- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here. And if you've ever found
- 0:41yourself taking things a bit too seriously and feeling a need to
- 0:45control too many different things, you might get some value
- 0:49from this hypnosis session. And it's all about releasing the
- 0:52need to control and more being rather than doing and going with
- 0:57the flow. And this particular client that
- 0:59I was working with had been like that when they were travelling
- 1:03and when they were younger, but in older age, pretty much 30s
- 1:08onwards, they felt that they had to be really serious and really
- 1:11structured and to take responsibility by controlling
- 1:15the variables. But that meant that they lost
- 1:17connection with that more go with the flow side of their
- 1:21personality. And this hypnosis session is
- 1:23designed to reactivate that part.
- 1:26And it uses metaphors like streams, horse riding, traveling
- 1:30to a part of the world in rural Colombia where they really felt
- 1:35that way. And it's all designed to
- 1:38reactivate this feeling of not needing to force things, but
- 1:42actually be guided into things. So if you can relate to, you
- 1:46know, maybe you're a bit of a control freak and you have to
- 1:49kind of have things a certain way and you've lost some element
- 1:53of just going with the flow and just being present with
- 1:56yourself, then you might get some value from this.
- 1:59Of course, some of the references are very unique to
- 2:01the client that I was working with.
- 2:03So if you do like the idea of working with me directly, have a
- 2:06look in the show notes of the description and you will see a
- 2:10link to book a free 30 minute consultation call and we can
- 2:13have a chat about working together.
- 2:16For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 2:19won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 2:43Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 2:54resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 3:00And as you exhale, feel that wonderful feeling of release, as
- 3:10if any tension, stress, or worries adjust, leaving your
- 3:19body in your outward breath. When you breathe in, breathe in
- 3:26for deeper and longer. And as you exhale, give
- 3:34permission to just let go. Not just of the outward breath
- 3:43that any of these rigid, highly structured ideas and ways of
- 3:49being just seem confining. Just allow them to leave your
- 3:58body. And as you scan your body for
- 4:03any clues of tension, every outward breath allow a release.
- 4:12Perhaps tension in your forehead, your jaw, or around
- 4:19your eyelids. Just allow that release.
- 4:27Breathing in relaxation and exhaling tension.
- 4:35Each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed, and the deeper
- 4:43you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 4:49And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe, creating
- 4:58a wonderful feeling not of trying to relax, but just being
- 5:05in this moment. Allow yourself to just be.
- 5:16And as your physical body relaxes, your imagination
- 5:20awakens. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 5:33water, perhaps in your own environment, water coming from a
- 5:40tap, a shower. But as you stare into the water,
- 5:49I want you to feel that it takes you back to a memory.
- 5:57Maybe that memory is being in a place, a particular town, a town
- 6:08there in Colombia, where you felt free that you could go with
- 6:16the flow. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 6:22a stream in a valley there in San Augustine, there in the
- 6:34incredible hills and scenery of rural Columbia.
- 6:43And you might remember interesting stone statues in
- 6:50that town all the way the trees go, all the way up those
- 7:02mountains. But I want you to imagine being
- 7:07there by the water. As you see the water flowing
- 7:15through the valley, I want you to get a feeling that the water
- 7:22isn't trying to do anything. The water is just water, and the
- 7:30water can just flow. And there is a direction that
- 7:36that water flows in. It isn't chaos, but it isn't
- 7:43controlled. The water simply flows.
- 7:51And as you stare into the flowing water, I want you to
- 7:55feel that there is a part of you from your past that used to flow
- 8:04more but has now become rigid. And I want you to think how easy
- 8:12it is. There's something fluid like
- 8:16water to become solid when it freezes.
- 8:21And I want you to imagine that part within you that already
- 8:24knows how to flow is like a frozen block of ice.
- 8:33And as you breathe in that warm Columbia air, I want you to
- 8:38imagine it thawing that part within you, the part that
- 8:43already knows how to trust the process, how to be, how to just
- 8:53go with the flow, to breathe in that warmth and feel it melting
- 9:08away. Anything, Anything that feels
- 9:16like it's confining your true nature.
- 9:22And maybe maybe it was a phrase that thought that free flowing
- 9:31nature of yours. Maybe the word was
- 9:34responsibility, maturity growing up being an adult.
- 9:43But you already know that you can be responsible without
- 9:49needing to take control. You already know that you can
- 10:01set an intention and trust the process, and things work out
- 10:11fine. As you breathe in and breathe
- 10:18out, feel that rigidity melting away and feel that you're giving
- 10:30yourself permission to flow once more.
- 10:47And I want you to imagine that stream or that river.
- 10:54Just imagine walking beside that water, and with each step that
- 11:07you imagine taking down the riverbank, you feel more
- 11:10grounded, more connected, yet also more free.
- 11:22Maybe you can hear the sound of the water trickling, or see the
- 11:28gentle movement of currents, but notice the way the river never
- 11:35forces itself, it simply flows. And as you continue to relax, it
- 11:47becomes easier to feel that same natural flow within yourself,
- 11:55drifting, floating, flowing. And as you go deeper now, you
- 12:08can begin to recognize that in life there are moments to act
- 12:14with intention, to steer the boat when needed, and there are
- 12:23also moments to simply let the river carry you, Moments where
- 12:32you can soften and moments where you can allow.
- 12:42Well, you don't need to control everything and sometimes
- 12:45anything, because the river finds its way, always moving,
- 12:56always adjusting. And you too can find your way by
- 13:04letting go of everything that doesn't need to be held so
- 13:10tightly. And you may notice how
- 13:17empowering it feels to simply be, to feel, to connect without
- 13:33having to do. And even when life flows in the
- 13:39direction you hadn't expected, I want you to feel that you can
- 13:45trust yourself, that you have the ability to figure it out, or
- 13:55just trust them. Something goodwill emerge from
- 14:00something that once seemed undesirable.
- 14:08And maybe you can recall the time where you were riding a
- 14:13horse, but if your grip is too tight, the horse gets
- 14:23uncomfortable. And isn't it interesting that by
- 14:29loosening your grip, by releasing the need to control,
- 14:38you actually discover a new kind of strength?
- 14:44The strength of trust, the strength of alignment, the
- 14:50strength of being guided by something greater than effort
- 14:56alone? And I wonder, when you're
- 15:02staring into the water, if you could imagine yourself in the
- 15:08days or weeks ahead, perhaps in a personal moment, the kind of
- 15:17situation where in the past you might have felt the urge to
- 15:22control, but instead see that future version of you, smiling,
- 15:34looking relaxed, taking a breath.
- 15:37See that future version of you allowing yourself to be, and
- 15:46notice how that version of you seems to connect more deeply, to
- 15:54flow more freely, to be more mindful and present.
- 16:07And as you see that future version of you, imagine floating
- 16:11into that future version of you, no longer the observer.
- 16:17I want you to feel how it feels, to mindfully and intentionally
- 16:25be rather than do. To relinquish that control, to
- 16:34trust the process, to feel empowered not through control,
- 16:45but through mindfulness, acceptance, and just being.
- 16:56And I want you to imagine that right now, in this moment, you
- 17:01are teaching your unconscious mind how natural it is to live
- 17:10with less doing and more being, less control and more trust.
- 17:21And when you're unconscious, really understands that, then it
- 17:26will be able to guide you to avoid any of the extremes, to
- 17:36steer you in the right direction, prompting you to
- 17:42control when it's useful to control and accept and be when
- 17:49that's the right thing in that situation.
- 17:59And as you leave, that future version of you find yourself
- 18:05there, back on the riverbank, there in the valley.
- 18:12And I want you to imagine before we leave, you're going to wash
- 18:19something off from you. I want you to wash away your
- 18:26belief. Then you need to be responsible,
- 18:35and the responsibility has to be serious.
- 18:40You now know that isn't true, and I want you to imagine that
- 18:46old belief is like dirt on your skin.
- 18:52And just imagine going into the rhythm and bathing all of that
- 18:57dirt and mud away, revealing what was always true before,
- 19:05because you already knew how to be responsible without needing
- 19:12seriousness and control. And as you wash away what was
- 19:18added, you reveal what was already there.
- 19:28That it's fine to just be. And as you hold that thought,
- 19:37allow yourself to float back all the way to the here and now, in
- 19:43this moment, taking all of these changes, resources, and new
- 19:50ideas with you, understanding that this has been a journey in
- 19:57your imagination, a journey of thoughts within thoughts.
- 20:03Ideas within ideas and dreams within dreams.
- 20:11But now it's time to return. As I count from 1:00 to 10:00,
- 20:18you will feel that you're reconnecting and calibrating
- 20:23with the here and the now. And when I count to 10, you will
- 20:27awaken feeling, feeling that alignment and guidance and
- 20:36permission to just be starting to count. 123 waking up 456 more
- 20:47alert. 7-8 open your eyes, open your eyes. 910 wide awake, wide
- 20:55awake, wide awake. Thank you so much for joining me
