- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Without further ado, let's dive in.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Hi guys and welcome to another episode of the TFS Wealthcast.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: This is the last episode of season one, so it's gonna be a banger.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: So if you if you haven't uh been in the loop of what TFS has been up to, we just released our exclusive TFS loyalty program.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: We launched it on the 1st of October, and today we are gonna deep dive into the TFS Loyalty Program, what led to it, how it uh how it came into being what it is, and who better to answer all these questions than our founder and director, Mr.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Pramu Rodrigo.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So, ladies and gentlemen, without any further ado, Pramu, take it away.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Thank you for having me.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: So I I understand that you have a few questions to ask about uh the TFS loyalty program.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: People need to know absolutely why Pramo, why the DFS?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: It's it's one of those things, man.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Uh loyalty programs.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so so let's jump straight into it.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So, Pramu, why?
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know the uh Simon Sinek's Golden Circle, yeah, right?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I think we all know that.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: We I hope I mean for anyone that doesn't know, please Google it.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Why, what what was the what is the purpose of the TFS loyalty program?
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Please take it away.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so see the TFS loyalty program um is is that particular word called the loyalty, right?
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: So that is something that is very close to me, uh, that that that word, because my first client, TFS, I had, I won't say the name uh surname, but I can say his first name, Michael.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Michael, if you're listening, mate, uh, you know.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Which Michael?
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: You have so many clients named Michael.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: The first client that that Michael knows he's the first client, he knows the very first client.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um he's still a client of mine to this date.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: How many years has it been?
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: That's that's that's uh that's over a decade ago.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, right.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: That's loyalty right there.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: That that that's you know what I'm talking about.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Now, from that day, uh we have clients still with us, hasn't moved anywhere, they haven't even gone to any other bank to even check it out and come back, you know?
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Because they trust you.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that that that is a loyalty.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Now, this loyalty is a two-way stream, by the way.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: So as as as my clients have the loyalty towards the brand and myself, I have the same thing to them.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Now, as an example, if Michael calls me Saturday or Sunday or whatever the time, right?
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, he he you know he he's not a guy who bothers me.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, don't don't don't get me wrong, right?
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but if he calls for any urgency, I'm there.
- 3:04unknown: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: And and and sometimes we talk about uh wealth creation.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: He and I sometimes talk about changing jobs.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: And it's nothing to do with nothing, it's nothing to do with the loans.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: You just sometimes ask it, dude, you know, I got this offer, what do you reckon?
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Should I take it?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: You know, and we talk about things, you know, whether whether whether this is the right place for you.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Kind of, you know.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: So clearly the relationship you guys have is not a transactional relationship.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I would say it's more like a transformational relationship.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: So so this loyalty is a very, very uh uh commonly used word in in TFS with our customers.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: And your employees.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And the employees, that's the thing.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: That's why like dogs, this get extended, right?
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: So so I mean, as as a lot of people know, we did certain restructuring in the company.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: There are certain reasons for that, right?
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: It's because of the loyalty.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Loyalty must be rewarded, and who are people who are loyal to our brand, employees, to customers, they all know who we are and how we do things, and and and and why we do it, most importantly.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: As as we discuss about the golden circle, why we do it.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: It's not about uh uh uh doing a home loan and getting the lowest rate to us.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: It's not just about that.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Because any broker can get you the lowest rates in the market.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: You don't need a broker to do it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Just go to the bank, yeah.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Just go to the bank or go go online.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: We are in we are in in one of those uh eras.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: There are enough and more platforms that will help you compare rates from different locals.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: So so um with with the T with TFS and and when I started the business, myself and Sonali, it it wasn't about uh doing a home loan and uh earning some money out of it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: It wasn't actually it wasn't about that.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Um in fact, I didn't want to do home loans.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I actually started because of my my property investor clients asked me to do it.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: So the reason they asked me to do it was because they they knew I'm not gonna be doing a transaction with them.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: It's about I'm doing the right thing for them for that particular moment or particular property, whatever the structure they need, I will give that structure.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: They knew that.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and comparing Sunali's financial planning background and your finance and property uh investment background, your I'm pretty sure your uh property clients they have more than five, six properties, the very first clients, plus some might be even having some over 10, 15 as well.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: There are a few clients over 15 too.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Because you you always focus on building a property portfolio.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: It's all about the progress, right?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So um so so the the this is why I started TFS, rebranded the name, previous company named to TFS, and and and we started helping the clients to get the right finance option.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: So it's not revenue versus secondary item.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: It's gonna come anyway.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: It's not something that we wake up for.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: We wake up for for our clients the solutions and the strategy that that's what excites me.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: So we thought what's the best way to reward our clients?
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: It we need to reward our clients, but not in the way the others reward.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: So basically, you saw you saw a problem in the market, right?
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Or or in our particular industry, and then with the with the TFS and LOLC partnership, yeah, you saw something different.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Uh with uh you know, working with uh uh chairman at LOLC, Isharan Akrara, um we we think very differently.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: We he and I sometimes sit down and and and discuss certain things and then you know once the conversation finishes up, it's it there's a product.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's so weird.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I don't even think that's gonna there's gonna be a product coming out, but it's a it's a it's it's a crazy combination.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: I think the two brands also resonate that, right?
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: It's it's two, it's it's a crazy combination.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: So I saw an opportunity, Ishara also saw an opportunity, rewarding our customers who uh who have been loyal to us.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And this is not just the usual, you know, buy two coffees, get the third free.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: This is not that kind of rewards.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: This is rewarding, this is rewarding forever, pretty much.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can stay with us forever.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're retiring, your your children can come to TFS and get loyalty points.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: You know, it's it's keep going.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: So the opportunity was there for us.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: And and we we grabbed it, we did it, we designed it, and uh we we made it in a in a in a tier-based level.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: So we we want tier one to be inspired to be the tier tier two, you know, tier two, tier three, right?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And also while accumulating more loyalty points, they also grow their wealth.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, because they buy their first home.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: And and our points don't expire, by the way.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Now, these are these are some of the things that don't exist in the market.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: We are we are we are the first to do it, and I reckon we'll be the first to we'll be the only one to do it, to be honest with you.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I mean uh the the the villas and hotels we have are exclusive to us, anyway.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, if somebody wants to take it, they have to pay for a lot of money.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they basically gotta buy buy out the company.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So so that that's a bit about the why, right?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: The purpose, what what drove you guys to uh uh uh bring in this TFS loyalty program.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Now, if we were to jump into the how Pramod, the the strategy that uh you utilized for the loyalty program.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, before I jump into the how I want to I want to highlight one thing.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: When a simple client comes in, a first home buyer comes into TFS, they want what?
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: They want to get a home loan to buy their home.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: The reason they want to buy their home, they want to call it theirs.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Their children to run around in the backyard.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Safe place.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, if you don't have some people don't have children, they can still buy a house.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Still buy a house, right?
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, you never know.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Sometimes they might have children, they may not have children.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, some might not want fits.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Have a dog running the like children.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: So it's a safe place, and we understand the safe place.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: When we understand the safe place, we create our product and services around that safe place.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: That's why we do this, that's why we wake up every day, me and Sonali, and all my team members, right?
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: In in in Australia and in other parts of Australia, in other parts of the world as well.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: All my employees, all my team members, rather than me calling them employees, they're not my employees, they're actually my team members, they are they're my partners here.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: They wake up for the same same reason.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: This is this is why the loyalty name resonates in this brand a lot than another brand.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Sometimes here and there, you know, alarm doesn't go off, you know, we she might get late here and there.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: You know, I guess.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: That happens a lot.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, some people are loyal to the brand, some others are loyal to the person.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So now with that out of the way, Pramu, let's talk about the how.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: How you know how how was this loyalty program designed?
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Now, now, of course, you mentioned that you and Mr.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Shah Nani Akare, you guys uh just met up one day and you know, just y'all were throwing ideas around, and then next thing you know, you've got a loyalty program, yeah.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Uh so let's let's let's talk the loyalty program.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: How can a client earn points?
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: So let's dumb it down, like you know, simple, straightforward.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: It's simple, right?
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: So so so when when you have a home loan, with you know with T, by the way, with TFS, we work with all the banks.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Okay now, this is where I play around with the loyalty word.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: I'm not loyal to every bank.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Because if I'm loyal to the bank, to the bank, I gotta be loyal to my clients.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: So that's where we play this game.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: So we we have a we have a wide range of lenders, and we select the right property, right uh uh home loan product or investment loan product, and we we we get that approval for that particular individual.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Let's say hypothetically, you you want to buy your first home, you know, uh you're you're buying a first home for 500,000, 5% deposit, which is$25,000, you get a uh home loan of$475,000.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: You did all that maths in your head.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: You think that's easy, Maths.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Ah, sorry, my my my my brain wasn't braining at that time.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: You know, the math wasn't metting.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Math is not matting.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Math is not matting, that's why I mean marketing, you know.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: So um that person, that$475,000 loan, they get points for that loan when they get initially, they get a bonus points, like you know, on boarding points.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: Then every year, or balance of your home loan also accumulate points.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So we have a system in place.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, we have every uh hundred thousand, we have we have uh 70 points on the first thousand.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So on the on the ones, when you come to home loan for the first year, every hundred thousand dollars, it's 70 points, 70 points, and then afterwards and the year later, every other year you get 20 points per 100,000 in your bank.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: So it it keeps on going.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: So if you increase your home loan or if you go and buy another investment property, that's a new loan, you get the same thing.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: You get 70 points up front on the new loan, and then 20 points every 70 points per hundred thousand dollars.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Remember that.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: If you get a 500,000 is how much 350?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Huh?
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: $500,000 loan, Vishy.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: How many fifty loyalty points pro my god is testing my maths now?
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: He's mapping.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: And guys, if you want to find out more, just go to tfsloyalty.com.au and our website is very descriptive.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: We have a separate website for the loyalty program, and that explains how all the tiers work, gives it shows some examples as well, and it also shows you.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm actually jumping the gun here, but it shows you the villas and hotels you can go redeem these uh these points at.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Now, with that being said, Prabhupada, we have to jump on to the next question because I just let the cat out of the bag.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, what are the benefits?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Where can they use these points, where can they use these points?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Or on what can they use these points?
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: So these points are redeemable with any of our Browns hotels, right?
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Now, Brown's Hotels is part of a loLC holding group, and uh, we are partnered with the LOLC holding group, yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: So, therefore, you get all the benefits like that.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Now, under Brown's Hotels uh chain, you have about 15 properties right now.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So, Browns Hotels has about uh has a hotel and resort portfolio of around nine properties at the moment.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: There are more currently being built, and then they also have their luxury property arm, which is called the Reveal Collection.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Yep, that has about five properties at the moment, but they are currently building two more properties somewhere in Sri Lanka.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: I can't mention at this time, I don't want to mention and get in trouble.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one of those places, one of those places.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: One place is honestly, if you go there, there are more foreigners there than Sri Lanka.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: So, you know, the people who've been into Sri Lanka, they know exactly where we're talking about.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Uh that property will be, I believe, that is uh going to be uh ready by March.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Can we make can we say where it's gonna be open?
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Let's keep it uh, you know, because it's gonna be something crazy as well.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Uh the climate is a bit colder.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's what we can say, you know.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: That's that's where we know.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Uh Wishy's uh uh uh I mean Birthtown.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Is it Birthtown?
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Around that area somewhere.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I wish I was born in one of the cold parts of Sri Lanka, but sadly I wasn't.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, but apparently he's not so maybe his parents were.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, my dad was.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Oh no, no, not from there though, but from another yeah, but around that yeah, yeah, okay.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: See, I'm see I'm I'm always somehow or the other I become the one who told the right thing.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: You know, boss, you know, you know, guys, you know, in in school you can lie, you can lie to your teachers and masters, but there's always the principle you can't lie to.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: That's the same thing at work.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: You know, we can lie to anyone, but we can't lie to Pramo.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: You know, with with promo, we just have to just have to tell him the truth.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, boss, this happened.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: You come up with a bullshit excuse, he's gonna catch you out.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Anyways, that won't fly well.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, so coming back to when you ask a question, I actually went to the website as well.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Like it's one of the one of those beautiful websites uh that you want to spend more time, go and visit and see.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: You know, if you if you if you have anything, uh, you know, if you want to uh give us some feedback, please do, right?
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: And we would love to hear those feedback.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Definitely tfsloyalty.com.au.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: And this is this is one of a kind, right?
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: And and also this is the first time in Australia this kind of a program is happening, right?
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, back to your question.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: So your question is what can they do, right?
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: So we mentioned that they can visit any of the reveal collection of Browns Hotel with us, they can book it with us, yep.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: But they can also, and this is the cool part, they can also buy an airline ticket.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Absolutely points, they can redeem the point to to uh uh buy an airline ticket.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: You know, there are quite a lot of people we know, our customers.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Uh they they fly with their children.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: Tickets are expensive.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: You may not want to go and stay in hotels, you may want to just go uh to Sri Lanka to visit your family, right?
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: So we have quite a number of Sri Lankan customers, right?
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: So they they're not going to stay in hotels, they're just going to see their family.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: They already have enough family places to stay.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Stay.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: So so for them, we we never forget, you know, we we understand that.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is why that loyalty comes in.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: So so they can redeem the points uh uh uh with uh airlines.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna mention the airlines because otherwise, you know, we haven't, you know, we've we we've got we've actually got it's not just the national carrier of Sri Lanka, we've got a few other airlines as well.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Uh some might even surprise you.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Yep, exactly.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: And how that and how the airline ticket works with the loyalty points is each loyalty point is equivalent to one Australian dollar.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: One Australian dollar.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: One Australian dollar.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: So we're not we're not we're not stuffing around here.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: It's it's just as simple as you know, keep it simple for the client, give the value, right?
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: And and and that's that's what the loyalty is about, right?
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: If you if you if you're gonna have certain things uh written for loyalty, then it's not loyalty.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: So if you're someone with a couple of investment properties and home loans on them, you know, you can do the math.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: You know how many loyalty points you can use?
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: So we we have we have we have tiers.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: We have green tier, we have the uh silver tier, we have uh platinum tier, and then we have the gold tier.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Is it the other way around?
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know, but but but we have those.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: We have tiers.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: We have tiers.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Now those the the the top tier, if you if you look at our top tier, you will see uh there are additional benefits.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: The top tier they get, right?
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: They get concierge, get concierge services, you get access to lounges, but the best part, promo, is the fact that uh these are on a few of the higher tiers.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Sorry, sorry, my bad, my bad.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: I need to correct this.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: Yes, green, tier one, tier two is bronze, tier three silver, followed by gold, and uh top tier is the platinum tier.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, I understand where you were coming from because we were playing around with other names, you're trying to use other names of the tiers when you were planning this, so that's probably where the confusion was.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: So, in the future, actually, uh when I was in Sri Lanka this time, I'm we we discussed about actually creating a card, loyalty a logic card.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: It's not a credit card, it's it's it's a loyalty card.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: A loyal card which will have which will also have a chip that you can, you know.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: Again, I think I jumped the gun because spoke about a future product that you have.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: So I might bring this very quickly uh next year.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Um, so if you're a platinum member, you get a platinum card, then and that platinum card you can show at certain places.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: And trust me, that card is gonna look sick because we are designing it in-house.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: The TFS marketing team is gonna do that.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: So you know what do we call what do we call our TFS Studio.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Studio is the best.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: So so coming back to how it works, we we forgot to mention the coolest part about being in one of the higher tiers.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: You can so if you don't want to use your points, yeah, you can actually gift it to your friends and family.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: So we anyway, we we we we were thinking about these points.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: So there were quite a number of obviously me and Ishara, we we we we had this idea, idea came out, everybody loved it, bang, and then the whole team got involved.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Now we go to nitty-gritty, how this point system works, you know, the delivery of it.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: You know how it works, right?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: So it goes to the next level.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: So we just stay behind and and and listen.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: So this was a funny story.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So the story was points.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: No, no, I I don't think so.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so so so the uh the story here is now okay, now points.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Now, points are only for for TFS customers.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Yes, done, redeemable, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: I'm sitting at the back and just listening to all these number crunching, designing the deliveries, and I think hang on.
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: Not everybody goes to Sri Lanka every year, especially Sri Lankans.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Now come on, an Aussie living in in in Melbourne, Gold Coast, wherever wherever you are in Australia, they're gonna use the points.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Trust me, they're gonna use the points.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: But a Sri Lankan family may not.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: So they may want to reward these points to someone of their family members.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: So this idea.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Be one ex-girlfriend, no?
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: It needs to be a family member.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: It needs to be a family member.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: You can't do that.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Ex-girlfriend.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know whether that's you know, that's something.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: I think that's a very, very gray area, so we don't.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna touch on that.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Um so so so so.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Then we came up with no, this is the platinum uh will have a ability to gift.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Now, this is only for Sri Lankans, so what about our Australians?
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: I thought you were gonna say staff, no?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: We have other benefits, yeah.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: You guys have other benefits, no?
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: What about Australians?
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Why can't they gift it?
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: Very simple, yes, they can gift it too.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Basically, anyone who's a TFS customer has loyalty points, can give it it.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: If you're in platinum, you know, if you you you have uh let's say you have you know uh parents who who are in you know retired who who have never seen the beautiful country.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Now you want to gift the points to your parents so that they hop on a plane, go and enjoy our beautiful hotels and resorts, and and enjoy the the beautiful country that and and the amount of things that Sri Lanka offers.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: Every single Australian also who's in the platinum uh tier can gift it too.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, so it is up to you.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Our loyalty doesn't have conditions saying oh you can't do that.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: You can only do we have given tears in a very specific way.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: It is up to you the reason the tears are there to inspire you to create more wealth, right?
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: We will help you do that.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: That's our job when you are at the top tier, you're gonna benefit some crazy cool stuff like this.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: That's another thing.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So we there's more.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Uh we also have a uh a travel partner, uh uh which is also our under our group called Ceylon Roots.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Now, Ceylon Roots can go to the town with it.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: You want to plan your uh trip to Sri Lanka, you redeem your points with with uh uh any of our Brown's hotels, but there are certain types of other hotels you want to go.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Example, you want to go to Wild Coast Tented, you want to go to Yala to see the leopard or the elephants and you know whatever.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: So they can even use these points for experiences the point.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: So with with our our partner partnership with with with the with the uh travel agent Sylon Roots, Ceylon Roots will give you your transport 50% off.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, so that's your transport cost.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: So imagine the transport cost is 50% off.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: These are value-added services.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, these these are platinum level, yeah, okay.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: So these are you know, there will be certain people who come and greet you from the airport.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: You you're not gonna be you're not gonna be looking for your driver.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Driver will come and pick you and take you to the vehicle in a way in a in a manner that you you'll be treated as a V V IP.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: A very, very important person.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Trust me, if you're married, you're not getting that treatment at home.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: So you know uh customer use the points and go alone.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so those are a few things that uh in in uh in the in the platinum package.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: So um I'm not here to brag about it, but I'm here to tell you what it is about.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: No, it's good.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: What can you do with it?
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because a lot of uh how we do it.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because a lot of customers they want to know exactly what the loyalty program is, and we can't put it out in a one-minute video on our social media.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: So that is why we made this episode.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: So we're doing this podcast, right?
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: It's about it's what about 25 minutes now?
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: But I don't know, you can't even go to you know it's it's the deep dive of the TFS loyalty program.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: So if you want to know anything about the TFS loyalty program, you're watching the right episode.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: And if you made it this far, wait till the end of this small secret.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: So now you've spoken about the why, you know, the purpose behind the TFS loyalty program, what led to the TFS loyalty program.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: We spoke about you know how they can use their points, and then we also spoke about what they can use their points on.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Apart from this, honestly, as I think we've covered every every aspect of the DFS loyalty program.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Why don't we why don't we uh why don't we give them uh uh an example okay how it works in the sense like how it feels for them.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: Why don't we just play around with a bit of feelings here?
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: If you want to play around with feelings.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: You know me.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: Sensitive topic, boss.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: I'm a sensitive guy.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: No, no, so all right.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Uh guys, I just want you to know now if you have points.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: If you let's say you have a uh a one one million dollar home loan, it it's not maybe just a one loan, it could be two loans: 500,000 or 600,000 for your uh uh house that you're leaving, 400,000 for your investment.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Total aggregate lending is a million.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: So you get how many points, Vishit?
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Let me uh check your mathematics now.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: It depends.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: It should be easy.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Is this a new loan?
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Or yes, a new loan.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: So you're you're you're you're coming as a as a as a as a new customer.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: That's 700 points right there.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: 70 points for$100,000.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: It's easy, Matt.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Very good.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Simple.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Well done.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: So right, so 700 points.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: These 700 points will get you.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: He put me on the spot.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna get you back, boss.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Um, you are ready for what's coming.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm I'm thinking what is he going but okay.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: So you got 700 points.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: The 700 points you can you you can redeem.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Let's say you like to go to beaches and do some surfing, whale watching.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: But your baby girl, the love of your life, wants to go to the hill country and relax.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: What's the scenery?
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: You've got a million bucks, you've got 700 points, you can do both.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, right?
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: You know, not just whale watching, swim with dolphins.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Ooh, ooh, right?
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: Watch turtles come to show and lay eggs.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: These are these are natural things, right?
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: They're the actual nature.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: So, you know, uh uh first thing comes to my my my mind is the the hotel that we offer from the reveal collection, the the Mirissa, this is at Mirissa Ubuntu Beach Ubuntu Beach, the beach house.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: Beach house is very exclusive.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: I stay there all the time.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're a V V IP there.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: No, I love it because my children has a has has their own little pool, private pool, yeah, right?
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: And it's it's it's from my villa outside.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: They have their own thing.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Straight access.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Straight access.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: So in the night, you know, when I have a drink, I also put my uh feet down to that pool.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: When the kids are asleep, you and uh you and Sonali.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: Sonali only lasts about one hour and she goes because she doesn't like to stay late.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: I I I like you know, it's beach, you know, I want to see night sky, stars, sea breeze.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: So now imagine that imagine that you do that.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Now, my experience, I'll tell you my experience, what happened there after this.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: You go you go there, right?
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: You you experience the the the the the the nature you get to get to experience uh uh you know the whale watching the dolphin, the beaches, beautiful beaches, the the you forgot the food.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: The most important thing you come to I'm coming to the Christmas time, but it's still in November.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: I'm coming to the calories, hang on.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: I've been going to Sri Lanka too much, that's why I've been putting putting up this weight.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: But it's okay, you give Peter Jackson a lot of business, different sizes in different different types, yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: So um you do all that activities and experience, you're really, really happy.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: Now comes the breakfast, lunch, dinner.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: You forgot tea time.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: Wait, I mean he's jumping, you know.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Tea doesn't come after dinner.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's I'm talking about the main meals.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: Ah, the main meals, okay.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: In between, there are so many other meals you can have.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: You know, you you can have high tea.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: My god, that high tea.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: You can't have dinner after that.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: That's that's a lot of food.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: That's a lot of food.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: And and they are so tasty, you cannot stay without eating it.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Plus, when you actually compare the cost, like right, of how how much that would cost in Australia versus how much it actually costs in Sri Lanka when you do the conversion.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: Conversion-wise, but this is the beauty part about the TFS logic, it doesn't even cost you at all.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Because you can use your points to book the property full board, halfboard, or bread and bread.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: So imagine this.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: You can take this home loan with anybody, but you cannot take or witness this experience.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: Jinx.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Only TFS can feel good.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: So imagine this, right?
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: Yes, you you might gain some calories, but it's worth the while those calories.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: The kotu you might you can eat.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, the street kotu.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: All right, boss, let's let's let's stop talking about food.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: I'm getting hungry.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: I'm talking about, you know, what about the hoppers?
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: You know, those hoppers, egg hoppers.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: Egg hoppers, my god, right?
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: This this turned into a commercial.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: No, I know this is our passion.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Like I can do it I'm I'm telling you with with actual genuine passion, dude.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: I'm I had some hoppers this time.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: Can we get hoppers for uh our TFS Christmas party?
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: Fellow is hungry already.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: So things like that.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, the list doesn't there's a this list goes on amount of food, right?
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: And guys, you get to experience all this by just refinancing or even taking a new loan with TFS.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: How good is that?
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: And the best part is you don't pay anything, you only pay the bank your repayments.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's it.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: You don't pay TFS or your broker anything.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: You know, Ozzy, if you if you're listening to this, this is we call it fair income.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Fair income, I you know, just just refinance or get a new loan.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Go and do this.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Get the loud.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Does not cost you experience, Sri Lanka.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: We will make sure, TFS, we will always make sure you get the lowest rate, regardless, right?
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: That is what we have to do anyway.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: And apart from that, they get the best strategy that suits them.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes for some clients, the lowest rate might not be the best option depending on the situation.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: So I can turn this into a sales pitch, but I'm not going to turn it into a sales pitch.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: What I'm trying to say is the emotions out of this is crazy because I'm telling you, because I have personal experience.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Personally experienced it.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: This beach house.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: So I'll finish it off from here.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: This beach house, last time myself, my two my sonali and the two kids were there, about 11:30.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Sorry, not 11:30.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm uh, you know, I have been having a few few whiskeys, and about 12:30 in the morning, the uh the security guard comes and uh uh says, Yo, still up?
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: I am up.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: What's up?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: So I said, come, I'll show you something.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: It's kind of creepy, but I'm like, what?
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: So I asked him what?
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Oh sir, the the turtles are coming to lay eggs.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: So I awoke.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: I've got a video, so I show it to you.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: They're massive turtles, like oh yeah, sea turtles.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: There's big, there's a big girls here.
- 33:45unknown: Right?
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: Big girls?
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, men don't lay eggs, do they?
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, I have to, you know.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: This is marine biology right here.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Just a basics, the ABC here.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Gen Z.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: No wonder you guys are confused.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: So you get to see, I got to see, I got to see.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, turtle comes, they find the place, dig, and they cover it up.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: Cover it up, and then then slowly they vanish.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: Vanish.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Abandon, abandon the babies.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: So I I I videoed I videoed that.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: And then the the guys took me to another place yesterday and said that oh they're they're hatched.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: These there are the you know, there are certain eggs that hatched now after a while.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: Now they are releasing them to the sea.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: You know what's crazy though?
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll sidetrack a bit.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: Turtles they abandon their kids.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: These kids are orphanage, no orphans.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: Baby turtles.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that's another episode.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: We can talk about the band, uh, you know, abandoning kids and abandoning what do you want to talk about?
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: It's it's stay tuned, we will have something to talk about about it.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, right.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: So, so so so that experience for me, I recorded it because my kids were sleeping and Sonari was sleeping as well.
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: Then I showed them in the morning, look, this is what I saw.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: And they're like, Why didn't you wake us up?
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, then I realized I should have I should have done that.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, to be fair to the kids, you do not let them stay up too late, anyways.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: No, so you know, no, it's not nice, no.
