- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. It is time now for one on
- 0:03Speaker 1: one with the pro, but we've got two on one today.
- 0:05Speaker 1: But they like those odds because we are talking with
- 0:08Speaker 1: our good friends from Truity Credit Union, Sarah and Eric.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome Bourn. How are we doing today the morning.
- 0:15Speaker 2: After morning after the storm? Doing great?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Doing all right? Do something very timely? You wanted to
- 0:21Speaker 1: let folks know about in case they had storm damage.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, as we were coming here and I was seeing
- 0:25Speaker 3: some of the tree damage and different things, it was
- 0:27Speaker 3: just reminding me that if our members are people, that
- 0:29Speaker 3: our members should remember that they have possibly an option
- 0:34Speaker 3: for a line of credit with us, as well as
- 0:36Speaker 3: what we call Q cash loans, which are kind of
- 0:38Speaker 3: just like a quick cash loan that you can get
- 0:41Speaker 3: that would definitely give you a better rate than like
- 0:43Speaker 3: a payday loan or anything like that. So if somebody's
- 0:46Speaker 3: in a pinch and they have to get some tree
- 0:48Speaker 3: damage fixed or windows or anything like that, we're happy
- 0:52Speaker 3: to help with that.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Well, very very good. Maybe we should tell our friends
- 0:57Speaker 1: about that and everything else that Truity is absolutely so.
- 1:02Speaker 4: One way you can tell people about that is we
- 1:04Speaker 4: just rolled out what we call refer a friend. So
- 1:07Speaker 4: this is a benefit for our members and those non
- 1:10Speaker 4: members that could possibly join the Credit Union. So through
- 1:14Speaker 4: like our online banking digital banking, our members can go
- 1:18Speaker 4: in there and refer people. And so right now we
- 1:20Speaker 4: have a few of them out there. So you can
- 1:22Speaker 4: refer somebody to open a checking account and if they do,
- 1:24Speaker 4: that person who referred they're going to get fifty dollars.
- 1:27Speaker 4: The person who opens that account can get two hundred
- 1:30Speaker 4: and fifty. There's those few things they need to do,
- 1:32Speaker 4: set up direct deposit, maybe set up some transfers, but
- 1:35Speaker 4: you know, it's a great way to refer people to
- 1:37Speaker 4: Credit Union. You get some money, they get some money,
- 1:40Speaker 4: and then we have other things in there such as
- 1:42Speaker 4: like a credit card and auto loan referral, so they
- 1:45Speaker 4: can go in there see what those options are. It's
- 1:47Speaker 4: a really simple process refers out to them. There's nothing
- 1:50Speaker 4: they really have to track. It'll be all automated. So yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 4: it's a really slick feature and something we like because
- 1:57Speaker 4: you know, we want to tell people about the Credit Union,
- 1:59Speaker 4: all the best fits they have.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And that's why we're here. We're going to tell all
- 2:04Speaker 1: our friends. But it doesn't work that way for us, right.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I think that's a great program because we have so
- 2:12Speaker 3: many people that have been members of the Credit Union forever,
- 2:15Speaker 3: like you, I run into people all the time and
- 2:16Speaker 3: they say, I've had account with you since I was
- 2:18Speaker 3: a kid or whatever that looks like.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And so this is a chance for them.
- 2:22Speaker 3: To really share with others why they're happy with the
- 2:24Speaker 3: Credit Union and then they get a benefit from it
- 2:26Speaker 3: as well as the person that they're sending our way.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So I think it's kind of a win win, and
- 2:31Speaker 3: it really shows our current members how much we appreciate
- 2:34Speaker 3: them and those referrals that they send over.
- 2:37Speaker 1: That is wonderful. Well, one thing that kind of sells
- 2:40Speaker 1: itself is your checking accounts. I gotta tell you, life
- 2:45Speaker 1: is easy at Truity.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That's what we like to hear.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Tell us about it. How does work? Because you will
- 2:52Speaker 1: talk a little bit about well, you know, credit Union
- 2:56Speaker 1: versus at Mega. They used to be called shared graphs.
- 2:59Speaker 4: But do you say no, yeah, So I go, so, yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 4: we do still have people that call it share drafts
- 3:07Speaker 4: and we recognize that. But you know, mostly checking accounts.
- 3:10Speaker 4: So we've got a variety of checking accounts to choose
- 3:12Speaker 4: from that'll fit you. Know a variety of needs, and
- 3:15Speaker 4: we have free accounts out there and then some of
- 3:18Speaker 4: our accounts, depending on the selection, you can get like
- 3:20Speaker 4: identity theft protection services. You know, this day and age,
- 3:23Speaker 4: there's a lot of fraud that's taking place with you know,
- 3:26Speaker 4: all the technology, so if something were to happen to you,
- 3:29Speaker 4: you could come in and see us. With this product,
- 3:32Speaker 4: you're going to be able to contact people who are
- 3:33Speaker 4: going to start the clean up process for you on
- 3:35Speaker 4: that and just make it as easy as possible for you.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody wants that, but it's nice to know you
- 3:40Speaker 1: got a friend in your corner it's already prepared, ready
- 3:44Speaker 1: to deal with it, right.
- 3:45Speaker 4: We know how frustrating it is, and you're busy enough
- 3:47Speaker 4: with life, so this is kind of like you see us.
- 3:50Speaker 4: We get the ball rolling very minimal that you'll have
- 3:53Speaker 4: to do, and then usually they gets you all fixed
- 3:55Speaker 4: up and then we take care of the stuff we
- 3:57Speaker 4: need to do right there at that time to protect
- 4:00Speaker 4: your accounts. But yeah, lots of features. Mobile phone coverage
- 4:02Speaker 4: is another one that comes with that, and it'll cover
- 4:05Speaker 4: not only that account owner, but anybody on that cell plan.
- 4:09Speaker 4: So if you've got kids, teenagers, broken phones. It's a
- 4:13Speaker 4: great service that you can go ahead and get your
- 4:15Speaker 4: phone repaired.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I think it's a fifty.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Dollars deductible and then they can replace repair your phone.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Wow, we just keep together. The hits keep coming. Now
- 4:26Speaker 1: we've got the promotions that's out now. Yeah, don't work.
- 4:30Speaker 4: So right now, if you decide to open a checking
- 4:33Speaker 4: account and you don't have one, even if you're an
- 4:36Speaker 4: existing member, so you have a savings account, you get
- 4:38Speaker 4: one hundred dollars for opening a checking account.
- 4:41Speaker 1: You're paying me to come to you, come in get
- 4:43Speaker 1: an account. Well, my goodness sakes.
- 4:46Speaker 3: It's really a great service, especially right now for folks
- 4:50Speaker 3: that might be getting ready to send kids off to school,
- 4:53Speaker 3: or if they have kids that this summer they're you know,
- 4:57Speaker 3: getting driver's licenses, jobs, things like that. Why not get
- 5:00Speaker 3: your kids started with a free checking account with one
- 5:04Speaker 3: hundred dollars in it. I know my daughter just opened
- 5:07Speaker 3: one because she got her first job. So I think
- 5:10Speaker 3: it's important to set your kids up for success, and this.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Is one of the ways that Trudy can help families
- 5:16Speaker 2: do that.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Wow. You know, by simply being a Membery, you're setting
- 5:20Speaker 1: your own self up more success tell us a little
- 5:23Speaker 1: bit how membership works.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So I think membership is interesting because some people feel
- 5:29Speaker 3: like that it's exclusive and it provides them with certain benefits,
- 5:35Speaker 3: and that is definitely true. But the fact is that
- 5:38Speaker 3: we can Most folks that live in Bartlesville are eligible
- 5:42Speaker 3: one way or another. So our membership is based off
- 5:46Speaker 3: of where you live, where you work, or where you worship,
- 5:52Speaker 3: various organizations that you might be involved with.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So it's really easy to come.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And be a part of our membership and be a
- 6:00Speaker 3: customer of the Cardit Union.
- 6:01Speaker 1: My goodness sakes, we're going to start telling people about
- 6:05Speaker 1: this next thing. You know, the doors are just going
- 6:07Speaker 1: to be jammed. People are going to overrun you here.
- 6:10Speaker 1: We are all for it. Yeah, folks visit the two
- 6:14Speaker 1: locations that we have here in town. I always find
- 6:17Speaker 1: something different in the mural downtown. It's like I didn't.
- 6:20Speaker 2: See that the lobby mural, Yes, twenty.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Thousand times, I was hitting here, Where did that come from? Okay,
- 6:27Speaker 1: somebody's playing with me. Yeah. And then the beautiful piece
- 6:30Speaker 1: of work out there on seventy five. But that's pretty.
- 6:35Speaker 2: It's a great branch.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And now for our members that are further North, we
- 6:39Speaker 3: have our great new drive up ITM machine and doing.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Oh so, how does this work? I keep hearing people
- 6:45Speaker 1: liking this because they say it's for a machine, it's
- 6:48Speaker 1: rather principle.
- 6:50Speaker 3: It's great. So during most working hours you can go
- 6:55Speaker 3: up and do anything that you would do at an
- 6:56Speaker 3: ATM machine. But during the day you can also push
- 7:00Speaker 3: a button and speak to someone that's a face that's
- 7:03Speaker 3: live in one of our branches that can help you
- 7:06Speaker 3: with other transactions more than just.
- 7:08Speaker 2: An ATM machine would do.
- 7:10Speaker 3: So if you need to make loan payments, mortgage payments,
- 7:13Speaker 3: if you want to talk to someone about starting a
- 7:14Speaker 3: loan application, the ATM withdrawal is a little bit higher there.
- 7:21Speaker 3: So if you need to get cash out, I help
- 7:23Speaker 3: somebody over the weekend that was needing to get money
- 7:25Speaker 3: to buy make a larger purchase and we talked through
- 7:28Speaker 3: how they could do that at one of the ITM machines.
- 7:30Speaker 3: So there's really a lot of great features. Plus my favorite,
- 7:34Speaker 3: I know, I'm really simple, but you can get any
- 7:37Speaker 3: sort of cash denomination out. So if I'm getting ready
- 7:42Speaker 3: to go garage saling.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You're kidding me, I've never seen this before.
- 7:47Speaker 3: So you can just say, you know, I want sixty dollars,
- 7:49Speaker 3: but I want to in fives and ones or whatever
- 7:52Speaker 3: that looks like. And then at the end of the day,
- 7:54Speaker 3: the ITM also will let you deposit cash, so you
- 7:58Speaker 3: can go back and deposit cash or checks right into.
- 8:02Speaker 1: The machine anytime.
- 8:04Speaker 4: You just go in, even at the weekend, nobody's there,
- 8:06Speaker 4: you deposit it and it'll go right on in.
- 8:09Speaker 1: To quote Jack Nicholson, you've got all the toys.
- 8:14Speaker 4: We like to stay up to date with stuff and
- 8:16Speaker 4: try to make it as easy as possible for our members.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Well, I've noticed that we've really taken the big leap
- 8:24Speaker 1: forward into technology had truity over the last I will
- 8:27Speaker 1: say a couple of years that I've really noticed it
- 8:30Speaker 1: kind of like the pedals to the metal, and there's
- 8:34Speaker 1: all kinds of protections, there's all kinds of different ways
- 8:38Speaker 1: that you can get self help. And your website is
- 8:43Speaker 1: tremendous because it's easy to navigate. I mean, I'm an
- 8:47Speaker 1: older fella, and I don't like looking. I don't like
- 8:51Speaker 1: to get too busy on a website because we've got
- 8:53Speaker 1: to forget where I am. So this is easy to navigate.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Point click, You're there, and you even got somebody to
- 9:01Speaker 1: talk to you need it.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they've got the chat option out there, and
- 9:05Speaker 4: you need that through your mobile app or.
- 9:07Speaker 1: On the lead. You do that on the app as well.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yeah. I was traveling one time and my wife said,
- 9:11Speaker 4: did you tell him we were traveling in the mark
- 9:13Speaker 4: our debit cards for travel?
- 9:14Speaker 1: And I was like no, And she usually is the one.
- 9:17Speaker 4: To remember, and I worked there. So I chatted somebody
- 9:19Speaker 4: and I got somebody and it said so and so
- 9:21Speaker 4: is helping you. And I'm like, I know who that is,
- 9:23Speaker 4: and they got it marked for me and so and
- 9:25Speaker 4: then I had a history. It keeps kind of a history,
- 9:27Speaker 4: so if you need to go back, you can see,
- 9:29Speaker 4: you know, I had that conversation and this is what
- 9:32Speaker 4: took place.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So yeah, by the way, that comes in handy because
- 9:36Speaker 1: I did get a call says, you're buying gum at
- 9:39Speaker 1: a convenience store. Here were you five minutes ago out
- 9:44Speaker 1: in Santa Fe, New Mexico buying an antique couch. No,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I don't think that was quite possible. We didn't think so.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So the next thing, you know, everything is good, but
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's it's one of those things knowing that you have
- 9:59Speaker 1: our best interests at heart. You've got your protecting our
- 10:03Speaker 1: investments with you and a dog, got it. You folks
- 10:07Speaker 1: are nice.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Too, I mean we try, No, we have great We
- 10:12Speaker 3: have great people at the Credit Union and they work
- 10:15Speaker 3: hard every day to take care of our members, to
- 10:18Speaker 3: get them into the right products and services for that
- 10:21Speaker 3: particular family or situation. And it's everybody in our whole building,
- 10:25Speaker 3: you know, a great group. Yeah, from support services to
- 10:29Speaker 3: the people on the front lines.
- 10:31Speaker 2: We've got a really really great group.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Branches in other states.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I mean, everybody is I'm not just from the an
- 10:38Speaker 1: outside and looking in. It's very smooth. You know. If
- 10:40Speaker 1: I have a question, the teller doesn't have the answer,
- 10:44Speaker 1: she tells me where I'm going to go see and
- 10:47Speaker 1: where they are, and by golly, there they are, and
- 10:49Speaker 1: I don't need a map. And next thing, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 1: question answered. And if that doesn't work, we find someone else,
- 10:56Speaker 1: because there's only someone in the building who's got to
- 10:58Speaker 1: know the answer. And I like and it's usually somebody
- 11:01Speaker 1: you know even better, even better. And one of the things,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and I know, I tell everyone from truity when they're
- 11:08Speaker 1: in here, I see you everywhere because you're involved with
- 11:13Speaker 1: so many different things, just like everyone else is, but
- 11:16Speaker 1: everyone knows that you know, you're with Truity, and it's
- 11:19Speaker 1: great to see that kind of involvement in our community
- 11:24Speaker 1: and variety of different levels, whether you're a parent or
- 11:27Speaker 1: whether you're volunteering for one of our twenty bazillion nonprofits.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And we do work out well.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we do a lot of different activities.
- 11:37Speaker 2: In the summer.
- 11:37Speaker 3: You'll definitely see Truity out and about with our trailer
- 11:41Speaker 3: or supporting different events. In fact, just this morning, I
- 11:45Speaker 3: was talking to a coworker about an event that's coming
- 11:48Speaker 3: up at Kitty Park.
- 11:49Speaker 2: We're going to be hosting a special needs night, so
- 11:52Speaker 2: we'll be there at Kitty Park.
- 11:54Speaker 3: We'll have lots of volunteers on hand, so anybody who's
- 11:57Speaker 3: child might house some special needs or require a little
- 11:59Speaker 3: bit at time and attention is going to have the
- 12:02Speaker 3: ability to come into Kitty Park, ride the rides, have
- 12:05Speaker 3: a snack, enjoy some family fun with a little bit
- 12:08Speaker 3: of a smaller crowd, and like I said, extra hands
- 12:12Speaker 3: on deck to help where we can. So we're really
- 12:14Speaker 3: looking forward to that.
- 12:15Speaker 1: See that is just the tip of the iceberg. But
- 12:17Speaker 1: my goodness is what an impression that makes you're going
- 12:20Speaker 1: to be all over the park. But you know, we
- 12:22Speaker 1: don't just work here.
- 12:23Speaker 4: We live here too, any part of the community, and
- 12:25Speaker 4: we want to see it thrive. And we have a
- 12:27Speaker 4: lot of employees that are involved in different things in
- 12:29Speaker 4: the community. So, you know, the more we can do
- 12:32Speaker 4: to help, the better.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Indeed, every now and again, some of the darkness things
- 12:39Speaker 1: that our nonprofits do, they have a little contast, little
- 12:43Speaker 1: promotions and everything. There's always a truity member there. There's
- 12:47Speaker 1: always one. And Joe. We don't know Joe, Yeah, we
- 12:52Speaker 1: know Joe. He was involved. I guess with this real
- 12:56Speaker 1: cheese competition I heard about that they named it grilled
- 13:02Speaker 1: Cheese Sandwich after that boy that if.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Anybody, if anybody, deserves their own grilled cheese.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I feel like it's just it's called not your average Joe. Well,
- 13:11Speaker 1: how that's great. So you even have folks around the
- 13:16Speaker 1: neighborhood getting you know, food dishes named after them.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I mean, we do what we can.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Now, I understand that you have a lot of
- 13:29Speaker 1: fun internally because you're kind of set up that way.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You have a wonderful work culture there where, you know,
- 13:37Speaker 1: it just seems like it makes it work. It keeps
- 13:41Speaker 1: every preventing on top of their game and makes them realize,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you know, who they are and who they represent, and
- 13:47Speaker 1: just how well the job can be done. It's it's
- 13:49Speaker 1: amazing how those fun things that you do wind up
- 13:54Speaker 1: being the big things for the clients members.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Well, I think when you can take the time to
- 13:59Speaker 3: make sure that you're employ are engaged and happy and
- 14:02Speaker 3: enjoying their time at the office. You know, we spend
- 14:04Speaker 3: so much time at work. If you're not enjoying it,
- 14:06Speaker 3: then that's not going to make for a very fulfilled life.
- 14:09Speaker 3: So we want our employees to kind of enjoy all parts.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Right now, it's been fun because we've been supporting the
- 14:16Speaker 3: Oklahoma City Thunder. So anytime the Thunder is having a game,
- 14:20Speaker 3: we can wear Thunder t shirts or you know, Thunder
- 14:22Speaker 3: apparel to the office and people kind of talk basketball
- 14:26Speaker 3: and it's a lot of fun.
- 14:27Speaker 2: So, you know, we're.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Into whatever's going on, whatever the holiday is season, we
- 14:32Speaker 3: want to support that very good.
- 14:34Speaker 1: One thing I do know, I remember because I saw
- 14:38Speaker 1: you bring in a big check to the schools and
- 14:40Speaker 1: you do this with your with your debit cards. Correct,
- 14:43Speaker 1: can you help us a little bit about that, sure.
- 14:45Speaker 3: So we do have a Spirit card program, that's what
- 14:48Speaker 3: they're called. We have a variety of different cards with
- 14:51Speaker 3: various logos and things on them that support We have
- 14:54Speaker 3: one for Bartlesow Public Schools. We have a Willer Rock card,
- 14:58Speaker 3: we have a Tri County Tech card, we have a
- 15:01Speaker 3: Dewey Bulldogger card, and I believe we're going to be
- 15:03Speaker 3: rolling out one more this fall for Bahusca. Oh, we're
- 15:07Speaker 3: really excited to support the Huskies as well.
- 15:09Speaker 2: So we have all of those, and then.
- 15:11Speaker 3: We also have a new line of what we call
- 15:14Speaker 3: Charlie Hussel cards. They have hearts on them in varying colors,
- 15:18Speaker 3: so you can support the Chiefs, the Royals, the Casey Current, Oh,
- 15:24Speaker 3: there's several different in the Jayhawks, so that all those
- 15:27Speaker 3: color combinations are out there. And anytime you're using a
- 15:31Speaker 3: Spirit card from any market, we're giving money back to
- 15:35Speaker 3: those entities or back to those communities and different foundations
- 15:40Speaker 3: to help support those communities and organizations.
- 15:42Speaker 1: All I can say is there's a lot of folks
- 15:44Speaker 1: choosing brewing cards because that check was It took two
- 15:47Speaker 1: people to pull that check into the room. That's how
- 15:50Speaker 1: big that was that's great for the school.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Check everybody left the Bruins around.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Here, you betcha. I want to thank you both for
- 15:57Speaker 1: coming in today and the Hounds fund this and of
- 16:00Speaker 1: course telling everybody about True to Credit Union refer a
- 16:04Speaker 1: friend and also covering the checking accounts and general membership,
- 16:09Speaker 1: just kind of getting everybody familiar with the works. Thank
- 16:12Speaker 1: you for being with it. Thank you
