- 0:01Announcer: It's time now to get the How Out of Your Life, a weekly broadcast with real people, sharing real struggles, and offering real hope.
- 0:10Announcer: Today's show will encourage, inspire, and empower you to face life's challenges with a full confidence and renewed hope.
- 0:18Announcer: Now let's join our host, Ron Myers, the promoter.
- 0:22Ron Meyers: What does it take to wake someone up?
- 0:24Ron Meyers: Is it painful, lost, rock bottom?
- 0:27Ron Meyers: Or does it take something so real, so undeniable that you can never go back to who you used to be?
- 0:34Ron Meyers: Because today you're going to hear a story that crosses that line.
- 0:37Ron Meyers: Hello, my friends.
- 0:38Ron Meyers: It is so good to be with you today.
- 0:40Ron Meyers: My name is Ron Myers, and this is Get the Hell Out of Your Life, where we share real stories, real struggles, and real hope.
- 0:48Ron Meyers: And my goal is simple to encourage, inspire, and empower you, and maybe, just maybe, help you take one step closer to the life God created you to live.
- 0:58Ron Meyers: And this show is for you.
- 1:00Ron Meyers: This show is for the one who doesn't go to church, the one who's been hurt by church, and the one who thinks God might be done with you.
- 1:09Ron Meyers: Let me tell you something, my friend.
- 1:12Ron Meyers: God is never finished with any of us.
- 1:15Ron Meyers: And today I need you to lean in and pay attention to this story.
- 1:20Ron Meyers: Because what if I told you a man sat up in a coffin and started talking about heaven?
- 1:26Ron Meyers: Yeah, you heard that right.
- 1:28Ron Meyers: But this isn't about a moment.
- 1:31Ron Meyers: This is about a life, a life that went from childhood faith to drugs, to jail, to homelessness, and somewhere and all that chaos, God didn't just show up.
- 1:42Ron Meyers: He rescued him, not through willpower, not through trying harder, not through religion, but through one word, surrender.
- 1:51Ron Meyers: And today's guest, Scottie McLeod, is living proof that no matter how far you've gone, you're never too far gone.
- 2:00Ron Meyers: Let me repeat that.
- 2:01Ron Meyers: You are never too far gone.
- 2:04Ron Meyers: So wherever you are right now, I don't believe you're here by accident.
- 2:09Ron Meyers: I believe this moment is for you.
- 2:12Ron Meyers: It's rigged, my friend.
- 2:14Ron Meyers: So let's get into it.
- 2:15Ron Meyers: Scotty, take us back.
- 2:17Ron Meyers: How does a life go from faith to brokenness and somehow back again?
- 2:22Scotty McLeod: When I was ten years old, I was I gave my heart and life to Jesus.
- 2:27Scotty McLeod: I was young, then I got a little bit older, and I got off the path.
- 2:32Scotty McLeod: So I come from a long line of preachers.
- 2:35Scotty McLeod: Actually, what they were all Southern Baptists, and until my dad, which he was a Southern Baptist too, but he kind of went off in a little bit of a different direction.
- 2:45Scotty McLeod: But there and I I got into the world, I got to doing drugs, drinking, and at one time I ended up homeless, and I was on bottom, and there was hell in my life.
- 2:55Scotty McLeod: And that hell just kept piling up and piling up and piling up until finally I gave up and surrendered.
- 3:03Scotty McLeod: And when I did, it was the greatest thing could have possibly happened.
- 3:07Scotty McLeod: So my dad had started a ministry.
- 3:10Scotty McLeod: The name of the ministry is uh Broken Stone Ministries.
- 3:14Scotty McLeod: And there's been a lot of shootoffs from that.
- 3:16Scotty McLeod: And one of those is called Our Father's Arms.
- 3:19Scotty McLeod: And we have two homes for men, and we have a free medical clinic located in Jacksonville, Alabama.
- 3:25Scotty McLeod: And my dad was building all this up, ended up with a music hall, had Christian martists on there.
- 3:31Scotty McLeod: It's called Duggar Mountain Music Hall.
- 3:33Scotty McLeod: It played public television and actually, I think, 80 stations across the world.
- 3:38Scotty McLeod: And it's just been one thing after another how God has blessed this and kept it all going.
- 3:44Scotty McLeod: So in the back of my mind, even when I was living wild and in my sin, I knew God had a plan.
- 3:52Scotty McLeod: So I found out my dad had an aneurysm, and they said it was inoperable.
- 3:57Scotty McLeod: So I started going to church with him, and then God just started working on me a little bit at a time.
- 4:03Scotty McLeod: And when I'd go to family dinner, I'd say I'd say something about Jesus, and I'd see Daddy turn and look at me.
- 4:08Scotty McLeod: See, Daddy knew he was about to pass.
- 4:11Scotty McLeod: And I had told myself that I he could have had this for years, you know.
- 4:16Scotty McLeod: But Daddy knew better than that.
- 4:18Scotty McLeod: And he comes to my house and he brings me his Bible and my granddad's Bible.
- 4:23Scotty McLeod: And I thought, well, that's cool, you know.
- 4:25Scotty McLeod: And then he leaves.
- 4:26Scotty McLeod: And within a week, he had a stroke and passed preaching a graveside service.
- 4:32Scotty McLeod: He went down right there beside the grave while he was consoling the family.
- 4:36Scotty McLeod: And uh and I was thinking, wow, that's amazing, you know, that that God would allow him to go serving.
- 4:44Scotty McLeod: And I was sitting, it was hard on me.
- 4:46Scotty McLeod: You know, the first week or two I was in a fog, and then it dawned on me that Daddy had told me 15 years before that, that when he passed, a friend of his in Tennessee had some stuff for me.
- 4:59Scotty McLeod: So I got in touch with a friend in Tennessee and I drove up there and and the friend gave me a a bunch of teaching tapes, teaching CDs and tapes, and he gave me a DVD.
- 5:10Scotty McLeod: And I wasn't sure what the DVD was, but when I got back, I put it in the DVD player.
- 5:15Scotty McLeod: And there's a little funeral home close to here.
- 5:17Scotty McLeod: It's called K.
- 5:18Scotty McLeod: L.
- 5:18Scotty McLeod: Brown's funeral home.
- 5:20Scotty McLeod: And Daddy would always preach funerals for people that didn't have money.
- 5:23Scotty McLeod: They could always call Daddy and he would come in there and do it.
- 5:26Scotty McLeod: So all of a sudden the camera comes in the front door at K.L.
- 5:30Scotty McLeod: Brown, and there's this music playing like funeral music.
- 5:34Scotty McLeod: The camera comes in and it goes to the coffin, and a preacher in a suit opens the coffin, and then Daddy sits up in the coffin and starts talking about how awesome it is to be in heaven.
- 5:47unknown: Wow.
- 5:51Ron Meyers: Well, I bet you did I bet you did a little two-step.
- 5:54Ron Meyers: You all you see that on the TV Dean, you see your dad pop up out of a coffin.
- 6:00Scotty McLeod: I did it at first.
- 6:01Scotty McLeod: I started crying, and then I started uh shouting, you know, and uh we ended up playing that at his celebration of life.
- 6:08Scotty McLeod: And when they first opened, it was during COVID, but there was a lot of people there.
- 6:12Scotty McLeod: And when the coffin first opened, everybody went, oh.
- 6:16Scotty McLeod: But then when he smiled and started talking about heaven, everybody started cheering.
- 6:21Scotty McLeod: And it was amazing.
- 6:22Ron Meyers: And I know he hadn't gone too far.
- 6:24Ron Meyers: What did he tell the audience about heaven?
- 6:27Scotty McLeod: As always, we try to keep our focus completely on Jesus.
- 6:31Scotty McLeod: He just started talking about how great it is, we'll see everybody again.
- 6:36Scotty McLeod: And he had a song called Christians Never Say Goodbye, just so long for a little while.
- 6:42Scotty McLeod: And he was quoting that song and just talking about the love of Jesus.
- 6:46Scotty McLeod: And you know, 1 Corinthians 13, 8 tells us love never fails.
- 6:52Scotty McLeod: And that's just the motto he lived by, and that's the motto we're living by.
- 6:56Scotty McLeod: Amen.
- 6:57Scotty McLeod: Now, sometimes sometimes I think he's still here with us.
- 7:00Scotty McLeod: You know, I started going to the juvenile detention center close to here and playing and singing songs for the kids down there.
- 7:06Scotty McLeod: And Daddy had gone down there and done it years ago, and they called us in at Christmas, and they were gonna give us this little award and certificate, you know.
- 7:16Scotty McLeod: And it was all the daytime I go at night, and all the daytime people were the ones giving out the certificates.
- 7:22Scotty McLeod: So I'm sitting there and they're calling people up and they're asking their name.
- 7:26Scotty McLeod: You know, they're calling the name out, and the person goes up and gets their award, and they call my dad's name out, and I look at my friend, and my friend looks at me, and they call daddy's name out again, and I go get his awards.
- 7:38Scotty McLeod: You know, it's those little God winks.
- 7:40Scotty McLeod: You know, God talks to you, and if you're looking, you can hear it.
- 7:44Ron Meyers: He sure does.
- 7:44Ron Meyers: So you've picked up the mantle of his legacy of in my father's arms, your ministry.
- 7:51Ron Meyers: So you're running the show now, right?
- 7:54Scotty McLeod: I'm one of them.
- 7:55Scotty McLeod: My uh mother and my cousin, there's several of us that work with the ministry, and you know, through the years there's been a constant flow of healthy community coming through to work with the guys, the guys who have either been in prison or on drugs or on the streets.
- 8:10Scotty McLeod: And God just keeps sending the right people at the right time, and and it's just amazing to watch what he does.
- 8:16Scotty McLeod: You know, we've never had a fundraiser or asked for money at all.
- 8:20Scotty McLeod: Wow.
- 8:21Scotty McLeod: And God's just kept supplying the money and the funds to keep it going.
- 8:25Scotty McLeod: And he can close it down anytime he wants to.
- 8:27Scotty McLeod: You know, we're not it's not like we're out trying to make money or anything like that.
- 8:32Scotty McLeod: Matter of fact, we're all most of us are volunteers, but he just keeps supplying the funds.
- 8:38Scotty McLeod: You know, when I first took over the part I'm taking I took over, I was praying to God and I was thinking, Lord, do you want to keep it going without daddy here?
- 8:46Scotty McLeod: And I was nervous and I was fearful, and that fear will it'll completely mess you up.
- 8:52Scotty McLeod: So the first thing God did, I asked him for a sign.
- 8:56Scotty McLeod: And the first thing he did was he almost immediately pulled some resources from us.
- 9:02Scotty McLeod: And I was thinking, Lord, I do you want to shut it down?
- 9:05Scotty McLeod: But in my heart I knew he didn't.
- 9:07Scotty McLeod: And then I went and played and sang up in Tennessee at a retreat.
- 9:11Scotty McLeod: And when I got back from the retreat, there was enough money to keep it going for a few more months.
- 9:15Scotty McLeod: So it was just God put it on somebody's heart, and there it was.
- 9:20Ron Meyers: Wow.
- 9:20Ron Meyers: God's never late and he's never early, but he's always on time, isn't he?
- 9:24Scotty McLeod: That's right.
- 9:25Scotty McLeod: It's it's an uncomfortable piece, you know.
- 9:27Scotty McLeod: You you gotta trust him.
- 9:28Scotty McLeod: And if you trust him, you can walk in peace and joy.
- 9:32Scotty McLeod: But if you're trusting in yourself, it's never gonna work.
- 9:35Ron Meyers: Well, Scotty, it is obvious.
- 9:37Ron Meyers: Your love, the calling on your life to love the hell out of other people, it is contagious.
- 9:44Ron Meyers: Right now, we have a lot of struggling people in this world, don't we?
- 9:50Scotty McLeod: It's amazing how many there are.
- 9:52Scotty McLeod: You know, used to back in the 90s when we first started the men's homes, you know, there was people that had problems and there were people that were struggling, but now it has touched every family.
- 10:04Scotty McLeod: Like every family you talk to, there has been a member of that family that has suffered on account of drugs or, you know, different reasons.
- 10:13Scotty McLeod: And God came and he said, Hey, you know, I'll bless you even despite what you've been through or whatever you've done.
- 10:21Scotty McLeod: It does not matter.
- 10:23Scotty McLeod: I love you and I came to make a way for you.
- 10:26Scotty McLeod: And man, when somebody gets a grasp of that, how much Jesus loves them, it turns everything around.
- 10:31Ron Meyers: And I'm sure you've seen so many stories and and people's lives change.
- 10:37Ron Meyers: Can you give an example of maybe one of your favorite I know they're all your favorite, but is there one that really stands out of somebody that just went from a lot of hell in their life to, you know, whatever?
- 10:48Scotty McLeod: Yes, sir.
- 10:49Scotty McLeod: I'll tell you, back, you know, in in the very beginning, I was telling myself, you know, well, maybe God doesn't want me to do this.
- 10:56Scotty McLeod: You know how the enemy will send out.
- 10:58Scotty McLeod: And a fellow walked up to my house on foot, and he was yellow.
- 11:03Scotty McLeod: And I had met him years before, twenty-five years before, and he was, you know, a stocky guy.
- 11:09Scotty McLeod: And he was shriveled up to nothing.
- 11:11Scotty McLeod: He was yellow, his eyes were yellow, he was jaundice.
- 11:14Scotty McLeod: And he asked me for a ride, and I gave him a ride, and I went home and I was praying about it.
- 11:19Scotty McLeod: And I felt like God was telling me that I was gonna see this fella again.
- 11:24Scotty McLeod: So I was coming home away I do not usually come home, maybe a month later.
- 11:29Scotty McLeod: And I come around the curve, and there's there's that guy standing on the side of the road.
- 11:34Scotty McLeod: And I stopped and I said, Are you doing okay, man?
- 11:36Scotty McLeod: And he said, No.
- 11:37Scotty McLeod: And I said, Do you need a ride?
- 11:39Scotty McLeod: And he said, I do.
- 11:40Scotty McLeod: And he got in the car and I started taking him to town, wherever it was, he told me he wanted to go.
- 11:46Scotty McLeod: And I asked him, I said, Friend, have you ever decided to try to get help?
- 11:51Scotty McLeod: Or have you ever wanted to get help?
- 11:53Scotty McLeod: And he started crying and he said, If I only had a chance.
- 11:57Scotty McLeod: And I said, Well, God can give you a chance.
- 12:00Scotty McLeod: Would you consider coming and staying with us at our father's arms?
- 12:04Scotty McLeod: And he teared up and he said, Please.
- 12:06Scotty McLeod: And I took him back to the lawnmower shed he had been living in.
- 12:09Scotty McLeod: The lawnmower shed didn't have power.
- 12:11Scotty McLeod: There was just a bunch of junk in there.
- 12:13Scotty McLeod: We got what little bitty had.
- 12:15Scotty McLeod: We took him out to our father's arms.
- 12:17Scotty McLeod: He was telling me about how his kids told him, told him they didn't want anything to do with him anymore.
- 12:23Scotty McLeod: Come to find out, my wife had taught his daughter in Sunday school and newer.
- 12:29Scotty McLeod: So this is amazing.
- 12:31Scotty McLeod: This is amazing.
- 12:32Scotty McLeod: So I go to the house one day and I say, Hey man, you want to go ride with me to my house?
- 12:38Scotty McLeod: And he was like, sure.
- 12:39Scotty McLeod: But what I didn't tell him was that his daughter knew how good he'd been doing and how he'd put some weight back on and his color had come back.
- 12:47Scotty McLeod: And we were riding back to my house, and I seen her van, his daughter's van sitting at the house.
- 12:53Scotty McLeod: My wife had lined it up where she was at our house and she was waiting on him to come and see her.
- 12:59Scotty McLeod: But I didn't tell him that what was about to happen.
- 13:02Scotty McLeod: So we get to the house, I got a split level house.
- 13:05Scotty McLeod: He walks up the stairs, they see each other, and they run and hug each other and start crying.
- 13:11Scotty McLeod: That's been over two years ago, and they're on the phone 30 minutes to an hour every day.
- 13:16Scotty McLeod: Wow.
- 13:17Scotty McLeod: I mean, that's what God does.
- 13:18Scotty McLeod: He restores families.
- 13:20Ron Meyers: You know, I just get goosebumps when you say that story.
- 13:23Ron Meyers: You know, obviously you are the man to take over what your father has done.
- 13:28Ron Meyers: You have a love and a passion that I can just hear it in your voice, Scotty.
- 13:33Ron Meyers: And somebody right now is listening and can relate to the story you just told, but they have no hope.
- 13:40Ron Meyers: They don't think it can ever happen to them.
- 13:42Ron Meyers: Would you give that listener some hope right now?
- 13:45Scotty McLeod: God is bigger than.
- 13:47Scotty McLeod: God is bigger than the big bang.
- 13:50Scotty McLeod: He's bigger than the big bomb, he's bigger than all our problems.
- 13:55Scotty McLeod: God is bigger than.
- 13:57Scotty McLeod: And you just gotta let him love you.
- 13:59Scotty McLeod: Get yourself out of the way.
- 14:01Scotty McLeod: It never was about us anyway.
- 14:03Scotty McLeod: It's about him.
- 14:04Scotty McLeod: And when we surrender our kingdom over to him and we start living in his kingdom, then he starts speaking to us, and our life starts transforming, and we become a light to other people.
- 14:17Scotty McLeod: We're no longer in darkness, and he just loves us.
- 14:20Ron Meyers: He loves the hell out of us.
- 14:22Ron Meyers: He sure does, he sure does, Scotty.
- 14:24Ron Meyers: And while you are, I am excited about your ministry.
- 14:28Ron Meyers: I'm excited that I have the pleasure, the honor to talk to someone like you that is in the trenches and you've learned from a legacy of grandfathers, fathers, and your mom, and all these people around you, and you just love the hell out of people.
- 14:43Ron Meyers: And isn't that all Jesus wants us to do?
- 14:46Ron Meyers: Because if was it, love brings a person to repentance?
- 14:50Ron Meyers: It's the love that draws people to Christ.
- 14:53Scotty McLeod: Yes, sir.
- 14:53Scotty McLeod: And uh actually, you know, you got to be attitudes.
- 14:56Scotty McLeod: Blessed are the poor in spirit, blessed are the poor, blessed are those when they mourn.
- 15:01Scotty McLeod: And that it turns everything the world thinks upside down.
- 15:04Scotty McLeod: So God uses the bad, he takes the cross and he makes makes it a plus.
- 15:10Scotty McLeod: He takes a minus and he makes it a plus.
- 15:12Scotty McLeod: When bad things happen to us, if they bring us back to God, then they're the greatest thing that ever could have happened to us.
- 15:21Scotty McLeod: I I never I never would have made it.
- 15:24Scotty McLeod: Like I had to go through all that.
- 15:25Scotty McLeod: The drugs, the jail, you know, I had to go through that to be able to get to a point to where I was willing to surrender to God.
- 15:35Scotty McLeod: Those bad things can can be good.
- 15:37Scotty McLeod: He uses them for the good.
- 15:39Scotty McLeod: Romans 8 28.
- 15:40Ron Meyers: Yeah, he sure does.
- 15:41Ron Meyers: For the listeners out there, tell them how they could find some information about our father's arms.
- 15:48Scotty McLeod: Our father's arms is in Jacksonville, Alabama.
- 15:51Scotty McLeod: We're on Facebook.
- 15:52Scotty McLeod: We're actually, we have a website that we're going to be updating pretty soon.
- 15:56Scotty McLeod: Or you can write us at 45 Pinewood Street, Jacksonville, Alabama, 36265.
- 16:03Scotty McLeod: Or you can write us at 389 Dogwood Lane, Jacksonville, Alabama, 36265.
- 16:10Ron Meyers: That's amazing.
- 16:11Ron Meyers: And it made me think that there might be somebody out there now that just wants to send a card or some encouragement to some of the folks that are there.
- 16:19Ron Meyers: And I'm sure you would love to have things like that, right?
- 16:22Ron Meyers: Amen.
- 16:23Ron Meyers: Well, that's that'd be wonderful.
- 16:25Ron Meyers: Hey, Scotty, tell us about your international ministry.
- 16:29Ron Meyers: You are doing work all over the world.
- 16:32Scotty McLeod: There's a preacher from Southampton, England, named Vic Jacobson.
- 16:36Scotty McLeod: And back in the 80s, when my dad first turned his life around, Vic was coming to this little country church once a year by the house.
- 16:44Scotty McLeod: And Daddy was fired up for Jesus, you know.
- 16:47Scotty McLeod: So he started calling Vic long distance over in England, and Vic was kind of his mentor.
- 16:52Scotty McLeod: And anyway, you know, Daddy wrote these songs, and Daddy's songs have played in England, Ukraine, but Vic and Daddy's friendship blossomed, and Vic ran a ministry out of Ukraine in England called Hope Now.
- 17:06Scotty McLeod: Well, Vic knows all these people in Ukraine.
- 17:10Scotty McLeod: So Daddy starts going over there and sharing and ministering to the people in Ukraine.
- 17:15Scotty McLeod: And him and Vic started working together.
- 17:17Scotty McLeod: So when Daddy passed away, Vic called me, and Vic became my mentor.
- 17:22Scotty McLeod: And we've ended up going to visit Ukraine before the war, visiting the orphanages there, and now we raise money to send the families of wounded soldiers.
- 17:32Scotty McLeod: And we still have a hand, a little church here by the house.
- 17:36Scotty McLeod: They helped build a church in Ukraine, Cherkassi, Ukraine.
- 17:40Scotty McLeod: And we just we just got stuff going all over.
- 17:43Ron Meyers: God's hands all in it.
- 17:44Ron Meyers: God's on the move.
- 17:45Ron Meyers: Scotty, the name of the show is Get the Hell Out of Your Life.
- 17:49Ron Meyers: And I want to ask you, how do you get the hell out of your life?
- 17:54Scotty McLeod: By surrendering all that you have, all that you are, and all that you hope to be into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- 18:05Ron Meyers: Amen.
- 18:05Ron Meyers: Now, as we conclude our conversation, would you close us out in a prayer to the listeners listening?
- 18:13Scotty McLeod: Yes, sir.
- 18:13Scotty McLeod: I would.
- 18:14Scotty McLeod: Lord, thank you for all you've done for us.
- 18:16Scotty McLeod: Thank you for loving us in spite of all we've done.
- 18:20Scotty McLeod: Thank you for loving us in spite of the sin that's in us, Lord.
- 18:25Scotty McLeod: Thank you for loving the hell out of us.
- 18:27Scotty McLeod: Lord, we thank you, we love you, and we praise you.
- 18:30Scotty McLeod: In Jesus' name.
- 18:32Scotty McLeod: Amen.
- 18:36Ron Meyers: Wow.
- 18:37Ron Meyers: Stories like that just don't inspire.
- 18:42Ron Meyers: They interrupt you.
- 18:43Ron Meyers: They make you stop and think.
- 18:45Ron Meyers: Wow, what about me?
- 18:46Ron Meyers: And here are some things I want you to take away from Scotty's story.
- 18:52Ron Meyers: Number one, you can't outrun Grace.
- 18:54Ron Meyers: Scotty didn't clean himself up and then find God.
- 18:57Ron Meyers: He hit bottom hard and God was already there.
- 19:00Ron Meyers: That means your worst moment doesn't disqualify you.
- 19:04Ron Meyers: It might actually be where your story begins.
- 19:08Ron Meyers: Number two, surrender beats willpower.
- 19:12Ron Meyers: We've been taught try harder, do better, fix yourself up.
- 19:16Ron Meyers: But Scotty's life proves something different.
- 19:20Ron Meyers: The breakthrough didn't come when he got stronger.
- 19:23Ron Meyers: It came when he gave up control.
- 19:25Ron Meyers: Surrender isn't losing, it's finally winning the right fight.
- 19:30Ron Meyers: Number three, legacy lives on through action.
- 19:33Ron Meyers: His father didn't just talk about faith, he lived it.
- 19:37Ron Meyers: And even in death, while serving others, that legacy kept speaking.
- 19:43Ron Meyers: Now Scotty is carrying that forward through broken stone ministries, our father's arms, men's homes, prison re-entry, and a free medical clinic.
- 19:54Ron Meyers: That's not religion.
- 19:56Ron Meyers: That's love in motion.
- 19:58Ron Meyers: Number four, one act of love can change everything.
- 20:03Ron Meyers: The man in the lawnmower shed, don't miss that.
- 20:07Ron Meyers: One ride, one opportunity, and one person who cared.
- 20:12Ron Meyers: And now a father restored, a daughter reunited, a family rebuilt.
- 20:19Ron Meyers: You never know, my friend, what is on the other side of one yes.
- 20:24Ron Meyers: And number five, trust is a daily discipline.
- 20:28Ron Meyers: Scotty talked about leading without chasing money.
- 20:32Ron Meyers: Now that takes faith because fear will always whisper, what if it doesn't work?
- 20:39Ron Meyers: But trust says confidently, God didn't bring me this far to leave me now.
- 20:46Ron Meyers: Friends, he will never leave you.
- 20:49Ron Meyers: And when I return, we'll close out the show with some encouragement for the upcoming week.

- 22:08Speaker 4: An ordinary imperfect guy, that Willie Ames.
- 22:10Speaker 4: But despite his imperfections, he's got something really going for him.
- 22:14Speaker 4: The guy loves God a lot.
- 22:15Speaker 4: He loves to study the word, he loves his family, and he loves to praise the Lord.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Boy, does he love to praise the Lord.
- 22:22Speaker 4: It goes to show that God isn't looking for perfect people to follow him.
- 22:27Speaker 4: He just needs people who love him with all their heart.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Someone who has a heart for God is more pleasing to God than someone who looks squeaky clean but has no real passion for God.
- 22:35Speaker 4: The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins.
- 22:40Speaker 4: So get the love part done.
- 22:42Speaker 4: God can cover all the other little imperfections.
- 23:12unknown: Get the hell out of your life.
- 23:15Ron Meyers: So let me ask you something.
- 23:16Ron Meyers: What part of your life are you still trying to control?
- 23:20Ron Meyers: That God is asking you to surrender?
- 23:23Ron Meyers: Because here's the truth, my friend.
- 23:25Ron Meyers: You don't need a coughing moment to wake up.
- 23:28Ron Meyers: You don't have to lose everything to find your purpose.
- 23:32Ron Meyers: You don't have to hit rock bottom to start a brand new life.
- 23:37Ron Meyers: You just have to respond.
- 23:40Ron Meyers: Right now, not someday, not when it's convenient, right now.
- 23:45Ron Meyers: And maybe you're listening thinking, Ron, I've gone too far.
- 23:50Ron Meyers: No, you haven't.
- 23:52Ron Meyers: If Scotty can go from addiction to jail to homelessness to helping others find freedom, then your story isn't over.
- 23:59Ron Meyers: Not even close to being over.
- 24:02Ron Meyers: And if this episode spoke to you, don't keep it to yourself.
- 24:06Ron Meyers: Share it with someone who needs hope.
- 24:08Ron Meyers: Send it to someone who feels stuck.
- 24:11Ron Meyers: Be the reason someone else hears this message.
- 24:14Ron Meyers: Because friends, we're all in this together, encouraging, empowering, and inspiring people to discover their God ordained destiny.
- 24:26Ron Meyers: And I'll leave you with this what line, what moment, what truth from today are you going to pass on?
- 24:35Ron Meyers: Let's take a moment and pray.
- 24:39Ron Meyers: God, some of us are tired, tired of trying to hold it all together, tired of carrying things we were never meant to carry, tired of pretending we're okay when we're not.
- 24:50Ron Meyers: And maybe for the first time in a long time, we're being honest.
- 24:56Ron Meyers: God, you see every person listening right now.
- 24:59Ron Meyers: You see the one who feels too far gone, the one who feels forgotten to the one who's one step away from giving up.
- 25:09Ron Meyers: And I ask you right now, meet them, not with judgment, not with shame, but your beautiful, extravagant grace.
- 25:16Ron Meyers: Remind them they are not disqualified, they are not alone, and they are not finished.
- 25:24Ron Meyers: God, give them the courage to stop trying to fix everything on their own and the strength to surrender, not as a last resort, but as a first step towards freedom.
- 25:37Ron Meyers: Heal what's broken, restore what's been lost, and begin something new today.
- 25:43Ron Meyers: And God, just like Scotty's story, take the mess, take the pain, take the past, and turn it into purpose.
- 25:51Ron Meyers: We trust you even when we don't understand, even when we're afraid.
- 25:57Ron Meyers: And we all say this together.
- 26:00Ron Meyers: Amen.
- 26:01Ron Meyers: Now, my friend, if that prayer meant something to you, hold on to it.
- 26:06Ron Meyers: Don't walk your life out alone.
- 26:08Ron Meyers: Invite Jesus to walk with you.
- 26:12Ron Meyers: This is Ron Myers reminding you don't live on the island of regrets with villages called should've, would've, and could've.
- 26:21Ron Meyers: It's never too late, my friend, for a new beginning.
- 26:24Ron Meyers: Why do you think you're listening today?
