- 8:32[SPEAKER_04]: If it's Christmas coming up and you're selling that and you're promoting it, I see that that's something about retailing in water town.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's just strange.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_04]: You have strange.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's see, what's going on in the news.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_04]: Well, of course, the shutdown is due to end later tonight when the house occurs with the Senate passing the deal.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong with the U. Democrats?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_04]: Pick it on old Chuck E. Schumer and all that.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't have gotten involved in that thing anyway.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_04]: Because there's been too many previous years where Democrats were the ones saying, excoriating and Republicans for shutdowns.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_04]: and then you go and perpetrate one themselves, come on, man, stop that.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, there's a story I saw in the Central New York media, Azalea King, 91 years old.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_04]: She'd been told she could stay in her house.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_04]: She's on property that might use for this alleged micro-in-plant, oh, drop, drop, drop.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know about that.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: It's been delayed.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the county industrial development agency.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_04]: Those are the people who give away money, you know, or they give away other people's money, they don't give away their own.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_04]: Um, they filed eviction proceedings against Ms. King.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: 91 years old, come on.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: Who thinks that's a good idea?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_04]: Come on, man.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's just a bad idea.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_04]: And besides that, you know, another one that looks stupid is Jefferson County.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: Higher, you can, oh, we got to have a consultant to tell us about what this is.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: You got to mean to us.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_04]: out of the things delayed they say at least three years probably a perpetuity that in perpetuity is a long time uh... you know there's another poll came out today supposedly i've for fairly independent one showing half the whole call up forty six forty three over stifonic now that's interesting because it's been some cianna poll showing big bargins and everybody said oh she's only at twenty it's a competitive race
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: In fact, I get to go pick up my sign.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: I got a 4 by each sign I had made For release is candidacy, but I got no way to pick it up I think the welder's gonna go over and grab it at a VL signs form because he's a nice guy But yeah, it's tough when you buy something like that and whatever whatever Let's see Oh, the other thing I want to talk about
- 10:59[SPEAKER_04]: I was talking to a journalist this morning, not a broadcast journalist.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody else and I said, boy, what do you think of that?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: Vigo Mortensen, you're going to be an astronaut meet the Pope on Saturday.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: Pope Leo, the 14th of this isn't maybe him.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_04]: He said, yeah, I heard something about that.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_04]: I said, well, don't you think that's news?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I guess maybe it is.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_04]: Well, this town is like, it's not only a news desert.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's, you know, it would know news if a bit of any S.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, of course it's a Vigo Morton since a water town high school grad and famous actor Good disgrace as they always were putting them on TV And he's invited by the Holy Father to come to the Vatican apostolic Chapel there to meet him Yeah, gee How many other water town high graduates have been invited to go meet the Pope?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't even think, well, young was invited to meet the Pope, so I can't think of any.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_04]: I can't think of any.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_04]: But somebody told me that, well, it's not news up here, but okay, I don't know what is news and watered down.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_04]: Tell you the truth.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes, I think that is.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what else is going on?
- 12:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm tired here at about the Epstein files and how the Democrats have the one lady from Arizona got sworn in.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad she did and they shouldn't have delayed it.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: So now I guess there could be a, uh,
- 12:22[SPEAKER_04]: They can bring this up next month before the whole house to release some of the X, Epstein files.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: What do they look like?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_04]: Is it a minute of a folder or what the heck is it?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not that interested in it, but, you know, some people are, I get people on my blog.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's all they talk about.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_04]: The Epstein files and all of Republicans are pedophiles and all of this stuff.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_04]: I just erase most of it, but what the hell is it?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: Who cares?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: Who cares?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we'll get to other things in a moment.

- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, what else is going on here that we can talk about?

- 17:52[SPEAKER_04]: That's nice of him, isn't it?

- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: A great guy.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: There.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_04]: Send that out.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_04]: What else were you going on?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: I was talking about, oh, the college tonight.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_04]: JCC got the Scott Gray nuclear symposium.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_04]: It's not just a meeting.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's a symposium.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_04]: And they're going to talk about these new nuclear plants.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_04]: Many nukes.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_04]: We want one.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_04]: Well, put them on.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I remember when black crossing got fired and raining all this toxic black material on the neighborhood and the DEC didn't show up for that, so I mean they are going to care if we put a little nuclear power on the soil's island that I think.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_04]: So let's do it.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Mr. Gray says they're just like a tractor trailer, just bring back it in there and turn it on, baby.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_04]: We'll be at critical mass in no time.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: Also tonight for ZBA, what's the ZBA, what is it, who knows, right, who knows what it is, zoning board of appeals, one of these obscure bodies that you run into sometimes in life, and if you're lucky you'll never run into them.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_04]: But they're considering what are called use variances for two business people in town, who want to open weed stores.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_04]: Um, you know, if something if an area is zoned for certain applications, but not others, and if you want to put, you know, what's you want to put in there in this case, a weed store, because they did what they did is they did the same thing on weed that they did with a adult entertainment 40 years ago.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_04]: They, they, they made it very, they, they, they restricted the areas so much.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's almost impossible to do business.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_04]: That was the goal.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_04]: That was the planning departments and Mr.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_04]: Mix is goal and they drew up this zoning planet.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think is conducive to anything good.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, what do we got going on here?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_04]: So there's only board of appeals.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_04]: This is going to consider this.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_04]: Now, to get a use variance, you've got to really do some fancy toy.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_04]: I got one back in the years in the 90s.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_04]: over on Pearl Street and that building behind the bar and I want to make it into a residence that's the only thing I can really use it for it has no other value other than tear it down so that was my argument that economically there was nothing in that zone that I was in it was neighborhood business at the time you know all that is like horseshoe makers and stuff like that there's nothing practical like it use it for and uh...
- 20:39[SPEAKER_04]: because it's illegal to have a bill of residential building behind another building.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's not really behind it.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty open now.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_04]: But at the time, you know, and I thought it was just like, you know, they tell you, well, you can just apply for a variance, like, oh, okay.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_04]: Boy, once you get in there, it's a buzzsaw.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_04]: And I think I only carry that.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, it was like four to two or something.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: It was a split vote.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_04]: And the people have already against me.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'll never forget it.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'll never forget.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_04]: give a guy a break.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with the, now what's going on with these two properties is one of them is that house that's kind of between suboros on acroffine street.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's the Tantine restaurant and a fur ground's in nice looking house.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_04]: You used to have a beauty slime in it not be tough to use for residential.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I suppose you could, but it's not really, you know, it's a business type environment.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_04]: And in this case, Mr. Saboro, Mike Saboro wants to put it a licensed, we each have not one of the unlicensed ones all over town, but he wants to put a licensed one in there.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and I look at it, and over an arsenal street where the bad apple is, over by the bridge, that guy from West Carthage wants to put one there, he wants to buy the property from Shannon, God bless Shannon, and put that in there.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_04]: You know, these are not, we have such a bug-a-boo, and I said, you know, if you want to get this approved, it's very doubtful.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to vote, grant a variance, because the staff's going to say, you don't do it, lawyers are going to say, you don't do it.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's just going to be very difficult to make happen.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, you don't want to litigate marijuana in this.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want to see all else, not that bad, you know, and love our bond, we'll keep the kids away from it.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, don't get into all of that.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's just you own a property that's suitable only for commercial activity, and you want to use it for that.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_04]: And this is the most economically viable use for it that other uses, for instance, the one on a professional street, restaurants haven't worked out there in recent years.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_04]: You need something that's a destination type business, and that's what a weed store is.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_04]: And marijuana, cannabis dispensary, excuse me.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with the one on a coffee.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so, I don't want to say it's going to be tough thing, they'll make their case and, you know, you never know.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_04]: But generally speaking, if past this prologue, getting a variance like that is extremely difficult, because we like to stand in the way of business now, is there any harm in it?
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, am I a big fan of marijuana?
- 23:33[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_04]: But it's legal and publicly widely accepted now in society.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't like the people who go around, you know, smelling like it and, you know, all that, all that, they're stoned all the time and all that, but, you know, some people want to use, you don't have to justify, you don't say, oh, well, there's older people who want pain control, there's, then usually it is older people who would go to a licensed store.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_04]: The high school kids are going to get it on the street.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to buy it, it's just like liquor, then I kind of buy liquor at a liquor store, my God.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to get it elsewhere.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_04]: So don't know what to say.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'll let people, that people who are in business do business.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he can't stop saying no to people.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_04]: He can't start, you know, I say, well, what's the color of the building going to be?
- 24:30[SPEAKER_04]: And what's the light my wish?
- 24:31[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I ran into these jerks back in the late 80s.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: I was still in the news business.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_04]: And they were given these Asian people a hard time on stakes for the, they had a restaurant.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_04]: And they wanted to put a sign out of funking or whatever the heck it was.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_04]: And the sign was going to be red and yellow.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_04]: Nice bright colors.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_04]: and then this historic commission or whatever it was we had at the time was trying to give them a hard time over it and I said at the time walk out on the street look up at the street at Burger King there's an enormous red and yellow side oh no I think a lot of that was anti-Asian feeling or something like that somebody mad over Pearl Harbor or something I don't know but you know that kind of stuff is silly let business do business
- 25:18[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's not like we're rolling in everything up here.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I know there's a need to, you know, you're not going to put certain things in certain areas.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, given the way we look the other way on so many types of things, and then we get all upset over this.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't buy it.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't buy it for an instant.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, my shopping cart.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_04]: I got a shopping cart, you know, this week, almost person left it, I was going to go out and look through it.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_04]: But I was kind of afraid, you know, I don't want to catch anything.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: I've had enough with disease and reason.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I just don't want to catch anything.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: Cool disease or whatever you get from those deals.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, those are the things going on today.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_04]: If you have anything else you want to talk about, we'll put you on here for you, George.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_04]: oh yeah bombshell report on the obscene thing.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god I was on the island you know yeah not bad that a good time no it also we're going on it's lots of things here on the deer the day is a newsjackie
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: What are we celebrating today?
- 26:49[SPEAKER_04]: I was talking to John Moore this morning.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_04]: He says he got a beautiful six point right in my backyard.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, he lives in the city, so he didn't shoot it, but.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, here's the guy.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: It's a big, pretty big look in deer.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_04]: I hate how they, you know, you're standing or holding a head of a dead animal up, but I guess it's.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_04]: And there's one.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: There's other ones too.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_04]: There's another one.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_04]: There's a kid with a deer.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_04]: 13-year-old Clayton kid.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_04]: Shot and killed his first buck.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_04]: Is that legal for a 13-year-old?
- 27:24[SPEAKER_04]: Ah, let's see.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: Here's a chick-on-wellsy island got her first deer.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_04]: Plug them right in the side.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_04]: Right in the lungs.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what else we got?
- 27:38[SPEAKER_04]: There's a dexter guy.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_04]: I got an 11-pointer.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_04]: That's why his wife was proud of him when he brought that home.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, it's quite a night.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_04]: Who is a kid with an eight-pointer?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, let's see, a kid doesn't look old enough to do anything.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, but always father shot it says here the kid grunted him in over that means.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_04]: uh... here's another one guy from felt's mills got a deer there's a twelve-year-old got her first deer wow twelve-year-old girl yeah there's a thirteen-year-old got a got a deer his kids are out there shooting another young lady got a lot of women get a killing deer is this year

- 28:47[SPEAKER_04]: I bet you he'll have a picture of Vigo in the Pope on Saturday.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_04]: He'll be efforting that, probably go on the Vatican website.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure they have a media site.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_04]: And grabbing him a draw for that.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_04]: That's all you got to do.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have to be a greatly poured over this.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_04]: Any of you folks going to see the Pope?

- 29:19[SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh.

- 29:25[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, buddy, know him.

- 33:31[SPEAKER_04]: Please come and vote no way.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: Don't know much about town stuff.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, take your word for it.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's see, somebody sent me the headlines on news junkie about Epstein.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to tell you right now, you can call and say something about Epstein, if you want.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_04]: I have no interest in it, whether Trump, Madam or not.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: Epstein's been dead for years.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_04]: I think they should let the woman out of jail.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry about the other lady, the Virginia Jew Frey, you know.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_04]: She was able to write a book to make sure he's not able to enjoy the royalties.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I just don't care.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_04]: I have no interest in Jeffrey Epstein.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_04]: None.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_04]: Do you?
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: I have the Epstein file.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what are you going to do with the Epstein files?
- 34:29[SPEAKER_04]: What if they do me?
- 34:30[SPEAKER_04]: What if, you know, what if Trump was on the island?
- 34:34[SPEAKER_04]: So what?
- 34:34[SPEAKER_04]: What are you going to do about it?
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: Get over it.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_04]: He can't run again.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_04]: He's not going to run again.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_04]: Just leave it at that.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 34:49[UNKNOWN]: Oh.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody else just texted in something about that.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I don't want to hear about it.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240 are from a number if you'd like to give us a call.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: You know we got another socialist going to be mayor.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_04]: Self-described socialist.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: Katie Wilson.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_04]: also call the progressive activist is it appears is going to be the mayor of Seattle which is a big city I don't know how many people live in the city but about four million in the metro area so should be in charge of all the homeless in camp and sir but we'll see how the uh... Katie Wilson does is mayor i guess she was running against fellow democrat was kind of a slug in new much so
- 35:37[SPEAKER_04]: is more of an anti-incombat vote, but still she's in there.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_04]: She's got to say she's going to open some of those city run grocery stores too.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'd be in favor of that.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_04]: I think the city should buy the pigly wiggly and operate it.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_04]: See if you can get any food after that, right?
- 35:59[SPEAKER_04]: All righty seven five five twelve forty the phone number if you'd like to be on the air today talk about anything free of charge free of charge Well anything new on the political front Not too much I just Talk at a rust a little bit he's been very busy working lately but
- 36:29[SPEAKER_04]: He feels stronger than that Josh Parker, maybe they may be more juiced to that than me.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_04]: Originally realized, especially when he thinks that Scott Gray got pushed away, pushed out of the race.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, I am not going to say he was, it wasn't.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you just thought better of it.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_04]: But same thing with Stack, he was going home.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_04]: Dan Stack, the state senator from up kind of, Potsdam East.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_04]: And he was,
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: He was talking about it a lot.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_04]: He was saying I'm gonna run all of that stuff.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was Raring to go and all of a sudden he's not running So somebody else just texted someone The person just texted in about
- 37:27[SPEAKER_04]: Is this the reinstating of a town tax, is it?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_04]: You see, I am so out of it.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just not a good newsman, or I'd know that.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_04]: But, we'll see, they should be paying more taxes out there.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_04]: They got the cash, they got the cash, oh, let's see, somebody taxed it, whose palms did I grease for the variance, didn't have to, I made a good argument.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_04]: was a solid argument.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just saying, and I think they've got a good argument for these two businesses in Watertown.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: Certainly the one on Crafine, especially, I think they got a good one, but they're going to go for it because they don't want cannabis shops.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_04]: And they're going to use zoning to stop it.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_04]: Now, that's the reason that zoning code was written the way it was.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_04]: So restrictive.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_04]: Remember the, and again, I pointed out earlier the adult entertainment.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I can remember I was in office a couple of times that came up in a city attorney would say privately, this isn't constitutional, but he knows people will have the right, the ability to fight it.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing in this case, I mean, you could go to court, I suppose, but oh, that's pretty dicey.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_04]: Because it's such a judgment call.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: I hope they get it.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_04]: I'd vote in favor of it.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_04]: Who's on that ZBA?
- 39:01[SPEAKER_04]: Jim Corva was the chairman.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know who the other you know that a lot of these boards are so many vacancies.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody wants to be on them.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_04]: They you know the you just get put on like as a the guilty end to it.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_04]: You want to be on a board or something I don't know how about this one.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_04]: Oh okay.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_04]: Any end up on the assessment board review or something like that.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_04]: Well one of the reasons that nobody wants to do it is you know people expect to get paid.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_04]: Monday night we had a couple lawyers participated meeting.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_04]: They got paid.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody gets paid.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_04]: These, these people should, too.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, it's like I pointed out earlier.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_04]: Our public officials, we, we constantly denigrate them and say, well, they shouldn't get this.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_04]: They shouldn't be.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_04]: They make enough money.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_04]: They make a lot of money.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_04]: Well, even taking what I was paid in 1992, which was 10,000 year, possibly were benefits and all that.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_04]: And if you put a 2% over a year on that, you should be paying Mayor Pierce in the low 30s, or at least if you want to be equivalent to that, not to the equivalence matters.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_04]: But instead you're paying or 17.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_04]: And with no benefits.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_04]: So it's really not, you know, you're getting what you pay for.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody's saying, well, you got all these six for yourself.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_04]: You got people taking cars home.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_04]: You got all nobody lives in the city who runs the city.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_04]: But man, if you race those, you should be paying these people.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_04]: If you're on the planning board, you're doing one of those meetings, you should get 100 bucks or something.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you're free or something.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: If you show up, yeah.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't get paid.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_04]: That should be a convenient.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_04]: Well, if it's a community service, why are you doing, oh, I haven't got time.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_04]: you get what you pay for and we're getting what we pay for.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_04]: 755-1240 is the phone number if it'd like to give us a call to be on the show of show is today.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_04]: I call the or text account's been shown about that.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_04]: Shopping card on my street and he said he'd be right on it.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's going to come over and pick it up himself.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what's in the shopping card.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to look through it.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_04]: But I was kind of afraid, I don't know what kind of stuff you'd find in there.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_04]: But if you're wanted, it's right there on Pearl Street, and it's free.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know, usually you put something out by the curb, it's free people to take it in the heartbeat.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_04]: So grab this shopping cart, they'll probably worth a couple hundred bucks, handy around the house, you know?
- 41:40[SPEAKER_04]: What was it off first?
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: Get the kudi's off it, but it'll be fine after that, okay?
- 41:46[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't screw it to me too.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's see, yeah.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, yeah, there's Katie with it.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_04]: So it's two major cities in America.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_04]: I have Socialist Mayors now.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_04]: Is that a good thing?
- 42:08[SPEAKER_04]: What's Socialism mean?
- 42:09[SPEAKER_04]: Does anyone?
- 42:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's like common.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_04]: Did you see those people at Berkeley?
- 42:13[SPEAKER_04]: Holy cow.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong with that?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_04]: somebody's holding wants to hold a meeting in the auditorium and they're out there causing all that trouble.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_04]: No, I won't get covered on CBS or those story.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_04]: That works, but it's still, it's, you know, calling everybody, what were they chanting?
- 42:32[SPEAKER_04]: Something pump, punch a fascist in the, in the face or something like that.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_04]: That's wrong with these people.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_04]: They don't know what a fascist is, what a Nazi is, what a comedy is, or anything else.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_04]: They're stupid people.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_04]: I don't
- 42:48[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the U.S. mid in Philadelphia is getting ready to press its final penny as the one cent coin gets canceled.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_04]: Cancel culture there.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's going out.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_04]: Lot of places are already rounding and not even handing out pennies anymore.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we're in town here.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_04]: I know, I know guys who, if they're, cup of coffee was $2.23 in the girl and you gave him two and a quarter and you didn't, they didn't get their two pennies back.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_04]: They'll be held up a, so there's some people are going to object to it, but most people
- 43:17[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, it's just being rounded.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_04]: If you pay in cash, if it's on credit card, it's, it is what it is.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: But, we don't really deal.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_04]: I don't keep any pennies around anymore.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_04]: I want to support it.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240, the phone number.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_04]: If you'd like to give us a call beyond the show of shows today, we'll put your hunt talk about whatever you want within the bounds of good taste.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_04]: A little positive calls today, may I say?
- 43:52[SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_04]: Ah, let's see.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that, yeah, that lady in Seattle, Katie Wilson, her husband.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, she lives off her parents, and her husband refuses to work.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_04]: But now she's got a job as mayor.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_04]: Good for her, but holy cow, yeah, it's interesting, but people will like, he liked.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_04]: But a lot of it is, you know, if they don't like the other candidates in New York, he had Andrew Cuomo running.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_04]: And out there, he had this guy, the kind of a slog, we didn't do anything.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_04]: So, they ended up with Katie Wilson.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, around the air.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, you're on the air.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_19]: Oh, good afternoon, Mayor.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_19]: This is Christina Thomas calling.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_19]: And I'm calling on behalf of my brother, Samuel, and I heard you talking.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_19]: And I just wanted to let you know that my brother, Samuel, Thomas, served on the zoning board of appeal for 38 years.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_19]: Wow.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_19]: not good for him and i just want to let you know that he never got one thank you for all those years of work with no pay and he he was very good he always examined every case and it took a lot of his time but he never got one thank you
- 45:46[SPEAKER_19]: that one thank you.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_19]: And that's why you cannot get people to serve on any board.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_19]: They're not appreciated.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they're considered in many cases a new sense, you know, you have to have them.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_19]: But.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_19]: Right.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_19]: And then you can't find any people to volunteer.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_19]: I mean, he had a hard enough time finding, they tried to find people to sit on a zoning board.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_19]: And they're doing it with no pay.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_19]: And it is a lot of their time.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_19]: and their effort, the paperwork, everything.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_19]: And, but the thing is, she not appreciated.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_19]: And that's one thing I can say about the city who's ever running the city, who's the manager, they don't care.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_19]: So, I just went to the right you know, because I heard you talking about the zoning board.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_04]: I always say I'm doing, I haven't seen many years.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_04]: Really?
- 46:43[SPEAKER_19]: That's true.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 46:46[UNKNOWN]: Good.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_06]: Good for him.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_19]: You know, he enjoyed being on the zoning board, but I think that's a slap in the face when you don't get a thank you.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_19]: I mean, it's all you have to do is just write a two-letter thing and just say, thank you for your years for serving.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_04]: Didn't even get a mug or anything, huh?
- 47:07[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing?
- 47:08[SPEAKER_19]: Nothing.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_19]: And he doesn't expect that.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_19]: I bought out of courtesy, do you something, you know, you just, I'm a city paper, whatever you write.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_19]: Thank you for serving on your board.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_19]: And I know when people left the zoning board and he always stood up at the meetings and talked about them and said, thank you for your service and all that.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_19]: I mean, they had, but it's really too bad that that, you know, you should be shaded.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_06]: Hmm.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_19]: good my mother loved your show and she was always into the power ticks and everything she loved it well thank you I want to thank you and you have a really good afternoon all right you too ma'am by now what a nice call what a nice lady races a good point there and it really is I mean he's you know these uh...
- 48:09[SPEAKER_04]: These boards, some of them are powerful.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_04]: It can really mess with people.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's toy with people's lives like this new plan and permission, you know, that scares me.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_04]: But, yeah, you don't...
- 48:23[SPEAKER_04]: It does take up time and all of that if you do it conscientiously.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_04]: There are people, some people just like to be on board so they can say, I don't have board of 47, not for profits, you know, or something like that.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: But Sam is good guy.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_04]: But after noon you're on the air.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't miss them here.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I assume it's no fun to buy some high school and college, I only went for a little while.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I remember the story about Sam.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: What he didn't want to save the streetlights when the power company was going to take down the old streetlights there, you need to water it out.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was up.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_04]: He was a, he was a central figure in the whole street like that.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I remember that.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: And he was a, a, a, a, a, a writer to keep this street lamp to remember that.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I do remember that.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, I, I, I wasn't a Tyler says there's great people.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: And that, when I took when my nation was, you know, who we go to the
- 49:41[SPEAKER_02]: and they kill out the big can if I was they don't give out the little about the big can if I was good for them yeah yeah they're great people uh... it was nice to hear from it and uh... one of the sisters was best friends with the sister law so the congress family is uh... a great family in town and uh... i just remember to speak the uh... the street lab story
- 50:05[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to share that with water down the street.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_04]: Alrighty.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_04]: Bye now.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_04]: I do remember saying I'm from that.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_04]: It was quite a few back in the 80s.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: But whenever that whole national grid contract, 89, 99, why didn't there, yeah.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, he was a central figure and all of that.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_04]: Bit of history there and she raises a good point.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: We don't really
- 50:34[SPEAKER_04]: appreciate the uh people and these people on these boards should be paid.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think so.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, everybody else is getting six figures and all of these people are like you know falling back further and further behind and it becomes almost
- 51:03[SPEAKER_04]: It is a job in many cases.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_04]: It does take time.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's not just, you know, showing up and doing something once a week or something.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_04]: I agree with the lady.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_04]: And we appreciate you, Sam.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_04]: Now, which way did you vote when I was in front of you?
- 51:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I want.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_04]: I can't remember.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_04]: I voted my way.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_04]: I like you if you didn't.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like that, that's how life works, isn't it?

- 55:18[SPEAKER_04]: Listen, opening anything, isn't without its bumps, but they're doing work in hard and doing a great job and great people.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, all right, so, I saw something last night that we were talking about it on gutfailed and so on.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_04]: Talk show host, woman, and I don't down in Texas, I guess.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_04]: She was doing something, the stand in there with Congresswoman, Jasmine, and Crocket.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_04]: who is considering a run for your Senate against lying dead so well that works out at all but this talk show i wish i could remember her name i think i got it here somewhere i'm gonna try to look at up because it was just an interesting story uh... i thought and uh... there it is talk show host yeah what is her name's
- 56:15[SPEAKER_04]: She wasn't actress became a radio and podcast host.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_04]: Um, good for her.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_04]: But she grabbed, graveled, here's a story, news account, graveled at the feet of Jasmine Crockett, planning a big wet, smooth, generous sneaker, and then gleefully sharing the cringe were the interaction on social media.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if I kiss somebody, shoe.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_04]: I mean,
- 56:44[SPEAKER_04]: Jasmine Crockett is quite fetching.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_04]: We'd love to have her on the show.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'd like to meet her and all of that.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_04]: There's no doubt about it.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_04]: Most of what you see on TV with her is an act.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: She's not ghetto.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_04]: She's very well refined.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't think I would kiss someone's sneaker.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_04]: Just to show field teacher them would you?
- 57:02[SPEAKER_04]: I would kiss Jasmine's foot, but not her sneaker.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_04]: That's kind of dirty.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_18]: Afternoon, how you doing?
- 57:15[SPEAKER_04]: Tammy, from Pamela, yeah.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_18]: Yes, I was just calling just a whole penny thing.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_18]: I don't care, you know.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_18]: I am trying to get them out into the circulation now, because you know, you find them at home in the drawer to find them in jars or little dishes.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_18]: So I'm just taking them and getting them out.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_18]: They're trying to help the people looking for them.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_18]: And you know, I don't think.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_18]: it's a big issue.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_18]: I think that's one of the smarter things that the government has done in a while being said it takes almost four cents to make a one-cent penny.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_04]: So I think... Yeah, of course obviously the argument is it's a piece of currency or coin that's good for decades and decades, so I mean the fact that it physically costs more at the time isn't really the issue, but I agree with you, yeah.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_04]: So what about if you went into a coffee shop and your bill was $2.23 and you gave them two and a quarter and they didn't give you any change.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_04]: Are you one of these people who throw a fit?
- 58:23[SPEAKER_18]: No, I'm not, but along these lines, every time you pay for a gallon of gas, you pay whatever, you know, like it's not $2.99, it's $2.99 plus $.9 of a penny.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_18]: There's some fractions of sense you're being used in nobody's complaining for every $10 of gas.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_18]: You should get a penny off or something.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_18]: You know, people, or you know, for every kind of gallon.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_18]: So that's been a thing.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_18]: Another thing is a lot of people don't use cash.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_18]: So it doesn't matter.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_18]: People are using more and more debit cards.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_18]: And you know, digital payments.
- 59:10[UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_18]: And then I think you were starting to say when I was dialing just as you were starting to talk about that person, were you talking about that woman that pisses out, pocket feet?
- 59:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you wouldn't do that.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_18]: The crocket is an idiot.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_18]: She is foul.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_18]: She is, I agree with Trump when I heard him refer to her as low IQ, which I think is right on the money.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, well listen, I got to run.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm out of time.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, now I like Jazzy.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I wouldn't kiss her sneaker, but I like her.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, this is the hotline on AM Pro 40 WATN Water County, York the time.
