10/7/22 William Astore: There’s Something Rotten in the US Military
Scott talks with William Astore about an article he penned recently in TomDispatch about the inner rot plaguing today’s U.S. military. Astore, who served as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force, has observed an existential flaw that threatens the military from within — lies are rewarded while truthtellers are punished. In this interview, he and Scott take a step back and examine how this sprawling government bureaucracy has hijacked the noble instinct to protect one's community and used it to wage unjust wars of choice.
