- 1:58Speaker 1: of the wisdom that Jessamine has cultivated and shared in
- 2:03Speaker 1: all of the ways that she serves really for the
- 2:06Speaker 1: collective ascension and betterment of us all. So we are
- 2:12Speaker 1: diving into part two now, and make sure this is
- 2:16Speaker 1: really resonating. Go ahead and share this episode with a friend,
- 2:19Speaker 1: drop a comment on the I g or leave a comment.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Here we go. The quote that's often said that I
- 2:29Speaker 1: think is very often weaponized is you know, I'm a
- 2:34Speaker 1: I'm a soul having a human experience. And I think
- 2:37Speaker 1: that that you know. The thing about a lot of
- 2:40Speaker 1: the beautiful teachings and I and and the quotings that
- 2:43Speaker 1: we hear is you meet it at the level you
- 2:47Speaker 1: have met yourself. And so your your ability to interpret,
- 2:51Speaker 1: your ability to have discernment or to translate divine messages
- 2:56Speaker 1: is still limited by how much healing that you have
- 2:59Speaker 1: done or how deeply you know yourself, and so even
- 3:02Speaker 1: those teachings can be weaponized against ourselves, and so it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: so important to keep like investigating it, you know, and
- 3:12Speaker 1: from the new angle, never be unwilling. Let's saying this
- 3:15Speaker 1: ship for myself. I'm saying, I'm not trying to tell
- 3:17Speaker 1: anybody else. Want to never being afraid to go back
- 3:20Speaker 1: to square one, to just be in the the newness
- 3:25Speaker 1: of it. The god m I think, because there's this
- 3:31Speaker 1: desire to always master or to like get to some
- 3:36Speaker 1: kind of stopping point, and the reality is that if
- 3:39Speaker 1: you are still in the game of life that's not
- 3:43Speaker 1: over it, then it is still there's still plenty to learn,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and you can go back to level one right now,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and it is always level one. It's always there's never
- 3:54Speaker 1: any kind of the truth is so simple and complex
- 3:59Speaker 1: that have to start from the beginning every single day.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And it doesn't even matter what you have, what you
- 4:06Speaker 1: knew before, Like it's irrelevant because because you change, because
- 4:11Speaker 1: you evolved, and that really is the beauty of being
- 4:13Speaker 1: in this duality, like being this this world. It's amazing.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It is so sad sometimes, but it is amazing, and
- 4:23Speaker 1: I think that like it's there's never any preparation for
- 4:28Speaker 1: how there's never any like I mean, there is preparation for,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but there's never any real preparation for like the true
- 4:35Speaker 1: depth of sadness that it can and will get to.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Like if you the longer you live, the more they're
- 4:41Speaker 1: the more whatever the next sad thing is going to be,
- 4:44Speaker 1: it's going to be sad. And it's just like that
- 4:50Speaker 1: part of it is. Um it is a tough pill
- 4:54Speaker 1: to swallow. And I think that I understand all of
- 4:59Speaker 1: the having different reactions to that, you know, like everybody
- 5:03Speaker 1: coming to a different conclusion about that truth. But I
- 5:07Speaker 1: feel like the more that it can or at least
- 5:10Speaker 1: my plan of attack when I'm when I'm practicing over here,
- 5:14Speaker 1: it's just like be in the beginning, fall over, stumble
- 5:23Speaker 1: flat on your face, bloody knows, nurse you're hurting me,
- 5:30Speaker 1: Get back up, try to toddle again. God, I love that. God,
- 5:34Speaker 1: That's beautiful every day as the beginning. But the way
- 5:39Speaker 1: the way I'm experiencing you say that, mm hmm, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: feel it in myselfs you know, because I think and
- 5:48Speaker 1: again I think this goes to mm hmm, there's so
- 5:54Speaker 1: much here and what you just said, Um, the depth
- 5:58Speaker 1: and being willing to begin the depth and being willing
- 6:02Speaker 1: to be a novice each day is the mastery, is
- 6:07Speaker 1: what I'm hearing. And what you said that ability you
- 6:10Speaker 1: are arriving as the master when each day you strip
- 6:14Speaker 1: yourself and begin anew exactly. But it's so hard when
- 6:21Speaker 1: you're also a know it all hermione any granger at
- 6:24Speaker 1: st I'm only humans, good God anyway, Well, and yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 1: it's so you know with the human peace. Um, it's
- 6:35Speaker 1: like what I what I surmise out of that quote
- 6:39Speaker 1: of you know, we are all spiritual beings have any
- 6:41Speaker 1: human experience. I chose to be human right now, and
- 6:45Speaker 1: so I have to honor that. My spirit chose to
- 6:48Speaker 1: be human, So I have to also honor my human
- 6:51Speaker 1: which does mean to something you shared earlier, I can
- 6:54Speaker 1: get mad, I can get piste off at this place.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I can being an acceptance and I think and I
- 7:00Speaker 1: hope that for someone listening this in some way gives
- 7:04Speaker 1: a freedom. Being an acceptance doesn't mean it's your preference,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you know, like being in deep acceptance of something or
- 7:12Speaker 1: the world. It doesn't mean that you like it. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: it doesn't mean that it's where you want to stay,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and it doesn't mean that it's your preference, you know.
- 7:20Speaker 1: It just means I'm accepting that this is right now,
- 7:24Speaker 1: in this moment, whatever a moment is, whatever time is,
- 7:28Speaker 1: that this is what is. And I can still diligently
- 7:32Speaker 1: move towards more, but I can't do it from a
- 7:34Speaker 1: space of against nous for what is currently unfolding. There
- 7:40Speaker 1: has to be a gratitude that even if I don't
- 7:43Speaker 1: understand this, and also even if I don't like it,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have a trust that it's serving a higher purpose
- 7:48Speaker 1: and a higher vision than I have access to as
- 7:51Speaker 1: this current version of me. And I think that that
- 7:56Speaker 1: is the thing that is at least under our most
- 8:00Speaker 1: misunderstood about acceptance is that you don't have to like
- 8:03Speaker 1: it too, accept it like very In fact, nobody said
- 8:06Speaker 1: anything about liking anything. It's just it's a totally different concept.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But I think the acceptance and happiness have somehow been
- 8:16Speaker 1: equated with one another. And so there's this thing of like, like, well,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I'm accepting, so I gotta be happy. You know, you
- 8:23Speaker 1: should be pissed about it, and and you don't. There's
- 8:26Speaker 1: this UM. And honestly, I wouldn't know if this is
- 8:30Speaker 1: like specifically an American thing or not, but I think
- 8:33Speaker 1: at least in America, there is a feeling of like
- 8:36Speaker 1: like you want to constantly be doing better, like always
- 8:40Speaker 1: be on the on the the path of growth and change,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and that if you decide to accept, then that is
- 8:50Speaker 1: the opposite of growth and change, and that no, you
- 8:52Speaker 1: should never be accepting. You should always be seeing something else.
- 8:56Speaker 1: But if you are constantly seeking something else and never accepting,
- 9:01Speaker 1: how do you even know what you're working towards, how
- 9:04Speaker 1: you're you're not even present to what is actually happening.
- 9:08Speaker 1: This is not shade or anybody, Oh, this is self shade.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Like I think that there's a feeling of like like
- 9:14Speaker 1: I have to especially UM as an entrepreneur, as with
- 9:19Speaker 1: someone who shows up in capitalism. I think that there
- 9:24Speaker 1: is this constant check for me of like, Okay, so
- 9:29Speaker 1: what is the motivation here, what's going on? What does
- 9:32Speaker 1: this really have to do with? Because I think that
- 9:34Speaker 1: it can become about striving for striving sake as opposed
- 9:39Speaker 1: to like living in the truth and doing what the
- 9:44Speaker 1: universe is asking. But but then the the yoga practitioner
- 9:50Speaker 1: me is like, but it's just startful though, because you're
- 9:52Speaker 1: still always doing what should have been. Also here literally
- 9:56Speaker 1: talking about alf into a circle all day about philosophy,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and you know, it's so funny, Like I love that
- 10:02Speaker 1: because that is what this is. And I think, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and that's the piece that I think people grow into
- 10:08Speaker 1: an appreciation of when they are working with spiritual teachers
- 10:13Speaker 1: and also people in mastery. It's like, I think we
- 10:17Speaker 1: are always an existential crisis, right, Like we are in peace,
- 10:22Speaker 1: but we are always in a profound philosophical debate inside
- 10:27Speaker 1: of our minds during our experience. Sometimes I'll be out
- 10:30Speaker 1: and people say like, why are you looking like that?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Or sometimes I'll be sitting at a dinner and I
- 10:36Speaker 1: can't help it, like my eyes involuntarily shut and I'll
- 10:39Speaker 1: just sit there like this, and I'm like, I I
- 10:42Speaker 1: am processing in real time, i am investigating. I'm seeing
- 10:48Speaker 1: where what I just heard or shared landed, and then
- 10:52Speaker 1: I'm sending some love there, or I'm I'm filing it
- 10:55Speaker 1: away and saying I will revisit this later. Um, I'm
- 10:58Speaker 1: allowing it to be fed into my cells, you know,
- 11:02Speaker 1: And that's what you know, I guess that's also present
- 11:05Speaker 1: moment awareness and what we strive to experience. But you know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think it it is so important for everyone to
- 11:11Speaker 1: know and you ship in the way that you have
- 11:14Speaker 1: expressed here and also in your books. And I love
- 11:17Speaker 1: that because it gives a permission like, yes you are
- 11:20Speaker 1: in mastery. Yes you are a spiritual guide, you are
- 11:24Speaker 1: a teacher, you are a light worker for this planet.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And you are in your destiny and in your dharma
- 11:30Speaker 1: right now in a in a massive way. And you
- 11:34Speaker 1: are also constantly in a philosophical debate with self. You
- 11:39Speaker 1: are also constantly investigating even the things that you firmly believe.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You know, there's this always this expression of softness and
- 11:50Speaker 1: rigidity and opening um and it's just it. I mean,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I just have to say, from experiencing you in this moment,
- 11:58Speaker 1: it's absolutely exquisite and I feel really grateful. I'm too
- 12:02Speaker 1: curious about two things, One of what your sun moon
- 12:06Speaker 1: rising signs are and to if you consider yourself an
- 12:09Speaker 1: introvert or an extrovert or not. I love these questions.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So first, I'm a double Gemini with the Leo rising
- 12:20Speaker 1: very interest. That was a sneak attack, Okay, I need
- 12:22Speaker 1: the whole natal chart. Do we want to talk about
- 12:26Speaker 1: galactic origins, because there's there's many a place. I come
- 12:31Speaker 1: from the sun, from the central sun, um, also Heydarian, Octorian,
- 12:38Speaker 1: There's so many. You know. I do consider myself to
- 12:42Speaker 1: be an extrovert, but I by nature of my human experience,
- 12:46Speaker 1: I'm an only child raised by a single parent. I
- 12:49Speaker 1: was a latchkey kid and walked myself home and took
- 12:52Speaker 1: care of self. And so the nature of that also
- 12:55Speaker 1: means that though I'm an extrovert, I am always firmly
- 13:00Speaker 1: planted inside of my body in my process, or at
- 13:04Speaker 1: least when even when I wasn't inside of my body,
- 13:06Speaker 1: inside of my head. Um. So yeah, always an investigation. Wow.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I love how a Gemini extrovert could could show up
- 13:16Speaker 1: that way, because that to be well, to be in
- 13:20Speaker 1: your own head, like to be thinking a lot. That
- 13:23Speaker 1: that to me is like deep trademark of the Gemini
- 13:27Speaker 1: is in in thought. But to be in thought and
- 13:31Speaker 1: also like really that that would create a very specific
- 13:37Speaker 1: expression of extroversion. I just think it's fascinating. But I
- 13:41Speaker 1: definitely identify as an introvert. And so what you were
- 13:45Speaker 1: saying about just closing your eyes in conversation with people.
- 13:50Speaker 1: That is like the to be where I'm able to
- 13:53Speaker 1: do that and know that it's okay or well. I
- 13:59Speaker 1: guess it's not even really that. It's more like I
- 14:01Speaker 1: don't care. It's it's called somewhat closer to I don't care.
- 14:05Speaker 1: But being able to feel that, to me, it's like
- 14:08Speaker 1: such a blessing at this stage, because I think there
- 14:11Speaker 1: is mm hmm a not much need for talking most
- 14:17Speaker 1: of the time. I think there's more of a need for,
- 14:20Speaker 1: at least for me, there's a need to receive. And
- 14:24Speaker 1: I think that I feel a lot of pressure to
- 14:26Speaker 1: speak in that that it comes from that. But I
- 14:30Speaker 1: feel like that experience of just being able to fully
- 14:36Speaker 1: received what any other human being is expressing is just
- 14:40Speaker 1: such a gift and it really only ever comes from
- 14:44Speaker 1: me personally through silence. So I identified with that deeply.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I would love um to talk with you about one
- 15:18Speaker 1: of my favorite subjects, which is cannabis. Oh yes, right,
- 15:25Speaker 1: and can I I think this might be the first
- 15:27Speaker 1: time I've said this publicly, but I was late to
- 15:29Speaker 1: the cannabis train. I actually, um, I didn't even start
- 15:33Speaker 1: till my thirties hell, yeah, that sounds that is beautiful
- 15:38Speaker 1: that I had. So I started um my like regularly
- 15:45Speaker 1: in my early twenties. But that to me, and even
- 15:49Speaker 1: now talking to like weedeads, I feel like that's pretty
- 15:52Speaker 1: late too. And but I appreciate adulthood for like really
- 15:58Speaker 1: being the space of reckoning with the plant that like, yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you just really need is the end results, honestly, And
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think that there's more there's more debate on this
- 16:11Speaker 1: topic than is absolutely necessary, because I'm like, it just
- 16:15Speaker 1: is we all are, we all need to be healing ourselves,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and this is something that is such a huge part
- 16:21Speaker 1: of that. It's also like one of my most favorite
- 16:24Speaker 1: topics in this world. So I'm excited, you know what.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I found it to be um such a beautiful spiritual experience,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and I think even being able to surrender to my
- 16:38Speaker 1: enjoyment of it was for me part of my spiritual process,
- 16:43Speaker 1: especially because of the stigmatization around it and also like
- 16:47Speaker 1: the structures of oppression and growing up and watching people
- 16:51Speaker 1: lose their lives literally or lose their freedom literally because
- 16:56Speaker 1: of this natural growing plant that Odd gave to earth.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And so then there's also to me a little bit
- 17:03Speaker 1: of um anger that I process that comes up when
- 17:06Speaker 1: I see how like everyone is so oh weed and
- 17:11Speaker 1: oh yeah, have a weed bath bomb and this d
- 17:14Speaker 1: dad and it's like cool, cool people have died, Like
- 17:18Speaker 1: people have lost so much when this was, when this
- 17:23Speaker 1: was marred and when this was showcased under a lens
- 17:27Speaker 1: of evil, wrong, lazy, um criminal, and it's like now
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's just oh yeah, go to your in l A.
- 17:34Speaker 1: So it's like, oh yeah, go across the street and
- 17:36Speaker 1: and they'll bring you some sparkling water with indica and
- 17:39Speaker 1: they'll do and you're just like wow, like the reckoning
- 17:43Speaker 1: of it being such a sacred indigenous practice and then
- 17:47Speaker 1: capitalism criminalizes it and millions of people have been forever
- 17:52Speaker 1: changed in a negative light because of it. And then
- 17:55Speaker 1: now it's like having its moment in the sun. Even
- 17:57Speaker 1: that duality, and that is so um sometimes really challenging
- 18:03Speaker 1: to be in the intersection of absolutely, I mean honestly,
- 18:08Speaker 1: it's all it is being in states where cannabis is
- 18:11Speaker 1: legal that I have been most like that. That is
- 18:17Speaker 1: where my organization We Go High was born. Was good
- 18:21Speaker 1: out of going to states where it's legal and seeing
- 18:24Speaker 1: this gentrification of weed where it's like it's gentrification of
- 18:28Speaker 1: weed culture. It's complete disrespect for the people who have
- 18:32Speaker 1: been consistently using this plant for way longer than I
- 18:38Speaker 1: could even count, and being just seeing it be like, oh, yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 1: no big deal, you know it's a problem. And then
- 18:45Speaker 1: in the same states, to see this beyond the legal market,
- 18:52Speaker 1: this the stigma of what it means to be a
- 18:54Speaker 1: cannabis users still prevails, and the effects, the second and
- 19:00Speaker 1: third degree effects of cannabis prohibition, incarceration. To your point,
- 19:06Speaker 1: the number of people that are impacted from just what
- 19:10Speaker 1: could seem like relatively small incidents are life altering for
- 19:16Speaker 1: so many people. And just to continue to see that
- 19:19Speaker 1: like it's marginalized. As a conversation, I was like, we
- 19:25Speaker 1: gotta do something, and it cannot be about trying to
- 19:29Speaker 1: make any plant legal. The plant doesn't a lot with
- 19:34Speaker 1: This is beyond the legal system. This we're really talking about,
- 19:37Speaker 1: like what it means to take care of yourself as
- 19:40Speaker 1: a human being, and that all human beings deserved to
- 19:43Speaker 1: have this. It shouldn't be like only if you have
- 19:45Speaker 1: a terminal illness or only if you like are able
- 19:49Speaker 1: to have the resources to go to this dispensary. In
- 19:54Speaker 1: this state, like, no, it's got to be that, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: it can't be that it's okay to talk about it
- 20:01Speaker 1: only when you are like at the dispensary or with
- 20:05Speaker 1: your friends who also smoke weed or whatever. It needs
- 20:09Speaker 1: to be on the same tip that someone could say
- 20:13Speaker 1: I take a legra, it should be like I enjoy
- 20:16Speaker 1: a wedding cake. Like that is the level. It can't
- 20:19Speaker 1: be something that you have to I mean, if this
- 20:22Speaker 1: is me pretending as though cannabis and spirituality have not
- 20:28Speaker 1: always moved in tandem. The being able to cleanse and
- 20:32Speaker 1: sweep out the talk about coming home to yourself and
- 20:36Speaker 1: being in your own body, like being able to even
- 20:40Speaker 1: remember that this is a body. It's not just something
- 20:44Speaker 1: that it's not all that there is. It's it's a
- 20:47Speaker 1: meat suit, that it's a rental meat suit that really
- 20:52Speaker 1: like kind of anything happened to it. It's like it's whatever,
- 20:56Speaker 1: Like it belongs to this earth and we're not always
- 20:58Speaker 1: on this earth, so like it really doesn't even matter
- 21:02Speaker 1: what happens to it, And it is so hard to
- 21:04Speaker 1: remember that when you, like when your mind has got
- 21:07Speaker 1: you so invested in the physicality of this experience, but
- 21:11Speaker 1: like it's just not even about that, and cannabis really
- 21:15Speaker 1: makes that a lot easier to understand. But I think
- 21:19Speaker 1: that that idea you said something about um having to
- 21:25Speaker 1: give yourself over to the to enjoying it. Like that
- 21:29Speaker 1: idea of being able to enjoy it, that is something
- 21:32Speaker 1: that I think is really difficult for people because we
- 21:35Speaker 1: live in a world that is not about being happy.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It's about being sad, and it its capitalism specifically, really
- 21:42Speaker 1: profits off of us feeling sad. And so you think,
- 21:46Speaker 1: like something makes me happy, especially on medicine, it makes
- 21:49Speaker 1: me happy, that you gotta be something wrong with that.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That's that's not that's that's something dangerous, and it's like
- 21:55Speaker 1: that's how that's how it should be, you should be.
- 21:59Speaker 1: We're supposed to enjoy, you know. And then it's such
- 22:02Speaker 1: a beautiful opportunity to investigate the against us we have
- 22:06Speaker 1: to our own joy and the way that we are
- 22:09Speaker 1: influenced without fully understanding the things that are shared with us.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That was a big takeaway for me because really, I mean,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I grew up I'm born in the eighties, so I
- 22:18Speaker 1: grew up with a DARE campaign and I believed it.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I was like, not my brain on drugs I'm not
- 22:22Speaker 1: about to be that egg, you know, right, I have
- 22:27Speaker 1: my Dare shirt on with the lion and I was like,
- 22:29Speaker 1: say no, and you know, and and not to take
- 22:32Speaker 1: away from that that was powerful because you know, it
- 22:35Speaker 1: also kept you from other drugs that are not medicines
- 22:38Speaker 1: of the earth. Um. But I remember being so judgmental,
- 22:43Speaker 1: so judgmental about people that smoked, and I thought it
- 22:46Speaker 1: was actually a badge of honor to say, oh, I
- 22:49Speaker 1: don't smoke. No, I don't smoke. You know, I used
- 22:52Speaker 1: to work in the entertainment industry, so everywhere I was,
- 22:54Speaker 1: people go to hand you, oh, I don't smoke. And
- 22:56Speaker 1: I thought that that somehow was me being like different
- 22:59Speaker 1: and shoal and I'm so mature and like And then
- 23:02Speaker 1: I was like, oh, you have deprived. When I started
- 23:05Speaker 1: smoking a couple of years ago, I said, oh, you
- 23:07Speaker 1: have deprived yourself your whole life. I said, oh, baby,
- 23:13Speaker 1: you poor thing. You could have been used this, you
- 23:17Speaker 1: could have been had this joy. MM it is here. No,
- 23:26Speaker 1: and I'm sorry. And as a tool and I and
- 23:28Speaker 1: I really bring this forward because and I shared this
- 23:31Speaker 1: at the beginning of our conversation. UM, seen you light
- 23:36Speaker 1: up before you did your spiritual experience with yourself was
- 23:43Speaker 1: beautiful to behold. And it was the first time I
- 23:45Speaker 1: had seen it done. And this is a couple of
- 23:47Speaker 1: years ago when I first found your page. It was
- 23:50Speaker 1: the first time I had not just seen it done,
- 23:52Speaker 1: but seen it done in front of an audience, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: in front of an audience that wasn't to your point,
- 23:58Speaker 1: like minded people, other enthusiasts, other people that were connected
- 24:02Speaker 1: to their spiritual self. And so the freedom and that
- 24:06Speaker 1: the freedom in that and I'm sure it might have
- 24:10Speaker 1: felt just you being you, but the freedom of you
- 24:14Speaker 1: being you as a lighthouse for others like that was
- 24:17Speaker 1: actually profound to witness, and it it extended such a
- 24:20Speaker 1: permission um And now in my practice, it's I I
- 24:25Speaker 1: am so proud to say how grateful I am for
- 24:29Speaker 1: for cannabis. I'm so grateful that cannabis exists. It has
- 24:33Speaker 1: saved me in so many ways, and it has given
- 24:36Speaker 1: me such a deeper layer of access to me and
- 24:39Speaker 1: you know the and sometimes it's it's as simple as
- 24:43Speaker 1: I feel like smoking because it's a beautiful day and
- 24:46Speaker 1: I want to I want to experience this a little
- 24:48Speaker 1: more deeply, or it's I'm doing a sacred ritual and ceremony,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and I've meditated for an hour and now I've lit
- 24:55Speaker 1: up my altar and now I am invoking things and
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm smoking. So that I can journey and so that
- 25:00Speaker 1: I can go, you know, set an intention and say
- 25:03Speaker 1: this is what I'd like to explore, like, help me
- 25:05Speaker 1: heal this, and then I have that sacred container to
- 25:08Speaker 1: now rest within myself. You know. Um, it's it's a
- 25:13Speaker 1: beautiful tool. It's a beautiful gift. Um, yeah, exactly right,
- 25:21Speaker 1: that is I just think. I mean, Okay, So in
- 25:25Speaker 1: my book Yoke, My Yoga of Self Acceptance, I've wanted
- 25:28Speaker 1: to talk about plant medicine, but specifically about cannabis because
- 25:32Speaker 1: I felt like this is one of the most important
- 25:36Speaker 1: parts of my spiritual life, and I think it's a
- 25:40Speaker 1: the one of the cornerstones of my personal wellness. It's
- 25:44Speaker 1: a daily practice for me. It's something that allows me
- 25:48Speaker 1: to actually do all of this. It's how I'm able
- 25:51Speaker 1: to put on all these different hats and be present
- 25:55Speaker 1: in different environments. And I think that there is so
- 25:58Speaker 1: much fear of this stigma that is deeply racialized and
- 26:04Speaker 1: very much used as a tool to control other human beings,
- 26:09Speaker 1: and I was just like we I don't I don't
- 26:15Speaker 1: want to be a part of it, so like, I
- 26:17Speaker 1: don't know, and it's no. It has been a very
- 26:23Speaker 1: profound journey of self to share that practice with other
- 26:27Speaker 1: people and to share what it looks like for me
- 26:31Speaker 1: to be um smoking weed at my house before and
- 26:35Speaker 1: after yoga, before and after bed like wherever, whenever. To
- 26:39Speaker 1: really share that has been very especially to share it
- 26:44Speaker 1: with an audience that is not does not hold the
- 26:48Speaker 1: same values, that's not always on the same values. Um.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It is something that it's in an incredible practice for
- 26:56Speaker 1: me to really be true to myself and to really
- 27:01Speaker 1: be authentic, and to see what it means for my
- 27:05Speaker 1: authentic self to be offensive to other people, and to
- 27:09Speaker 1: see what that looks like, to know that the logic
- 27:15Speaker 1: that people have two dislike what I'm doing really at
- 27:21Speaker 1: the end of the day has nothing to do with me,
- 27:23Speaker 1: And this is me validating it instead of pointing out
- 27:27Speaker 1: the fact that it is all based on lies and
- 27:31Speaker 1: it has nothing to do with the truth. But like,
- 27:33Speaker 1: let's pretend for a moment that's not the case. It
- 27:35Speaker 1: has nothing to do with me someone else's opinion, and
- 27:39Speaker 1: just being able to actually show what the practice looks like.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That to me feels like the whole reason to even
- 27:48Speaker 1: be on social media. It's like, is the point of
- 27:50Speaker 1: social media for people to like me? Know, the point
- 27:55Speaker 1: of social media is to be honest and to be
- 27:58Speaker 1: real and that it that is that as a motivator
- 28:04Speaker 1: and as a piece of my personal practices has been
- 28:08Speaker 1: very revealing in a way that I'm grateful for. And
- 28:13Speaker 1: it's wow, how does that peace um look in practice
- 28:21Speaker 1: and in process? You know, because it's really interesting. You know,
- 28:26Speaker 1: one of the things I think when when people are
- 28:28Speaker 1: on the road of healing, a piece of understanding our
- 28:32Speaker 1: emotional regulation is like existing and other people not having
- 28:37Speaker 1: to honor your truth or you know the quote that
- 28:40Speaker 1: we see sometimes on social media, like I'm in therapy
- 28:42Speaker 1: because all the people in my life that are not
- 28:44Speaker 1: in therapy or try you know, it's like you have
- 28:48Speaker 1: to put that in practice when you are just on
- 28:50Speaker 1: your your personal internal journey. But for someone as a
- 28:55Speaker 1: light worker and a soul lad leader um with a
- 28:59Speaker 1: large platform, it's not just the people in your life,
- 29:04Speaker 1: it's the perceived against us. It is the projections, it
- 29:08Speaker 1: is the experiencing of other people who are being awakened
- 29:12Speaker 1: and are fighting that awakening within themselves as they experience. UM,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you and and other light workers that are projected upon
- 29:21Speaker 1: in that kind of communal space. That's a lot. That's
- 29:25Speaker 1: a lot. That's millions of people, right, It's not just
- 29:28Speaker 1: your family of origin or your coworkers, it's millions of people. Um.
- 29:34Speaker 1: How how does one clear themselves of that, release themselves
- 29:43Speaker 1: of that, um, come into a space of divine acceptance
- 29:48Speaker 1: with that? At that level? I think that's exactly what
- 29:52Speaker 1: I was gonna say, is that I think it is
- 29:54Speaker 1: all just acceptance. I think it's all being like it's like, okay,
- 29:58Speaker 1: so I too, uh one of Nancy Reagan's kids, one
- 30:02Speaker 1: of the Dare kids, Like I wish I'd say, if
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'd know how dope it would be now to have
- 30:08Speaker 1: that black with the rainbow Dare logo shirts. Still I
- 30:12Speaker 1: would get that from from fifth grade. But I was
- 30:16Speaker 1: definitely I was like PCP marijuana, same thing, not doing either.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Like I was just like, yeah, this sounds great. So
- 30:24Speaker 1: I have to accept that there is a narc that
- 30:27Speaker 1: lives inside of me, you know what I mean? Like
- 30:29Speaker 1: I have to I have to own that that she's there,
- 30:32Speaker 1: and she comes to she comes, she comes to dinner.
- 30:36Speaker 1: She's always got her pants pulled up really tight, and
- 30:38Speaker 1: she's ready to tell on everybody and she wants to
- 30:42Speaker 1: be that. She wants to know the most. She is
- 30:44Speaker 1: the smartest bitch in the room. She always knows everything.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And I got to own her and she's that's who
- 30:49Speaker 1: I am. And I say, you know, we love her too.
- 30:53Speaker 1: You know her pants are up very high, Yes they are.
- 30:56Speaker 1: She doesn't know it all. That's it just true and
- 30:59Speaker 1: it's okay. And then it when in the acceptance of it,
- 31:03Speaker 1: because again it's like you don't have to like it,
- 31:05Speaker 1: like I don't have to like I don't have to
- 31:08Speaker 1: like her to be her, and accepting that who you
- 31:13Speaker 1: know whoa oh my God, to like her to be
- 31:20Speaker 1: her because she is that that's a part of me.
- 31:23Speaker 1: And I'm like, I gotta own her, just like I
- 31:26Speaker 1: own all the other parts. And that that's that's so
- 31:31Speaker 1: much of what any of this like, showing anybody that
- 31:34Speaker 1: part of my life is literally like just trying to
- 31:37Speaker 1: own her and really be like, you know what I'm
- 31:40Speaker 1: not it's yes, yes, I see her, I see And
- 31:46Speaker 1: so that it makes me. That's that has been the
- 31:49Speaker 1: the fonts of compassion for anyone else who says, like,
- 31:53Speaker 1: you know, you are promoting this drug that is dangerous
- 31:58Speaker 1: and that stuff, And I'm like you on what I
- 32:01Speaker 1: feel you because I feel the same way. But at
- 32:04Speaker 1: the same time, there is another part of me that
- 32:08Speaker 1: knows that is not the case. And I own her too,
- 32:12Speaker 1: and we go all have dinner together and that's just
- 32:16Speaker 1: what it is. But you, I mean, you said something
- 32:23Speaker 1: that is going to be for another day to unpack.
- 32:25Speaker 1: But the wow you said, I don't have to like
- 32:31Speaker 1: her to be her. I don't have to like her
- 32:35Speaker 1: to be her. I have to sit with that um
- 32:40Speaker 1: that can be applied to so damn much when we
- 32:44Speaker 1: think of coming into acceptance with ourselves right like, because
- 32:48Speaker 1: then it's like, once you take that layer off, it's
- 32:51Speaker 1: you create the spaciousness to invite in liking her and
- 32:55Speaker 1: seeing her through a new lens. But to be willing
- 32:58Speaker 1: to be oneself the first step, and it's like you
- 33:04Speaker 1: can't even You have to just be willing to say,
- 33:11Speaker 1: she's there, it's sorry, she's there. Jessamine, it has been
- 33:16Speaker 1: um a complete honor to spend this time with you,
- 33:20Speaker 1: and I know my audience is familiar. But whoever has
- 33:23Speaker 1: not gotten it yet, yoke my yoga of self acceptance.
- 33:26Speaker 1: It is in stores right now. Um. Jessamine is the
- 33:30Speaker 1: founder of the Underbelly of Dear Jessamine of We Go High,
- 33:34Speaker 1: and you can find her on Instagram. I highly recommend
- 33:37Speaker 1: connecting with every single faceting fiber of her life's work.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It has been such a joy to be with you.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Thank you so much. You honor me. I am humbled.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I'm so grateful to be in community. Thank you. Literally
- 33:53Speaker 1: anytime any place I'm there, hit me up big, thank you,
- 33:57Speaker 1: and I cannot wait to check in net week. A
- 34:00Speaker 1: little soul work for everybody, So a little way to
- 34:03Speaker 1: ground this beautiful conversation. If you have the time today
- 34:07Speaker 1: or in the days that follow, I would recommend finding
- 34:12Speaker 1: a moment to really be alone with your body and
- 34:16Speaker 1: so that can be clothed, that can be unclothed, um,
- 34:20Speaker 1: but in a private space in a way that feels
- 34:23Speaker 1: really nourishing for you. Do some slow stretching and as
- 34:28Speaker 1: you do it, really feel your body. Do it without expectations,
- 34:33Speaker 1: don't rush. Find a time where you can really kind
- 34:37Speaker 1: of ease into this practice. Maybe spend fifteen to thirty
- 34:42Speaker 1: minutes doing it. Maybe turn onto the music or light
- 34:45Speaker 1: a candle, but just really explore the way your body feels.
- 34:51Speaker 1: So if you want to lift your arms and stretch,
- 34:54Speaker 1: if you want to bend, if you want to move,
- 34:59Speaker 1: car about some dedicated time to do just that. Give
- 35:03Speaker 1: yourself a massage, put on lotion or oil with intention,
- 35:09Speaker 1: Allow yourself to do some deep breathing as you're doing
- 35:13Speaker 1: these stretches, big inhales, deep full exhales, and really give
- 35:20Speaker 1: yourself the gift of your own attention and time. I
- 35:24Speaker 1: hope you get a chance to do that. Big love,
- 35:27Speaker 1: not my stay. Hey, find me on social Let's connect
