- 0:00SPEAKER_00: In my head, the female is the cleaner sex, if you will, okay?
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: And uh but it it's not working out like that in my house.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: So Gavin is the one that really he likes things the way that it is.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: If last night he was cleaning the toothpaste lids with q-tips.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, this is amazing! I already hates when that thing gets going.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: I told you, Gavin's my golden child.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: He really hates when that thing gets unwacked.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I do, I do.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: So I'm putting the cap on backwards, Dad.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: I do love it.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: I do love Lydia.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: It was just that Gavin was always in the studio when he was very young.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: So I just got so attached to Gavin.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: So I always joke that like he's like my little golden child.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Well, he likes things the way he likes them.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: That's why I like him.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Lydia's the more free-spirited, you know, kind of like, it's like a water pad when she's in the bathroom, you know?
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Um and the reason this really hit me yesterday.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Now, keep in mind, I don't want one person to throw in my face, well, isn't it a different story, Scott, when you go clean the house compared to when Tiffany does.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I have helped with cleaning the house.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Normally I disappear for two hours and come back and mop the floors, but that's here nor there.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: If you're Murphy oiling the cabinets, I think you're doing pretty well.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: It was one of these days where I'm like, I really want to dig deep into this, but she wasn't feeling good.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: I'm not about to get her involved in it.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I'm like, well, you know what?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: It needs to get done.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I'll handle it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So back to Lydia.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I get to the bathroom, and now this is post the cleaning, right?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: So I've had both kids in there separately, and I'm like, Gavin, you you gotta keep it looking good because And he gets off the Q-tips.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: And he's yeah, cleaning the top of the crest with q-tips.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you're not.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Then he does the baseboards.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And yeah.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And then uh, and Lydia, I'm like, no, listen.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And the teeth are together, listen.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Don't you spit up the mirror, at least give me two days.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So even Tiffany texted me, and this is my fear.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So Jules and Kayleigh, there's the three sisters.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Jules and Kaylee, they were the clean ones.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Um Did you say those are the three sisters, but you only named two?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Brie was the dirty one, and at 22 still is.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And that's what I'm like, I don't know if you're sorry, Bree, if you're listening.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you're going to ever see a change, but we have some really, really good text messages on this.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna start from the bottom.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I thought it was like 15.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Like when girls start to go, hmm, um, my surroundings.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Because Lydia doesn't know her surroundings to save her ass.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: God love her.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Well, wait till you hear these text messages.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: That's great.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, happy Monday.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: So, mom of a 13-year-old girl, 14-year-old girl, and 18-year-old girl.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And nope, it does not get better.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: I have to also grit my teeth and point things out to them and what to do.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I do assign them chores, and if they don't get them done, they're just gonna pile up because we should not be doing uh we should not be doing them.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Anyway, what they should be doing for themselves, we have to teach them by example.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: I think Scott, it sounds like you do a very good job of teaching by example.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: If you ask Tiffany, I do way too much for them.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So, yes, you're teaching by example by doing a good job cleaning, but you don't need to always do it for them.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, so I need to drag her in and be like, this is with the teeth together.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: This is Windex.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And Windex gets sprayed here to clean off your crud.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Have her start doing Windexing of the the um windows.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: With which maybe that'll work.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, here's one.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Windows! Now we're doing the windows to the house?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I was just thinking the mirror and the bathroom.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Both.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Why not?
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: They do need to get done too.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: 7844.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: My 15-year-old cleaned her room last night before bed.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: I checked on it after she left for school.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: It's already like a tornado went through.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Ah, the girl.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'd say teenage years definitely made me start picking up more.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: This is Kaylee.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: I realized it made my day easier if I picked up after each task.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Okay, so you were in your teen years and it hit you.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: It just hit you.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: As a teenager, you want to impress your friends when they come over too.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: But as an adult, I feel we sometimes get in a mental slump too.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So good luck.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, they're I love how they end with good luck.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Good luck.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Uh, then wait, wait, this one.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And this is interesting.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: You're not registered.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I see a username, but you missed a bunch of information.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: So go back and and make sure you have all your info.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Uh, I was a tomboy growing up and a complete slob.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: I think it took me until mid-20s to be neater.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And wait, this one.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: My daughter is turning 20.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: In her case, her cleaning skills have not increased.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I thought it would.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So all over the road.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: I thought I feel like there's a theme though.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Not a lot of increase.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Anyway, I thought it would when she moved out on her own, but the answer is nope.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: It absolutely did not get better.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Well, I can honestly say I feel the exact same way I did going into this.
- 4:39unknown: Yep.
