- 0:00Smila Rahmad Raheem Assalamu Alaikum, and welcome back to
- 0:03another episode on your favorite Shia Muslim podcast after Muslim
- 0:07Al Hamdulillah. Week in, week out, we've been
- 0:09having consistent conversations, ones relating to shaping our
- 0:14identity, our faith, strengthening our Iman.
- 0:18And of course, we discussed topics relating to social
- 0:20issues, even at times political issues.
- 0:23And this week is no different. You know what?
- 0:24In fact, this week is even better because it's a week that
- 0:28means a lot to us. It is the week where we
- 0:30celebrate Aid Allah al Akbar, aid al Ghadir, who are hundreds
- 0:33of Muslims all there are hundreds of millions of Muslims
- 0:36all around the world will be celebrating this joyous occasion
- 0:39and wishing their brothers and sisters believers in faith.
- 0:42And we say the same words year in Yera al Hamdulillaha Levi
- 0:45Jalena when al muta masakin biola at Saydhi Umoli Ali
- 0:50Abdallah Emir al Mukmanin Ali hiss Salaam now marking this
- 0:54magnanimous day, a day that many she has.
- 0:57The hearts wake up, the hearts filled with joy.
- 1:00Smiles come to their faces. It's only fair and only right.
- 1:03We have a discussion surrounding the life of Imam Ali.
- 1:06Ali is Salaam, what it means to be a mulwali, the willai of
- 1:09Amira Mumminin and Eid al Ghadir.
- 1:11But in particular with a certain twist, one where we reflect on
- 1:16al Hamdallah. I'm a parents, many of you are
- 1:17listening around the world. You are parents yourselves and
- 1:20insha'allah, you are raising righteous children.
- 1:23I ask myself all the time, what's the point of having love
- 1:27and wilayah of Imam Ali AB Nabiat Aliab if I can't pass it
- 1:31on to my offspring? And this is a conversation we're
- 1:33going to heavily focus on, on how to nurture the love of Amir
- 1:37Al Mummaneen the right way, instilling values, certain
- 1:41principles of the ehlenbait and our children.
- 1:43And I can't have this conversation alone.
- 1:45I am joined by the amazing, the wonderful, no stranger to after
- 1:50Maghrib, a great friend of this podcast and a familiar face
- 1:53which you all tuned in a few weeks ago.
- 1:55And that's not another then the respected chef, Chef Mustafa,
- 1:59our honed Assalamu Alaikum chef. Alaikum Salaam Allah to you and
- 2:13to all the viewers. Of.
- 2:18Aftermath of podcasts. Thank you for being here on the
- 2:32second time. Three months.
- 2:35If I'm not mistaken. So this is going to become a
- 2:38tradition. You're in the UK.
- 2:41This, this, this is your podcast.
- 2:44I want to ask a question. We have a lot to go through
- 2:46today. And I ask myself sometimes, you
- 2:50know, what does the edelweit mean to me?
- 2:53What does the the progeny, the Immaculate progeny of Rasul
- 2:57Allah, Muhammad Sallalla, Hawaii of Salaam mean to me personally?
- 3:01And I think, and I wonder sometimes I can spend an hour
- 3:03reflecting, am I learning from them?
- 3:06Am I following in their footsteps?
- 3:08But being an idol, Hadir, if I can just focus for a moment on
- 3:12Imam Ali, I'm sure there are sayings, stories, life lessons
- 3:19that stand out to everyone. Everyone has their unique
- 3:21connection, their unique bond, their unique relationship with
- 3:25their emir. What is your relationship with
- 3:27the Imam Ali Ali Salah? Salahat Allah, Salam Ali,
- 3:33commander of the faithful, Amir and Mormineen.
- 3:35It's a topic especially Hadir that as much as I want to
- 3:38control myself, not to get emotional joy and anger at the
- 3:43same time joy to be al Hamdallah the greatest I eat and that
- 3:49Rasul Allah did not leave his ummah without Khalifa.
- 3:53As he said my nation will divide into 73 sects and one will
- 3:57attain salvation. And he did his job what Allah
- 4:02commanded him to do on Haid al Qadir.
- 4:04So that brings me joy that his Omaha will not be left in
- 4:09darkness. At the same time brings me very,
- 4:12very severe anger that OK, why did the Omaha leave him?
- 4:16And only on 70 days after the martyrdom and shihad of Rasul
- 4:20Allah, Allah we see Amir momina adiab.
- 4:23Now we talk about Salaam doesn't have 40 people.
- 4:26So that feeling of joy and anger, especially around the
- 4:29Khadir, I think everybody should feel that happiness and sorrow,
- 4:35grief and happiness just very, very mix between them too.
- 4:41And seeing the same time the burden and responsibility that
- 4:44we have upon our shoulder by Rasulullah for all of us.
- 4:49Our Santom Shechner and you know, if we're going to lead the
- 4:53conversation onto raising righteous children, in fact
- 4:57raising Shia children in particular, some may ask why
- 5:00don't you just say Muslims? But we'll get to that.
- 5:02I think during the conversation, if I can just ask because I know
- 5:06for a fact that we will have many people tuning into this
- 5:09episode and believe it or not, Shechner, I didn't believe this
- 5:12myself, but we have a growing audience who are not Shia who
- 5:15tune into the podcast. And I, I generally believe they
- 5:19TuneIn because they communicate with us at times.
- 5:21They ask us questions at times they say back your sources.
- 5:24So there's that dialogue happening behind the scenes.
- 5:28And one thing that came to mind recently, and I thought I'll
- 5:30mention this to you. They always say, you know, we
- 5:33say the crow Aliyun Ebadi to them.
- 5:36They can't understand this. How do we make them understand
- 5:40what is meant by the vicar or the remembrance of Amir al
- 5:43Mumminian as a form of worship? Why?
- 5:47Remembrance of Amir al Mumminian is remembrance of the holy
- 5:49Quran. He's the embodiment of the whole
- 5:51Quran. He is nefsura Sol Allah.
- 5:54So when we remember the whole Amir al Mumminian, we remember
- 5:56Assuallah, remembering Quran, remembering their teachings, we
- 6:00remembering their legacy, the fava al of Amir al Mumminian in
- 6:03and out, that we have to think and bring it to our life will
- 6:07change our perspective to our life.
- 6:09How he lived, how he managed his own family, himself.
- 6:14He said what I did to myself, what I did for my community,
- 6:18what he did for the society, only five years that he was
- 6:22Khalifa, political Khalifa. I mean, he's Khalifa to law on
- 6:26earth. People like it or not like it.
- 6:27People follow him like sun, people don't.
- 6:30People don't want to say, OK, we don't want to accept the sun.
- 6:32OK, the sun is going to be there, it's going to shine and
- 6:34it's going to have its own blessings.
- 6:36Well, in London, you guys sometimes or actually I think
- 6:39more often you complain about the rain or is Rachman from a
- 6:42loss of Hana. People say why rain?
- 6:44Well, rain will come, Blessing of a loss of Hana will come.
- 6:47We like it or we don't. Amir, Mummy and Ali if we want
- 6:51to see politically and society. He said within four years and
- 6:55nine months that he was, he had the leadership of the OMA in his
- 6:59hand. He said in these four years and
- 7:02nine months, I did three things which until today we don't see.
- 7:05Anyone can argue in any government, any individual
- 7:09within the political system, that they have done it.
- 7:11He said, number one, I provided water for every constituent
- 7:17until today we have millions and millions of people are dying not
- 7:21having clean water. 1400 years ago, Amir Momentum, I provided
- 7:25for every constituent of mine drinkable water.
- 7:28Al Hamdallah, we see right now a lot of organization within our
- 7:30Shiite community that they dig wells in Africa, here, there.
- 7:351400 years ago, he did it #2 He said there was no homeless man
- 7:39within my government. Everyone had a shelter.
- 7:43And 3rd, I provided the means for everyone to have a job.
- 7:47So there was no unemployment. Unemployment was 0.
- 7:51Find me one government today that can say, OK, unemployment
- 7:54is 0. Yeah.
- 7:55You're right, they say poverty was eradicated.
- 7:57Completely four years and nine months.
- 7:59So imagine if he would have had this, if we would have, people
- 8:02would have followed him, people would have supported him, people
- 8:06would have defended him and the Calafa wouldn't be taken away
- 8:09from him those 25 years where we would have been today.
- 8:13So that's I think is what we have to remind ourself,
- 8:16everybody who reads about Amira Mamini, which we really need to,
- 8:21about his life, his legacy, his hadith is Najid Balara, his oral
- 8:25hakam. Sometimes people can, I can
- 8:27understand Nigel Balara becomes really, really deep oral hakam.
- 8:322 words, 3 words, 5 words and it's a life changing.
- 8:37A hadith from Amiran woman in the book of I.
- 8:39Sent beautiful, beautiful advice and it's it's you know, I think
- 8:43you've taken me to the seven heavens already.
- 8:45When I say this is this is this is the meaning Shekhna it is you
- 8:50know I think for me personally being a father, something I
- 8:55reflect on a lot and I think and Subhan Allah, I think just a few
- 8:57weeks ago I was speaking with the with my wife about this.
- 9:01I was like, I, I, I, I know I have certain responsibilities
- 9:06towards my children. I know for example, they have
- 9:08certain rights over me the way I have rights over them.
- 9:12But I never thought of the long term.
- 9:14Like I'm seeing them now. My eldest is 7 and I only saw
- 9:22like what's going to happen now or next week.
- 9:23But the other day I was thinking I was like, I am responsible as
- 9:27a father. So my daughter all the way to
- 9:31Anusha Allah, a righteous husband and such responsibility.
- 9:34So that's where I. Stand as a father between a.
- 9:37Daughter So for me, this topic is huge.
- 9:39It's big. And I have so many questions
- 9:41that I want to ask you, so much clarifications that I want to
- 9:44get regarding certain discussion points that I want to inshallah
- 9:47bring forward in today's topic. One thing I want to focus on
- 9:52that I feel like maybe I can improve on, it's how do I
- 9:55instill the Willaya, the love of Imam Ali, Emir and Mumini into
- 10:00my daughters. I know it's important because I
- 10:03grew up on this. I feel like majority of the time
- 10:07it wasn't forced on to me. It was rather shown towards me,
- 10:12right? And so naturally I built this
- 10:14and the day I grew up was different to the days now we
- 10:19grow up. So there's different challenges,
- 10:23there's different societal confusement that goes around the
- 10:27world. Right now the world is more
- 10:29open, there's more access. For example, my daughter has the
- 10:32ability to open up, I don't know, use her iPad when daddy's
- 10:36no, next time go on Google and write who is your mum?
- 10:38And you're like, these questions may come to her.
- 10:41And I need to make sure as a father and as a Muslim that I
- 10:45have firstly the right answers, that I can answer correctly, not
- 10:48just with the right answers, because sometimes we can force
- 10:51something down to our kids, but if we don't provide enough
- 10:54clarity, and I've seen this happen, people grow up later on,
- 10:57they become teenagers, young adults, they leave religion,
- 11:01they start questioning a few things and something that's
- 11:03scary. I've realized that I think in a
- 11:07way has come into our communities.
- 11:09It's people beginning to question our 12th Imam.
- 11:14Where is he? Why is he not here with all the
- 11:17suffering happening around the world?
- 11:19And I feel like had they had the right clarity and answers when
- 11:23they were young, they wouldn't reach the stage of confusement.
- 11:27But now just refocusing back on the theme, which is idol Khadir.
- 11:31And it's only fair that we stick, I think, within the
- 11:34parameters of ulai and Imam and Yamir al Muminian.
- 11:37For those listening for the first time, they probably have
- 11:40no idea what is idle idea. How was it even 8?
- 11:43Why do she Akola Aidallahu Akbar?
- 11:46What is all the fuss about? What is Wellaya?
- 11:48And just a brief breakdown to mind.
- 11:50That was a Shia as well, the significance?
- 11:53Of a brief. I know it's always.
- 11:59Aidallah Akbar Aidal Wellaya Well, if we look at the history
- 12:04of idle idea very within a couple of minutes we don't we
- 12:08see it. It's not an ordinary event.
- 12:12Until that day a lot of has happened with Rasulullah and
- 12:16with him teaching the ummah what needs to be done.
- 12:20And he said to people before Hajj time that this will be my
- 12:23Hajj because never did Hajj before with people to teach
- 12:27them. So this is the Hajj only Hajj
- 12:29that he was able to teach people what needs to be done.
- 12:32So the message went around the whole Muslim nation that this
- 12:35will be the Hajj, that Rasullah will teach us exactly what needs
- 12:39to be done, all the rituals of the Hajj.
- 12:41Me Allah bless all the viewers to go Hajj inshallah as soon as
- 12:44possible. So aftermarket podcast will
- 12:47sponsor us and we go hatch together inshallah.
- 12:51Salaam Allah and we will have a podcast in Hadir inshallah.
- 12:54We go there with our equipment inshallah.
- 12:58So when he finishes the rituals of hygiene he comes back.
- 13:01We know the famous ayah within the Holy Quran that in Jibra it
- 13:06comes to him and tells him delivered the message and we
- 13:14have a lot to do with this word tabligh.
- 13:17And then he says, no, I mean that he doesn't.
- 13:19He's kind of always hesitant knowing what will happen, what
- 13:23will happen and the people who don't want this tabligh to be
- 13:29done, this message to be delivered and the enmity that
- 13:32this will bring toward this the mission of this Tabligh again
- 13:37second time and a third time and then Jibra it says when Lambda
- 13:42file for mobile that's. A huge.
- 13:47See, if we want to, let's step back.
- 13:49Yeah, Baler, it's supposed to be for Enlam to Baler Tablier.
- 13:55It's when you deliver a message. Right now, they call us the
- 13:59shares, they call us mobile. We deliver a message of Dean
- 14:02Tablier. We spread the knowledge Allah
- 14:08has some actions to it. So it's not only delivering a
- 14:11message, no, there's actions with it that needs to be done
- 14:15that if you don't do it, you're 23 years of whatever you have
- 14:19done down. The drain.
- 14:21It's on a drain. It's gone ma ODI Nabi and Muslim
- 14:25ma ODI. You say no Prophet was bothered
- 14:28and hurt and harmed the same way that I was.
- 14:31Still this last is the signature.
- 14:35It's like you have a, you can that tell you, you have a letter
- 14:39from the president. Well, what makes it a letter
- 14:43from the president is a signature presidential seal
- 14:46sealed. So if it's not, it's just normal
- 14:49letter. Everybody can with all the fancy
- 14:51letters and all the fancy papers, the last seal and the
- 14:56last signature makes it valid. So in order for the message of
- 15:02the Holy Prophet to be valid, that needs to be complete
- 15:08justifiable new name it use the term that you want.
- 15:11It had to have this last signature.
- 15:13What is that as tabligh and fell over idol Khadir as we know the
- 15:20sort of locking part of the fail bring people back that was left
- 15:25us people wait for people to achieve to get to us and then
- 15:29put saddles of the camels and horses on top of one another.
- 15:33Get the area ready. More than 100,000 people
- 15:36gathered and right now, OK, I'm going to go on top of the
- 15:40pulpit. The last ceremon by the last
- 15:45prophet was ceremon of Hadir. So you have 124,000 prophets.
- 15:50Everyone has given ceremons and lectures and so on and so forth.
- 15:55I'm 950 years. He lectured and lectured and
- 15:59lectures and ceremon. Russell Allah himself, those 23
- 16:03years, he did lectures and ceremonies one after one after
- 16:05one, but his last by the last Prophet, a sermon of Kadir,
- 16:11which action plan We will definitely ask the viewers right
- 16:14away. After they finish this, they go
- 16:16and they write sermon of Kadir and download it.
- 16:18And we read the last will, kind of last ceremon, last speech of
- 16:23famous people. That's true because normally we
- 16:25focus on then kuntuma or not. True, true.
- 16:28Yeah, Yeah. It's almost two hours is the
- 16:33lengthiest ceremon given by the prophet and the last ceremon so
- 16:37he lectures and man control Allah.
- 16:39It's part of it before it how much father alif Amir al Mumin
- 16:42after how much father alif Amir al mumin how many verses of the
- 16:45Holy Quran. It's in it about the virtues of
- 16:48Emir Al Mumini and Russell Allah is a mass again, 100,000 people
- 16:54plus that had he said narration that there I did cut their by in
- 16:59half half above their head because of the sun half beneath
- 17:03their feet because it's sand is heat.
- 17:06So you have to keep this context in mind.
- 17:10You give two hours lectures people in the heat right now.
- 17:14I mean, imagine the attention span of people.
- 17:17Prasola. You keep dragging people two
- 17:21hours and you don't have microphones.
- 17:23So you have people every couple of meter they hear you and they
- 17:26make sure everybody hears it. Make sure everybody sees me.
- 17:31This is it. No, I'm going to gain.
- 17:34I'm going to bring Emeril Momini idea of not be thought about it
- 17:36said I'm next to me, I'm going to raise him and I'm going to
- 17:38say Quran and progeny that I'm leaving behind is not this.
- 17:43I'm not going to do like this. I'm going to do like this
- 17:46because this makes one bigger than the other one more
- 17:48valuable, more virtuous. Now I'm going to make this
- 17:50equal. Then I'm going to raise the hand
- 17:53of Emeril Momini. This all part of the fat action
- 17:55of Amir Rasool Allah Don I come down.
- 17:58Is it enough? No, let's bring a tent.
- 18:01Three days. Nobody goes home until everybody
- 18:04personally pledges allegiance with Emir Al Momini.
- 18:07Hand, Shake hand, everybody. I did make announcement.
- 18:11I told you he's your Mullah. I told you everything.
- 18:14Right now you have to come shake hand.
- 18:16And as we know within the history, the first couple of
- 18:19people to be about back and Omar and Osman and Omar said back and
- 18:23back and Nikki Ali, congratulation, congratulation
- 18:26as back the mola mola call the moment.
- 18:29So he already you become the masters.
- 18:31Oh yeah, it's there within the non Shia books and the Shia
- 18:34books. Definitely only men, no women.
- 18:37Also, you should come bring a curtain and the tan put it on
- 18:41top of the bowl. There is water.
- 18:43I mean a moment you place your hand on the side, the woman will
- 18:45everybody pledge allegiance. 3 days and I did all the fail that
- 18:52was needed. So somebody comes.
- 18:54It's mesmerizes me what a righteous mind will come say.
- 18:59It was about him telling for us to befriend him.
- 19:03Habibi, seriously, I don't want to befriend someone.
- 19:06Can you force someone to befriend someone like I told you
- 19:10right now for example, I could I'm quite you come to us in
- 19:12state. I said this, this person is
- 19:15friend of mine. I want you to be friend him.
- 19:17You see some things from this person.
- 19:20You say I don't want to be friend him.
- 19:21No, you must be friend him. We cannot force people.
- 19:24So Rasulullah best creation of Allah Subhanahu ta'ala Angel
- 19:29Jabra in message of Rasulullah. Your message is not everything
- 19:33to be friend in there bringing it right now idol Hadid.
- 19:36So that makes it that the mission of Rasul Allah, his
- 19:40mission finished, but he didn't leave his ummah in darkness.
- 19:42As we mentioned in it, it brings a very important point failure
- 19:47baller. I was researching today to see
- 19:51if this word tablier has been given responsibility to everyone
- 19:55in any part of the religion other than Wilayah.
- 19:59I didn't see this that tablier which is command failure baller
- 20:05make sure everybody and harder. Al haib, everyone who were
- 20:10present, who was present today, make sure anyone who was absent,
- 20:14make sure you go to Tablou of the Willai.
- 20:17I didn't see Tablou of Salah. Akama to Salah.
- 20:21We have Yuki muna Salah establishing Salah, yes, Akama
- 20:26to zakat establishing zakat. But when it comes to Tablou,
- 20:30everybody must become mobeler of Ghadir, Everyone.
- 20:36It's a responsibility al habra, al habra wal Walid, al Walid.
- 20:41Every father must do tablir of Ghadir to his children.
- 20:48So we can say, well, it's the responsibility of a Sheikh and
- 20:52ulama and maraj. No tablir of Ghadir is the
- 20:56responsibility of every father to their children.
- 21:00So in a way every father is mobile.
- 21:03Mobile of what? Ghadir no teaching them about
- 21:06the will I of Albert Ali hamster until the day of judgement.
- 21:16Wonder more than 100,000 people came and pledged allegiance with
- 21:19Emir Mumminin. I was researching also today the
- 21:23only hadith that we have more than 100 people narrating it and
- 21:29it's detailed as the hadith of a qadir.
- 21:32You will not find people talking about Salah, rasool, Allah,
- 21:37zakah, about Hajj. You find 10 people, 20 people,
- 21:4050 people Max. The only hadith and events
- 21:45within the history that more than 100 people narrated it and
- 21:49they wrote about it. It's only event of a hadith, but
- 21:53unfortunately our own Shia community first and the non Shia
- 21:56second, we don't read the ceremony of Ghadir.
- 21:58So again, action plan, everybody must read.
- 22:01And we owe it to Amir al Mumini Sara Mullali, we owe it to
- 22:04Rasulullah, to Fatimah Tzara Sara Mullali to read the event
- 22:07of Ghadir, to read the ceremony. At least no more question will
- 22:11be left for anyone. Maybe he said this, maybe
- 22:15friendship will no will be no have no place in your mind after
- 22:19reading the ceremony of Ghadir to your question back again
- 22:22right now, how can we do this with our kids love of Amir
- 22:26Mumminian love of albeit alayam Salaam.
- 22:29You mentioned very good point, which is hadith that we were
- 22:32raised differently and Amir Mumminian said raise your
- 22:36children different than the way that you were raised because
- 22:39they are created a different time than the time that you were
- 22:42born created. What I have done Al Hamdulillah,
- 22:46it's a blessing Allah. And albeit that I have this tofu
- 22:49inspiration all by the teachings of albeit Alayah Musaram.
- 22:52First of all, it's the importance of the names, making
- 22:55sure that we give the names of albeit Alayah Musaram to our
- 22:58children. And that is one of the hack of
- 22:59our children upon the parents to give them a good name.
- 23:03And we read in Zar JAMA al Kabir, there is no more beauty
- 23:10than the names of albeit Alayah, Musaram and I from the beginning
- 23:14Hamdullah with all my four children's.
- 23:15I told them your birthday doesn't matter.
- 23:18I think we talked about this or no, I don't know.
- 23:21I told them each one of you, we will celebrate by the birth of
- 23:24your Imam, the name of that Imam.
- 23:26We start from the 8th Imam, the first son of mine, his name is
- 23:30Ali Radha. I said we will celebrate your
- 23:33your birth is October 8th. OK, we just move it and we put
- 23:36the birth of Amarava. Islam doesn't matter.
- 23:38It's about celebration. We celebrate our Imam Ayram's
- 23:41birth and I'm Muhammad Jawad, Fatima Rokaye, my daughter and
- 23:45Ali Hadi Allah for Jimmy Allah. I'm Saddam Muwalin, who have
- 23:51been a little bit and I told them every birth of them I will
- 23:55go out for lunch. Every people typically go for
- 23:58lunch out. They lunch out at least once a
- 24:00month, every other month. So we give it purpose every
- 24:06birth of them I'm so they're waiting on the calendar.
- 24:08Is there any occasion coming up near and gift will be done, will
- 24:15be purchased? Whatever you want to buy, it
- 24:16will be purchased on the day of the birth of the Imam.
- 24:19Amazing. So love of Alibait from young
- 24:21age because how much you can teach them about the teachings
- 24:24of Alibait. First you have to instill the
- 24:26love of Alibait in their heart. Knowing this from the historical
- 24:31events, how we implanted the hatred of Emeril Mohammedin and
- 24:36the children of Sham, famous story that he will send a very
- 24:40nice, handsome looking guy and he will bring for them small
- 24:44goats, baby goats, small baby lamb, and he will give it to
- 24:47them after they get used to it. People in Sham, after they get
- 24:52used to it for a couple of months, he will send a very big,
- 24:56ugly, gigantic look, ugly monster person.
- 25:01He goes and he snatches them from them, the sheep and the
- 25:04baby goat and he slaughters them in front of them.
- 25:08And he said I am Amir al Momin, Alib Nabi Talib.
- 25:10I am Alib Nabi Talib. So peep kids when they come on
- 25:15the day of Ashura Nukati Luka Borvan le Abiq.
- 25:19This boat has been there for past years and years and decades
- 25:23from young because they haven't seen Amir al Momini.
- 25:27So they will know this. So we have to reverse engineer
- 25:29it. OK, How can we plant the seed of
- 25:31love of Amir al Momini? We have a hadith that on a day
- 25:35of Hadir, whatever you spent Allah give you hundredfold back.
- 25:41They know my kids they know that on the devil Kadir is open check
- 25:46to idol kadir and idol and idol you have open check.
- 25:53I mean, of course you know we're going to watch is buy like
- 25:55$100,000. But within your own, you want
- 25:58iPad and idol kadir, you want iPhone idol Hadir, you want this
- 26:02best jersey, Idol Hadir, best shoes idol had, everything you
- 26:06want. Throughout the year you get all
- 26:08the smaller things that you need.
- 26:10But idol Hadir comes, you will remember it.
- 26:13For my daughter, the first wife, when I bought her, she's to
- 26:16remember it idol hadir. My sons won Apple Watch idol
- 26:20hadir. So they are waiting for idol
- 26:23Hadir. Throughout the year they ride
- 26:24there and from their golds. OK, I want to get this thing
- 26:27when idol Hadir and slowly, slowly bring it to Imam and
- 26:32Zaman when we are eating. I really see your point to be
- 26:38very valid. When they don't have that love
- 26:42and connection with Imam Zaman and they don't see Imam Zaman,
- 26:47they will ask then what is the benefit of Imam Zaman?
- 26:50I thought OK, I have to do something because Aya Qurania
- 26:53says chapter 66 verse 6. I have to start with my own
- 27:00family or you who have faith. Save yourselves and your
- 27:05families from fire, OK? If I want, when I go and preach
- 27:09to other people, first I have to make sure that my own children
- 27:12that are either every time that they are happy that I bought
- 27:16them something or they're eating something, they say thank Mama,
- 27:21thank Baba. I say thank a lot, Hamdullah
- 27:23Bahalami, thank Mama Zaman. Because of him we get our risk.
- 27:29Like when my kids if we go out or at home, my wife cooks good
- 27:33meal. Alhamdulillah, when they're
- 27:34eating it and they say shukran Mama, I say shukran Allah,
- 27:38shukran Mama, shukran Mama zama. Yeah.
- 27:42And keep saying Allah Allah Mubarak while we are eating
- 27:48because this is a hadith that one day person.
- 27:50I think during time of Salaam or Imam Al Baqar, one of the imams,
- 27:55it was the servant of the Imam. He was eating and he was saying
- 27:59Allah Mubarak limo lie, Allah bless my mother.
- 28:03Mom said, what did you say? He said I'm saying Allah Mubarak
- 28:07to you because because of you I have all of these blessings and
- 28:09all of this risk. And mom said you are free.
- 28:11For the sake of a loss of heart. He kept eating.
- 28:13He said Allah Mubarak limo lie. And mom said this farm is all
- 28:17yours and everything that is in it.
- 28:21So action plan will be #1 make sure you give your children the
- 28:26names of #2 take him out for lunch or dinner on every birth
- 28:31of the imam and while you are sitting and eating.
- 28:33OK, while we are celebrating birth of XMM, one story it
- 28:39doesn't need. When we think about upbringing,
- 28:41we think it needs. OK, let me sit and give them one
- 28:44hour lecture. No one story. 1 hadith, second,
- 28:49third Aidal hadir. They see this on Thursday, so
- 28:54Saturday, Sunday is Aidal Hadir. If you are children watching
- 28:58this, if you are young, tell your parents we are going to go
- 29:02out and we are going to buy gifts.
- 29:04Have your parents to buy whatever you want for you.
- 29:07Feel free to send the invoice all the way to across the
- 29:10Atlantic. If you find me where I am, send
- 29:13it to me. I would love to inshallah if I'm
- 29:17idol. Hadir has so much importance.
- 29:19So this is the way. Slowly, slowly, while they're
- 29:21eating, while I buy them something, clothes, shoes, Al
- 29:24Hamdullah. Thank you Baba, thanks to Mama
- 29:26Zaman, thank Allah. So you build the connection.
- 29:29From young age, when they grow up, they owe themselves to Mama
- 29:33Zaman. That every blessing, every
- 29:36share, every good was from Mama Zaman, from Aiden Hadir, from
- 29:40Wilayah, from albeit. Right now you owe albeit how to
- 29:45fulfill your responsibility. Learn about their teachings.
- 29:48Well, this is this is amazing. And I think it's it's great
- 29:50advice for us parents as well. And you know, as you're
- 29:52mentioning all the things that you do with your children, I was
- 29:55remembering things my late father used to do with me.
- 30:01I'd recall, generally I'd recall.
- 30:02I'm just thinking now, like literally in our chef and I'm
- 30:05thinking when I was young, I think the age definitely I was
- 30:12like between I would say 7 and all the way I think to like 12
- 30:17or something. I can't remember a night or a
- 30:21day where we didn't discuss the Ehlul Bates, where we didn't
- 30:25have a conversation regarding the Ehlul Bates.
- 30:29Like everything was. When we say Ehlul Bates, I don't
- 30:31want people to get confused when we're mentioning the Ehlul Bates
- 30:34mentioning Allah, We're mentioning Allah because I know
- 30:37we have people listening just to clarify on that.
- 30:39But it was those little intercals of like seeds of it
- 30:44creates this magic. It creates this thing where when
- 30:47you grow up, and I'm thinking now I'm do this to my children
- 30:50and that's thanks to how I was raised.
- 30:53Al Al Walid, Al Walid, you got to you right now.
- 30:55It has to continue. Yeah, and and this is how I
- 30:57think like raising Shia families should be is like from a young
- 31:02age you as much as you can. And when I speak with my
- 31:06daughters, I mainly do our nights just before bed, like
- 31:11before they go to bed. Yeah, honey.
- 31:13And I find it's the best way where they feel like asking 100
- 31:15questions. And I have all the time in the
- 31:17world for them. And shall I always have the all
- 31:19the time in the world for them? And we always have this, like,
- 31:21small discussions to them. It means the world to me.
- 31:24It's like, you know, did I say it right?
- 31:28Then I have a convo. Then the next day I may go
- 31:29correct myself. I really think twice about why I
- 31:32say to them because I know the importance it has at the end of
- 31:34the day. And I tell them hadith, I
- 31:38mentioned stories of the Halil Bay to them.
- 31:40We even read Quran together. Like we have this routine, not
- 31:46that we chose to just automatically happens.
- 31:48And this is a blessing. And Charlotte does continue, but
- 31:51it shows the emphasis of the impact it has down the line.
- 31:54Because I know 100% I'm not saying I'm a good person, shall
- 31:59I am. I know this is all thanks to my
- 32:02father. No doubt.
- 32:03And the work of my mother as well.
- 32:05No doubt. And Shalom, the fruits of the.
- 32:08You bring you, you mentioned good .2 points that I want to
- 32:11bring hardest. With that comes number one,
- 32:13identity. Our kids this day and age,
- 32:16everybody wants to give them an identity and that identity not
- 32:20only as an individual, it comes with a package.
- 32:24It has color to it. We know that whatever right now
- 32:27the West wants to do with our kids, it has given it color.
- 32:32Well Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala says also I have a color Sabratallah
- 32:35sabrah Sabrah. The painting have that identity
- 32:40of divine well. Imam Rasulullah says
- 32:43Rasulullah's word is the word of Allah.
- 32:48Everything that Rasulullah utters as the word of Allah,
- 32:51when Allah is telling Rasulullah tell people value by the Allah.
- 32:54Allah meaning I have to give my kid a Shia identity.
- 33:00I understand in some countries having that identity though
- 33:02where Shias are under oppression, I understand we have
- 33:07to be careful when we go out and so on and so forth.
- 33:09And I have people who lived there on those countries until
- 33:12they were 8/19/20. They didn't know they were Shia
- 33:15until they moved to West and their parents were OK.
- 33:17Right now we are Shia because of what they were going through in
- 33:20those countries, unfortunately still exist until today.
- 33:23But we living in the West, we have the freedom, we tell our
- 33:27kids you have the Shia identity, we respect non Shia and
- 33:30non-muslim. But you have this identity, be
- 33:33proud of it. You are following a person who
- 33:37is the best creation of Allah after Rasulullah.
- 33:40Everything about him is perfect. Everything about him teaches you
- 33:44the right way of living. Why be afraid of it?
- 33:47That's number one what you are doing as the hadith of Imam
- 33:51Sadhar Aliya Salam Imam says Badr hadathekum hadith kabla and
- 33:58tespeka come elohim al murja during time when I saw the Ali
- 34:04Salaam there was a sect called Murja.
- 34:07OK. And they have their own wrong
- 34:10arcada. I don't want to go to the detail
- 34:11of the wrong arcada, which is against the Shia of Alibi.
- 34:14I understand my teaching of Alibi, Imam says you initiate
- 34:18the teaching of your kids before murja.
- 34:20I come and they teach them that's.
- 34:22So true. So what are you doing exactly?
- 34:25You are doing Mubadara, You are rather than waiting for my kids
- 34:29to come home. Oh, and they've been shaped.
- 34:31Unfortunately, majority of the parents, they come to us when.
- 34:35It's too late. When it's too late, they come
- 34:37for a medicine. They want cure, Estam says.
- 34:42Work on prevention, prevention. The stories of Adibe Italian
- 34:45Saddam when my kid goes around, I know I'm here with my wife.
- 34:50I message my kids as OK you have devices, you're alone,
- 34:53supervision. Remember Allah is watching you,
- 34:56Rasulullah is watching you and the amount of our time is
- 34:59watching you according to the Holy Quran 1 moment on.
- 35:05So I remind them, since they have that love connection with
- 35:08Imam, since it's OK Imam, someone has done everything for
- 35:12me. Allah gave his.
- 35:14Allah gave my risk to Imam Zaman.
- 35:16He's a Razak. He gave them my risk to Imam
- 35:18Zaman and Imam Zaman distributes it.
- 35:20I have the risk from him. He's the means of my risk.
- 35:24Well, I need to keep him happy. I am loyal to him.
- 35:28His satisfaction is my most importance in life.
- 35:32So parents must work on prevention.
- 35:35Do whatever you can. Bah Drew Imam is commanding
- 35:39right now. Morja Ali, replace Morja, make
- 35:41it all of these. Society currently today.
- 35:44Society with all the ISM, all the negativity and you,
- 35:49everybody knows about it. We don't have to go there.
- 35:52All of it, all of it socially, politically, every US parents,
- 35:56we have to be responding, taking the responsibility, not only
- 36:03feeding them, clothing them. No, they're actually there.
- 36:07Their clock, their morality. Where are they getting it?
- 36:10If my, if I'm sending my kid to public school, well, my job is
- 36:14doubled because they go 8 hours, 9 hours more or less.
- 36:20I shouldn't be happy. Unfortunately, I see a lot of
- 36:22the parents are happy with one Saturday school, one Sunday
- 36:25school. Yeah, it gives them peace.
- 36:27Yeah, Al Hamdulillah, a father came to me one day when I was in
- 36:32my ID center or. Maybe in the same boat, yeah.
- 36:36He said, Chef, I want my son to become like you, Marjata Plead.
- 36:42Within this one year. I said the whole sentence is
- 36:45wrong. I'm not Marjata plead #2 once a
- 36:49week, Saturday, 4 hours, you give him to give him to me in
- 36:53our Saturday school. How much I can teach, how much I
- 36:59can teach parents. It's responsibility of the
- 37:03parents to teach them about this.
- 37:05Small little bits, Khalid, but continuous as you're doing it
- 37:09perfectly. And some parents are doing also
- 37:12small stories. Time of lunch, one hadith,
- 37:15dinner time 1 hadith. They leave the faraj.
- 37:18Don't forget. They come back home.
- 37:21They see mom is playing Haditha Kesai in the house while she's
- 37:24cooking. Mom's playing is the Jamal
- 37:26Khabira, Zyad Ashura, Surat Yasin, Surat Rahman.
- 37:30All this becomes a package. Impacts them positively, no
- 37:34doubt because you know, sadly, you know, chef, there are homes
- 37:37where, for example, they may be Muslim households, but it's not
- 37:42the best environment for the children.
- 37:44True be it for example Haram music being played, discussions
- 37:50of things that take you away from a lot.
- 37:53These things do happen. Everyone makes errors, everyone
- 37:55makes mistakes, but not in fun of the children, you know?
- 37:59Sometimes I feel like as parents, even sometimes some
- 38:02friends we have like discussions, they say, I wish I
- 38:05didn't say that in front of my kid.
- 38:07Or they say, I wish my my son didn't see what I done or what I
- 38:11was doing. I was like, but you have
- 38:13children. Yeah, you need to not even think
- 38:15twice. You need to think 10 times.
- 38:17True. Because they they in in many
- 38:19ways, they become a mirror of us, right, chef?
- 38:22And if they're not in the right environment, they don't have the
- 38:24right to be at the right upbringing.
- 38:26I think it's a recipe for disaster.
- 38:28They're always the mirror of us. Yeah, I always tell the parents.
- 38:31You, you brought a good point, I tell the parents.
- 38:33Unfortunately our kids, they don't hear us.
- 38:37They see. Us, yes.
- 38:39And and and I was going to come to this point when I was young.
- 38:42I I was in Bali. I was like 9.
- 38:45I was like 10. But my dad would always want me
- 38:48to get up and pray Salah. But he never told me get up.
- 38:51You would never tell me girl, do you believe it?
- 38:53Even honey, until I passed. He passed away when I was 15.
- 38:57He never ever told me. He told me Salah.
- 39:02And he would say avan. Yeah.
- 39:03Or for example, it's it's prayer time and he goes, OK, it's
- 39:06prayer time. He's not going to come tell me,
- 39:09you know, he'd come pray in the same room I am at about I do get
- 39:12up and pray. So it's more like showing rather
- 39:14than telling. Yeah.
- 39:15And, and I love that. Yeah.
- 39:18And it's like an indirect terribly air where you, you, you
- 39:22don't want to force it and make it feel like a routine or a
- 39:25habit or something heavy on young children, Right?
- 39:29Because we all want to play. We all want to have fun.
- 39:31We all want to go out, ride on the bike in the streets.
- 39:33And that's what we're doing back in the day.
- 39:34Now everyone's glued on their. Phones at home.
- 39:37And that's a discussion we'll come to soon during today's
- 39:39episode. But just the reality is, look, I
- 39:42see it this way. There is more than just, I
- 39:45think, instilling the love of a debate as well.
- 39:47If I look today I see on average each household I I would say
- 39:53will have roughly or approximately 2 children.
- 39:57May Allah bless us with more inshallah.
- 39:59But I think right now on average people are having two.
- 40:01And what's the excuse? Let me see, I've heard this so
- 40:04much times honestly how they grow up and if they came out
- 40:08good I'll make more children for example.
- 40:10All too late. Yeah, so they already know
- 40:14they're not really working hard. And I, I don't know if it's
- 40:18society's fault. I don't know if they're busy
- 40:21with life and everything, but I feel it's a choice we have to
- 40:25make. The same way we make a choice to
- 40:26eat, the same way we make a choice to travel, go on holiday,
- 40:29the same way we make a choice to inshallah go ziara Arvine, then
- 40:33Shia. Same like these are choices we
- 40:34have to make and we being Shia, there's an extra level of
- 40:38responsibility on us. We're not like everyone else.
- 40:41If we say we hold on to Thakalene, we hold on to the
- 40:44Quran, we hold on to the hell bait and we never separate from
- 40:47them. They have treasures for us on
- 40:49how to raise children. So I and I was looking today.
- 40:52I've come across this a long time ago, but I, I saw it again
- 40:54today. It was the the Treatise of
- 40:58Rights. By.
- 41:01Ali as Salaam, the rights of your children.
- 41:04I've read in Arabic, but it was my first time reading in English
- 41:07and I think let me share it here with I bring the English whether
- 41:10I for the Afon it's Yeah. So the Imam says when speaking
- 41:17about the right of the child towards the father, it woke me
- 41:21up towards like, OK, it's not just responsibility.
- 41:25No, no, no, you will be held accountable.
- 41:28So when you read it and understand it, you see, like
- 41:32there is an emphasis of their good, you'll be rewarded their
- 41:36bad. The Imam says and the right of
- 41:41your child is that you should know that he is from you and he
- 41:45will be ascribed to you in this world both his good deeds and
- 41:49his evil deeds and you are responsible for what has been
- 41:53entrusted to you as an Amana in teaching him good conduct,
- 41:57guiding him towards his Lord and helping him to obey Allah,
- 42:01Subhanahu at Allah. Then you will be rewarded for
- 42:04doing so and you will be punished.
- 42:07Then regarding his affairs, act like the one who will be proud
- 42:12of bringing him up in this world and one who who is excused by
- 42:16his Lord for what is between you and him, for taking good care of
- 42:20him and the good results you achieved.
- 42:23And there is no God and no power but Allah.
- 42:26And there's like. 3-4 keywords. OK, you'll be rewarded if you
- 42:31raise good children, you'll be punished if they're not, for
- 42:35example. You'll be held accountable, no
- 42:42doubt. Your son comes out good, your
- 42:44daughter comes out good. You'll be rewarded true if your
- 42:48son comes out bad or your daughter comes out bad.
- 42:53OK, this is where things get scary.
- 42:55See, it comes in a package, Yeah.
- 42:58And you, it's, it's hack, another Hadid that I have, which
- 43:00is alongside that, which is hack.
- 43:02Hack means it's a right. If you don't fulfill it, you're
- 43:06going to be responsible. Prasool Allah said the right of
- 43:11the child upon his father in the kind of Dakaran how we have also
- 43:17the rest of it being the boy being the girl and comfort as a
- 43:27father, you have to make sure bring a lot of fathers right now
- 43:30in trouble and probably you don't want to see the rest of
- 43:33the episode. You might want to pause it.
- 43:36If you're single with your wife, probably she's looking at you
- 43:38right now. A father's responsibility toward
- 43:42his son is or his daughter is to make sure his mom or her mom
- 43:48live she lives comfortable. Why?
- 43:51Because Terribia and nurturing comes from the mother.
- 43:56If she's always occupied with work and businesses and money
- 44:01and everything, she won't be able to give that love.
- 44:05Father is the fatherly figure as the umbrella, the leader, but
- 44:11the pillar of this house is the mother.
- 44:14So we have to keep in mind the role of motherhood, which
- 44:18unfortunately has been taken away.
- 44:20This is not now. It's not only one hadith.
- 44:23Rasulullah said the right of your children and the terribly
- 44:27of your children starts when before marriage, making sure you
- 44:32pick the right mother for them. So that's the terribly, that's
- 44:35when it begins. So this becomes the whole
- 44:39package first as a father and comfort is something relative.
- 44:44I might be living in a tent and comfortable and I might be
- 44:47living in a palace. I'm not comfortable and vice
- 44:49versa. It is true also.
- 44:50So comfort is psychological comfort, physical comfort,
- 44:54whatever we can do. I know unfortunately sometimes
- 44:57some people's expectations up to the roof and that's going to
- 45:01become difficult to make them live comfortably.
- 45:04But realistically, what does comfort mean?
- 45:07And everybody, it's the same page, close give or take.
- 45:12So that's one aspect of having that comfort for the mother so
- 45:17she can plan because every child has their own need.
- 45:23Terbia, See, Terbia, when we do jam that we put in the butter in
- 45:29Arabic called what moraba, Moraba you have Morabi moraba.
- 45:37Terbia, making a jam is nothing easy.
- 45:41You bring the fruits, you bring the sugar, you bring water, the
- 45:45right amount, the right temperature and in a little bit
- 45:48of lime. Maybe not everybody can make a
- 45:51jam. So in Moraba, Morabi is the one
- 45:54who's doing the act of process of terbia for Moraba to become a
- 45:59good jam. I have one of my family
- 46:01relative, she said. When I make a jam, for example,
- 46:05strawberry, the strawberry is there, the water is there and
- 46:08the sugar is there. There's no connection between
- 46:10this. Not everybody can make it.
- 46:12So Terbia is something that the the our sisters have to spend
- 46:16time on. My son or my daughter, they're
- 46:19introvert or they're extrovert. They need more time.
- 46:21They need less time. How much information is good for
- 46:24them? This is not one size fit all
- 46:27tabia for all the children. So you can have like 3 is what
- 46:29you're saying here. So you can have like two or
- 46:31three different children or not everyone.
- 46:33Is not the same. They're not.
- 46:35Right now, your two daughters are the same.
- 46:36No, I have to speak to them differently.
- 46:38There you go. Yeah, See.
- 46:40So the role of motherhood is very important because we as a
- 46:44man, we must go and bring and bring food on the table, have
- 46:48this shelter above their head, clothed them.
- 46:51This is responsibility. So we have to do our share for
- 46:55the Mother Day and night. It's a very difficult job.
- 46:59It needs that softness, it needs that touches that femininity is
- 47:05needed in the Caribbean that motherly love needed us fathers.
- 47:09We have to be tough, but at the same time we have to have that
- 47:11mercy and rahma. Unfortunately, I see some
- 47:14parents say OK, let's become religious and they become really
- 47:17hard. And Mamasada says in Allah azza
- 47:20wajal layer hamo A Rajal, the amount of love that fathers and
- 47:29parents have told their children and love and rahma rahmu
- 47:32saharakum rasul Allah says teaching should not be from the
- 47:37perspective of commands. May Allah bless your father.
- 47:42It wasn't command Salah, no rahma, time for Salah.
- 47:48It's time good, bad, evil was in the form of rahma and mercy.
- 47:54Some parents, they want to become religious, they become
- 47:56really, really restrict. No simplify easy Rahman.
- 48:02How Rasulullah who was treating the people like, let's put our
- 48:05mind, how did Rasulullah invite people to the way of Islam isn't
- 48:11because of his Rahman and his ahlab that they came.
- 48:14I've seen people that sometimes the parents are really religious
- 48:17and restrict that the kids become the opposite because of
- 48:21all of the restrictions. Do don't sit, don't.
- 48:24No, I'll base it until A7 leave them.
- 48:28Yeah, there is this 3 stages, yeah.
- 48:30Yeah, but how many of us? We do it early, early until
- 48:34ASAM. I tell parents what I understand
- 48:36from a hadith evaluate Hadi says they are say it in the house
- 48:40means the masters. The masters.
- 48:43I tell the parents very controversial from for some
- 48:46restricted parents until they're harming themselves or harming
- 48:52other people. Let them free.
- 48:55We can't so difficult because we are, we want everything in the
- 49:00house to be in a small place. No, no.
- 49:02Until they are calming themselves or harming other
- 49:06people, other kids, they have to be free.
- 49:09And you let them be, so long as they're not in danger.
- 49:11Of course, or danger other people.
- 49:13Their kids are their kids. So I see it in the Western
- 49:16families. I've I really analyzed this, a
- 49:20lot of social experiments why the Western kids age 18, they go
- 49:26off, they can't wait for age 18 or 21 because while they're
- 49:32young because. They can leave the house.
- 49:33And why have freedom And because while they're kids, there's a
- 49:38lot of restriction. Bedtime sleep this time, wake up
- 49:42this time eat this, don't eat this sit.
- 49:45Did you say thank you Open so a. Lot.
- 49:48Of restriction. So they can't wait.
- 49:51And I've seen religious families that I grew up with them, their
- 49:56kids, Allah Akbar, they are all over the place, literally all
- 50:02over the place. When they grow up, there are the
- 50:05calmest people you can even you can see in your life because
- 50:09while they're kids, everything, all of this came out.
- 50:12Yeah. So rather than become a child as
- 50:14you become an adult, there you go.
- 50:16Live your childhood, everything. It's on time.
- 50:20Good. She worked there, but we went
- 50:21from age 7. Discipline.
- 50:23There is no discipline until age 7, so how could rest of the law
- 50:27say all of these psychological perspectives to people 1400
- 50:29years ago? He says for until A7.
- 50:31Leave them as I say it, kissing our kids.
- 50:36He had two children, he kissed one of them.
- 50:44This is all see we don't need millions of hadith, thousands of
- 50:48hadith about 11 hadith can give us a perspective how it should
- 50:52be done. General lot he left the other
- 50:56one for Carla Nebu for Halasa weight by in a Homer.
- 51:00Why didn't you have justice in between them and Adalah and
- 51:03Musawah and equality? You kiss one of them kiss the
- 51:06other one. Why you kiss 1 you left the
- 51:08other one. So make sure between your kids,
- 51:12there is no equality in everything and acted women
- 51:17oblate Oladico increase the amount of kisses that you kiss
- 51:20your children, but we think it OK.
- 51:22I want to be a restrict. Parents keep kissing them and
- 51:26showing that love and having that mercy.
- 51:28While I'm no longer can be tough.
- 51:31When was the last time with toughness and hardship and heart
- 51:35you're able to convince them it didn't work?
- 51:38Find it one way that it worked. It will always have backlash
- 51:47every time that you kiss your children.
- 51:50Every kiss between this Daraja to other Daraja. 500 years
- 52:00journey for one kiss of the children.
- 52:05Mercy, kindness needs to be within our Terebia.
- 52:10I'll get a Toy Story. I've said the story so many
- 52:12times. My second son was young, very
- 52:16young. Right now, Mashallah, he's 18.
- 52:19Mashallah Hamdullah, blessing of Allah and a little bit he came
- 52:23with probably was first grade, 2nd grade.
- 52:25It's like that I've done something wrong.
- 52:27What? I was hungry and I ate something
- 52:31in school which I should not eat.
- 52:36I told him do estafar don't do it anymore. 3-4 weeks, one
- 52:43month, two months later something happened also.
- 52:44He came to his like that. I have built that connection
- 52:47with him that he can come back to me when he has an issue.
- 52:52Unfortunately, some parents, they have a very big barrier
- 52:55between them and their kids. They're afraid to tell their
- 52:58parents if something has gone wrong.
- 53:00You know how that comes to small things.
- 53:02For example, a cup breaks down. Why did you do this on Hamdullah
- 53:08Fair? Everything is OK with you.
- 53:10Let me help you clean it. Yeah.
- 53:12Yeah, yeah. So you.
- 53:13See so when when he sees a cup breaks down, you go out of your
- 53:17mood. He ain't coming when he needs
- 53:18your help. He was riding and he got it on
- 53:22the couch. OK, got on the wall.
- 53:26Why don't you have finishes if there's painting on the wall?
- 53:31They have to be free. Happy be.
- 53:33They have to be. Free.
- 53:34So this leaves like a psychological yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 53:36yeah footprint that if I'm if I'm in a position where I'm
- 53:41confused, I'm this may sound wrong in front of mum and dad,
- 53:44like I'm not going to go to them.
- 53:46Of course, I may get my answer somewhere else.
- 53:48There we go. And then?
- 53:493-4 months later they came to my done something wrong.
- 53:52I thought habibi do estafar don't do it anymore something
- 53:55else. He grew up, grew up grew up.
- 53:58My last son was born and he grew up to be first grader.
- 54:02He went to school he came back to me one day he said dad I
- 54:07forgot to take lunch at school. I ate something Haram my second
- 54:13son standing there before I was about to say anything my second
- 54:17son said do a stuff far don't do it anymore.
- 54:19I love you. Too, That's how a lot a lot of
- 54:25us OK don't do wrong. If you do wrong, do a stuff far
- 54:29don't do it anymore. Doesn't some some of the parents
- 54:32they will not forgive their kids.
- 54:35They were a lot to forgive them. That's so true.
- 54:38And you know, when you look at it, chef is like, you know,
- 54:40speaking about this forgiveness thing.
- 54:42You know, even until today, I think there's families or people
- 54:44know of families be in the community or close people
- 54:48relatives in that way. They don't speak to each other.
- 54:50One parent doesn't speak to his son because why he was 16 and he
- 54:55had the girlfriend and he came from out the house.
- 54:57Until today, there's never mended relationships, right?
- 54:59But if, if we at a certain age, especially a critical age, I
- 55:04think as teenage years we should become friends with them.
- 55:08But see, that friendship starts from they they want.
- 55:10Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. From all of these, that act,
- 55:12I'll give you a story, Hamdullah.
- 55:14Blessed to have a very open eye to see my second son, young age,
- 55:19active, jumping on the couch and everything.
- 55:22You know that maybe you're the one now.
- 55:27May Allah bless the soul of your father, May Allah bless the soul
- 55:32of your father and give long and healthy life to your mother what
- 55:36they want to do with you. I can see it.
- 55:39I can see it how I see it. Your activeness in serving the
- 55:44cause of Arabat and your eagerness to serve the cause of
- 55:47Arabat. It comes from something
- 55:50Inshallah. And all of this is shala sadaq
- 55:52ajaria for your late father, Ahmed Allah.
- 55:55And all the more mini moment. So and he would tell me, I've
- 56:00told him don't jump on the couch.
- 56:03Every time he would, he would say, Baba, I'm jumping on the
- 56:07couch. It's probably 5 or 6 kids want
- 56:11their parents to see. So he would know that the only
- 56:16time that I would see him is when he's doing something wrong.
- 56:19When he's doing something right, I'm not paying attention.
- 56:24So he will keep doing what he wants to do and he wants this
- 56:26father's attention. If as a parent, if I don't give
- 56:29attention to my kids because I as a father, I'm busy, Mom is
- 56:33busy working, which is the she doesn't, she doesn't have to.
- 56:36The father must work. Bring halal income.
- 56:39Mothers and the father, they both reduce their expectations
- 56:42so they can live humbly, so she can take care of them and give
- 56:45all the attention. So when he grows up, he won't go
- 56:47into school and try to get attention of that other sex.
- 56:52This kept walking my nerve. I traveled to another country.
- 56:57I need the parents to see if they have a troublemaker.
- 56:59Kids see it from this perspective.
- 57:02I went to another country. I was sitting with a friend of
- 57:04mine. He was telling me about a very,
- 57:06very rare illness of his son. That his son, if he gets small
- 57:14head, a bone breaks, small cut the blood won't stop, coughs
- 57:20blood, cries blood, anything has to do with blood.
- 57:25It's chaos every day, Najas in the house every day it's a
- 57:30disaster. And that mind that they had to
- 57:32spend on this kid and he was telling me about his scenarios.
- 57:37I was like Oh my God, Al Hamdallah, my son is healthy.
- 57:42I still remember I left him. I went to 2nd floor.
- 57:45I called my wife, I said let him burn the house, let him do
- 57:51whatever he wants. He's healthy, He's healthy,
- 57:54Alhamdulillah, Let him take the couch and take the knife and
- 57:59tear it apart. He's healthy.
- 58:01Because I can't manage seeing a kid cries blood.
- 58:05Something happens to them, we forget.
- 58:07So having this mercy, no restriction, paying attention to
- 58:11them from young age when they get to age of maturity and
- 58:14having tough conversation with them from young age.
- 58:19When you say tough, do you mean like having difficult
- 58:22conversations? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:24So if you're open with them, you'll be comfortable.
- 58:27Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those topics that's difficult
- 58:29for you to talk about it when you and them have that kind of
- 58:33bond, you won't feel awkward because a lot of parents, they
- 58:37feel awkward because they come OK, you know, I am that fatherly
- 58:40and motherly figure up here. They are down here.
- 58:43No, if you're together with them and that brings closeness to of
- 58:47age, the older I get married. Some of the bills.
- 58:51Trust so my kids will always come to school when they were
- 58:55they would come from school they would say dad, we're so happy
- 58:58why Hezekiah the first they wouldn't go to school.
- 59:00Everybody says OK, my parents this and this is this age and
- 59:05they will feel really surprised when we are really close with
- 59:08one another. So early marriage, feeling them,
- 59:12understanding them, understanding their language,
- 59:15having mercy, having communication, paying attention.
- 59:18This becomes a whole package that you can plant the seed of
- 59:21wilaya in them. But if you don't have a good
- 59:23relationship everything that they see even wilaya, they will
- 59:26start hating wilaya because of the relationship that you.
- 59:28Have now these are amazing points and stories and
- 59:32experiences. Like your?
- 59:33Own life, may Allah. To you and your.
- 59:35Family, your children likewise, it's amazing to hear because
- 59:40normally we think like, you know, if someone's got a shake
- 59:43or a say that, yeah, it's going to be the most boring life ever.
- 59:47But no, you can really have fun and raise them within a
- 59:50beautiful Islamic Serbia. And, and you know, I, I've seen
- 59:54it happen in my own community where, for example, believe it
- 59:58or not, like when people look at religious families, for example,
- 1:00:02they feel like, you know what, you're missing out.
- 1:00:04You know, I know we're having the best fun in the most halal
- 1:00:07way possible. And that's what makes it
- 1:00:09beautiful is that we raised the children on halal.
- 1:00:12The other day I took my daughter, my youngest.
- 1:00:16She, I picked her from school literally on Monday, which was
- 1:00:20yesterday. Her teacher that they have
- 1:00:23recording this episode, her teacher told me she got 10 out
- 1:00:25of 10 and her spending, she had a spelling test.
- 1:00:28And this was the first time she got 10 out of 10 for me.
- 1:00:31That was a very proud moment for her.
- 1:00:33She wants the reward. I said, no problem, what do you
- 1:00:36want? She wanted a crisp, a Jelly
- 1:00:39maraschino. We went to the shop.
- 1:00:41It was full of children, chaos. But she went looking around and
- 1:00:46Sheikhna wallah this for me, this this moment was like it
- 1:00:49reassured me. She picked up something.
- 1:00:51It was like a long, I don't know what they call this like in the
- 1:00:55UKI think it's called sorbet tongue or something that's like
- 1:00:59a colourful long sweet. She's like, can you read if it's
- 1:01:02halal? Myself, she knew my how old
- 1:01:06she's I think she's she's recently turned 6.
- 1:01:09I mean, she's not that and it's not really conversations we've
- 1:01:13had. But for me that told me it's
- 1:01:14like, OK, there's something happening that's good at that
- 1:01:17age. She's telling me Baba checked if
- 1:01:19it's halal even like for example, we'd go supermarkets
- 1:01:23here in the UK, Tesco's as there's you'll pass aisles that
- 1:01:27have alcoholic beverages. Just say Baba, don't look, don't
- 1:01:30look. Shay par, the Shay par.
- 1:01:33This is alpha and the sunshine. Yeah.
- 1:01:35So these things like, I think even as parents, when we see
- 1:01:38them having these small things, it's like we have reassurances
- 1:01:42in a way, OK, we're doing something right or.
- 1:01:45Let me say something to for you to do right now Charlie go home
- 1:01:48today grade was good. They need to be rewarded when
- 1:01:55you go home today. You said you bring her, you said
- 1:01:58her under your lap. Tell her I'm so.
- 1:02:00I'm so proud of you that you cared about halal and Haram
- 1:02:03yesterday. That was so nice of you.
- 1:02:06Leave them. This appreciation will be so
- 1:02:11much in their mind because this is next day.
- 1:02:14They think you forgot it. And not only they doesn't show
- 1:02:19any importance, but you when you reiterate that this will stay in
- 1:02:22their mind. Like this is what my father is
- 1:02:25looking for. And I'm so proud of that, that
- 1:02:28you thought about halal and Haram.
- 1:02:30One more thing, a last blessing with one daughter.
- 1:02:34Time of hijab came and right now is a good time for you.
- 1:02:36Also age 7, slowly, slowly they have to get to know of it and on
- 1:02:40and off. Yeah, there time of her job was
- 1:02:43my daughter. She's seen my wife always
- 1:02:45wearing abaya. So always from young age we buy
- 1:02:49abaya for them. And this is what they like,
- 1:02:51colorful. They want it themselves like
- 1:02:53they they want to see themselves like their mother.
- 1:02:55They imitate their mother, correct.
- 1:02:58So slowly, slowly she started growing up and she started going
- 1:03:02to school and hoodies, very baggy hoodies above knee.
- 1:03:07She's still 7-8. Nothing wrong with it.
- 1:03:11Loose clothes. Nothing wrong with it.
- 1:03:14Well, there's a time for her to go a little bit lower than knee.
- 1:03:17Right timing. One day she was the birth of
- 1:03:21Zayeda Zaynab. And I was away.
- 1:03:22We came back. She's like that.
- 1:03:24You didn't take us anywhere for lady Birth of Lady Zaynab.
- 1:03:26I was like, oh, you're right. Remember, the plan was only 14
- 1:03:30miles home. And now, ladies.
- 1:03:32OK, let's go. What do you want?
- 1:03:34Let's go to McDonald's. OK, McDonald's.
- 1:03:35McDonald's Got a ice cream. Happy moment, leaving the car,
- 1:03:40coming back home. I tell her Babati, from now on
- 1:03:45the hoodies that you buy, make sure it's blow your knee.
- 1:03:50Yes Baba, she's happy she got what she wants.
- 1:03:53Right now it's for me to ask for one thing.
- 1:03:56From that moment onward, every time she went by outside, she
- 1:03:59make sure she bought a hoodie that was beneath her knee.
- 1:04:02Couple of years later, OK, right now it's about the time for
- 1:04:05shoulder. I buy it.
- 1:04:06We went to Costco. She wants some of this big
- 1:04:09squishy toy, something like that.
- 1:04:11I forgot the name of it was something big squishy toy.
- 1:04:14She bought it, she came outside. Thank you, blah, blah.
- 1:04:16Thank you, thank you. I said Hamdulillah, said
- 1:04:18Hamdulillah and everything. Right now when you go home, have
- 1:04:22your mom to give you your shoulder.
- 1:04:24I buy it. From now on, you're around 9:10.
- 1:04:28It's the time for no longer hoodies.
- 1:04:30Nothing. Right now it's the shoulder.
- 1:04:32I buy it. The same thing with the head.
- 1:04:33I buy it. When we need whatever we need
- 1:04:35for our kids. We have to know the right
- 1:04:37timing. They're happy.
- 1:04:39They're joy. We bought them something.
- 1:04:41They feel themselves that I owe it to my father.
- 1:04:43Let me do something. Well, one small thing right now
- 1:04:47with your Salah on time, whatever it is that we want
- 1:04:51them, that would be very. Important and thank you for
- 1:04:53sharing this, by the way, because you know, I, I think it
- 1:04:56answers a lot of things that we see in our communities.
- 1:04:59Maybe I'm just the way I see things.
- 1:05:00Maybe I'm wrong and people feel free to correct me.
- 1:05:04I know that I don't feel it. I know it for a fact that when a
- 1:05:10parent nowadays cares may sound wrong, but I'm not saying they
- 1:05:17don't have a lot for the children.
- 1:05:18I don't say their intention is not to raise them with the best
- 1:05:22of terribly, and I'm sure they have that intention.
- 1:05:24I'm sure. But there was the timing because
- 1:05:27when they care, I've realized this, I've realized this and
- 1:05:31they care when it's too late. They care when the when their
- 1:05:34children are hanging with their own crowd.
- 1:05:36They care when the children are mixing with the wrong people, be
- 1:05:41it they've gone and been in an environment that's not
- 1:05:46permissible and Nigel Allah, they've walked towards Haram,
- 1:05:49they've chased Haram and then they come and say talk to my son
- 1:05:53or things like this. But where were you all this
- 1:05:56time? I know speaking about daughters
- 1:05:58as well, and I think this is a very, it's nice, you know,
- 1:06:01hearing what the Adam Bates encourage us to do, how we
- 1:06:04should spend time with them and talk with them.
- 1:06:06A lot of the time, fathers are absent.
- 1:06:08No doubt. And and and I see they only get
- 1:06:10involved when it comes to the time of marriage.
- 1:06:12No doubt. What have you been on this?
- 1:06:14Yeah, yeah, yeah. And, and when, when I say, for
- 1:06:17example, fathers are absent, even has more negative impacts
- 1:06:20because when a father and and I believe this is chef, when a
- 1:06:24father doesn't show love to to the females in his family, in
- 1:06:28particular his daughters, they're alone as sisters or
- 1:06:31siblings and whatnot. Or when a father doesn't show it
- 1:06:33to his daughter. If Lasama Hala, she becomes, you
- 1:06:36know, she goes college one day and the male comes to her and
- 1:06:39says I love you. She has never heard that say I
- 1:06:43love you. True, True.
- 1:06:44True. There are some fathers I know.
- 1:06:46They've never said I love you to that children I never embraced.
- 1:06:49It I put them. I Why is it?
- 1:06:51And then when it comes and someone else now Muharram comes
- 1:06:54and embraces them or says I love you and then it's too late.
- 1:06:58What do you do? He's the man of my life and we
- 1:07:02have this what you're saying from Hadith, from Rasulullah.
- 1:07:04And now whenever Allahabad, the Atfal Fakhalaweido Lauder
- 1:07:08Zamatman about him, he was walking, he saw a group of
- 1:07:12children. He said woe to the parents of
- 1:07:16the children of Akhra Zaman, Kale, Arasulullah, mean Abu
- 1:07:21Ayman mushrikin like woe to these kafar parents,
- 1:07:27Khalilahman, Abu Ayman, mumminin believers, woe to these parents.
- 1:07:33Why? Why woe to these parents?
- 1:07:35Asolah said Lao Alimuna Humshay and Min Al Faradev they don't
- 1:07:40teach them any of their watch about in the best of manner in
- 1:07:44their action with the recommendation, with gifting,
- 1:07:48with rewarding all the that we talked kids.
- 1:07:51Alhamdulillah was able to find a good friend.
- 1:07:56Kid was able to turn on the YouTube channel.
- 1:07:57So after my podcast was able to learn what I'll do an home.
- 1:08:07What? You don't have to be this
- 1:08:08religious. Whatever you're doing.
- 1:08:11Basic, it's OK. Don't take it too seriously.
- 1:08:13Menedonia fanna men home Barry on home Mini Bara.
- 1:08:18I disassociate myself from these kind of parents that they don't
- 1:08:21teach for our health. And they say when it comes to
- 1:08:24dunya, they look after dunya when it comes to their acara, I
- 1:08:28think. And then scary hadis.
- 1:08:31Oh yeah. Because it's.
- 1:08:33Not saying we should. No, no.
- 1:08:34Yeah, yeah, yeah. Emphasize it.
- 1:08:37Because he did. They don't teach them.
- 1:08:39As a father, I know it's our responsibility to bring food on
- 1:08:41the table and to provide, no doubt.
- 1:08:44But again, one story here, one advice there, one suggestion
- 1:08:47here, one reward there. It goes a long way.
- 1:08:50They look up to us, no? No, it does.
- 1:08:52It does, Chef. No, I, I, I, I, Of course, I
- 1:08:55don't want to move from the discussion points, but I think
- 1:08:58if we can just move towards another section that I want to
- 1:09:03discuss today and that is discussing or having difficult
- 1:09:06conversations with your children.
- 1:09:10And I'm not talking about, for example, growing up analysis and
- 1:09:14things like this. I'm talking about sensitive
- 1:09:16times when it comes to dealing with, for example, having so
- 1:09:20many friends or at school or dealing with, for example.
- 1:09:25Again, it happens. Yeah.
- 1:09:26And I, I still remember I was in year 7 and year eight.
- 1:09:29That means I was 11 and 12 years old.
- 1:09:32I'd have so many friends at school.
- 1:09:34We'll be debating about. I'm on heart.
- 1:09:37Are you on heart? And, and I don't think we
- 1:09:40prepare our children for this. And I think it's out of fear.
- 1:09:48It's about we don't want to hurt other people's, we don't want to
- 1:09:51reach people's sensitivity, we don't want to cross any lines.
- 1:09:54This new rise of unity and just put everything down the table
- 1:09:58like there there is a fair of having these discussions with
- 1:10:03our children. And I'll say it as blunt as it
- 1:10:05is, the events of Sarifa, the biggest thing I think any Shiite
- 1:10:09can face growing up is having discussions with other people is
- 1:10:13OK. Why don't you Revere 1-2 and
- 1:10:16three, if we don't train our children they may become
- 1:10:21brainwashed and we see this happen and normally affects the
- 1:10:24people. They may not.
- 1:10:25They are getting brainwashed. They are 100% I know this and if
- 1:10:28not they're getting brainwashed. They're saying you're less a
- 1:10:30fitness like they don't. They're mixing hot with bottle.
- 1:10:34I know it's hard, like right now I don't know how to tell my
- 1:10:37daughter. For example, the the the caliphs
- 1:10:42attacked the home of Lady Fatman Zahra.
- 1:10:45She knows, for example, when we go Husseinia, it's what
- 1:10:49commemorating the martyrdom of Lady Fatima.
- 1:10:52Her home was attacked, but I haven't told her who done it
- 1:10:54yet. Like how do I have these
- 1:10:57conversations to prepare them not just so that they can answer
- 1:11:01questions by other people from different sects when they're at
- 1:11:03school and protect the owner. How to protect the and to know
- 1:11:08they are on hack. That's a tough one because it's
- 1:11:13kids. You can tell me and I'll tell
- 1:11:14you that was easy children. I think it's.
- 1:11:17See, I think tawel D and Tabari, which is part of our food idea,
- 1:11:23and then will I to be part of our sort of Dean Mama?
- 1:11:28I think it's nothing that we can sugarcoat.
- 1:11:31And I argue that we must be completely frank and honest with
- 1:11:36them because I've seen parents who have not different
- 1:11:41committees that I go, different state, different countries,
- 1:11:43different provinces. People come to me young, young
- 1:11:47as I mean 2526. And they say, well, the first
- 1:11:50and second, we've done some good things.
- 1:11:52They were the ones who were the cause of the spread of Islam and
- 1:11:57why we are doing this and this, that and the other.
- 1:12:00So with our kids in our houses as much as we do Salawat loud
- 1:12:06and we have the love of aliabait, cursing the enemies of
- 1:12:10Arabic Ali Mussalam and sending land which is Quranic should be
- 1:12:14the same. And we explain to them, for
- 1:12:18example, I have my kids even a young age.
- 1:12:20And so OK, when it comes to discussions, we want to be
- 1:12:24academic. No problem.
- 1:12:25Academic. Have you become sona.com?
- 1:12:27See right now you can read and write.
- 1:12:29OK, have you become see, I was, I was there's a way to do it.
- 1:12:33I was doing this research, says Rasul Allah said in sunna.com,
- 1:12:37in the books of non Shia Fatima Tumba Atom Minim and Adahafakad
- 1:12:40Adani. Fatima is part of me.
- 1:12:42Anybody who harms her, hurts her, bothers her, angers her,
- 1:12:45angers me. It's there not once, not placed,
- 1:12:47not 2, not 3, not 5. And see right now also
- 1:12:50sunna.com, it says Fatima Tazara died while she was angry at
- 1:12:55Ababak and Omar. It's sunna.com.
- 1:12:57Literally, I'm not saying anything out of, again,
- 1:13:01sunnah.com, sunnah.com. I sent Sawab of Salawa to the
- 1:13:05person who did sunnah.com who made all of these books
- 1:13:08available. Arabic and English.
- 1:13:10It's very easy to search. Also, it's a very easy
- 1:13:12translation. All the Saha books are there.
- 1:13:15People can research it. See Baba, this is what it says.
- 1:13:18I think we have to. I mean, there's nothing to hide
- 1:13:21since it's mentioned in them. The event of Salifa, it's
- 1:13:24mentioned in them. Razia, Tuyama Chamis is
- 1:13:26mentioned in there. It's all in sunnah.com.
- 1:13:29Let me just go and tell them every week, once a week when
- 1:13:32we're coming back. Well, in my majority, I say it.
- 1:13:35I say ABBA back commanded and Omar came and attacked the door
- 1:13:39of Fatima tazarasondhna.com. He came and he said if you don't
- 1:13:42leave, tell us. It's historical facts.
- 1:13:46I'm not saying more or less exactly as the text says within
- 1:13:50history. They're reading about the
- 1:13:52history of X&Y&Z, of the Western communities and societies and
- 1:13:58what happened. Well, this is the history of a
- 1:14:00stop. When they teach them the history
- 1:14:02and the school today sugarcoat this person, that person, he
- 1:14:07didn't do it. No, they don't exactly as the
- 1:14:10history. Why don't we do the same thing?
- 1:14:13Tell us, be blunt. Tell them what this is what
- 1:14:15happened. This is what happened.
- 1:14:17Tawadi is this means Tawadi is this.
- 1:14:21I think from young age they should see Tawadi and Tawadi
- 1:14:25within the life of the parents again.
- 1:14:28As much as we emphasize on the love of Alibait Ali Masala,
- 1:14:30which we must, Adel Hadir, Adel Zara, Adel Barah also same equal
- 1:14:37the same time we teach them, we respect, we respect other
- 1:14:40people's belief. We do not unite with them, we
- 1:14:44coexist with them. They can't believe whatever they
- 1:14:46believe. You have a non Shia friends, you
- 1:14:48go out with them, you chill with them, you bring to our house,
- 1:14:51we're all Muslims, no problem. But they know this is hack and
- 1:14:55that is bothered. They can't believe whatever they
- 1:14:57want to believe. Same thing that they have a
- 1:14:58Christian friends, so they have non-muslim friends.
- 1:15:02We told them OK, they don't believe in their rights.
- 1:15:04They believe Jesus is like this. OK.
- 1:15:05We told them same thing with a non Shia.
- 1:15:07Completely frank and honest. Yeah, no, that's, that's, that's
- 1:15:10very good. You know, I think it's a very
- 1:15:12practical advice. Now you're comparing it to like
- 1:15:14Christians and. Things.
- 1:15:15Yeah. You know what?
- 1:15:16The the just literally the other day, chef, and I'm I'm happy
- 1:15:20asking you these questions because I'm getting answers for
- 1:15:22myself, literally. So this podcast is for you, of
- 1:15:26course. So I have to charge you double.
- 1:15:32Literally the other day my, my daughter's school, they took my
- 1:15:37eldest daughter, they took her to one week, they took her to a
- 1:15:40synagogue one week they took her to a church.
- 1:15:42One week they took her, I think, I'm not sure what the Sikh place
- 1:15:46is called the temple. And just a few weeks back they
- 1:15:51took her to a mosque and it was a Sunni mosque, which was very
- 1:15:56interesting because when she came back home that day, she
- 1:15:59told. How old is she?
- 1:16:01So she was 6 Hanian. So she told me we went to the
- 1:16:07mosque, they showed us how to do although and I knew exactly
- 1:16:15where I was going to go. I'm like, how did they do
- 1:16:17although? So she was explaining and
- 1:16:19everything and even like when they were praying, the folding
- 1:16:21of the arms I think. And I was like, I'm glad.
- 1:16:24Now she's not asking out of confused, being confused.
- 1:16:29No, she's curious. Why are there other types of
- 1:16:31Muslims out there? Right.
- 1:16:34And, and, and I think for me that like set the stage and
- 1:16:36where I've been like slowly explaining to her, there's other
- 1:16:40sects, people have different interpretations, people have
- 1:16:44different readings of history and whatnot.
- 1:16:46But however, we are on hack and we can back it by hack.
- 1:16:50And I even, I remember even telling her you should go back
- 1:16:52to your teacher and start a conversation with her because
- 1:16:56her teacher's also Muslim. By the way, she doesn't follow
- 1:16:59the path of the island bait. And I was like, you should tell
- 1:17:01her also to in the future, for example, you should recommend to
- 1:17:04them to explain your the Shia way.
- 1:17:07And that was the first time she understood.
- 1:17:09So where Shia? Yeah, where Shia was them.
- 1:17:11And that's where the whole conversation.
- 1:17:13And I was starting to think, OK, now how do I explain other
- 1:17:15things? How do I go?
- 1:17:17Because we live in a world, in a society where we're side by side
- 1:17:20with these people. True.
- 1:17:21Of course we. Don't want this with nothing we
- 1:17:23get. Along we say Salam.
- 1:17:25Nothing wrong with. It we, we, we we.
- 1:17:27We go to the We eat at the same restaurant.
- 1:17:29The best, Yeah, of course it doesn't mean that we, you know,
- 1:17:32mix truth with falsehood and start revering who they.
- 1:17:35We are, let me see, right now, even right now, your approach I
- 1:17:38think is dangerous. It is.
- 1:17:41I think we should be very, very raw and tell them this is hack.
- 1:17:46Again, this is black and white when it comes to arcade of Will.
- 1:17:52And we do have to use wordings and terminologies and stuff that
- 1:17:56they can learn, no doubt. I mean, we have to talk to them
- 1:18:01to deliver the interest. So bringing for as a story, how
- 1:18:05can I bring the event of Sakifa within story and teach them
- 1:18:10that? OK, I've done this with one time
- 1:18:12I went to school do one of the massage it young kids and was
- 1:18:19doing that far far to me. Yeah, I said, OK, how can I
- 1:18:21teach them far to me? Yeah, OK, These people don't
- 1:18:23know anything. OK, This is the case.
- 1:18:25There was this person who had a big farm.
- 1:18:27He established the biggest farm on earth and everybody was
- 1:18:31benefiting from this farm and he worked 23 years to make sure all
- 1:18:35the walls are there. He planted the best of seeds.
- 1:18:38He brought the best of fruits and vegetables and everything is
- 1:18:41in this farm. He watered it, gave everything
- 1:18:44he was about to leave. Well, he had two, He had two
- 1:18:48options. Either there was a person who
- 1:18:50was from young age with him, from age 10, every time he went
- 1:18:54to this farm, he was with him. Everything that he did in this
- 1:18:57farm, he saw him, everything. He's about to give the key of
- 1:19:00this farm to someone. Should he give it to this person
- 1:19:03who's right now age 30 and he knows all the little detail of
- 1:19:07the farm or which the holy world is fed by this farm?
- 1:19:13Or should he leave the key in the middle of the square?
- 1:19:16It's a circle in the city. And let people decide who will
- 1:19:19pick up. And there were people back
- 1:19:21before that, they wanted to destroy this farm because they
- 1:19:24want to sell their own bad food. OK, So their language, their own
- 1:19:28snacks and stuff. So it's all playing together.
- 1:19:31Everybody's. Of course you give it to the one
- 1:19:32who was with you for past 20 years, OK, Well, he did it.
- 1:19:36He did say OK and told people I'm giving it to a person who
- 1:19:39knows me, who knows this farm, who knows every little detail
- 1:19:42about farming and happily ever after.
- 1:19:45He gave him the key and he left this world.
- 1:19:48But those people were not happy with this.
- 1:19:51This person was living in his household with his family in
- 1:19:55this farm and he was protecting this farm.
- 1:19:57They came and they said either you give us the key or we will
- 1:20:01come and we will burn the whole farm.
- 1:20:06And they came and they burned that door, and the lady came.
- 1:20:10Well, right now this is the case.
- 1:20:12Well, this is the event of Fatimiya Amira Mumini.
- 1:20:15Fatimid Zara Rasulullah. The farmer stays in their mind.
- 1:20:18Yeah. It's more digestible.
- 1:20:20There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:21Rather just being historical, you have to how this says, make
- 1:20:25it easy for them. If you have a Sabi kid, be kid
- 1:20:28like them. Literally be a kid back.
- 1:20:30To them on their level. To the level Rasul Allah, Amir
- 1:20:33Morminian, they used to kneel on the ground and the kids will
- 1:20:36come on their shoulder and they will play with them.
- 1:20:39So when you have that level until tell them everything with
- 1:20:42the story. Give them everything.
- 1:20:45Hello, just like the Quran, that's all stories, that's it.
- 1:20:47You know, adults, we benefit from it.
- 1:20:48Yeah. And I think that's that's a very
- 1:20:50practical way I'll implementation on the door
- 1:20:54Inshallah. Inshallah.
- 1:20:55I you know, we live in a day and age where Hamdullah we are
- 1:21:01blessed with technology and at times technology can either
- 1:21:04become a blessing or it can. Become a curse, right?
- 1:21:07Yeah, yeah. We've seen technology ruined
- 1:21:09families, We've seen technology destroy children, be it them
- 1:21:17coming across inappropriate content or having access to the
- 1:21:22world and different ideas and different things that we
- 1:21:28shouldn't look at as Muslims, Yes, but at the same time,
- 1:21:31there's also benefit in technology.
- 1:21:33And one thing is like Charlotte of the Mahara podcast as well,
- 1:21:36but the benefits of technology is that we also have access to
- 1:21:40reach out to children. And in the world where
- 1:21:45technology's part and parcel of every home almost, I don't know
- 1:21:49a single child who doesn't own at least one gadget, be it a
- 1:21:53watch that's for children, or be it an iPad or an iPhone or have
- 1:21:58share of some form of technology.
- 1:22:00All right. So there is a way where our
- 1:22:03children are consuming content, our children are watching TV,
- 1:22:07our children are watching YouTube, our children are coming
- 1:22:10across gaming and gaming is a huge, huge thing.
- 1:22:14We've seen as much in my, I remember as a kid when it came
- 1:22:20to games, we had no choice. We ever had, like in my family,
- 1:22:25I ever had to have a game that had no music.
- 1:22:27I had to have a game that had. No blood, no gun, no.
- 1:22:31Guns no, you know, even if like a few of the skin is that I
- 1:22:36can't play even on my I was like, I don't know San Andreas
- 1:22:40GTAI remember was 12. I told Baba, you know, let's go
- 1:22:44because it had to be 18 plus. Why is the game, the intro was
- 1:22:48inappropriate to the game. But these are the things like,
- 1:22:52but, but now we can have an option to give our children.
- 1:22:55And I know there's a project you're working on, and I'm very
- 1:22:58interested to learn more about it.
- 1:23:01And I'm sure our listeners and our audience will be very
- 1:23:03interested to see an alternative for our kids because we're
- 1:23:06tired. I'm tired of constantly, for
- 1:23:09example, watching what they're playing constantly, you know OK
- 1:23:12what's being played in the background.
- 1:23:14For example. What is the genre of the game
- 1:23:17like? What is the theme of the game?
- 1:23:19Sometimes the games there there is like morals.
- 1:23:22No doubt there is subliminal messages.
- 1:23:24Subliminal. And very famously, we have
- 1:23:26something called Rob Roblox. I'm sure you've heard of this.
- 1:23:29There are different servers and different walls that people can
- 1:23:32get into. And it's it's, it's a disaster.
- 1:23:34Basically. There's an entire wall that can
- 1:23:37become very dangerous. But now I believe we're working
- 1:23:40towards an alternative for our community in.
- 1:23:43Particular Al Hamdallah, Yes, it's been Al Hamdallah.
- 1:23:47It's been a five years journey, a five years university for me
- 1:23:51actually, that I learned the game industry.
- 1:23:54I never was in the industry. I never played games maybe once
- 1:23:57or twice when I was probably 9:00 or 10:00.
- 1:23:59And after that, I never, never find joy in it, never learned
- 1:24:04anything from it. But five years ago we figured
- 1:24:06out that unfortunately, our Shia community and the Muslim
- 1:24:09community at large is missing the transferring of information
- 1:24:13to the kids. As much as we want our kids to
- 1:24:16learn about Akita ulaya, albeit morality, akhlaq and so on and
- 1:24:19so forth, they're not coming to our massages once a week.
- 1:24:23Saturday school, as we mentioned, is not enough or
- 1:24:25Sunday schooled and there was nothing done as far as terribie
- 1:24:28of at what upbringing, raising of children.
- 1:24:32There are books here, there from the some books, maybe animation
- 1:24:36here, there, 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, a couple of
- 1:24:38books, stories, that's it. But something that will raise
- 1:24:42the children and will be A to the parents, will help the
- 1:24:46parents through the journey of upbringing.
- 1:24:50Hamdullah we started this thing that OK, the only thing that we
- 1:24:53can do to affect the kids is to meet them where they are, not
- 1:24:56bring them where we are. And that's the game industry
- 1:24:59brought a group of psychologists gave us a research, about a year
- 1:25:02and a half of research of the development of kids from age 7
- 1:25:05onward. We tell them until age 7, we
- 1:25:06don't want anything for the kids.
- 1:25:07They have to be free. 7 onward, they gave us research how how
- 1:25:11they develop and what age they should learn what.
- 1:25:13And it was all a based on the Western research.
- 1:25:17And I told them, I'll take this. I brought a group of scholars,
- 1:25:20put them together, give us a hadith that will match and we
- 1:25:24can drive these teachings from the teachings because they're
- 1:25:29not trial and error basis. Everything is valid. 1400 years
- 1:25:32ago today and onward a scenario Hamdallah came together and
- 1:25:37after three years the production began 2 years ago and we made
- 1:25:43the first ever game that is based on the teachings of albeit
- 1:25:49Alayhi Musalam and Quran completely the AKA, the
- 1:25:54subliminal, the surface, all morality and akhlaq and the
- 1:25:59quality. I told the team of almost 40
- 1:26:02people, we have technical team that working on it and it hasn't
- 1:26:07break my back Alhamdulillah breaking my back for the sake of
- 1:26:10albeit Ali Musalam that I want. We are competing with the West,
- 1:26:13so it has to be that when a kid sees it as far as the quality,
- 1:26:17they see this game to be something that they really want
- 1:26:19to play. It's not that the parents OK
- 1:26:20forcing them OK you have to play and they get take the game.
- 1:26:23They're bored out of it for the 1st 5 minutes and they just put
- 1:26:26it aside. We might sold the game and we
- 1:26:28made the money so we can go to the next game, but that's not
- 1:26:32the mission. We want to make sure that the
- 1:26:34kid so the bulk of the story is about these 12 trees that eleven
- 1:26:38of them were killed and this kid is going to go to see the
- 1:26:42journey to see what happened to these trees.
- 1:26:44And through it, we teach them Allah, we teach them morality.
- 1:26:47We talk, we teach them no to say to Haram, but none of them when
- 1:26:50a kid plays it doesn't think it's Islamic like a non she I
- 1:26:54will take the game. You won't understand the Shia
- 1:26:55game a Christian will play. They will understand it's a Shia
- 1:26:58game because it's morality based.
- 1:27:01And when they enter, they have a place for non music and music
- 1:27:03like we have given this option. You don't want music to be
- 1:27:05played in the game that they I'd say, and it's not a so some
- 1:27:10mirage even that music is allowed, but for some mirage
- 1:27:13that we understand that is not allowed.
- 1:27:15So we gave these two options to our followers and those people
- 1:27:19who will buy this game inshallah and they will support the next
- 1:27:22game is already the scenario. We're already working on it.
- 1:27:25The first game, it was a heck of a lot of money was needed and
- 1:27:29that's why I see no why nobody comes into it.
- 1:27:32And Terbia is something that we cannot see the effect right
- 1:27:34away. It's a long journey.
- 1:27:37So I told the team 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10 games we have to make.
- 1:27:40So inshallah the teaser will be the trailer will be released by
- 1:27:45you guys and they will be able to see it after the program.
- 1:27:48And Sharla, we hope we can sponsor programs that after
- 1:27:52matter podcast inshallah. We have good sell inshallah,
- 1:27:54inshallah and we have a long way to go together.
- 1:27:58Inshallah, no. This is an amazing project.
- 1:28:00I I think it's something that it's needed.
- 1:28:02It's something that I think we should be supporting, especially
- 1:28:06in this day and age, in the 21st century.
- 1:28:09This is an alternative, no? Doubt.
- 1:28:12I would be happy knowing my girls, they're playing this
- 1:28:15game. The morality is in check, The
- 1:28:19Akhlaq is in check, the storyline, it's.
- 1:28:24What else do you want? Yeah.
- 1:28:25I mean, you can't go wrong. And it's a safe space.
- 1:28:27And I think it's nice to allow our young children to enjoy
- 1:28:30life, have fun in a very safe environment.
- 1:28:34And this is 1 means I think I'm looking forward.
- 1:28:36I'm really looking forward. And Shallah, maybe the maybe.
- 1:28:42Am I the first to know? I'm not sure.
- 1:28:43Am I the first to know? Yes, I mean we haven't released
- 1:28:47a trailer after Merkel would have the exclusive to be the
- 1:28:51first channel to broadcast the trailer inshallah and we're
- 1:28:56watching it on either idea in Charlotte.
- 1:28:58It's about almost 8 hours give or take gameplay that they can
- 1:29:02play and they can. You will enjoy it, the quality
- 1:29:04and the storyline inshallah. And we love all the feedbacks
- 1:29:07that people inshallah when they downloaded to give us the
- 1:29:08feedback because we were working on the second game already.
- 1:29:11I promised my mom I wouldn't lose my hope.
- 1:29:14The world's first game built entirely on Islamic educational
- 1:29:18and developmental principles. The first game that lays the
- 1:29:21groundwork for deep rooted foundational upbringing from
- 1:29:24early childhood. The first game that revives
- 1:29:26traditional Islamic upbringing through innovative, entertaining
- 1:29:29educational methods. The first game that speaks your
- 1:29:32child's language while conveying profound religious and human
- 1:29:35values. A game that builds your children
- 1:29:37with purpose and care. It nurtures and raises a
- 1:29:40generation of faith and commitment.
- 1:29:42Our goal is simple, to raise and develop extraordinary
- 1:29:45individuals through the power of play.
- 1:29:47An upbringing that flows naturally from within
- 1:29:49entertainment. An upbringing that's easy,
- 1:29:52engaging, Islamic, and purposeful.
- 1:29:54A different game for a different generation.
- 1:29:57In a world overwhelmed by cultural, moral and ideological
- 1:30:01threats to the next generation, we've created the world's first
- 1:30:04global game inspired by Islamic Shia upbringing.
- 1:30:07A game whose mission goes far beyond entertainment.
- 1:30:10It shapes tomorrow's leaders into faithful, responsible and
- 1:30:15impactful leaders built upon cutting edge educational and
- 1:30:18psychological methods. The future begins today.
- 1:30:22Join us on a journey of deep, accessible and inspiring
- 1:30:25transformation. A new era of upbringing has
- 1:30:28begun. We Allah, we Allah give you the
- 1:30:31toffee to continue this work and make more because I I really
- 1:30:34think this is this is a gap that's being filled in our
- 1:30:37community. And so I'll send to him and
- 1:30:40hands out to all the team that you have.
- 1:30:42I've got a final question, Chef. Sure.
- 1:30:44And and I think it's one that's important, one that allows
- 1:30:48myself also to reflect my relationship with the Imam of my
- 1:30:51time. I always ask whenever I meet
- 1:30:55with learned. Well, I'm a scholars speakers.
- 1:30:58I teachers and I I ask almost the same question and they all
- 1:31:02have the like the unique way on how to answer it.
- 1:31:05But they all have the same answer then, don't they?
- 1:31:07If you want so no. So I have a Zimmer.
- 1:31:10You need to build them out of it.
- 1:31:11You need to build recognition of who the imam of your time is.
- 1:31:15But how does it work with children?
- 1:31:17Because I like, like I generally I struggle with this to, to
- 1:31:24explain because at times I feel like when I sort of explain Imam
- 1:31:27Zaman, they sort of compare it to Allah, Azzawajal, the unseen
- 1:31:31world, believing in the unseen. But how do we tell them of the
- 1:31:3712th Imam correctly? Young children, I'm talking four
- 1:31:40years old, five years old, six years old, even as far as 7 and
- 1:31:44how do we prepare them in their life journey to have like
- 1:31:49similar how you done with your children?
- 1:31:50You'd mentioned Sahaba Zaman. Thank a lot.
- 1:31:53In that sense, how can we do that to our children, prepare
- 1:31:56them to become a Charlotte, part of the Army?
- 1:31:58Yes, about 12 and Charlotte. Our kids have to see that the
- 1:32:03life of their parents is around service to Mama Zaman.
- 1:32:09When they see this, that the priority of my father, priority
- 1:32:13of my mother is about Imam and Samad is about reading.
- 1:32:17Do I had on daily basis reading Zahad Ali Haseen, reading Do I
- 1:32:21not be on Friday and always remembering Imam and Samad
- 1:32:26during the day? The kids are watching from young
- 1:32:30age, from day one, from all they're in the womb of their
- 1:32:34mother. They are hearing us.
- 1:32:36So if I always, if I have Imama Zaman always with me and the
- 1:32:41focal point of my life is to satisfy him, they're learning
- 1:32:44it. We don't have to tell him
- 1:32:46anything that right now, whatever I did or what I like to
- 1:32:49Allah to satisfy Mama Zaman. Everything I do or how do I know
- 1:32:53I satisfy Mama Zaman is a Mama Zaman happy with this.
- 1:32:56Every decision I made is about Imama.
- 1:32:59The more they hear it, the more they hear that even I'm working
- 1:33:02right now. I'm blessed to be serving the
- 1:33:04cause of Mama Zaman in this cloth and in this journey that
- 1:33:07I'm in. So they know that my kids know I
- 1:33:09sacrifice them and I will sacrifice my family for my
- 1:33:13service. I'll try to provide and I will
- 1:33:16try to do everything for them. The best of life, happy life,
- 1:33:20everything. But they know when it comes to
- 1:33:21my service and to them, that's a priority.
- 1:33:25So they know all this traveling, oh, Baba's traveling again, you
- 1:33:28know, as Hamdullah, blessed to travel a lot.
- 1:33:31They know they will never complain.
- 1:33:32And then they know that at the end, I'm going to serve Mama
- 1:33:35Zaman. I'm going to spread the
- 1:33:36knowledge of activity on himself.
- 1:33:38So our kids must see for all of us as a parent that first, as we
- 1:33:42mentioned, all of the blessings that we have is because of Mama
- 1:33:44Zaman. Every good happens to us is
- 1:33:45because of Mama Zaman. So first is Mahabhat because you
- 1:33:47don't have the kind of that much matter of fact, the age 567.
- 1:33:51So that's the love first when they grow up right now you know
- 1:33:54Imam and Zaman. Let me start reading a couple of
- 1:33:56books. Mikhail and Mikharim doing dua
- 1:33:59for Imam and Zaman, always doing dua for Imam and Zaman.
- 1:34:03You want something for something, do the offer Imam and
- 1:34:05Zaman. We go and show all of us.
- 1:34:07We take our kids to Arvain and Karbala when we are under the
- 1:34:11dawn of Abdullah Hussain. Do offer Imam.
- 1:34:13You are sick. You want to get you want to do
- 1:34:15the offer yourself first to offer Imam and Zaman your dad is
- 1:34:19poor. You want to do the Allah make
- 1:34:21him wealthy, do the offer Mama Zaman.
- 1:34:23So the more they see that everything we want first we have
- 1:34:25to do it for Mama Zaman. They see this, they will learn
- 1:34:29it and they will be part of insha'allah.
- 1:34:31And actually comes to my mind Hamdullah do all of the father
- 1:34:34for the children. Hadith says do all of the father
- 1:34:38for his children do all of the mother has his own place no
- 1:34:41doubt, but the specific hadith the do all of the father for his
- 1:34:44children equals the do all of the prophet for his nation.
- 1:34:50So Doha as a father and your father was seeing this plus
- 1:34:54mothers both of them Allahu Maja al NI waja al Uladi with the
- 1:34:59real team and Hodam and Aja Allah make me and my children to
- 1:35:03be part of us to be part of Hodam always in our Doha in
- 1:35:06Salah today in that Allah all my generation until the all to be
- 1:35:12the servant of about Abdullah al Hussein Imam Zaman Amir Mummini
- 1:35:15Doha really matters. Doha really helps.
- 1:35:19Sound so beautiful? That's a reminder.
- 1:35:21It's a powerful reminder. The fact that sometimes all it
- 1:35:24takes is. No doubt, no doubt.
- 1:35:27Well, instead of just praying for ourselves, no, we pray for
- 1:35:31our children and Charlotte. We pray for the hastening of the
- 1:35:34reappearance of the amount of our time.
- 1:35:37And it's beautiful to raise them on that love of Imam Net.
- 1:35:40Yeah, maybe we can't give them matter for yet.
- 1:35:42Yes, but the love to build that love and similar, that's how we
- 1:35:45do it with ABBA Abdullah. It's all right.
- 1:35:49Even the, the service that we do to all the allebates, I have
- 1:35:52love for them, yes, and we will move mountains to serve them.
- 1:35:55It's very true, Habib Shekhna. I I, I really thank you for
- 1:35:58today. There is.
- 1:35:59So much for me to learn from and I'm sure I'm listening and
- 1:36:02watching. There's so much tips and tricks.
- 1:36:04It's all learned from all the students of.
- 1:36:07We all give you the toffee. Continue your service, I would
- 1:36:10say, you know, I feel, I feel that for your kids.
- 1:36:13Yeah. And you can fly 24/7 before the
- 1:36:15imam and so on. I just want you to come back to
- 1:36:17London, Inshallah, Inshallah. I don't know if there's any
- 1:36:21final words. No, thank you so much.
- 1:36:23I really appreciate you after my podcast and the team giving this
- 1:36:27opportunity for us to come and give whatever we know and share
- 1:36:31it with people knowledge of and the Quran continue.
- 1:36:35Don't give up. It's going to be bumpy Rd.
- 1:36:37More and more but inshallah bigger projects are coming ahead
- 1:36:42and we can collaborate to serve the cause of Mamazawan.
- 1:36:45Inshallah, thank you so much for your time, for your wisdom and
- 1:36:50your advice to views around the world.
- 1:36:53Once again, I want to say congratulations to you on either
- 1:36:56the auspicious occasion where we celebrate our master, our molar
- 1:37:01and we remember when we say man, Kunta, Mullah, Fahadahani and
- 1:37:04Mullah, like even as I'm saying, it brings, it brings joy, it
- 1:37:07brings joy, joy to this heart. And this is Charlotte, this joy
- 1:37:10and this love and this Muhammad, this will lie that we were
- 1:37:13raised on. We passed it down correctly to
- 1:37:15our children. So this continues in Charlotte
- 1:37:17until the day of judgement. I really hope you enjoyed this
- 1:37:22episodes. If you know there are new
- 1:37:24parents, if you know there are parents struggling or raising
- 1:37:26children, please share this episode with them so inshallah
- 1:37:29we can make their life easy. I know I learned a lot and
- 1:37:33inshallah we see you again. The next week episode was Salaam
- 1:37:37Alaikum Allahi.
