- 0:11Speaker 1: All right, everyone, welcome to today's episode. You've probably noticed
- 0:16Speaker 1: that this episode is kind of titled as like Day
- 0:19Speaker 1: one or five, because what I'm going to be doing
- 0:22Speaker 1: over the next five days is I just wanted to
- 0:24Speaker 1: do like a mini series Monday to Friday, shorter episodes
- 0:29Speaker 1: on kind of how to you know, do a mental
- 0:32Speaker 1: reset to gain control of your life again. Before I proceed,
- 0:36Speaker 1: if you guys hear banging and clanking and all of
- 0:39Speaker 1: the above, I apologize, I'm hoping it's not coming through
- 0:41Speaker 1: my mic. But today's the day that people within my
- 0:45Speaker 1: building where my office studio setup is have decided to
- 0:49Speaker 1: move and they're moving on like a very like it
- 0:52Speaker 1: feels like it's like a metal aluminium giant tin and
- 0:56Speaker 1: they're just slamming everything on it.
- 0:57Speaker 2: So bear with me.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Anyway, We're going to be talking about research backed ideas
- 1:03Speaker 1: that are going to make you feel like you can
- 1:05Speaker 1: get on top of your game again, that you can
- 1:08Speaker 1: really get that mental reset that you need. If you
- 1:11Speaker 1: listened to my kind of Unbothered and Thriving episode at
- 1:15Speaker 1: the start of the year, and then all the fourteen
- 1:17Speaker 1: episodes prior to that, or the ten episodes prior to
- 1:19Speaker 1: that I think it was to kind of like get
- 1:21Speaker 1: yourself in the right mindset for the year, and that
- 1:23Speaker 1: you kind of hit.
- 1:24Speaker 2: The ground running. You were feeling really good.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Now it's gotten to the point where now in April
- 1:28Speaker 1: and you're thinking, I feel like all of that's gone
- 1:31Speaker 1: out the window. I feel like I'm a bit of
- 1:32Speaker 1: a rut. I feel like things just aren't working for me.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I feel stuck, I feel flat, I feel demotivated. When
- 1:38Speaker 1: I try and work towards my goals, it's almost less
- 1:41Speaker 1: motivating because nothing's really working for me. Okay, So if
- 1:45Speaker 1: that's how you feel, then this five day little mental
- 1:48Speaker 1: reset and you know you're regaining control of your mind
- 1:52Speaker 1: will hopefully hit you right between the eyes and get
- 1:55Speaker 1: you where.
- 1:56Speaker 2: You need to be.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So let's dive straight into it this particular. So I'm
- 2:02Speaker 1: going to actually tell you what the five days are
- 2:04Speaker 1: going to be about so you can get excited.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So the first day today, we're going to be talking about.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Acknowledging, how to zoom out, how to regain perspective, how
- 2:13Speaker 1: to kind of reassess, redirect, reprogram everything that we're working
- 2:17Speaker 1: on in our life. Number two, or tomorrow Tuesday, is
- 2:21Speaker 1: going to be about retraining our thoughts, retraining our brain,
- 2:26Speaker 1: re kind of re establishing what it is that is
- 2:29Speaker 1: going to make us feel really good, and how to
- 2:32Speaker 1: reapproach goal setting and working on our goals, because if
- 2:36Speaker 1: you're somebody that is like set on you know, like
- 2:40Speaker 1: you had all these goals but it just nothing was
- 2:42Speaker 1: really happening, then often what happens is your goals end
- 2:44Speaker 1: up becoming a source of resistance. The thing that you
- 2:47Speaker 1: love the most actually gives you the most anxiety because
- 2:50Speaker 1: you're coming up against this wall. And then what started
- 2:53Speaker 1: off as desire feels like desperation and you feel like
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're pushing it away more than you're pulling it in.
- 2:58Speaker 1: That's what we're talking about tomorrow, Day three. We're talking
- 3:01Speaker 1: about how we're fueling our brain for this mental reset
- 3:05Speaker 1: and for happiness. And I'm talking about how we're fueling
- 3:07Speaker 1: our brain emotionally, physically, and chemically. And we're going to
- 3:11Speaker 1: talk about some tips that you can do on a
- 3:13Speaker 1: daily basis that's pretty much within the resources that you
- 3:16Speaker 1: already have. Now it's free for the most part, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: it's going to make you really notice a difference when
- 3:22Speaker 1: you change how you fuel your brain with these tiny,
- 3:24Speaker 1: tiny tweaks. Day four on Thursday, we're talking about three
- 3:28Speaker 1: steps that you're going to implement every single day moving forward,
- 3:32Speaker 1: easy steps, free and again they don't take long, but
- 3:37Speaker 1: it will actually transform, you know, if you do it
- 3:40Speaker 1: consistently enough. It doesn't even have to be done every day,
- 3:43Speaker 1: but just doing it consistently enough, it's going to transform
- 3:45Speaker 1: how you approach your day, how you stay on track,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and how you stay feeling light and good and happy
- 3:50Speaker 1: about these things. And just you know, we just I
- 3:54Speaker 1: think we've all experienced it that the lighter and happier
- 3:56Speaker 1: we are when we're setting our goals, when we're working
- 3:58Speaker 1: towards our goals with person, where it feels good and
- 4:01Speaker 1: it doesn't feel like I'm desperate and pushing against it,
- 4:04Speaker 1: that's when things start to fall into place for us.
- 4:06Speaker 2: So we're going to get back into that mental zone.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And then the fifth day, number five, we're talking about
- 4:11Speaker 1: how we're dealing with and processing daily setbacks so it
- 4:14Speaker 1: doesn't take us back to square one. It's kind of like,
- 4:17Speaker 1: how do we take a challenge and take something in
- 4:20Speaker 1: our stride?
- 4:20Speaker 2: We missed the day, what do we do? You know,
- 4:22Speaker 2: the ball dropped. How do we approach it?
- 4:24Speaker 1: How do we can you know, maintain this consistency throughout
- 4:27Speaker 1: even when you've got you know, roadblocks and lags and
- 4:31Speaker 1: all of that, And how do you stay on track
- 4:32Speaker 1: and feel good about staying on tracks. So that's going
- 4:35Speaker 1: to be day five, Okay, So I hope you're fucking pumped.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I hope you're pumped for the following five days.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Get your fucking notebooks out and get ready. Okay, So
- 4:45Speaker 1: for day one, the first thing that I want you
- 4:47Speaker 1: to do is to acknowledge where you are at now.
- 4:51Speaker 1: This may require some homework of writing things down, or
- 4:54Speaker 1: you may be like, I know exactly where the fuck
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm at, I know exactly what's going on what's not
- 4:58Speaker 1: working for me. But I want you to acknowledge right
- 5:00Speaker 1: now what is working against you. A lot of it's
- 5:04Speaker 1: going to be internally, like you working against yourself, and
- 5:07Speaker 1: then certain things in your environment that that's just not
- 5:09Speaker 1: working the way you thought it would be working when
- 5:11Speaker 1: you set your new resolutions. I'm using January as the example,
- 5:15Speaker 1: but it could be whenever you started this goal. It
- 5:17Speaker 1: could be a year ago whatever, Okay, but it's where
- 5:19Speaker 1: you kind of feel now stuck. Where is this stuck
- 5:23Speaker 1: feeling coming from?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Is that career? Is it relationships? Is it in my
- 5:26Speaker 2: physical health? Is it like? Where is it okay?
- 5:29Speaker 1: What is the thing that's not going my way? Where
- 5:32Speaker 1: do I feel that it's dragging me down? You have
- 5:36Speaker 1: to identify this, because I can guarantee you if you
- 5:38Speaker 1: don't sit and identify it, things are going to be
- 5:41Speaker 1: dragged down in multiple areas of your life. But if
- 5:43Speaker 1: you were able to identify and compartmentalize where it originated from,
- 5:48Speaker 1: it doesn't have to bleed into all the other areas
- 5:51Speaker 1: of your life. The same goes for anxiety. If we
- 5:53Speaker 1: don't identify what was kind of causing the anxiety or
- 5:56Speaker 1: what was the trigger for anxiety, it ends up bleeding
- 5:59Speaker 1: into all the other areas of our life. We lack
- 6:01Speaker 1: perspective on our life and it ends up being all
- 6:04Speaker 1: encompassing and taking over our mind.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I've been there, You've probably been there.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Many of us have been there, and it's just like,
- 6:10Speaker 1: oh my god, now I feel like I'm really struggling
- 6:12Speaker 1: to function on a day to day basis. The same
- 6:14Speaker 1: thing happens, So identify where is this stemming from?
- 6:19Speaker 2: What's not working? For me and why? Okay?
- 6:22Speaker 1: Another thing that I want you to do Step two
- 6:25Speaker 1: is I want you to identify what are your thoughts, beliefs, statements,
- 6:29Speaker 1: and languages around how things are going for you?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay? Are you in this negative rut? You know? Your
- 6:36Speaker 2: focus for your goals?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Have they gone out the window? And if so, what
- 6:40Speaker 1: is your language around those goals. For example, let's say
- 6:43Speaker 1: you started the year red hot thinking I'm launching a podcast.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I'm launching a podcast. I'm really excited. I'm like, I've
- 6:49Speaker 1: set all these goals. And then you launch it and
- 6:53Speaker 1: you don't get any listeners. And then you have the
- 6:55Speaker 1: next week and you don't get in anything.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You don't and you don't, you don't.
- 6:58Speaker 1: After about two months, no matter how positive you are,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you're going to start to feel like, oh, for Fox's sake,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Like now, every time I sit down to record a podcast,
- 7:06Speaker 1: the energy that I'm bringing to the table is not
- 7:08Speaker 1: the same energy I had in January. Okay, And I'm
- 7:11Speaker 1: sure that this can you can you can apply this
- 7:13Speaker 1: to any goal that you're working on where it feels
- 7:15Speaker 1: that you've hit a wall. Okay, So then what has
- 7:19Speaker 1: your language turned into? Is it like, oh, I've got
- 7:21Speaker 1: to record a podcast. Do I even bother? Why should
- 7:24Speaker 1: I bother? It's probably not really going to work out
- 7:26Speaker 1: for me. Should I be doing something else? This is
- 7:28Speaker 1: kind of a waste. I'm kind of embarrassed. Now, identify
- 7:31Speaker 1: all those languages, Identify all that shit.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Where's this coming from? What is my language?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Because one thing could be oh, yep, it's coming from
- 7:39Speaker 1: the fact that I'm looking at the data and my
- 7:41Speaker 1: audience just isn't growing the way that I want it
- 7:42Speaker 1: to grow.
- 7:43Speaker 2: But also you could be.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Like, am I exacerbating it and bringing in an even
- 7:47Speaker 1: worse energy because of this? Am I less likely to
- 7:49Speaker 1: put myself out there? Am I less likely to try
- 7:51Speaker 1: network and to get excited and to share my work
- 7:54Speaker 1: because of the fact that I'm feeling shit about it?
- 7:56Speaker 1: So it's like one thing feeds the other. And I'm
- 7:58Speaker 1: using this as an example again. It could be your
- 8:00Speaker 1: wellness journey, it could be your relationships, it could be anything. Okay,
- 8:05Speaker 1: so let's identify all these languages that we have around it,
- 8:11Speaker 1: the beliefs that we have around it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Since since.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Now, the next thing that I want you to do
- 8:35Speaker 1: is I want you to zoom out. Now I've shared
- 8:39Speaker 1: this anecdote I think with you guys in the past,
- 8:41Speaker 1: but I'm going to share it again. But it's basically
- 8:43Speaker 1: this concept of gaining perspective when you feel shit in
- 8:47Speaker 1: life about something that's happened, a roadblock, you know, like
- 8:51Speaker 1: a huge you know, maybe something unexpected, maybe you got fired,
- 8:54Speaker 1: maybe whatever it is you feel in the blank. When
- 8:56Speaker 1: you're feeling this way, it is very easy for it
- 8:59Speaker 1: to be all encompassing and it feels like you are spiraling.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Things are not going to work for you, and your
- 9:05Speaker 1: mind just takes over. We need to take over our
- 9:08Speaker 1: mind again. We need to take the reins back, take
- 9:10Speaker 1: the control back, and say I am allowed to feel
- 9:12Speaker 1: shit about this, but I Am not going to let
- 9:15Speaker 1: my mind spiral in every area of my life. And
- 9:18Speaker 1: this is where zooming out comes in perfectly. Okay, So
- 9:22Speaker 1: for me I as you guys, if for my long
- 9:27Speaker 1: time term listeners, you guys know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But for any new beans that have stumbled across this podcast,
- 9:33Speaker 1: about two years ago, I had a contractual dispute.
- 9:36Speaker 2: There was all these issues.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Without going into any details, it culminated in my podcast
- 9:42Speaker 1: temporarily being taken down and me not kind of knowing
- 9:45Speaker 1: what was going to happen income wise, and it was
- 9:47Speaker 1: an extremely stressful.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Time for me.
- 9:50Speaker 1: It went from me potentially having the greatest opportunity so
- 9:54Speaker 1: far in my podcasting career to being ripped away and
- 9:57Speaker 1: not only that, but then having the podcast being taken
- 9:59Speaker 1: down for you know, until we could sort something out contractually.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So it was horrible, and I was spiraling. I was
- 10:07Speaker 1: spiraling me like the mindset coach the neuroscientists, the one
- 10:10Speaker 1: who I was spiraling. And I remember like snapping at
- 10:14Speaker 1: Tyrone and just being so negative, and I was like,
- 10:16Speaker 1: oh my god, I just need to need to snap
- 10:18Speaker 1: out of this. So then my zooming out was I
- 10:22Speaker 1: went away for the weekend. I barely looked at my phone.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I did not open any emails. I did not like
- 10:28Speaker 1: text anyone nothing, no calls, nothing, no social media. And
- 10:30Speaker 1: I went away for the weekend just to my auntie
- 10:33Speaker 1: and uncle's place, and all the all my cousins were
- 10:36Speaker 1: there and all we.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Did was do puzzles, watch rom coms, and cook.
- 10:40Speaker 1: That's all we did, okay, And then like we all
- 10:42Speaker 1: slept in the same room and kind of like had
- 10:44Speaker 1: sleepovers and would talk until we all fell asleep. Like
- 10:47Speaker 1: that kind of energy that zooming out allowed me to
- 10:52Speaker 1: realize all the other things that are actually working for
- 10:55Speaker 1: me in my life. When I was so fixated on
- 10:57Speaker 1: this one thing, which was Korea, and it felt like
- 10:59Speaker 1: my career was falling apart, it kind of felt like
- 11:01Speaker 1: I couldn't find happiness in any other area, and it
- 11:04Speaker 1: was causing me to not be able to problem solve
- 11:07Speaker 1: in a better way. When you think that your life
- 11:10Speaker 1: is doomed, you stop problem solving. When you zoom out
- 11:15Speaker 1: and think, Okay, yeah, this is actually fucked. I can
- 11:18Speaker 1: acknowledge that it's fucked. But I'm zooming out and I'm
- 11:21Speaker 1: looking at Okay, I'm actually I've got my health. I've
- 11:24Speaker 1: got my health, I've got you know, these people around me,
- 11:27Speaker 1: I actually, you know, really enjoy doing these activities. There's
- 11:30Speaker 1: all these little pockets, you know, of my day that
- 11:33Speaker 1: bring me real joy, you know, talking to people that
- 11:36Speaker 1: I love, cooking a beautiful meal, sitting down around you know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: with people not having technology, the freedom of just not
- 11:42Speaker 1: having my phone for the weekend, all these little things.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I started thinking, you know what, It's not all doom
- 11:48Speaker 1: and gloom. I can still the fact that this is
- 11:51Speaker 1: happening with my career. Nothing's changed.
- 11:53Speaker 2: It's still equally as fucked.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I've not done anything to fix it, but I already
- 11:56Speaker 1: feel so much better because I've given myself a bit
- 11:58Speaker 1: of perspective in the skin of my life, is this
- 12:02Speaker 1: actually my life is fucked?
- 12:03Speaker 2: In the scheme of my life? No, it's not.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And then because of this zooming out, I then stopped catastrophizing.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I started thinking, Okay, let's now work with what we've got.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Now that I've zoomed out, this is the situation. If
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm catastrophizing and spiraling, I'm not going to be a
- 12:22Speaker 1: problem solver.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's impossible. I can't do the two things at once.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So I need to get out of this spiral and
- 12:26Speaker 1: think it is what it is. What's done is done.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Now let's work with what we've got. Okay, what could
- 12:32Speaker 1: I potentially do moving forward? What are the steps that
- 12:36Speaker 1: I could do to kind of repair or mend to
- 12:38Speaker 1: this situation.
- 12:39Speaker 2: What are things I can get excited.
- 12:40Speaker 1: About about the future in my career, whether it be
- 12:43Speaker 1: podcasting or other things. What are the projects that I
- 12:45Speaker 1: can be working on where I feel really good and
- 12:47Speaker 1: I'm putting my skills to use. Okay, So that zooming
- 12:50Speaker 1: out already gave me this perspective of like, oh my god,
- 12:53Speaker 1: you know, I'm looking at the bigger picture. There are
- 12:55Speaker 1: things that I can get excited about. My creativity is
- 12:57Speaker 1: going to go out the window if I spiral, But
- 13:00Speaker 1: my creativity can be my saving grace if I put
- 13:04Speaker 1: stuff into perspective in the scheme of my life. Okay,
- 13:06Speaker 1: So that's what I mean about zooming out. The next
- 13:09Speaker 1: thing you're going to do is and this kind of
- 13:10Speaker 1: goes with zooming out, but it's identify the cock blocks
- 13:14Speaker 1: that are within your control, not the things that are
- 13:17Speaker 1: not within your control. Because we're already aware that there's
- 13:20Speaker 1: plenty of those. That's life, that's what I call life,
- 13:23Speaker 1: shit that's not in your control, and how we approach it,
- 13:25Speaker 1: how we deal with it. But we are talking about
- 13:27Speaker 1: what is in your control and how are you cock
- 13:31Speaker 1: blocking yourself. So the basic ones are like procrastinating, avoidance patterns, beliefs, setbacks,
- 13:37Speaker 1: fear of trying again, fear of embarrassment, overloading your plate
- 13:41Speaker 1: so that way you never get to the important things.
- 13:44Speaker 1: You know, not not prioritizing your tasks, properly wasting time,
- 13:48Speaker 1: genuinely wasting time, probably because you're procrastinating overdoing things that
- 13:54Speaker 1: you don't want to do, saying yes, bedrotting. All of
- 13:57Speaker 1: these things are potential cock blocks. Okay, fear is a
- 14:00Speaker 1: big one, you know, like I could be doing that,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but I'll just retreat back. But what are your cock
- 14:05Speaker 1: blocks that weren't there when you first set out to
- 14:09Speaker 1: do this thing? So when everything was peachy, when you
- 14:12Speaker 1: were in the honeymoon stage, if your ideas or your goals,
- 14:15Speaker 1: or where your life was headed when you were doing
- 14:16Speaker 1: the vision board listening to my episodes at the end
- 14:19Speaker 1: of the year, you're putting all these things into practice.
- 14:22Speaker 1: What weren't you doing then that got you really excited
- 14:26Speaker 1: that now has cropped up? Okay, what avoidance patterns? What
- 14:29Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 14:30Speaker 2: And then ask yourself, Okay, why has this cropped up?
- 14:33Speaker 1: And a lot of the time you're going to realize
- 14:35Speaker 1: the reason this has cropped up is because I have,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, like my mindset around this thing has changed.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I feel negative towards it. I feel like a failure,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I feel like nothing's happening. I am stuck in my life.
- 14:46Speaker 1: And because of that I am then avoiding, procrastinating, bed rotting,
- 14:50Speaker 1: doing all these things. Okay, Now what we're going to
- 14:54Speaker 1: do is number one, two, three, four is reassess current
- 15:00Speaker 1: what's working for you and what's not working for you? Okay,
- 15:03Speaker 1: since January, what has worked for me? That's more important
- 15:07Speaker 1: than what hasn't worked for you. I want you to
- 15:09Speaker 1: lean in heavily into what has worked for me. Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: so I'm going to look at well, I actually started
- 15:16Speaker 1: something that I hadn't started before, so that's working for me.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I actually learned this stuff about, you know, like how
- 15:22Speaker 1: to do this new task. I actually put myself out
- 15:24Speaker 1: a little bit more. I actually did this, actually did that.
- 15:27Speaker 1: My mornings are a bit better. So you start to
- 15:29Speaker 1: acknowledge all the things that are working for you that
- 15:32Speaker 1: you want to keep and bring forward. Then you're going
- 15:35Speaker 1: to acknowledge the things that aren't really working for you. Well,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I probably waste too much time doing this, or I
- 15:40Speaker 1: noticed that I spend way too much time, you know,
- 15:42Speaker 1: looking at the details of this, and that's what actually
- 15:45Speaker 1: causes me that doesn't work for me, because no matter
- 15:48Speaker 1: how much I assess the data, I actually don't feel good.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So I need to stop doing that or maybe it's
- 15:52Speaker 1: you know, whatever it is, but you've got to look
- 15:55Speaker 1: at your behaviors being like what's worked, what doesn't, and
- 15:57Speaker 1: the things that work. I want you to rehash them,
- 16:00Speaker 1: want you to think about, Yeah, that route was really good.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Can I do more of it? Or is it perfect
- 16:04Speaker 2: as it is?
- 16:04Speaker 1: How could I tweak it so it's even better? How
- 16:07Speaker 1: can I do more of this kind of stuff so
- 16:09Speaker 1: I feel good? Really lean into what works, and ideally
- 16:13Speaker 1: I want those things that are what works to be
- 16:15Speaker 1: relatively new things that you brought into your habits and
- 16:18Speaker 1: your lifestyle. So you know, since January, since you know,
- 16:21Speaker 1: since last year, something that's relatively new where you put
- 16:24Speaker 1: in the positive change and you're seeing a positive outcome.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It might not feel like it's a huge impact on
- 16:30Speaker 1: your life, but whatever it is, you know, just grab
- 16:33Speaker 1: onto what you can grab onto it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: You're going to start to feel better.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Okay, once we have all of that, then we're going
- 16:39Speaker 1: to look at redirecting.
- 16:40Speaker 2: We're going to make cuts, We're going to.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Make changes, and we're going to be focusing on you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: less is more, and what I mean by cuts is
- 16:49Speaker 1: you've got it. For example, when I said, you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: bedrotting our use of social media? Are we wasting our time?
- 16:56Speaker 1: Are we spreading ourselves too thin? I'm working on ten
- 16:58Speaker 1: projects and I feel shit about ten of them. What
- 17:00Speaker 1: if I was to, you know, dwindle it down to
- 17:03Speaker 1: just three, feel good about the three, and then I
- 17:06Speaker 1: can start including all the other projects that I wanted
- 17:08Speaker 1: to work on. You know, maybe I need to reassess
- 17:10Speaker 1: my approach to things, not my goals, not the ultimate
- 17:14Speaker 1: goal that I have, but reassess how I get there.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Maybe my strategy is flawed, but I can still have
- 17:20Speaker 1: the same desire. I'm not saying, you know, want less,
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know, set the bar lower.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'm not saying that.
- 17:26Speaker 1: At all, But I'm saying, sometimes we need to kind
- 17:29Speaker 1: of redirect how we get somewhere. Okay, And for me,
- 17:34Speaker 1: the best way to redirect is to eliminate, eliminate, eliminate, eliminate, eliminate.
- 17:39Speaker 2: What can I cut out?
- 17:41Speaker 1: I need to start saying no a bit more often.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I need to stop letting things bother me. Like let's
- 17:45Speaker 1: say there's a colleague that bothers me. Am I giving
- 17:47Speaker 1: too much airtime? Why am I thinking so much about this?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Fucking coworker that does my head in how do I
- 17:53Speaker 1: find a way of redirecting putting my energy somewhere else?
- 17:55Speaker 1: How do I find a way of being like I'm
- 17:57Speaker 1: at peace with the fact that I just don't like
- 17:59Speaker 1: this person? And then my head, how do I know
- 18:03Speaker 1: edit my usage of social media time? How do I
- 18:06Speaker 1: start to eliminate the things that aren't working for me
- 18:09Speaker 1: and redirect my mind to the things that are working
- 18:12Speaker 1: for me?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Okay?
- 18:13Speaker 1: And then lastly, we're talking about reprogramming. So this is
- 18:18Speaker 1: setting yourself up mentally for how you are going to
- 18:22Speaker 1: perceive how things, how you're going to determine the energy
- 18:25Speaker 1: that you're going to bring to the table. Okay, So
- 18:28Speaker 1: you're going to learn way more about this in the
- 18:30Speaker 1: following days to come. But I want you to write
- 18:33Speaker 1: this down of reprogram How am I going to begin
- 18:36Speaker 1: to reprogram my mind so I can approach my life
- 18:40Speaker 1: the goals that I had set for myself the rest
- 18:43Speaker 1: of twenty twenty five in the most lighthearted, happiest optimistic
- 18:49Speaker 1: for feeling way possible. Okay, Because a lot of the time,
- 18:52Speaker 1: the things that are stopping us from getting what we
- 18:54Speaker 1: want is purely our mindset around it if I feel anxious, shit,
- 18:59Speaker 1: if I feel flat, if I feel you know, unaccomplished,
- 19:02Speaker 1: how I approach that same thing is going to be
- 19:04Speaker 1: very different. So when I have bouts of things not
- 19:07Speaker 1: going well in the podcast, for me, I know that
- 19:09Speaker 1: the episodes just aren't as great as when I'm feeling
- 19:12Speaker 1: really fucking good about the podcast. It's just how it is,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and that's just how all of that like kind of
- 19:18Speaker 1: unfolds for us. So let's go over the main points
- 19:20Speaker 1: of this episode, and then we're going to explain a
- 19:23Speaker 1: little bit more about what's going to happen tomorrow, where
- 19:25Speaker 1: I'm actually going to be talking about how to really
- 19:27Speaker 1: start reprogramming your mind. Okay, that's the focus of tomorrow,
- 19:31Speaker 1: retraining the brain, reassessing kind of where we're at. So
- 19:35Speaker 1: we approach our goals completely differently in a very excited way.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So remember the.
- 19:39Speaker 1: First one was we are acknowledging what is going on,
- 19:43Speaker 1: what are the feelings, what are the emotions, what's cropping up?
- 19:46Speaker 1: We are identifying the statements, the language, you know, the
- 19:49Speaker 1: beliefs around it. Write it all down if you can.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Then we're going to do the zooming.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Out exercise that I told you about. Then we're going
- 19:55Speaker 1: to identify the cock blocks, your cock blocks that are
- 19:58Speaker 1: getting in your way that are within your control. So basically,
- 20:02Speaker 1: what are you doing to yourself to block yourself emotionally, mentally, physically, whatever.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Then we're going to reassess what has worked for you
- 20:09Speaker 1: since you set the goals, what hasn't worked for you.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Then we're going to redirect how can we do more
- 20:14Speaker 1: of what did work for me? And how can we
- 20:15Speaker 1: cut out eliminate the things that aren't. And then we're
- 20:19Speaker 1: going to reprogram. Start the reprogram. We're going to action
- 20:22Speaker 1: that tomorrow a bit more. But it's kind of start
- 20:24Speaker 1: thinking about where your mind is right now and what
- 20:29Speaker 1: would it look like if things were going well for you.
- 20:31Speaker 1: What would your mind feel if things were going well
- 20:34Speaker 1: for you? All right, write all that stuff down, do
- 20:36Speaker 1: your homework. Listen to this episode again to get in
- 20:38Speaker 1: the zone and get ready for tomorrow's episode for part
- 20:40Speaker 1: two of our five day series, Love you so much.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That is all for today. As always, remember, becind to yourself,
- 20:46Speaker 1: become to your brain.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Don't take shit from anyone, and especially don't take shit
- 20:50Speaker 2: from yourself. Don't care
