- 0:09Speaker 1: Let's just talk about Michael Parsons, who you know very
- 0:11well from State.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, the Packers.
- 0:13Speaker 3: How will fit Kenny Clark, who's a pretty good football player,
- 0:16how he fits in with Dallas?
- 0:19Speaker 4: Well, Michael Parsons fits in anywhere because he's you know,
- 0:23arguably one of the what would you say, maybe one of.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The three best four best pass rushers in the league.
- 0:28Speaker 4: You know, when you start naming those names, you know,
- 0:31you think of the Garretts, the Watts, the nick Boss.
- 0:35Who am I leaving out? I know, I'm leaving out
- 0:38somebody covering most of them? Yeah what I mean? And
- 0:41he's younger than all those guys. He's twenty six, I believe,
- 0:46you know. And he went to a team that predominantly
- 0:49plays a four man front. You know, they're not a
- 0:52five man front defense. They're a four man front defense.
- 0:55And by the way, they had the highest percentage of
- 0:57stunting in the league last year on third down, which
- 1:00which kind of plays to what Parsons is because he's
- 1:02a move around guy. So now you move him around,
- 1:05you stunt. You know, he's so flexible and explosive that
- 1:09he can be part of any stunt concept. It's a
- 1:12really good fit for Michael Parsons. You know, I'm not
- 1:16going to get caught up in what Dallas could have gotten.
- 1:18That's who knows the answer to that. You know, maybe
- 1:20you guys. You guys have more of those conversations with
- 1:23people I don't, so I'm not going to go there.
- 1:26But Kenny Clark, you know, he's thirty years old. He's
- 1:30a good player. I think he's probably starting a slight decline.
- 1:34My sense was he wasn't quite as dominant a player
- 1:38this past year as he was in previous years when
- 1:41he was an overlooked great player. But you know, he's
- 1:48he's a good player, he's solid. They you know, I
- 1:51think in some ways this speaks to the fact that
- 1:54and I'm surprised by this, but you know, sometimes you
- 1:57get guys wrong, or you know, you don't know. But
- 2:00I think this speaks to the fact that Mazie Smith
- 2:02has not become what they hoped he would become.
- 2:05Speaker 3: That's somebody whose tape we all liked coming out of Michigan.
- 2:08Very surprising it hasn't developed yet.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah, sticking with the.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Packers there, their four man rush obviously now becomes Parsons
- 2:16or Sean Gary is part of that. Van that's who
- 2:19they drafted pretty high a couple of years ago, who.
- 2:22Speaker 4: By the way, I always thought would be better inside.
- 2:24And maybe that's a move they will make now that
- 2:26they have Micah Parsons.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and who else would be? Is Devonte Wyatt part
- 2:30of it?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Do they use it? Yes?
- 2:31Speaker 4: And he came on last year, which is why I'm
- 2:33sure they thought that Clark was expendable because DeVante Wyatt
- 2:38started to play, was a first round pick obviously out
- 2:40of Georgia, and it took him a little bit to
- 2:42get acclimated to the NFL game. His first year he
- 2:45was a non factor. But he's improved each and every
- 2:48year and he has I wouldn't call him a dominant
- 2:52inside pass rusher, but he has passed rush trades.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And the other thing to keep in mind.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Is Edrian Cooper, the linebacker, who's an explode explosive athlete.
- 3:01He was a big time blitzer at Texas A and M.
- 3:05He's a really good pass rusher. So I'm sure that
- 3:08Jeff Hafley now is going to be doing a lot
- 3:10of tinkering and he has. He has a lot of
- 3:13tools in the toolbox. Now, remember with Fan outes. He
- 3:16was drafted for the thirty four I remember it was
- 3:18the last year of Joe Barry and then forty three,
- 3:22and that he's just been a non factor. So the
- 3:24hohope is I think ultimately he's a better When I
- 3:27watched him coming out, and I actually had this conversation
- 3:30with Matt Bowen, who's obviously an Iowa guy, you know,
- 3:33and and and Matt's really close to the program, and
- 3:35we both agreed, you know, and Matt certainly is closer
- 3:38than I am, that he's really best suited to probably
- 3:42be an inside pass rusher, you know, as opposed to
- 3:45an edge player. So again, I don't know if that's
- 3:47their plan, but there's no question in pure past situations,
- 3:51the edge players are going to be Michael Parsons and
- 3:53Rashaun Garry.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's not going to be Van Ness. Right.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Does the addition of Kenny Clark in your mind? You know,
- 3:59Dallas has struggled in two areas, one being stopping the
- 4:02run even before they get into their pass rush. Greg
- 4:06Does Clark next to uh Digizua improve them from an
- 4:11interior line?
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:13Speaker 4: And Clark's a solid pro. I mean, like I said,
- 4:15he may not be dominant or Diggi Zu is a
- 4:17nice player. You know, he's a good athlete. He can
- 4:20rush the quarterback.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah. That that makes them solid.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And you know, and we'll get into this more, you know,
- 4:26next week obviously, but that makes them solid, you know
- 4:29in the interior. You know, Kenny Clark's just he's just
- 4:31a really good pro. I mean he may not be
- 4:33the exact same player, but he's just a really good pro.
- 4:36And Adgi Zoo is still a young player and he's
- 4:38a good player.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And you know, obviously the Cowboys have used some high
- 4:42second round picks on pass rushers Marshall and that's.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That's the next question.
- 4:46Speaker 4: And you know, and and you know, a role can
- 4:50as there was the Boston college kid. I always I
- 4:53don't want to mispronounce, you know, yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 5:00You know, obviously they would count on him, you know,
- 5:02to maybe not play sixty STAPs a game, but to
- 5:05be in a situation where we could rush the quarterback.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Did they bring back Fowler, Yes, yes, they did.
- 5:10Speaker 4: It's you Yeah, there's there's a number of D linemen
- 5:15who wherever they go kind of play well maybe not superstars.
- 5:19Valer sort of fits into that category. Like you know,
- 5:22Mario Edwards fits into that category. Jehad Ward fits into
- 5:26that category. There are guys like that that for whatever reason,
- 5:30they're always with there were like a different.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Team every year, but they play well. You know.
- 5:35Speaker 4: So Fowler is certainly not, you know, a dominant edge player,
- 5:39but you can line him up on the edge and
- 5:40he can rush the quarterback right.
- 5:42Speaker 3: And of course Sam Williams another second rounder from a
- 5:44year a couple got hurt.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah, very intriguing player coming out of college I remember.
- 5:49And Adam MILLI remember this too. He had some character issues,
- 5:51but he really got He's got talent.
