- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Duval, daily presented by jing Jack.com.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Recording this Friday, January 16th, publishing this Saturday, January 17th, and I was sitting here today.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jack season, it's been pretty long.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Started an early September, didn't until January ended a little bit earlier than a lot of us would have liked as we all know, but I was sitting there earlier and I was like, man, no bold predictions tomorrow.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, huh, it's like, that just doesn't sit right.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: Not doing a Saturday morning show for Duval.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: Not talking about some bold predictions.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, well, I'm not going to sit here and just go over all the playoff games, left, anything like that.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I decided to do bold predictions for the Jag wars 2026 free agent class.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go over specifically the unrestricted
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, which players are staying and which players are going?
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe talk about what I might expect to them to earn in Jacksonville or on the open market.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, excited to get into that wish we weren't having to talk about free agency and the NFL draft and the off season right now, but that's where we're at.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: You don't get to control these things unfortunately.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: The team controls their destiny, fans, analysts, everybody else.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be along for the ride, and that's what we're doing here.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: So, excited to get into it though, none of the last.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.

- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dov all gear, help support the channel.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Look good while doing it.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, we are over on over the cap.com, looking at the unrestricted free agents.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, just looking at the restrictive reagents and exclusive rights for reagents, all of those players at the type of players where if the jacks want them back, they're going to get them back.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: There's no players in that grouping that really
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Keith Taylor is their only restricted free agent, Christian Braswell and Josh Sheepis are there.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Exclusive rights, free agents according to overthecap.com.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think, if they want those guys back, they'll get them back.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: But let's focus on the unrestricted free agent.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's a few that obviously are top of mind, but we're just gonna go in order here from the over the cap list.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Over the cap is my number one source for free agent and salary cap news, really.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Starting off, Emmanuel Agba, 33 years old, signed with the Jaguars this past off season, had played with Anthony Campanileg, so the Jags, they fired their defensive backscoach.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that that could matter for some different directions the Jaguars might go this off season.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: They fired their secondary coach, Ron Miles.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean anything for manual I don't think so obviously defensive at end edge player but it could have an impact on something that just wanted to bring that up because we're talking about defense.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hopeful about Anthony camping you may be in back right.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: I am hopeful about that.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Bold prediction I do think he'll be back.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Getting a little nervous about great edinsky seems like they really like him up there in Cleveland.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I think camps gonna be back.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I hope Camp's gonna be back, selfishly, unselfishly, I wish that man everything he can get, right, coaching was.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: But, maybe you'll log by how to connection with Camp.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think that that matters at this point.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: He came in, he didn't do a good enough job as compared to some of the other players that were in his room, kind of, in competition with him.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think that,
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: to want smooth, had a more versatile role for the Jaguars and did a little bit better, then Agua, but you look at Danny Striggout and BJ Green, these two kids coming in as undrafted for reagents, and just taking the challenge and running with it, of making the team and then being able to actually contribute.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: They did that.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean they're going to be long-term fixtures for the Jaguars?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: That is yet to be determined.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think, maybe you'll log by probably not back, right?
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to be back.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then the next guy on the list, the next two guys on the list, these are two of the biggest names, Devon Lloyd, linebacker.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Second team all pro this year probably should have been first team and that's not bias, that's just like, I mean, look at what he did.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: It was incredible.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Five interceptions, really good pass-rushers, slash blitzer, really good in run defense, you know, part of the best run defense in football, part of the defense, you know, leading the defense and interceptions along with Antonio Johnson, leading the AFC and interceptions along with Antonio Johnson.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: love the guy.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: I've always loved going back to his college days, such a huge fan of his game at Utah.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: I had him as like a top 10 to 12 prospect back in what was it, 2022.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Jags when they were able to trade up for him, 27 overall.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think they traded up from 33 to 27.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was just over the moon.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Even though the positional value and all that stuff wasn't great, Devon Lloyd
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a $20 million dollar linebacker.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Jags are gonna pay $20 million for a linebacker.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's coming back.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of different ways to look at this and break it down.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll talk more in detail about a lot of these big-name players.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: But the brass tax of it is, I think the Jag Wars are gonna say, we can get better on defense in the aggregate without Devon Lloyd.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Without the money we have to pay
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're going to get there because I think that they're going to say we need to get better in coverage and we feel like we can get production in the aggregate out of Jack Kaiser, out of Ventral Miller, out of maybe another journeyman linebacker or a linebacker that fit their system.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: versus paying Devin Lloyd 20 million dollars per year.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna say we can get better in the defense of backfield.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: We can improve our secondary.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter is coming back.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have to just be a better version of the same defense we were this year.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: We can be a different defense.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: We can be a better defense by being a little bit different.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter being a big part of that, right?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Ransau coming back potentially being a big part of that maybe upgrading the way you view or at at least Liam Cohen and Anthony Campanilla if he's still there their mind upgrading the way they coach the secondary That's what I'm thinking Running back Travis ET in I don't see it
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: I've said earlier this week, like I put the number at one when it came to Devon Lloyd and Travis C.T.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: and like you're keeping one of these guys.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: The more I think about it, the more I look at the salary cap, they can't absolutely do it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: If they want to keep both of these guys they can figure that out.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know that they will when you look at Anton Harrison.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: You look at Trayvon Walker, Parker Washington, Britain Strange, you've got some contracts coming up of guys that I think might be more vital to your success, and that's not to take anything away from Devon Light, I think Devon Light's fantastic, I think Travis CTN's fantastic, how important is that?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: How much do you want to put that premium price tag on a linebacker off-ball and a running back?
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: When you have basal tune, you have liquid Allen and you have the ability to go get another really good running back in the draft.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: You got a lot of draft picks.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's where I'm at.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe if ETN comes in a little cheaper than I expect, I'm expecting to have an lawyer to get 20 million per year, I'm expecting Travis ETN to get 12 million per year.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: If one of those guys comes in cheaper, maybe they can do it, but that's what I think that they're going to get.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Winger, I also think they're going to let walk.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Good leader, good role-playing safety, in my opinion.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Good special teams player, so is Devon Lloyd, by the way, very good special teams player.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Do he 30 years old, they can bring him back for a very cheap if they want to, right?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not the issue, but they have Eric Murray, they have Caleb Branson, they have Antonio Johnson who stepped up in a big way.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: They have Ray online.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: You really need a sign in another safety?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the draft pundits are mocking safety to the jags.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, maybe they do that at some point, go get a safety in the draft.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know how you keep another safety.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Tim Patrick, why do Siever 33 years old?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the type where maybe they bring him back later on.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that he needs to be like first wave of free agency type of deal.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they bring him back later on, but I don't expect him to be in the initial plans.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like maybe they bring him in after the draft if they don't find somebody later in the draft that they feel really confident in moving forward.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Johnson, same deal.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's a priority thing.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: I had to think it's the same situation as Tim Patrick.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Can do some things for you?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Can execute for you?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: But probably after the draft type of deal, if anything, Dennis Gardeck, 32 years old.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: This is a tough one for me, because I mean, he's not an expensive player.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great, I think they try to bring him back.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think they try to bring him back.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like,
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: A really good fit, you know, he's more valuable to your team than an Andrew Winger to Tim Patrick and Austin Johnson, like I think his skill set in that Sam linebacker hybrid edge slash off ball linebacker role is just more valuable and he fits it to a T and he's a great special teamer.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's a barbarian for a reason, right?
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to say Dennis Gardeck back.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: to want smooth I'm going to say gone because I mentioned I think he did a little bit better job overall than in manual log with us here but I don't think he did a very good job.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think the jag wars need to inject some youth some more talent into their defense of line group.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to do that.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now Matt Dickerson, interior defense of lineman defensive tackle came on after the season started I believe or late in training.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: 31 years old, this is the type of guy that I want to keep around.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think they keep him.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think they bring him back beginning a free agency, like he's on their first wave.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think they love Mad Dickerson.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: DJ Dallas, they didn't sign him too long ago.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be an easy one to say, probably gonna let walk.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe again, another player that if it doesn't go your way
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: After the draft, Quentin Morris, I know they love this guy, I know they love Quentin Morris, but at tight end you have Britain strange, and I'm of the mind that you need to try to upgrade your tight end room.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I would like it if, let's see here, let's see.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to see about Hunter Long and Johnny Month's contracts here.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I would prefer, honestly, I would prefer Quentin Morris on their roster than either of those guys.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's got it.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Jack's can move on from Hunter Long if they want.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: They'll save almost 2 million if they move on.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: uh... Johnny month they can move on from as well not saying they got a move on from those guys but i would like a room where you know maybe one of those guys is not there you have quit more as you have britain strange and you have like a day to pick that i think they can kind of be a versatile player for you i would really like that i would did that in the mock draft so i'm gonna say i say quit more says back
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then this is a huge one.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Monterey Buster Brown.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: Back.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's two starting corners next year.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: Outside corners.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: You got Jari and playing a lot.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: You got Jordan Lewis playing a lot.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Branson getting in the action Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray playing a lot.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can get more excited about that.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: A true number one and a true number two at corner on the outside and great nickels.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: High-scrated safety and profile focus this year, a veteran and an upstart really talented young guy and Caleb Branson.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a good look in secondary, especially being in the second year of the same system.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: If Anthony Campanile is back, that is the critical piece to the Jaguar as whole defensive plan this offseason.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'll do it though, really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, y'all have a great weekend.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much.
