- 0:44Welcome, Olga.
- 0:45Hello.
- 0:45Thank you so much for having me.
- 0:47Thank you for being here with us today.
- 0:48Thank you so much, studio.
- 0:50Finally, we have been wanting for having happy.
- 0:51What's an honor again?
- 0:53What an yes.
- 0:53We're just this beautiful, glowing face here this morning.
- 0:56Thank you.
- 0:57I know so when I come to see you, I often find myself talking with you the entire treatment.
- 1:01And I know you're like, no, we're, we shouldn't talk.
- 1:04This is your time to relax.
- 1:05'cause I know there's like a method to your madness, how you're supposed to get people into relax their nervous system and get into this good state so everything works.
- 1:12Am always asking, what are you doing next?
- 1:14What's next?
- 1:15What does this do?
- 1:16Because I'm so curious because she has all of curious, she's in the know, right.
- 1:18You are in the know, you know everything.
- 1:20I know.
- 1:21It's very true.
- 1:21Usually I, I catch myself during treatments.
- 1:24People wanna catch up and they wanna share some personal stories and I do too.
- 1:28But truly results are different when you go into that very rested state.
- 1:33And I do my magic in between, so I customize my treatments, but you have to almost be asleep.
- 1:38I always tell my customers that if you fall asleep, it's a compliment to me.
- 1:43And the results are so much more intensified.
- 1:45When you actually disconnect from your daily routine, from your struggles, from your motherhood problems, and then we catch up after.
- 1:52Right.
- 1:53I always have the time ready to catch up afterwards.
- 1:56Okay.
- 1:57I need to make sure that I have the time afterwards Yeah.
- 1:59To catch up because I'm always trying to do three things at once and I guess I'm not getting the best results.
- 2:04And you love the, you love the express well facial.
- 2:07I go in there and I'm like, what could we do for two hours?
- 2:11I'm here to relax, but I have a little secret.
- 2:13I always book the two hours.
- 2:15Even if you book yourself a 45 minutes, me, I do book my two hours for you to catch up.
- 2:21I love that because it really is not a rushed environment at all.
- 2:25And we wanna go into your background.
- 2:28I know your background is impressive, so I remember when we were talking like how this whole started, you were saying that you were like an exhausted mother and you were looking for something and you couldn't find it, so you created it.
- 2:39Very true.
- 2:39So talk to us a little bit about that.
- 2:41Very true.
- 2:41Four hil, four children.
- 2:43I remember myself being in postpartum for very long portion of my life and I, I've been going through postpartum blues and from my second child I was an exhausted nurse.
- 2:52Worked a lot, multiple shifts, and I was looking for treatment that can actually.
- 2:56Sense me and my exhaustion and I wanted to improve my skin quality.
- 3:00I wasn't ready to go to a day spa and have oils on my skin.
- 3:04I wanted a really good treatment that's medical grade, but also someone that knows what to do with their hands and bring me in that deep state so I can go home, I can be a better mom, I can be a better professional, and.
- 3:15I went far and along drove all budgets, treatments of all kinds, and I couldn't find until one day I told myself I will build something that can see through and yes, still deliver a medical grade treatment and improve someone's skin, but also they can go home and just be a better person.
- 3:30I feel like you said that so well because you are like the perfect blend of that.
- 3:34And we have both done facials, we've both done treatments with you so we can vouch for this.
- 3:39Thank you.
- 3:40I totally agree.
- 3:40And we've done them to her point far and wide.
- 3:42Yes.
- 3:42And I feel like to your point you really were getting either or right?
- 3:46Like you were going somewhere to relax.
- 3:48Yes.
- 3:49But it's usually those are not the best facials that actually do something for you.
- 3:54Right.
- 3:54Or you go to a more medical route.
- 3:57Right.
- 3:57But that is not a hint of relaxing, you know?
- 4:00So this is, it's a device.
- 4:01Yes, you blended the two.
- 4:02Yes.
- 4:02It's a medical smell and you do, and the, and the price point of those treatments is very high.
- 4:07And it's usually quick, quick 50 minutes treatment.
- 4:09They have to go, they have a full schedule.
- 4:12And yes, you do see improvement in your skin, but then you go home.
- 4:14I'm like, what did I do?
- 4:16I completely believe that those worlds can be combined.
- 4:19Yes.
- 4:19I think especially for moms too.
- 4:21And I feel like that is why you're like, perfect for this because you're a mother, you know.
- 4:27Like you said, you were looking for something like this because you wanted to go and relax, but then we're also exhausted.
- 4:33We also need a little something going on in our skin to make us look rested.
- 4:37It really is the perfect blend of that.
- 4:39Yeah.
- 4:40So before we get into Owen Skincare, you are also our former Mrs.
- 4:45Connecticut.
- 4:46Talk to us a little bit about the pageant world.
- 4:48Yes, just a bit.
- 4:49Last year out of nowhere, me and my husband just decided to, uh, join the pageantry.
- 4:55We were going through a difficult, stage in our life.
- 4:57One of, one of our family member was ill, so we decided let's bring some joy.
- 5:01Signed up for the pageantry unprepared, but I had the same mission.
- 5:05I met with the judges and I just shared what I truly see..
- 5:08Bringing a change in my community and they aligned and they see so through me and I'm thankful for that today.
- 5:15It's an experience of Lifetime.
- 5:16I know that's once a lifetime for me.
- 5:18Yeah.
- 5:18My children were very excited.
- 5:20My daughter, we had to go to Las Vegas.
- 5:23But just connecting with other women from other states, it's just a memory of lifetime.
- 5:28What were some commonalities that you found between the other misses from the other states?
- 5:33Very involved and for the difference between misses and miss.
- 5:38These are women, mature women, and they know what they do.
- 5:41And they have a mission.
- 5:43They have a career, they have children.
- 5:45I have met all their children in the hotel.
- 5:47And just family values and family love brings them to stage.
- 5:51A lot of life experience.
- 5:52Is what I feel like those are always the best stories, right?
- 5:55Yes.
- 5:55And where you learn the most is through Yes.
- 5:58Actual lived experience.
- 5:59Yes, absolutely.
- 6:00And the feeling of just, I do have that pink again.
- 6:03I do have the spark again.
- 6:05Yeah.
- 6:05And here I am on the stage.
- 6:06I have to put myself together.
- 6:07I can speak about my mission, I can share, I can put two clothes together.
- 6:12It's important.
- 6:13And for your children, as an example, again, I feel that you have to just understand.
- 6:17It doesn't take the whole portion of your life.
- 6:20The pageantry can just be delusional in many cases, but as a one-time experience, it's worth it for every woman.
- 6:27I love that your kids got to experience that with you and see you Yes.
- 6:31Through that.
- 6:32And it was a positive, you know?
- 6:32Yeah, I agree.
- 6:33That's probably so impactful.
- 6:35And they probably won't even realize the impact'cause they're still little, but I bet you that is just gonna be both huge girls and boys.
- 6:43Yeah.
- 6:43I love that.
- 6:44What was your mission that you shared through that platform?
- 6:47Skincare and motherhood skin.
- 6:48You can find skincare and motherhood.
- 6:50Yes, you can find yourself in motherhood through a simple, genuine skincare again.
- 6:56Okay, so then let's talk about that.
- 6:58Let's get into that.
- 6:59Let's get right into that.
- 7:00That's what everybody wants to hear.
- 7:03All right.
- 7:03So we wanna talk to you about something that I think is like weighing on me now.
- 7:09I'm almost 40.
- 7:10Mm-hmm.
- 7:10Same with Christina.
- 7:11And we have mature skin and we have, you know, it's just part of life, you know, it's not good.
- 7:17It's not bad.
- 7:17I still think my skin is good, but it's mature.
- 7:19Mm-hmm.
- 7:20Okay.
- 7:20Something that comes with mature skin is, years of sun exposure.
- 7:24So talk to us a little bit about that.
- 7:26Like what is something that ages our skin the most?
- 7:29Yes.
- 7:30I speak about that on a daily with women, and I feel that first and foremost, women need to accept the aging process.
- 7:37Yeah.
- 7:37It's okay and it's normal and we want to age and we wanna be there.
- 7:41But few factors that actually play a huge difference is.
- 7:44Basic sleep.
- 7:46We need sleep.
- 7:47High quality sleep, movement and movement, that's part of your daily routine movement that doesn't feel heavy and doesn't take too much of your day.
- 7:55So walks any form of movement.
- 7:57And then human connection, just circle connecting with people and just doing well to others.
- 8:04And simple skincare routine.
- 8:07That's time tested.
- 8:08That's not new.
- 8:09It's not trendy.
- 8:10Something that our great, great parents have experienced.
- 8:13And so improvements and it comes to ingredients, few devices, and that's all.
- 8:17Are you kind of like a simpler is better approach?
- 8:20Like less is more.
- 8:21Less is more is more.
- 8:22Absolutely.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:23Less is more.
- 8:24Few good ingredients, few devices here and there, and routine that just goes well with your timing.
- 8:29Do you feel like I, this is something that I've experienced.
- 8:33Every like five-ish years.
- 8:35I feel like I need to kind of revamp my skincare routine.
- 8:39I'm very much into using the same products and creating that system.
- 8:44Right.
- 8:44So that it's kind of like, okay, I know when my skin needs this.
- 8:46Yes.
- 8:46And I kind of listen to it.
- 8:48But then I'm in this right now where I feel like five years ago I was also in this and I have to switch up my products and kind of switch up my approach.
- 8:56'Cause I feel like things just sit on my skin and when I get to that point I'm like, okay, something's not working.
- 9:02It's not jiving anymore.
- 9:03And I am there now.
- 9:04So I did wanna talk to you about that.
- 9:06Is that normal to kind of have to switch it up?
- 9:08Is it maybe'cause of the aging process?
- 9:10So we do not even once in a year, once in a five year increment.
- 9:14Seasonally we need to change ingredients just using few ingredients that truly make the difference from my professional experience, it's.
- 9:21Really good acid formulas.
- 9:22Mm-hmm.
- 9:22Uh, they bring an instant result and instant gratification compared to long-term use of retinoids.
- 9:28Okay.
- 9:28For nighttime.
- 9:29Mm-hmm.
- 9:29To ingredients that play a huge role.
- 9:31And then we play with serums.
- 9:32Serums are the highly concentrated active ingredients that bring the highest amount of change.
- 9:39What is an example of an acid?
- 9:41Lactic acid.
- 9:42Okay.
- 9:42Lovely.
- 9:43Mandelic.
- 9:44Glycolic.
- 9:44Salicylic.
- 9:45Okay.
- 9:45Sometimes it's one acid, sometimes a combination of multiple acids depending on the skin, is that something that you want to switch up depending on what your skin needs?
- 9:54Yes.
- 9:54Is that something that you can have like a little mm-hmm.
- 9:56Kind of library and then say, oh, my skin feels very clogged right now, I'm reaching for this.
- 10:00Yes.
- 10:01Okay.
- 10:01Absolutely.
- 10:02So for example, salicylic acid, for people that have little more cement production, we tend to go towards sali silicon, summertime, and then lactic, very gentle, very wonderful for mature skin and combination of lactic mandelic and glycolic.
- 10:15This is what usually people like a different, a different dosage.
- 10:18Okay.
- 10:18What was the acid that you gave me in the enzymes?
- 10:21Oh, that was an enzyme.
- 10:22It's an acid also, but it's an powder form that get emulsified and you can just rub it specifically on the T-zone.
- 10:29People don't have blackheads anymore, and we, speaking of blackheads, I don't believe in extractions.
- 10:34I extract one when there is a need, but I don't extract everyone because when we use the right acidic formula.
- 10:41There is no blackhead.
- 10:42There's no need of extractions at all.
- 10:44What was the name of that enzyme.
- 10:46Powder.
- 10:47Powder.
- 10:47Yes.
- 10:47From a tear.
- 10:48A tear is lovely.
- 10:49A company that's developed in Zurich, Switzerland and made in Germany.
- 10:53Very.
- 10:54Alright, so acid is like number one.
- 10:56Number one.
- 10:57For daytime.
- 10:58For daytime, I wouldn't combine acid with a retinoid.
- 11:00People quite often do the same mistake.
- 11:02So acid would be morning time and then retinoids.
- 11:06Any form of retinoids would be nighttime.
- 11:08Nighttime.
- 11:08On the same day.
- 11:10On the same day.
- 11:10And all year round.
- 11:12All year round.
- 11:12All year round.
- 11:13Different retinoids, depending on the season and depending How your skin feels, and that instant moment in time, we would customize retinoids.
- 11:20So some people are already accustomed to the medical version of isotretinoin or, threat.
- 11:26Mm-hmm.
- 11:26Everyone knows it as threat.
- 11:27Mm-hmm.
- 11:27It's very strong.
- 11:29It's almost a medicine.
- 11:30So people like alternatives and I help them find the best alternative.
- 11:34What is one that you are constantly reaching for, for your clients?
- 11:38Retinol.
- 11:38A retinol.
- 11:40Okay.
- 11:4012 derivatives of retinoid.
- 11:41Okay.
- 11:42Is there like a certain brand of retinol that you like to use?
- 11:45Yes, I like multiple.
- 11:46So a cure is one of the re a same thing.
- 11:49That one from Switzer, Switzerland.
- 11:50It's one of them.
- 11:50They have won multiple awards in Europe.
- 11:52It's very gentle.
- 11:53People love it.
- 11:54And Enron environ a wonderful company.
- 11:57It's a vitamin A based company.
- 11:59So they have large formulas of all forms of vitamin A and people, once they start, they fell in love.
- 12:05They never feel dry and never feel f flaky.
- 12:07They never feel that their barrier is in impaired.
- 12:09So is that the envir vitamin A?
- 12:11Okay.
- 12:12The sequence.
- 12:12Okay.
- 12:13So it's a step up system.
- 12:15We start slow and we build tolerance.
- 12:17So then talk to us about some serums.
- 12:19'cause is that the next kinda, I wanna kind of go Yeah.
- 12:21We went from morning to night.
- 12:23Yes.
- 12:23What's in between?
- 12:24Yep.
- 12:24Yes.
- 12:25So, quite often I have that, that questions people ask me if I purchase one product, what would that be?
- 12:30Or if I have a budget, what would that be?
- 12:32Um, my best purchase, it's serums again, it's a highly concentrated, active ingredient mm-hmm.
- 12:37That we customize depending, most of the serums.
- 12:40But now everyone loves peptides.
- 12:41Anti-aging serums, wave growth factors.
- 12:44Vitamin C serums for daytime.
- 12:46I personally believe it's an overhyped ingredient, but it's one of the most studied ingredients in the world of dermatology.
- 12:53So vitamin C would be in the morning and just customizing serums for eye, serums for face, serums for neck.
- 12:59And then how about moisturizer?
- 13:01Moisturizers are wonderful.
- 13:02They are occlusive, so they would seal everything in place.
- 13:06Right.
- 13:06Is there anything in between that, so it's, you wanna do your acids then your serums, right?
- 13:11Then your moisturizer?
- 13:12Or is there something in between?
- 13:13Yeah, so the perfect morning routine would be a milky cleanser.
- 13:16Okay.
- 13:16A very gentle, really liquidating cleanser.
- 13:18Mm-hmm.
- 13:18Would be an acid would be a good serum or combo of serums, a moisturizer and a sunscreen that you love.
- 13:24Okay.
- 13:24And another question that I receive quite often is.
- 13:27Good sunscreen.
- 13:28A good sunscreen.
- 13:29It's a sunscreen that you actually will fell in love and are committed to using.
- 13:33It can be medical grade, it can be a drugstore, it's just sunscreen.
- 13:37You do need to protect your skin from the sun, along with really good, nice hairs.
- 13:42And just being conscious and just being, just don't abuse yourself under the sun.
- 13:47And then a good nitro routine would be an enzyme cleanser would be a good serum.
- 13:52We'll skip the acids and it'll be retinoid with a really good occlusive moisturizer on.
- 13:57Okay.
- 13:57To go on the top, like you said, it seals it all in.
- 14:01I like to use Aquaphor on my face at nighttime.
- 14:05I look like a crazy person at nighttime.
- 14:07Maybe like, maybe ski my collar base.
- 14:09If someone with a large SIBO production would be too, it would be like clogging too heavy.
- 14:13Clogging.
- 14:14Yeah.
- 14:14I'm not the expert, I'm just sharing what I'm doing.
- 14:16It's okay.
- 14:17Don't do what I do as long as do what Olga tells you to do.
- 14:20It's okay.
- 14:21That is very, very helpful.
- 14:23So you give us this like luxury experience.
- 14:26These are European techniques.
- 14:28Talk, talk to us about this.
- 14:29Oh, it's a mixture.
- 14:30It's a mixture of techniques and, there's no protocol that will, uh, deliver the best results as a one standalone protocol.
- 14:37And I find mixing them just delivers by just knowing which protocol would benefit which person and which season in life would make, makes the biggest difference.
- 14:47So European techniques, it's lots of manual work.
- 14:50So we always start with manual work, so bringing that person into deep restorative calm state.
- 14:57We work half, so we work half face with mask.
- 14:59We work the other half of the face with mask, so we prepare the skin for the treatment itself.
- 15:04Mm-hmm.
- 15:05Quite often after an hour of.
- 15:07F the facial treatment.
- 15:08I, I tell the person only now we move into the treatment stage and they say, oh.
- 15:13What was it before we were preparing you for the treatment stage?
- 15:16You do so much prep and if, if anybody has not experienced one of Olga's facials, it's very labor intensive on you.
- 15:23It's very labor intensive and it really feels almost like a deep tissue massage for your face.
- 15:29It does.
- 15:29That's like the, that's the best way I can explain it, where it just feels like you're kind of.
- 15:33In every crevice of the face.
- 15:35Yes.
- 15:36We work with kind of fast muscle.
- 15:37Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's soft.
- 15:39So it's just it's really like a mix.
- 15:41But it feels like a workout for your face almost.
- 15:43It is.
- 15:44And we start with slow movements.
- 15:45Mm-hmm.
- 15:45So lymphatic drainage mm-hmm.
- 15:47That, incorporates tage neck, uh, face and scalp quite often.
- 15:51I just open up the headband and I tell people the, the frontalis muscle, it's a huge muscle.
- 15:56It goes all the way into your scalp.
- 15:58And if I can work with it, the lift is unimaginable.
- 16:01Um, just working as a whole, it's not just the face lymphatic drainage.
- 16:05And then we work half face in the other half of the face.
- 16:08We prep the skin, we mask, and once we remove the mask, we move into devices and active ingredients, serums, and we mix the devices.
- 16:16There is not one device that I would always, it's always a mixture of devices.
- 16:20I don't think I've ever been to you and had the same treatment done.
- 16:23I feel like every time we come, we you always switch it up.
- 16:26True.
- 16:26You're like, well, also it's different times of the year too.
- 16:29Right?
- 16:29Very right.
- 16:29Maybe you can sense that I need something different today.
- 16:32Today we're working on, um, like toning and lifting this area this day.
- 16:37You really need good dehydration.
- 16:39Okay.
- 16:39We're working on your sun spots today.
- 16:41Yes.
- 16:41Like you always do something different every time.
- 16:44Yes.
- 16:44It's not just the same.
- 16:46One device and then you're out.
- 16:48No.
- 16:48And usually people quite often reach out to me and they say, which treatment should I book?
- 16:53It's hard for you to know what will benefit.
- 16:55And it's hard for me to know without seeing your skin, what you'll actually benefit the most.
- 17:00And it's a time-based treatment.
- 17:01If you have the time, will customize it.
- 17:03Mm-hmm.
- 17:03When I drive to work, I don't know which treatments I'm going to pick on today.
- 17:07So I have all the tools ready for my customers and we just customize it from there.
- 17:11And you do offer an express one too?
- 17:13Yes.
- 17:13'cause you gets that one done sometimes where it is just a little bit quick.
- 17:16But I do think that if you're trying to invest in yourself, this the way to go is just to go all in on it.
- 17:24Yes.
- 17:24And get the full, full experience.
- 17:26Yes.
- 17:26Because I do think it is just so helpful.
- 17:28I wanna talk about injectables because that is such a hot topic.
- 17:33And used to do that.
- 17:34Yes.
- 17:34So you can speak to both sides of it.
- 17:36Do you, you still offer them?
- 17:38No, I don't at this point.
- 17:39No.
- 17:39I used to And um.
- 17:4213 years in, in my nursing career, I was exposed to medical dermatology, invasive and noninvasive medical aesthetics, injectables and laser devices.
- 17:50Mm-hmm.
- 17:50They do each injectable and each device has, its own, need.
- 17:54So for example, injectables are there to paralyze a muscle and the muscle doesn't move any longer, therefore, doesn't cause a crease and a wrinkle.
- 18:01However, skincare altogether is the foundation.
- 18:05So injectables and good skincare goes hand in hand.
- 18:09Right.
- 18:09I know that you're not anti injectables.
- 18:11No, I'm not.
- 18:12Right.
- 18:12What you have told me is just that you can get a lot more kind of going the other way, right?
- 18:17Like if you're can can postpone.
- 18:18You can postpone.
- 18:19Yes.
- 18:19Right?
- 18:19Sure.
- 18:20You can postpone and I quite often, or maybe even compliment.
- 18:23Even compliment and I always tell people, I'll guide you.
- 18:26I will genuinely guide you on devices and injectables when the need is.
- 18:30Sometimes I work on the frontalis and I see the muscle just doesn't stop moving.
- 18:35It's, it's a genetic movement and I'm there pressing and I would just tell the person, you need to inject it.
- 18:40It's over functioning.
- 18:42So what I'm finding, so we're, I'm almost 40, I've been getting Botox for about a decade at this point.
- 18:49Obviously I know some of it's just aging.
- 18:52But I used to find that I could do Botox like once a year, and then I would start to have some movement.
- 18:59And now I'm finding that I feel like I can't even make it like two months before it feels like it's not working or I feel like it's something that I have to constantly keep up with and it's kind of going against what I wanna do with my body.
- 19:12So talk to us about that.
- 19:15Is that that too, or are you seeing that with some of your clients that are around our same age?
- 19:19I see.
- 19:20Yes.
- 19:20I see that a lot.
- 19:21People get addicted and they, and sometimes the neurotoxin doesn't perform as well.
- 19:25Yeah.
- 19:25As it used to be.
- 19:27They like to switch up the neurotoxin, or I quite often just.
- 19:31Genuinely recommend to go for facial treatments and use other devices.
- 19:35I like the Microcurrent.
- 19:37Mm-hmm.
- 19:37Does wonderful work.
- 19:38Is that the one that we did with the gloves?
- 19:40I posted this on my Instagram, I think I was like too nervous the first time when you did it.
- 19:44That's okay.
- 19:44Because I didn't know, like I thought I was getting shocked and Olga, no sweetie, you're not like it's, you're okay.
- 19:51And it was like, I feel like I'm getting shocked.
- 19:54She was like, just, she's like, stop moving.
- 19:58I'm going to make it so your forehead won't move for three months.
- 20:01That's amazing.
- 20:02But she put on these gloves and she connected it to the microcurrent and then she like worked the muscles and I truly could not move my forehead.
- 20:12For weeks.
- 20:13That's wild.
- 20:14And I did, I have Botox in here, but even with Botox, there's movement because I do like some movement.
- 20:19So yes, I do too.
- 20:20Cheryl does my Botox, so I guess now it's Dysport.
- 20:23She does it.
- 20:23Very light.
- 20:24Yep.
- 20:24Mm-hmm.
- 20:25Um, but this.
- 20:26Was such a nice compliment to that.
- 20:29And even sometimes, so let's say the muscle is paralyzed for a long period of time.
- 20:32Mm-hmm.
- 20:33It's good to go in there and wake them up Right.
- 20:35And bring circulation back.
- 20:36Oh, interesting.
- 20:37Ing and that doesn't interfere with the results.
- 20:40But this wonders to the muscle itself because the muscle is made to move.
- 20:43So you're giving, you're giving it a little bit of a break.
- 20:45Yes.
- 20:45Right.
- 20:46And kind of like helping it rework itself.
- 20:48Right.
- 20:48And then, then you can go back and get another injectable at another time.
- 20:51Yeah.
- 20:51I mean, it doesn't interfere with the timing of the injectable.
- 20:53It's there.
- 20:54But it does wonders too, the muscle and the health that's underneath our skin.
- 20:57That's really interesting.
- 20:58Wow.
- 20:59What about like facial, any type of like facial contouring?
- 21:02'cause you see like a lot of devices out there that'll make like your jaw line.
- 21:07Mm-hmm.
- 21:07More snatched or like pulled back or like tightening.
- 21:11What?
- 21:11I would be slightly reserved in terms of energy devices.
- 21:14Mm.
- 21:14They have caused so much damage.
- 21:16The jaw line and the double chin.
- 21:18Maybe it's okay risking, but those energy devices tend to melt, simply say.
- 21:23Melt facial fat.
- 21:25Mm.
- 21:25And facial fat is gold.
- 21:26We don't want to melt our apples of the chicks.
- 21:30We don't wanna melt under eye area because it's irreversible and there is no filler that can actually mimic our natural facial fat.
- 21:37Wow.
- 21:38Okay.
- 21:38I would be cautious.
- 21:39That's very, very good to know.
- 21:40Yes, I would be cautious.
- 21:41I would do my research.
- 21:42The jawline.
- 21:43It's okay.
- 21:43Even if we mo lose a little bit of fat, that's fine.
- 21:46But not temples and eye area.
- 21:48Okay.
- 21:48So what about then the opposite of that?
- 21:51What would be a treatment that would mimic what like filler would look like?
- 21:56Anything like with collagen, plump, right.
- 21:58That that would plump, yes.
- 21:59So simply lifting and sculpting and working with fascia to release tension by hand.
- 22:04Mm-hmm.
- 22:04Mm-hmm.
- 22:04And then microneedling gold, old classic microneedling.
- 22:08I cannot speak enough about it.
- 22:10It's an again.
- 22:10Time tested.
- 22:11Old treatment.
- 22:12I've never tried.
- 22:12I've never done that before.
- 22:13Have you?
- 22:14Yeah.
- 22:14'cause I've done PRP and that, so that's, it does work together with plasma.
- 22:18So talk to us about microneedling and then book me for it.
- 22:21Yes, for sure.
- 22:21For tomorrow, microneedling is one of the most time tested old classic treatment that works.
- 22:27So it's micro injuries.
- 22:28We customize the injury to your skin and through healing your skin will create its own collagen and become thicker over time.
- 22:35It's the golden standard for face, neck, for the area above the lip for eye area.
- 22:40From my per professional experience, because all these people can see my eye area feels creep and yeah.
- 22:45And it's not much you can do other than a good retinoid, a good serum, and that's all.
- 22:50And microneedling.
- 22:51So I customize the depth of the needle penetration and we can make it.
- 22:56Deeper, we can make it very light.
- 22:58Wonderful.
- 22:58It's only one day of downtime.
- 22:59It's very doable.
- 23:00People love it.
- 23:01Do you feel like the plasma, the PRP is necessary component of that?
- 23:05Or do you think it's just worthwhile to just do micro needle?
- 23:07That's when you take the blood.
- 23:09That's when you take the blood.
- 23:10Mm-hmm.
- 23:10We spin the blood and then we extract the plasma.
- 23:13Right.
- 23:13It does help with healing.
- 23:14With healing micro.
- 23:16And you do that too?
- 23:16I don't, because from my professional experience healing, it's not too bad.
- 23:20Okay.
- 23:20It doesn't enhance results.
- 23:22But healing overall is 24 hours and really good serum goes home with you.
- 23:27Very doable.
- 23:28Okay.
- 23:28So just kind of taking care of yourself.
- 23:29Mm-hmm.
- 23:29You can kind of gist yourself back on track and you don't need, I, one day of downtime is of too much anyway, so less than 24 hours.
- 23:35Okay.
- 23:35Now that's very good to know.
- 23:36How often can you do that?
- 23:39So depending on the depth of the penetration, usually it's free treatment.
- 23:42Mm-hmm.
- 23:43Per season.
- 23:43But I have met people that.
- 23:45Do it on a monthly basis, like ongoing.
- 23:46Very gently.
- 23:47Wow.
- 23:48Wonderful.
- 23:48I have met people, mature, mature ladies that have wonderful skin and many of them own other spas and sometimes I like to ask them the same questions from everything you've seen.
- 23:59Mm-hmm.
- 23:59What do you think performs the the most?
- 24:01And it's always microneedling.
- 24:03Wow.
- 24:03Even without serums, and this is something like you said, goes way, way back.
- 24:06This is not like new cutting edge technology.
- 24:09Not trendy.
- 24:09Right.
- 24:10This is a tried and true technique, right.
- 24:12It's very old, okay, we need to try this.
- 24:15Yes.
- 24:15I feel that my needling is very close to laser technology does the same thing.
- 24:19We cause micro injuries and through the injury he skin heals and just becomes better.
- 24:25Yeah.
- 24:25And when you're doing like filler injections, you're looking for that like plumper look.
- 24:30So if you do this over time, it will build collagen, which will give that to you on it own and it's very naturally I love that.
- 24:36You mentioned lasers, and I feel like lasers are another, I don't maybe wanna say trendy, but I feel like there's some of these lasers that the downtime just seems crazy.
- 24:46Like, I mean, people are Yes.
- 24:48The downtime down for the count for a week.
- 24:50Right.
- 24:50It right.
- 24:52I'm sure not all lasers are created equally either, right?
- 24:55That's right.
- 24:55I'm sure that's true too.
- 24:56Lasers do wonders.
- 24:57Mm-hmm.
- 24:58Um, so I'll go back to chemical peel.
- 25:00Chemical peel.
- 25:01Again, it's another old treatment that's time tested.
- 25:04Everyone loves it.
- 25:04Dermatologist, aesthetician, nurses and chemical peel are light and they're deep and they go on texture and pigment.
- 25:12And if chemical pills or series of chemical pills didn't help someone for pigment penetration, this is when we move into lasers.
- 25:21This is one I would look into laser.
- 25:22Oh, okay.
- 25:23I wouldn't do a laser before a really good chemical peel.
- 25:25Interesting.
- 25:25Okay.
- 25:26That's And how often can you do chemical peels?
- 25:29Depending if it's a light one, you can do as soon as every two weeks.
- 25:32It's a light and gentle exfoliating chemical peel or medium depth peel.
- 25:36I would do once a season or some skin types once a year.
- 25:39Okay.
- 25:39What was the one that you did on me and Christina most recently?
- 25:42Yes.
- 25:42Was a gentle one.
- 25:43Was it more gentle one?
- 25:44Yes.
- 25:44The medium one makes your skin peel for about seven days.
- 25:47Okay.
- 25:48Or more.
- 25:49Okay.
- 25:49Depending on the formula.
- 25:50So say that we have to move into lasers.
- 25:52Do you offer lasers?
- 25:54Not yet, but I'm looking to, okay.
- 25:55Gentle, uh, laser facials.
- 25:57Mm-hmm.
- 25:58Uh, lasers that again, do not take much of your downtime.
- 26:01Lasers that go well with your schedule.
- 26:02And light lasers, again, working on pigment and texture.
- 26:06Similar to microneedling, I just would like to target a little more pigment.
- 26:09Mm-hmm.
- 26:10That microneedling is not able to.
- 26:11And everyone has some form of sun damage.
- 26:13So when I think about sun damage, I think like, okay, so you're gonna do a laser and you're gonna have this like beautiful baby skin underneath what?
- 26:24It's happened to me before.
- 26:25I've done lasers.
- 26:26It gets hot out, my face hits the sun.
- 26:29Oh, it's back.
- 26:29Right.
- 26:29And everything is back, but back.
- 26:31Way worse.
- 26:32So what do you do in that case to prevent that from happening again, please?
- 26:36So, SPF would be one of the most important item and then a good exfoliating acid to keep it at bay because your skin is a baby skin, it's raw after the laser, so you need to take extra steps to care for, it's all coming back to just having the most consistent skincare routine It does, which is, is the first thing she wrote here.
- 26:54Yes.
- 26:54And like, bold put it like bold highlighted, like consistency.
- 26:58Yeah.
- 26:59Keeping you right, like knowing what works for your skin and then keeping consistent with that, right?
- 27:04Yes.
- 27:04But I think that's really refreshing to hear because I feel like, especially with social media, I'm sure you see you're in this like aesthetician world, I'm sure your algorithm is flooded with all of the, you know, new and improved types of, devices and treatments and all of that.
- 27:21And, and it could feel very overwhelming, especially as you're aging and you don't even know what to look for or what to ask for or what to do.
- 27:28Mm-hmm.
- 27:29And so I think that this.
- 27:32Reframe of keeping things simple, simple.
- 27:34And going back to the basics is so refreshing to hear in a world that just feels so overwhelming.
- 27:40It's very world overwhelming and the market is oversaturated.
- 27:44And I always tell my customers, and I've seen it from my professional standpoint, 80% of success, it's a home, ah, 80% of success happens at home.
- 27:53Mm-hmm.
- 27:53And 20% is treatments.
- 27:55I have met so many wonderful ladies that have very, they're very disciplined and they're strict home care regimens.
- 28:01Mm-hmm.
- 28:02And they come and the skin is wonderful and they are thinking about the device only out of curiosity.
- 28:08Like, don't need many enhance, maybe they don't need the device, but they might wanna try, but their skin is wonderful.
- 28:13Wow.
- 28:13Mature, mature, mature ladies.
- 28:15If you have somebody coming to you, I, like one of your girlfriends or one of your clients is saying, you, I always guide that I have a lower budget.
- 28:23I have a drugstore budget.
- 28:24Yes.
- 28:24Help guide me to find, yes.
- 28:26An enzyme, a serum.
- 28:28I do.
- 28:28Where would, is there anything that you could share with our listeners like that you like off?
- 28:33No, this is exactly what happened when my menu was changed.
- 28:37That's why I have multiple lines, high and lows, and I pick and choose, not the line, but actual the products.
- 28:43Oh, the products from the line that actually are really, really nice.
- 28:46And for the same reason, because I've met people of multiple budgets.
- 28:49Do we have any brands that you can share that you kind of like, or any products Just a few that yes, are like lower budget.
- 28:57Is clinical wonderful environment.
- 29:00It's my love.
- 29:00It's a very, uh, affordable line that does wonders for skin, face reality for their young skin.
- 29:06The V is another line, and then we'll move up if need be.
- 29:10What is like the step up?
- 29:11What are some lines from like the mid grade, mid?
- 29:14There is no mid grade.
- 29:15Maybe like mid Mid budget.
- 29:17Mid budget.
- 29:18Yeah.
- 29:18It's always the French line.
- 29:20They're the, this is my mother and the foundation of them all.
- 29:23So biological a chair and, okay.
- 29:26So French lines, German and Swiss.
- 29:29I always tell like my customers, if you're looking to stay where you are with your skin, that's fine.
- 29:34Laroche Poe will, will do wonders, will maintain, but will not bring a change.
- 29:39Okay.
- 29:40When it comes to skincare.
- 29:41Okay.
- 29:41So really these products are, you're looking to change and improve?
- 29:45Yes.
- 29:46Yeah.
- 29:46It won't bring a change.
- 29:47What I also love about you is you combine facial treatments with body treatments Yeah.
- 29:52With simultaneously, which is incredible, but why is that important to you?
- 29:56So most of my treatments are 60 minutes plus, and I've realized that people get tired.
- 30:01Their body hurts to stay in the same position for a long time, and I have dreamed and I found a massage therapist that can work from the tippy toes up to your scalp while I do my work and I work on your facial.
- 30:14You guys are like dancing around each other kind of, yeah.
- 30:16Yeah.
- 30:17So we work That's incredible.
- 30:17Four hands, we, we call it in four hands.
- 30:20It does wonders.
- 30:21It's, I think it's one of the most desired gift certificate in my case.
- 30:25Mm-hmm.
- 30:25People gift it a lot for their mothers, for their daughters wives.
- 30:29And then it's just a complete reset.
- 30:31I make, during my consultation, we decide on the facial treatment we are going to, perform on the customer and then she comes and she does her magic.

- 31:28This, what is it?
- 31:30Alite and it's one of, it's one of the I tools, Alite facial.
- 31:33Oh.
- 31:33So it's a tool?
- 31:34It's a tool part of a, a part of the red carpet facial every time when I see, um, my lovely customers, I pretend they go to a wedding.
- 31:42I pretend she's a bride, so she needs to leave out of that office.
- 31:47Beautiful, lifted and glowy and fresh and ionic, salate.
- 31:51It's one of the tools I use in combination with the lines with other devices, but it's very pleasant.
- 31:56It's oxygenating your skin.
- 31:58It's lifting.
- 31:59From the gentlest lymphatic, drainage to gentle exfoliation.
- 32:02It's a wonderful tool that I have not seen.
- 32:05I haven't seen it in the state of Connecticut.
- 32:07What does that like add to the.
- 32:09Treatment.
- 32:09Is it like a long treatment?
- 32:11It's the same 60, 90 minutes.
- 32:13It's customized.
- 32:14Sometimes I would use the whole device, sometimes I use just few functions of the device.
- 32:18Few modalities to enhance what hands cannot do.
- 32:22I feel like there's just so many beauty, buzzy things and we talked about just the algorithm just being flooded with all the latest and greatest skincare and there's just all of these things floating around.
- 32:35I wanna do a rapid fire segment where we ask you some of these things and you can just say it's do they work?
- 32:41Okay.
- 32:42Yes.
- 32:42No.
- 32:43Maybe, and you can give us a little spiel if, if it's necessary, but red light therapy masks at home.
- 32:50Yes.
- 32:50If consistent.
- 32:51If consistent.
- 32:52There's that word again, if consistent.
- 32:54Okay.
- 32:54I love that.
- 32:55What about face taping at night again?
- 32:58Yes.
- 32:58If consistent.
- 32:59Wow.
- 33:00Some areas frontal is, for example, so your forehead.
- 33:03Okay.
- 33:03So that that could work.
- 33:05Yes.
- 33:05Overnight.
- 33:05Wow.
- 33:06Okay.
- 33:06I love that.
- 33:07Yeah.
- 33:07Women love things that work overnight.
- 33:09Myself too.
- 33:10I do.
- 33:10We're busy moms.
- 33:11Yep.
- 33:11If I can do something and sleep, I am for it.
- 33:14That's why I go to bed looking like a crazy person because I'm trying to do all the things that we all do.
- 33:19And I have multiple serums actually that work overnight.
- 33:22Okay.
- 33:22I know if I miss a night for whatever reason, or like if we have like a late night out and I fall asleep, like with my makeup on, I'm like, I wasted a whole day.
- 33:30Oh my goodness.
- 33:32So true.
- 33:32What about gua and lymphatic drainage at home, if done correctly.
- 33:38That's why I created the master classes and I teach people how to incorporate ingredients and how to actually manipulate their tissue.
- 33:44We're gonna get back to that with the master classes in a minute.
- 33:47I know.
- 33:47Oh, that's really interesting.
- 33:49I feel like I need to learn the proper technique to know how to gua at home because I, well, we're gonna go to one of these classes.
- 33:54Women.
- 33:54Women love it.
- 33:55Okay.
- 33:55And then we'll report back PPAs.
- 33:58Okay.
- 33:58What about ice Rolling.
- 34:00Oh yes.
- 34:01Cryo everything cold.
- 34:02Okay.
- 34:02Do you have a ice roller that you like to use?
- 34:04I actually use a device called G Glassier.
- 34:07It's a cryo facial, and I work a lot with cold.
- 34:10If probably you've been in my room.
- 34:11Yeah.
- 34:11You've seen I don't work with, steamers and hot.
- 34:14Right, right.
- 34:15Everything that's cold and cooling.
- 34:16It's anti-inflammatory.
- 34:17It's anti-aging.
- 34:18Okay.
- 34:18And the device glassier, it's precise cooling device.
- 34:21You've tried it once.
- 34:22Mm-hmm.
- 34:22Mm-hmm.
- 34:22I love that.
- 34:23Cool, cool.
- 34:24I, it works actually on pigment inhibiting.
- 34:25Is that something that you can do at home too?
- 34:27Yes.
- 34:28If you, yes.
- 34:28Eye rollers.
- 34:29Yes.
- 34:29You keep them ins.
- 34:30Okay.
- 34:31Of course.
- 34:31Great.
- 34:32Okay.
- 34:32Okay.
- 34:33Collagen powders.
- 34:35Maybe.
- 34:36Maybe like the joints, but not for your skin.
- 34:38Yeah.
- 34:39Interesting.
- 34:40That's good.
- 34:40Well, no, because a lot of these things are geared towards hair, skin, and beauty, and people think, if they put scoops of collagen powder in their, I think the gastric juice from our stomach will just break it down.
- 34:51It doesn't necessarily reach our skin.
- 34:53Interesting.
- 34:53Maybe joints.
- 34:54Okay.
- 34:54Maybe joints.
- 34:55Okay.
- 34:56What about microcurrent devices at home?
- 34:58Again, if consistent.
- 34:59Okay.
- 35:0020 minutes every day.
- 35:01It's a long, it's a commitment.
- 35:03That is, that is a little bit, it's a, that's lengthy a day with the mask.
- 35:05I see it, uh, happening more often because women do something else while wearing the mask.
- 35:09Yes.
- 35:10That's, well that's why I love that.
- 35:11That's why I love my red light mask is that I can actually do something else while I'm doing it.
- 35:15Yes.
- 35:15But I do feel like if, to just have to stand there, that's why I get a little bit worried about the gua because it's like such, it's so many steps.
- 35:23Same.
- 35:23And I start to like, let it go.
- 35:26Like I have other things to do and then it's the last thing that I wanna do.
- 35:29Yes.
- 35:29And so I sometimes I feel like, kind of started us off by saying that in order for her treatments to be really effective, you have to get your body in this like, calm state.
- 35:36Mm-hmm.
- 35:37So some of these things, if you're wearing a mask while you're driving your kids to school, like is, is it even gonna work?
- 35:43True.
- 35:43Or is it gonna work at it?
- 35:45Or is it going to work at its best potential?
- 35:47Like some things I think like maybe it's just best for that room.
- 35:52Yeah.
- 35:52You know?
- 35:52Because I'm not relaxed when I'm home.
- 35:54Well, could you work, could red light therapy?
- 35:56I, what do you think?
- 35:57Usually I'm not doing anything that's like stressful.
- 35:59I'm usually like watching TV or trying, you know, feeding scroll on my phone.
- 36:02In a relaxed state.
- 36:04Yes.
- 36:04I am kind of in a chill state.
- 36:05Yeah.
- 36:05But what about, I'm assuming we're gonna know this answer, but medical grade skincare.
- 36:10Of course.
- 36:10Of course.
- 36:10Course, of course.
- 36:11Mm-hmm.
- 36:12Laser facials.
- 36:13Yes.
- 36:14You answered that.
- 36:15Okay.
- 36:15Gentle, we talked about this, the radio frequency microneedling.
- 36:20Yes, I have a personal story that goes back to radio frequency microneedling.
- 36:24In my twenties.
- 36:24I just went to a random spa.
- 36:26I was curious to try because somewhere again, I've heard online someone sweared by radio frequency microneedling.
- 36:33I had no need.
- 36:34And what it did, it melted my fat around my eyes and it caused wrinkles that never existed.
- 36:39What's been there?
- 36:40Oh wow.
- 36:41It's irreversible.
- 36:42One treatment caused me a loss of facial pad and since then I, I urge people that just be cautious.
- 36:50Just be cautious.
- 36:51So how did you reverse it back because you appeared?
- 36:53I haven't, I just learned to love my wrinkles.
- 36:55Oh, I can't eye wrinkles.
- 36:57Well, I can't see them from here.
- 36:58It's, I think that's actually really interesting and I know a lot of our listeners are in their thirties, forties, fifties, but I'm sure we have listeners in our twenties and then I'm sure we even have moms of teenage daughters who will eventually be in their twenties.
- 37:11And so I do think that that's a very important kind of.
- 37:16I don't wanna say like scare tactic, but, but just like I think sometimes back to like less is more again, back less is more.
- 37:23And I think skincare for kids and teenagers is just so buzzy right now.
- 37:28And I think it can probably get a little bit too, too aggressive.
- 37:30I have this for a popup shop right across the hall and my daughter's room, and they were getting things and I was like.
- 37:36This is gonna burn your skin.
- 37:38Like you don't need this.
- 37:39This is gonna burn your skin.
- 37:40You can't use this.
- 37:41And I actually let them use it and I let them burn their skin.
- 37:44I was like, they need to know because they're curious.
- 37:46Just like you were curious in your twenties.
- 37:48My right.
- 37:48It's like live and learn.
- 37:49They're curious.
- 37:50So sometimes you have to kind of almost let them make a mistake.
- 37:52But I try to have my message be like, all of this stuff is to enhance how pretty you are.
- 37:57You know, like we're not trying to like erase these wrinkles completely.
- 38:01Enhance, have a story.
- 38:02Every wrinkle has a story.
- 38:03And back to sun damage and back to dermatology.
- 38:06We used to say in medical dermatology, the skin never forgets where it has been.
- 38:10Mm.
- 38:10And childhood sunburns come up later in life.
- 38:12Mm-hmm.
- 38:13So as parents, we have full responsibility on caring for their skin.
- 38:17Okay.
- 38:17So then there you go.
- 38:18Yeah.
- 38:18So then SPF for your kids children should be like a non-negotiable.
- 38:21It should.
- 38:22Non-negotiable.
- 38:22Okay.
- 38:22So then.
- 38:23This is kind of very tied into what we were talking about, but this preventative Botox in your twenties, what do you think about that?
- 38:29It used to be trendy.
- 38:29Not anymore.
- 38:30Not anymore.
- 38:31So do you think it's necessary, or no?
- 38:33No, it's not necessary.
- 38:34So are you better off with a good skincare routine as a 20-year-old?
- 38:36I would do, if I was you, I would do Botox once a year.
- 38:39Okay.
- 38:39So I would paralyze a muscle and let it work.
- 38:41Again.
- 38:41Okay.
- 38:41I would Petly it and then let it work.
- 38:44In your twenties?
- 38:45No, in my thirties.
- 38:45In your In your thirties.
- 38:46Yes.
- 38:47So what do you say to somebody in their twenties?
- 38:49Absolutely not.
- 38:50Absolutely not.
- 38:50Okay.
- 38:51That's very, just have like a good facial routine here and there.
- 38:54Good skincare routine.
- 38:55Yes.
- 38:55So deserve your barrier.
- 38:56There you go.
- 38:56Girls, there is no need.
- 38:58I think that Botox for the first time at 31 I was 30.
- 39:02Yes.
- 39:02I was 30, I think at 31.
- 39:04Like really maybe a touch deep 11 here and here.
- 39:06Well,'cause they call, they say it as like preventative.
- 39:09So this is meaning before you have those things.
- 39:11Like I remember being in my twenties and I didn't have the lines on my face.
- 39:15I didn't get those until I was probably in my late twenties, early thirties where yes, if I was moving my face, I had, I had yes lines, but it what?
- 39:22They weren't there right.
- 39:23Until I was in my thirties.
- 39:25So I think this preventative thing is like for what?
- 39:28You know why?
- 39:29Right?
- 39:29Because I had like deep lines at rest and once I had the deep elevens at rest I was like, oh, I think it's time.
- 39:36It's time.
- 39:36Yes.
- 39:36So I remember I went to Dr.
- 39:37Schreiber in Bloomfield who was like an older plastic surgeon who was like super conservative with yes.
- 39:43Injectables.
- 39:44And.
- 39:45He had said to me like, this is not like a big deal.
- 39:48We'll put a little here and over the course of like the next year they'll soften.
- 39:52But like, you wanna be able to scrunch your nose and move your face.
- 39:55Right.
- 39:56And I respected the fact that like, he was my first sort of like, conservative experience going and getting it done.
- 40:01Yeah.
- 40:02And I don't have the many more.
- 40:04So I don't know if I would've needed preventative in my twenties, but it's fuzzy.
- 40:07It's out there, so, right.
- 40:08Yeah.
- 40:09But I'm just speaking from personal experience.
- 40:10I totally agree with you.
- 40:11Yep.
- 40:12I totally agree with you.
- 40:13What about peptides?
- 40:15Because that's super, I feel like that you're seeing that everywhere.
- 40:18Everybody, everyone's inject.
- 40:19I just listened to a whole podcast about PO peptides yesterday and how they're not FDA regulated right now.
- 40:26They're not.
- 40:26They're, they're busy.
- 40:28They're everywhere, but they're not regulated by the F fda, so you don't really know what you're getting.
- 40:33I would only do serums with good peptides.
- 40:36Okay.
- 40:36That's all.
- 40:36I wouldn't inject.
- 40:38Ingest.
- 40:38Okay.
- 40:39That's why we have proteins for amino acids.
- 40:42Okay.
- 40:42I would stay in there.
- 40:43Okay.
- 40:43Okay.
- 40:43That's good to know.
- 40:45Alright, so how about retinoids versus retinol?
- 40:49Retinoids?
- 40:49So retinol is a form of retinoid.
- 40:51So retinoid is the whole group.
- 40:53Okay.
- 40:53And they have different derivatives of retinol, retinol, retinol, retinoid and iso retinoid.
- 40:59That's the pill version for someone with cystic acne.
- 41:03It's just from consistency, again, coming back to retinoids, consistency beats formula.
- 41:09So consistency, a lower dose.
- 41:11Brings a more change than a higher dose.
- 41:14Okay.
- 41:14So every day retinol, it's better than once a week strong retinol.
- 41:18Interesting.
- 41:18That could bring an example.
- 41:19Yeah.
- 41:20No, that's a great example.
- 41:21That's really helpful.
- 41:22What should Christina and I be using for a retinoid tonight before we go to bed?
- 41:25The environment night environment.
- 41:27The environment night.
- 41:28We need to, I don't have that off together from you.
- 41:30Yeah.
- 41:31Yeah.
- 41:31Um, okay.
- 41:32Chemical peels.
- 41:34Yes.
- 41:34Lovely love.
- 41:35Lovely.
- 41:35Okay.
- 41:35They bring so much change.
- 41:37People love it.
- 41:37Dermatologists love it.
- 41:38We love it as professionals.
- 41:40Light and medium again depth of chemical peels.
- 41:43What they do is very remove a layer.
- 41:45Of the, your skin and light pills do it gently without visible changes.
- 41:50And medium depth pills make you just hide for about seven days from sun, from public, um, because your skin would just fall and you have to slightly cut the axis.
- 42:00That gives me, that always reminds me of Samantha, but in the But bigger change.
- 42:04It's a bigger change.
- 42:05Yeah.
- 42:05It's bright, it's luminous.
- 42:06Right.
- 42:06It's beautiful.
- 42:07So, so you would say that that's worth the downtime?
- 42:09It's worth the downtime.
- 42:10Okay.
- 42:10Once the season, so now it's the season.
- 42:12Once the season.
- 42:12Now it's the season.
- 42:13So you have to go away, you have to hide in your house for four weeks a year.
- 42:16We wear a little mask or we do, but we do have to hide.
- 42:19I just.
- 42:20I have such a fear of like, scarring my children.
- 42:22Like I I, I get the visual of, I get the visual of Samantha Jones in sex in the city with the chemical feel where she's like, can you separate feel?
- 42:31And my publicist like, that's how I feel.
- 42:33I'm so afraid to like, have my face peel off in my house and my kids are gonna be like, what are you doing?
- 42:39And know was the snake walking around?
- 42:40What about, you answered this before, but vitamin C.
- 42:43Yes.
- 42:44You said it was ki you kind of said it was like a little like, eh, it's one of the most o most studied ingredient, right.
- 42:49In dermatology.
- 42:50It's an antiox.
- 42:51It's a good thing.
- 42:52It's a good thing.
- 42:52But there are many other things that are not as studied and have seen them perform just as well.
- 42:57Oh, okay.
- 42:57That's it.
- 42:58And then derma planning, do you offer that?
- 43:01I have love and hated relationship with der derma planning.
- 43:04Yes.
- 43:04So at home derma planning?
- 43:05No, for sure.
- 43:07An office by someone with a sterile scalpel.
- 43:09Mm-hmm.
- 43:09Yes.
- 43:10For the right.
- 43:11For the right patient.
- 43:13People overdo it.
- 43:14People run into skin sensitivities and then they just remove their own skin barrier when there's no need.
- 43:21Okay.
- 43:22That's very interesting.
- 43:23And I also feel like there is a little bit of a difference between at-home derma planning and then in a treatment sort, like a, in treatment treatment sort of derm dermaplaning.
- 43:33I feel like when I derma plan at home, it really is to remove the peach fuzz and not to like remove the layer of the skin.
- 43:40I feel like when you do it as a treatment True.
- 43:43It really, it's more of an exfoliation.
- 43:45True.
- 43:46And I feel like at home it's just to sort of like smooth out the face.
- 43:48Yes.
- 43:49And like have ev your makeup go on smoother.
- 43:51I think that there's a little bit, like, I don't even know if they should be called the same thing.
- 43:54'cause I feel like dermaplaning is like in intense, it's a instead scalpel.
- 43:57It's a, it's a spel scalpel and it's definitely deep.
- 44:00And people often, if it's just done unproperly, they break out.
- 44:04Right.
- 44:05And, and it takes time to rebuild that barrier.
- 44:07Okay.
- 44:08So I think the ones at home are like, so this like you using your husband's razor in the shower, that's not, well I even have the, I have the electric one, but it really just takes off.
- 44:15It's not like really touching your skin.
- 44:18It's just kind of like peach fuzz.
- 44:19Yes.
- 44:19It's taking off the peach fuzz peach Fs, which I do believe in that.
- 44:22'cause I feel like that helps with, it does skincare, ab absorption sounds.
- 44:25So we have two, so we have at home.
- 44:27Yeah.
- 44:27You like I don't, you don't, you don't like the one at home either.
- 44:32Okay.
- 44:32No, I, I mean because you have good skin and you don't have your barrier is strong, but someone with occasional pimples, if they do that at home, they just, they would break out even more.
- 44:41Oh, okay.
- 44:42Too risky.
- 44:42It sounds like some of these things you worry that they could call it damage much.
- 44:46Yes.
- 44:47Sure.
- 44:47Interesting.
- 44:48Right.
- 44:48Okay.
- 44:48So we're gonna end with what makes the biggest difference that most women are ignoring.
- 44:54Just loving themself as they are.
- 44:56And just not to being too harsh on themself.
- 44:59And again, less is more.
- 45:00Less is more.
- 45:01I think that is I love it.
- 45:03You, that's the message built something that gives women access to the highest level of skincare.
- 45:08And you are right here in West Hartford, Connecticut.
- 45:10Thank you.
- 45:10How lucky are we to have you here?
- 45:12Thank you.
- 45:13And also like, thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of our listeners.
- 45:17Thank you.
- 45:17It's very genuine.
- 45:18And thank you.
- 45:19Okay, so we can't let you out of the seat without our closing segment, which is our pink spotlight.
- 45:25It's our person, place thing, tip, mantra, anything that's making life a little bit better this week for t and i or anything that you wanna share.
- 45:33Do you wanna go first or do you want us to go first?
- 45:35Maybe you go first.
- 45:36Okay.
- 45:36T, do you have one this week?
- 45:39You better?
- 45:39I do.
- 45:40I, I do.
- 45:41So I make banana bread for my kids every morning.
- 45:44I can vouch for this.
- 45:45I make a banana bread every day.
- 45:46Yeah.
- 45:46And I always like change it up.
- 45:48Like sometimes I do it with like oats and almond flour.
- 45:51Yeah.
- 45:51Sometimes I just do it with like bananas and peanut butter.
- 45:54Sometimes I do it with like the Trader Joe's one.
- 45:57My kids' favorite banana bread mix is when I do it with the simple Mills one.
- 46:01It is so good.
- 46:03It is delicious.
- 46:03I just made one for like boxed banana bread.
- 46:05Right.
- 46:06It's so good.
- 46:06But you have to tell.
- 46:07But I doctor it up a little bit.
- 46:08You did.
- 46:09I never follow the rest.
- 46:10Actually.
- 46:10My girlfriend Chrissy will, tells this story about how when I went to her house one day and I was helping her prepare for a party'cause she was on crutches and I was like, I'll maybe she was hosting book club that night and I was like, I'll come over and I'll help you cook.
- 46:22So never ask me to do that, by the way.
- 46:25Unless you want, if you want things done your way.
- 46:27'cause when I come into a kitchen, I just do things my way.
- 46:30I was making the banana bread and she was getting mad at me'cause I wasn't following the directions.
- 46:34No, you never do.
- 46:35I feel like, because I never follow a direction.
- 46:37Yeah.
- 46:37But that night when she served the banana bread, everybody was like, this is so good, Chrissy.
- 46:41Is this your recipe?
- 46:42And I was like, well it is.
- 46:43But it was the tea version of it.
- 46:45I know.
- 46:45But you like have this way of like, you take like something boxed and then you don't follow the directions on the back.
- 46:50Never.
- 46:50But you somehow make it even better.
- 46:52So, right.
- 46:52So I add, so the box I think calls for like a half a couple oil, some water, two eggs.
- 46:58But it doesn't ask for you to add bananas.
- 47:00I'm like, but it's banana bread.
- 47:02So I do the box and then I add bananas.
- 47:04I see you did four bananas.
- 47:06I I did four bananas.
- 47:06I asked her,'cause I ate them to when I came in the house.
- 47:08And we always have like a ton of bananas in this house.
- 47:11'cause everybody's bananas.
- 47:12Yep.
- 47:13Like everybody's bananas.
- 47:14Everybody, it's like the one food, all six of us like to eat.
- 47:17I added eggs.
- 47:19I added like a little bit of cinnamon and then I actually threw in two servings of protein powder.
- 47:24This like vanilla whe protein powder.
- 47:25And I mixed it all up and then I just threw in chocolate chips.
- 47:28It was so good.
- 47:30Delicious.
- 47:30And I put'em in like the little muffin tins.
- 47:32But if I make a banana bread every morning, no, I'm gonna try.
- 47:34No, literally.
- 47:35And it's, and it's gone.
- 47:36When the kids leave for school, like the banana bread is gone.
- 47:40It's, and it's something that you, I feel like you could have that as a breakfast, as a snack, as like a tree at night.
- 47:45It was so good.
- 47:45Like, I'm not even joking.
- 47:46It's delicious.
- 47:47It's a simple Mills brand is so great and I wanna say the box is like around 10, like retail is like around 10 or$11.
- 47:54So every time it's on sale, like Target or Whole Foods or Amazon, I always like stock up.
- 47:59So I'm actually, I just made my last, I have like one box left.
- 48:02I need to.
- 48:02Was so good.
- 48:03We stuck.
- 48:04But I think you can turn a box of anything into something delicious if you just like, you need to add a few things, doctor it up a little bit.
- 48:11Yep.
- 48:11I loved it.
- 48:12It was delicious.
- 48:13I'm gonna probably be taking that I had chocolate on my face before we started.
- 48:16I did.
- 48:16I like tea.
- 48:17You have chocolate on your face.
- 48:18The evidence is there that we, I probably did too.
- 48:21'cause I, I had one and I I will be taking some to go.
- 48:24Yeah, yeah.
- 48:24Take some muffins to go.
- 48:26They're great.
- 48:26They're like a great little treat.
- 48:28I love them.
- 48:28That was, that was such a good one.
- 48:29So mine this week is a repeat.
- 48:32Mine is my reformer machine because I've had it for five months and I shared this, I think right when I got it and I just love it.
- 48:41So it's my Pilates reformer machine at home.
- 48:43Now it's even a better time to share it because now you've been using it now for five months now.
- 48:46I've been using it consistently for five months.
- 48:48I also am still using Leah's Pilates app, which.
- 48:52Leah Elli, who we've had on the podcast before, launched her own Pilates reformer app.
- 48:56She does have MAT classes too, but I'm using those consistently and I just have to say that if you're a busy mom, and I know it's so important, I feel like we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be like, I know, but it's great to have the social aspect of going to classes and I get that.
- 49:12But like at some seasons of your life, it just does not make sense to have that weight on you.
- 49:18And this is such a better option if you have this space and you can like invest in something and you know that you like to do it.
- 49:24I feel like you have to take away that.
- 49:27Oh, but then I'm not getting out of the house.
- 49:29And it's like, just'cause you had even said, Olga said how important like consistent movement is.
- 49:34Yes.
- 49:34And if you can actually do it consistently, enjoy it and enjoy it.
- 49:38And it also removes the stress out of it from my life.
- 49:41So then it's gonna be affected.
- 49:42Then it's an you go to a class all frazzled.
- 49:45Yes.
- 49:46Or you supposed to like activate your muscles.
- 49:48Yeah.
- 49:48Or, or you're like, oh, I had to come'cause I couldn't move this or I was gonna lose the class.
- 49:53And like there, I do agree.
- 49:54Like if you're in this period of your life where like getting out to a workout class makes sense for you, go do it.
- 50:00But if you can't, I think it's so great to invest in absolutely it yourself.
- 50:05Like bring it home and then have it be consistent.
- 50:08And that's what I've been doing the last five months and it's so helpful for me.
- 50:12And so I always say that I am somebody that puts working out at the bottom of the list.
- 50:17Like if I have other things to do, I put it at the bottom.
- 50:20But since I know this is in my house.
- 50:23And I have an app on demand and I'm not worrying about a schedule.
- 50:26I, I can fit it in really at any time.
- 50:29And it's, I think that that consistency has changed it for me, just like knowing that I have access to it at all times.
- 50:36So I have to just shout that out again and I'll leave the link to my reformer.
- 50:41'cause I ordered one specifically that Leah recommended for at home.
- 50:44'cause you can get a bunch of different ones.
- 50:46She actually explained,'cause I see these floating around and I just did wanna say this.
- 50:50You see reformer machines that are like on Amazon or, for, for cheap.
- 50:55Yeah.
- 50:55And she said that yes you can get a reformer, but you're worried about the quality of the movement and how important it is that things go smoothly because you can hurt yourself if the springs aren't correct.
- 51:07If the mechanics aren't correct and you're moving and pushing against too much tension.
- 51:13She was saying that you really do wanna buy it from someone reputable.
- 51:16And so I ended up purchasing it with where, the place that she purchased one from.
- 51:20So it's reputable, you know, that you're not getting her, you know it's correct.
- 51:24And you have her guiding you through these exercises.
- 51:26And I have, and then I, I, I love her app so much and she has a lot of food adding to it.
- 51:31She has a lot of food and, um, nutrition and ingredients on her app too, which is great too.
- 51:36So her subscription is.
- 51:37Wonderful.
- 51:38She, there's so many classes, there's mat classes if you don't wanna do reform or classes or if you don't have, have one.
- 51:43Yep.
- 51:43Or if you're traveling.
- 51:44Yeah.
- 51:44And you know, so I just wanted to shout that out'cause it's been five months and I can say that it's probably been the most consistent thing that I've done exercise-wise.
- 51:52Do you feel like your strength is getting?
- 51:54I do.
- 51:54And it's, I just also feel like the stress of like not having to go out, I didn't realize how much that was affecting me.
- 52:01You know, like of like, oh, I have to go to the workout class'cause it's better for me mentally.
- 52:05No, this is, the consistency is what's better for me mentally.
- 52:08When do you find it's best to get downstairs?
- 52:10So I try, I, I used to say I love to wake up before the kids and get the workout done, but that liter, it's a joke in my house.
- 52:16It's like if I open my eyeballs, my daughter wakes up, so I can't, so that would also, like, I know I used to find that happen a lot too.
- 52:23Yeah.
- 52:23It's so, I, I actually find it's when my.
- 52:26Usually when my nanny gets to my house, I'm able to sneak down.
- 52:30I do like a half an hour.
- 52:31I don't do anything crazy and and then I'm done.
- 52:34So it's, I'm usually like done by nine 30 and then I can start my work day.
- 52:38So that's kind of how I've been working it out.
- 52:40And if it doesn't work out, then I go down before she leaves.
- 52:43Right.
- 52:44You know, it's kind of like I'll get my work done and then I'll run down the last half an hour before she leaves.
- 52:48Like it, you just have to do it when you have to do it.
- 52:50Yeah.
- 52:51Good.
- 52:51I'm glad.
- 52:52Perfect.
- 52:53And my um, uh, spotlight this week would be, again, going back to consistency.
- 52:57Mm-hmm.
- 52:58I was speaking to a European uh, masters in my field and we're talking about Microcurrent again, and they said, okay, you need to do it every two weeks to see consistency.
- 53:06I wasn't doing it every two weeks.
- 53:08And I told myself, and I started two weeks ago doing it this week.
- 53:12That's wonders.
- 53:13And that's like the glove microcurrent?
- 53:16Yes.
- 53:16Yes.
- 53:16Okay.
- 53:17And you do it on yourself?
- 53:18Yes.
- 53:18Oh my.
- 53:18Even though I wasn't consistent, I was never every two weeks and didn't know.
- 53:22Is, is this something that you could do at home?
- 53:24Yes.
- 53:24Yes.
- 53:24With a new face.
- 53:25With a new face, yes.
- 53:26Okay.
- 53:26That's a good brand to do it.
- 53:27That's okay.
- 53:28That's good.
- 53:28I do have that.
- 53:29And I do think it's like something I don't explain, act it out for our listeners.
- 53:32Like what is this?
- 53:33Yes.
- 53:33Explain a little bit about Microcurrent is, we talked a little bit about it, but it's electrical, puling, stimulation, pulsing on the muscle.
- 53:40Yeah.
- 53:40I think the at home devices are much lighter than the one.
- 53:43Yes.
- 53:43Um, professional ones, but they work on stimulating the mu, it's just, just like an workout for the face.
- 53:48Okay.
- 53:48Okay.
- 53:49And do you feel like it does help with the tightening, the jaw, the cheekbones, the cheekbones, cheekbones get lifted and everything gets lifted.
- 53:54Does it help with the jaw too?
- 53:55It does.
- 53:56It does?
- 53:56Yes.
- 53:56Okay.
- 53:56Okay.
- 53:58If you were to come in to see you, how would you, how would that differ?
- 54:02Like the technique differ than what like Christina has at home?
- 54:04At home settings?
- 54:05The settings our microcurrent is much stronger.
- 54:08Mm-hmm.
- 54:08Works deeper and it's in levels.
- 54:09If you remember, we have level one, level two, and level three.
- 54:12At home.
- 54:12It's, it's dangerous to have such devices at home.
- 54:15Right.
- 54:15Of course.
- 54:16Okay.
- 54:17So your device at home, are you like moving your hands to these motions?
- 54:20Well, I'm doing, to her point, I'm not doing it consistent enough.
- 54:22I mean, again, that has to be consistent.
- 54:23I think that pre-kids, yeah, when I had all the time in the world now I think of like my preki self, and I'm like, that girl was on vacation All the freaking time.
- 54:31But like, I'm not now.
- 54:32So having to stand there, having, when I always feel like I could be doing a hundred, it's not a priority.
- 54:38It's not, it's not a priority.
- 54:39It's not priority.
- 54:40So it's hard to stay consistent with something like that.
- 54:42Yeah.
- 54:42But you're saying that it's worth it.
- 54:44And so Of course then I'll do it if it's worth it.
- 54:46I think realistically for me, what I take away from this conversation is I'm going to be very strategic in the skincare routine.
- 54:55Mm-hmm.
- 54:55And making sure that I fill all of these buckets.
- 54:57So I'm gonna start with an acid, then I'm gonna have a serum, and then I'm gonna end with an enzyme and a retinol or retinoid.
- 55:04That's all.
- 55:05And then I'm gonna come see you once a month for you to do the other things.
- 55:08Then you realistic your injectables every once in, in a while, realistically.
- 55:10Yep.
- 55:11I can't see myself incorporating like modality at home.
- 55:14Like I can't see myself derma, like I forget to wear my Invisalign.
- 55:17I don't think I can, I can remember to do know.
- 55:20I know it's, it's not, like you mentioned not a priority and it's a commit.
- 55:24And it brings more stress.
- 55:25It does.
- 55:25So just having another thing to do.
- 55:27Yes.
- 55:27And then you feel like you feel like a failure when you don't stay consistent with things.
- 55:31So I, I do agree with you that I think that sometimes it's better to just make the investment and have an appointment to go to.
- 55:38And you know you're gonna go to that and you're like, probably worth, it's probably more worthwhile.
- 55:41You're coming to my bathroom before you leave and you're gonna leave it all out for me.
- 55:45And you're gonna, or if there's something that I need to get, then I'm gonna come, I would like to look into and I'm gonna pick it up from you later.
- 55:50We'll film it.
- 55:51I'll put it on our Oh, I love that.
- 55:52That's a good idea.
- 55:53And then you'll have to come to my house.
- 55:54Yeah.
- 55:55I've met few women that are just, lazy would be a nice word.
- 55:58I, I, I always tell me you need that toner.
- 56:01The change.
- 56:01It won't happen.
- 56:02Your pos are too large.
- 56:04Oh, we didn't even talk about the toner today.
- 56:05Didn't talk about toner.
- 56:06When does the toner happen?
- 56:08Toners, toner, toners.
- 56:09Oh, okay.
- 56:10So toner is alright.
- 56:11So we did, we just all, there's so many names, but she says I'm too lazy.
- 56:15I better come every Saturday.
- 56:16And she comes every Saturday.
- 56:19Wow.
- 56:20Yes.
- 56:21Well, that's great.
- 56:22That's great for you.
- 56:22But I think it's to, to your point, I think a lot, I, I loved that.
- 56:25I feel like that 80% of it can be done at home.
- 56:29It's simple.
- 56:30Just so refreshing to hear.
- 56:31So I think that that's so great.
- 56:33And it doesn't have to be the highest, most expensive Highend skincare.
- 56:37Mm-hmm.
- 56:37Some of those products are much better because they resource so af not, I just disclose for example, Mont, they have the Swiss ops and they collect their plants.
- 56:47They ferment and they ferment with bacteria that lives in the cloud.
- 56:50Yeah.
- 56:50So they go with a helicopter, pick up a bacteria, they bring it into the lab and they combine those things.
- 56:56It's very difficult to know any other skincare lines that would do the same or a tour, their last collection.
- 57:02It's completely generated by ai.
- 57:05It's amazing.
- 57:06It's so futuristic knowing that in artificial intelligence, knowing all the forms of peptides, was able to create a peptide that can actually penetrate.
- 57:15It's beautiful and it's scary.
- 57:17But again, not every skincare line has those resources.
- 57:20Mm-hmm.
- 57:20And the support of their scientists and their teams.
- 57:23And that's why it's worth investing.
- 57:26Few ingredients, few other lines.
- 57:28Right.
- 57:28Okay.
- 57:29So like not everything has to be.
- 57:30Mm-hmm.
- 57:31I love that.
- 57:31I feel like that is just so great to know and to remember.
- 57:34And so if you are lucky enough to be local to Olga and Oh, and skincare, like Tea said, she's located in West Hartford, Connecticut, so she's worth the drive if you were driving distance.
- 57:46Thank you.
- 57:46You can pamper yourself and you can.
- 57:48But you said you have your husband or something from all over to visit Certificate Massachusetts.
- 57:52Lots of Massachusetts.
- 57:53Yeah.
- 57:53You and then Rhode Island.
- 57:55I mean, you're right in West Hartford Center.
- 57:56So if you have somebody in the coming from a while, you can go right over to like Doro group for lunch right around the corner, you know?
- 58:04There's lots of places.
- 58:05It's worth it, worth it, worth it.
- 58:07Make the drive.
- 58:08And if not, I feel like if you're not local, hopefully you're just able to get just so much information and insight into the skincare world because just provided so much information to us and we're so grateful.
