- 0:24Welcome back to Millennial Mustard Seed and Days of Noah
- 0:28teaming up once again for a micro mini, and I'm here with
- 0:32Pete. How's it going, Pete?
- 0:34It's going well, Rod. Good to be back for another
- 0:36mini. And we're going to continue this
- 0:39series on time. We don't know how much we're
- 0:45going to get through with the time we have and how many parts
- 0:51there's going to be to this series, but on this one, I know
- 0:55we wanted to talk about time from the biblical perspective,
- 1:00from God's perspective, and then the Hebrew mindset of prophecy
- 1:05cycles and patterns. So that might be more than a
- 1:09mini can handle, but I know we wanted to start with
- 1:14Ecclesiastes and kind of that that classic section of
- 1:18Scripture on a time for everything.
- 1:21Do you have that pulled up? Yeah, I have it right here.
- 1:26Ecclesiastes 3 Starting verse one There is a time for
- 1:30everything and a season for every activity under the
- 1:34heavens. A time to be born and a time to
- 1:37die. A time to plant and a time to
- 1:41uproot. A time to kill and a time to
- 1:43heal. A time to tear down and a time
- 1:47to build. There's a time to weep and
- 1:50there's a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
- 1:54A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them.
- 1:58A time to embrace, and there's a time to refrain from embracing.
- 2:04A time to search and a time to give up.
- 2:07A time to keep and a time to throw away.
- 2:10A time to tear and a time to mend.
- 2:13A time to be silent and a time to speak up.
- 2:17There's a time to love and a time to hate, and there's a time
- 2:21for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3.
- 2:26One through 8. It's very poetic, isn't it?
- 2:30It's when you actually read it, it's it's very poetic.
- 2:33It's poetic and it's powerful and it's it's just timeless
- 2:37words of wisdom. And it made me think of a
- 2:42similar concept, I think. And this has to do with having
- 2:47the right thing to say at the right moment at the right time.
- 2:52Proverbs, 2511. Like apples of gold in settings
- 2:56of silver is a word aptly spoken.
- 3:02Just saying the right word at the right moment.
- 3:06You know how how refreshing is that right?
- 3:10You you say that encouraging thing to your child when they're
- 3:13struggling with their homework. You have the right word of
- 3:18wisdom for a friend at the right moment and and they treasure
- 3:23that and they remember that for years.
- 3:27But there, yeah, there's just so much biblical wisdom for how God
- 3:32views time versus how we view it.
- 3:37You know, of course, to to God, he's not to God.
- 3:41He's not bound by the concept of time.
- 3:45It's something he created. He's outside of it.
- 3:49And so to him, 1000 years on earth is like a day to him.
- 3:56He can go back and forth and see the beginning from the end, the
- 4:00end from the beginning and declaring the end from the
- 4:08beginning. Isaiah 4610 says it's, it's hard
- 4:12to put into words the way he sees it because we're kind of
- 4:17locked in. We've talked about that linear
- 4:19concept of of time, but maybe let's shift to kind of the
- 4:27prophetic, right? Because we tend to think,
- 4:30especially with the Western mindset that the prophetic
- 4:34prophecy is something yet to be fulfilled in time that is
- 4:42predicted. But there is kind of a cyclical
- 4:47and pattern thought of prophecy that's more the Hebrew mindset.
- 4:55You want to unpack that a little bit.
- 4:57Yeah, I mean, just and real quick to tie a knot on the
- 5:00Ecclesiastes, like to drop it into four sections which
- 5:04encompass what you just brought up, A time for everything,
- 5:07showing these various seasons from beginning to end, life and
- 5:10death, planting, harvesting, the seasons of life.
- 5:14I mean it, it's highlighting the importance of recognizing the
- 5:17different stages and activities that happen throughout one's
- 5:20life. And then the cyclical nature.
- 5:22It's suggesting that life itself is a series of events that are
- 5:27that you're experiencing that are expressing a greater plan.
- 5:30It feeds into so much more than what we can wrap our heads
- 5:33around. And then contrasting the
- 5:35experiences, how passage it the passage contrast moments of joy
- 5:40and sorrow, highlighting the balance of life's experience and
- 5:44the cyclical nature is really what I mean how much of the
- 5:47Bible's prophecy it's it's circumvented right.
- 5:50It's over and over again and for God's timing and salvation.
- 5:53Well, second Corinthians 62 says for he is in time of my favor.
- 5:59I heard you and in the day of salvation I helped you.
- 6:03I tell you, now is the time of God's favor.
- 6:06Now is the day of salvation. And this is like referencing
- 6:09when you hear the living words of truth that are that are
- 6:12eternally settled in the heaven and us making, aligning
- 6:17ourselves to be a conduit for God to use his will and purpose
- 6:22through broken vessels like ourselves.
- 6:25That's some of the best time that you can spend Psalms 3115
- 6:29says my times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hands of my
- 6:33enemies from those who pursue me and you touched on the timely
- 6:38word and so this that that's mentioned in Proverbs.
- 6:41You know a person finds joy in giving an apartment reply.
- 6:46So Pete that circles back to what I talked about on the last
- 6:49micro does our emotion right. So when we align ourselves with
- 6:53God's will, when we're in his lane, right, we're we're aligned
- 6:59with him, he's able to work in and throw us.
- 7:01Does that change how we perceive time?
- 7:03I absolutely believe so. I'm being coming more and more
- 7:06convinced. But the Hebrew thoughts on time,
- 7:10they're both cyclical and linear.
- 7:13It's a synthesis that shapes the ancient Jewish life and
- 7:17spirituality. We pretty much as a Western
- 7:21culture view things linear and it seems pretty straightforward
- 7:26undirectional line, right? History this, stamp this many
- 7:31years later this happened. But the poetic or prophetic,
- 7:36which are one in the same, they're inseparable.
- 7:38God will literally use different faces, different names with very
- 7:42similar outcomes, right, Because there's one spirit, 1 truth, one
- 7:47baptism. The Bible says that the Lord
- 7:50Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy, and prophecy and
- 7:54poetry are inseparable. I highly recommend you guys go
- 7:57to YouTube after this recording and dig into the late Doctor
- 8:01Chuck Missler speaking on behalf of prophecy and poetry.
- 8:05It'll blow your mind because what the writers of the Bible
- 8:09intended for us to understand is exactly what is written, and
- 8:12that it's not meant to be poetic and rhythmic by pronunciation,
- 8:18but rhythmic by experience, chapter by chapter, line upon
- 8:22line. That means God has the same
- 8:25spirit that He used in David and in Joshua and in Caleb and in
- 8:29Moses, that same Spirit. It is Him.
- 8:32He is the Spirit of prophecy. He is a spirit.
- 8:35And if His Spirit is working in and through you, is He preparing
- 8:39in the time slot of our experience vessels to do some
- 8:43reoccurrences, to set some captives free, to bring some
- 8:47healing to the broken hearted? I think yes, absolutely yes.
- 8:52I am more and more convinced that time is a slot for us to
- 8:58experience. God is seeing all of time
- 9:00simultaneously. There's no separation or
- 9:03partiality for Him. We are just experiencing our
- 9:06slot of existence. But the same Spirit is active
- 9:09today and now that was then. So is He speaking for courage to
- 9:15rise up in the Caleb's and the Joshua's?
- 9:17I would agree and say yes, we are in a time slot.
- 9:22That is very important to understand how God works, what
- 9:25He says about time, and how He wants to use it to His
- 9:29advantage. I'm reminded of Esther for such
- 9:35a time as this. I mean everyone listening and
- 9:39Rod and myself included speaking.
- 9:41Were we were born into this time for a purpose.
- 9:46God chose that we would be here for what is taking place on the
- 9:52earth. And so being prayerful and
- 9:56mindful of God, what do you have for me?
- 10:00How do I fulfill what you have for me in this time and in this
- 10:04season that that should be near on our hearts?
- 10:09I'm challenged by that. I think about God's concept of
- 10:14the fullness of time, right? Whether it was the sin of the
- 10:18Amorites not yet being full or until the time of the Gentiles
- 10:24is fulfilled, right until the fullness of time in Galatians,
- 10:30it says there's just so many aspects to it.
- 10:35Yeah, Galatians 44. That's the one I was
- 10:37referencing. But when the fullness of the
- 10:39time had come, God sent forth his son, born of a woman, born
- 10:44under the law. Galatians 4/4 So God has a
- 10:51concept of time that is outside our perspective, but it's also
- 10:58in cycles and patterns, as we said, right, kind of that Hebrew
- 11:02mindset and Rod, I think the more that we dig into creation
- 11:08and I'm going to be talking with with with some guests coming up
- 11:14on creation and how God breathe, breathe things into existence
- 11:23and used this ancient Hebrew culture, right?
- 11:29Even the very language as Doctor Monzo describes being tied to
- 11:35points in our body. You know, the the wisdom of the
- 11:40software of our body is tied to the language that God perhaps
- 11:45used to speak creation into existence.
- 11:48Like how how mind blowing is that?
- 11:51So I think there's actually like an ancient Hebrew Jewish,
- 11:57however you want to put put it way that God created things and
- 12:02he he wired that into time as well.
- 12:09So we, we, we see that in, in the repetition of, of feasts in
- 12:15the 24 hour day in the week, in the month, all of these things
- 12:19going through cycles. And then prophetically, we have
- 12:23that Mike Heiser concept. And I think he even got the term
- 12:27from another scholar, if I remember correctly, the already
- 12:30and not yet right, where you have a partial fulfillment of
- 12:34prophecy and then later on a more full fulfillment or you
- 12:40have multiple fulfillments, right?
- 12:42And you see that with, with archetypes of, of Christ, like
- 12:46Noah was a type of Christ and Moses was, and David was, and,
- 12:51and then you have the actual Christ, you know, and, and you
- 12:55see these things played out. And so I think that speaks into,
- 13:00as we're interpreting the Bible, trying to understand what's
- 13:03already been fulfilled and what hasn't.
- 13:05You know, this is the question of preterism and partial
- 13:08preterism and futurism. You know, if I'm going to have a
- 13:12show called the Days of Noah, Well, I, I guess I'm kind of
- 13:15saying that I'm a futurist. I'm saying what Jesus said is,
- 13:20hey, these times are coming back.
- 13:24And the preterist says, no, a lot of these things have already
- 13:26been fulfilled. Well, what if it's cyclical?
- 13:29What if there's a partial fulfillment and we haven't seen
- 13:33the full fulfillment? And so we're not understanding
- 13:36that Hebrew mindset. And so we think these things
- 13:39have already happened. It's more than likely to be
- 13:44honest with you. Think about even creation alone
- 13:46in seven days, right? There's a God's motive is to
- 13:50create something. He, his activity, his spirits
- 13:53moving, hovering above the waters.
- 13:55It goes through the whole entire day by day creation scenario.
- 13:59Each one has a climax of purpose.
- 14:01And at the end of it, he says it's good.
- 14:03So we know that there's going to be, in my opinion, a actual
- 14:07millennial reign of Christ, 1000 year reign.
- 14:11It says in Revelation, do not remove or add to these words.
- 14:14And I will dare to do no such thing other than speak on behalf
- 14:18as to what is written. It says there will be 1000 year
- 14:20reign and the Christ will do exactly what he has prophesied
- 14:24to do. Let me run through just a couple
- 14:26key Hebrew words for time here with a brief description.
- 14:29I think I'll hit like maybe 3 or 4 of them.
- 14:32See if this helps connect some dots to everything we're talking
- 14:35about. Zamam, this is the general
- 14:38Hebrew word for time, often referring to a specific,
- 14:41measurable period of time. ET meaning a man.
- 14:48You're going to have to do a little cut there for me.
- 14:51ET meaning a specific opportune moment or the right time.
- 14:57It is often used to describe God's divinely fixed and
- 15:01orchestrated moments throughout history, such as the promised
- 15:04birth of the Messiah or a season of rain withheld or rain to
- 15:08come. Olam referring to a long
- 15:12duration of time, whether in the past or the future.
- 15:15It is often translated as forever, everlasting, or
- 15:18eternal, but its roots mean concealed or beyond the horizon.
- 15:24This implies a vast, unknowable time frame that stretches beyond
- 15:29human perception, and its meaning is always dependent on
- 15:32the context. Then we have the word yam, the
- 15:35word for day, but its meaning can vary greatly depending on
- 15:39its context. Typically it leans into a 24
- 15:42hour, you know, general understanding in my
- 15:46grandfather's day, a long period, days of our lives or
- 15:51even a year. So Yom can be used differently,
- 15:53but it's mainly a 24 hour period.
- 15:56And then we have Shabbat. This is the last one I'll, I'll
- 15:58bring up the Hebrew word to rest.
- 16:01It's the Sabbath. It's a weekly day of rest that
- 16:04sanctifies time and teaches that time is sacred.
- 16:07It's a sacred dimensional experience.
- 16:10It's a cathedral in time. And so God obviously commands a
- 16:14day of rest and for the Sabbath not to be forgotten.
- 16:16So how we treat time, what our motive is for time, I think God
- 16:21is trying to show us is very important.
- 16:24Like, hey, I got, you know, sometimes we'll text Pete and
- 16:27it's like, hey, I got a few minutes.
- 16:28You want to catch up? You know, the the way the
- 16:32Hebrews understood the way that they were using the word time is
- 16:35not terribly different than us in English because we'll say
- 16:39forever or eternity. But how does God view it?
- 16:43And are we in alignment with the original intention?
- 16:45I think is where we're lacking a bit in Western culture.
- 16:51Yeah. And a thought came to mind as
- 16:54well as time is a currency, right?
- 16:58It's one of our resources. We have money, we have our
- 17:01health, most of us to some degree to be able to make an
- 17:04income. It is a resource like our money,
- 17:10like our talents and gifts that we've been given.
- 17:14And not in a legalistic sense, but let's all be thinking and
- 17:19praying about how to please God with that time use as a
- 17:23resource. And with that thought in mind,
- 17:27Rod, maybe let's finish reading some of the the verses that you
- 17:31have on the last page of the notes here.
- 17:36James 44. James 414.
- 17:39Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.
- 17:42What is your life? For you are a mist that appears
- 17:46for a little time, and then vanishes.
- 17:50Jeremiah 2911 For I know the plans I have for you, declares
- 17:54the Lord, plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you a
- 17:57future in a hope. And what is future but time yet
- 18:03fulfilled? Psalm 3115.
- 18:08My times are in your hand. Rescue me from the hand of my
- 18:12enemies and from my persecutors. Colossians 4-5 walk in wisdom
- 18:19towards outsiders, making the best use of the time.
- 18:24Those are a few of them. Roddy, do you want to read a
- 18:26couple more or just maybe just wrap up on this series?
- 18:30We may or may not do another episode on this, but at least
- 18:34for now, we will leave off with some of these concepts.
- 18:39Yeah, I think I'll just read Ecclesiastes 311.
- 18:43He has made everything beautiful in its time.
- 18:47Also, he has put eternity into man's heart yet so that he
- 18:54cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the
- 18:58end. Yeah, I mean, I guess you guys
- 19:05dig into this a little bit more if this is important to you as
- 19:09it is to me and Pete, dig into it and spend some time with the
- 19:13Lord for that deeper understanding.
- 19:15Because the seasons that are coming and going, the new things
- 19:19that are being birthed, 2026 is not going to look like anything
- 19:23that we may have previously thought.
- 19:27God is always up to his business and that is the cosmic chess
- 19:31match of all of existence. He's doing his biddings and he
- 19:34will have it just his way. Just as mentioned in Esther, if
- 19:39certain people that are called for such a time as this do not
- 19:43rise up, their household will die and he will find another.
- 19:49Let's be the ones who rise up. I think an opportune time is at
- 19:54hand, you guys. And yeah Pete, maybe we will do
- 19:56another mini on time in the future.
- 19:58It is possible. I don't.
- 20:00I think we've. Brought enough intrigue and, you
- 20:04know, we've planted some seeds of deeper understanding, which
- 20:08is necessary in the days that we live in.
- 20:10So let's just see where it goes from there.
- 20:12But it's always an honor to be with you on these episodes,
- 20:15people. Yeah, I appreciate it, Rod.
- 20:18Thanks for being here. Thanks for listening, guys.
- 20:20And do let us know if you want us to explore any of the
- 20:25concepts of time that we've touched on or some aspects that
- 20:29we haven't really dug into yet. Feel free to send Roger myself
- 20:35an e-mail and let us know. Thanks so much guys.
- 20:39Until next time. God bless.
- 20:56Try and trust no more. Stay bright you stay.
- 21:02Light. Stay light you stay.
- 21:05Bright stay. Light you stay.
- 21:08Light you stay. Light you stay.
- 21:14Light. You daylight stay bright is
- 21:17better with you. Daylight you Stay bright.
- 21:23Stay bright is better with you. You.
- 21:27On the shoe. It's better with you.
- 21:38You. If I showed you the scars, would
- 21:41you turn away? If I lowered the wall, would you
- 21:44come and stay? If I open my heart, would you
- 21:48shine your light if I let this thing stop?
- 21:51Pull me. Through the night, Cancel it and
- 21:53Brave Come take a ride with me. Let's take a look at all the
- 21:57things that life was supposed to be.
- 21:59Look me in the eyes. I want to see you light, shine,
- 22:03beauty and passion. Just like it's the first time.
- 22:06Oh my baby, I'm a gentleman at heart.
- 22:10Unless you win the service of my enemy or worker.
- 22:13Rather dark. I speak light words and happy
- 22:16moments. Lighting my eyes, staring back
- 22:19your dark opponent. Lord help me now.
- 22:22You. And you?
- 22:25And stay right is better with you than I ain't you.
- 22:30Hell ain't you then, right. Stay right is better with you.
- 22:36You all. And you?
- 22:40It's better with you. You all and you.
