- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone is back on 710WOR. Well, hey, we'll take
- 0:01Speaker 1: some calls coming up.
- 0:02Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
- 0:02Speaker 3: World Series could be over tonight.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's 3-0.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I got home later last night.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I said, oh, I'm going to watch this game. It's
- 0:06Speaker 1: going to be an exciting game.
- 0:07Speaker 2: World Series.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I turn it on.
- 0:09Speaker 4: 10-0 in the 7th.
- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, it's not going to be such an exciting game.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Turns out it was the mismatch of the century. But
- 0:35Speaker 1: gas prices. I'm looking at that. I'm watching CNN. Look
- 0:38Speaker 1: at this, CNN. This is all talking about gas prices,
- 0:40Speaker 1: gas prices, gas prices. Number one issue, gas prices. Nobody
- 0:44Speaker 1: has a lower approval rating with gas prices than President Trump.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I hate to break it to CNN. There has never
- 0:50Speaker 1: been an election in the history of the world where
- 0:53Speaker 1: the number one issue was gas prices. Oh, it's an issue.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It annoys people. especially if you're in a business where
- 0:59Speaker 1: you need gasoline to do your business. But it's not
- 1:02Speaker 1: the number one issue. It never has been. It never
- 1:05Speaker 1: will be. It's, again, annoying, but you don't see everybody
- 1:09Speaker 1: running around yelling about gas prices. It's not the number
- 1:13Speaker 1: one issue. Take it as a tribute to Trump. When
- 1:16Speaker 1: they're trying to really get him on something, all they
- 1:19Speaker 1: could come up with is gas prices. They don't have
- 1:20Speaker 1: anything else to hit him with. Otherwise, economic statistics are
- 1:25Speaker 1: phenomenal right now. James Carville, you remember the old James Carville,
- 1:31Speaker 1: that lizard-looking old fossil? He was like the big Clinton
- 1:35Speaker 1: Democratic analyst, but he's now yelling and screaming. He puts
- 1:40Speaker 1: out these videos where he's yelling and he's screaming at
- 1:43Speaker 1: progressives and Democratic socialists. He goes, you did irreparable damage.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You've destroyed the party. You've done real damage. All right, good.
- 1:52Speaker 1: First guy to stand up to him, but where's Schumer?
- 1:55Speaker 1: Where's Hakeem Jeffries on all of this? Hey, let's take
- 1:58Speaker 1: some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's go to David
- 2:04Speaker 1: in California. David, how you doing?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Hi, Mark. We were talking about the Wall Street Journal yesterday.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gotten pretty bad.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Just wanted to mention really quickly, it's always been two newspapers.
- 2:16Speaker 2: The editorial side's been conservative and the news side has
- 2:20Speaker 2: been very liberal. But here's what's going on.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, it's gotten extremely liberal and too much fake news
- 2:27Speaker 1: in there lately. Too many fake stories lately.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Well, but Trump derangement syndrome has taken over the editorial side.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But here's the key to it.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I'm talking about the news side. News side. I'm talking
- 2:36Speaker 1: about the news side. Too many fake stories in there lately.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Right, but the way the journalists they're hiring are these
- 2:42Speaker 2: students that are so far left. And that's why, well,
- 2:47Speaker 2: you see it in TV news, you see it everywhere.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Well, they don't hire students at the Wall Street Journal.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They hire pretty experienced guys, but it's gone very left
- 2:53Speaker 1: and they've been caught with too much fake news lately.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You know, if you read some of these things, like the,
- 2:59Speaker 1: believe it or not, they still have a daily news
- 3:01Speaker 1: in New York. Remember the daily news? They still print it.
- 3:04Speaker 1: but it's like two interns writing it. So they just
- 3:06Speaker 1: put out a list, top 50 restaurants in New York.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's the stupidest list you've ever seen because they got
- 3:11Speaker 1: some 22-year-old who's getting $ 75 a week to put together
- 3:15Speaker 1: this list. It's not like the old days of the
- 3:17Speaker 1: Daily News where the top people in their field are writing.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It's just a bunch of, couple of kids writing the
- 3:22Speaker 1: whole thing. Let's go to Chucky in Stony Brook. Chucky,
- 3:27Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 3:27Speaker 2: Hey, Mark.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Mark, how are you?
- 3:30Speaker 4: Good to talk to you. Mark, what is on God's
- 3:32Speaker 4: green earth what is with Nancy Sinatra and her bashing
- 3:37Speaker 4: of Trump? Oh, she is, but her father would have
- 3:41Speaker 4: loved Donald Trump.
- 3:42Speaker 1: He hated Trump. He hated, well, I'll tell you what, uh, Trump,
- 3:46Speaker 1: a lot of the Trump personality is taken from Frank Sinatra.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It's the way Frank Sinatra was in real life. When
- 3:51Speaker 1: you hear the way Trump talks to the reporters and
- 3:53Speaker 1: yells and screams at people, calls people, that was Sinatra
- 3:56Speaker 1: in real life. So he copied a lot of Sinatra's personality,
- 4:01Speaker 1: a lot of it. And then, And that rubbed Mr.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Sinatra.
- 4:04Speaker 1: No, what happened was when he got the casinos, he
- 4:07Speaker 1: then decided to hire Frank Sinatra to play the Taj Mahal.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That was the biggest thing he could do in the
- 4:12Speaker 1: casino world. And when he got Sinatra there, he started
- 4:16Speaker 1: doing all this stuff to Sinatra, nickel and diming him
- 4:18Speaker 1: and trying to screw around with the money. So Sinatra
- 4:21Speaker 1: wouldn't put up with this. So he ended up hating Trump,
- 4:24Speaker 1: hating him.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Wow. Okay.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I thought they were like the same personality a little bit.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Those kids, Nancy and Tina Sinatra, very nice. But they
- 4:31Speaker 1: grew up at Beverly Hills High School. It was kind
- 4:33Speaker 1: of in Hollywood. You become very left-wing. So their father
- 4:38Speaker 1: hated them, and they're very left, which is normal if
- 4:42Speaker 1: you grew up in L.A. But thanks for calling. Let's
- 4:45Speaker 1: go to Jerry, Greenwich, Connecticut. Jerry, how are you doing?
- 4:49Speaker 2: I'm doing well. Thank you, Mark. I was wondering if
- 4:52Speaker 2: I give a little plug to my good friend Ryan Fazio,
- 4:56Speaker 2: my friend, to vote for him.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're in Connecticut, the governor, Ned Lamont, is
- 5:01Speaker 1: running for his third term. He was pretty good the
- 5:04Speaker 1: first term, not so hot the last term. He went
- 5:06Speaker 1: totally woke and left-wing. Throw him the hell out.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I would like my friend to vote for him. I
- 5:11Speaker 2: like him.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I'm trying to plug him, and you keep cutting me off.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to promote him. I'm trying to help you here.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And I know Ryan Fazio. He's a great guy. He'll
- 5:20Speaker 1: be a terrific governor. He's a wonderful, honest, decent, common
- 5:24Speaker 1: sense guy. So in Connecticut, vote for Ryan Fazio for governor.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I have a sign somewhere alone. It's on North Street,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and I hope that my friends vote for him.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question. You live on North Street.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It's one of the most beautiful palatial streets in America.
- 5:42Speaker 1: These people that put up the lawn signs, if you
- 5:44Speaker 1: drive around Connecticut, you see these lawns. What do you think,
- 5:47Speaker 1: that a guy driving by will see a sign and go, oh,
- 5:49Speaker 1: my God, I guess I got to switch my vote.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I got to vote for it. Do you think the
- 5:53Speaker 1: lawn sign actually does anything?
- 5:56Speaker 2: Well, I stood for President Trump. I'm 87 now, and
- 6:03Speaker 2: I was 85, and I stood for 11 days for
- 6:06Speaker 2: President Trump on North Street, cold, rain.
- 6:10Speaker 1: All right, but I just want to say, for all
- 6:12Speaker 1: of you with your lawn signs, throw the lawn sign away.
- 6:14Speaker 1: It's not helping anybody. Get out there. Call the campaign. Volunteer.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Work a phone bank. Go knock on doors. That's going
- 6:20Speaker 1: to help.
- 6:20Speaker 2: At my age, I don't have the strength to do it.
- 6:23Speaker 1: All right. But then you live on North Street. You're
- 6:26Speaker 1: a wealthy guy. Donate. Donate to Ryan Fazio.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:29Speaker 2: That's what I'll do. Thank you.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Thank you very much, Mark. Thanks. That's a very important thing.
- 6:34Speaker 1: One thing about Democrats, they're like an army. They're out
- 6:36Speaker 1: there like commandos. Republicans, they hold cocktail parties. They put
- 6:42Speaker 1: up lawns. It doesn't help. It's not doing anything. Get
- 6:44Speaker 1: out there. Volunteer on a campaign. Go to work. Do something.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike in Brooklyn. Mike, how you doing?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yesterday during the football game, they were airing an anti-Blakeman commercial,
- 6:57Speaker 3: and all these liberals could come up with is that
- 6:59Speaker 3: he's a Trump supporter. Nothing against policy, nothing like that.
- 7:02Speaker 3: They just don't want you to vote for him because
- 7:04Speaker 3: he's a fan of Trump.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's a good point. You know, the other
- 7:08Speaker 1: thing is they did a hell of a lot of
- 7:10Speaker 1: opposition research on Blakeman. These dirty Democrats, the Hochul, you know,
- 7:16Speaker 1: Dirty Tactics. Boy, they did some opposition research on Blakeman.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And you know what they came up with?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 7:24Speaker 1: There's nothing bad about the guy. Nothing in his past.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Absolutely nothing. So the attack ads are all that he's
- 7:30Speaker 1: friends with Donald Trump. You know, Blakeman has been in politics.
- 7:34Speaker 1: He's been in business for 30-something years. Of course he
- 7:37Speaker 1: knows Donald Trump. Blakeman was quite the well-prominent New York figure.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Everybody knows Donald Trump. So He agrees with Trump on
- 7:45Speaker 1: some things, and he disagrees with Trump on some big issues, too.
- 7:49Speaker 1: But that's all they got on him. If they put
- 7:53Speaker 1: an ad on in Monday Night Football, that's an expensive ad.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So if Hochul spent the money to run an attack
- 8:00Speaker 1: ad in Monday Night Football, that means she's panicking. It
- 8:05Speaker 1: means she's seen the real polls, not the fake college polls,
- 8:08Speaker 1: but the real ones. And that's panic when you spend
- 8:11Speaker 1: that kind of money primetime Monday night football. That's like
- 8:14Speaker 1: the most watched thing of the week. So she's really,
- 8:18Speaker 1: really worried about Blakeman then. She's even got Mom Donnie
- 8:23Speaker 1: out there campaigning for her.
- 8:24Speaker 5: When they're looking at this gubernatorial election, what they're seeing
- 8:27Speaker 5: is that the governor has a clear record and a
- 8:29Speaker 5: clear vision of making life more affordable in the nation's
- 8:33Speaker 5: most expensive city. And Bruce Blakeman's vision is to work
- 8:36Speaker 5: closer with ICE and to create a private militia in
- 8:39Speaker 5: Nassau County.
- 8:42Speaker 1: The private militia, he did set up like in the
- 8:46Speaker 1: case of the highest emergency terrorist attack, he did put
- 8:49Speaker 1: together where ex-cops, ex-military that could be called in as volunteers.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It's like they do in the, you know, a lot
- 8:56Speaker 1: of towns have a volunteer fire department. It's not a militia.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And this part here.
- 9:01Speaker 5: When they're looking at this gubernatorial election, what they're seeing
- 9:05Speaker 5: is that the governor has a clear record and a
- 9:07Speaker 5: clear vision.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's true. He's absolutely right. Kathy Hochul has
- 9:11Speaker 1: a clear record. It's not a good one, but it's clear.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It's pretty clear when you look at it. It's a
- 9:17Speaker 1: terrible record. It's awful, but it's clear. It's so clear.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I've seen clear, but this is really clear. It's clear.
- 9:25Speaker 1: She's no bail, no jail. Let the criminals out. If
- 9:28Speaker 1: you're here illegally and committing crimes, ICE is not allowed
- 9:31Speaker 1: to touch you. She's anti-law enforcement at every level. She
- 9:36Speaker 1: wants to tax you to death. She's the one with
- 9:39Speaker 1: the congestion pricing and every tax rate. She's had 48
- 9:43Speaker 1: increases on your electric bill. She's set down fracking. She's
- 9:47Speaker 1: driven your electric. It's a very, very clear record. It's
- 9:51Speaker 1: as clear as can be. It's horrible, but, boy, is
- 9:55Speaker 1: it clear. uh hey we got a lot coming up
- 9:57Speaker 1: and don't forget at noon buck and clay do an
- 10:00Speaker 1: excellent show every day at 12 noon then at three
- 10:04Speaker 1: o'clock sean hannity is back uh he's been away uh
- 10:08Speaker 1: the honeymoon He'll be back. He'll be talking about all
- 10:13Speaker 1: of that today, 3 o'clock. And then you got Jesse
- 10:16Speaker 1: Kelly at 6. You got the very funny Jimmy Fallon.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It's a great show every night at 9 here on 710WOR.
