- 4:30Speaker 2: DJ, you just one super easy trivia.
- 4:34Speaker 1: There's three things you need to know you with the
- 4:37Speaker 1: Elama Show.
- 4:38Speaker 2: All lanes of two eighty at pump House Road are
- 4:41Speaker 2: now I'll open after being closed for the weekend for construction.
- 4:44Speaker 4: There are so many people that are so happy right now.
- 4:47Speaker 2: There will be future weekend closures to finish the project,
- 4:50Speaker 2: but as of right now, you can drive on to
- 4:52Speaker 2: eighty with your normal morning traffic and no extra traffic.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Do you see Brittany was hanging out with Kim Kardashian
- 4:59Speaker 2: over the weekend.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yes, Kim, Chloe and Brittany all hanging out together.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yes, they were all over social media having a pajama party.
- 5:07Speaker 4: It's either fo this is my thought.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's either for because Kim Kardashian owned Skims, which is
- 5:13Speaker 2: a shapewear brand. It's either because Brittany is doing something
- 5:17Speaker 2: for Skims for Kim or Kim's planning on being Britney's
- 5:21Speaker 2: lawyer if she can ever pass the bar exam. If
- 5:25Speaker 2: one of the two, we'll see what happens. We may
- 5:28Speaker 2: be getting a La Boo Boo movie.
- 5:30Speaker 4: A La Boo Boo movie, you know, the.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Little scary toy that all the kids love. Right now,
- 5:35Speaker 2: that's going crazy, that's popular. Sony Pictures just secured the
- 5:38Speaker 2: rights to develop a feature film based on La Boo Boo,
- 5:42Speaker 2: those creepy little dolls. They want to create a movie
- 5:45Speaker 2: and then possibly a franchise based on based on La
- 5:49Speaker 2: Boo Boo exactly. It was just signed this week, so
- 5:52Speaker 2: we don't know who the producer or a filmmaker is yet,
- 5:54Speaker 2: but as we find out more so will you and
- 5:56Speaker 2: your kids will probably be going crazy for it.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Unless it's a horror probably.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's three things you need to know more At the
- 6:04Speaker 2: Alabama Show dot com.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You were listening to the Alabama Show.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Erica, good morning. What's your issue for ask Alabama?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Well, my dad's a lawyer and she's pushing me.
- 6:16Speaker 4: To go to law school ever since I was.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Like five years old and he's still not stopping with it.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, what was he telling you as a
- 6:24Speaker 2: five year old.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Be a lawyer, Like, how was he?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:28Speaker 3: So in middle school he actually dropped the el, sat
- 6:30Speaker 3: on my lap and study it.
- 6:34Speaker 4: What kind of law?
- 6:35Speaker 2: I don't want to know what the law farm is
- 6:37Speaker 2: or anything, but what type of law.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Does your dad practice?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Well he's even big law.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Okay, so he's pretty intense and he's like very into
- 6:49Speaker 4: like prestige and all that.
- 6:50Speaker 7: But he wants it to be generational.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And he wants me to do it.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I was just like he did.
- 6:55Speaker 1: So it's very much pricing.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Ask him if he's saying Kim Kardashian, she has filled
- 7:00Speaker 2: the bar exam like five times already.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but he told me that I'm smarter than her, so.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I can do.
- 7:06Speaker 2: If you don't want to be in law, what do
- 7:08Speaker 2: you actually want to do?
- 7:10Speaker 4: Honestly?
- 7:11Speaker 3: Like I love the Greeks, so like I'd rather do
- 7:14Speaker 3: something that's more science face, I'd rather be a professor,
- 7:17Speaker 3: leading or something.
- 7:18Speaker 4: So that's a good one.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Like I thought you were going to say you wanted
- 7:20Speaker 2: to be an Instagram influencer.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I think scientists is a really great profession, thank you.
- 7:27Speaker 7: But he clearly doesn't see the value in it right now,
- 7:30Speaker 7: So that's interesting.
- 7:31Speaker 4: How is that causing fights?
- 7:33Speaker 6: Like?
- 7:33Speaker 4: What are the conversations like at home? Now?
- 7:35Speaker 2: Well, he says, like, AI's good to go over scientist's
- 7:38Speaker 2: pointless to be fair is going to take over law?
- 7:41Speaker 5: I mean you can just make the same argument either way.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I know, But he said, like, you know, we'll always
- 7:46Speaker 2: want human representation.
- 7:48Speaker 4: And you've told him you don't want to be a lawyer.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But has he given you any ultimatums or anything or
- 7:53Speaker 2: taken anything away from you? He says, like, you know,
- 7:56Speaker 2: I he will not support me with list and I'll
- 8:00Speaker 2: have to pay my own tuition for grad school if it's.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Not for law.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Are you kidding me?
- 8:06Speaker 6: No, I'm not.
- 8:06Speaker 4: What are you gonna do?
- 8:08Speaker 2: I think I have some.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Doubt, like I have to start over and make the
- 8:11Speaker 1: life for my own.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I this is like a Disney Princess movie starting current style.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I love this.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Look, let's see if we can get some advice for you.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I say, follow your heart and do what you want
- 8:22Speaker 2: to do. Because your dad, if he loves you, he
- 8:25Speaker 2: shouldn't start giving you ultimatums and forcing you to do
- 8:28Speaker 2: what he wants you to do. But I guarantee you
- 8:31Speaker 2: you are not the only person listening to the show
- 8:33Speaker 2: that has a parent like this for whatever the profession is,
- 8:36Speaker 2: So call in eight three three five oh one. Bama
- 8:39Speaker 2: is the number if your parents have done this to you.
- 8:42Speaker 2: That's eight three three five oh one two two six two.
- 8:45Speaker 1: If you're listening to the Alabama Show on demand, Katie,
- 8:48Speaker 1: good morning.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Do you have good news?
- 8:51Speaker 3: No? I was actually calling in about the parents taking
- 8:54Speaker 3: over for the you know, yeah, they wouldn't take for
- 8:56Speaker 3: their college.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Has this happened to you?
- 8:59Speaker 3: No, I'm that parent.
- 9:01Speaker 4: What are you trying to make your kid do?
- 9:03Speaker 2: Well?
- 9:04Speaker 3: In my defense, I had a very good reason.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Okay, when my son.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Was seventeen, he was going into the Marine Corps. He
- 9:10Speaker 3: wanted to, and the only way he could go at
- 9:13Speaker 3: seventeen was if I signed for him. Okay, well, the
- 9:16Speaker 3: only way I signed for him is if he agreed
- 9:17Speaker 3: to do any other thing other than infantry.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, So you were looking out for his safety.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I get that. So what did he what's he.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Do with I found the day I found out, the
- 9:28Speaker 3: day that he left for basic training, he signed up
- 9:29Speaker 3: for infantry.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Oh no, so he didn't even do what you said.
- 9:35Speaker 3: He didn't, But he's happy and I've gotten a closer
- 9:38Speaker 3: relationship with the lords. If I pray a lot more.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Absolutely, I believe it.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Well, I love that story, and that is totally understandable
- 9:46Speaker 2: right now. Oh my goodness. Well, you know I love
- 9:50Speaker 2: you for being a military mom. Thank you for sharing
- 9:53Speaker 2: that story, and also thank your son for his service
- 9:56Speaker 2: for us.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Absolutely, thank you so much.
- 9:59Speaker 1: We're listening to the The Alabama Show on demand.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Have your parents ever tried to force you to do
- 10:04Speaker 2: a job you didn't want to do? Me, mom, my
- 10:05Speaker 2: grandmother was really mad when I told her I wanted
- 10:08Speaker 2: to do radio. She wanted me to be a doctor.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Could you imagine me being your doctor?
- 10:12Speaker 4: I wouldn't. I would be like that. I'm not risking it.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Eight three three five I one and Bama is the number.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Because Erica's dad wants her to be a lawyer. You
- 10:21Speaker 2: can also comment on Facebook. April had a good idea.
- 10:25Speaker 2: She said, get scholarships and loans, but also Marie said,
- 10:30Speaker 2: go to law school so your dad still pays for it,
- 10:33Speaker 2: but also get a double major.
- 10:35Speaker 4: You know how hard is to do a double major.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I know that's so much worse, especially as a physicist
- 10:40Speaker 5: and a lawyer.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I know Erica's dad told her if she did not
- 10:44Speaker 2: go to school to be a lawyer, he would not
- 10:46Speaker 2: pay for her.
- 10:46Speaker 4: School, but he would if she went to be a lawyer.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Do you have parents like this? Call the show eight
- 10:51Speaker 4: three three five oh one. Bama is the number.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's what the hell headlines?
- 10:57Speaker 4: What the hell are you talking about?
- 10:59Speaker 1: On the show?
- 11:01Speaker 2: A new app lets you talk to deceased loved ones.
- 11:06Speaker 4: I don't like that. It's so weird. It's an AI startup.
- 11:11Speaker 2: They just released an app that lets you communicate with
- 11:13Speaker 2: your loved ones after they pass away. They claim that
- 11:16Speaker 2: three minutes a video of like your loved One is
- 11:19Speaker 2: enough for them to build a realistic avatar that you
- 11:23Speaker 2: can communicate with forever.
- 11:26Speaker 4: How does that what your facetiming and avatar like? It's
- 11:30Speaker 4: an all.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know you.
- 11:37Speaker 2: If you like free music, come hang out with us
- 11:39Speaker 2: today because what is it?
- 11:40Speaker 4: It's to just show up show.

- 11:51Speaker 4: I will get there a little bit early.
- 11:53Speaker 2: That's workplay today at noon here's the best seat on
- 11:58Speaker 2: a plane to overcome your fear of flying.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Are you a scared flyer?
- 12:02Speaker 2: No?
- 12:02Speaker 4: I like flying. Okay, I used to get nervous too.
- 12:04Speaker 2: A frequent flyer just shared this tip to help get
- 12:07Speaker 2: rid of anxiety. She said, get a seat over the
- 12:09Speaker 2: wing towards the back end of the plane, because statistically
- 12:13Speaker 2: this area has a high survival rate in the unlikely
- 12:17Speaker 2: event of a crash. Plus, the seat over the wing
- 12:20Speaker 2: is also where you don't feel as much turbulence.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You'll feel it less, so over the wing. Oh okay,
- 12:25Speaker 4: I like the wing. That's where you want to go.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Here's how much to tip for the holidays, according to
- 12:30Speaker 2: care dot com.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Okay, let's hear this.
- 12:33Speaker 2: They say who you tip also depends on your relationship
- 12:36Speaker 2: with them and budget. I'm gonna give you the profession,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and you tell me how much you would tip, and
- 12:40Speaker 2: then I'm going to tell you how much you're supposed
- 12:42Speaker 2: to tip hairdresser, uh twenty percent for the holidays.
- 12:47Speaker 4: For the holidays, twenty five percent up to.
- 12:50Speaker 2: The cost of one session or a gift. If you
- 12:53Speaker 2: tip well the rest of the year, it says you
- 12:56Speaker 2: need to How much do you tip your handyman.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I'm the handyman. Twenty five to fifty dollars for the holidays.
- 13:04Speaker 4: A dog walker or pet sitter.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I wouldn't fifty to two hundred dollars.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So you've met my dogs. They need a two hundred
- 13:14Speaker 4: dollar tip for my dogs.
- 13:16Speaker 2: My dogs are wild at a babysitter. How much would
- 13:19Speaker 2: you tip a babysitter?
- 13:20Speaker 5: Those deserve more of this.
- 13:21Speaker 2: My children one hundred bugs one day or evenings pay
- 13:26Speaker 2: for regular sitters, plus a small gift from the kids.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Now this is for the holidays, not year round. For
- 13:32Speaker 2: the holidays because they needed the tip a little extra.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It is Christmas time. They should have some extra money.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And that's three things you need to know more at
- 13:41Speaker 2: the Alabama Show dot com.

- 14:17Speaker 2: actors are you gonna meet any famous people.
- 14:19Speaker 7: It is gonna be on Netflix. It is gonna be
- 14:23Speaker 7: on some other streaming but I cannot say the title

- 14:29Speaker 7: very big.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Is your part gonna be big?
- 14:31Speaker 7: It's my very first part, only eleven lines, but that's

- 15:10Speaker 2: The Walking Dead.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I feel like you're like that guy.
- 15:12Speaker 7: Well, also, I am auditioning for a role for another
- 15:16Speaker 7: film being shot in Birmingham. That is a drug dealer position.
- 15:20Speaker 7: I've never done that before, but I can. I can
- 15:23Speaker 7: educate myself.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Stop it.

- 15:40Speaker 2: By the way, thank you for listening to the Alabama Show.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm Alabama with producer Blake. I saw the coolest thing
- 15:45Speaker 2: this weekend. So I was on the Starbucks line waiting
- 15:49Speaker 2: to get my coffee.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Right as per usual, there is a car in front
- 15:52Speaker 4: of me.
- 15:52Speaker 2: It was a guy and his dog, and his dog
- 15:54Speaker 2: was hanging out the window.
- 15:56Speaker 4: You know me, I'm the animal lover of the show.
- 15:58Speaker 2: As a German shepherd, I have a soft spot for
- 16:00Speaker 2: German shepherds. Yeah, so I'm in my car like making
- 16:03Speaker 2: faces at the dog, going are so cute?
- 16:07Speaker 4: You get on my nerves. Sometimes I don't care. Going

- 19:17Speaker 4: to ride.
- 19:18Speaker 2: From my neighbor's house on the golf cart down to
- 19:22Speaker 2: the coop at night, and then he has to go
- 19:24Speaker 2: pick them up and drive them back up to the house.
- 19:26Speaker 4: On the golf cart. They literally ride with them on
- 19:29Speaker 4: a golf cart. I didn't and a turkey does he

- 19:46Speaker 4: Taking a rid? They ride on the golf cart.
