- 0:11Speaker 1: to catch up on, and I feel like before we

- 0:15Speaker 1: shout out to Beatbox, And especially if you've been part
- 0:17Speaker 1: of the podcast, you know that they're making this podcast happen.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Oh oh, come on, Oh, it's a drink in a box.

- 0:29Speaker 2: happen sponsor us a beatbox. There's eleven point one percent ABV.
- 0:34Speaker 2: If you have one, you will be happy and maybe
- 0:36Speaker 2: a little drunk. Oh okay, I like that.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Well, Beatbox is sending you to Bonaroo, So we got
- 0:41Speaker 1: that up on our website, Mymagic ninety four nine dot com.
- 0:44Speaker 1: They're getting you that, they're getting you one thousand dollars
- 0:47Speaker 1: and five hundred dollars in gas gift cards. So shout
- 0:50Speaker 1: out Beatbox. We're putting on this podcast, and honestly, you're
- 0:53Speaker 1: getting better every time we do this to Beatbox.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I just honestly, I think they wanted me to work
- 0:58Speaker 2: on my freestyle skills.
- 0:59Speaker 1: They really needed as I used to freestyle a ton
- 1:01Speaker 1: like I don't see that for you. I don't come
- 1:05Speaker 1: across as the guy that could break out a rap.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You give white SoundCloud wrapper.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But I honestly had some great flow. I really did,
- 1:12Speaker 1: like I would sit there and come up with the
- 1:14Speaker 1: greatest rhymes. You know, I could have had a musical career.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Should we play some of Scott's greatest hits.
- 1:18Speaker 1: At that point, we do not need to do that.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We're not looking forward to.
- 1:22Speaker 2: While we're doing announcements, I also want to give a
- 1:24Speaker 2: shout out to my Trampa Bay getaway trip that launched
- 1:26Speaker 2: last week. We're doing three days at the Moxie Hotel.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Come Hang.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I did see a lot of people talking about that,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and every time you shared it, I got more excited
- 1:33Speaker 1: because you put up a couple posts. I think it
- 1:35Speaker 1: was like may I think I was in one of
- 1:37Speaker 1: the posts.
- 1:37Speaker 2: You're in one of them because you're gonna come to
- 1:39Speaker 2: the pool party. Oh yeah, you come into the pool party.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I'm will be at a pool I don't want to
- 1:44Speaker 2: see it runs the pool parties. So you're both gonna
- 1:46Speaker 2: be at the pool party.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I'm excited to be there and I'm excited for the
- 1:49Speaker 1: people that join on this trip, especially if you haven't
- 1:51Speaker 1: been to like the Tampa Bay area or what a
- 1:53Speaker 1: lot of people do is they travel to Tampa and
- 1:55Speaker 1: then they don't go to Saint Pete, and then they're like,
- 1:57Speaker 1: what a Saint Pete. Yeah, you're about to be true
- 2:00Speaker 1: to a big trip.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Tampa's more of a local city Sat Pete. I feel
- 2:04Speaker 2: like it is better for Taurists.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, yeah, to be able to get around set.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Piece a good time.
- 2:08Speaker 1: It's gonna be a lot of fun. That's cool. How
- 2:10Speaker 1: many Okay, so it's twelve spots.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So I have twelve spots. I've had a couple of
- 2:13Speaker 2: people signed up already, so but there's plenty. There's plenty
- 2:15Speaker 2: of spots. You're fine, Like if you want to bring
- 2:16Speaker 2: a friend coming out, like, invite your whole family, bite
- 2:19Speaker 2: your mom and bite your dad.
- 2:20Speaker 3: We'll talk about your dad, Scott.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I might your dad Steve, see, I mean he might
- 2:26Speaker 2: be around.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yes, he owes me a trip down to Saint Pete.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Because I just after this weekend actually moved into a
- 2:32Speaker 1: new spot ASA NCSA. So I do need to have
- 2:36Speaker 1: like friends over and I also I want to.
- 2:38Speaker 2: We're actually staying at Scott's apartment for it's small screw
- 2:43Speaker 2: the boxie.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah you know, it's stay in my luxury, one bed,
- 2:47Speaker 1: one bath apartment. But I do want housewarming gifts. I
- 2:50Speaker 1: got to do a lot of shopping this past weekend
- 2:52Speaker 1: and a place that I did not appreciate as a kid,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but I definitely appreciate now, like home.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Goods or Target some good that's great.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That place is wild.
- 3:00Speaker 2: You can do some damage.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I did do damage.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Have you ever wanted like a chicken shaped cookie jar?
- 3:06Speaker 2: That's what you're gonna find home Goods.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Those are my favorite videos online where it's like I'm
- 3:09Speaker 1: looking for the gorilla that's on a bicycle. That's also
- 3:12Speaker 1: there for a wineholder. Oh, we have one of those.
- 3:14Speaker 2: And I also needed to have a tram stamp that
- 3:16Speaker 2: says live left Love.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's right there.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Well.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It was so fun walking through because I think for
- 3:21Speaker 1: the first time, I'm like fully furnishing and decorating my
- 3:26Speaker 1: own space. Every other spot has been very temporary or
- 3:30Speaker 1: my last location was owned by somebody else and I
- 3:32Speaker 1: was just simply moving in to their space. This is
- 3:35Speaker 1: a completely empty room that now I'm going through and
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'm like, what kind of art do I want? What
- 3:40Speaker 1: kind of plates? I've never bought plates unless they're like
- 3:43Speaker 1: little target plastic ones. So exciting, and it's a whole
- 3:47Speaker 1: new world because I don't have that vision. So I
- 3:49Speaker 1: was literally asking my girlfriend. I'm like, I need your
- 3:52Speaker 1: like whatever your mind says. I need that input because
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm very lost in this world.
- 3:56Speaker 2: What advice did she give you?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Kind of the kind of artwork that would look good
- 4:00Speaker 3: on the wall, just like nude photos of her? Yes,
- 4:05Speaker 3: just do like a boudoir shoot.
- 4:07Speaker 1: You know, I like write that does It's not a
- 4:08Speaker 1: bad idea.
- 4:09Speaker 2: A little black and white. I feel like they'd be
- 4:10Speaker 2: very viby with your house.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Could you imagine? I have friends over there, like what
- 4:15Speaker 1: kind of arty you like?
- 4:16Speaker 2: What Picasso is this? And they're actually, this is my
- 4:18Speaker 2: iPhone thirteen and my girlfriend.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, enjoy everyone, enjoy this.
- 4:22Speaker 2: This was us at the what's the Fairway?
- 4:25Speaker 1: The Fenway?
- 4:26Speaker 2: The Fenway.
- 4:28Speaker 1: This is our photo shoot on the Honeymoon Island on
- 4:30Speaker 1: Honeymoon Island, black and white.
- 4:32Speaker 2: This was that sad Mandarin hide in the bathroom.
- 4:34Speaker 1: This is us in the bathtop.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Surprisingly surprisingly spacious.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I mean you know what, maybe in my room, not
- 4:40Speaker 1: in the living room. We're looking at plants of what
- 4:42Speaker 1: to add, because I'm like, it needs something green, right,
- 4:46Speaker 1: like every house and something green clears out the air.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But I did struggle because I live in an apartment
- 4:52Speaker 1: that's like twenty five feet away from like some really
- 4:55Speaker 1: good friends of mine.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Should we be as candid as possible about it? I
- 5:00Speaker 2: think this is kind of funny. Okay, then you can
- 5:02Speaker 2: bring it up. Yeah, so Scott is living in a casita.
- 5:07Speaker 2: You're living in a casita. Of your former co workers
- 5:14Speaker 2: are also on a radio station in Tampa. I guess
- 5:16Speaker 2: you could call them our competitors, but not really. We
- 5:19Speaker 2: appealed to different demographics. But it is so funny to
- 5:22Speaker 2: me that you're living in the house of someone that
- 5:25Speaker 2: we like directly compete with for listeners.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Well, I lived with him prior, like when I first
- 5:30Speaker 1: got I said, okay, so if you have listened to
- 5:32Speaker 1: Tampa radio for a long time. When I first came on,
- 5:35Speaker 1: I was a producer of a big show, and I
- 5:38Speaker 1: lived with the host of that show. And just you
- 5:40Speaker 1: know what doesn't even matter. His name is Miguel. So
- 5:42Speaker 1: I lived with Miguel in his townhouse. When I first
- 5:45Speaker 1: came on the show, I was little on the bottom floor.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He lived there with his now husband, and like, we
- 5:49Speaker 1: had another roommate, and so for three years I was
- 5:53Speaker 1: already his roommate. And then they just happen to have
- 5:56Speaker 1: an apartment that's right behind their house, that's above the garage,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and it's a great spot. And so as soon as
- 6:02Speaker 1: I knew I had to leave, I reached out. I
- 6:03Speaker 1: was like, hey, is your spot available still? It's time
- 6:06Speaker 1: to bring back the roomy situation. So that's where like
- 6:09Speaker 1: what's funny is over the weekend, you're moving into a
- 6:12Speaker 1: new space, you don't remember everything you need. There are
- 6:15Speaker 1: certain things like I didn't have laundry detergent. I didn't
- 6:17Speaker 1: have dish detergent. I didn't have a wine open, I
- 6:19Speaker 1: didn't have paper towels. I have so many things that
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm missing, And so I'm texting me constantly. I'm like, Hey,
- 6:25Speaker 1: can I go ahead and brow like borrow some laundry
- 6:27Speaker 1: detergent And I'm just walk into the house. He'd give
- 6:29Speaker 1: me a cup of it and I'd walk back into mind.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, by the way, I don't have any silverwear.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Can I borrow some plates and stuff? I walk in,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I grab some of their stuff. So it is kind
- 6:38Speaker 1: of funny because now we do on a radio terms
- 6:40Speaker 1: quote unquote compete, so it's like, I like the joke
- 6:43Speaker 1: with them that I'm I'm spying, I poke through my window.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm I have a little microphone set up.
- 6:48Speaker 2: In there's their new bits.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But it was nice though, because it's kind of cool
- 6:55Speaker 1: to be able to reconnect to catch back up. But
- 6:57Speaker 1: also I am now the annoying roommate that's instantly like knock, knock, knock,
- 7:02Speaker 1: any one of these Hey, uh, I'm just gonna bop
- 7:04Speaker 1: over really quick. But I was thinking over the weekend
- 7:07Speaker 1: of the things that I want to add. And speaking
- 7:09Speaker 1: of decorating the house, you brought on the podcast before,
- 7:12Speaker 1: Alexia now Alexia over the weekend and if you follow
- 7:15Speaker 1: her on Instagram at the Gala Life, she got this
- 7:18Speaker 1: new pool and.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It looks so cool. I know, we need the invite.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I want the invite, and I also kind of want
- 7:24Speaker 1: to get one, and I want to put it in
- 7:26Speaker 1: the backyard of their house because it's so nice and
- 7:29Speaker 1: it's so casual everybody could enjoy because it's not massive.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I'm not digging into the ground to add this pool.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Have you pitched that idea to them?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Not yet, because I don't think it's gonna go.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Well, but here's the thing. I have a feeling they're
- 7:40Speaker 2: all gonna want to use it with you and you
- 7:42Speaker 2: guys are three grown men, and I don't know if
- 7:44Speaker 2: it's big enough for three large dudes.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, luay, Alexia was just floating
- 7:48Speaker 1: around that thing. It looked like it could carry some people.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Looks like it could carry me. You win, Alexia, but
- 7:53Speaker 2: not three grown as dude, three dudes. I mean, like
- 7:56Speaker 2: you're gonna come. There's goulda be no water left in
- 7:58Speaker 2: the pool.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Well, you know what, maybe then I'll wait on that idea.
- 8:01Speaker 2: The rebosh chilling and at ub what that life? Someone
- 8:05Speaker 2: remember close because they are gay.
- 8:07Speaker 1: See you know what, We're just gonna get closer. It's
- 8:08Speaker 1: pool bonding.
- 8:09Speaker 2: That's a vine reference, by the way, for anyone who's confused.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I didn't have vine growing up.
- 8:12Speaker 2: You you didn't have vine.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I tried to rebel against it as a teen.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You were like something to wait for me in the
- 8:18Speaker 2: divine for resisting.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I tried. And now I'm like, I'm so remorseful
- 8:21Speaker 1: because there's so many great moments like that.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So I didn't really watch Vine in high school. And
- 8:25Speaker 2: then my best friend Virginia introduced me to Vine compilations
- 8:28Speaker 2: in college after Vine already got.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Rid of that's the best part of it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Oh my god. I remember I would just sit in
- 8:33Speaker 2: the living room of my sorority house and I would
- 8:35Speaker 2: just watch them on repeat and I would just it
- 8:38Speaker 2: sparks so much joy in me.
- 8:39Speaker 1: It really does. Like TikTok's not the same as that,
- 8:42Speaker 1: Like TikTok's so like, I think the problem this is
- 8:44Speaker 1: a tangent a Vine, and TikTok like Vine was so
- 8:47Speaker 1: organic of just like coming up with some stupid thing
- 8:49Speaker 1: to say and he got six seconds to say it
- 8:51Speaker 1: and it was hilarious. TikTok, it feels, is so professional
- 8:55Speaker 1: and like movie esque or like some are good, but
- 8:59Speaker 1: it's not the same as the OG stuff.
- 9:01Speaker 2: It's a mix between YouTube and Vine.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Which I guess it works. But I don't get on
- 9:05Speaker 1: TikTok much anymore. But back to this house, I've already actually,
- 9:09Speaker 1: if he gets word of this, well then I'm gonna
- 9:11Speaker 1: be probably fined. But I already kind of ruined the
- 9:13Speaker 1: apartment that I'm living in. What happened, Well, we were
- 9:16Speaker 1: like cooking and then got very excited. But I told
- 9:18Speaker 1: you one of the things that I didn't have in
- 9:19Speaker 1: the house was a wine opener. But we got a
- 9:21Speaker 1: couple bottles of wine because they were doing a little
- 9:23Speaker 1: tasty that night. Okay, and so I had to make
- 9:26Speaker 1: shift how to open a bottle of wine? Have you
- 9:28Speaker 1: ever done this?
- 9:30Speaker 2: I have, but in a very effective way.
- 9:32Speaker 1: How did you do it?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Did you know? And you wouldn't have this in your house,
- 9:35Speaker 2: so you wouldn't have been able to do this. But
- 9:36Speaker 2: I saw this on TikTok where if you put and kids,
- 9:39Speaker 2: don't try this at home. Do not try this at home.
- 9:42Speaker 2: This is anecdotal. This is an anecdote. If you take
- 9:46Speaker 2: a hair streetener, allegedly and you put it on both
- 9:49Speaker 2: sides of the wine opener, the heat makes the court
- 9:53Speaker 2: come out.
- 9:54Speaker 1: No way, did you actually try that allegedly? Oh?
- 9:58Speaker 2: I may have. I may I've attempted it. But I
- 10:01Speaker 2: would never tell anybody to do that.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That sounds like it would be glass straight into your hand.
- 10:05Speaker 1: That's what I would fear. I went the much simpler,
- 10:08Speaker 1: dumber route. But now I might be in trouble with
- 10:10Speaker 1: my Now I guess I'm the my landlords. Did you
- 10:13Speaker 1: just dig it out with a knife.
- 10:15Speaker 4: No?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Oh, I stabbed a fork into the top of it,
- 10:17Speaker 1: and I pushed the cork all the way down and
- 10:19Speaker 1: it exploded. I mean, honestly, kudos to me, because for
- 10:25Speaker 1: the most part, a lot of the wine stayed, but
- 10:27Speaker 1: a lot of it left the bottle, and so it
- 10:29Speaker 1: splattered the walls. It's up on the counters. I did
- 10:33Speaker 1: do my due diligence, and I wiped everything because everything's white,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and so I wanted to make sure I didn't stain.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But then we're sitting on the couch and we're eating,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and we're just snacking and talking, and I leaned back
- 10:42Speaker 1: and I look up and I'm like, holy shit, it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: sprayed across the ceiling.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Is it red wine? Yes? Oh God?
- 10:49Speaker 1: And so it's for certain stained. Like, there's no way
- 10:51Speaker 1: unless I the only solution I have is to get
- 10:54Speaker 1: one of those magic erasers. Yeah.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I don't know how You're gonna have to Michelangelo it.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I'm going to have to get up on the top
- 10:59Speaker 1: of the ceiling and wash it off instead.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Of the Assistine chapel. It's just you won the ceiling
- 11:04Speaker 2: of your rented apartment.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Honestly, that'd be a really good picture. I tried to
- 11:06Speaker 1: take a picture from the floor up of me leaning
- 11:09Speaker 1: to clean the ceiling.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You know, you can just paint it, Yeah, but I'm
- 11:13Speaker 2: not gonna paint it.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Then you're gonna have white. I can't paint anything. For
- 11:17Speaker 1: people that paint rooms in their house, that's I respect
- 11:21Speaker 1: you because I don't know how you get the streak.
- 11:24Speaker 1: So even like that doesn't make sense to me. I
- 11:26Speaker 1: will always hire somebody to do that because the time,
- 11:28Speaker 1: the stress, and the money that it's gonna cost me
- 11:31Speaker 1: to do all that, I might as well bring somebody in.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Do you know how much wine openers are?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like seven bucks?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Seven bucks.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Well, I didn't have one at the time, and I
- 11:38Speaker 1: was already inside. I was already a bottle.
- 11:40Speaker 2: In, and we wouldn't want you to drink and drive.
- 11:43Speaker 1: No, And I could have probably door dashed one in. Yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 1: And what my girlfriend did say right before it, but
- 11:48Speaker 1: then my boy brain kicked in. She did say she
- 11:50Speaker 1: probably opened this in the shower. I didn't listen. I
- 11:53Speaker 1: just went full force on it.
- 11:54Speaker 2: No, babe, I can do it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I could.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I've done this before.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Oh man, what's it? It's my intrusive thoughts. Can completely
- 12:01Speaker 1: went all the way in God, and for the most
- 12:03Speaker 1: part it is good. But the ceiling is covered.
- 12:04Speaker 2: In wine right now, Well, I hate that for you.
- 12:06Speaker 1: What has broken in Now the house is officially it
- 12:09Speaker 1: has been so nice. He's christened it. It's christened with wine.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I've blessed it. I was going to save you. But
- 12:15Speaker 1: I think it's the same thing. If wine splatters on
- 12:17Speaker 1: the walls. I think that's like the Italian blessing. Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I think it actually encourages the good spirits to stay
- 12:21Speaker 2: exact because they will be staying on your wall, and
- 12:23Speaker 2: they will until they find out and they paint it
- 12:25Speaker 2: and find me for it.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Your Saturday, okay, I want to jump into your weekend.
- 12:29Speaker 1: It is a busy weekend, your Friday, and to your
- 12:31Speaker 1: Saturday and to what I was hoping that Abby was
- 12:34Speaker 1: going to join us on Sunday, which we'll get to,
- 12:36Speaker 1: because that night was incredible.
- 12:38Speaker 2: It did look fun.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I was blown away and we went to a new
- 12:41Speaker 1: spot in Tampa. Was the whole thing. But your Friday night,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I saw you out on the town. What the heck
- 12:45Speaker 1: were you doing? Yeah? This wine event.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Well, first I have an update for the people because.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Oh jeez, okay.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It has officially been.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Oh man, looking at it right now eight days.
- 12:57Speaker 2: This is so bad since the sales set of God
- 13:00Speaker 2: texted me if you missed this on previous episodes of
- 13:04Speaker 2: the podcast. On my birthday, we went to a baseball
- 13:08Speaker 2: game and one of our salespeople, one of our lovely
- 13:11Speaker 2: sales friends, amazing, said I want to set you up
- 13:13Speaker 2: with my friend's son. Anyway. I was like sure, like
- 13:16Speaker 2: if something comes a bit great, if not, whatever gives him,
- 13:19Speaker 2: gives him my number. Allegedly never heard from him. Ran
- 13:22Speaker 2: into one of their mutual friends a couple of weeks ago,
- 13:24Speaker 2: and I think that pushed things along to have him
- 13:26Speaker 2: text me. Anyway. He finally texted me last Sunday and
- 13:30Speaker 2: was like so complimentary. It was like, I can't wait
- 13:33Speaker 2: to get to know you. I would love to take
- 13:34Speaker 2: you out, and so I was like, yeah, absolutely, like
- 13:36Speaker 2: take me out.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like, hello, I'm available.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Here's what I'm available.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And then and then silence, nothing, and then nothing. That's crazy.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Do you have your read receipts? I guess he would
- 13:47Speaker 1: have to have his Yeah, I don't have mine on,
- 13:49Speaker 1: so he would have to see You would have to
- 13:50Speaker 1: be able to see that he actually read it.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It's just funny because you didn't have to ask me out.
- 13:54Speaker 1: No, you didn't ever have to text you, so I
- 13:56Speaker 1: mightn't have to sound excited either. Like that's the part
- 13:58Speaker 1: of it that sounds so weird. I'm like, you're excited. Yes,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you set it up. You even set the ask.
- 14:03Speaker 2: We also have mutual friends, so there's accountability here. Like
- 14:06Speaker 2: the second we're done with our meeting. Later today, I'm
- 14:08Speaker 2: going into her office and I'm filling her in. I
- 14:11Speaker 2: cannot wait. I want to know what she's going to say.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm very curious because that was the first thing I
- 14:15Speaker 1: asked Abby this morning. I was like, are you going
- 14:16Speaker 1: to confront our saleswoman? Like, I'm not going to confront her,
- 14:19Speaker 1: but I'm just gonna be like, hey, do you.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Want to went inform her that I'm no longer interested
- 14:24Speaker 2: because he took eight days.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, at this point, there's no hope.
- 14:27Speaker 2: At this point, he's not going to text me. But
- 14:28Speaker 2: if he did, I would not respond.
- 14:31Speaker 1: That's so crazy to me, Like, unless maybe no, everything's
- 14:35Speaker 1: dark after that point. Maybe he lost his phone or
- 14:37Speaker 1: I got run over and he lost your number.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Can you imagine I go into quote unquote confront her
- 14:41Speaker 2: and she's like, Abby, he died. And then I'm the asshole?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Am I the asshole for being upset that this guy
- 14:51Speaker 2: asked me out and then he died? And then he died?
- 14:54Speaker 2: But I was telling my friend Taylor about this, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: she has an even worse situation. So yeah, So my
- 15:00Speaker 2: friend Taylor lives in Nashville, and so she was out
- 15:02Speaker 2: at a bar and some guy approached her and I
- 15:04Speaker 2: guess was fawning all over her, saying, Oh, my gosh,
- 15:06Speaker 2: I would love to take you out. You're so beautiful
- 15:08Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah. And so she's like, oh, this
- 15:09Speaker 2: is so great, Like whatever, ell exchange numbers with you.
- 15:12Speaker 2: So they exchange numbers. He's like, Hey, this is blank,
- 15:15Speaker 2: nice to meet you, blah blah blah. And then they
- 15:18Speaker 2: he says, I would love to take you out for
- 15:20Speaker 2: a drink, but I'm he's a pilot. He's like, I'm
- 15:22Speaker 2: flying this week or whatever, and she goes sounds good,
- 15:24Speaker 2: I'm a I'm free blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 15:26Speaker 2: So then for some reason she noticed that he unfollowed her,
- 15:32Speaker 2: and she texted me. She's like, should I say something
- 15:35Speaker 2: like I've got nothing to lose? He unfollowed me. We're
- 15:37Speaker 2: not obviously not going to go out. I was like, sure,
- 15:39Speaker 2: what go for it? So she texts him and she says,
- 15:42Speaker 2: for research purposes, can you tell me why you decided
- 15:46Speaker 2: to unfollow me.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Especially when you were so obsessed with me in the beginning?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Well not even obsessed, but I mean it's an enthusiastic ask.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It's not like, oh, I yeah, maybe we should go out.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I don't know, blah blah blah. You're excited about it,
- 15:58Speaker 1: like what happened between these two times?
- 16:00Speaker 2: So she sent me a screenshot. So she said, for
- 16:03Speaker 2: research purposes, what prompted the unfollow lol? And then he
- 16:07Speaker 2: responded just not interested?
- 16:10Speaker 1: What?
- 16:10Speaker 2: And then it's I'm telling you it's hell out here.
- 16:13Speaker 1: It's so bad.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And then she responded any particular reason, and then he said,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I don't know. I had a long day and honestly
- 16:21Speaker 2: don't remember talking to you. And then he responded, not
- 16:25Speaker 2: my type. What the sir? You approached her that's what
- 16:30Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So you're setting this up.
- 16:33Speaker 2: So then I told her. I was like, O, hey,
- 16:35Speaker 2: here's what you should say. Just respond and say all good.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Not my type either. After this exchange TVH, So she
- 16:41Speaker 2: sends the text he blocked her.
- 16:44Speaker 1: What a dick, I know.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So then this is what we found out. So she
- 16:49Speaker 2: did more research intel Because Nashville is very small, everyone
- 16:51Speaker 2: knows everybody, kind of like Tampa. Everyone knows everybody. So
- 16:55Speaker 2: her friend, I guess made out with him at a
- 16:58Speaker 2: bar on New Year's even I he was a total
- 17:00Speaker 2: dick to her, and so she is in one of
- 17:03Speaker 2: her first photos on Instagram. Ah, and so she's like, oh,
- 17:07Speaker 2: he must have seen blah blah blah, and was like,
- 17:09Speaker 2: I don't want to deal with this.
- 17:10Speaker 1: That seems so like absurd though it almost sounds like
- 17:13Speaker 1: he's like the only reason he blocked her is because
- 17:16Speaker 1: he knows her friend and they made out.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but I guess he was a total like d
- 17:19Speaker 2: bag doer.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I mean, it makes sense, like that's a d bag move.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I know, he just seems like a d bag in general.
- 17:24Speaker 2: So I mean that's why I'm for example, this guy
- 17:26Speaker 2: who won't text me back. People are like, why don't
- 17:28Speaker 2: you just text one because he's probably saving me from
- 17:32Speaker 2: d bag behavior.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Honestly, you know, yes, you're saving yourself a lot of
- 17:36Speaker 1: time and a lot of energy. Yes, Like you want
- 17:38Speaker 1: somebody that's going to meet you halfway, someone who can
- 17:42Speaker 1: follow up on a date. Oh, what a concept. But
- 17:45Speaker 1: it feels like that is harder. It's just wild to
- 17:48Speaker 1: me talking to people out in like Tampa or Saint
- 17:50Speaker 1: Pete and like they're single, and it's like you hear
- 17:52Speaker 1: about these exchanges, you hear about the guys that they
- 17:55Speaker 1: go on dates with, and I don't I don't know
- 17:57Speaker 1: who these men are that can't get a single brain
- 18:00Speaker 1: cell to compremand like how to go on a date,
- 18:04Speaker 1: how to be a respectful human being?
- 18:06Speaker 2: You also just don't have to ask us out, that's what.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Well, that's a good point.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I'm glad that you're asking us out. But it's like
- 18:12Speaker 2: you're making me the problem for you asking me out.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 18:17Speaker 2: It's d like I'm some crazy girlfriend who's like ask me,
- 18:19Speaker 2: oh please, please, please please. You texted me, you approached
- 18:23Speaker 2: my friend at the bar.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and now you're just leading. It's almost like they
- 18:28Speaker 1: just want to I think I said this before, but
- 18:29Speaker 1: it's like you just want to know that you could
- 18:31Speaker 1: get and then you're like all right, cool, Like that's
- 18:33Speaker 1: a weird like satisfaction. Maybe it's like I know you're interested.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's like cool, I could keep going.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Do you want to hear about my only current romantic prospect?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Oh boy, it's.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Actually a really great continuation of a storyline from the
- 18:45Speaker 2: Bird Show that came out of nowhere. So last September
- 18:50Speaker 2: I went to Greece because I run these girls trips.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Uh huh, just Trampa Bay getaway sign ups out now
- 18:54Speaker 2: check the link and the description. That's right. So we
- 18:57Speaker 2: went to Greece and the last couple nights out with
- 19:00Speaker 2: my friend Jenna, and we were at this bar and
- 19:02Speaker 2: we ran into these two British guys. So she hung
- 19:04Speaker 2: out with this guy named Ryan and I hung out
- 19:06Speaker 2: with this guy named James. And they were really great
- 19:12Speaker 2: and really lovely, like sweet, very handsome, kind of goobery,
- 19:16Speaker 2: like I can tell like they probably not pulling a
- 19:18Speaker 2: lot of bitches back home, because like they didn't. Really,
- 19:21Speaker 2: I'm glad they didn't pull anything weird, but they like
- 19:23Speaker 2: definitely we thought at one point we were like, definitely
- 19:25Speaker 2: gonna like kith kith or something. They never did, and
- 19:28Speaker 2: we spent all night with them on our final night
- 19:30Speaker 2: in Greece, and he kept texting me because I guess
- 19:33Speaker 2: he just like loves Florida. But I hadn't. I hadn't
- 19:35Speaker 2: had plans to move to Florida yet. He's like, Oh,
- 19:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna be in Key Wes. Maybe we can meet
- 19:38Speaker 2: up in Key West and I'm like, I'm not, I'm
- 19:40Speaker 2: not meeting you.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I don't that's a far as journey too.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I would say the same thing though, if I was
- 19:45Speaker 1: going over there from Atlanta.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Anyway, So I ghosted him at one point. I'm not
- 19:49Speaker 2: proud of it, but I'm like, this isn't this isn't
- 19:51Speaker 2: going anywhere my guy, Like you live in the UK,
- 19:55Speaker 2: I live here. He just logisticates, Yeah, yeah, it's just
- 19:59Speaker 2: if you are my soul. Yeah, been on fight for it,
- 20:02Speaker 2: but let's be real mm hmmmm. Anyway, so I ghosted him.
- 20:06Speaker 3: He followed me on Instagram over the weekend this past
- 20:09Speaker 3: week's past weekend. Oh my god, I kept waiting for
- 20:12Speaker 3: him to DM me because I'm like, I'll entertain it.
- 20:14Speaker 3: If he DMS me because I'm like, why now, why
- 20:17Speaker 3: this weekend?
- 20:18Speaker 1: Well, you know he's gonna hear this. Now, if he's
- 20:20Speaker 1: following on Instagram, he's then gonna see the podcast probably
- 20:24Speaker 1: then gonna listen to the podcast.
- 20:25Speaker 2: He waved him.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yep, that's true. Oh, I mean, would you let's just say,
- 20:32Speaker 1: if he does visit the Florida area, now see him
- 20:35Speaker 1: again for.
- 20:36Speaker 2: The plot, but I mean for the plot.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I never want to be well, I was somebody's for
- 20:43Speaker 1: the plot. I okay, so I do know what that's like.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But I was gonna say I didn't want to be
- 20:47Speaker 1: called somebody's for the plot. I know, but I mean
- 20:49Speaker 1: it would be fun and who knows. I mean, for
- 20:51Speaker 1: the plot could turn into something. Here's the thing.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I'm so emotionally desperate that I would go out with
- 20:56Speaker 2: him if if you happen to be in Tampa Bay.
- 20:58Speaker 2: But I'm not going to key We So if he
- 21:00Speaker 2: happened to be in TPA.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Which I mean, if you're gonna come to Florida, that's
- 21:04Speaker 1: usually where you fly and you don't get to direct
- 21:06Speaker 1: the key West, well.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Usually flying to Miami.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Oh that's true, and then go down.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That's why I was so random because I'm like, you
- 21:12Speaker 2: don't live here, I'm very sure just flying into Tampa.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You guys, when you first met, you didn't decide to
- 21:18Speaker 1: follow each other on Instagram.
- 21:19Speaker 2: No, it wasn't like that. We were just like Gavin,
- 21:22Speaker 2: he's a talker, So I remember I was like just
- 21:24Speaker 2: hanging out with him because it was going really well
- 21:26Speaker 2: with my friend Jenna and Ryan. We think Ryan has
- 21:29Speaker 2: a girlfriend though, oh, because we're like Ry, didn't Ryan
- 21:32Speaker 2: make a move anyway, so, but James was just such
- 21:35Speaker 2: a gentleman, so we were like, it makes sense for
- 21:37Speaker 2: James not to make a move. But I was just
- 21:39Speaker 2: gabbing with him for a minute and we exchanged numbers,
- 21:43Speaker 2: but we didn't exchange instagrams. I don't know.
- 21:45Speaker 1: This is weird and that now we're in May and
- 21:47Speaker 1: he's about to just like, hey, let me go ahead
- 21:49Speaker 1: and just he he might be planning on the stood
- 21:51Speaker 1: in the shot, or he might be planning to come
- 21:52Speaker 1: to this area.
- 21:53Speaker 2: He might be in Florida. He's like, let me see
- 21:54Speaker 2: what she's up to, because maybe he like just creeped
- 21:56Speaker 2: on me and found out that I moved to Florida.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:00Speaker 1: That's actually I would I just want the plot, Honestly,
- 22:02Speaker 1: I really do. I want the plot of you in
- 22:04Speaker 1: a dating situation. Yeah, I want to know what you're like.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I want to know what you're like in a like
- 22:09Speaker 1: a dating scenario.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I would like to know what I'm like in a
- 22:12Speaker 2: dating scenario.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Well, I think you're getting That's what I said before
- 22:15Speaker 1: I left the studio today. I was like, I think
- 22:17Speaker 1: you'll be engaged before your brother's wedding. No, I'm not
- 22:19Speaker 1: coming in July.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Wedding is in a month, and it's in like five weeks.
- 22:25Speaker 1: You're going to meet somebody you're going to date and
- 22:27Speaker 1: get engaged all in the next month and a half.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Scott, I can't do this anymore. I'm like, I'm like,
- 22:33Speaker 2: truly at my wits end.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Well, you went out on Friday, Okay, because you went
- 22:36Speaker 1: out on Friday with your friend. I don't know if
- 22:38Speaker 1: we're disclosing her name, but she's sorry.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I went out with my tour's a good time. We
- 22:42Speaker 2: went to a white Haven wine event at Birchwood Canopy.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Okay, first off, Birchwood, what were your thoughts? I love Birchwood,
- 22:49Speaker 1: the nice rooptop it's gorgeous up there.
- 22:51Speaker 2: But it was just like a like a very low
- 22:53Speaker 2: key influencer event, and they just gave us like a
- 22:56Speaker 2: half bottle of wine and then we just drank it.
- 22:59Speaker 2: And then I was plenty tow you know, maybe mosey
- 23:01Speaker 2: for a little bit then go home. But then we
- 23:02Speaker 2: ran into these other two influencer girls and we were like,
- 23:05Speaker 2: let's go out. So, oh, you know what. I found
- 23:07Speaker 2: a restaurant in Saint Pete that I really like.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Let me take a guess of what it would be.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I was wanting to go to this restaurant for a while.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It's on the beach Drive right there.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It's in downtown Saint Pete.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Okay, I have no idea. There's so many what is it?
- 23:19Speaker 2: But it's one of the main ones on beach driver.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Oh, okay, would it be? Oh we went to June
- 23:22Speaker 1: on the Peacock. We've been to Aleilo.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Do you like Alilo?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Is it the one right under the birch wood?
- 23:28Speaker 2: No?
- 23:29Speaker 1: What is it called?
- 23:31Speaker 2: Sevice?
- 23:31Speaker 1: Sabby j is okay right now? No? No?
- 23:33Speaker 2: No, no? Yeah, next door Savich and I happened to love Savich.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Oh, you actually like the dish?
- 23:38Speaker 2: So I got Savice at Savice and it was great.
- 23:41Speaker 1: M see, I feel like your friend Torri would be
- 23:43Speaker 1: the perfect like wing woman.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she's also simple.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Oh so actually better.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Funny that you bring that up, because I'm telling you
- 23:50Speaker 2: the only men that will date me are British. She
- 23:52Speaker 2: also texted me on Friday. She's right before we went
- 23:55Speaker 2: out to the wine event. She's like, hey, can you
- 23:57Speaker 2: wing woman for me? Because she's dating a guy from
- 23:59Speaker 2: Scotland who's here. He's in the military and so she.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Guys, really make it, make it tough for yourself.
- 24:05Speaker 2: She's like, listen, the guy that you would go out
- 24:07Speaker 2: with is so not even remotely in your league, but like,
- 24:11Speaker 2: will you go with me on this date? And I
- 24:12Speaker 2: was like, yeah, I'd be happy to, Like, I'll do
- 24:14Speaker 2: it for the plot. And so on Friday, we're going
- 24:17Speaker 2: to I'll tell you later, We're going somewhere and I'm
- 24:20Speaker 2: wingwomaned her on this date, which I'm like, you don't
- 24:23Speaker 2: really need me to wing woman because they're already kind
- 24:25Speaker 2: of dating.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yeah. If she's been talking to a guy from Scotland.
- 24:29Speaker 1: From Scotland, he's hot, I bet he is. Well, I
- 24:32Speaker 1: mean he's good for her. I mean we were just
- 24:35Speaker 1: talking about it, like long distance is hard, long distance
- 24:38Speaker 1: and in the military and then in the country, Yeah
- 24:40Speaker 1: sounds a lot harder.
- 24:41Speaker 2: But he's in the British Army and so is James
- 24:45Speaker 2: from Greece, and so I'm wondering, wait a second, do
- 24:48Speaker 2: they all know each other. So I'm like, gonna show
- 24:52Speaker 2: up on Friday and James is gonna be like, allow love.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Actually it's not how he talks at a very normal place.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Harry Potter, Oh my god, no, because she told me
- 25:02Speaker 4: the name of the guy that I was gonna get
- 25:04Speaker 4: set up with, and she's like, you're not even remotely
- 25:06Speaker 4: and he's like, and James is very cute, very like
- 25:08Speaker 4: a normal looking British.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Dude now and when she says in his league, like
- 25:14Speaker 1: he's he's.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I don't want to say the words, but put two
- 25:17Speaker 2: and two together. I am not in his league and
- 25:21Speaker 2: not in a good way.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Oh gotcha. Okay, Well I'll be fun. I hope you
- 25:25Speaker 1: guys have a great date night out.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I think it'll be fun. But we had a great time.
- 25:28Speaker 2: We went to Good Night. John Boy toy is so
- 25:29Speaker 2: fun to dance with.
- 25:31Speaker 1: See that's awesome.
- 25:32Speaker 2: See I get very excited when I get to go
- 25:33Speaker 2: to good Night John Boy and I get to dance
- 25:35Speaker 2: with somebody, because when you go with people who don't
- 25:38Speaker 2: want to dance, it's like, actually the it's actually hell
- 25:40Speaker 2: on earth. It's Helen. Nah, it's horrible.
- 25:44Speaker 1: On Saturday, I thought, okay, I saw we were joking
- 25:47Speaker 1: about this. You went on a nice boat. You met
- 25:49Speaker 1: a bunch of people. Because we have like this new
- 25:51Speaker 1: friend in our life that's, yes, the biggest connector in
- 25:54Speaker 1: Tampa Bay, big connector, insane, and it seems like he
- 25:57Speaker 1: obviously wants to help both of us out. But definitely
- 26:01Speaker 1: you because you got invited on a boat that I
- 26:02Speaker 1: didn't get invited.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Well, I mean inviting girls on a boat, you know.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I mean it's a win. The man's got it.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So we got to go on a boat on Saturday.
- 26:09Speaker 2: It was fun. I met some other girls. We tried
- 26:11Speaker 2: to have a night out that night. Just didn't didn't work.
- 26:15Speaker 1: You know, I think some people are very much more
- 26:18Speaker 1: of like because Abbey's like to go out and dance,
- 26:20Speaker 1: you get a groove.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I don't need I don't even need to drink. I
- 26:23Speaker 2: just want to dance. I just want to let's dang.
- 26:27Speaker 2: So any opportunity I get to go and dance somewhere,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I like to. I like to do that, but.
- 26:31Speaker 1: It sucks when other people are on into that.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Or they say they want to and then they don't.
- 26:35Speaker 1: They don't.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Don't bamboozle me into dancing if you're not.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Gonna dance, yeah, because that's gonna be That's actually funny.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Like the last time we went out to good Night
- 26:42Speaker 1: John Boy and you were there, you had the same
- 26:43Speaker 1: kind of reaction where it's like, guys, why aren't you dancing?
- 26:45Speaker 2: That's what I mean is why are there's so many
- 26:47Speaker 2: other great bars you can go to in downtown Saint Pete,
- 26:50Speaker 2: but only go to good Night John Boy if you're
- 26:52Speaker 2: ready to dance? Do you not agree?
- 26:56Speaker 1: I mean I could understand. I like when I was
- 26:59Speaker 1: at good Night John Boy either like I said, like,
- 27:01Speaker 1: I'm a full send. Yeah, I will be on the
- 27:03Speaker 1: dance floor. I could. I don't give a damn who
- 27:05Speaker 1: looks at me. I will go all in. But that
- 27:07Speaker 1: also means almost sweat my ass off. And so I'm
- 27:10Speaker 1: either going to commit to being that sweaty dude that's
- 27:12Speaker 1: going hard, that's making a fool, that's having a fun time,
- 27:15Speaker 1: or I almost sit my ass down and just watch.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Now I watch one now, I don't know why are
- 27:21Speaker 1: you watching. I want to go to good Night John
- 27:23Speaker 1: boyd just to watch, That's what I mean. It's weird
- 27:25Speaker 1: like people watch. No if I go to a bar,
- 27:27Speaker 1: it's I usually want to just sit and.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Chat, That's what I mean. But good Night John Boy
- 27:31Speaker 2: is on a bar.
- 27:31Speaker 1: But if people want to go there in the group, yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 1: that's good. It is a club.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It's a club, but that But what I'm trying to
- 27:37Speaker 2: say is if you're going out in a group, then
- 27:39Speaker 2: at least fifty percent of the group needs to be
- 27:41Speaker 2: there to dance.
- 27:42Speaker 1: That's true.
- 27:42Speaker 2: If if not even fifty percent is reaching that quota,
- 27:45Speaker 2: if not even ten percent is reaching that quota, and
- 27:48Speaker 2: now go then go somewhere else. Like there's so many
- 27:50Speaker 2: other bars where you can sit in chat. Go to
- 27:52Speaker 2: Trailer Daddy next door, or I don't know the other one.
- 27:56Speaker 1: You want to the Copper Shaker, That's the one I
- 27:58Speaker 1: was trying to mention on the last podcast.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Copper Shak. There's a little bit more social, but still
- 28:01Speaker 2: it's loud and there it's hard to talk.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's why I can't go out, and I think I
- 28:04Speaker 1: found the perfect spot, and that's where we went on Sunday,
- 28:07Speaker 1: which was the Sapphire. Ah.
- 28:09Speaker 2: He finally made it to the Sapphire.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Here's what's cool about how this night kind of started
- 28:14Speaker 1: is because when I was with my girlfriend this past weekend,
- 28:16Speaker 1: and that is so cool to say.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I know, I was going to ask you how it
- 28:19Speaker 2: feels to say it. You must be nice, it's really nice.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It's really nice, you know, getting used to it.
- 28:26Speaker 1: But I was sitting there and I was like, you know,
- 28:28Speaker 1: I've been talking about this place of Sapphire. I really
- 28:30Speaker 1: want to check it out. So I went online and
- 28:31Speaker 1: I was about to make a reservation. But then our
- 28:33Speaker 1: friend who's the massive connector in Tampa Bay was just
- 28:36Speaker 1: literally happened to text me that same day. It was like, Hey,
- 28:40Speaker 1: if you want to go to the Sapphire, let me know.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I'll get you on the list. So I was like,
- 28:44Speaker 1: you know what, let's come in. So this is the
- 28:47Speaker 1: time to go. Let's get in before it's the most
- 28:49Speaker 1: popular spot. So there's a couple things that happened that
- 28:52Speaker 1: kind of almost sent this night off. First off, when
- 28:55Speaker 1: he set up the name I got there, my name
- 28:57Speaker 1: was not on the list, and so that immediately sent me.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And I'm not an anxious dude, but he's like a
- 29:03Speaker 1: new friend that I started to get anxious for because
- 29:06Speaker 1: I'm not trying to ruin this connection. And we're in
- 29:08Speaker 1: a very nice place, Like I'm rolling up and there's
- 29:11Speaker 1: the fancy cars in the front, which, first off, tangent,
- 29:15Speaker 1: how did you get your car in the front.
- 29:17Speaker 2: You have to have a very expensive car.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Do you guy got a request? It's got to be
- 29:20Speaker 1: really fancy.
- 29:20Speaker 2: No, I think there. The valet is just trained that
- 29:23Speaker 2: if the car is above one hundred k or whatever,
- 29:25Speaker 2: park those out front and then put the Honda CIVICKX
- 29:28Speaker 2: in the basketet.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I wanted to put my super Roof Forester there. God
- 29:31Speaker 1: sends Sue up at the front.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Did you valet the super Roof Forester? Like, yeah, that's
- 29:35Speaker 2: so funny.
- 29:35Speaker 1: You knew you should have valeted to you the other
- 29:38Speaker 1: day I drove.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I was trying to say money because Uber is very expensive.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Well, Vallet's free. Oh it is it is?
- 29:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah, next time you go. Well we learned. Well when
- 29:49Speaker 1: we got there, I go to the front. Woman and
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I got told two things. I gave
- 29:54Speaker 1: my name first, and they're like, ah, I don't see you.
- 29:57Speaker 1: And so immediately I'm like, well, I look like an idiot.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to impress my my girlfriend. And then I
- 30:02Speaker 1: also say, well also, so and so said I'm on
- 30:04Speaker 1: the list, and they're like, you know, let me take
- 30:06Speaker 1: a look. And so we look down the list. I'm
- 30:08Speaker 1: looking at the reservations and I see their name and
- 30:10Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, that must be it. That must be
- 30:12Speaker 1: who we're under. Well, he also told us on the
- 30:16Speaker 1: text that he also has a dinner reservation. It's so embarrassing,
- 30:19Speaker 1: and so I'm like, oh, that must be it. Say
- 30:21Speaker 1: go and see us. And it's like the best little
- 30:23Speaker 1: spot in the place. It's right by the stage which
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Sapphire has live entertainment, an awesome band. You walk in.
- 30:30Speaker 1: This guy has a cowboy hat on. They got this
- 30:32Speaker 1: good band. It's like kind of you described it perfectly abby,
- 30:35Speaker 1: like a New Year's Eve vibe where a guy on
- 30:37Speaker 1: the guitar, he's singing, he's complimenting you as he walked by,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and we sit at this nice table and immediately like
- 30:43Speaker 1: the whole staff of the restaurant comes by, they greet us,
- 30:47Speaker 1: they give us these glasses of champagne. And that's exactly
- 30:49Speaker 1: when I knew that I took his reservation instead on
- 30:52Speaker 1: my own. And so I'm internally panicky, like I'm trying
- 30:55Speaker 1: to enjoy it, but I'm like telling my girlfriend. I'm like,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I think I took his reservation and I don't know
- 31:00Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to get in, and I think
- 31:02Speaker 1: he's gonna hate me now, and I completely ruined this connection,
- 31:05Speaker 1: and so I'm like now hating up the text. I'm like,
- 31:06Speaker 1: I am so sorry. I gotta let you know that
- 31:08Speaker 1: I think I took your spot, like my name was
- 31:10Speaker 1: on on on the list. And he's like, dude, chill,
- 31:13Speaker 1: I got it. And he's like I'm getting in. Yeah.
- 31:16Speaker 1: He's like, actually, I'm a big part of that restaurant.
- 31:19Speaker 1: So he's like, I'm gonna be fine.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I was like okay, he came over and he said hello,
- 31:24Speaker 1: but I went I felt like a kid in a
- 31:26Speaker 1: candy store at this place. Like when I think of
- 31:28Speaker 1: going out, I don't think about going to a a
- 31:31Speaker 1: welcome to the like the farm, or a like a
- 31:34Speaker 1: soho area where it's loud and you can't move, Like
- 31:38Speaker 1: you walk into this bar and they got this big
- 31:40Speaker 1: ass chandelier over this beautiful bar that wraps around. They
- 31:44Speaker 1: got a bar that's right by the stage. He could
- 31:46Speaker 1: look up and see the entertainers. They have a bar
- 31:48Speaker 1: that travels around the room, and so you could order
- 31:52Speaker 1: right from this guy that walks up. He's like, yeah,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I got everything, and so we started with bubbles, got
- 31:56Speaker 1: a glass of wine, and then I got an old
- 31:58Speaker 1: fashion which I don't even normally drink, but just because
- 32:00Speaker 1: the guy was there and he could smoke it, Yeah, amazing.
- 32:05Speaker 1: But then we started to go talk to like, you know,
- 32:07Speaker 1: the guy that invited us out, and this is where
- 32:10Speaker 1: it kind of just became extremely entertaining from a meeting
- 32:14Speaker 1: people perspective. Is as soon as I walked over to
- 32:17Speaker 1: the bar and he's making us. He introduces us to
- 32:20Speaker 1: the the owner of the Sapphire. They walk us around
- 32:23Speaker 1: the kitchen, we meet the chefs. We walked through and
- 32:26Speaker 1: see like the VIP area. Apparently when celebrities come in,
- 32:31Speaker 1: there's a special entrance that you could walk in and
- 32:34Speaker 1: you have your own room over there in the back.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Oh wow, that nobody even knows that you're there.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Did you see Anissa Levs?
- 32:40Speaker 3: Not?
- 32:40Speaker 1: This time. They had one room that was closed off
- 32:42Speaker 1: and they couldn't let us in. I was like, who's
- 32:44Speaker 1: in there? They wouldn't reveal who I saw. I saw
- 32:47Speaker 1: some people when you were there.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I can't reveal you. I do want to get invited back.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Okay, well, I will say he did tell me that,
- 32:53Speaker 1: like a there's somebody that was coming that night that
- 32:56Speaker 1: I didn't I think I didn't stay out long enough.
- 32:58Speaker 1: But he did say, let's say, just a very important
- 33:01Speaker 1: sports figure.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Okay, yes, confirmed. I don't know if it was the
- 33:04Speaker 2: same person, probably not, but but also a very important
- 33:08Speaker 2: sports figure.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I thought that was really cool. He's like, oh, dud,
- 33:10Speaker 1: we're introduce you. I'm like, I got to keep it cool,
- 33:12Speaker 1: like this is yeah, yeah, I belong here. But we
- 33:15Speaker 1: were talking to these people at the bar, and it
- 33:17Speaker 1: was just so funny because it feels very much like
- 33:20Speaker 1: a The Gatsby kind of vibe.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yes, it's very Gatsby.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Everyone's dressed up, which I love. I learned. I love
- 33:26Speaker 1: that about going out. It's Oh, it's nice to have
- 33:28Speaker 1: people that are like looking their best, talking their best
- 33:31Speaker 1: having good conversations, and the guy next to me, as
- 33:34Speaker 1: soon as my girlfriend walked away to go to the
- 33:35Speaker 1: bathroom or something, looks at me.
- 33:37Speaker 3: He's like, dude, jump nicely does It's like.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I didn't even know how to respond. I'm like, yeah, legs,
- 33:45Speaker 1: you know, like high fives all around the bar, like
- 33:48Speaker 1: what the hell is happening? And we stayed just long
- 33:51Speaker 1: enough to want to meet everybody of our great connector's life.
- 33:54Speaker 1: And then we got on the dance floor and just
- 33:56Speaker 1: like tore it up. I mean it was supposed to
- 33:59Speaker 1: be like the girls out there. I walked out, there
- 34:01Speaker 1: were spinning around, I'm bumping into people, making a fool
- 34:04Speaker 1: of ourselves. But had the absolute best time at a
- 34:08Speaker 1: night that I thought I was just going to stay
- 34:09Speaker 1: in and like cook a little steak in an air fryer,
- 34:12Speaker 1: and I was so impressed that I think that's gonna
- 34:14Speaker 1: be the new spot. Was it pricey? Hell to the
- 34:17Speaker 1: yet was?
- 34:20Speaker 2: But thank god the valet's free for the two hundred
- 34:23Speaker 2: dollars meal.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I mean everything that we had, like I was telling Abby,
- 34:27Speaker 1: we had this like little octopus, We had this car
- 34:30Speaker 1: poscio carpaccio. Uh huh, and these duck dumplings. Ooh, I
- 34:34Speaker 1: was and just amazed by the night. Yeah, and it
- 34:39Speaker 1: felt so fancy, but also like not like douchey.
- 34:43Speaker 2: It wasn't it. It's not a pretentious vibe.
- 34:45Speaker 1: No, people were out there having a good time but
- 34:48Speaker 1: dressed up.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yes, I would say Tampa doesn't do pretension very well.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Like even when you go to like meat market, there's
- 34:52Speaker 2: still kind of an era of like it's the normal
- 34:55Speaker 2: people out here.
- 34:56Speaker 1: See, I've heard very different things about meat marketing.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Oh well, meat market. I mean it's very facy, but
- 35:00Speaker 2: I don't think it's pretentious.
- 35:01Speaker 1: That's I want to go just for the facy side.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I want to go just to see what it's truly
- 35:05Speaker 1: like because I have never gone in the twelve years
- 35:07Speaker 1: that I've lived here.
- 35:07Speaker 2: You can absolutely do a happy hour at meat market
- 35:10Speaker 2: and people watch.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I just want to see because I hear there are
- 35:12Speaker 1: certain celebrities in the area that are always.
- 35:14Speaker 2: There, allegedly John Cena.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Allegedly John Cena has this table there that just sits
- 35:18Speaker 1: there casually, which has to be so weird, but I
- 35:20Speaker 1: guess you get used to it. Yeah, But I want
- 35:22Speaker 1: to see because I find it fascinating with people that, like,
- 35:25Speaker 1: I don't want to try to fake like I'm something
- 35:27Speaker 1: that I'm not. Like I'm not some like rich, fancy
- 35:30Speaker 1: ass dude. I'll wear my nice outfit and I'll go
- 35:32Speaker 1: have a nice drink. But I feel like there's some
- 35:34Speaker 1: people that are like trying to have this allure of
- 35:36Speaker 1: like look at me and look at all I have,
- 35:38Speaker 1: when it's like, you don't need to do all that. Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: just relax, enjoy your time, enjoy your friends.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Have a bev, do a little dance.
- 35:45Speaker 1: That's what I was doing on Sunday, and it was day.
- 35:47Speaker 1: We did just dance dance the night away. Got to
- 35:51Speaker 1: meet a lot of interesting folks though. I've are people
- 35:53Speaker 1: that were like looking for men, trying to connect people
- 35:56Speaker 1: with different like couples. Very fascinating, and I think I
- 36:00Speaker 1: had a couple like older men hitting on me whoa
- 36:03Speaker 1: at the bar that was interested.
- 36:05Speaker 2: They're like, maybe we can get to his girlfriend through him.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Maybe. So seeing friends out there, we saw one of
- 36:10Speaker 1: our friends in the Saint Pete Gals that was celebrating
- 36:12Speaker 1: her daughter's twenty first birthday.
- 36:13Speaker 2: There, so fun.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I was amazed. I was like, this is the new
- 36:16Speaker 1: spot The only bad thing is it's in Tampa. It's
- 36:19Speaker 1: in Tampa, so it wasn't like the greatest drive there,
- 36:24Speaker 1: but very worth it. Very impressed.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Come on over to the dark side.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm not moving to Tampa, absolutely not. I know I
- 36:30Speaker 1: will go and visit, but I will say the next
- 36:32Speaker 1: time you go, I want to do. This is where
- 36:34Speaker 1: I get a little crazy. I'm like, they had the
- 36:36Speaker 1: private rooms in the back. That needs to be some
- 36:39Speaker 1: sort of celebratory thing of We joked about it with
- 36:41Speaker 1: our boss, like when we hit like a certain number,
- 36:44Speaker 1: like a certain ratings of having a celebratory dinner in
- 36:47Speaker 1: the back in that private room like the vip entrance.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I want to walk through the vip entrance just to
- 36:52Speaker 1: see what it's like.
- 36:53Speaker 2: What was the restaurant that we brought up. Was it
- 36:54Speaker 2: Burns or it was the Sapphire. It was a Sapphire.
- 36:58Speaker 1: There's no place like it.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Though.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I did like that they kept coming up and it's
- 37:01Speaker 1: so hard because the waitress was so nice, like truly
- 37:05Speaker 1: felt like we had this bond and I was getting
- 37:08Speaker 1: up this morning, I'm like, I wonder if she did
- 37:09Speaker 1: that just for the tip, because she definitely walked away
- 37:12Speaker 1: with a great tip. But also I was like, I
- 37:14Speaker 1: hope we really had a good connection. I hope we
- 37:16Speaker 1: really are friends in.
- 37:17Speaker 2: There now she used you for money.
- 37:19Speaker 1: It was a good It was so funny though they
- 37:22Speaker 1: had like seven different people like waiting on us. I
- 37:24Speaker 1: was like, what the hell, Like, we don't need that many,
- 37:26Speaker 1: But I think it was because.
- 37:26Speaker 2: We are in that specific seat, we were.
- 37:29Speaker 1: In the person's actual table that they had. But I
- 37:31Speaker 1: was impressed. I was like, it was everything that it
- 37:33Speaker 1: lived up to be and more.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Well, I'm so glad you had a good time.
- 37:36Speaker 1: It was very worth it, everything that we needed. But
- 37:39Speaker 1: then Sunday I was talking about this on or on
- 37:40Speaker 1: Monday on the air, how I almost killed a family
- 37:43Speaker 1: at the beach. Oh god, that was a mistake. Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 1: that will almost ruined the weekend. But I've never done
- 37:48Speaker 1: that where we went out to the beach and we
- 37:49Speaker 1: got an umbrella. Yeah, and as we're sitting there with
- 37:51Speaker 1: our subs eating it, and the umbrella goes flying and
- 37:54Speaker 1: it's like, I kid you not like it sounds like
- 37:57Speaker 1: I'm exaggerating. The umbrella was heading straight for like this
- 37:59Speaker 1: little kid, I believe it probably six years old. And
- 38:02Speaker 1: I got to chase down and like dive and grab
- 38:04Speaker 1: it before it's like a foot away from this kid's face.
- 38:06Speaker 1: I'm like, okay that I want to do more of,
- 38:09Speaker 1: but I want to do it in a safer way.
- 38:11Speaker 1: And I honestly, I don't know how because I thought
- 38:13Speaker 1: everyone just dug it into the ground and it was fine.
- 38:15Speaker 1: It was not fine.
- 38:16Speaker 2: There's a science to it.
- 38:17Speaker 1: There's a science that we have to learn. But it
- 38:18Speaker 1: was fun. We got to use the sun Runner, which
- 38:20Speaker 1: that was a little gem of Saint Pete not even
- 38:23Speaker 1: have to drive drive down there.
- 38:24Speaker 3: They dropped this off a weekend. Well, spent more weekends
- 38:28Speaker 3: like this? More three day weekends.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Well, I don't think that's gonna happen for a little bit.
- 38:33Speaker 2: You never know, it might more weekends like this.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I need somebody to run for office that says that,
- 38:38Speaker 1: more three day weekends.
- 38:39Speaker 2: More three day weekends, and more Beatbox more for the
- 38:41Speaker 2: best summer ever.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Let's get you into Beatbox. Beatbox, as we mentioned, is
- 38:47Speaker 1: a big sponsor to this podcast, So they're sending you
- 38:49Speaker 1: out to Bonnaroo, hooking you up with a thousand dollars
