- 0:14Speaker 1: and what was your understanding? I think you touched on it,
- 0:16Speaker 1: but your understanding of what exactly she did for mister
- 0:19Speaker 1: Epstein when you and she first started dating? Answer something
- 0:23Speaker 1: a state or property manager type question is various physical properties?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Answer yes. Question did miss Maxwell, to the best of
- 0:30Speaker 1: your recollection, ever mentioned massage in the context of her
- 0:34Speaker 1: working for mister Epstein? Answer not that I can recall.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Question did miss Maxwell ever mention arranging for mister Epstein
- 0:41Speaker 1: to meet or hire girls or a young women? Answer?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Excuse me? Question did Miss Maxwell ever mention in her
- 0:47Speaker 1: work for mister Epstein helping them meaning mister Epstein hire
- 0:51Speaker 1: or meet girls or young women in any capacity? Answer
- 0:55Speaker 1: not that I can recall. In any capacity? Yeah, not
- 0:58Speaker 1: that I can recall. Did Miss Maxwell ever discuss mister
- 1:01Speaker 1: Epstein's sexual or romantic life in any way? Answer only
- 1:06Speaker 1: as it related to their past. Question not at all
- 1:09Speaker 1: as it related to other women? Is that right? Answer?
- 1:11Speaker 1: Not that I can recall. Question did Miss Maxwell never
- 1:15Speaker 1: express concern that any of mister Epstein's activities, any of
- 1:18Speaker 1: mister Epstein's activities may have been criminal or ethically problematic.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Answer not that I can recall. Question I imagine the
- 1:26Speaker 1: answer to this is probably yes. Did miss Maxwell ever
- 1:29Speaker 1: discuss her own past romantic relationship with mister Epstein? Answer yes.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Question what was the general nature of how she characterized
- 1:38Speaker 1: her previous relationship? Answer boyfriend girlfriend. Question never more serious
- 1:43Speaker 1: than that as far as you remember. Answer I believe
- 1:46Speaker 1: it was a serious relationship. Question did she ever describe
- 1:49Speaker 1: the reason for their breakup? Answer? She described it at
- 1:52Speaker 1: one point. It was on her fortieth birthday. I think
- 1:54Speaker 1: they broke up with her at that point. Question did
- 1:58Speaker 1: she have a perspective that you can recall as to
- 2:01Speaker 1: the reason for the breakup or what mister Epstein said
- 2:03Speaker 1: the reason for the breakup was? Answer? Yeah, I mean
- 2:07Speaker 1: I believe she mentioned, you know, that she was getting
- 2:09Speaker 1: too old for him. Question do you recall and this
- 2:12Speaker 1: is going back a little bit, but do you recall
- 2:14Speaker 1: whether from her point of view, if she was hurt
- 2:16Speaker 1: by that. I'm surprised by that. Said, that's perfectly in
- 2:19Speaker 1: line with what I know about Jeffrey do you know
- 2:22Speaker 1: anything about her reaction to that? Answer? I would be guessing,
- 2:26Speaker 1: but I would assume she was hurt by that question.
- 2:30Speaker 1: No specific recollection of anything she might have said or
- 2:33Speaker 1: how specifically she reacted in conversations with you. Answer nothing
- 2:37Speaker 1: I can specifically recall. Question did miss Maxwell ever express
- 2:40Speaker 1: concern that her own actions with respect to mister Epstein
- 2:44Speaker 1: may have been criminal or ethically problematic? Answer not that
- 2:47Speaker 1: I can recall. Question did miss Maxwell ever say that
- 2:51Speaker 1: she had engaged in sexual activity with mister Epstein and
- 2:54Speaker 1: other women? Answer not that I can recall. Question you described,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I think, in general terms, the nature of your relationship
- 3:01Speaker 1: with mister Epstein over the course of your relationship with
- 3:05Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell, and that was not very much. It sounds
- 3:08Speaker 1: like we describe maybe three interactions that you can recall.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Is that ballpark fair? Answer? Yeah? Three or four? Question?
- 3:16Speaker 1: And one of those was one on one and that's
- 3:19Speaker 1: the meeting we previously discussed. Answer yes, question, what do
- 3:23Speaker 1: you recall about the nature of the other two or three? Answer?
- 3:27Speaker 1: So they're just brief encounters like on the street, or
- 3:30Speaker 1: one was in New York and one was in St. Bart's.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Question does the dinner in Hong Kong. Is that being
- 3:35Speaker 1: counted as one of these two or three? Answer? Yes,
- 3:38Speaker 1: one of those four for that I can recall. Question Okay,
- 3:42Speaker 1: what was the Saint Bart's interaction? Answer? I was literally
- 3:45Speaker 1: walking down the street. Question in town? Answer in town?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Question what did you generally know or believe if anything
- 3:52Speaker 1: about Epstein's personal life? Answer? Not much? Question did you
- 3:57Speaker 1: know or hear at all about whether he was dad? Answer?
- 4:01Speaker 1: On the two occasions that I ran into him, he
- 4:03Speaker 1: had someone who I assumed was a girlfriend with him,
- 4:06Speaker 1: it was the same female each time. Question I'm sorry
- 4:09Speaker 1: the two were insane parts? And what was the other?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Answer in New York? Question new York got it? Can
- 4:15Speaker 1: you describe anything? Can you recall about that person? Answer?
- 4:19Speaker 1: She looked like a model type, appeared to be in
- 4:21Speaker 1: her lower twenties. Eastern European, I believe. Question and did
- 4:25Speaker 1: mister Epstein introduce you to her? Answer? I think so.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I think miss Maxwell knew her and knew her name.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I don't recall her name. Question what allows you to
- 4:34Speaker 1: recall that she was Eastern European? Answer? I heard her accent?
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think. Question did mister Epstein ever talk to you
- 4:41Speaker 1: about his dating or social life. Answer no question. Did
- 4:45Speaker 1: you ever spend time with Epstein or any of his
- 4:47Speaker 1: girlfriends or romantic interests, let's say, apart from the two
- 4:51Speaker 1: interactions that you just described, Answer no question. Did you
- 4:56Speaker 1: ever have any concerns about miss Maxwell's work for or
- 4:59Speaker 1: associate with mister Epstein, let's say, apart from the general
- 5:03Speaker 1: issue of him being her ex boyfriend? Answer no, that
- 5:07Speaker 1: was the primary one. He did seem to have significant
- 5:10Speaker 1: influence over her. She did always kind of look up
- 5:13Speaker 1: to him, and that was not comfortable with that question.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Did you say she it was your perception that she
- 5:20Speaker 1: did kind of look up to him? Is that right? Answer? Yes.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Question if you can recall other examples or general sort
- 5:27Speaker 1: of energy, what gave you that perception? Answer comments that
- 5:30Speaker 1: she made. Question you may not remember in a photographic sense,
- 5:36Speaker 1: but could you give me just a general sense of
- 5:38Speaker 1: what an example comment might be. Answer his financial acumen,
- 5:43Speaker 1: investing expertise. Question And do you have a perception as
- 5:48Speaker 1: to whether that because she wasn't the only one I
- 5:50Speaker 1: think that felt that way about him, did you have
- 5:52Speaker 1: a perspective, given your background and professional accomplishments, as to
- 5:56Speaker 1: whether the reputation was warranted or not. Answer no question,
- 6:00Speaker 1: no perspective at all. Answer it always seemed a little
- 6:04Speaker 1: suspect to me. Question what would give you that impression? Answer?
- 6:08Speaker 1: You know, the type of financial returns he was supposed
- 6:10Speaker 1: to generate were kind of Miss Callen jumps in impossible,
- 6:14Speaker 1: mister Waite. Yeah, I mean I wouldn't say impossible, but
- 6:17Speaker 1: unheard of, I guess, you know. And then when I
- 6:20Speaker 1: looked at his assets, most of them seem to come
- 6:22Speaker 1: from mister Wexner. He gets cut off by somebody asking
- 6:26Speaker 1: him question redacted question, Yeah, what was your impression of
- 6:30Speaker 1: what mister Epstein did for a living? Answer that he
- 6:33Speaker 1: managed money for other people, for a small list of
- 6:35Speaker 1: select clients. That's what was described to me. Question was
- 6:40Speaker 1: it your understanding that Les Wexner was some sort of
- 6:42Speaker 1: primary or the main client? Answer at one point? Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Question did miss Maxwell ever talk about mister Epstein's relationship
- 6:50Speaker 1: with mister Wexner? Answer yes. Question do you remember the
- 6:55Speaker 1: general nature of that as Miss Maxwell described it, whether
- 6:59Speaker 1: from a personal relationship point of view, business relationship, or
- 7:03Speaker 1: how did she characterize it? Answer? When they were dating?
- 7:06Speaker 1: I think they spent a lot of time in Ohio,
- 7:08Speaker 1: with mister Wexner and his wife. Question did she ever
- 7:12Speaker 1: describe anything related to her time in Ohio or her
- 7:15Speaker 1: knowledge of mister Epstein's time in Ohio that raised any
- 7:19Speaker 1: kind of ethical or criminal concerns? Answer no, not that
- 7:22Speaker 1: I recall. Question. I think we've had at least one,
- 7:26Speaker 1: maybe a couple members join if they could identify themselves.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Mister Walkinshaw from Virginia's eleventh District, James Comer, Chairman House
- 7:34Speaker 1: Oversight Committee, Kentucky. Question, prior to becoming public knowledge, did
- 7:39Speaker 1: you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the sexual
- 7:42Speaker 1: abuse that Jeffrey Epstein was committing against miners and young women?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Answer no. Question prior to it becoming public knowledge? Did
- 7:50Speaker 1: you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the sexual
- 7:52Speaker 1: abuse that Glayinne Maxwell was facilitating and committing against miners
- 7:57Speaker 1: and young women? Answer no question. Did you ever engage
- 8:01Speaker 1: in sexual activity with someone who was introduced to you
- 8:03Speaker 1: by Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer no question. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: want to get a little bit more specific, and that is,
- 8:11Speaker 1: for example, one plaintiff in twenty seventeen alleged that she
- 8:15Speaker 1: was abused by Epstein between October of two thousand and
- 8:18Speaker 1: six and April of two thousand and seven, and that
- 8:20Speaker 1: somewhere in that date range, Miss Maxwell coerced her into
- 8:24Speaker 1: sexual compliance. She alleges she once tried to escape the
- 8:28Speaker 1: Epstein Island after she was verbally abused and threatened by
- 8:31Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell, among others. That would be in the range
- 8:34Speaker 1: of when Miss Maxwell and you were dating, So to
- 8:37Speaker 1: be very clear, you never had any knowledge of the
- 8:39Speaker 1: allegations that I just described. Answer no, but I find
- 8:43Speaker 1: those very upsetting. Question did miss Maxwell go to mister
- 8:46Speaker 1: Epstein's island a lot while you were dating? Answer not
- 8:49Speaker 1: that I can recall. Question can you recall any instance
- 8:53Speaker 1: of Miss Maxwell going to Epstein's island while you were dating?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Answer no, I don't recall any instance where she went
- 8:59Speaker 1: to the island. Question. In twenty twenty one, in its
- 9:03Speaker 1: indictment against Miss Maxwell, the Department of Justice claimed that
- 9:07Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell assisted, facilitated, contributed to Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of
- 9:12Speaker 1: minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit,
- 9:16Speaker 1: groom and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein
- 9:20Speaker 1: to be under the age of eighteen. The victims were
- 9:23Speaker 1: as young as fourteen years old when they were groomed
- 9:26Speaker 1: and abused by Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom knew
- 9:30Speaker 1: that certain victims were in fact under the age of eighteen. So,
- 9:34Speaker 1: again for crystal clarity, you had no knowledge of abuse
- 9:37Speaker 1: of any kind by mister Epstein or miss Maxwell during
- 9:41Speaker 1: the time that you were in a relationship with Miss Maxwell.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Answer that is correct. Question. I think we've had another
- 9:48Speaker 1: member join if they could just identify themselves for the record.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Congressman Sujas Submarannium. Question, if you recall at what point
- 9:58Speaker 1: did you become aware that mister Epstein had been arrested
- 10:00Speaker 1: for solicitation of prostitution. Answer I don't recall exactly when
- 10:05Speaker 1: I became aware of that. Question If we say that
- 10:08Speaker 1: occurred in July of two thousand and six, would you
- 10:11Speaker 1: estimate that you learned about it maybe within a couple
- 10:13Speaker 1: of weeks of it happening, or was this something that
- 10:16Speaker 1: not until years later did somebody reveal it to you.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Answer it was probably months months later. It was when
- 10:24Speaker 1: he was serving a sentence. Question okay, so that would
- 10:27Speaker 1: not have occurred until at least a couple of years later.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Answer okay. Question, So, to the best of your recollection,
- 10:33Speaker 1: is that for at least that in between time between
- 10:37Speaker 1: the arrest and the sentence you were not informed and
- 10:39Speaker 1: were not aware. Answer no, I was not aware. Question
- 10:43Speaker 1: for his arrest in mid two thousand and six, Let's say,
- 10:46Speaker 1: to the best of your memory, what would you recall
- 10:48Speaker 1: about Miss Maxwell's relationship with Epstein at that point? Was
- 10:52Speaker 1: she still working for him? Was it beginning to tape
- 10:55Speaker 1: her off? Answer? I believe her work relationship with him
- 10:58Speaker 1: by two thousand and six been minimal from what she
- 11:01Speaker 1: had told me. Question do you recall roughly at what
- 11:04Speaker 1: point you would have become aware that Epstein had pled
- 11:07Speaker 1: guilty to solicitation and solicitation of a minor So that
- 11:11Speaker 1: happened in June of two thousand and eight. Would you
- 11:13Speaker 1: estimate that you learned about that pretty quickly after it
- 11:16Speaker 1: happened or was it also a pretty big lag? Answer? Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 1: I'm not exactly sure when he was serving the time
- 11:23Speaker 1: when he was on that work release program, but that's
- 11:25Speaker 1: when it was happening. That was when I first remember
- 11:28Speaker 1: learning about that, And I don't know if I ever
- 11:31Speaker 1: get or evennew the specific charges. Miss Maxwell always downplayed
- 11:36Speaker 1: that fairly significantly. Question did you have any recollection of
- 11:40Speaker 1: maybe the first time Miss Maxwell sort of. I assume
- 11:43Speaker 1: it was miss Maxwell would have been the one to
- 11:45Speaker 1: inform you about mister Epstein's legal trouble, Is that right? Answer? Yes,
- 11:50Speaker 1: Question do you have any recollection of that first time
- 11:52Speaker 1: that she would have broached the topic with you? Answer? No, Sorry,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I don't. Do you have any recollection of the general
- 11:59Speaker 1: nature of how she described mister Epstein's troubles, I mean,
- 12:02Speaker 1: you mentioned it seemed like she downplayed them. Can you
- 12:05Speaker 1: just elaborate on that a little bit? Answer? Yeah, Again,
- 12:08Speaker 1: I don't specifically recall what she would have said. You know,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I think she said that there was a plea agreement.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I don't remember the exact details, but you know that
- 12:17Speaker 1: he got some work release situation, probably because it wasn't
- 12:20Speaker 1: that serious kind of that kind of way she portrayed it.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Question did she ever describe the possible or definite involvement
- 12:28Speaker 1: of miners in Epstein's legal troubles? Answer not that I
- 12:31Speaker 1: can recall. Question and this plea included a charge of
- 12:34Speaker 1: solicitation of the miners specifically, did she, as far as
- 12:38Speaker 1: you remember, did she ever mention that? Answer? Not that
- 12:42Speaker 1: I can recall. Question and it sounds like you never
- 12:45Speaker 1: became aware of that through the newspaper or any kind
- 12:47Speaker 1: of public source. Answer No, I don't recall there being
- 12:50Speaker 1: a lot of press around that at the time. Apparently
- 12:53Speaker 1: there was some, but I don't remember seeing anything in
- 12:55Speaker 1: the press about it. Question And you're either personal or
- 12:59Speaker 1: business circles other associations of yours, they weren't such that
- 13:03Speaker 1: you would have been kind of word of mouth. Hey,
- 13:05Speaker 1: did you hear what happened to Jeffrey? Nothing like that
- 13:07Speaker 1: ever occurred? Answer no, I don't recall that happening. Question
- 13:13Speaker 1: And looking back, is that not surprising to you? In
- 13:15Speaker 1: other words, was mister Epstein really not somebody that you
- 13:18Speaker 1: or your associates would be commenting on? Answer yeah. I
- 13:22Speaker 1: didn't spend a lot of time with them, so it wasn't,
- 13:24Speaker 1: and neither did a lot of people that I hung
- 13:27Speaker 1: out with. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up right there,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 13:32Speaker 1: gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 13:34Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 13:37Speaker 1: description box.
