of the gospel and to still decline it in the
- 44:44eyes of God. This is a severe violation.
- 44:49And in this specific dispensation, you had the
- 44:51Apostle who that unusual authority over demons and
- 44:54unusual authority over sickness which made this penalty.
- 44:58Even more profound But he's an even says that at the final day
- 45:02of judgement, there will be degrees of punishment in the
- 45:04same way that there will be degrees of reward for the
- 45:07Believers. It will be more tolerable for
- 45:10Sodom and Gomorrah. I don't think people understand
- 45:14just how serious the transaction of truth is.
- 45:20We look at a vessel of clay and we see probably his weaknesses
- 45:23is stumbling of words, whatever the case may be, but understand
- 45:27that the gospel is the most precious thing.
- 45:30And it cost the blood of Jesus Christ and to be able to hear
- 45:34that, and then to turn your back on that.
- 45:38Oh, God says, Sodom and Gomorrah their judgment.
- 45:43Will be tolerable more than that person's judgment.
- 45:50The servant of God will exercise discernment will know that they
- 45:54are limited in many ways. And that people have different
- 45:57heart, postures and conditions. So they know where to go, where
- 46:01to stay who to deal with and when not to.
- 46:04But lastly they will remain. They will remain
- 46:06compassionately, truthful and verse 12.
- 46:10Jesus says, Or is told of what happened to the disciples after
- 46:14Jesus said. So they went out and Proclaim
- 46:17that people should repent, and they cast out many demons and
- 46:21Anointed with oil, many who were sick and healed them.
- 46:26So, after all these practical instructions, Jesus now says go
- 46:29and they go and the priority of their mission was a message.
- 46:34The priority of their mission was a message.
- 46:36Right, the disciples were not to get caught up in community
- 46:39service. They were not to get overly
- 46:42involved with alleviating suffering or to providing
- 46:46practical material needs. Now, there's no doubt.
- 46:50They were to be practical. They were, they were casting out
- 46:53demons, they were Healing The Sick, they were actually
- 46:56administrating help in that way. But never at the expense of
- 47:01eliminating, the presentation of the truth.
- 47:04That Rings. True Redemption.
- 47:06And I think that's important for many Ministries today.
- 47:10Who have much more emphasis on practicality than the profession
- 47:14of faith that we have. We have to be very careful.
- 47:17They went out with a message and everything that they did was to
- 47:20point to that message. And the message of hope, the
- 47:24message of saving, the message of redemption and salvation was
- 47:28a word that you don't hear a lot today.
- 47:31Repent. Repentance change the way you
- 47:37think about God, change the way you think about Sin, change the
- 47:41way you think about eternity change the way you think about
- 47:44life. Change the way you think about.
- 47:46In fact, just give everything up and come to God's word and say I
- 47:49agree with this. That's repentance that's
- 47:52repentance. So, the disciples didn't just go
- 47:58into town and tell people about the love of Jesus.
- 48:02No, they went into town to, they told him about this Jesus.
- 48:05And yes about his unusual. Kindness mercy and Grace.
- 48:11But that, that would change you. And this is what they preach and
- 48:15this is what they did, and that part should bless us, you know,
- 48:18why? Because despite being warned by
- 48:20Jesus, right before this, that you will come against hostility,
- 48:25you will come against resistance.
- 48:27They still, they still dug their heels and they said we're still
- 48:30going to obey you. And we're still going to preach
- 48:33this message. How much more today?
- 48:37How much more today regardless of what the seculars are saying
- 48:41that, you know, we're living in a post Christian world And what
- 48:46people need, what people really need is messages on
- 48:52self-healing. Inner healing.
- 48:57And self-esteem. Because there is now this this
- 49:02wave of propagating mental health and Trauma.
- 49:06And I'm not saying that those things are not true to some
- 49:08degree, but it's come to the point where salvation is
- 49:11apparently reflecting on your past and confronting things that
- 49:16had happened and to acknowledge it.
- 49:18And to realize that you were a victim in one way or another,
- 49:20that's not the gospel. That's not the gospel.
- 49:24This is what they preached repent.
- 49:27No matter what happened to you, no matter what you did, you need
- 49:31to repent and you need to come to Jesus Christ.
- 49:34Will forgive you. Once you realize is that your
- 49:35repentance is genuine and true, and these men were not
- 49:39intimidated. Obviously, they could not, that
- 49:43could not even think about the threats or whatever was coming
- 49:46about their way. And we shouldn't be concerned
- 49:47about the trends in the threats that they hold.
- 49:49Anyway, our message is not bound to a certain time.
- 49:54It's not limited to this culture.
- 49:56It's not any point open to be adjusted for any reason. the
- 50:03serious servant of God will hold firm to that for the time is
- 50:09coming when men will not endure sound teaching They will not
- 50:13endure it, but they will accumulate for themselves
- 50:16teachers right to satisfy their itching ears.
- 50:20What a way of phrasing that they will not endure sound teaching,
- 50:25meaning, perhaps, at one point, they could have tolerated it.
- 50:29But now, at this point, there are no longer able to tolerate
- 50:31it. This is to offencive it's too.
- 50:35It's too controversial enough and maybe even for some this is
- 50:38getting boring. The Bible boring to you.
- 50:42Can you endure it? They cannot endure sound
- 50:48teaching and so they accumulate for themselves teachers to
- 50:52scratch their itching ears. And what's our motivation?
- 50:57The same motivation as these disciples.
- 50:59Whatever is before me, whatever is happening around me.
- 51:02I'm going to just do what Jesus called me to do.
- 51:04If he said go and preach repentance, I'm going to preach
- 51:07repentance. That's it.
- 51:10It's very simple to serve God. We have made it complicated.
- 51:13And here's the conclusion that we can make notice verse 13.
- 51:17And they cast out many demons and Anointed with oil, many who
- 51:21were sick and healed. But you got to connect that with
- 51:24verse 7. Again, and he called the twelve
- 51:26and began to send them out, two by two, and gave them Authority.
- 51:32Gave them Authority on the short-term Mission, they needed
- 51:36a special dose of authority to fulfill this particular part in
- 51:41Christ plan and when it came to the Great Commission he says
- 51:45don't you dare go out until the gift of the father has bestowed
- 51:48upon you. Wait upon the holy spirit which
- 51:52tells me that any point in Ministry.
- 51:55I and you are continually in need of God's grace, to
- 52:01strengthen us to equip us to do what he needs to do in us before
- 52:04we even do anything for him, Authority power, a touch from
- 52:10God. Not just human Ingenuity, not
- 52:13just my own efforts, but something that God grants from
- 52:16his own hand. And that tells me with all the
- 52:20things that I just heard and all the things Beyond those five
- 52:23directions, I will know a help from God, I will know some kind
- 52:28of Grace that will lift me up and take me where I can't go in
- 52:31my own flesh. And so what a way to cap off all
- 52:36of this, we need the authority of God, we need his help.
- 52:41We need something beyond the natural and this is something
- 52:44that he is willing to provide my friend this afternoon.
- 52:47Are you a serious servant of God?
- 52:50I hope you are. If not I hope you'll be inspired
- 52:52to be because there's no other way to live our dear brother and
- 52:55Pastor just mentioned that he has come to give us life and
- 52:58life abundantly. And if you are a Sears servant
- 53:02of God, you will cherish and value Christian partnership.
- 53:06You will you will understand that there is a contentment to
- 53:11be learned and understood. You also realize that there's a
- 53:14discernment to be applied. You also know that there is a
- 53:17Timeless truth that must be compassionately conveyed.
- 53:22And finally, you also realize that there is something to be
- 53:25known in the place of Reliance on God, In All Seasons at all
- 53:29times. This is my message to you may,
- 53:32God help us follow him and honor him, especially in these final
- 53:37days. Let's pray.
- 53:50And worship team. I know you have songs ready, but
- 53:52if we can sing at some point that classic, I have decided to
- 53:56follow Jesus. No turning back after a message
- 54:00like this and even hearing those statistics early on, I think,
- 54:05It's worth declaring to God. Again I will follow you, no
- 54:08turning back so keep that in mind as we prepare to sing in a
- 54:11moment, but our hearts are bowed.
- 54:14In the presence of God Almighty who has reminded us of our
- 54:17mission and purpose on Earth and it was given us all that.
- 54:20We need to be effective though. We do, pray in this place that
- 54:23you would renew that ambition and that you would help us
- 54:27indeed, wherever we are to apply the things that we heard.
- 54:30Lord, we ask for a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit.
- 54:36Fresh touch from the Holy Spirit.
- 54:38Lord, we do not dare think that this ministry will go anywhere
- 54:41apart from his help. We will be succumb to so much
- 54:46mess. Fears doubts.
- 54:51Fleshly conflict. Unless your word.
- 54:57Is embedded in our hearts, and your power is energized.
- 55:00In our being Lord help us. Help us value this community.
- 55:07Help us care about who we are in every place that we find
- 55:11ourselves in not just in this church.
- 55:13But when we go to the restaurant for lunch, and we deal with
- 55:15waiters and waitresses, when we go and see her extended family,
- 55:19when we go to work, Lord, help us.
- 55:22Help us really know who to find that is worthy and went to move
- 55:27on. When we need to move on, Lord,
- 55:28determine our every step and let it be effortless.
- 55:32Let it be a Grace because your yoke is indeed easy.
- 55:35Your burden is indeed light. And so Lord, if there is any
- 55:38sense in which somebody feels overwhelmed by these
- 55:40instructions, Lord, let them know that your powers behind
- 55:43every command, ready to be dispensed and provided.
- 55:47And so we rejoice in you and we want to honor.
- 55:50You may you be blessed. Lord.
- 55:51May you be blessed by our response.
- 55:53Now as we sing together with one voice in Jesus name, we pray.
- 55:58Amen. Let's stand church.
- 56:08I have this too far. I decided to follow Jesus.
- 58:24No, not yet. I sincerely ask this, I'm not
- 58:42trying to be corny. I'm not trying to feed off of
- 58:45what was just song to play on your emotions but I'm sincerely
- 58:48asking you as soberly as possible in this place.
- 58:52Have you really decided to follow Jesus?
- 58:54Sincerely genuinely. Can you recall a time where you
- 58:59made a choice? I want to follow Jesus.
- 59:01Now, you might be about person who says, I don't remember the
- 59:03time where I made a decision. Well, that's fine.
- 59:05Are you now following Jesus? That's more important than
- 59:08anything else. But for the person who is not
- 59:11concerned, the person who may not even thought about that
- 59:13question and how it applies to their life.
- 59:16Listen, everything is at stake with that question.
- 59:19Being answered in one way or the other.
- 59:21Have you made a Conscience decision to say, this Jesus who
- 59:25came into this world, 2,000 years ago and who died on the
- 59:29cross was, not an empty performance, was not something
- 59:33that held no purpose or significance to me.
- 59:35I now realize that he died for me that he was buried and rose
- 59:40again for me and that he beckons, and he calls me to
- 59:46himself. And now, I will decide to follow
- 59:48Jesus. This is how you follow.
- 59:51You heard what was just preach you repent.
- 59:54You make a decision today that you will now.
- 59:57Realize he is Lord. He is savior, this is sin.
- 1:00:01What I have been doing, how I've been living, I turned from that
- 1:00:04and I turned to God and I want to follow him and I want to live
- 1:00:08for him and I want to enjoy him and I want to see him and be
- 1:00:11with him for all of eternity. I'm telling you today, make that
- 1:00:15decision to follow Jesus. I'm calling you today because
- 1:00:18tomorrow is not promised And you don't know, if you'll have
- 1:00:20another chance to receive this invitation.
- 1:00:23I'm telling you this today, because the days in which we are
- 1:00:26living have been predicted by the prophets and the Apostles of
- 1:00:29old we are in the final seconds of human history.
- 1:00:33I don't know the date and nobody has a right to give a date, but
- 1:00:36I have been instructed in you have as well to look at the
- 1:00:38signs of the times. And when you understand that
- 1:00:41these signs line up with the truths of the Bible, to lift
- 1:00:43your head up because your Redemption is nigh, but that
- 1:00:47Redemption is only for those who are redeemed.
- 1:00:51You cannot look up with confidence and expect Christ to
- 1:00:53come back in your favor. If anything you have every
- 1:00:57reason to be terrified. Because he is a righteous judge
- 1:01:02and he has been good to this world for thousands of years in
- 1:01:05this time of Grace, this window of opportunity for the worst and
- 1:01:09the most filthy of Sinners to come and to be washed and to
- 1:01:13have everything that was held against him, be eradicated by
- 1:01:16one moment of confession that time is dwindling down and when
- 1:01:19it comes to a finality the mission of Christ will be
- 1:01:23changed and the change will be this you will be judged for
- 1:01:26rejecting my grace. And so I call you today to flee
- 1:01:30from the Wrath to come. I call you today to understand
- 1:01:34that you have any mortal part of who you are, you will live for
- 1:01:38eternity and you will either live in the presence of God's
- 1:01:41pleasure or you will be under God's Wrath Without End.
- 1:01:46And the way in which you can transfer one status to the next
- 1:01:49is upon one thing and that is you acknowledging Christ as Lord
- 1:01:53and you acknowledging that, if you come before him now and
- 1:01:55repent and believe on his name that you will be closed.
- 1:01:58In his righteousness, you will be forgiven of everything, the
- 1:02:02Unspeakable things, the private things, the perverse things will
- 1:02:06in one moment be dealt with and you will be justified in the
- 1:02:10sight of God. And so today is the day of
- 1:02:13salvation, listen, hear me clearly.
- 1:02:17This is not the time to play Church in America.
- 1:02:20Our nation is crumbling. Souls are being sealed in their
- 1:02:25faith of Disobedience and Rebellion with the culture in
- 1:02:28The Narrative of our time. And so even if you are in this
- 1:02:33place and you are a minister or you're planning to be a minister
- 1:02:35here, my heart from a fellow brother be bold, be Unapologetic
- 1:02:40Chic this Authority from heaven and let God clothes you with
- 1:02:43power so that when you go out into this world you will not be
- 1:02:47able to easily ignored men and women.
- 1:02:49See, this is a man who has met with something or someone apart
- 1:02:53from this life and yes, we have met with someone who has created
- 1:02:57life and creating This world and created you and created me.
- 1:03:00His name is Jesus and he wants to save you.
- 1:03:04He wants to deliver you. I pray to God that you are
- 1:03:07unable to come into this place week after week and not even be
- 1:03:11slightly convicted. May God have mercy on your soul.
- 1:03:14If that is the case we want to do everything that we can to
- 1:03:17make sure that in these. I just was so stirred by those
- 1:03:20statistics, that's why I'm keeping you here longer than I
- 1:03:22usually do. It's just the times that we're
- 1:03:25living in are unbelievable and then we can still find it in
- 1:03:29ourselves to to minimize our church services to fast as
- 1:03:34possible. TED Talks, it's just not going
- 1:03:37to work. It's not going to cut it for
- 1:03:39this generation. We do need a Revival and that
- 1:03:42Revival has to come first from the preacher, who has been
- 1:03:45baptized with power from on high.
- 1:03:48And a knows, the word of God who loves the word of God, and loves
- 1:03:51the people that he sees week after week and loves the
- 1:03:53visitor. Who comes in and loves the
- 1:03:55neighbor, and loves the persons who was on the streets, it's out
- 1:03:59of my system. Give your life to Christ.
- 1:04:08Give your life to Jesus Christ. Stop playing the fool with God.
- 1:04:13He cares for you and he wants you, and he has a purpose for
- 1:04:17you, but more than anything else, it's for God himself.
- 1:04:20He wants you in his bosom forever and ever Lord, I pray
- 1:04:26with all of my heart and my with my brothers and sisters who have
- 1:04:28been a menning, everything that was said, Lord pour out your
- 1:04:32Holy Spirit, pour out your Holy Spirit, not just here, but in
- 1:04:36every church, every Pulpit Lord in this crisis.
- 1:04:40Our oh God. We pray that you would raise up
- 1:04:42profits that you would raise up men and women who would take the
- 1:04:46call of God. Seriously, and who would take
- 1:04:48the partnership of the ministry? Seriously and say, oh God, I
- 1:04:52will do what I need to do to play the 2 by 2 and to serve my
- 1:04:56brother. And to be encouraged by my
- 1:04:58brother for the sake of the greater, cause help us.
- 1:05:00Lord, help us what we looked, and we thank you for this
- 1:05:03glorious time in this place in Jesus name, we pray.
- 1:05:07Amen, and amen. Be blessed.
- 1:05:09See you
