- 0:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time presented by
- 0:08Speaker 1: prize picks. My name is Beaumont Jones.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Thanks for listening.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Wherever you get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe,
- 0:15Speaker 1: like rate us, review us, give us five stars. You
- 0:18Speaker 1: only give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you
- 0:21Speaker 1: are a hater. Um, if I was a hater, I'd
- 0:25Speaker 1: start talking bad about people to start the show, but no,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you're going to have to hang on for that bit
- 0:30Speaker 1: of goodness. In the meantime, um, it appears that the
- 0:34Speaker 1: best quarterback I have ever seen has returned. Patrick Mahomes
- 0:40Speaker 1: against the Colts. I do want to throw this out here.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That game went to overtime, which certainly is not an
- 0:46Speaker 1: encouraging thing.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Went to at the last very second to overtime.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Literally, literally, right?
- 0:52Speaker 1: I understand that if you are the Chiefs, that is
- 0:55Speaker 1: certainly not what you want, right?
- 0:59Speaker 2: However, right? I think we'd both agree.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Mahomes looked like a dude coming off ACL tear in
- 1:04Speaker 1: week one. I thought he looked kind of like Patrick
- 1:08Speaker 1: Mahomes in week two.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Especially with, you know, now what we used to think
- 1:13Speaker 3: about those receivers and now what we think about this
- 1:15Speaker 3: group of receivers.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yo, I was just about to say, because God knows
- 1:18Speaker 1: they need him. My goodness.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Let me tell you something.
- 1:21Speaker 1: If they need Patrick Kelsey, I mean, Patrick Kelsey. Wow.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I don't even know who I was making. Oh, Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:28Speaker 2: There we go. I was like, who am I even
- 1:30Speaker 2: making him?
- 1:31Speaker 1: If they need Travis Kelsey to get nine catches for
- 1:34Speaker 1: a hundred something yards in order for.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Them to win, they got problems.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:38Speaker 2: They, they, they, they've got problems.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Like when you look down and the second leading receiver
- 1:42Speaker 1: was Taequann Thornton, who by the way, wasn't bad.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Rasheed Rice. I saw him make that one big play, right?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Not bad. Xavier Worthy.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I just don't think it's, as my brother says, there's
- 1:55Speaker 1: weight classes for a reason.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Is he a featherweight?
- 2:00Speaker 2: He is a featherweight.
- 2:01Speaker 1: He's so fast, though. Like, he was so good in college.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And I firmly, what it does, I feel like what
- 2:06Speaker 1: Worthy does is helps you understand how special Tyreek was.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Because Tyreek is much more in the running back build
- 2:15Speaker 1: sort of thing. And look, it's not just that he
- 2:17Speaker 1: was fast. It's that he had crazy acceleration. He's quick
- 2:21Speaker 1: side to side. Like, it was all the things. And
- 2:23Speaker 1: Xavier Worthy is just.
- 2:24Speaker 3: He also had track speed and NFL speed. Yes. Which
- 2:27Speaker 3: are two very, very different things.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Well, Xavier Worthy has track speed.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And I think he has NFL speed. But he ain't
- 2:35Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Like, it's just not that. Like, that receiving core.
- 2:41Speaker 2: We don't expect them to.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Do what they did here every week, I think is
- 2:44Speaker 1: the best way to put it. There's nobody that you
- 2:47Speaker 1: truly feel like you can count on. Now, look, now
- 2:49Speaker 1: that Rasheed Wright's out of jail, right, maybe his mind's
- 2:52Speaker 1: a little bit clearer. I don't know. I mean, because
- 2:55Speaker 1: he certainly had been treated and observed and seemed like
- 2:58Speaker 1: somebody that you thought could be that guy. But it
- 3:01Speaker 1: doesn't feel like they've got that guy.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It does feel like they got a hammer, though.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Like, I will not be surprised if Kenneth Walker leads
- 3:09Speaker 1: the league in rushing this.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Year, will you?
- 3:11Speaker 3: No, especially because they're clearly committed to it. That's clearly
- 3:14Speaker 3: what they've decided to do all season long. They gave
- 3:17Speaker 3: him the big contract. Yes. And, I mean, they've decided,
- 3:21Speaker 3: you know, trying to protect Patrick Mahomes for that long
- 3:24Speaker 3: is kind of a fool's errand. So let's just, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 3: Andy Vlade always likes to run the ball, and he's
- 3:29Speaker 3: certainly going to like to this year.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And I am here for a 20-carrier game running back.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Bring it back. I am here for it. That is
- 3:38Speaker 1: simply the way that I believe this game is supposed
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be played. But look, if you can do that, right,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you can hammer them on the ground, and Mahomes is
- 3:46Speaker 1: going to give you 380 yards. Hey, hey, they might
- 3:51Speaker 1: have something. The counterpoint, of course, is there's no good
- 3:57Speaker 1: reason that they should have given up 30 points to
- 4:00Speaker 1: the Mahomes.
- 4:01Speaker 3: No, to Daniel Jones on one leg.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Not in that game, not in that way. Now, yes,
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Colts do have... I don't remember if I've told
- 4:07Speaker 1: you this or I've said this on the show. This
- 4:09Speaker 1: is a hot take, but I think it's so right
- 4:12Speaker 1: that it's not even hot. Jonathan Taylor is literally the
- 4:16Speaker 1: most underrated player in the history of football.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Right, because he's like... Isn't he a top five college
- 4:25Speaker 3: all-time yards guy?
- 4:26Speaker 1: Number six.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But in three years.
- 4:31Speaker 1: He ran for 6,000 yards in three years, and I
- 4:35Speaker 1: don't think he got to be a Heisman finalist.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:39Speaker 1: What are we talking about here, right? He's run for something, like,
- 4:42Speaker 1: he's had an 1,800-yard season. He's averaged over 10 touchdowns
- 4:45Speaker 1: a game. Like, even with the injuries that he's had
- 4:48Speaker 1: as an NFL running back. Like, he has an all-time
- 4:54Speaker 1: resume in a lot of ways, and he's just, like,
- 4:56Speaker 1: a dude in the NFL, right? Like, I thought... I
- 5:00Speaker 1: agree with Steichen where people thought he played it safe
- 5:02Speaker 1: late with running the ball.
- 5:04Speaker 2: He's like, no, I'm giving the ball to my best player.
- 5:06Speaker 2: We're going to try to win this.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You want me to win and you want me to
- 5:11Speaker 1: tell Daniel Jones to do it.
- 5:13Speaker 4: What?
- 5:15Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Make your fucking mind up.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Right. Especially if their best receiver left the game with
- 5:20Speaker 3: an injury halfway through.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, what are we talking? I know. But again, for
- 5:25Speaker 1: the Chiefs, it was not encouraging to me that it
- 5:27Speaker 1: came down in this game the way that it did, right?
- 5:31Speaker 2: But look, they're coming off. They beat the Broncos by
- 5:34Speaker 2: three touchdowns.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Now granted, they got to play both games at home,
- 5:36Speaker 1: but they beat the Broncos by three touchdowns. They squeaked
- 5:40Speaker 1: this one out with serious cause for optimism. Now they
- 5:45Speaker 1: just got to keep up with the high fly Raiders.
- 5:51Speaker 1: The Raiders are 2-0.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Right. Kirk Cousins.
- 5:55Speaker 1: With Kirk Cousins. And Kirk Cousins, who riot, I don't,
- 6:00Speaker 1: You're going to know this when I say it. It's
- 6:02Speaker 1: just going to sound a little crazy. Kirk Cousins in
- 6:06Speaker 1: his 15th year in the league. You never could have
- 6:11Speaker 1: told me that he was going to stick around in
- 6:14Speaker 1: this league for 15 years.
- 6:20Speaker 3: You might have a few more too.
- 6:23Speaker 1: We'll get to why he will in a second, but
- 6:25Speaker 1: me as the guy who in his fourth year was like,
- 6:27Speaker 1: fuck out of here with this. And then it started
- 6:29Speaker 1: turning around a little bit after that. It's a wild story.
- 6:31Speaker 1: We'll have to talk about that a little later. It
- 6:33Speaker 1: feels like forever ago.
- 6:35Speaker 2: But he can stick around for a while for one
- 6:36Speaker 2: big reason, man.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Vibes. Vibes. And right now, like, Kirk Cousins clearly, and
- 6:44Speaker 1: the Raiders have a history of this, right? And that
- 6:46Speaker 1: is to say, they are a franchise who believes in
- 6:49Speaker 1: the value of representation. And this is what I mean. Remember,
- 6:53Speaker 1: they're the first team to have a black head coach,
- 6:55Speaker 1: first team to have a Latino head coach, first team
- 6:58Speaker 1: to have a woman in charge of.
- 7:00Speaker 2: The whole operation.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They were fairly early on the black quarterback program, even,
- 7:06Speaker 1: you know, if they didn't stick around with it as long.
- 7:08Speaker 2: As I would have expected in some ways.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But whatever. Right. Like there's a there's a lot of
- 7:11Speaker 1: raiderness there in terms of representation.
- 7:14Speaker 2: But it also goes in directions that you might.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Not think of. And for them, they recognize how in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the world is Fernando Mendoza supposed to believe that a
- 7:23Speaker 1: dork like him could ever be successful in the NFL
- 7:27Speaker 1: without providing him an example. You know what I mean?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Like if you can see it, you can be it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And that's, that's why representation matters. Ron Rivera saw Tom Flores.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Um, What do you call it?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin.
- 7:46Speaker 2: He saw our show. Fernando Mendoza. He sees Kirk Cousins.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Maybe over at Kirk Cousins' house, drinking Shirley Temples, watching film.
- 7:56Speaker 2: A little Bible study.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Whole nine, right? They got
- 8:02Speaker 1: a chance. But yeah, they are two. No, this is
- 8:04Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins coming off. It was two years removed from
- 8:07Speaker 1: the Achilles? Right. Actually, I think the Raiders are kind
- 8:10Speaker 1: of doing themselves a bit of a disservice by racking
- 8:14Speaker 1: up all these victories.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Y'all boys need some pieces. Y'all need parts.
- 8:19Speaker 3: The funny thing is with Kirk Cousins is, you know,
- 8:21Speaker 3: he's always been, you know, the Kyle Shanahan dream quarterback, right? For,
- 8:26Speaker 3: you know, 10 years.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Doesn't make any sense, but yes.
- 8:29Speaker 3: But now, as every team, every one of every three teams,
- 8:34Speaker 3: has a Kyle Shanahan disciple as the head coach.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It's true.
- 8:37Speaker 3: If you need a savvy veteran quarterback to teach you
- 8:40Speaker 3: the system.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It's true.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I mean, by now, we would have, honestly, in 2015
- 8:45Speaker 1: or whatever, I thought that by now, Kirk Cousins would
- 8:47Speaker 1: be with David Blau. What's the other one? Davis Webb.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You know, out there with a baseball cap on. and
- 8:56Speaker 1: the call sheet and the headset, like all of that.
- 8:58Speaker 3: One of the Doyles, yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He'd be out here. You figured that
- 9:01Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins would be out here calling plays. Man, Kirk
- 9:04Speaker 1: Cousins is so goddamn rich. He ain't calling no plays
- 9:06Speaker 1: after this is over. No chance. No chance.
- 9:10Speaker 2: In fact, he's still out here doing it. Can't believe it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Shout out to you, Drake May, by the way.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Pittsburgh. We'll talk more about the not great teams later, but,
- 9:23Speaker 1: oh boy, they're, they're, Their quarterback is cooked. It's over.
- 9:28Speaker 3: It was a good time.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. It was a long time, too.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Right?
- 9:33Speaker 1: But I can't believe they saw what he did last
- 9:36Speaker 1: year and thought, hey, you know what? We can do
- 9:38Speaker 1: that again.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Do that again with his old coach who he ran
- 9:41Speaker 3: out of town 10 years ago. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Okay. I want to ask you this, though, about the Eagles,
- 9:46Speaker 1: who are now 2-0 after two what I would term
- 9:49Speaker 1: not quite impressive wins. But I have felt like when
- 9:52Speaker 1: I have watched those games, that Jalen Hurts did look good.
- 9:57Speaker 1: um and they're gonna look kind of right now they're
- 10:00Speaker 1: looking kind of last laughy when it comes to the
- 10:03Speaker 1: a.j brown trade because a.j brown is hurt and the
- 10:07Speaker 1: offense doesn't look any worse in philadelphia without him and.
- 10:11Speaker 3: It looks and it looks like they're better throwing the
- 10:14Speaker 3: ball down the field.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yes, he looks so much more confident. Maybe they finally got,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you know, got through to him. I don't know.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Or maybe it's Mannion, the new offensive coordinator, right? Maybe
- 10:22Speaker 2: that's part of it.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't know. But at the same time, they played
- 10:25Speaker 1: two bad teams and barely beat both.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yes, beat two terrible teams by a combined six points.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do
- 10:33Speaker 1: with that because I'm here to give all the Jalen
- 10:35Speaker 1: Hurts credit that people say I don't give. But what's
- 10:38Speaker 1: going on here, right? That being said, did you see
- 10:41Speaker 1: the temperatures on the field in that game? They said
- 10:45Speaker 1: that the temperature of the turf was 157 degrees, and
- 10:49Speaker 1: they kept playing.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:52Speaker 1: That's the thing. Football, only thing, what we learned, the
- 10:55Speaker 1: only thing that'll stop football is lightning. We have learned
- 10:59Speaker 1: that somebody dying, or at least the appearance of dying.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Temporarily dying.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that eventually stopped it.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 2: But there was no protocol for that. Only for lightning.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Do we have a protocol of we're just not going
- 11:15Speaker 1: to play? Which says a lot about the power of lightning.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And you know what I think that comes down to?
- 11:21Speaker 2: That's all about the Bible, baby. Don't nobody want to
- 11:23Speaker 2: get smoked.
- 11:25Speaker 3: So your take is people are scared of lightning because
- 11:29Speaker 3: it's like the physical manifestation of getting smited from on high?
- 11:33Speaker 2: I mean, yes.
- 11:34Speaker 1: That is basically what I think it is. That's the
- 11:37Speaker 1: only explanation. Everything else, they just keep fucking playing.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I do think it's funny. It's like, it's definitely 160
- 11:45Speaker 3: degrees on the field.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But it might strike lightning.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Right. That's what I'm saying. But you know what?
- 11:52Speaker 2: Oh, I think here's what the other part is. I
- 11:54Speaker 2: think this may be what it comes down to.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It's 150 degrees on the field where we don't sell tickets.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Correct. There are no paying customers on the field.
- 12:05Speaker 2: They don't really see what the big deal is. But Lightning.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Lightning, that's going to get you sued. It was ridiculous
- 12:14Speaker 1: in that game for those conditions. Shout out to the
- 12:17Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. They did what they got to do, man.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Do enough just to keep us out here. Keep us thinking.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Right.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Offensively, they look really good.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I mean, Dak Prescott at home versus an NFC East opponent.
- 12:29Speaker 3: It's almost automatic at this point. Count it.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Right. Just count it. Denver, way to save your season
- 12:36Speaker 1: there because it wasn't looking so great there.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Ryan, you said it best.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You have these games where Trevor Lawrence is great except
- 12:43Speaker 1: for the fourth quarter. And then you have these games
- 12:46Speaker 1: where Bo Nix can't do anything except in the fourth quarter.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And they happened at the same time.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Correct.
- 12:51Speaker 2: They're the exact same game.
- 12:53Speaker 3: It is really remarkable because that has been the case.
- 12:56Speaker 3: for Bo Nix for about seven years.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It's got to be more than seven. He was in
- 13:00Speaker 1: college for seven, wasn't he?
- 13:01Speaker 3: I think he was in college for five, and this
- 13:03Speaker 3: is year three.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I thought he was in college for six.
- 13:07Speaker 3: It might have been six, but whatever.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It felt like a long time. It's so interesting, and
- 13:14Speaker 1: I think it's just because Bo Nix was so much
- 13:16Speaker 1: more visible, but your guy, Tyler Shuck, came out of
- 13:19Speaker 1: here with a big win over the weekend.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck is old as hell, too.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Same high school class as Trevor Lawrence.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But he doesn't feel nearly as old as Bo Nix
- 13:32Speaker 1: did because we watched Bo Nix have two full careers
- 13:37Speaker 1: at two different schools. Even if you didn't know that
- 13:41Speaker 1: Bo Nix had played at Auburn, you would have seen
- 13:44Speaker 1: Bo Nix play at Oregon and still felt like, damn, he's.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Been here forever.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:49Speaker 1: He's like basketball Scotty Reynolds. I mean, football Scotty Reynolds.
- 13:53Speaker 1: You're like, damn, how have you been here for so long?
- 13:56Speaker 1: And now he's in year three. So when he came
- 13:58Speaker 1: out of college, there's no way you were going to
- 14:00Speaker 1: tell me that he was going to get better. He
- 14:02Speaker 1: was 30. As far as I was concerned, I thought
- 14:05Speaker 1: he was in his prime. The second he stepped out,
- 14:07Speaker 1: he might as well have been Brandon Wheaton for me.
- 14:10Speaker 1: He might as well have gone and played minor league
- 14:11Speaker 1: baseball first. Like he really might have. You still can't
- 14:15Speaker 1: get me to buy into this. I just can't. He
- 14:17Speaker 1: was really good that last playoff game before he got hurt.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I don't know what it's going to take. I don't
- 14:23Speaker 1: know if I've ever been more dug in based on
- 14:26Speaker 1: my priors with somebody.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Like I am with this guy.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And it's just because I already saw him play for
- 14:36Speaker 1: a gazillion years.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Already did. Anybody else have a good time this week?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Way to go, Matt LaFleur, because it was about to
- 14:46Speaker 1: be super hot on your key street if you'd have
- 14:49Speaker 1: come out here and lost to the Jets.
- 14:51Speaker 3: They were down 10 in the fourth quarter. And then
- 14:53Speaker 3: Aaron Glenn bungled that. He's not going to be there
- 14:57Speaker 3: for long.
- 15:00Speaker 1: The Aaron Glenn thing. I didn't feel like if you
- 15:07Speaker 1: watch the Lions a lot, you really felt great about
- 15:12Speaker 1: him as like a coordinator.
- 15:16Speaker 2: He wasn't bad.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:18Speaker 1: But that was not, we were not watching Brian Flores
- 15:23Speaker 1: over there. Okay.
- 15:25Speaker 2: But if you watch.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Like hard knocks and watch the way that he interacted
- 15:29Speaker 1: with the team, you saw, Oh, okay.
- 15:32Speaker 2: We might got ourselves a head coach here.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Like it was, it was very clear in the way.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 3: He had that.
- 15:40Speaker 2: He's so bad at press conferences.
- 15:44Speaker 1: And a significant part of the job that he has
- 15:49Speaker 1: is being good.
- 15:50Speaker 2: At press conferences. Specifically that job.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He's bad at them and makes decisions that require press
- 16:00Speaker 1: conference explanations.
- 16:03Speaker 2: This is the last year for him. He will not
- 16:05Speaker 2: be there.
- 16:10Speaker 1: For much longer, and I will not be marching in
- 16:14Speaker 1: the streets behind that case. But that's who had good weeks.
- 16:20Speaker 1: We're going to talk about who had bad weeks in
- 16:22Speaker 1: just a second. And I'm just going to tell you
- 16:24Speaker 1: that somehow the answer is not who you think.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And that other one, it's not that one either. What
- 16:33Speaker 2: do I mean?
- 16:40Speaker 1: All right, so Ryan, I think of myself as a
- 16:45Speaker 1: good friend. It's kind of like, to me, it's like
- 16:49Speaker 1: somewhat central to my self-concept. Like, to me, it's very
- 16:52Speaker 1: important that I be.
- 16:54Speaker 3: A good friend. It's part of who you are, who
- 16:55Speaker 3: you want to be.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so I want to be. That's probably the best way.
- 16:57Speaker 1: It's not my place to answer these questions, right? But
- 16:59Speaker 1: it's certainly part of who I want to be. So
- 17:01Speaker 1: there was a third down play in the first quarter.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I want to say third and 12. And Caleb Williams
- 17:06Speaker 1: went out there and did some old Tecmo Bowl type
- 17:09Speaker 1: shit to get away from the pass rush, right, all
- 17:11Speaker 1: the way to the other side of the field. And
- 17:12Speaker 1: it only turned out to be a four-yard run. Like,
- 17:15Speaker 1: it wasn't a great play, but it was an incredible
- 17:17Speaker 1: feat of athleticism. And so I got on to FaceTime,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and I called my good buddy Danny Parkins, and he
- 17:23Speaker 1: was on the couch at his house, and I just
- 17:26Speaker 1: saw the happiness and satisfaction that had washed over his
- 17:30Speaker 1: face as that play went. And then after that, I
- 17:34Speaker 1: hit up a man, Goff, And, you know, Goff already
- 17:38Speaker 1: all the way in on this. Goff can't go back
- 17:41Speaker 1: to living like he used to, right? Goff already acting.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Like he's been like this his whole life, having a quarterback.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the bad times are over.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah. The bad times are over. The bad times never happen.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:54Speaker 1: You know, when you got a good quarterback, right? He's
- 17:58Speaker 1: all the way in.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:59Speaker 1: So that game was played in some serious rain, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: I stopped watching it.
- 18:05Speaker 2: For that reason. It was just too.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Much rain, and the offenses were bad. It was Carson
- 18:10Speaker 1: Wentz on the other side. On one hand, it was like, oh,
- 18:15Speaker 1: Brian Flores, you're such a beast, right? On the other hand,
- 18:18Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears only gave up nine points, and at
- 18:21Speaker 1: the point I'm discussing, had only given up six. So clearly,
- 18:26Speaker 1: the weather had a lot, lot, lot to do this. Like,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I am not sure that the Bulls are going to
- 18:33Speaker 1: give up more points a game this year coming than
- 18:36Speaker 1: the Bears do. Just not sure, okay? So I stopped
- 18:40Speaker 1: watching that game, and I flipped it over, and I
- 18:43Speaker 1: started watching Baltimore and the Saints, which we'll get to.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Then out of nowhere, I got a text from Goff
- 18:56Speaker 2: that said that I, quote, season over.
- 19:04Speaker 1: But I had no idea what he was talking about
- 19:07Speaker 1: because I wasn't watching that game. And so I didn't
- 19:09Speaker 1: really see it. I didn't really give it no thought.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I think it happened while I was in the kitchen
- 19:14Speaker 1: making some food, right? So I didn't really give it no.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Thought, okay?
- 19:19Speaker 1: And then I saw that Caleb Williams was not simply injured,
- 19:24Speaker 1: but was carted off of the field.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Which, this weird-ass mustache.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Thing he's going for is one thing. But, like, they
- 19:34Speaker 1: carted him off the field on a non-contact injury?
- 19:38Speaker 2: They said it was a hamstring, but they carted him
- 19:41Speaker 2: off the field. And I was like, damn. I called Parkins.
- 19:47Speaker 1: He ain't even answering. He later told me he had
- 19:52Speaker 1: never paid less attention to a four o'clock slate in
- 19:55Speaker 1: his life. You know, my Chicago guys, man. And then
- 20:01Speaker 1: I was on Instagram this morning and Parkins had the
- 20:05Speaker 1: most obnoxiously incorrect take about that game. that one could
- 20:10Speaker 1: possibly imagine. And I'm like, man, they're going to be
- 20:13Speaker 1: firing your ass up today, boy. I know it, Bears fans.
- 20:18Speaker 1: This has got to be tough. This has got to
- 20:21Speaker 1: be tough. I remember when y'all were talking yourselves into
- 20:24Speaker 1: Tyler Bajent, Tyson Bajent?
- 20:26Speaker 3: Tyson Bajent.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Tyson, okay.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I remember when y'all was talking yourselves into that one.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I can't remember if that was before or after Caleb
- 20:34Speaker 1: Williams got there. It's always possible when you got a
- 20:37Speaker 1: quarter black The nearest white man, it's kind of like
- 20:40Speaker 1: a police situation. You know what I mean? Like, if
- 20:43Speaker 1: there ain't no police around, the nearest white man can
- 20:45Speaker 1: deputize himself.
- 20:46Speaker 2: It's kind of like that when you got.
- 20:48Speaker 1: A quarter black, people always ready to go to the
- 20:50Speaker 1: next one. But you guys saw very quickly, y'all need
- 20:53Speaker 1: y'all's Iceman back, like, ASAP. Who, by the way, I'm
- 20:57Speaker 1: warning right now, that mustache situation he got going, you're
- 21:00Speaker 1: starting to look a little bit too much like Jason
- 21:02Speaker 1: Campbell and the locals remember him.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Now that is a name I haven't heard in a
- 21:08Speaker 3: long time.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just letting you know right now, man.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It's not going to get you necessarily, like, that's not
- 21:14Speaker 1: the reminder that they're looking for when it comes to you.
- 21:19Speaker 1: But Minnesota's got to feel great. They squeaked out two
- 21:22Speaker 1: wins with Carson Wentz.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I don't know what the Kyler Murray situation, I still
- 21:26Speaker 1: think Kyler Murray is, you could do a lot worse,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I guess is what I'm saying. They squeaked out these wins.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I saw Dominique talking about Flores. He said Flores is
- 21:36Speaker 1: out there working like this sorcery, sorcery out there on dudes.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like this is, this is, this is going to be
- 21:44Speaker 1: a very interesting one, but even with Caleb Williams on
- 21:47Speaker 1: one leg, though, I saw that apparently he walked out
- 21:51Speaker 1: of the stadium on his own two legs with no
- 21:53Speaker 1: sort of adornment or anything like no, no medical stuff on. So,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you know, as golf said, maybe he got some Paul
- 22:01Speaker 1: Pierce in him, you know, maybe he, that guy, Right?
- 22:05Speaker 1: He just, you know, who else is on that list?
- 22:08Speaker 1: Those dudes that always look like they about to die.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And then next thing you know, it's just.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Like, oh, he's straight.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Well, Bron had a run like that for a while.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, like the Bron's got that. Uh,
- 22:19Speaker 2: does your little homie got that?
- 22:21Speaker 3: Which one?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Uh, the old one. Not the new one. The first one.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Oh, a little bit. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Like that's a, I mean, it's a, it's a, it's
- 22:30Speaker 2: a prime trick.
- 22:31Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: But, uh, The Chargers, guys, it's looking real bad over there.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Real bad.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It's looking real bad.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Because it's not just that they lost these two games
- 22:42Speaker 1: at home. Both at home, right?
- 22:45Speaker 3: Both at home. Two bad teams. Two bad teams, nearly
- 22:49Speaker 3: double-digit favorites.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yes. Two bad teams. Now, so this is the thing.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I think all of us agree that Harbaugh is an
- 22:55Speaker 1: excellent coach. But I think one thing we all know
- 22:58Speaker 1: is that Harbaugh burns people out. And so they're in
- 23:01Speaker 1: year three. They went and got Mike McDaniel, who we
- 23:03Speaker 1: all generally think of as a top offensive mind, right?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Like one of these dudes.
- 23:08Speaker 1: You lost to Arizona and you lost to the Raiders
- 23:12Speaker 1: and neither game was close. And this quarterback that everybody's
- 23:19Speaker 1: so invested in look like cheeks again. What are we
- 23:23Speaker 1: doing here? Like, I don't have an answer for this.
- 23:27Speaker 1: You guys are two games behind the Raiders. Now, all
- 23:31Speaker 1: of us reasonably believe that the Raiders are going to
- 23:34Speaker 1: come back down to earth, okay? But you're already two
- 23:38Speaker 1: games behind the Chiefs, right? The Broncos, who they were
- 23:42Speaker 1: just about to be in a dicey situation, but they
- 23:45Speaker 1: pulled out that win over Jacksonville in that game. Okay,
- 23:49Speaker 1: but it is stunning how not good the Chargers have
- 23:54Speaker 1: been At this point. And I don't think this is
- 23:57Speaker 1: something anybody expected walking in the door.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Not good. And Justin Herbert's fumbling all over the field.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't I don't know where this goes.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Right. Like, I don't I don't know if there is
- 24:09Speaker 1: a world in which you decide we're going to fire
- 24:14Speaker 1: John Harbaugh.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I mean, Jim Harbaugh in the middle of the season
- 24:18Speaker 2: or any of those things.
- 24:20Speaker 1: However. Let us run through. the rest of the schedule
- 24:25Speaker 1: for the Chargers. And normally when you do this, you
- 24:28Speaker 1: just run through a stretch of games to prove the point. No,
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm going to read off their next 15 games. Just
- 24:37Speaker 1: so you understand.
- 24:39Speaker 2: At Buffalo. At Seattle.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Home for the Broncos. At the Chiefs.
- 24:48Speaker 2: At the Rams. Home for the Texans. At the Ravens.
- 24:55Speaker 1: And then you get to play the Jets. And then
- 24:59Speaker 1: the Patriots.
- 25:01Speaker 2: At Tampa. At the Raiders, which clearly is.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Not a gimme.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Home for the 49ers. At the Dolphins.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Okay, that's one.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Give them two. Home for the Chiefs. At the Broncos.
- 25:15Speaker 1: The wheels can come off of this really, really fast.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Also, you have to factor in Home for the Chargers,
- 25:24Speaker 3: as we saw in this last game.
- 25:25Speaker 1: That's right. They don't have home.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Home what?
- 25:28Speaker 1: The Chargers and the Raiders both play 17-row games. In fact,
- 25:32Speaker 1: it's very interesting. The Raiders, I think, are more likely
- 25:35Speaker 1: to get a home game hosting the Chargers than the
- 25:38Speaker 1: Chargers are.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Hosting the Raiders. I mean, that was 65-35 Raiders fans
- 25:43Speaker 3: in there yesterday.
- 25:44Speaker 1: There's no question there are more Raiders fans in Los Angeles.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Than there are Chargers fans.
- 25:49Speaker 1: And I don't know how many Chargers fans there are
- 25:51Speaker 1: who care enough to go to Las Vegas for the game.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Like I've said this since they made this decision to
- 25:58Speaker 1: do this, both with the Raiders.
- 26:00Speaker 2: And also with the Chargers.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I think there's a net negative to the league and
- 26:03Speaker 1: the idea that you have teams whose cities don't care
- 26:06Speaker 1: about them.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Like with the Clippers and Steve.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Ballmer, the thing that you have to give Ballmer credit
- 26:11Speaker 1: for is they are Clipper fans now.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Right?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Like they've worked on building an actual base. I don't
- 26:16Speaker 1: see the chance for the Chargers to build a base there.
- 26:20Speaker 1: The Raiders, the problem isn't that they don't have a base.
- 26:23Speaker 1: The problem is that they play in Las Vegas. So
- 26:25Speaker 1: it becomes incredibly attractive for fans of other teams to
- 26:28Speaker 1: pull up and watch them. Um, but the Chargers, no, no, no, no, no.
- 26:34Speaker 1: The wheels can really come off of this. Really, really
- 26:37Speaker 1: come off of this fast. Um, And I don't know
- 26:40Speaker 1: exactly what you do. I also don't know what it's
- 26:42Speaker 1: like to play for Jim Harbaugh if your team is
- 26:44Speaker 1: not good.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that sounds like a not fun time.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you got you this type A maniac, right? Like,
- 26:51Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know exactly what you have
- 26:53Speaker 1: go on there. But they don't have the worst situation
- 26:56Speaker 1: going into next week. Somehow, neither do the Falcons, who
- 27:00Speaker 1: are down to their third string quarterback, whom they benched
- 27:04Speaker 1: for someone I've never. Jack Strand from... Minnesota Moorhead, a
- 27:12Speaker 1: player I've never heard of from a school I've never
- 27:16Speaker 1: heard of, who is 6'5, 240 pounds, and he must
- 27:21Speaker 1: stink if he couldn't find it. He white, right?
- 27:24Speaker 3: I'm going to guess.
- 27:26Speaker 1: He's 6'5, 240. He couldn't get somebody to give him
- 27:28Speaker 1: a chance in the draft. He's ass. There's no question
- 27:33Speaker 1: about that. Falcons on offense got everything except somebody throwing
- 27:36Speaker 1: the ball. Like, I mean, this is... I'm glad I
- 27:42Speaker 1: don't do that anymore. Hey, never time.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'm real glad I don't do that.
- 27:48Speaker 1: The Texans, C.J. Stroud did not play well. They lost again.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But their bright side is, Brian, tell people the record
- 27:58Speaker 1: that whole AFC South has as a whole division.
- 28:01Speaker 3: One and seven.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So their season actually might not beat over, as it
- 28:06Speaker 1: generally is. The Bengals... Hey, they are 2-0 now. The
- 28:14Speaker 1: Stroud thing, man. We had such high hopes.
- 28:18Speaker 2: We had such high hopes.
- 28:18Speaker 1: The same thing with Jaden Daniels. I did not see
- 28:20Speaker 1: what happened to his arm. Did you see what happened
- 28:22Speaker 1: to his arm?
- 28:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it was yucky.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Okay, I heard it was yucky, and therefore... I mean,
- 28:26Speaker 1: Tom Brady said, oh, shit, on television.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I heard it was yucky.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I didn't bother.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I don't do that. You know what I'm saying?
- 28:32Speaker 3: I don't do that either, but I caught it.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm... Dude, it is amazing how far that
- 28:37Speaker 1: thing has fallen in like two years. In two years.
- 28:41Speaker 1: And this doesn't seem like it was an injury on
- 28:43Speaker 1: the basis of, oh my God, he's so skinny and adorable.
- 28:46Speaker 1: That just seems like one of those things that happened.
- 28:49Speaker 1: But again, I ain't look at that. So I ain't
- 28:52Speaker 1: got to go there. Not the worst situation. Baltimore, I
- 28:57Speaker 1: thought Jim Harbaugh, and I'm not saying this sarcastically, I
- 29:00Speaker 1: literally thought John Harbaugh was the problem with them blowing
- 29:04Speaker 1: these leads. It happened again. And guys, they've changed out
- 29:12Speaker 1: a lot of parts when it came to blowing these leads.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Only one of them has stayed the same. And it's
- 29:19Speaker 2: the quarterback. And it's fair to ask, right?
- 29:23Speaker 1: Because he looked awesome.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Awesome for three quarters.
- 29:28Speaker 1: And then they didn't score any more points.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And the Saints walked them down. and then that weird interception.
- 29:38Speaker 1: And I never know what I think sometimes or something.
- 29:40Speaker 1: these passes lamar makes because his throwing motion looks like
- 29:43Speaker 1: he's throwing darts and i think that has a lot
- 29:45Speaker 1: to do with the way that people do not perceive
- 29:47Speaker 1: him as a precision pocket passer he is an awesome
- 29:51Speaker 1: pocket pass and if you were watching most of this
- 29:52Speaker 1: game you saw it he is great but once again
- 29:56Speaker 1: they stop scoring points.
- 30:00Speaker 3: And I don't... Stop giving the ball to Derrick Henry, too.
- 30:04Speaker 1: And again, these are new people. Last year's offensive coordinator
- 30:07Speaker 1: ain't even there. These are all new people. Like, everything
- 30:10Speaker 1: has changed except for the outcome. And I don't know.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I will say I felt like the.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Way that Bateman reacted at that interception, it looked like
- 30:17Speaker 1: he was the one that made the wrong move.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Like, he was supposed to run a different route.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:22Speaker 2: But the same thing keeps happening.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And as much as Lamar Jackson is a surefire Hall
- 30:26Speaker 1: of Famer in all of those things, You are the
- 30:30Speaker 1: thing held constant. We're going to have to figure that out.
- 30:34Speaker 1: But hey, it could get worse. What could happen is
- 30:39Speaker 1: what happened in the Browns and Tampa Bay game. All right?
- 30:45Speaker 2: Todd Bowles, you're done in this town.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Okay? They're down to the 0-2 at this point. And
- 30:54Speaker 1: the worst of it was that game had like the crazy...
- 30:57Speaker 1: lightning delay.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Yeah probably 90 minutes yeah yeah yeah so they had
- 31:02Speaker 3: to drag that out I don't know who watched the
- 31:03Speaker 3: end of that game because we all went to the
- 31:05Speaker 3: game of the week at that point it.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Felt like all of America was getting that game at
- 31:09Speaker 1: a point because it was the last game on and
- 31:11Speaker 1: then they went to the lightning delay and I don't
- 31:13Speaker 1: know if you got the online package but it just
- 31:15Speaker 1: gave us a screen that said this game is in
- 31:17Speaker 1: lightning delay yes like it felt very much old school
- 31:22Speaker 1: TV went off yeah right there's no TV left right
- 31:26Speaker 1: so anyway they gave Baker the money, right? So he's
- 31:32Speaker 1: clearly the guy. He's the one they're riding out with. Bowles,
- 31:35Speaker 1: who I think has been a better coach in this
- 31:36Speaker 1: run than he was with the Jets. Bowles is not
- 31:39Speaker 1: a great coach. And the way this is going, no,
- 31:43Speaker 1: they're going to get Bowles. I mean, thanks for stopping
- 31:45Speaker 1: by the booth. I think he had a good run.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I think he got a fair run. That's all you
- 31:48Speaker 1: can ask for, for a brother in that circumstance. Okay
- 31:51Speaker 1: for you, but you're down 0-2. That's bad news.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Although to be fair, Nobody else is 2-0 in that division.
- 31:59Speaker 2: So let me stop. Maybe, Todd, you're not all the
- 32:02Speaker 2: way done. But you're done-ing.
- 32:05Speaker 1: You're approaching, okay? But that's not who it was the
- 32:10Speaker 1: worst for. That's not even who it was the worst
- 32:12Speaker 1: for in that game.
- 32:14Speaker 2: No question.
- 32:15Speaker 1: The worst is for Cleveland Browns fans. It's not even
- 32:21Speaker 1: the worst for the actual Cleveland Browns, okay? Because the
- 32:25Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns won. It's not bad for them. Todd Monk
- 32:28Speaker 1: has seemed very excited.
- 32:29Speaker 2: You see that?
- 32:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys saw this, but Mike
- 32:32Speaker 1: Tomlin got on television and said, to quote my friend
- 32:35Speaker 1: Juju Smith-Schuster, the Browns is the Browns, which will be
- 32:39Speaker 1: a permanent quote forever. We don't get a lot of
- 32:43Speaker 1: good legendary shit-be-sinking type quotes, right?
- 32:46Speaker 2: The Browns is the Browns. That is... And I love
- 32:50Speaker 2: that Mike Tomlin.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Was Mike Tomlin being a good guy and not stealing
- 32:55Speaker 1: somebody else's joke? Or was Mike Tomlin being passive-aggressive and
- 32:59Speaker 1: attributing that line to somebody else rather than to himself?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Both are on the board.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Also, does that mean that Mike Tomlin has squarely retired
- 33:09Speaker 1: from coaching or that Mike Tomlin was like, or is
- 33:13Speaker 1: it simply Mike Tomlin saying, even if I do come back,
- 33:15Speaker 1: I ain't coaching the fucking Browns?
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm certainly not leaving this TV booth. No, Mike
- 33:21Speaker 3: Tomlin isn't going anywhere.
- 33:22Speaker 2: But the Browns is the Browns.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Tom Buck after the game said the Browns is the Browns.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Fuck that.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Like that really stuck with him. He was really, really
- 33:29Speaker 1: upset about this. Like he was from Cleveland or something.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I guarantee you he was saying the same thing just
- 33:35Speaker 1: last year. All right. But here's the thing. It's not
- 33:41Speaker 1: just that the Browns won. Deshaun Watson, nasty D, played
- 33:49Speaker 1: like D nasty. He had a good game. Let him
- 33:55Speaker 1: down to win the game.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Right. Outplayed Baker, who makes almost as much money as
- 34:01Speaker 3: he does.
- 34:01Speaker 1: And you know that Baker Mayfield was super charged up
- 34:05Speaker 1: about playing against the Browns.
- 34:08Speaker 3: And Deshaun Watson.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 34:10Speaker 1: And I think, wasn't it the Bucs offensive coordinator said
- 34:12Speaker 1: something about how the Browns had their quarterback, but they
- 34:16Speaker 1: messed it up? Yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And Deshaun Watson, right, because that's right. The ending in
- 34:20Speaker 1: Cleveland for Baker was they called Deshaun. They were trying
- 34:23Speaker 1: to trade for Deshaun Watson while they still had Baker.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Baker was like, nah, man, why don't y'all just let
- 34:27Speaker 2: me go? He got on Instagram. It was like, it's
- 34:30Speaker 2: been real. I'm out of here.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Mr.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Chip on his shoulder.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Couldn't get it done.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Mr.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I don't even want to try any of the things
- 34:43Speaker 1: that would go right there.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Right?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Like, normally when I do something like that, I ain't
- 34:48Speaker 1: even decided what I would put after that, but I
- 34:49Speaker 1: could come up with something. Man, it was a lot
- 34:51Speaker 1: of contenders, all of which just felt inappropriate. But anyway,
- 34:57Speaker 1: Nasty D got it done. And so what Browns fans
- 35:00Speaker 1: had been hoping for was that the plan was just
- 35:03Speaker 1: simply that he was going to play bad, and then
- 35:06Speaker 1: for the home opener, they would sit him, and they
- 35:09Speaker 1: would push Shador in as the quarterback. Nope. That's not it.
- 35:16Speaker 1: If you were to put Deshaun Watson on the bench now,
- 35:18Speaker 1: you would honestly have a difficult time saying you were
- 35:20Speaker 1: trying to win. My good buddy Corey Erdman, who is
- 35:26Speaker 1: one of the only two Browns fans I know.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Poor guy.
- 35:29Speaker 2: He's from Canada. He didn't have to do this.
- 35:33Speaker 1: He sent me pictures of memorabilia that was sold or
- 35:38Speaker 1: like T-shirts for that game in Tampa. Towels that say
- 35:43Speaker 1: go away number four. A t-shirt that says, 230 million
- 35:49Speaker 1: guaranteed reasons we suck. 230 million problems and a quarterback
- 35:58Speaker 1: is one. And a t-shirt that on the front said,
- 36:05Speaker 1: we miss number six with a picture of Baker Mayfield.
- 36:08Speaker 2: By the way, none of these things are NFL licensed.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I just want to be clear.
- 36:13Speaker 1: And the back that says, I came to Tampa to
- 36:16Speaker 1: see an ex. We missed number six. And now that
- 36:22Speaker 1: guy is going to be coming out of the tunnel
- 36:24Speaker 1: week one for the surprisingly one-and-one Cleveland Browns. Hold on.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Let me double-check this because I'm pretty sure. Oh, that's right.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Forgot that the Bengals are 2-0 because they were going
- 36:37Speaker 1: to be the first-place Cleveland Browns. And nobody's happy about it.
- 36:44Speaker 1: None of them want this. They absolutely would have. They
- 36:48Speaker 1: would rather lose with Shador than win with Deshaun Watson.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Let's say that they rattled off four straight wins. How
- 36:55Speaker 1: many wins would the Browns have to have for them
- 36:58Speaker 1: to be happy that Deshaun Watson was the one doing it?
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'm not saying they're right or wrong for it. I'm
- 37:04Speaker 1: just saying straight up and down. We watched this with
- 37:06Speaker 1: the Dallas Mavericks. They would rather lose with Luka than
- 37:09Speaker 1: win without him, right? They've made that clear. How many,
- 37:14Speaker 1: what would they have to go to feel good about
- 37:19Speaker 1: what their situation is? Like, what if Deshaun Watson not
- 37:22Speaker 1: just won, but had three straight games that looked like
- 37:24Speaker 1: he did over the weekend? Would they be happy about it?
- 37:30Speaker 4: No.
- 37:30Speaker 2: And you know why?
- 37:31Speaker 1: Because Deshaun Watson would come at that press conference and
- 37:34Speaker 1: be like, are you happy now?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Talk about starting to negotiate for an extension.
- 37:38Speaker 1: You know, I look forward to being here for the
- 37:43Speaker 1: rest of my career.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Assuming we can come to an agreement.
- 37:46Speaker 3: On the duration. I'm not really interested in taking a
- 37:48Speaker 3: pay cut either.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm about to say, you know, I think I've
- 37:51Speaker 2: lived up to this deal.
- 37:52Speaker 1: What about you?
- 37:53Speaker 2: What about you?
- 37:53Speaker 1: I mean, I know you guys want me to throw
- 37:55Speaker 1: for 500 yards every week.
- 37:57Speaker 2: And all I did was throw for 240. But he's
- 38:00Speaker 2: your guy.
- 38:05Speaker 1: And he's going to be your guy for at least
- 38:07Speaker 1: another week. Maybe more. Maybe more.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Who do they play next week?
- 38:13Speaker 1: Oh, they play the Panthers.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Oh, did they play the Steelers?
- 38:17Speaker 1: Both at home.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Oh, did they play the Jets on the road?
- 38:22Speaker 1: I spy a four-game winning streak. It could be there.
- 38:28Speaker 1: They could do it. And they'll be pissed.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Pissed.

- 41:38Speaker 3: We got you.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Now, if you haven't heard.
- 41:41Speaker 3: All right, both. You haven't heard presented by prize picks. Uh,
- 41:44Speaker 3: we talked about college football on Sunday show. One thing
- 41:46Speaker 3: we didn't get to Dion Sanders in Colorado lost 41
- 41:50Speaker 3: to seven to Northwestern. Do you know who's at Northwestern
- 41:55Speaker 3: calling place? I do not Kelly. So they got their
- 41:59Speaker 3: doors blown off. Uh, Former players started to criticize Deion
- 42:04Speaker 3: online after this loss. Bo, what was your reaction to
- 42:07Speaker 3: this result?
- 42:08Speaker 1: First of all, do you know where Chip Kelly coached
- 42:11Speaker 1: before he went to Oregon?
- 42:14Speaker 3: The Raiders. Oh, no, the Raiders. Sorry, the last job.
- 42:17Speaker 3: New Hampshire. Yes.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yes. That is an important detail to me because it
- 42:21Speaker 1: was very clear with the Willie Lyle situation at Oregon
- 42:24Speaker 1: that Chip Kelly was not built for big-time college football.
- 42:28Speaker 2: He just wants to call plays. Chip Kelly's at Northwestern.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Right?
- 42:34Speaker 1: Like, that's the kind of job that Chip Kelly needs. Anyway,
- 42:39Speaker 1: so this Colorado thing is over. Or at least what
- 42:43Speaker 1: the promise of what Deion Sanders could have been is over.
- 42:48Speaker 1: And the reason that it's over is that the comparative
- 42:51Speaker 1: advantage that you would have because Deion Sanders is your
- 42:54Speaker 1: coach no longer matters.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:57Speaker 1: The advantage that Colorado had with Deion Sanders being your
- 43:00Speaker 1: coach is that because he was such a big name,
- 43:03Speaker 1: he could get you in the door with some players
- 43:05Speaker 1: that you wouldn't be in the.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Door with otherwise.
- 43:09Speaker 1: So he could get this dude named Jordan Seaton, who
- 43:11Speaker 1: was a five star left tackle to go to Colorado.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Ryan, who does Jordan Seaton play for now?
- 43:19Speaker 3: LSU.
- 43:19Speaker 1: OK.
- 43:20Speaker 2: As is going to be the case with every good player.
- 43:22Speaker 1: That they have because Colorado doesn't have the money. And
- 43:25Speaker 1: Deion sounded this alarm early. What do we need to
- 43:28Speaker 1: get players? We need money.
- 43:30Speaker 2: He's right, right?
- 43:31Speaker 1: The coach is cool. That's not going to pull it
- 43:35Speaker 1: off anymore to get guys. And this is a Jimmy's
- 43:38Speaker 1: and Joe's sport. They're not going to be able to
- 43:41Speaker 1: do it in the ways that it looked like it
- 43:44Speaker 1: might be possible for that first month of that year.
- 43:48Speaker 1: They're not getting any more Travis Hunters. And unless Deion...
- 43:51Speaker 1: Been doing some work I don't know about. Didn't get
- 43:53Speaker 1: no more Shador Sanders, neither. Okay? The thing about this, though,
- 44:00Speaker 1: is Deion came in the press conference and was talking
- 44:03Speaker 1: about how he's walking off the field and his players,
- 44:07Speaker 1: after getting smashed like that, are laughing. And he's making
- 44:11Speaker 1: it very clear in that press conference that he's here
- 44:13Speaker 1: to win, that he badly wants to win, and how
- 44:16Speaker 1: much it infuriated him and how much it burned him up.
- 44:20Speaker 1: that these guys on his team did not seem to
- 44:25Speaker 1: be serious about winning. And this is the trick bag
- 44:32Speaker 1: of the entire existence of Deion Sanders. And this is
- 44:37Speaker 1: what I mean by that. You don't get to be
- 44:41Speaker 1: as good as these things that Deion has done unless
- 44:44Speaker 1: you have been serious about them.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Forget the football.
- 44:50Speaker 1: You do not become a major league baseball player unless
- 44:57Speaker 1: you are very serious about what you are doing, right?
- 45:02Speaker 1: You have to put in a certain number of at-bats,
- 45:05Speaker 1: no matter who you are, to be good enough to
- 45:07Speaker 1: play baseball. And Deion pulled that off while also playing
- 45:11Speaker 1: all that football and running track and doing all these things, okay?
- 45:16Speaker 1: He is a very serious person about what he did
- 45:21Speaker 1: on the field. And I think he cares very much
- 45:23Speaker 1: about winning. But on the other hand, I also remember
- 45:26Speaker 1: when Dion was trying to tell us that he's won
- 45:28Speaker 1: everywhere he's ever been. And I was like, does that
- 45:30Speaker 1: include the Falcons? Does that include Washington? What are you
- 45:36Speaker 1: talking about? You won with two teams that won anyway, right?
- 45:39Speaker 1: With the 49ers and the Cowboys. But my point being,
- 45:45Speaker 1: I don't know if the people around him, because of
- 45:51Speaker 1: the way that he has branded and positioned himself, if
- 45:54Speaker 1: they think he's serious about winning, like Jeff Perlman wrote
- 45:59Speaker 1: a book about those Cowboys teams called boys will be boys.
- 46:02Speaker 1: And he said, one of the things like with Dion
- 46:04Speaker 1: during the Switzer era was Dion would come out and
- 46:07Speaker 1: practice with no shoulder pads. And his thing was, cause
- 46:10Speaker 1: I ain't going to hit nobody. But implicit in that
- 46:12Speaker 1: was I'm going to be so good in coverage that
- 46:14Speaker 1: it's never going to come up that I have to
- 46:16Speaker 1: hit anybody. But then the other guys on the team
- 46:18Speaker 1: want to practice without shoulder pads. Because Deion's practicing without
- 46:23Speaker 1: shoulder pads. And I don't know if those guys understand
- 46:26Speaker 1: that Deion is actually very serious about this. Because that
- 46:29Speaker 1: is a decidedly unserious thing to do. You know? And
- 46:32Speaker 1: so they had all the slogans and everything else. And like, yo,
- 46:36Speaker 1: this is the cool place to go. One thing Deion
- 46:38Speaker 1: has been big on with that job is we got
- 46:40Speaker 1: the cameras running at all time. These kids want exposure.
- 46:44Speaker 1: So we're going to do that. We're going to have
- 46:45Speaker 1: all the social media assets and everything else. And I
- 46:49Speaker 1: wonder for how many people the idea of going and
- 46:51Speaker 1: playing for Colorado is because.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Hey, man, it's look cool. Deion's cool, you know.
- 46:58Speaker 1: But when we think about Deion's image as a football coach,
- 47:01Speaker 1: We're still talking about Deion's image as Deion. And the
- 47:05Speaker 1: way that he positions himself before people is different than
- 47:10Speaker 1: the other coaches do. And he's certainly allowed to be
- 47:14Speaker 1: different in how he does it. But I do wonder
- 47:16Speaker 1: to a degree, what exactly does this signal to the
- 47:20Speaker 1: people that are under your employ, right? Like what exactly
- 47:23Speaker 1: does this signal to the people that you coach? And
- 47:25Speaker 1: I don't know what he's like in practice.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I don't know any of those things. I know that
- 47:28Speaker 2: he talks a lot about how he don't... he'll be
- 47:31Speaker 2: at work that long.
- 47:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Right? Like, I know he talks all those things. And again,
- 47:36Speaker 1: I don't question how much he cares. I don't question
- 47:39Speaker 1: whether this is important to him. I do wonder how
- 47:43Speaker 1: this all trickles down, though.
- 47:45Speaker 2: I do.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Now, it is fair and possible that what I'm saying
- 47:50Speaker 1: is extrapolating too much from a couple of kids at
- 47:54Speaker 1: stupid age.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Doing something that is kind of stupid.
- 47:57Speaker 3: You know?
- 47:58Speaker 1: And maybe that's going a little bit too far about it,
- 48:01Speaker 1: but it was enough that Deion brought it to us.
- 48:03Speaker 1: And the other thing that's happening, and part of why
- 48:05Speaker 1: I think that what I described is just important, is important,
- 48:08Speaker 1: we saw Chad Brown, who played in the glory days
- 48:12Speaker 1: at Colorado, played for the Seahawks, played for the Steelers,
- 48:14Speaker 1: really good outside linebacker. And he's on Twitter asking the
- 48:18Speaker 1: questions about Deion, right? And what this reminds me of,
- 48:24Speaker 1: and something I think is very important for a guy
- 48:26Speaker 1: like him, It's all good for Deion when you're winning.
- 48:32Speaker 1: And all that shit seems cool. This happened to John
- 48:34Speaker 1: Calipari too, right? Having the hip program and all of that,
- 48:37Speaker 1: that all goes over as long as you're winning up
- 48:39Speaker 1: to the standard or to the level that the people
- 48:41Speaker 1: reasonably expect.
- 48:42Speaker 2: For you to win at. Now when you're not winning,
- 48:46Speaker 2: some other things come into play.
- 48:47Speaker 1: And one thing that I have observed from Deion Sanders,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and I saw this happen, another example of this is
- 48:56Speaker 1: those of us who were in North Carolina when Butch
- 48:58Speaker 1: Davis was there. It's a dangerous thing when you come
- 49:00Speaker 1: to a new place and you don't show adequate respect
- 49:03Speaker 1: for the history that came before. Right. And one thing
- 49:06Speaker 1: that Dion did that clearly demonstrated that he did not
- 49:08Speaker 1: have adequate respect for what happened before. And look, the
- 49:10Speaker 1: Colorado of my youth was a power. I understand they
- 49:13Speaker 1: weren't a power before that and they weren't after. But
- 49:15Speaker 1: they had a good 15-year run of being one of
- 49:17Speaker 1: the best programs in the country. Retiring Shador's number was
- 49:23Speaker 1: a clear demonstration that you did not respect the history
- 49:25Speaker 1: of that program. Retiring Travis Hunter's number was a no-brainer.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Heisman Trophy winner. You do that.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Doing that with Shador, and those guys are like, well,
- 49:35Speaker 1: what about Dion Figures? That's the history of the program.
- 49:38Speaker 1: You know, like you trampled over the history of the
- 49:39Speaker 1: program when you did that. Those are the things that
- 49:41Speaker 1: people remember when it doesn't go well.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:45Speaker 1: So all those things like it doesn't matter when if
- 49:47Speaker 1: as long as you win. No, it doesn't matter while
- 49:50Speaker 1: you win. It does matter. The bill just comes due
- 49:54Speaker 1: much later. And what can very easily happen this year
- 49:57Speaker 1: for Dion is. That Bill's coming, dude. That excitement around
- 50:01Speaker 1: that program is not there anymore. Are the rappers still
- 50:03Speaker 1: going to that program, going to their games? Are they
- 50:05Speaker 1: getting on the cover of magazines on the basis of this?
- 50:08Speaker 1: Is College Game Day showing back up? Has Stephen A
- 50:11Speaker 1: been back in that motherfucker? Are any of those things happening? No.
- 50:14Speaker 1: What's happening is they're losing 41-7 to Northwestern. And it
- 50:19Speaker 1: feels exactly how it did when they were losing 41-7
- 50:23Speaker 1: under all those other coaches that they had to fire. Right?
- 50:28Speaker 1: The bill comes due on all of those things. And
- 50:32Speaker 1: I think the bill has come due on all of it.
- 50:35Speaker 1: The method of presentation, where I'm not saying there's anything
- 50:38Speaker 1: necessarily wrong with it, but I don't know if he
- 50:41Speaker 1: did enough signaling of the football stuff that people want
- 50:46Speaker 1: to feel like their football team is tough. People want
- 50:48Speaker 1: to feel like their football team is nasty. And Deion
- 50:51Speaker 1: sees himself as an old school guy. But he sold
- 50:56Speaker 1: it in a new school way. And I think all
- 50:59Speaker 1: of that's coming together. And if I was him, I
- 51:02Speaker 1: don't know what that buyout is. And maybe they can't
- 51:04Speaker 1: afford to let him go, but you need to start winning,
- 51:07Speaker 1: figuring out a way to win a lot of games
- 51:10Speaker 1: because the way that you thought was going to do it,
- 51:12Speaker 1: and this isn't his fault.
- 51:13Speaker 2: It's not going to work.
- 51:14Speaker 1: It's a different job now than the job that he took.
- 51:17Speaker 1: It's not going to work that way. There's a world
- 51:22Speaker 1: in which Dion will be longing for the good old days.
- 51:26Speaker 1: of Jackson State.
- 51:32Speaker 3: All right, Bo. We got some voicemail. Just one voicemail
- 51:35Speaker 3: this week, but it really puts an exclamation point on
- 51:40Speaker 3: what we saw over the weekend. Here it is.
- 51:42Speaker 4: Hey, Bo Marnie. This is Peter Fields. I'm in Tampa,
- 51:46Speaker 4: Florida by way of.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Did he say Peter Teal? Whoa, whoa. Press pause. Press pause.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Press pause. Press pause.
- 51:52Speaker 1: That man didn't say his name was Peter Teal, was he?
- 51:53Speaker 3: No, it was not Peter Teal.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:56Speaker 3: I hope not.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I was a little worried.
- 51:58Speaker 2: You just read that book. You know what I'm saying?
- 52:00Speaker 3: Oh, man. Yeah. Nerd Reich.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I still got to read Nerd Reich.
- 52:03Speaker 3: You got to read Nerd Reich. Turns out Peter Thiel,
- 52:07Speaker 3: we're Nazi and really into the Antichrist. There's the spoilers.
- 52:10Speaker 3: All right. Okay. Sorry. Let's start. Let's play this again.
- 52:14Speaker 4: Hey, Bomani. This is Peter Fields. I'm in Tampa, Florida
- 52:19Speaker 4: by way of Advance, North Carolina. We just outside of
- 52:24Speaker 4: Winter Salem. Shadow went to Salem State. Question for you.
- 52:30Speaker 4: I'm watching the Sunday episode and you just get into
- 52:35Speaker 4: the NC State part. Thank you for informing the broader
- 52:40Speaker 4: national audience of what it means to state. I was
- 52:45Speaker 4: texting my brother-in-law, who was a rugby player at Clemson
- 52:49Speaker 4: the other day, and I simply told him, I don't
- 52:53Speaker 4: think I've ever seen state state harder than how they
- 52:58Speaker 4: just stated. If you can think of a time that
- 53:03Speaker 4: state stated harder than the way they just stated against Vandy,
- 53:08Speaker 4: please let me know.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Ryan, did he say he went to Winston-Salem State?
- 53:13Speaker 3: I believe he did.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Does he sound like he went to Winston-Salem State?
- 53:20Speaker 3: You know, I'm not going to make those mistakes.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Nah, nah, nah, nah. But you hear the question and
- 53:26Speaker 1: you understand.
- 53:26Speaker 3: I understand the question you're asking. I would say it's
- 53:30Speaker 3: a reasonable question.
- 53:31Speaker 2: Okay, there we go. I mean, this is our show.
- 53:34Speaker 2: You know what I mean? It's a safe space for
- 53:37Speaker 2: such discussions.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I've tried to think about a time that NC State
- 53:42Speaker 1: did more NC State shit than what happened.
- 53:45Speaker 2: And that, I don't... I would go so far as
- 53:50Speaker 2: to say....
- 53:51Speaker 1: It's never been quite like that.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Like they've, they've unlocked and gone to a whole nother place.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Like you can't even, all you had to do was
- 53:59Speaker 1: take a knee and instead you got tackled and gave
- 54:02Speaker 1: up the ball.
- 54:04Speaker 3: The loss is worse every time I watch it. Every
- 54:07Speaker 3: time I think about it, I get, I get angrier. That,
- 54:11Speaker 3: that left, left Cristobal off the hook for the worst
- 54:14Speaker 3: loss in the last 10 years.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Oh man. Cause like I think about the worst loss
- 54:19Speaker 1: of the last like 25 years is that time that
- 54:22Speaker 1: Baylor was up by one point or something like that
- 54:24Speaker 1: at the end of the game when Kevin Steele was
- 54:26Speaker 1: coaching them. And they had been so bad for so
- 54:28Speaker 1: long that he wanted to prove a point by running
- 54:30Speaker 1: in another touchdown. And then they fumbled and the ball
- 54:34Speaker 1: went all the way the other way. There's also, as
- 54:38Speaker 1: I'm sure you remember, I believe the play is called
- 54:40Speaker 1: the Hail Devery. When God Morris was the coach at Kentucky.
- 54:45Speaker 3: And it goused him, yeah. That's up there.
- 54:47Speaker 2: And then it was the bounce interception. Saban was the
- 54:50Speaker 2: coach then, right?
- 54:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Saban was there.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Can you imagine? Like, I can't even think of what
- 54:54Speaker 1: Saban's reaction to that is. And it was probably sadder
- 54:58Speaker 1: than it should have been. Yes.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Oh, man. I mean, that Michigan-Michigan State game where they
- 55:05Speaker 3: blew the punts close.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's up there. Oh, God, that was up there.
- 55:08Speaker 1: But at least bright side for Michigan, the guy from
- 55:10Speaker 1: Michigan State who scored, I don't know if you remember this,
- 55:14Speaker 1: he was on the bottom of the pile and they
- 55:15Speaker 1: broke his hip.
- 55:16Speaker 2: So you could at least take some satisfaction. That was
- 55:19Speaker 2: a tough one. That was a tough one.
- 55:23Speaker 1: It reminds me famously of back when I was very
- 55:25Speaker 1: young and I was playing Tecmo ball and I put
- 55:28Speaker 1: my brother, my brother 13 years older than me, but
- 55:30Speaker 1: I put him on Tecmo Bowl. And man, we used
- 55:33Speaker 1: to have just epic Christmas Tecmo Bowl battles. Like that
- 55:35Speaker 1: is my memory of anything. But before he got the
- 55:38Speaker 1: hang of it, I was kind of dominating, right? And
- 55:43Speaker 1: I remember once, I think maybe I was using Chicago
- 55:48Speaker 1: and he was using the Giants. And those of you
- 55:52Speaker 1: who may not remember this, Lawrence Taylor was the Bo
- 55:55Speaker 1: Jackson of defense on Tecmo Bowl. It was colossally unfair.
- 55:59Speaker 1: So anyway, I remember, I believe the score in the
- 56:01Speaker 1: game was 18 to 17 or something. And it had
- 56:04Speaker 1: to be 18 because I couldn't get no extra points
- 56:06Speaker 1: off because Lawrence Taylor would block them all. Okay? So
- 56:10Speaker 1: it's like 18 to 17. I'm losing.
- 56:14Speaker 2: And I get down toward the goal line.
- 56:17Speaker 1: And I throw a pass with Jim McMahon's old lollipopping ass.
- 56:21Speaker 1: And Lawrence Taylor makes the interception at the one-yard line.
- 56:27Speaker 1: But then he keeps going backwards and I tackle him
- 56:31Speaker 1: in the end zone for safety.
- 56:35Speaker 2: And I won the game.
- 56:36Speaker 1: And I've looked back on that now for like almost
- 56:41Speaker 1: 40 years. And I wondered how tough it was for
- 56:45Speaker 1: my brother because I was only nine or 10. So
- 56:48Speaker 1: he could not react the way that I'm sure that
- 56:51Speaker 1: he wanted to because I would have broke the TV.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I just can't imagine what would have gone through like
- 56:57Speaker 1: my soul in that moment. Like I have no idea.
- 57:03Speaker 1: And I'm thinking my brother may hear this. It may
- 57:05Speaker 1: remember this at this time. That's the only thing I
- 57:09Speaker 1: could think of. I'm saying the only way it could
- 57:13Speaker 1: have been worse to state is if they lost to
- 57:15Speaker 1: a nine year old.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Under those circumstances.
- 57:19Speaker 1: That's, that's the, Oh gosh, I haven't even checked in
- 57:21Speaker 1: on any of that content over there. I can't, I can't.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 57:26Speaker 2: What a time.
- 57:26Speaker 4: What a time.
- 57:27Speaker 2: And by the way, it looked like Carolina was going
- 57:29Speaker 2: to be Clemson.
- 57:30Speaker 1: For a little while.
- 57:30Speaker 3: I know.
- 57:32Speaker 1: And then they did.
- 57:33Speaker 3: They did not.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 2: I was like, damn.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Did you see how quick Belichick gave dab on a
- 57:37Speaker 1: handshake at the end of the game?
- 57:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:39Speaker 1: I just can't imagine what it's like to be Bill
- 57:41Speaker 1: Belichick football master.
- 57:43Speaker 2: And you lose, lose a game to that guy.
- 57:47Speaker 1: That guy.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Like I assure you, they're not hanging out at the
- 57:50Speaker 2: coaches meetings.
- 57:51Speaker 4: No.
- 57:53Speaker 1: No, and I assure you that Dabo has much judgment
- 57:57Speaker 1: for Bill Belichick and his relationship.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and his many decisions he's made.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Yes, I believe the phrase.
- 58:03Speaker 3: I guarantee you Dabo says there's still time for Bill
- 58:06Speaker 3: to find Jesus.
- 58:07Speaker 1: I think the words living in sin have come from
- 58:15Speaker 1: his lips in reference to whatever Belichick is doing down there.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Thanks so much for joining us here on The Right Time.
- 58:22Speaker 1: We do this here four days a week. Ryan Brumley

- 58:38Speaker 1: of days. Take it easy. This has been a Playmaker Production.
